I came here today for free cheese fondue. The service was awesome! We got free refills on bread and veggies for the cheese. I recommend the cheddar cheese with honey wheat bread. Then we got tiramisu fondue for dessert. It was displayed nice But too sweet for my taste. I prefer the yin-yang (half-white chocolate and half-chocolate). Can't beat the service though! The place had dim lighting..great for romantic dates.

YUMM....I definitely do not go here enough!!! chocolate fondue = heaven The food is muy delicioso!!!! I love making our food and plus its a good date thing to do...no awkward silences =) Really tasty alcoholic drinks too!!! Waiters have always been exceptional and entertaining. They always have funny, interesting stories/conversations to tell us when they are preparing the different fondues. Look out for their promo nights for discounts, because it can get pretty costly. P.S. don't make fun of me when I leave the restaurant with cheese, sauce, and chocolate all over my face/clothes/hair/whole body

More, more, more spinach, artichoke cheese fondue pleassse!!! I always leave this place stuffed and super satisfied! Everything I've ever tried here has been delicious. I've always had a good time here and service has always been top notch. The manager has even taken our pics before, and gave us a password to retrieve them on their website. My only complaint would be their decor. I've never been to any other Melting Pot, so I'm not sure if this is a franchise 'thing" or not; but I def. think they could use an overhaul. Be sure to add your email address to their email list, they send out special promotions all the time.

Wonderful! I came here on my birthday and I have no regrets! I walked in the restaurant and thank God the restaurant was empty. I came with my family and the host asked us what the event was. I told him it was my birthday and he congratulated me and gave me a birthday card. The birthday card I suppose was signed by all the employees at the restaurant. I thought it was very sweet but my mom thought it was shitty and awkward. Anyways, we ordered this fondue appetizer and all I can remember is that it had beer and cheese in it. They gave us chips and an assortment of vegetables. They mix the stuff in the fondue pot right in front of you. It was pretty cool. For the main course I ordered a plate of steak, shrimp, and some other thing. I dipped it in a wine sauce in the pot. Dessert was free since it was my birthday. They put chocolate in a pot and gave you a plate of different sweets and fruit that you could dip. I recommend this to anyone who wants delicious food that will fill you up for a couple years (sarcasm).

What can you say? It's Melting pot and who doesn't know about Fondue? Just wish I didn't have to ask the server to refill our drinks. My friends all liked it. Would be a good date spot.

You get SO much food! I love their different options and cooking styles. You have to get dessert too. My only complaint is the area this is located. I would still suggest going, though.

The Melting Pot is a great dining experience! If you have never been to a fondue place, than this is where you shoud be. I have been to a couple different locations and have never had a negative experience. My biggest tip would be to check what specials they are running before going. Sometimes they will give you a free $50 gift vouchure with the purchase of a $100 gift card. You will easily spend the $100 here for 2 people, so buy the gift card for yourself and keep the $50 for the next time! They have wine tastings too, so check their website for upcoming events and check it out!

Fondue really isn't my cup of tea...I realized when I was there that it was a bit like shabu shabu but shabu shabu is better (in my opinion). Our server was extremely nice, I forgot her name but she was really helpful and gave excellent service. We ordered cheese fondue off of their tropical (?) menu. All I could taste was alcohol so we requested another cheese fondue. The main course fondue was eh ok. We got to order two "broths" and only one of them was good. The other one was too salty. Let's just say: I've always been curious to try fondue, I'm glad I gave it a shot and now I know...I don't like it.

I am not a sweet person but their meat and veggies fondue is incredible... For the novice as well the newcomer ... this place is a must go!!!

  • Tracy P.

Ok I didn't like the fondue experience.... If I wanted to cook my own food I would have done so at home!!!! The cheese fondue was just barely ok the beer gave it a funky taste... The meat entrees come to the table raw and you cook everything in a pot with long, tiny, little prong forks... I felt like I was working over a hot steamy pot in the kitchen... Not a relaxing experience I couldn't really tell if the food was done or not. I won't be back...it's expensive and you do all the labor and you leave full and cheese bloated but not satisfied.... Yick.

Great for the experience. Staff is really friendly and polite. My suggestion is go just for the dessert and save some money on doing the full 4 course meal.

Dined here on Valentine's Day and had a very good meal although it was quite expensive since it was a special menu for the night. This was my first time coming here but my date use to work for the Melting Pot and took me on a culinary tour with getting a dual table for the hot oil and broth pots. I found the evening to be fun and I had fun playing with my food and trying out different concoctions of steak, chicken, shrimp and lobster with veggies. I will come back on a regular night when I find a coupon because it is still a pricey place even on a non-special occasion.

