Every other month or so we visit Ninja with the kids, and have for almost nine years. The staff is super-friendly, helpful in accommodating special food requests, and the food has never disappointed. The portions are large for the most part, so we always have leftovers for the next day :) I have been many times just for sushi and consider the quality to be great.

I have been here several times over the past years. Not sure why their are so many reviews. I have eaten sushi & hibachi here. The sushi is always fresh and the rolls are a good size. They are bigger than the ones at Taki. My favorite rolls include: - Brazilian Lobster Roll: Huge Roll with deep fried lobster, avocado, cucumber inside. crab Meat, real crab Meat, masago, and crunch on the top. - Super Cliente Roll: This roll has jalapeño on top. - Halloween Roll: This roll has sriracha on top. As you can tell, I like my rolls spicy. I have also had the godzilla roll, princess roll, and the sweet dream roll. These are also good, but I prefer the ones I have listed above. For hibachi: If you are looking for cheap meal, I would go for lunch. The lunch prices are so reasonable and the portions are great! I would suggest the scallop lunch special. These scallops are huge! Also, get the fried rice. It is amazing! They put bacon in it! & I think they are the only hibachi restaurant to do so! I also prefer their mustard sauce instead of the seafood (yum yum) sauce. For drinks: They have a full bar, so be ready to drink to your heart's content. My favorite drink is the Marijuana. I can drink these endlessly. Overall, the service, staff, and chef are great. Great Atmosphere.

Great lunch specials! Hibachi chicken, friend rice, soup, and salad all for $8. You can't beat it.

I have gone to this place over 8 times now. It never fails. The sushi is awesome and it has reasonable prices. Usually when I go, I get the Brazil Lobster roll and Hamilton Mill roll. The owner is also super friendly and nice (Great Customer Service!!).

Worst service ever. 20 minutes to get a beer. 40 minutes to take our dinner order. Food came out at all different times. Been here many times and seems to be going down hill. I'd recommend trying somewhere else. Zero stars if possible. Food was ok.

Very very disappointed. Me and my family have been going to the Ninja in Braselton for about 7 years now. When I moved to Buford a little over a year ago, I decided to try the Hamilton Mill location. So far I've only gone 10-15 times and have only had 2 good experience and a couple decent experiences but over all most of the visits were highly disappointing. It seemed like the only time we got decent service was when the owner is there greeting people. He is a great guy and I feel sorry that his employees are screwing him like this. He is really the only reason I kept giving them another shot but today was the last straw. Today my 8 1/2 month pregnant wife and I drove out of our way to eat there for lunch because it is my birthday. When we arrived I was told that they could not seat us because they were closed, even though they weren't. The sign out front with their hours clearly showed that they were in fact open and I pointed it out to the hostess. Not to mention, the door was unlocked. She denied service and said that I would have to come back. They treated me like serving us would be to much of a hassle. What seemed to be the problem is that they just didn't want to open a table because they had pre-closed and turned off the tables too early because they are lazy. My wife and I could not believe it. It is unfortunate that they have not been able to maintain the standards they use to have and it's safe to say that me and my family will not be going here again or recommending them either. It really makes me not even want to go to the one in Braselton again because the problems seem to be reoccurring and they're probably not just at Hamilton Mill because they have the same owner.

Where do I start? I would give this place a negative 5 if I could! We visited the restaurant today & ordered their special of chicken teriyaki (x4) for us all. It was fine until the main meal came to us. The rice & chicken were both cold & tasted like they were cooked for lunch & served in dinner. When we asked about it, the rude server said "I can warm it up for you in the microwave." We decided to walk out of this place. We sat in the table area behind bar instead of the grill but didn't expect to be served old food. My wife left a used napkin on the cold chicken & rude server said "How will we reuse this food?" Those were her words. Beware of this place. Unless you are sitting at the grill, stay away from this place because they are most likely serving you leftovers. I am thankful one of us decided to walk away today. We will not be returning!

