You know the food is on point if you have to go back and edit your review. Best Mediterranean food I've had in Georgia! So so good! Ordered a combo kabob platter to go, $20 for the dinner portion, but it's so much food that you can definitely save half for the next day. The food is so delicious with generous portions of grilled veggies, rice and a salad included! While I was waiting, they gave me a cup of their iced tea which had their own unique middle eastern spices. It was definitely unique but good and super nice of them to do. Overall, the staff here is very polite and sweet and who doesn't love a tasty plate of awesome kabobs and shawarma? Definitely will come back again

Fantastic, authentic Mediterranean food!! Highly recommend, can't get enough! Service is fabulous, atmosphere quaint- menu great!

Amazing! I had the gyro platter and it was absolutely delicious. The lamb was tender and flavorful. The tzatziki sauce was tangy, creamy perfection. The greek potatoes were very well seasoned and tasty. The greek salad was nice as well, heavy on the dressing (which I love) but if you like it lighter you may want to request to have the dressing served on the side. I will definitely be back to try more things.

Amazing place! They are the warmest hosts and they make you feel home. Went there with my family and on knowing that one of us was fasting they offered us delicious baklava and tea(on the house) to break the fast. Best Mediterranean food I've ever had! Tried the baklava, opa wrap, opa platter and gyro platter with the most delectable potato chips! On inquiring about the tasty salad dressing, they gave us some to take back home. All in all, a beautiful experience. Am definitely going back soon!

The atmosphere is relaxing and the food is phenomenal. I love that they serve Greek and Persian cuisine. All of the food is authentic and delicious. The pita bread is so fresh. I love that they give you a free soda with your combo meals. There are hardly any decent places to eat off of Peachtree Industrial and this is my new #1 place to eat. The owners are very generous and kind. I have so much fun eating here!

I come here often for lunch and it's my favorite place of the area. I usually have the lamb Opa platter, which I love. The chicken platter is also very good. Actually I haven't ordered anything I don't like. My favorite appetizers are hummus and the meatballs. Family owned and serviced, they're friendly and helpful.

I've been going to Opa's for several years now. My go to item is the Opa platter. The staff is is very friendly and aim to please. If it isn't right they will make it right! Suzanne

I got the falafel salad and it was phenomenal! Extremely crunchy and nice flavor. We also appreciated the authenticity of the restaurant. Greek inspired decor and music playing in the background. Really good! We will definitely be back.

If you're looking for an incredible Mediterranean experience, look no further. The Gyro Salad is something that I crave. My husband and I usually pop in at lunch, but we have a great meal any time we go. Each time that we bring someone to eat here, they fall in love, just like we have. The Opa Nachos are my sons' favorite along with the meatballs. Family-owned and family-run, the proprietors of Opa are the most lovely, kindest, and humble people you will ever meet. Go for the food, return for the entire experience.

I want to preface this review by stating I have been a devoted customer of Messina's Greek and Mediterranean cuisine in Lilburn for 7 years. I now live in Sugar Hill, so I can't make it over there to that side of town as often as I would like. I've settled for Athena's at Sugarloaf Mills mall, but it's still not super convenient. I've been in the market for a Greek restaurant closer to me, and I'm sad to say that Opa isn't it for me. But it looks like I'm in the minority. My husband and I stopped here last night (a Wednesday) around 7. It was busy but not packed. We weren't given menus or asked what we'd like to drink as promptly as I would have liked, but whatever. One waitress was clearly handling an issue with a take out order when we arrived, so we understand. I ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken and my husband got a gyro with Greek potatoes. We shared an order of pita bread and tzatziki sauce. The tzatziki was a distinctly different flavor that I am used to, but not bad per se. The pita was thin and the portion was smaller than I've had at other places. My salad was just ok. The chicken was very chewy and not very seasoned. I had to cut a piece open to make sure it was done all the way. Sure enough it was, so I guess this is just how they serve their chicken. Not my preference. My husband says he had more lamb meat on his gyro than other places but agreed with me about the flavor of tzatziki. The Greek potatoes were wonderful. I do want to mention that our server was friendly and took our order without writing it down and got it exactly right, which always impresses me. Also the prices were reasonable in my opinion. Overall it was a let down but not horrid. Nothing to write home about, but other people clearly love this place so I'm thinking our tastes are just different. For now I will have to settle for Athena's at Sugarloaf Mills or drive the extra miles to Messina's.

The food was decent enough I suppose but it was rather expensive for the serving size. I was still write hungry after getting the $13 Opa platter. The service is the real reason for the bad rating though. Everything started fine, but my daughter paid an employee at the counter after our meal. While leaving our server ran into the parking lot hysterical, acting as if we had not paid. We went back in where she confirmed that we had paid, but she never apologized and even acted as if their issues were or fault. We won't be back.

Okay place and good food. The kabob platter we had was good. Will need to visit again with friends later. Overall the food items are Slightly pricy though !