This is my date night go-to place. Service is always great and friendly and the slower pace of the dinner is good for date night.

In my opinion, the Melting Pot is a better fondue experience than Dante's Down the Hatch. (This is saying a lot for me, as I'm usually a pretty big snob about chain restaurants.) It's also cheaper, but don't come here on a night when you want a cheap (or fast) dinner. Fondue is not just a meal, it's an experience! My personal favorite is the cheese fondue. I actually sort of think everything else is a waste of stomach space. Not that the meat entrees aren't good, but the cheese is just so yummy. I also really like the chocolate. I mean, melted chocolate with fruits and pound cake for dipping... why wouldn't that be good? My husband and I have been to the Duluth location 2 or 3 times, and our service has always been attentive and wonderful. Our server seemed excited about the menu and happy to make recommendations and answer questions. Whether you are a fondue aficionado or wanting to have your first fondue experience, I highly recommend the Melting Pot.

Of course it's expensive but so is Dante's. It's been so long since I've been to Dante's (6+ years) that I can't compare the 2 (which most people seem to do). We ordered cocktails. My partner got sangria which was good. I ordered a blackberry picorita but got a raspberry caprihnea. The raspberry drink was my second choice so I just kept it. The food was pretty good. We got the traditional fondue which was very good. I got a caesar salad which was great but my partner's salad with raspberry vinagrette was drowning in dressing. For the entree, we got the mojo cooking style and had the selection of tuna, sirloin, chicken and filet. From what I remember about Dante's is that you cooked it in oil and this was more like boiling your food which is not great. It was still tasty but I think it would have been better without cooking it in broth. The chocolate fondue and selection of things to dip was awesome. That and the cheese was the best part. Overall, it was ok. For OTP, I guess it's a fine place to go. I hadn't really planned on dropping $100 on date night that was going to be followed by playing putt putt, but I still had a good time and the food was good. I might have to give Dante's another try sometime or maybe I can just make fondue at home for cheaper!

Just had a delightful fondue experience over here, with server Ryan tending to our fondue needs. They looked like they were doing pretty decent business, which was good to see. We got:swiss cheese starter, then we split an entree, then the chocolate turtle finale. Cheese course: They provide plenty of bread, pieces of apple, and various veggies to dip in the cheese. I recommend splitting an entree, as the cheese and chocolate courses are extremely filling just by themselves. We got the meat variety plate (beef, chicken, salmon, shrimp) and the veggie broth. We got the chocolate turtle, which had pieces of pecan. Not sure if we noticed any caramel, but it didn't matter as it was quite tasty. They provide some banana, marshmellows, brownies and similar things for dipping. I'd further recommend not bringing small kids, who are best kept away from scalding hot fondue pots. We generally don't eat this fancy, but we'll probably stop back in for some special occasion.

Came here 7/23/13. Had the traditional Swiss fondue, entree was steak, chicken, and shrimp, California salad, and the original chocolate fondue for dessert, Every course was delicious,my service was excellent , it was a great meal!

I love taking guests out of town here. I give them a warning that they'll have to cook their own food so they don't get surprised. It really doesn't take forever though. It's great for a party because everyone gets to know each other. Its expensive. Not like Dante's but still pricey. If you want the fondue experience without the cost, I'd recommend going by here for just dessert. They have a small chocolate fondue for about $15 which is more than enough for 2. I love that you can just pop in at 10 p.m. on a Friday night for this and they don't freak out. (Most places you need to make a reservation) I make it a must when I'm craving something extra special.

After visiting a handful of fondue restaurants, I have to say that this is near the top of the list for many reasons. The first of which being that is it slightly less expensive than other places, but it is by no means cheap. The second reason being that after dinner, if you randomly decide that you'd like a chocolate dessert fondue to round out the night, you can have it, no problem. Other places need a day or twos notice. If you've never done fondue before, I think this is a great place to start off. The cheese fondue with bread, fruit, and vegetables is a yummy opening and very easy. There's no cooking involved: simply stab, dunk, and enjoy. I love the chicken with the delicious dipping sauces. But make sure you cook your meat long enough -- you don't want to end up sick. Also... when you stab your meat, stick it right into the oil. Don't transfer it to your plate... just put it straight into the oil. That way you have a clean (sanitary) plate to place it on when it comes out of the oil. Let it cool before you eat. Burned tongues taste no food. And that's just sad. And I would 100% recommend getting dessert. If for no other reason than to say you had it. But it's so good, and there are few other places where you can get fondue for dessert on a whim. Do it. You'll thank me later.

