I really love Asian restaurants that do steamed dishes well. Yes, I'm a fairly stringent eater and pretty much hate sauces, so I always get the steamed dishes. Asian Table did it perfectly - Steamed Seafood & Mixed Veg came in the bamboo steamer and were perfectly cooked. I usually come across shrimp and oysters that are steamed to rubber. I also enjoyed the brown rice and sauce on the side. Very tasty! Family really liked the Seafood Delight, Pork Lo Mein & Chicken with String Beans (Chinese menu), Pad Thai with chicken (Thai menu) and Kam Heong (Singapore menu). We enjoyed the outdoor seating area. It was quiet and they even have a tv facing outdoors thru 1 of the windows - great for those that can't get away from the sports. Our server was prompt and very sweet. I venture to say she was the only one working that night, but she did a wonderful job. There weren't many diners in the restaurant, but it looked like they do a booming takeout! We will definitely return.

Stopped here on a whim while passing through and glad we did. A good variety of choices (including vegetarian options), fast and friendly service, tasty food and an unexpected treat of watermelon after our meal.

For a while, we normally only ate here if we happened to be passing at meal time, usually en route back from a trip to North Georgia up GA-400. However, we've had a few occasions to eat lunch here over the past few months, and have enjoyed it. Asian Table seems to be climbing up a few notches on our roster. Their Thai dishes are good; I've tried various curries (Panang and Massaman, at least) and the Pad Thai. For lunch, they have Chinese-style soup (hot-and-sour or won-ton) vs. the traditional Tom-Yum type Thai soup. The hot-and-sour was good, though. The spring rolls are also tasty. My wife has tried the basil-noodles lately and has enjoyed them a lot. They also have a "Singaporean-Chinese" section of the menu, though neither of us have gravitated towards it. For regular Thai food choices, though, this is a good bet.

I've been on the hunt for great pad thai...and definitely did not find it here. After eating here, I am disappointed! Hubby and I got the spicy chicken basil, which was actually pretty good. I would get that again. Then, on to the pad thai. It literally had no flavor. It was quite possibly the worst pad thai that I have had. I'd probably head over to Pacific Spice or Rice before I'd go here again.

Had General Tso's chicken, dumplings and my kids ate the junior boxes. All the food was outstanding in quality, quantity and the service was too!

I was really disappointed with the chicken pad Thai. It lacked any flavor at all, very bland. Half of the noodles were dry, not even touched by any sauce. There wasn't enough sauce to spread around. I am not sure what was in the crab Rangoon, but there was a unique flavor which I did not enjoy. The duck sauce was watered down, which I have never seen before. I would not waste your time or money eating here, unless this is a last resort.

Great food. Excellent service. We ordered Singapore curry noodles, spicy mango curry, roti kanai and couple of other dishes including fried rice. Finished with orange cream cake. Very tasty, service was prompt, great ambience.

Had the pad Thai. Flavor and sauce left something to be desired. Clean place with nice staff.

I was not impressed with this place at all. If I wanted overpriced Chinese food, I would have gone to PF Changs. At least it's good there. The service here was horrible. I waited 30 minutes to get a table even though there were empty seats everywhere. They were very rude. The staff was either chit chatting or wiping tables. I've had better Chinese food from Panda Express.

Great restaurant with friendly staff! Come here often for lunch. Love the Spicy Basil Leaves Chicken and Pad See U! Curry dishes are also excellent...not to mention some of the best Tom Yum soup I've ever had!

This was really good Asian food. I was quite surprised by the quality and ambiance of this place. I was expecting (I don't know why) a large menu with 100's of items to choose from in each Asian region (Singapore, Thailand and China) with them all pretty much tasting the same. Instead, the menu was limited, the ambiance very nice, staff very courteous and the food just downright great. The Pad Thai was very tasty and the Kam Heong (fried Chicken) was so good I strongly considered licking the plate. I wasn't keen on the fried wantons that had minimal cream cheese in them, but they still weren't bad. Even the Lo Mein (not a favorite dish of mine) was above average. I would rate this an upscale Asian restaurant with fair prices and worthy of repeat visits. One warning though; if you shy away from food with "spicy" tagged next to it in the menu you will have limited choices. I would say 75% of the meals are listed as spicy. I thought the spice was perfect, but just be prepared.

I'm sorry to say but this was a very bad restaurant. I tried the Mongolian Beef, and it was normal, but when I tried my child's meal, it just wasn't what I expected. He had Sesame Chicken, corn, and rice. The Chicken was just too sweet, crunchy, and drenched in sauce. The corn was cold and came out cafeteria style. The rice was just cold. Honestly, I would not like to go here for anything there. There is always room for improvement, though.