This feels very much like a family-owned restaurant. Parents are probably cooking and the adult "kids" are probably the ones serving. Doesn't matter ~ the food is wonderful, and the service is outstandingly friendly. We ordered.... APPETIZERS Dolmatos (stuff grape leaves) -- These came already covered in a sweet pomegranate sauce. I would have preferred something more tart (like vinaigrette), but they were still tasty. Tzatziki and Pita -- The tzatkiki was fresh and light. Big punch of dill in the mouth which we loved. Avgolemono soup -- My favorite chicken soup ever! Lots of lemon and dill flavor with rice and small chunks of chicken. Greek salad -- A better take on an old favorite. Came with pita, and the dressing wasn't too bitter (which is always my biggest complaint with dressing on Greek salads). They actually use pitted Agrosparta olives which is a must-have in great Greek salads. ENTREE Shish Kabob platter with a saffron long-grain rice and veggies -- I requested the beef cooked medium rare, and WOW...it was delicious. In fact, I can't remember when I've had such a tender cut of meat. It cut easily with their table knife, and it was very juicy. They used a long-grain basmati rice sprinkle slightly with what appeared to be saffron. The flavor of the white basmati came out on its own even without the dash of saffron. Eggplant sandwich -- My "almost vegetarian" daughter described the flavor as being "pretty good". My wife and I found it odd that it had lettuce on it. I guess I was expecting something more "Italian" and saucy. Not so. On a high note, my daughter said it was nice to try something different. She liked it. Veggie wrap -- My wife, the actual vegetarian, really enjoyed her meal. Vegetarians usual end up eating the same regional foods over and over again, and it can get boring. She described her wrap as "really good". The seasonings seemed to wake her mouth up, and she ate every bit of it in one sitting (which is rare). DESSERT We had the sampler with two small pistachio baklava, one large walnut baklava, and the most decadent chocolate mouse cake we have ever tasted. Everything was superb. I have to single-out the cake, though. I could really taste the coco power with every bit (though not overpowering) which just added an appeal to the cake that I wasn't expecting. Many such cakes are too sweet and rich. This one was just right ~ and we devoured it.

Good Greek food is hard to find! But the search ended when we found Opa! This family run and family friendly restaurant has delicious entrees - the gyros platter is my favorite - and equally delicious desserts. The owners provide good service and always find time for a chat. We are patrons since the restaurant opened 5 years ago and we will continue to visit frequently.

We eat Middle Eastern food often. This is the best and freshest we have had in years! Love it! We don't live close but we will be back as often as possible.

I was hungry after work so I found this place from Google as I was craving lamb gyro. It's located in nice and quiet area. Clean plaza. Easy parking. Inside is clean and Mediterranean feel. I ordered lamb gyro. It came out in about ten minutes. Amazing gyro- I loved it. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Server (maybe it's the owner) was friendly. I will be back again.

IMPRESSED!!! Having lived in Greece my bar is set very high. "Opa! Gyros and Kabob" is simply the best OF TWO countries, Persia and Greece. Relaxing ambiance, amazingly hospitable staff, fantastic authentic cultural food.

I'm from the Chicago area where there are probably hundreds of Gyro joints in the metro area and the gyro at this joint is as good as any I have been to and I have been to a lot of them. I figure if a gyro joint can't get the gyro right there's no point in trying anything else on the menu. They even have a good Chicago dog and a Polish sausage. Next time I'm in the area I will be back for a gyro and try the rest of the menu. Nice owners too!

  • Hiro T.

This place has very average Gyros. I wouldn't drive out of my way to get these gyros. They aren't bad, but they aren't great, but their not quite just right. Confusing description, right? Guess the best word to use is "indifferent" regarding the gyros. If you're in the area I would recommend stopping in. The restaurant itself is your average restaurant with average interior.

Outstanding food. Great service. Family owned and operated both front of the house, kitchen, and back of the house. I let them tell me what's good today, and then order it. Good wine too.

I love this place, food is exceptional and service even better. I love Mediterranean food and this place delivers superb dinning experience. I had the ground beef kabob with vegetables and rice. AMAZING! I will be back!

Got takeout for lunch. Falafel with feta cheese and Greek potatoes = amazing. I couldn't even finish it all. Never had Greek potatoes before. Can I just go back for lunch tomorrow and dinner again? Delish. Looks like a cool ambiance for a date too. Portions are great size for the wrap combos. It was still good temp after a 15 minute ride home. Falafel + feta + Greek potatoes = new favorite lunch takeout. Ready for more.

Excellent Greek food! My family of four went to Opa on a Friday night. The restaurant was relatively busy and the service wAs suburb. It definitely had a personally, family owned business feel. The staff were all related and greeted at least half if the customers personally and it was obvious that they were longtime frequent customers and after eating there we could see why. They were helpful and understanding of our sons allergy concerns and the kids menu included a selection of kid friendly foods. Gyros were amazing and prices were reasonable! It will definitely be our go to for Greek food.

No change in my update for a revisit to Opa! Same great family-oriented service with above average flavor for kebab/gyro. The Greek potatoes were great as were the sweet potatoes, and falafel is spiced just right. Opa! is most likely going to be my local gyro place that hasn't let me down yet.

Our school took our children on a field trip to learn about businesses in our community. We arranged for our children to have lunch at Opa and they were very accomodating. The children's menu is very child friendly; the children devoured the food. The service was phenomenal! The owners were super nice. I ordered the Falafel wrap and it was absolutely fantastic. It is the best Greek food I ever had! The atmosphere is very pleasant and the Greek background music is a nice touch. Since I work so close, this will definately be my take out lunch at least twice a month. I highly recommend this place for an authentic and tasty Greek experience.

My wife and I have been to Opa two times now and feel very confident to recommend this outstanding family run business to anyone. Order whatever you like. You will not be disappointed. So far everything has been great.