Came here for my "leaving Atlanta dinner" with my closest friends. We ordered 2 types of cheese fondue which was alright, the entree had steak and chicken which was okay, what gives this mediocre place these stars is the dessert. If the food and appetizer was a little better, I would have given it 5 stars. Again, this 4 star is only for the dessert. We ordered dreamy oreo dessert fondue. It had oreolike flavor with white chocolate swirling inside the boiling lava. It didn't matter what you dipped in there. It was orgasmic in your mouth! It was so good, it would have your eyes roll back of your head. Once you snap back into reality, you will then sigh.

Went for Valentines Day 2012. Found the restaurant to be dirty, out dated and smelled of old cooking oil. The prices are expensive and the experience forgettable. We smelled of the food and oil when departing the establishment. We will not return.

I absolutely love eating at The Melting Pot, but the Duluth location is my favorite! This means a lot since I live about 45 mins away from this location. I used to go to the midtown location, but I feel like their service varies too much over the years when they get particularly busy. However, I can't say that the Duluth location has the same problem. They have always impressed with accommodating all our requests and have yet to disappoint! Gotta have great service to go with great food!!

I have never been disappointed with the Melting Pot. Good food, great service, and fun. I have posted a picture of the spread from a recent birthday dinner that says more than any words I could write. Be forewarned that it is expensive. We had dinner for four with wine and it was $300. But once in a while for a special occasion, this would be my choice.

This was my best eating experience. It wasn't just the food, which was great, but I had the best server. I came in 30 minutes before closing and I felt awful about it but my server was bright and cheerful. She made the experience amazing.

Summary: Melt into the melting pot with cocktails & chocolate fondue! But pricey. My cousin, friend, and I came here for Gwinnett Restaurant Week, which by the way was hard to find anywhere to go without a reservation. Also the website was down for the menus which was highly inconvenient, but alas back to topic. So we decided to try our luck and walked into the Melting Pot even though they told us on the phone they are all booked until 830pm. The manager saw the host tell us they don't have any tables available at 6:00pm and was like "hold on one second!" and he was super nice enough to get us an empty table. By the way we saw a couple of different open tables. Our server's name was Christina and she was super nice, provided awesome recommendations, and gave us above-and-beyond service! With the Gwinnett Restaurant Week menu, we got cheese fondue, shrimp, steak, chicken, and vegetables with our broth, and chocolate fondue. We also got some drinks which were awesome! Christina recommended I get the White Peach cosmo and it delivered. My cousin's Deep South Tea and my friend's Tipsy Turtle were also awesome! If you want a pretty drink, get the Tipsy Turtle, if you want a fruity drink get the White Peach Cosmo, if you want a strong drink get the Deep South Tea. For our cheese fondue, we got the French onion gruyere. It was an upcharge of $2 for the whole pot that we all shared, but it tasted pretty great. Only thing is that you get full really fast. No one told me I had to pace myself :P. So now i'm telling everyone else to pace themselves. Don't come here super hungry and chow down on cheese fondue with bread and veggies. They also bring apples to dip into the cheese, but that tasted really weird to me. For our meat broth, we chose the "mojo" which also had an upcharge of $5 for the whole pot. In the end though, although we havent' tried the regular beef broth, it probably would have been just as great as the mojo without the upcharge. They provide lots of different sauces and a couple cheeses to try the meats with. You cook everything yourself. So the experience was fun. Christina told us how long to cook everything so we had it pretty pat down. However, when you first get your pot, chicken takes longer than two minutes to cook so I would wait like 5-7 minutes for the chicken to cook in the broth. The steak is awesome! The shrimp with the curry sauce is awesome too. I kind of felt like I was at a hot pot place. I guess the concept is similar. The chocolate fondue part was our favorite! We melted into the melting pot. We chose the Yin Yang which quickly mixes and doesn't stay pretty long. It comes with strawberries, blondies, brownies, pound cake, pineapple, banana, rice crispies, and marshmallows. This part was amazing. I would come back just for the experience of the chocolate fondue with a date. The atmosphere is romantic and upscale. We had some Malbec wine which was really good. All in all, the melting pot is awesome! However, we were biased because we had the Gwinnett Restaurant Week price instead of the regular price. I think if we had paid regular, it would not have felt worth it, but for the price that we got it was above and beyond an awesome experience.