We ordered last night off all 3 menus. My son and his friend loved theirs but mine was horrible. It was so dry and no taste. It didn't help that they sent the wrong item either. I wanted rice noodles and got the flat noodles instead. To be fair, my son and his friend will go back but I don't think I will.

Excellent Hot and Sour Soup and Siam Chicken. And it was quickly delivered to my house. Will be ordering regularly!

Asian table never disappoints! We order delivery from there almost once a week. Some of our favs that taste amazing are Thai Coconut Soup, General Tsos chicken, and House Lo Mein. Consistent service and fantastic meals! Our go to restaurant for Chinese!

The decor in this place is really nice and the staff was nice but on to what's important, the food. The crab rangoon was ok. The filling was a little weird. The General Tso chicken was delicious and so was the chicken and broccoli. Stay away from the sesame chicken and the sweet and sour chicken, it was disgusting !!!! The fried rice was just ok. It was kinda flavorless. Overall this place was just ok. It got 3 stars because of the nice clean atmosphere. Not because of the food.

    (3)
  • Matthew A.

It was just barely ok. The dark dismal atmosphere makes the whole place feel dirty. My table and menu were both sticky. My hot & sour soup was neither hot nor sour, in fact it reminded me of beef broth that had been reduced to a lukewarm gelatinous puddle of boringness. My crispy beef was overcooked and not crispy. They only have beer and wine, nothing good on that list.

Bad Attitude and very rude Also the lady owner was rude as the Chinese server guy Wouldn't recommend if you want to be treated good Food was fine no complaints there

Food was good, slightly better than the much cheaper local takeout place. is it worth the extra? maybe. the real problem is the hidden delivery charge. they don't mention it, they don't advertise it, but they charge it anyway. my order was $3 more than it should have been. i called after it was delivered and asked why, and i was told there was NO delivery charge. after doing them math on the phone with the lady who answers the phone, she mentioned it was an "oil fee" and that it used to be $3 but is now only $2 (they still charged me $3 anyway). keep in mind, gas was $2.06 / gallon that day. on principal, i will probably not order from them again.

  • Ramya N.

I have eaten at this place several times. Good food, but very pricey. They will charge you for everything, including hot sauce (yes! Unbelievable but true). They charge you for extra sauce, extra curry, just about anything they can. The other day I ordered a red curry for pick up and I came home to see that there was no steamed rice. When I called the restaurant, the lady wanted me to come and pick it up. Driving back 20 mins to get rice at 9:00 in the night??? I asked her if they could deliver it as the mistake was theirs. She said the driver was out and it would take atleast 40 mins for him to get back. She said she would give me an extra rice when I go the next time. What do I do with 2 bowls of rice? She was unwilling to give a credit or discount of any sort for the next time. This is the level of customer service for someone who frequents this restaurant, I am not going back again. Driving back again to a restaurant with 2 kids in the backseat to get a bowl of rice, which they missed does not sound right. Does it?

We had the Panang and Massaman dishes (chicken, shrimp, and pork) and they were excellent. The basil rolls were also excellent - some of the best we have enjoyed in the area. Really, the only rate-limiting factor for Asian Table is the price, which is higher-end for the serving size. But if you're not on a budget, chances are excellent that you will enjoy menu items.

Got stuck in traffic and decided to swing in... great choice. I was the only one in the place at that time- 6:30pm on a Wednesday. I was very impressed with the service and the food. I say an extreme amount of customer service in action- it seems like they do a lot of pick up orders and must have delivery available, too. I had the spicy noodles with basil and chicken and a cup of coconut soup. Both fabulous items. The dinner portion of the meal was HUGE and heated up well this afternoon at the office for lunch. I am not entirely familiar with the area- I was trying to cut through from north Georgia without having to go into Atlanta to head to Athens. I am glad I took the chance!

