My Food Spotting app certainly came in handy today! I flew into ATL and don't have a car at my disposal, so I needed to find some yummy food that was within walking distance. Art's Bakery was actually the very first thing to pop up. The pictures of they beautiful pastries won my heart immediately! So I was very happy to see that this bakery was an easy 1.5 miles away - the perfect walk for me! First let me say that the one guy working there was absolutely amazing! He was very friendly, very helpful and when he saw he learned that it was my first time, he insisted that I try two of the smaller cookies to sample! They were both absolutely delicious! But I have to say that I had far richer, creamier treats in mind.....but it was so hard to choose! Everything looked divine! I eventually decided to go with two items I'd never seen anywhere else that seemed to be pretty popular based on other reviews I'd read - Chocolate Rat and Almond Success. As many pictures show, the rat is covered in a layer of dark chocolate. But what's inside?!? I needed to know and no one could tell me in their reviews. Well, I'm happy to tell you. According to the man at the counter it's white cake and chocolate cake mixed with almonds, which led me to believe there were layers of cake inside. Wrong. The inside of the rat was very much like the inside of a cake ball as far as consistency goes, but with some chopped almonds town in there for texture. The flavor was light and mild compared the sometimes disgustingly sweet cake balls you taste nowadays. This was a particularly good thing because it provided a perfect balance to the Almond Success. The Almond Success was another dessert I wanted to discover because, again, none of the reviews could tell me what in the heck it was! Not only did I post a picture of the inside, but I will also explain what's going' on in there. There are two layers of "cake". But this cake has the same chewy texture as a macaron. In between these cake-macaron things is a THICK layer of creamy icing. It had the flavor of almond, the intense sweetness of marshmallow fluff and the texture of the smoothest, creamiest butter ever. The whole thing is topped off with another layer of this icing. The sides are rolled in sliced almonds and the top is covered in white chocolate shavings. Put all these layers together and you have a spectacular treat - the chew from the cake, slight crunch from the almonds and light, melting creaminess. Lastly, their prices are crazy low!!! I'm pretty sure that nothing is over $4. This place is delicious and I can't wait to try something else!

This review is based on the tiramisu I got. First of all, they are doing good, and maybe changed counters a little bit. The whole store looks brighter. When I went there in 2pm, half of the cakes are gone. The other half left, still looks delicious. I got tiramisu, since it's a pain to bake it myself. The tiramisu had 5 layers, the mousse is soft and sweet, while the cakery layer is moist with espresso/coffee. Together, they made the taste delightful. Traditionally, the cakery layer should be made with ladyfingers, but most bakeries don't do that because it's hard to make, and takes time to bake. It would be awesome if they are made of lady fingers, and I would gladly gave them five-star. The price is good compare to those Korean bakeries. Georgia French bakery is a little better because they have better presentations.

What this bakery lacks in interior decor it makes up for it with... Well, everything! The service alone is reason enough to return. There is a Lebanese man running the counter (I'm not just assuming he's Lebanese. We had a very pleasant conversation and that came up!) and he is very friendly. I let him know it was my first visit and he was very patient and helpful while I tried to make a decision. The selection of pastries wasn't huge, but there was still a lot to choose from. Cupcakes, cake, ice cream, baklava, etc. I got an eclair, a slice of chocolate cake, and a chocolate Macaroon type dessert. The eclair was delicious, I LOVED the chocolate macaroon (messy to eat, but all the best things are), and I have not tried the cake yet. If it's like everything else, I will love it. The prices are extremely reasonable. I was able to her 4 pastries for a little over $8. I feel like I most definitely got my money's worth. I didn't choose a drink this time, however I will during future visits though. I have nothing but nice things to say, and this is definitely a place I would return to over and over! ** Update: The chocolate cake did not disappoint.

The place was nice and cozy, but there weren't that many pastries to choose from.

Best Napoleon I've had since New York, and Art's Special is amazing as well. European and mideastern treats... man oh man, I'm glad this place is about 30 miles from my house or I would be in truh-buhl.

Very welcoming but the lack of pastries is disappointing. Also, I don't understand canned fruit cocktail inside a wonderful creamy pastry.

I like this place so much that I've visited it twice within a few days! I've passed this bakery many times but never paid much attention to it. I had dinner with my parents at I luv pho a few nights ago and my mom wanted to try this place out because my aunt had told her that it was good. We came here around 7-8 and there wasn't anyone in there. There was still a pretty decent selection of pastries available. We decided to try the raspberry cookies, pistachio cookies, coconut cookies, a slice of pistachio cake, and an almond success. I mentioned to the man at the counter that it was our first time there. Since it was our first time there he offered us a deal on the croissants. He said that if we bought one we would get one free. I'm pretty sure he was just trying to get rid of the croissants but we still got suckered into buying one. Along with the rest of our goodies, we also got a cheese croissant and a thyme croissant. Everything was delicious. The almond success and the pistachio cake are my faves out of everything that I tried! The almond success is topped with shaved white chocolate and consists of layers of cream, almonds and a chewy layer. Everything about it is OMG so good! It sounds super sweet but it definitely wasn't. If you like almonds and white chocolate, this treat is a definite must! The pistachio cake was also super delicious. The cake was light and moist and the cream was not too sweet which I like. The cream tastes like an Italian buttercream which is my fave! If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend checking this place out!