Excellent gyros, falafels, baklava (sp?), and suprisingly, steak sandwiches. I usually go for the Opa! Wrap, since it comes with a few more veggies. Any single wrap or sandwich will keep you full for hours, and you'll probably have some extra to take home.

This restaurant is by far the best family restaurant. The service is excellent and the food is amazing! They know exactly how to treat families with kids (ie. Bring out the kids did first). If you're looking for a good meal and great service, OPA is the place to be!

A mid-day Yelp Search for falafel brought us to Opa. We thought the interior was nicely appointed (compared to the typical suburban strip center eatery.) The menu is a wide ranging tour of Mediterranean cuisines. This is not a "separate" lunch menu per se, but there are a page of combo specials that is typically a sandwich, a side and soft drink. You will find the ubiquitous "greek potatoes" here (am I the only person who finds "greek potatoes" to be supremely dull?), as well as (pedestrian) onion rings and french fries. Service was friendly as it seems there are several generations working here. The falafel itself was fresh, and so was the pita and toppings. This is a good choice for Mediterranean fare if you are in the area.

Great food and friendly, attentive staff. Loving the grilled chicken salad for lunch, but have never heard anyone say they didn't like what they ordered. They get rushed during lunch on work days, but if you can afford a couple extra minutes to enjoy a good meal, go for it! Only other thing I would add: pistachio baklava... Why does any other kind still exist?

Just had a terrific lunch. The gyro platter was out standing. Everything was fresh and well presented. The place was extremely clean and inviting. The service was world class. Looks like I will be a regular.

I had not eaten Greek/ Mediterranean food in a long time so I stopped here for the first time. I placed a To-go Combo Lamb and Chicken Gryo Platter to split for dinner w teenager later....We ate dinner and thought oh why did I wait so long to try this place? The food is that good!!! I also ordered the Falfel patties appetizers which I loved but she didn't care for it but she doved straight into the lamb and chicken. Very sweet owners and great customer service. Food is worth every bite!!! Will return again soon!!!!

Best Mediterranean restaurant around the area! Cozy interior, nice owners, awesome service, great food, and clean bathrooms! The falafels here are definitely worth getting with your meal. I usually get the opa wrap with chicken. The chicken is moist and flavorful. As a side, go with the Greek potatoes or sweet potato fries. They are both seasoned to perfection. Also, their tzatziki sauce is something to rave about. Overall, yum!

Tried this place for the first time. Didn't realize they had Persian food as well. Gyro was great and so was the kubideh. Service Was welcoming. Will definitely be back

My first visit here and I was pleased. Good lunchtime choice. An gyro is kind of the baseline for judging the food in a Greek restaurant and theirs was cooked and seasoned just right.

Best Greek ever! Friendly and consistent. Delicious. Great portions. Fantastic all the way around!

Quaint atmosphere for a casual lunch. The warm baba ghanoush was flavorful and smoky - delicious with warm pita bread and even crisp cucumber slices (my friend has a gluten intolerance). We enjoyed tender lamb dishes with rice and potato slices. The tzatziki enhanced the flavor! Service was mixed - very friendly female staff person but our male waiter was a bit impatient. Solid choice if you are in the area.

So glad to find a place near home that serves up authentic Greek food! Stopped by with the bf for Saturday lunch a couple weeks ago and we were not disappointed. I asked for a gyro, as I wasn't starving to death, while he got grilled tilapia. When our plates arrived (the prelude to his meal being a good-sized Greek salad that he vacuumed up), we were impressed with the portion. The gyro was probably a standard size, which is perfect for lunch. The meat was seasoned very well and all the veggies inside were crisp. The Tzatziki sauce was excellent and provided a refreshing tartness to everything else in this classic Greek wrap. Bf's plate of tilapia contained 3 filets of the flaky fish. Yes, count them, 3! He was equally surprised and overjoyed. The fish went down with the seasoned rice and he declared that he would like to return for another meal. For a man of few words, this is a real compliment to the establishment. I will try something else next time I go, which I hope is soon. In the meantime, stop by to sample what they've got to offer. You'll be glad you did.

I am not sure where the other reviewers have had authentic Greek food before but this by far is the worst Greek food I have EVER had. I am guessing it has to do with the fact that we heard the girl who runs the place speaking to someone saying she is Persian not Greek. These pictures posted on yelp make this place seem like a really nice restaurant when instead it is inside a strip mall. I am guessing most of these great reviews are from family and friends of the owners. My mother and I ordered the hummus, grape leaves and meatballs as appetizers. The hummus was ok but I think going to the store and buying Sabra hummus would taste MUCH better than what we were served. They topped it with olives but instead of using kalamata olives they put two canned black olives on top. The grape leaves were ok and edible but were served with a pomegranate sauce that was horrible. We asked for a side of tzatziki and I would suggest they serve it that way from now on and ditch that god aweful pomegranate sauce. The meatballs, OH the meatballs!! We were expecting traditional Greek meatballs but instead were served frozen meatballs in a horrid marinara sauce. We took one bite and didn't touch the rest. The main entrees- I ordered a wrap with grilled chicken and a side of "Greek" potatoes. My mother ordered the chicken kabobs and the "Greek" potatoes. Both chicken entrees were pretty much the same- dry chicken covered in what looked like Indian spice turmeric. The "Greek" potatoes were home made potato chips they spiced up... not what you would receive from a tradition Greek restaurant. The chicken kabobs came with a side Greek salad which again had canned black olives instead of kalamata olives. The place was cute, the service was ok but the food was horrible. The owners need to come on down to New Orleans and try our many Greek places to eat down here