Went here for the first time with friends. It wasn't busy. I start with that because there is no reason for the poor service we had from our server. On top of that, his forgetfulness and lack of personality were not out done by the food and the attempt to have it seem creative as well. Between our friends and us, we ordered appetizers: pot stickers (no flavor), crab rangoon (until now I wasn't aware that they could be prepared any way other than delicious...that is the only time you will see the word "delicious" in this review). The crab rangoon had practically No Filling. The filling it did have was runny and had no texture, just liquidy. We also ordered chicken satay (on a stick) with a peanut butter sauce. The chicken was fine, the sauce was the highlight of the meal. For dinner, I ordered the coconut shrimp and scallops. I had 4 medium sized shrimp and 2 scallops the size of quarters (thats being generous in description). They aren't battered with the coconut, they are just breaded, fried and then hidden under a 1/2 a bag of shredded toasted coconut and what looked and tasted like bits fished out of the fryer. Asian food is ranked as one of my favorites. It is usually pretty consistent around no matter where I have gone. This meal however was by far thee worst I have had, Asian or otherwise, while dining out. I'm not a picky eater. I like to see things and people do well. But from the forgotten apps, to the poor timing of dinner (the first dish came out and literally 10 minutes later than the last one did, rendering the first dish cold if you are trying to be polite and wait for everyone to get their dinner before you start to eat!). The kids each got a dish as well. Lo Mein, General Tso's chicken and sesame chicken jr box. Our server never acknowledged the delay or the forgotten apps. He acted as if we were inconveniencing him by dining here. The only thing that made this an experience that kept my husbands head on was the owner and the bathrooms! The kids went crazy over the bathroom sinks! The owner is delightful and personable. She tried throughout the meal to salvage it. We should have complained, but we were with friends, it was 108*F out that day. We just wanted to have a nice meal and laugh with friends after being outside all day! We rarely complain over food. But both my husband and I said as we got into the car how horrible it was. Even the kids agreed (and they Never complain!!)! I am so sorry to say that we wouldn't be back. Our meal for 3 adults (our one child orders like an adult) and two children (one glass of plum wine, one beer and the above mentioned entrees) came to $129!! The appetizer we ordered never came. So it was expensive. (I dont know exactly what our friends ordered or what their bill came to). We dined a few days later at Seasons 52...the same family of 5, for $109!! That was with 2 apps, 2 beers, 1 fancy martini, 5 entrees, 5 desserts and 2 coffees and 5 very very satisfied tummies! Oh and a delightful server. Know that I cringe as I post this. I'm hoping they just had an off day? But will not be going back to verify that.

This place is stellar. Always accommodates large groups, quick order to table time, and nice atmosphere. Food tastes great as well. Try their Thai iced tea.

We have been here 4-5 times. The food has been decent - very good. Many dinner entrees will run $13-18. As you would expect with moderate prices the quality is better than average/low-end. The service can be spotty but manageable (sit with man facing the kitchen will help). I have a couple "test dishes" like Orange Beef I use to compare different restaurants. I like the Orange Beef here, better than anywhere else in the area. I should try other menu items though! ;) The vegetables have been cooked just right- not overcooked. Some dishes do seem to be authentic Singapore fare, which can be distinct but has Chinese and Thai influences. So you should expect the Thai to be decent here. Our family can do "cheap chinese" elsewhere to save a little money for routine meals (since we have found the best in that category), but Asian Table is a spot we like for dinner date-night or special occasions. The decor is on the newer/trendy side. However, the large glass wall, concrete floor, and open ceiling can make it cold inside if it is cold outside. Noisy too if it is crowded or has a large group, but usually it has open tables and the noise is not bad. I categorize us as picky with Asian food, with my wife being half Japanese and me being from southern California and having lived in Japan for a couple years. Only the chef's and "foodies" I know are pickier and I think they would be good here too.

Its OK. I've had much better Asian experiences elsewhere. Our service was terrible. We were one of two couples in the restaurant and it looked like the manager was friends with the other couple because she sat with them the whole time without even checking on us. Our server tended to both tables, but rarely checked on us. We waited forever for drink refills and getting our check. We ordered pepper steak and basil noodles. The food was just ok. You can find much better food elsewhere. My recommendation is Chop sticks off Peachtree parkway instead. The only good thing about our experience was the ambience, the spring rolls and the won ton soup.

Friday lunch and the place was 3/4 full. I had to wait to sit down, but once I did service was spot on. I had my drink order brought within minutes. Next came the delicious wonton soup. Done. Before I had a chance to wonder where the waiter was with my Veggie & tofu curry it was in front of me. Freshly made, nicely done.

Made another visit to Asian Table and again had a great lunch. Service is consistently friendly and prompt. The food is very tasty, authentic and very affordable. The ambiance is nice and classy. No reason, again, not to give a 5 Star rating.

This is a nice place that's worth the drive. My friend and I went for lunch and they had a good selection of Chinese, Thai and Singaporean dishes for their lunch menu. I ordered the Spicy Mango with Chicken, which was done very well. Not very spicy, but the pairing of mango with snap peas, bell peppers and asparagus was interesting and very tasty. The chicken was also nicely marinated and sauteed. The lunch also came with an egg roll and soup of your choice (I had hot and sour which was tasty). My friend had the Pad Thai with Shrimp, which was the sweeter type. The ambiance was nice - high ceiling, tonal colors, simple placement of Buddha faces, not excessive on decorations, lights and sound. The bathroom was very chic, just worth the drive alone. Definitely would come back to try their other dishes.

