I am hesitant to give this restaurant two stars. It was clean and the hibachi grills were well laid out. We were able to get a regular four top table quickly. Now here is the down side. I was the only one to order sushi. Mostly sashimi and a spicy tuna roll. The sushi was itself had a good fresh color to it, but it was the sloppiest sushi I've ever eaten. The rice would not stay together when I used my chop sticks and the fell off the rice every time because there was no wasabi between it and the rice. My friends ordered the steak and chicken with fried rice. They waited for an hour and a half for their food. Because I live on the east side of Atlanta, it's the best I can look for in sushi. MAN DO I WISH "I LOVE SUSHI" WERE STILL IN CONYERS! If you choose to eat here good luck.

I love going to hibachi restaurants but I will not be returning to this one. Had supper here on a Saturday night...sat at the hibachi...everyone around seemed to have a good experience. Vegetables were good and fresh. I am allergic to shellfish, which is where the problem began. They acted like they have never seen this problem before...and they cooked my food in the kitchen instead of in front of me! I couldn't believe it. This is the 1st hibachi place that would not cook my food in front of me. I just sat there while everyone else go there food and waited for mine, it was not fun. To top it off there was so much teriyaki sauce I could not see the bottom of the plate! It came out soup instead of chicken and vegetables! I was extremely disappointed in my supper. The only part I can compliment was the dessert that was included. They over charge and the service was not that good... Next time I will save my money and go to Tokyo in Conyers.

I think I'll be lenient and give it a 3-star. Is it expensive? Yeah. Is it noisy? Yeah. Is the sushi worth the price? Not so much. However, as a college student in the middle of nowhere and lacking adequate resources, coming here is not too bad - especially with an empty stomach. If you've ever dined in other sushi restaurants, this place will surely disappoint you. If you've never had sushi before, I suggest you going elsewhere to gain a pleasant experience. On a side note, from what I remember, the fried rice was actually okay given the price and quantity. As for everything else? Good luck.

This is the best thus far. It's pricey but you get more than enough to eat. The steak is so tender, and if you get a mixed drink, it's got alcohol in it!! And by that I mean, they don't skimp on it. As a matter of fact, they don't skimp on anything. The employees are very nice to boot!

If you are looking for Great Japanese stop in. really enoyed my meal ...filet and shrimp. The chef accommodated me with no sugar when grilling. The vegetables were fresh and good. The beef very tender a little too much soy sauce but good and done just right. The salad was also very fresh. My husband however said the chicken was way overcooked. The only funny thing is there stuck two rotini pasta into the Japanese soup..somehow that was a little different. The recommendation to the resturant is the tea was lukewarm and the server said that is just the way it is. It doesn't come hot...ok. I would come back in and order the filet and shrimp.

Im from CA so i might be a bit bias in regard to the price and quality of fish. The location on this place is a bit off so dont trust Apple maps. This place is located right off the high way. The food here is okay and bit overly priced. The sashimi i had didnt taste fresh but rather overly fishy and briny. The roll was small and lacked flavor. All in all it just seemed like a mediocre place. Its one of the few Japanese joints in the area. The staff however was courtesy and friendly. It definitely is not the best food however it is the only one in the area so I appreciate it more than it sounds :) Cheers!

I won't return. Hibachi selections were way too salty, and the chef gave a lackluster performance to say the least. I think management could be sensitive to the fact that adult couples don't want to be seated with families with noisy kids that run around and knock over chairs. We spent almost a hundred dollars (for two), which just blew my mind, and were really disappointed. But we brought home a big, heavy box of salty hibachi steak and seafood.

Last night we tried this restaurant for dinner. The establishment is clean, although I hate restaurants with carpeted dining areas. We ordered our favorite appetizer, calamari. I was disappointed when we received the dish, the serving was so small! Then I ordered tempura sushi rolls and my husband ordered the hibachi with steak and chicken. The rolls were good, but not necessarily extraordinary. My husband's steak was overcooked (he ordered medium), the chicken was overcooked as well. We ordered a volcano, and the drink was really good. All in all, dinner was just ok, but not worth the 15 mile drive.