I've been coming here for years. I really don't understand the bad reviews. Never had a bad experience with the food or service. The sushi is always fresh. Love the filet and shrimp hibachi.

Friendly staff. Chefs do not make a lot of fanfare. There is little show. The onion volcano is old now; but hey, it's fire! The Fantasy Roll was pretty good though the mush on top, for lack of better description, was not what I was expecting; and the consistency of it threw me a little. I probably would not get it again. The food is pretty good. Everyone talks about the fried rice here; but the amount of oil they put into it while it's on the grill is a bit of a turn off for me. Here they do an egg and bits of bacon version. Pretty good but I was not wow'd by it. I had the filet and shrimp. It was good. The owners/management seem very welcoming and friendly. And the place seems to have it's regular crowd as well. It's a solid average choice. Everyone seems to like it overall; so I bet we'll go back at some point.

Wanted to provide a review for what I consider the best Sushi in the area. There are ample hibachi and sushi locations around, even another new location in Dacula so the competition is growing. Ninja has been a rather long standing location in Dacula in addition to its other location The Iron Wok. Jackie Chan is the owner and Tai is the very long term professional Sushi chef. The ownership from memory is Malaysian. Each time I visit you will find me at the Sushi bar. After a few rolls I will "roll" out. I prefer the Volcano myself and anything else that will completely open or burn out your sinus cavity! Review the menu yourself. ninjasteakandsushi.com/M… One thing they used to have but no longer carry due to demand was one of my favorites from Japan / Asia. "RED BEAN" Ice Cream. Most who have never been to Japan or Asia do not know about this and always ask for the Green Tea. Once you try it you will be hooked! I wish they would bring it back, until then it's H Mart. Next time I need to tie on a Sushi fix I will visit Tai! In short, go to Ninja and give Tai a Try!

Very disappointed with my lunch today. Definitely NOT worth the $$. The wait staff was inattentive and certainly expressed no desire to make my dining experience pleasurable. Be prepared to pay $1.00 PER small shrimp if you would like any in your fried rice. I have been coming her for at least 10 years and I think this will be my last visit.

Love Ninja. If your craving for sushi in the Buford/Hamilton Mill area this is the place to go.

This is my second time visiting Ninja and the experience was pretty much the same. Our Chef was great, the food was fresh and delicious. He kept us engaged while preparing our food. I ordered the teriyaki steak hibachi but the teriyaki flavor was not really there. DH ordered the shrimp and steak combo and the shrimp was really good. The only thing I don't like about this place is that they don't have fountain sodas so ordering a coke can get pretty pricey if you're accustomed to getting a few refills. All in all, I really like this place and it's close to home.

We have gotten takeout from here several times. They are always very very friendly when you walk in the door. The sushi is always fantastic. And their habachi grill dinners are always wonderful. They take the time to check the order and make sure it's right it is always bagged up or boxed up very nice and neat. We love it!

Got order wrong, wait staff very slow, sushi sub-par. Manager/owner was very helpful.

We decided to try another sushi restaurant, but never considered Ninja Steakhouse as an alternative. I am sorry I waited so long. My wife and I are not Japanese steakhouse people. We like sushi. This place has the freshest seafood I have tasted in a long, long time. Nothing I tried was frozen. This is the real deal; fresh! If you like sushi, you must try this place. Absolutely the finest!

Decided to try this location since the one in Cumming has closed its doors. Dissappointed quality not as good as the Cumming location. Chef very sarcastic and not very accommodating always told us as your waiter for any request. Sushi not so great. Won't make the drive again sorry

Sushi is the best here and the selection/variety is outstanding. It's always fresh and the presentation is great! The waitstaff is always friendly and Jackie Chan, the manager/owner is a great host with a quirky sense of humor. Yes, that is his name. We often sit at the Sushi bar to chat with Tai, the sushi chef, and enjoy his creations. He's one of the best in our opinion. Our favoriterolls are theBrazil Lobster, Rush Hour, Cherry Blossom,Halloween, Viva Las Vegas (no rice)and especially the Double A, since that one was our creation and named after us.Your favorites might be different, but with such a huge selection it shouldn't be difficult to find something you like. I love the sashimi best though.