Opa! looks pretty unassuming from the outside: a little Greek restaurant tucked into a strip mall next to a Krav Maga self defense place and a flower shop. But holy cow, they've got some stellar babaganoush and Greek salad! My boyfriend and I came here for a lazy afternoon lunch recently (our original intent had been to have brunch nearby, but after a few cups of coffee and a couple hours of chatting, it was already past noon). But I digress... again. We stopped in, and a few other groups were also lunching as the waiter seated us and took a drink order. It's a really cute little restaurant: a vase of flowers behind the counter, nice paint job, wooden tables and chairs spread throughout and lots of windows letting in the light and looking out onto the parking lot and road beyond. The menu's quite extensive with kebabs, wraps, pitas, salads, loads of appetizers and sandwiches and sides. Everything listed sounded good. Finally, we decided to split the baba ganoush appetizer (roasted eggplant mixed with tahini, olive oil, and lemon juice) and split a large Opa! salad (a Greek salad topped with gyro meat and marinated chicken). Delish! The baba ganoush was hands down the best I've ever tasted. It had chunks of eggplant mixed in and was just perfectly seasoned. The pita served was hot and fresh too. Perfect to tear apart and put dollops of the baba ganoush on. And the salad - all I can say is I'm happy we split it. I've never feared leaving a Greek restaurant still hungry and Opa! didn't disappoint. A huge Greek salad was buried under a ton of expertly seasoned and cooked gyro and chicken, feta cheese, tomatoes, olives, onions, cucumbers, and tzaziki sauce. The tzaziki was layered on a little thick for my taste (no worries, I'll just have it put on the side next time), but it was still great. And I was impressed how much meat they put on top - yum, yum, yum! We really enjoyed it all. When dessert time rolled around, my boyfriend was feeling particularly indulgent, so baklava was in order. It was a good choice. The baklava was just as it should have been: thick, honey filled, walnut-ty, and just the right amount of sweet. Service was very good: our waiter was attentive and quick to accommodate requests, clear the plates, and process the check. He did forget to bring back the credit card he rang up, but luckily my boyfriend noticed after he signed the check and it was no problem to pick it up from behind the register. I thoroughly enjoyed the food at Opa! and I'd certainly go back when in a yen for Greek cuisine strikes in Suwanee.

So far I am a fan. Their Greek Potatoes were not what I was expecting but a nice side dish. This was a surprise that this place was as good as it was. The Gyros were very good. I am going to go back and try some other dishes and I would suggest for anyone to stop by and give it a try.

Should change name to Hopa, as in I Hopa they can learn how to cook a decent meal. "Greek Potatoes" were greasy and limp....lamb was dry, hidden under a ton of sauce and feta cheese. Tea was cloudy and old, hardly fresh brewed. Never again.

Didn't try gyros but we ordered 3 different types of kebab and all were much better than average. Meat was tender, flavorful, good marinated taste. Nice music, good service and Napoleon for desert completed our lovely dinner. Recommended!

What?! No reviews yet?! Well, it was our first time here... Service & food were great. Portions and prices are very reasonable. Sweet tea: our waitress warned us that they use Rosemary water so their sweet tea is "different" It tasted good nonetheless--- I even asked for a to-go cup! Opa gyro wrap: Yum!! Their tzatziki sauce was good. My boyfriend ordered the regular gyro wrap, he said it was good also. Greek potatoes: sliced very thin like potato chips... Not the big, chunky, lemony potato kind. I like it. Fries: crispy and good!! Kabob platter: ehhh so so. The chicken had a tart flavor. Not a big fan. The beef was good. The lamb tasted like meatloaf. Baklava - YUM!!! so good!!! It was fresh and delicious! My boyfriend and I devoured it even though we were already full. There's always room for dessert :) We will definitely come back to try other things on the menu... And more baklava!

Stopped in here the other day and was expecting a order-at-the-counter, quick kinda place, but was surprised to see that this was set up more like a mom and pop diner. I had the gyro, which was alright. The wait staff was very nice, but brought out food at varying times. My son's meatballs on his spaghetti were very cold. I thought the food was slightly over priced as our lunch bill for 4 ended up being around $35 (plus tip for dine in).

We came here for dinner last night. Really good food. The pita bread was fresh and baba ghanoush was outstanding! Of course, the best was at the end - homemade baklava that was to die for. The owner (Mandy) is very friendly and the place is well decorated. Will be back very soon...

Worst customer service ever. it's a busy restaurant. At first they let me and my girlfriend sit in the middle table of the restaurant. then someone else comes in and tells me that if we can move to a table at the corner right next to the door. It is 46 degrees outside and every time someone comes in we are getting hit by the cold wind. I asked for a different table and the man promised the next available table will be given to us. 3 other customer came in without any reservation and they got bettrr sittings than we do. Waited 15 min to just get drinks been almost 30 min no food. Never coming back to this crappy place again.

