I have been eating at La Ha for over 15 years in all of its incarnations and locations in Commerce. Stopped eating there a few years ago after a management change that was followed by a serious decline in food quality, but recently have been going about once or twice a week since I have been working back in Commerce. Food is (average) not bad, but in two weeks time and 3 visits, I was brought an entree I did not order 2 out of those 3. And then the staff argued that I didn't order what I know I ordered... even pointing to what I wanted on the menu. We walked out yesterday when it happened. I've had enough. Will not go back.

Excellent place to eat! Clean, friendly staff, great food! I got their chicken fajitas. Wish our La Hacienda in Arkansas as as good as this one! Atmosphere is nice as well. It's a great place to get Mexican food in Commerce/Banks Crossing.

I travel for work and my journey took me to Commerce, GA. After work, my crew and I ventured to La Hacienda. The 42 oz. Texas style margaritas, chimichangas and burritos quickly washed away the long day we had just experienced. The service was a nice complement as well!

Good fresh guac made at your table. Also loved the trio of tamales.

Located right next to the big Tanger Outlet shopping plaza, La Hacienda competes with the usual chain restaurants. So rather than have the same old, same old, I tried something different. Warmly greeted by the host, I was immediately seen to a table where I then waited ten minutes for a server to bring chips and take my order. The chips were about average and the salsa was rather plain. My carne asada was served quickly. The steak was way too thin and too fatty, but the flavor was there. Plenty of onions on top with a little bowl of guacamole and a pile of refried beans. Would I come here again? Probably not. Sorry!

It's just hard for me to get fired up about a Mexican or Chinese restaurant. Typically you get about the same thing - decent food with not so good service. It's very hard for them to break the mold. We had lunch Sunday with my daughter and her family here at La hacienda - it was good - not great. Prices were ok - not great. But I will say that the service exceeded what I normally get in a Mexican restaurant. All in all - very average. I'd go back but it's nothing to rave about.

Nothing special. Average food and staff. Pretty par for the course as Mexican restaurants go......

Used to be the best Mexican I had ever eaten. I took many friends and clients there to show off the food, not any longer. Manager left and now runs La Fiesta across the street. Restaurant went downhill quickly after that. The service is hap hazard, with you often getting the wrong dish. Wait staff seem to have a difficult time understanding the customer's orders. Food is mediocre at best, which is a shame considering the high quality and tasty food they used to serve. I missed it tremendously until La Fiesta opened. Not my favorite restaurant and I avoid it now. Go across the street to La Fiesta. or across the bridge to La Azteca. Both are excellent. You will thank me.

I first visited La Hacienda about six years ago and I've been a fan since. Their food is not "spectacular," mainly because it's Mexican and hard to screw up (like Pizza and Chinese.) But the food is consistent and the service is pretty good. For me, it's a comfortable place to sit and eat - I know what I want when I get there and it always tastes the same. I really like their beef burritos and chile rellenos.

I'll Pass: They were a much better establishment when the owned the La Fiesta building. If you like to feel like a cow in a pen with 1000 others or a crowded school cafeteria this is the place to go. If you sit at the bar you are better off. The food is good but not worth the horrible atmosphere.

Pretty average place. Salsa wasn't the best and I had to add hot sauce to try to make it better. It's right off 85 and easy to get to and we were just passing through GA. I wouldn't eat there again if I was passing through.

Hubby and I ate at La Hacienda after hitting the Tanger Outlet. We wanted something different from the normal chain restaurants. We were greeted and seated quickly on a Saturday evening and served with drinks shortly thereafter. The chips were warm, and the salsa had a nice zippy flavor to it (unlike, say, Chili's salsa...). We ordered a variety of items to see what La Hacienda could do ~ chicken soft shell tacos, ground beef hard shell tacos, and the flautas meal, which came with both beef and chicken flautas. The ground beef tacos were chock full of ingredients, but unfortunately the meat was just lukewarm; I think someone in the kitchen forgot to warm up the plate... But, the flautas made up for the "meh" tacos. La Hacienda marinates their chicken with green peppers. Both the chicken and beef flautas met with our approval. Finally, the chicken soft shell taco... Hmm, not quite enough meat, and unfortunately they put 2 of them in a foil, causing them to drip on each other and form a semi-solid mass. The tacos would have been better if they were individually wrapped. We ended our meal with a plate of cinnamon-sugary good churros. Hey, this review may sound like criticism, but only because this place could easily be a 3.5 to 4-star with a few tweaks. As evidence, we will be going here again on our next trip out to Commerce.

Stopped by after a day at Atlanta Dragway for NOPI Nationals, and it was exactly what we needed after long hours of starvation and heat exhaustion. Originally, we wanted to go to Ryan's Buffet but none of us were in the mood for THAT much food, so we decided Mexican it was! Our waitress was very friendly, and never missed a single thing. Ordered two carne asada plates, and one ranchero steak plate. The overall meal was just A-OK. Nothing too special about the meals, and nothing quite worth remembering. =/ If I'm back in the area, I'll probably still give this place another go if the company I'm with wants to again as well. Not a bad place to try at least once.

I've been here several time and the food is always good. The table side guacamole is great. The make all the typical Mexican dishes and they are a cut above the rest. The staff is friendly and the place is clean and neat. They have a full bar and cold beer.

They don't serve horchata. Minus one star. They "spiced" the guacamole with pepper. Minus one star. The service was average. Although paced very nicely. We had sopes and their chicken soup. The sopes tasted like they were on Indian fry bread rather than fried maza. The chicken soup was good, but I'm not sure I'd call it Mexican. Could've passed for Central American, but definitely not Mexican. All in all they've got the look, ambiance, and menu for a great Mexican restaurant. The dishes we tried however fell decidedly short.

We came here because we really needed to see the FIFA World Cup going on during a trip, but oh was the food bad & tasteless. Chips were thick and greasy, the salsa was watery, the meat quality was below standard and clearly bad quality, vegetables were greasy. Oh things one does for the World Cup. Please stay away. Not a #recommend.

My boyfriend and I had an excellent meal. Quick and courteous service done by our server, who never let our drink glasses get empty. The chips however where stale- just piece, salsa was tasty. We visit quite often and are always satisfied with the meal, service and bang for your buck.

I really enjoyed my visit here last night. I came alone and was treated with great service, constantly checked on to make sure I was doing ok. Great drink menu with many margaritas and mixed drinks. Reasonably priced as well.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