Oh melting pot how I love thee. This location was just as fantastic as any other. Superb server with the best personality ever. I was with a large party which proved to be an advantage in the fondue environment. We had 4 pots which means 4 different cheeses, 4 different broths / oils and 4 yummies. So to start... The Wisconsin cheddar is always fabulous, and this time I tried the alpine which was lovely especially with the apple slices. I had the surf n turf for my entree and this time got to try the oil to cook in. Wow. Loved it. For our yummies I tried the dark chocolate and the creme brûlée. I loved both equally. Seriously a great place to have a lingering dinner. Makes you slow down and enjoy each other and life in general.

I came here not too long ago with my partner and I fell in love. I had my doubts because I've never been to a fondue restaurant and thought it was going to be a bunch of cheese/chocolates and small meats/fruits that won't fill me up. But was I wrong! We ordered the four course menu which is HIGHLY recommended. I ate so much I barely had room for dessert. Luckily they managed to pack it up for us. The service was excellent as well, I will definitely be back here!

Another Gwinette Restaurant Week visit- but more of a DIY night than a typical night out.A colleague of mine argued beforehand, "Why pay so much for a meal that you end up cooking yourself? It's silly." But I loved having control over the "done-ness" and amount of what I was putting on my plate. Course One- Spinach and artichoke cheese fondue (bread, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and green apples for dipping)- this was delicious! A wonderful twist on the cheese fondue- best with the bread and apples! Course Two- Their house beef broth (shrimp, beef and chicken for dipping)- meh, it was okay... next time, I'll pay extra for the hot oil or their flavored broths. Course Three- Turtle Chocolate fondue (cake, marshmallows, rice krispies and fruit for dipping)- If the bowl hadn't been so hot, I would have shamelessly licked the darn thing. Such a good chocolate fondue concoction! However, trying to decide which of their 8-10 different dessert fondue options to pick was torture... HOW can you choose just one?? Overall, a very fun, drawn-out dining experience! Also, gotta give a rock-star shout out to our server (or at least... I would, but I don't remember her name)- she was fantastic! She was funny, attentive to our needs, and clearly knew what she was doing with the fondue!

We primarily went here because our friends and family told us so many great things about it, however, we were a little disappointed. We ordered the Classic Alpine Cheese Fondue- I personally love the flavor of white wine but there was WAY too much in there. While our waitress was making our fondue, I noticed that she was putting a lot in there but since it was my first time I did not want to interfere. I should have ordered the fiesta cheese dip, I think I would like that better! Maybe I'll go back and try it.

This place is AMAZING!!!! My friends and I have made it our mission to come once a month! It's a little pricey but the 4 course meal is so worth it!!! My server was very delightful. The white chocolate is to die for!!

SECOND UPDATE: Here's my latest update --- kids and I went for dinner last night and had a great time. This is a super fun place to come with kids ---- they can play with their food (just kidding!) while they have an interactive experience with the meal. We had the standard four course meal. First course is cheese. We had two pots so chose two kinds of cheese --- both were yummy. We also had the meat plate for an up-charge (we ordered two plates and couldn't finish) which was a good call. Next came salad --- the three different kinds were good, but maybe on the salty side for some palates. We then enjoyed three different entrées for our two kinds of broth. The basic veggie broth was a good choice for the kids, but I liked the wine broth better. The lobster and filet was the hit at our table, but the sausage and other beef choices were also quite good. Chicken (white meat) was the week link --- most probably because we over cooked the poor things. Lastly, we finished with two kinds of chocolate. Mike was our waiter and he was absolutely delightful. He patiently explained the menu and what we'd be doing that evening. He kept our water glasses full and kept a keen eye out to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. The management was kind enough to extend the July 4th dinner offer (25% off entrees) we missed because of the restaurant closure. Our bill, exclusive of gratuity, was $108 (no drinks --- we're water people:-)). Although I had kids (16 year old girl who's not a big meat eater balanced the 14 year old boy with the hollow leg), we ordered three adult meals. Even without the discount, I think the prices are probably a fair value for what you get. We could not possibly finish any of the four courses....and we tried. Hard. I would encourage anyone to come here, at least once to try it out. It's a fun evening for the family ! FIRST UPDATE: Here's an update to my 7/4th experience. The marketing director for the restaurant reached out to me --- explained that the management didn't contact me because the restaurant was already closed and I had made my reservation on line. She did a nice job owning the mid-step and apologizing for the inconvenience. Because the kids reallllly wanted dessert there we went last night (just for dessert). Once the waitress heard what happened she had the restaurant treat us to our chocolate fondue. Nicely done! I'm going to be visiting the restaurant again this month to try the four-course feast.