Went in for a dinner one Sunday evening awhile back and had a pleasant meal. I don't remember details of the meal except that we were planning on going back. When I went back, it wasn't for an in-service meal, but rather for catering. I called and inquired about their catering menu and was pleased to learn that everything was made to order. Kebobs were suggested but I don't think "Greek" when I think of Kebobs. I wanted lamb, moussaka, dolmatos and spanokopita. She made a tray of all three of those and a gyro meat and chicken along with Greek salad and tzatziki and pita bread. Portion size was generous, was very reasonably priced and best of all, delicious. Everyone loved the food. The pick-up of the food was a little challenging but I was prepared as they advised with 2 pairs of extra hands to help me carry the food to the car. One thing I'd like to see in the future is made-to-order trays so that for small gatherings, a tray or two could be ordered and picked up. There have been many times since that I've had a few people visiting and would just love to have been able to call up and order a tray of moussaka or a tray of meat combo of lamb/chicken/gyro and I'd also love to see pastitsio on their menu in the future because that is also a tray that I'd order for a gathering. Will definitely be back again and again.

I love Greek food, and I can be a total falafel snob. That being said, the falafel was on point. It was not too dry, not too moist, perfectly seasoned, and served with a delicious side of hummus. Great portion sizes too. It takes some time to prepare, but that's forgiveable considering the quality of the food. Will definitely return for a date night!

One of the best greek places around! Been here a few times since its close to my work, staff is pretty friendly and I love the food! The prices are not that bad, pretty reasonable. The interior needs some work and updating however, its clean just outdated.

We decided to stop here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and so glad we did. Wow, this place is amazing! We ordered both the hummus and the dolma grape leaves for appetizers. I ordered a chicken gyro and my husband ordered the kabob plate. The food and service were both excellent! If you are craving a little Greek food this is the place you need to check out.

The food is very fresh and very very good. Hummus is delicious! I have ordered catered meals for customers from the Middle East and they were pleasantly pleased with the food choices. I love their "nachos" and could eat this every single day of the week. It was recommended by a co-worker and I have gone back several times for lunch and have never been disappointed.

Love this place... Their sweet potato fries...... will make u wanna kick a midget they are so good. One thing that annoyed me is that the waitress called the GYRO a JI-ROH,, and it was like nails on a chalk board. Other than that.. the food is AMAZING.. I just have to think out the box and order something other than the JI-ROH.

My girlfriend and I were extremely hungry one night and couldn't decide what we wanted for dinner. We were in the mood for falafels for the longest time so did a quick yelp search and found Opa! The restaurant is nice and casual but not too casual, we got take out but both of us thought that having a nice group of friends here would be perfect as well. Being vegetarian, there were a lot of options for us to eat. The hummus platter, falafel platter, falafel wraps, and veg wraps were just a few of the options among many. We both got the falafel wrap and one bite into it we both leaned back and said "yes, this is right." lol. The falafels were fluffy, warm, and bursting with flavor. Add in a side of hot sauce if your into spicy and its just right. Everything was fresh and delicious! I would definitley recommend Opa! to anyone.

I went there for lunch and had their combo Gyros plate and it wasn't bad! I had purchased a voucher on double deals and the owner didn't let me use it because she said the voucher said it can't be use on "Special" items which the menu didn't indicate "special" but just "combo". She stood there and argues with me when she clearly knew it was not the customer fault. She finally gave in and said she would honored the voucher after she had already made me upset. I went ahead and paid instead of using the voucher. I don't recommend this place to anyone if you valued customer service! And be careful if using coupon or voucher. She obviously don't really care for repeat customer!

Was craving middle eastern food and saw this not far from the driving range after some golf practice so I though I would give it a try. Very small place, much smaller then I thought it would be. Ordered the gyro with the all the fixings. And it was pretty good. Decent amount of food. The potato though which tasted like hashbrown was a bit cold and was soggy. I also ordered the grape leaves and was very very disappointed. Don't know what to call and where to start. The grape leaves was over cooked and the filling was no seasoned and dry. The sauce tasted like soy sauce with sugar or a watered down teryaki sauce. It just ruined the dish even more. Had one bite and threw the rest away.

What a great little find this was! Great service and the food was excellent. The owner was also very friendly and attentive. Everyone ordered different things so we all got to try several items. Kabobs (filet) were generous and perfectly cooked - the accompanying grilled tomatoes were perfect. Gyro plate - w/ mushrooms & onions topped with tzatziki and hot sauce, greek salad, greek potatoes and warm pita -- fantastic. Lentil soup (special), Mirza Ghasemi, Dolmas -- all also wonderful. My youngest had spaghetti and meatballs and ate every bit of it (a rare occurrence indeed) -- so it must have been great too. My husband had the sweet tea, which is not your usual southern sweet tea, but persian-style made with rose water -- and the rest of had their hot persian tea. We will definitely be back!!

So delicious!! I could eat here all day everyday if my bank account wasn't so empty. I've always just had the opa! gyro with the greek potatoes and a coke. The lamb was great along with everything in the wrap. The greek potatoes were also great except one time I had them and they weren't as crispy. The service is great and very attentive. The to go orders are handled thoroughly and quickly. They offer a couple coupons for the month (10% off to go etc.). This place is definitely worth a try!!

