I like the restaurant but the food isn't very good. The restaurant was good for a group and our waiter was friendly. He took care of us very well. The food is very greasy, overcooked, not fresh, and very bland. I ordered the Fajita Chicken Taco Salad and they put about half a cup of sour cream on top. I scraped that off to find iceberg lettuce with greasy but dry flavorless chicken and shell was soggy and greasy. The food is not worth me coming here. The location is convenient and a nice restaurant for a group, but after ordering off the menu I have little interest in ever ordering their buffet.

The food here is just meh. It's the same microwave Mexican you can get at almost any buffet. Burritos, tacos, chimichanga and that's about it. Rice with Veg-al in it makes it authentic I guess. Absolutely nothing out if the ordinary. At least the place is clean.

We are new to the area (moved from California) and we tried it on a friend's recommendation. My husband had the buffet and I had the enchiladas. We were not impressed at all. The enchiladas were dry and bland and the choices in the buffet were not great. Not authentic at all and we both agree that I can make better enchiladas myself. Service was good, but will not try again as it was a waste of money.

Tried for the first time today. The food tastes great, the portions are huge! The staff was extremely friendly, and restaurant was very nice & inviting. Definitely recommend. So far the best mexican food in Columbus...

My husband and I have been in 3 or 4 times and have switched up our orders each time with the same result- full happy tummies and thrilled tastebuds. The chiles releños are excellent, and the chicken and beef are both flavorful and tender. The salsa is this great compromise between mild and hot that made everyone happy. I'd recommend this place without reservation. Especially since all of the folks on staff are incredibly polite and the prices are great.

Because i've been to the lunch buffet a couple times and really liked it, we decided to come here for dinner. Plus we had a coupon for 15% off dinner so figured we might as well use it. If you like super hot salsa, ask them for something hotter than what comes with the chips & salsa. It tastes more like a roasted sauce but its goid if you like it really hot. We bought the margarita special to share which was a giant 64oz fishbowl type stemmed glass. It was very tasty and had enough alcohol but not too strong. It was so much of a drink tho that we couldnt finish it by the time we left. We ordered the tacos de asada plate and the rib eye steak plate. Both were reasonably priced, together under $20. The portions are big! I could only eat 2 of my 3 tacos while my husband couldnt finish all of his steak. His steak had a really good tasting char to it too. Both meals came with lots of rice & beans & sour cream & guacamole. So delicious. The kids meal was a big portion too. I couldve ordered that for myself and it woukd have been enough! We took home a little bit off all 3 of our plates. Service was good. Our waiter was really nice. He didnt know the password to their wi-fi tho but they advertise that they have it on their coupon. The restaurant itself is really nice and looks neat and clean in appearance. All the waiters and waitresses are dressed nicely and professionally. Overall, We would recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner out.

Drinks are good but the food is pretty average. Not great, but not bad either, just eh. There are definitely worse Mexican places to go in the area though, like El Vaquero. Yuck.

I ate dinner here earlier tonight with my boyfriend. I'm from the Midwest, so Mexican food in the south was a new experience for me. I ordered the Fajita Quesadillas, which was more than my stomach had room for. I wasn't blown away by the quesadillas--it tasted like they were lacking something, and it certainly wasn't cheese. Good selection and variety on the menu. However, the service was very slow; we waited much too long for our orders to be taken, to be checked on, and to receive the bill.

I had the lunch buffet, which was reasonably priced with a decent selection. The buffet consist of the standard chicken and beef quesadillas, make your own fajitas, and make your own taco salad. All of the standard sides are freshly made (guacamole, pico de gallo, cilantro, queso fresco, etc.). The buffet even has buffalo wings and pizza slices for those who are not in the mood for the standard Mexican buffet. You can order off the menu at lunch but the buffet should satisfy anyone dropping by for a quick meal. As a added bonus, all of the booths have a television for your own viewing pleasure. So the restaurant looks like a place you can enjoy football games on Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons.