Very delicious French pastry, not too sweet, display is perfect, every piece of cake looks tasty and costs less, under $4.00/per piece. highly recommend it if you like France style cake.

The best baklava I have ever tasted. Every time I am on this side of town I cannot help but come by and pick some up. Both the pistachio and the walnut baklava are out of this world. The chef, Art, and the employees are extremely friendly and helpful.

Art's Bakery is absolutely delicious! Whether you go in for coffee and an eclair or arts specialty, or you special order a cake, you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! i have been coming for years and have had many cakes prepared by Art. It is sweet, but not overly sweet.

Every time I've come here the staff has been incredibly polite and welcoming. At this point I've tried most of the various treats offered here and I have yet to be disappointed. The chocolate rats are my personal favorites, but you really can't go wrong ordering a few different things, especially since the prices are so reasonable. This place is awesome, hands down. Go here.

With each passing day, I enjoy living in Gwinnett county more and more. I come from New England and have been in the metro area about 6 years and planted my first seed in the South in Fulton county. Thought I wouldn't leave, but here I am. This county is full of different ethnic flavors, which delights me beyond belief. Art's Bakery is a place worth visiting, even if it lies outside your usual routes around town. This is a Middle-Eastern/French bakery, which may appear to be a strange combination, until you learn that the pastry chef/owner is Lebanese. To get the history, Google "French Mandate of Lebanon and Syria." Okay, on to desserts. I have had the Raspberry Almond Cake, Pistachio Vanilla Cake, Baba Rhum, Art's Specialty, as well as almost all the baklavas. I have gotten the rose petals filled with almonds, as well as the pistachio baklava squares/lady fingers and the cashew burma/bird nests. Everything is exquisite, which leaves me wondering how Chef Art can master both Middle Eastern and French pastry techniques so well. But I don't wonder too long, I just go and pick up something and enjoy his talent. We are lucky to have this bakery in Duluth. You can be sure that if a similar quality bakery were located ITP, the prices would be more than double what Art's Bakery charges for heavenly sweets. So stop by and have him fill up a box for you to take home.

The service was very good and friendly but what I ordered was just average. Maybe it was the day I was there but there weren't many choices and didn't quite live up to what I was hoping it would be. I can't remember what I ordered but it was a small cake with a raspberry sauce on top. I will return and try something different. It's worth another trip.

After looking for a cupcake place that is open on Sunday, I came across Art's Bakery. The website stated that they are open but upon my arrival I discovered that they decided to go on vacation. This place has been closed since January 1, 2015 and they will open again on January 10th. No cupcake for me! :(

Hmm, I never noticed Art's out of all the hundreds of times I have eaten at I Luv Pho next door. Maybe i have but wasn't quite interested because I thought it was just another common korean bakery in Duluth. What got me to try this place out was that I was craving some dessert, didn't want any korean pastries, sweet hut was too far, cafe intermezzo was a drive also, so I thought of when my friend recommended the place. She told me about the variety of baked goods that they offered, and how it was to the perfect sweetness. I gave it a try, this place was a middle east/french bakery? It is really good, I tried the tiramisu that was a size of a brick for only $3.00! Everything else looked so yummy to, like the pistachio, and the chocolate rats, plus the chocolate mousse cake...oh I need more.. Everything is priced fair and really well, other places average is like $6 and up, didn't try any cappuccinos or coffee, because I'm not a fan of those drinks. They offer smoothies though, maybe one day for those. I'll just focus on the sweet desserts. Really yummy =)

Went for a snack. Ordered: - American coffee: strong, on the bitter side. Friend said it was made from a K-cup. - mocha cake: cake was firm and not too sweet. A thin layer of hardened chocolate. Not bad. Small cafe. Clean. A lot of natural light through the windows, which I liked.

Art the owner is extremely nice. Very appreciative of customers choosing his business. Bakery items are good: Middle Eastern French. If you like strong coffee you will like Art's. Although not much of an atmosphere, overall Ok.

I've tried one pastry and that is all I needed to keep me going back. Their Almond Success is SOOOOOO delicious. Slightly sweeter than I'm use to but it's so good, I've come to ignore that. The sweet and smooth whipped cream with the chewy center topped with almonds and thin slices of white chocolate... I just can't explain. It's a must try.

Enjoyed fresh, professional, quality sweets from Art's this weekend for a family event including baklawa, french pastries, and petit four cookies. All delicious. Artistically presented as well. A wow! Some recommendations: Chocolate Mousse - so creamy and delicious; beautifully presented cakes; wonderful baklawa of walnut - baskets were great, pistachios - squares are a classic, or cashews - lady fingers Yum. Amazing cookies especially loved the date filled butter cookie and the chocolate heart sandwiches with creme filling. Must try: chocolate sable - a sandwich cookie pastry with chocolate buttercream topped with chocolate sprinkles and crushed pistachios. The chocolate rat is cute and fudgey. And, lastly, if you go on a weekend day try the middle eastern specialty of sweet armenian cheese 'pie' heated inside a home bake crescent shaped roll topped with sesames. To die for! Unpretentious delicious pastries. I've true a few so far chocolate meringue was my favorite! Like a chocolate "hot dog" paradise. Mocha cake was good too.