Went for lunch today with a friend. Unimpressive looking restaurant in a strip mall, but after reading other people's reviews I wasn't expecting anything fancy. It kinda looks like an ordinary deli restaurant. The service was friendly and quick (lunch was at 1:00, not terribly busy. Most of the lunch crowd was finishing up). The food was a tad on the pricey side for lunch. My lunch was about $18 with tip and tax (drank water), but worth it. My friend and I both ordered a cup of lentil soup ($3) and I had the lamb gyro plate with a side Greek salad ($11). Both were delicious. I will definitely come again!

My awesome partner-in-crime and I were craving Indian food down the street, but that was a fail since the Indian place was closed around 1pm on Sunday. Luckily for my yelp app, we found this Mediterranean place called "OPPA" (so my partner calls it). Nice chill environment and great service too. My partner got the Gyro wrap and I got the Opa wrap with greek potatoes. Partner loved the food and devoured the thing and left some wrapping paper on the plate. As for me, I was thoroughly playing with my food in my mouth to extract every flavor out of it. The lamb meat was very tasty and strangely I did not feel gaseous after eating it. Ended up eating half and taking it home and eating it later (still delicious though the slight sogginess). :D Also got some of their homemade hot sauce which pretty much tasted like mexican salsa with a slight "kick" to it. My partner immediately felt the kick (I don't understand how she tasted the kick before me since she was slightly sickly :P ), but as for me... didn't feel it until my second try. Not my preference of hot sauce, but it can complement some taste-buds with the need for something spicy. Overall: Good food and great service! Yum yum rawr!

I went there three times in a row within 2 weeks, I'm taking all my friends there = ) Gyros- the best. Beef kabob combo - meet was tender, seasoned, grilled well. The grilled vegetables - mushroom, onion, green bell pepper & tomatoes were great along with a plate of Greek salad. The table next me was having the Opa appetizer sampler which looked so good. I'm try that next time. Clean, friendly, comfortable place with great foods. I regret that I did not have cameras with me. Maybe next time = )

We found this gem over the weekend and loved it. We ordered take-out but would like to go eat in next time. The food was great. The Opa wrap would be messy to eat without a knife and fork but the taste was great!! We will definitely eat here in the near future.

I've been a regular at Opa for a few months now. My husband was the one who introduced this cute little restaurant to me, he frequents Opa at least 2 times a week for lunch. The people who work here are some of the friendliest restaurant staff that I've ever met. You're usually greeted with a big, friendly "Hello! How are you today?" when you walk through the door. The sweet tea served here is amazing, they add a bit of rose water to it so there's a bit of a different taste to it. We always take a cup of it to go. My husband usually orders the Persian chicken sandwich or the Opa Chicken wrap, both are delicious. Also make sure to try their Greek potatoes, they are sliced thin like thick potato chips with some of them crispy, some soft and some in between. I usually like to get either the falafel wrap or the tilapia dish, depending on what mood I'm in. The roasted veggies and rice that come with their platters and dishes - yummy! There's plenty of parking and service is great and fast.

i came here with my church group on a sunday with high hopes for a Mediterranean fix. boy was my wallet in for a surprise. the food was ok but the owners are VERY stingy...they charged extra for EVERYTHING...my friend was charged extra for 4 slices of pita bread, and i got charged for a small dollop of Tzatziki sauce so watch out if you ask for anything not on your plate. also, you should avoid this restaurant at ALL costs if you plan to come here in a large group and pay separately. our server (and probably restaurant co-owner) had a rough time calculating the final cost repeatedly (this is with her using a calculator too) and i ultimately had to calculate my total for her. my order came out to $16 after tax+tip for the Opa platter (salad, lamb, 3 slices of pita bread) which certainly is NOT the best value for what you get...for $16 you might as well a eat a nice dinner elsewhere. also, my friend ordered a kabob dinner which has 2 small strips of meat over rice and a few vegetables...it came out to $18 for him. ouch. he was incredibly bitter and vowed never to return. as for me, i decided to write a review to share my experience with yelp. i can see why it wasn't that busy when we visited and i will be avoiding this place in the future. i fell in love with Mediterranean food after eating at "Mediterranean Grill" near emory but sadly, Opa failed to impress me. Owell.

I usually avoid strip-mall restaurants, but fortunately for me Yelp knows what's up. This was an EXCELLENT Greek place. I ordered the Opa! Wrap with Lamb and it was incredible. The Greek potatoes were also quite nice. On top of that, they have Greek beer!! I will definitely recommend this to my friends.

I love this place. We try to hit it up at least once every couple weeks or so. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food is tasty. I might say it's a little on the pricier side, but when I get a craving I can't stay away. I love their baba ganoush (sp?), and although it might be pricey, I love that warm soft pita to dip! I always order the Opa Wrap with chicken in it. The fries are super crispy and good. The wrap is a little on the messy side, but worth it.

My sister and I were fiending for some Greek food, and we found this place nearby~ It's standard, with nothing tasting remarkable or more than just 'okay.' We shared the dolmatos, which we thought went a little overboard with the mint (and we didn't care for the sauce it came slathered in). I liked the eggplant platter (pretty generous in portion), but my sister wasn't crazy about her chicken kebab (a little overly salted, she claims).

The food was extraordinary, the service was great, the atmosphere was warm and cozy, and did I mention how much we LOOOOVED the food? We will most definitely be back. The gyro plate was so delicious, and the portions are great. Must try the falafel appetizer!