I've downgraded my 4-star rating to a 2 as a result of last night's experience at Nagoya. It was only our second time eating here. We were a party of 6 and were seated quickly. Our server was the same girl who waited on our then party of 4 the first time we were here and who did very well with regard to table service during that visit. We were expecting the same great service. Unfortunately, it was lacking. Our soup & salad dishes remained stacked on the end of the table after we were done with them as did our appetizer dishes. This wouldn't have been that big of a deal if we had been a party of 2 or 3, but we were a party of 6 and the dishes were crowding my husband's eating space to the point where the grill chef had a hard time serving him over the mountain of dirty dishes. The waitress eventually came to remove the dishes, but didn't offer any of us drink refills. An older man who helps out in the dining room happened to walk by so we asked him for the refills. A few minutes later when we were ready to leave, we flagged him down again for to-go boxes. The waitress finally appeared a few minutes after that with the check and guess what? GRATUITY INCLUDED! Really? It was only 15%, but I guess automatic gratuity is excuse not to give good service at Nagoya. We normally leave between 20-25% gratuity when we dine out, but not last night. We paid the bill & the gratuity without mentioning our grievance because not ever returning speaks a lot louder and a lot deeper in their pockets than our complaint would have. It's unfortunate because their food is decent, but I refuse to be forced in the future to pay gratuity for absent service.

I did not go for sushi so maybe that is why my experience was better. We were politely greeted and seated as soon as we came in. The food was good and the show was interesting. At first I thought it was not going to be enough food but I was actually full when we left. I did not find it pricey. For a party of four with each person having the shrimp and chicken (One person in our party had shrimp, chicken and another meat) the bill averaged out to about $17.00 each. To me, that is not expensive. The restaurant was not noisy. Maybe I lucked out but I would surely go again.

Yummie--Nagoya rocks! Per the usual, my parents asked me where I would like to eat tonight, as I am the guest in Atlanta, and I really wanted some sushi after all the 'down home southern cooking' I have enjoyed these past few days. Nagoya it is...I have loved this place for years. It is a "usual" on my Atlanta trips. We arrive to a pretty empty parking lot, good for us considering it is a busy night for most places. Living in the Bay Area, parking is tough, so I am always amazed at the space these Atlanta businesses have to offer for parking. We saw my son pull up and park as we exited our vehicle, and then one of my brothers pulled up and parked as well--who does not love free dinner with the parents??? We walked in and were greeted kindly by the hostess (I guess she knows my daddy...too much sushi for him!) and she led us to a huge hibachi table. We were seated with many other people and given hot green tea and menus to begin our dinning journey. Hamachi, TNT, spicy tuna, crab, shrimp...what did I forget...oh yeah, sake sashimi...got that too. My daddy also ordered a HUGE pot of hot sake to drink for him and my son to share...which could prove to be a mistake tomorrow after the martinis, but again, YOLO... My sister in law is from Japan, Hokkaido to be precise, and my brother lived there for 6 years before bringing her here--they both told me, somewhat pejoratively, there is nothing like Nagoya in Japan, but we still love it. I ordered the lobster, scallops and shrimp with brown rice and tons of veggies. The hibachi chef came out and introduced himself to us while giving us a fun show. He displayed his talent with the many super sharp knives and his amazing ability to juggle several items all while reading our orders to us for accuracy. My mommy ordered an all veggie plate (she is the only southern fried vegan I have ever met) and my daddy ordered steak and lobster. My son got the chicken and I am not even sure what my little brother got after all the sake he drank...lol The chef tossed the meats, the veggies and all the other accoutrements in butter (except moms) and then they brought the rice. Everything was so delicious. I am not one to like fancy hibachi places, I mostly prefer sushi/sashimi...no frills--it is the Bay Area way...but I only visit once or twice a year so let me live a little ;) We finished off our food, and the sake, and visited and had a really great time. Thank you Nagoya for making our dinner fun, entertaining and special. Still catching up on my Thanksgiving reviews....thank you for being patient. This was before that awful foot surgery...I am just happy I could visit my fam and teach them about yelp. Stephani Smiles for Nagoya ;)

I understand. Not many Japanese restaurants have authentic food. But I do expect the quality of food to be okay. I ordered two different kinds of sushi and chatted with the chef. The flavor and taste of the sushi is not even close to what I paid for. Too dry and not fresh.