Not my favorite place to go to, but the food is alright. The service was great! And the atmosphere was quite lovely. Charging $8 a person, the portions were really small for two people, but I guess that can be expected. We had the cheddar fondue along with sides. The sides included a very small mixture of vegetables, a tiny bowl of Apple slices, and a bowl of bread ($8per person). We also had the meat plate ($2.50per person. A tiny plate of assorted meat selections. The fondue wasn't terrible, it was just decent. The meat selection was lacking. Only coming with varied selections of okay meats. After eating, both my boyfriend and I had a little stomach problem. At the end of the day, it was a nice experience, but we would only come back of there on occasion of some sort, or to try their 4 course meal.

I went to The Melting Pot Saturday evening on a date and it was both our first times. Upon entering we were greeted immediately and seated quickly. Our waiter's name escapes me at the moment but he was knowledgeable and very helpful explaining the menu and what flavors went well with what. My date and I settled on the 4-course meal which included: 1) Spinach Artichoke Cheese Fondue (amazing) 2) Caesar salads, 3) The French Quarter and the Land & Sea all cooked in the Mojo, Caribbean-inspired broth, and 4) the Cookies 'n Cream Marshmallow Dream For the entree portion our waiter told us that the meats and veggies had different cook times but we simply dumped everything into the pot, let it all go for a few minutes, then fished everything out as we went along. Just seemed a bit tedious to do it all a few pieces at a time. Also keep in mind that the potions aren't huge but after 4-courses, you're certainly left satisfied. We both concluded that although it was fun, we'd much rather someone cook our dinner for us and we'd probably only return for the dessert portion. The ambiance was nice, so take a date if you haven't been and go for the experience if nothing else, but you probably won't be rushing back.

My friends and I came in to celebrate for a bachelorette party weekend. The manager was nice enough to help us pick out our cheese, entree, and chocolate items. This was extremely helpful since most of the table had never come to Melting Pot before, let alone eat fondue. Everything was amazing including the service! Mike was very charming and sweet, as well as very knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. Nick, the Manager, was very friendly and willing to help out whenever we had a question. The restaurant was obviously packed with prom kids and birthdays, but we never felt like we unimportant. My friend can not stop talking about it, and now she wants to come up for date night with her soon to be husband! I would give this Melting Pot two thumbs up! We couldn't have asked for a better experience! Thanks again for making my friends bachelorette party a night to remember!"

Came here for Easter Brunch with my honey and her little one, hadn't been since high school, so was curious to try it out again. We started out with a cheese dip that was not spicy at all, and just ok. They had a selection of different breads that didn't really wow me. Next course was your typical chicken, steak, shrimp with vegetables and side sauces. The only thing that stuck out was the teriyaki steak, but everything else was also just ok and the sauces weren't great except the plum sauce. The final course, dessert, was where I'd give them 3 stars. We did the smores chocolate platter, and the marshmallows plus poundcake were pretty good. They gave us extra dippers which was even better. The waiter did an excellent job and the Easter bunny there going from table to table with candy added a nice touch. I didn't have a drink at all, so that could be a reason but I don't see myself going back. It was fun when I was younger but the appeal has worn off.

in a day and age where, with a big price tag you should expect to get more, this is not really the case at the Melting Pot. We were very disappointed at the serving sizes of our main entres. The dessert and cheese (appetizer) came with plenty to dip with, and we enjoyed these courses very much. But the main entre (we purchased the 19.99 three item option) only came with two of each item, and a few pieces of the steak. On the flip side, EVERYTHING was delicious. This restaurant takes the time to prepair everything in front of you, which is reall quite an enjoyable process if you've the time to sit and enjoy the atmosphere of the place. The mennu boasts some pretty delicious drinks, and the dessert chocolates are especially tasty and flavorful. I recommend the Yin & Yang for white and dark chocolate lovers. The presentation of this dessert was beautiful. Our service was excellent, our waitress (cannot for the life of me remember her name) was very pleasant and knowledgeable about everything we asked her, even down to the original sauces they make there, and what tasted best with each. This is a serve-yourself restaurant, so it is not recommended if you do not have ample time to enjoy the experience or have small children who could potentially burn themselves without someone looking after them properly. My rating reflects the overall experience, and would be 5 stars were this place not cheaper or the main course include a bit more to satisfy.