Not a bad spot for a quick Gyro. Certianly not the best, but not bad and its local for me. The folks here used to run Baba in Cumming, which ran out of a space in a gas station. They make a great plate, not true Greek though. They are Iranian and cook some Greek dishes but the influence is Middle Eastern. Try the Greek Potatoes, they are fresh potato chips with oregano. They are good. As a Greek myself, I have some pretty high standards on Greek restaurants.

I work right down the way from this restaurant and it never gets old! The food is always amazing and the people there are very friendly. Always a pleasant experience! My favorite things to get there is the Greek Chicken salad (so much good stuff on there!) or the Grilled Chicken Wrap. The boss man loves the Chicken Kabob plate. Hummus is delicious and comes with yummy warm pita. Give it a try! You won't be disappointed.

My wife and I are regulars here so obviously, we love it. It's really good food for a fair price. The review talking about how expensive this place is, is just incorrect. We've rarely spent more than $25 here and if you can't afford that, then you shouldnt eat out. I love the opa plate, rose tea, baklava, and kubideh kabobs. Service is always friendly! What more could you really ask for?

My wife and I had been wanting to try Opa since we were on a budget I purchased a $25 gift certificate for Opa from Restaurant.com . It stated on the certificate that we had to spend $35 which we were fully prepared to do. We presented our coupon to the server before ordering and the manager came to the table stating that they would not honor it but that we had to spend $40 and she would give us 50% off. We not only had to spend more money but we had to order food to go as we had already purchased an appetizer, 2 dinners and drinks. The first appetizer we ordered spankopita we were told they were out of. We then ordered the meatballs which were very good. We were going to order a beer and wine and were told that they do not have a liquor license but were working on getting one. We did have lamb and a chicken plate from the menu which we both enjoyed. We had two chicken parm. sandwiches to go and requested that the sauce be on the side so that it would not be soggy the next day. The sandwich was soggy and had green peppers and onions on it that neither of us like so reluctantly we had to throw the sandwiches out. Friendly people, bad service, food average.

We love Opa! It is so nice to have a consistently good restaurant in the area. The food is always hot and fresh and the owners are pleasant. The wraps are great and my favorite thing is the Chicken Plate. It's kind of like a sampler platter with a lot of great flavor! The baklava is divine!

I went last night with 3 other ladies and 2 toddlers. The staff was very patient and sweet, and went out of thier way to bring my sons food first, and bring balloons for the kids. the food was AMAZING! we ordered the opa! apetizer platter which is great for trying a lot of different things, such as the hummus, falafel, stuffed grape leaves, and some little fritters that i cant remember the name of. lol. i ordered chicken fingers for my son and they took a fresh chicken breast, cut it in half batered it and fried it. it looked as delicious as my food. my two year old is a picky eater, but he ate everything in front of him. We all had a variety of foods. i had the chicken cabob dinner with grilled veggies, saffron rice, greek salad, pita bread. my friend had the lamb dinner, and my two other friends had gyros, one with fries the other with greek potatoes. we tried each others food, and we all agreed that everything was insanely good! we were all so full that we had to ask for our deserts to go. my only complaint, is that it was a little pricy, but the food was definatley worth it!

using my yelp mad skills i took a group of coworkers to have dinner hear and so glad I stopped by!! We were greeted like family as soon as we walked in. The friendliest people I have had in a restaurant establishment in a long time. They were full of smiles, life, and a great sense of humor 5 stars on customer service We started with a suggested appetizer that included freshly made humus which was super Yum!!! I had the Persian lamb with rice dinner OMG makes me want to go back time and time again!!!!!!!!! Huge fan of this place and highly recommend you stop by. Perfectly cooked and rice was light and fluffy and grilled veggies tasted like they were just picked! I will say when I pulled up to this shopping plaza I was a little skeptic at first but don't fret go in and give it a shot you will be glad you did!!!

The food was great, but the service and ambiance left a lot to be desired. We sat in the newly expanded section (I assume this was the case) of the restaurant. It came complete with distracting flickering lights, drywall dust on the walls and unfinished painted walls. The food was indeed great. I has the lamb kabob, and my wife had the combo platter with gyro ground beef and chicken. The lamb was a little on the tough side, but other than that the food was delicious all around. The service was very very slow the entire time. We were there for 90 minutes before asking for our check. Our food came out 15 minutes after the food came out for a table that was seated 20 minutes after we sat down. Maybe they should add staff to accommodate for the new section.

NOPA! My Honey and I decided to try this restaurant today because we love gyros. We arrived late in the afternoon and were warmly greeted by staff. We seat ourselves and eventually place our order. I ordered the traditional gyro while my husband ordered the gyro platter which comes with a salad, potatoes and pita slices. While our food was delivered hot and fresh, but just lacking in flavor. We believe that the sauce was "off" and I found myself longing for balsamic vinegar, (which I sometimes carry in my purse). My gyro was very "one note" and just did not have a balanced flavor. I noticed that my husband's potatoes were very thin and poorly seasoned. They obviously cooked them without seasoning, stacked them and sprinkled seasoning on top because only a couple of the potatoes were seasoned while the ones on the bottom were very bland. I prefer to have my food seasoned from the inside out which means it has to be seasoned BEFORE it is cooked. Opa! has potential but just needs to make some adjustments to its recipes. Although we paid a lot more than usual, we received a lot less and that is not okay. Unfortunately, we will not be returning for an encore.