I have yet to find a sushi restaurant to rival Ninja. Tai (the sushi chef) has been there forever and is the best around. From the dancing rhonda (the sushi dances!) to the princess roll to the classics, you can't go wrong. And if you are feeling adventurous, ask Tai to whip you up something based on what's best that day - you will NOT be disappointed. And you must (MUST) get an order of fried rice. The bacon-y awesomeness is reason enough for me to make the hour-long drive. Add some yellow sauce and you won't regret it. Walk in, waddle out - best sushi in the Atlanta area - hands down.

    (5)
  • Troy P.

Great place. Helen is fun and friendly. Sushi is always delicious. Spicy tuna, special volcano, and sweet dream rolls are amazing. If you are up for it, the super caliente roll has fresh jalapeño. Edamame and cucumber salad are just right. Fried rice is addictive. Go there.

  • Angela L.

This is our favorite sushi spot in the northeast Atlanta area. We always eat rolls at the sushi bar and haven't tried the hibachi. The fish is fresh and tasty and the portions are very large (a lot of fish in each roll). The staff has always been pleasant and helpful and we love the oranges at the end of the meal. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the limited seating - there is just a sushi bar to sit at, no individual tables.

    (4)
  • Colin L.

Yep, I have had lunch here a few times. It is right down the street from my dental office - Lanier Valley Dentistry. We had several sushi rolls today. My favorites were the Godzilla and Rock and Roll (the kinda tasted similar - but good). They were out of fatty tuna, which I know sounds gross, but I had a friend recommend it and I tried it and now I am all over it! Anyway, Ninja is like a more cozy version of a shogun. And since I bring up Shogun, the one at the Mall of Georgia is terrible. I will continue to come back to Ninja in Hamilton Mill for my Japaneese food! I heard about Ninja by reading Yelp reviews for sushi restaurants in my area (I live in Buford). This seemed to be the most highly rated one around so my roommate and I gave it a go. WHAT AN AMAZING DISCOVERY THIS WAS! I'm a real sushi lover. I was BLOWN AWAY by the friendliness of the staff, the service, the sushi chef and his skill, the freshness of the ingredients, all of it. BEST sushi and best fried rice i have ever had. hands down. and that includes inner city restaurants in Atlanta. Ninja will get my business from now on. One thing that immediately made me know i was on to something was that everyone else there were regulars who knew the owner and staff by name. You will not be disappointed by your visit to Ninja.

It's 9:02 PM on a thursday night. they aren't very busy but they are still very happy. It's a quiet place (a date night place) we are sitting at the sushi bar looking at what to order. The man behind the bar recommends some ideas. He make them fast and very beautifully. I like this place already.

First off, right after we were seated and my husband heard the waitstaff speaking Vietnamese to each other, I wanted to walk out. A Japanese restaurant run by non-Japanese rarely turns out well. I ordered a tempura udon. It came with 2 shrimps and a small bowl of plain udon in soup. The shrimp is from frozen, with very little flavor. There was nothing in the udon soup, it tasted like water with a dash of soy sauce, no sliced fish cake or egg or seawood as in a typical udon. You can go to the nearest Asian grocery, buy a prepackaged udon from the refrigerated section, bread a couple of shrimps and would have something no worse than what I was served. My husband, the brave man, ordered sushi. He said is was OK, it wasn't super fresh but edible. Thankfully he did not have an upset stomach afterwards as I was afraid he would. All I can say is, for decent Japanese you really do have to make the drive into Atlanta. Try Taka on Pharr in Buckhead. On a bright note, at least Ninja was clean and so was their ladies room.