This is my favorite restaurant! The service is always outstanding and of course the food is amazing! Our favorites are the Wisconsin trio cheese with a hint of blue cheese that's excellent, the Caesar salad with candied pine nuts on top, the teriyaki sirloin, anything dipped in the green goddess sauce, and the flaming turtle chocolate for dessert. The servers will go out of their way to accommodate all of your requests. They usually have specials as well that are always tasty and fun to try. This is our go to spot for special date nights or anniversaries but I've also been here as a part of a large group and the service and food quality was just as great!

A gf of mine took me here last week for my birthday. They had sent me a coupon to my email for free chocolate covered strawberries as a birthday gift. I forgot my coupon at home but they still made me some chocolate covered strawberries,(6 to be exact) since it was my birthday! Excellent customer service! I'm still not a fan of the entrees but their cheese and chocolate fondues are delicious!

The salad and the chocolate was the best thing about the whole meal. The entree's and appetizers (cheese) taste weird. If I ever go to the melting pot again it would probably only be for dessert, otherwise it's a big waste of money.

We came here for Easter brunch with my daughter. I haven't done fondue in I don't know how long, but decided it was a nice not too far away option. Plus my daughter ate free with an adult entrée. The idea with fondue is sitting at a table with a big heater in the center, and you got a metal pot with vegetable broth (or other choices per your tastes) to stick long cooking utensils in with your pieces of meat and vegetables that they provide. I had a nice Peach cosmo to start. It was pretty tasty, but not much alcohol in it. We decided to do the Easter special, so we had filet, shrimp, salmon, and chicken with vegetables including red skinned potatoes and broccoli. The starter was cheese fondue. I ordered the fiesta, because it came with jalepenos. I asked for extra spicy, but it came out way too bland and didn't even taste the jalepenos. We barely ate any. Next was the entrée. It seemed like we had small portions, but since I ate some of my daughter's, I left full. There were several sauces that came with the meal, like teriyaki, curry, and plum sauce. Also served was a gorgonzola cheese spread and a cream cheese topping to stuff your mushrooms, but it can be used to complement anything served. The dessert was a chocolate fondue that came with pound cake bites, brownies, strawberries, pineapple, and marshmellows. That was the best part of the meal for me. The service really was excellent. Had a great waiter, Mike, and the staff all were very friendly and accommodating. They had a bunny walk around the tables and deliver Easter candy, which was a nice touch. The food was just okay, but the service was definitely terrific.

Expected more for the price. Entrees were extremely small on purpose so you have to buy the fondue and the desert! However my experience was worse than that. Our waiter seemed either ignorant or just plain apathetic to new customers. We wanted to ask how much food we got should we get the appetizers what is expected here but nope! Ask any questions and he goes "ummm idk just get something and it will be good...." OK THANKS! It's a shame cause I already go to Asian hot pot all the time and I love it, I live very close to the restaurant and wanted to bring my family if it was good it could have been our new family dinner spot. But guess not, oh well. Never again. P.s. Cheese was poorly made, chocolate best part (but how hard is that to screw up), and they give u way too little for freaking 40 dollars... Did i really pay 7 bucks for half a potato in my stu?

Loved the restaurant. Food was great, service impeccable. I will say that as I watched the waitress mix my cheese dip, looking at the cheese, I could tell it was old. Being a household of shredded cheese lovers who frequently purchases large quantities; I know when it's been around a little too long and on its last leg! I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars because there's something "dated" about the place and experience. I can't put my finger on it...

UPDATE: The owner contacted me after this review. They were friendly and professional. They said they would definitely pass on my review to the staff and management for compliments and improvements. I applaud the owner for their actions. This shows that the restaurant strives to be their very best by constantly improving themselves and their relationship with their customers. A restaurant that reviews their reviews and gives positive feedback definitely deserves a visit! I have been to the Melting Pot a few times at different locations. I have to say this place is the best. The service is quick. The food is the freshest. The seasoning is spot on. The raviolis are al dente. The prices are fair. The staff (especially Drake) was friendly and professional. I ordered the blackberry sage lemon mock drink and it tasted fresh and delightful. However the bartender forgot to properly filter out the seeds. The spinach artichoke cheese dip was wonderful. The artichoke to garlic ratio was perfectly balanced out. The extra tobacco sauce gave it the extra kick needed. The bacon mushroom salad was refreshing. The restaurant was generous in the amount of mushrooms given. The shallot vinaigrette was unexpected but ended up working harmonious with the salad. The bacon was a bit soggy and could have been done a bit crisper to add to the texture of the salad. My girlfriend is vegetarian and they were able to make the proper accommodations to the entree. She said the root vegetables were fresh and the ravioli were al dente. The french entree with cajun seasoning was a bit salty but the quality of the meat and seafood was superb. The Mojo base was good. The garlic was a good kicker to the base. The turtle fondue dessert was tasty. The appearance show of the fire was amusing and the pecan added a delightful texture. Throughout the course, the 2 managers and other waiters kept checking up on us. They were attentive and professional. My girlfriend and I ended up leaving happily full. i cant wait to go back again! Cheers.