Skip the roti canai...horrible...tasted like a deep fried oily flattened croissant w/ coconut curry sauce...was hoping it would be more a crepe style. Had the char kway teow...not bad...reminded me of dry chow fun. The noodles were all broken couldn't eat w/ chopsticks. Sweet and sour chicken was good. What stood out the most...their homemade duck sauce. Overall, the only decent place for chinese in Windermere/cumming area but a lil overpriced and better than Lee's golden buddha...i hate that place. It's clean and service good. But better for take out. Place order, pick up some alcohol next door or go to Kroger, and take out is ready.

For Asian food it is pretty good to me. I have only ordered take away food and it has always been fresh and hot. As a chef instructor I always look for the health department scores on the counter and the have always been As which is very important to me. But everything is great!

  • Scott W.

My wife and I live close to this restaurant, it is true, but we also head into Atlanta all of the time for other dining experiences. I mention this because Cumming does not have a huge number of top restaurants, but this is an excellent Asian Fusion restaurant by any definition and would be successful in any location. The decor is very modern and tasteful and the staff is exceptionally nice and attentive. Everything I've had on the menu is tasty and fresh -- mongolian beef, spa chicken with vegetables, spicy basil chicken over brown rice, traditional steamed pot stickers. They get everything right, charge a very fair price, and have a nice atmosphere. This is worth the drive. Go soon and thank me later.

Nice place, clean, service was great. Had classical piano music, food was prepared fast and tasted very good - what else to ask for?

My aunt reccomended this place highly, so I was excited to go here. The restaurant has an upscale vibe and is much more tastefully decorated then your typical Chinese restaurant. However it reeked of cheap Chinese food, so I was a little iffy to begin with. It was not crowded, and the waiter was nice but not great at his job. He forgot to put in an appetizer we ordered, and then when we asked to order a few dishes for take out, he wrote it down, but then later said we never ordered it. I was unimpressed by the food. It was at level with chinese takeout but pricier. I don't live in the area, and at asian restaurants up north the food is much better. I had the beef teriyaki which was for some reason spicy, and chewy. Not my favorite. All in all I was underwhelmed.

I ate here with a client and really enjoyed the bathroom. No, I don't mean it in THAT sense. You people in ITP always jump to conclusions. So the bathroom had this really neat faucet. The food was good, but I'm basing that on what Cumming has to offer. One Google of Cumming, and you'll see what I mean. It's great for a light lunch, I finished my meal entirely. You can tell that they are used to the patrons wasting the rice, they gave me a spoonful. I've got street cred ya know. Should I whip out my family photos. Give me some rice, please. The Basil sauce is far too strong for the little rice I was given. Ok, goofiness aside, the food is good enough, considering there aren't a whole lot of other options.... and again they've got some cool bathrooms.

Our family has enjoyed dinner and lunch here several times. Everything is made with just a little "extra" that sets it apart from the other cookie cutter Chinese and Thai restaurants out there. For example...something as simple as Sweet and Sour Chicken which my 6 year old ordered. When it came, we all wanted to try it! Big beautiful puffy, tempura battered tenders with the most wonderful delicate fresh fruit simmered sauce! Not that awful cherry red yuck you normally get. The Singapore noodles and Thai dishes...yum. Love the staff here too. So sweet and very attentive but not intrusive. And yes, the decor is lovely - right down to the bathroom basins.

YES! A Singapore, Thai, Chinese place that I can walk to from my house??? GET OUT OF TOWN. The menu is out of this world, and it is pretty fancy inside, but they also have a patio area outside. The prices are reasonable and did I mention the menu?? I love cross asian selections. The first time I ate their I went straight to a Singapore classic : Sing Chow Men (Singapore rice noodles). It was good but a little to oily for me. I was kind of bummed. Second time, I wanted to go with the Char Kuey Teow, but because of concern about oil, I ordered a green curry to go. Again I was underwhelmed, it was not as flavorful as I like, and they put in fried rice instead of steemed. Probably both my fault, I should have ordered spicier and specified the rice. I will keep going, and maybe when I figure out how to order right, I will make this my number one in Cumming for Asian. For Chinese, we still prefer Lee's Golden Budda. Edit : 12/2009 upping to 4 star. We now eat there monthly and enjoy the food and the staff is excellent.