In this visit i tried egg plant wrap and recommended it to my friend whose a Veggie mmmmm and we relished it to the last bite. They cokked egg plant so well with their secret ingredients and the toppings which they added to it really went well. Another HIT receipe from Oppa...!

We loved this fun spot! We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We had no trouble finding a seat, although it did start filling up pretty quickly after we sat down. The menu was great, and as always, I had a hard time deciding what to order. I had the falafel wrap and savored every bite. Against my better judgment, I could not stop myself from eating the whole thing (and left stuffed!)! The pita tasted fresh - the warm and spice-filled falafel was covered in the perfect amount of creamy tzatziki sauce. The Greek potatoes were a tasty side, but I liked my son's extra crispy fries even better. It was a perfect lunch - one that may have required a brief nap afterwards. My husband enjoyed his gyro as much as I enjoyed my wrap. My only regret is not trying the baklava.

OPA!!!!! Delicious Mediterranean food is being served here, plated to dine in or boxed to go. Had no idea what we wanted for lunch so I yelped the area We were headed in and found this cozy corner restaurant. We dined in and watched food network, my favorite channel on the tv's inside this cozy place that had me feeling like I was home... Looked over the menu and then decided on the Pita/Taziki app, Greek Salad/Tilapia, and The Opa chicken wrap/ sweet potatoes!!! FANTASTIC chicken wrap with taziki, hot sauce smothered all over the tender grilled chicken loaded inside the moist Pita.... It was so good we ordered another to take home, Now, my salad was good. I'm wondering would it been better with chicken from the opa wrap...hmmm..(Still was good with tilapia) Not crowded, sweet waitress and very attentive. Not too far from home, so we will be coming back for Greek treats at OPA.... :)

Solid choice for Greek food along PIB. We had the Opa! Gyro wrap, the falafel wrap, and the kids chicken finger plate. The wraps were HUGE, filled with tomatoes, onions, tzatziki sauce, and other goodies. Very tasty! The potatoes - both Greek and French fries - were spiced to perfection and cooked just right. I must say the fries were super crunchy. We came hungry and left stuffed. No room for baklava, but there will be next time.

This is one of my go to places for great gyros! My husband loves the chicken kabobs and I always order the gyro platter! Consistently good food served with a smile and a Persian Tea while I wait which I just love! See you soon Opa!

Good clean place and the owner is very welcoming. Food is so-so - the Felafals looked and tasted artificial. The grilled fish was burnt and the pita was on the greasy side. Mediterranean food with an American twist. Not my idea of authentic.

We came here late one flurry night because we were craving gyros and this place had good reviews. We showed up pretty late and close to closing but despite that the owners were super friendly and happy to take our order to go or even if we ate there. We both ordered gyro combos but with different sides. I got greek potatoes and Ricky got onion rings. It comes with also a drink for around $9 a combo. We both agreed after eating that it was a delicious even to go. The owners seem like a happy family and we got to chat with them for a little and they are all super nice. I love family runner restaurants because it gives you that loving feeling that they really care about their customers. And the interior I really liked also with the cool carpets. Overall, I really like the family who own and run the restaurant, the location and easy parking, the food is delicious, and the price is good. I def recommend this place.

Opa has good greek food. I rarely come to this part of Duluth but have driven here just for Opa. They know me and that is always a good feeling. I love the hummus. It has a rich creamy texture and good to the tongue with warm pita bread triangles. This feels like a small family owned and operated restaurant and I believe it is. Call in your to go order ahead of time about 15 minutes and it will be ready. They have 2 televisions inside in case you have to wait and will offer you a water and complimentary mints are at the bar. In total, there are about 15 tables inside including a couple of high bar style. The gyros are great. They are a mix of lamb and beef. Add feta cheese for even more flavor. They offer an open face version that comes with a side greek salad. Both are approximately $11 with tax which seems a bit pricey but it is a very filling meal. Treat yourself.

This is the best gyro spot iv eaten at in GA! We ordered the lamb gyro combo with Greek potatoes. The price and portion size is nice! The lamb was nice and tender, and very flavorful, veggies were nice and fresh. The potatoes are to die for! I will definitely be back here. Very nice and well kept place. Can't wait to try rest of the menu.

We are obsessed. :) The food is really fantastic, it speaks for itself really. The lamb gyro is great, the gyro plate with the greek potatos (YUM!!!!) and that pistachio desert is really off the chain. Eventually, maybe... I'll get tired of the gyro and venture to the kabobs but until then I'm going to enjoy my gorge on the greek greatness. We just moved to the area a few weeks ago and we've gone pretty regularly (about twice a week) because of the food, service and convenience. The family owners of Opa! are great, always so friendly and accommodating. This place is pretty busy during lunch hour and dinner but the service is fast so tables open up quickly. If you aren't up for the short wait they do to-go which is just divine. It's a quaint place, it's not what I would call a dive but it's definitely not a luxurious space just casual and comfortable family eating. They handle a party of two as well as a party of 8 and you can guarantee good conversation with the family -if you are looking for it. HIGHLY recommend you stop in. Great food, great people and an overall great experience.

My wife and I have been here nearly 20 times over the past two years. This is the only place we have found decent Greek food. Most times we order takeout; however we have really enjoyed the times we dined in. I especially liked the Greek beer. The owners are extremely nice and always willing to ensure we have the best experience. We highly recommend Opa to anyone, if you have never tried Greek food you will not be disappointed!