The ONLY thing that was good about this place was the bar service. The food portions were way too small and the cheeses were gross. The service didn't care to refill drinks at all. Deserts were super stale tasting and not fresh. Gross. Waste of money.

I'm giving 5 stars to a chain restaurant? Screw it. My wife and I don't come here all that often -- but we've been here at least once a year for the last 8 or 9 years and it's always been consistently good. We've never had a complaint and have always left stuffed and slightly tipsy. Look, it's a slow meal. You want to go to this place when you have plenty of time to relax and talk to your companions. But it's also a good meal. The alcohol never tastes weak and the chocolate always tastes divine. The wait staff has always been attentive and friendly. Can't ask for more than that.

I came here last night with family for dinner. Mike was our server, and he was excellent. I give him props for keeping his cool because my grandmother might not be the easiest person to deal with sometimes. Also, big shout out to this place for being breastfeeding friendly. I went up front to ask the manager if there was a closed section I could nurse my daughter in and one of the wait staff brought me to a booth. I have never been to fondue restaurant before. This was a very neat and different experience, and I urge you to try it! The lighting is dark, so this is a wonderful place for something romantic like a date or anniversary dinner. The menu items are a bit pricey, but I feel like it was worth it. We chose the four course option where you pick cheese, a salad, a cooking style, an entree, and a dessert. Since our table had two fondue pots we got to choose two cheeses, styles, and desserts. It was fantastic. If you're not hungry enough to eat a 4 course dinner then definitely stick to an individual plate or a salad. On to the food. Holy crap. Deliciousness. The spinach artichoke cheese was phenomenal, my steak cooked in the red wine broth was perfect, and dessert was BY FAR my favorite part of the meal. I would go back to just eat dessert and thats it. It does not really look like you're getting a lot of food, but you actually are. By the end of my meal I was full and happy. All in all, I had a really great experience here. The concept of cooking your own food might seem off putting, but please give this place a try. I will definitely be back.

I love Melting Pot! I came here with my mother for her birthday. Everything was perfect, from the atmosphere to the food. For the people who say the portions are too tiny, I completely agree... Except for the fact that you can literally ask for more chips, bread, and dessert. Like most of the other folks here, I thought the dessert course was definitely the one most worth coming for. Cheesecake, brownies, and rice krispies were perfect! I'm not even going to complain about the pricing. It's a tad expensive, but keep in mind that the melting pot is more for the experience and atmosphere than merely eating food.

I brought my mom this past weekend for her birthday and she loved it. I made reservations on opentable and on the special notes section I put down it was my moms birthday and they gave her card when she sat down and brought her some chocolate covered strawberries and a piece of shortcake with a candle on it was great! Our waiter was really sweet! It is pricey but great for special occasions!

The Melting Pot in Duluth is fantastically gluten-free friendly. Their waitstaff and kitchen staff are fully trained and certified and they offer a complete gluten-free menu. You don't miss out on anything since they offer gluten-free beer for the beer-based cheese fondues, gluten-free bread for same, and gluten-free brownies and pound cake for the chocolate fondue. My partner is extremely gluten-sensitive but has not gotten sick in the three visits we've made to this location in the past year. Everyone at the table needs to order gluten-free, as you are using a communal pot. Expect to spend a lot of time (and make a reservation unless you go early). since you are cooking each bite at the table, there is plenty of room for conversation and variety in between bites. The four-course option gives you a good survey of everything they offer, although just going for a round of cheese and/or chocolate is a less expensive option.

I was very disappointed in the restaurant. I had read that this was the most romantic restaurant....NOT!!! Typical booth seating just like most other restaurants, nothing romantic about it. The waiter was not very helpful and acted like he was bothered when we ordered our drinks and meal. Food was just so-so, certainly not worth the money. The place is very over priced. I will definitely NOT go back.