I always say there is not a way this can get better and it does. If you are eating Mexican food somewhere else you are dining in the wrong places. This place is excellent. This is not my first time being here. I have been with friends, and my co-workers and even held my company quarterly lunch here. Never a problem and the food is amazing. Please do not take my word for it go for your self. I dined today with my boyfriend. The bill was $14.51 (with tax). We had 2 buffets (amazing) 2 soda's. The buffet is $9.98 for 2 and the soda's around $2.00, like I said go for yourself. Everyday they have specials on drinks and food. Try it!!

I have been here many times now and I must say it is by far my favorite for Mexican food in Columbus. On my last trip with my family for dinner I had the chicken fajitas which were excellent. Previous trips were for the $4.99 buffet. All you can eat for 5 bucks plus a drink is a great deal. Compared with the 3 other major mexican restaurants I've been to in Columbus this is the best in my book.

I'm from California and we have some pretty yummy restaurants back home so I've been on a search for one in columbus and this place is way off target. Nachos don't come with jalapeños, and tacos don't come with the standard onions and cilantro not even on the side. I got carnitas tacos and I expected shredded carnitas and was disappointed when it was just cubed pork instead. Beans and rice were okay but not worth the trip.

I will not be returning to this restaurant. Ever. The service was fine but the food was questionable and made me sick for the rest of my afternoon and evening. Runny "queso" with a weird aftertaste and sour tasting "beef" product.

Check out the lunch buffet! Always a great deal and well stocked with plenty of options. If a buffet just isn't your style, the menu has everything that your favorite Mexican place back home does. The service seems to be slower the emptier the place is, but is really nothing to complain about too much. The food is great, well portioned and super fast. One thing I've always found interesting about this place is the lounge area built right into the center, which is actually pretty cool. It's a great spot to sit and wait if the place is packed (which I've never experienced) or just hang out in and watch tv and/or chat with a few friends. Mind you, every booth in the place seems to come accompanied by it's own small television screen with a GoogleTV remote - awesome! By far my favorite Mexican place in Columbus, "as good as it gets" (around here anyway)!

Really good food, great service, happy atmosphere. I'm a big fan of the lunch buffet., but everything on the menu is great! It's impossible to find decent Mexican food in the South, but Viva El Toro comes the closest.

Nice place. Excellent food and excellent service. The bartender I also very knowledgeable and even goes out to the tables to talk to customers. He makes wonderful Margaritas and is surely proud of his work and drinks. All staff are very personable and friendly!

During my trip here, I was so hungry and tired of The Waffle House located right across the street, so I decided to give this place a try. I was very reluctant at first because Mexican food isn't all that great these days, but I was surprised at how great this food order came out to be. Seriously, for take out you don't ever expect much! I mean I sure don't, it's simple fast food and something fulfilling to hold you over until the next day. I ordered the Carne Asada which was made Perfectly. It was literally juicy and very well seasoned. They add a bunch of Caramelized onions and peppers and it was just simply delicious to be an order of take out steak. I also ordered beef Flautas but I wasn't impressed with that. It lacked flavor and it was just messy. They automatically give you complimentary salsa and chips with your order which is fantastic but the salsa was not so great either. What blows my mind is that salsa would fall under the same category as Pico De Gallo and the Pico De Gallo was so delicious and the salsa was just horrible. Hmmmm, it leaves me thinking 'what happened here'. The chips however, were awesome, fresh and very crisp. I will definitely come here again when I'm back for next years family reunion and I'll order some other items I had interest in. Overall the food is tasty, trust me I've had very bad MEXICAN food in my life lol.

I've been here twice. I've gotten the fajitas both times and I can't really speak for the authenticity of the menu, but the fajitas were amazing! Decent price too, for the amount of food you get. They have a huge fishbowl margarita here, but if you plan on drinking it you'd better have a DD or a taxi planned! Or 4 hours to kill. :) Staff is super friendly and awesome!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