I am sooooooo full right now. I was kinda skeptical about the whole cooking my own food sorta thing but I definitely love it. The many sauces/batter/cheeses can get confusing but eventually I got the hang of it. I ordered the signature dish and my mom got the french one. The french had a variety of spicy meats (shrimp, chicken, beef, sausage) and the signature was really simple when it came to the seasoning. I didn't really feel like forking out an extra $6 to choose one of the flavored broths, so I ordered one oil and the vegetable broth (no extra charge). It was flavorful as it was. I dipped most of the veggies in the batter and made a lot of tempura style veggies. The veggies come with the entree and you can order as much as you want....free of charge. Had no room for dessert. BUT I did order the ying yang martini...it is so prettttty! But next time I'll definitely order one cheese, one entree, and one dessert rather than 2 entrees and a drink. Service? EXCELLENT. I am such a happy camper right now.

We went their on a Friday night when I-85 was backed-up, so I arrived 25 minutes before the rest of the dinner party. I sat at the bar for 20 minutes before being served a drink. Apparently the bartender decided not to come to work, and no one else but the manager can pour a drink. He was busy elsewhere... Happy birthday to me. The oil was not hot enough too properly cook our food, so the majority of the meal was oily. Once we decided to turn up the pot, the food cooked a little better, but we were on our own to control the cooking, as a our server disappeared after delivering the morsels. Thanks to the wine and chocolate fondue our meals were $100.00 a person, way over priced for the food we were served to cook ourselves. I make a better cheese fondue at home from the recipe they used to use 20 years ago... Same decor from 20 years ago though.

I took my wife here for our 4th wedding anniversary because it was different and she likes going to different places. I knew it was interactive, but not to the point where we had to cook our own meals. You have to make sure you don't cross contaminate the food. They really stress this point. Sound like it could be a liability issue in the future. This place would be great for groups and people with school aged children money to spend. The prices were a little up there for the quality of food. Overall it was fun and we had a good time. It served its purpose.

I came here yesterday trying to beat the Valentine's Day crowd and the place was pretty full. I find this Melting Pot to have the worst decor of all the Melting Pots I have visited including ones in other states. This is mainly due to the wooden paneling along the walls and oddly on the ceiling. It is outdated. Also watching water run down the walls from the high levels of steam the fondue pots give off is very unattractive. (Poor ventilation system and low ceilings will caue that) Speaking of the pots, I noticed that they use smaller ones now. I am not sure if this is just at this location or if this is across the chain. I will have to visit the one in Midtown to see. All in all, I would not recommend this location to anyone that wants the Melting Pot Experience. The Service was alright. Our waiter kept sloshing things out of the very shallow pot when he was stirring our fondue. I can contribute the slowness of service to the pre-Valentine's Day crowd. The prices have increased whereas the pots have decreased and I am really not happy about that. I just had to change my rating level from a 2 star to a 1 star just thinking about that.

So I had been apprehensive to try this place because I had heard how pricey it was, but I'd always wanted to give it a shot. So a girlfriend and I stopped in for dinner before heading to the Fox. We were limited on time, so I had made a reservation, which was not necessary for 5:30pm on a Tuesday night, but the restaurant encourages it. We decided to go with a Cheese and Chocolate fondue because of the limited time. I was not disappointed. Cheddar cheese fondue was excellent and the Milk Chocolate fondue was smooth and creamy, so delish!! We each had a glass of wine and the whole bill was about $45. I thought that was pretty good for two people including a glass of wine each. I would definitely go here again and try a bigger meal, but when I have the time to spend.

Worst experience at this location. We were having an early dinner so we were the first people in the restaurant at 5pm. We come here about 3-4 times a year so we know the food and menu well. This time we got the early special. The portions were VERY small for their special. Still paid $30 per person but did not get as much as we felt we should given their normal prices. I ordered a salad and the spinach inside was black and rotten. I tried to tell my server but she did not seem to understand but brought me mote spinach when I asked for it. Then another couple was sat behind us. They were the parents of another server. So that server spent the next hour talking loudly behind us. Worst part was his language. Granted he was talking to his parents but calling people "dickheads" and using other language is just not what I want to hear. We asked our server to ask him to watch his language. Through it all, no manager stopped by. All in all we will be back because we like the place BUT worse $100 meal I ever had!

I'm still not a fan of the entrees but their cheese and chocolate fondues are delicious!

The deserts are really good. I was disappointed to spend so much money and then have to cook my own food. A cool experience to do once but I don't believe I will be back for dinner.

What can you say? It's Melting pot and who doesn't know about Fondue? Just wish I didn't have to ask the server to refill our drinks. My friends all liked it. Would be a good date spot.

Yick.
