Healthy Meal suggestions for Mellow Mushroom

Waited almost a month after the opening of this new Mellow Mushroom before I tried it out with the boyfriend, simply because we knew the first few weeks would be fraught with growing pains. I'm fairly familiar with the Mellow Mushroom chain, having eaten at many of their restaurants in several different towns over the years, and this one was the worst. We went around 8pm on a weeknight, and were surprised to still see a decent crowd there, but we were seated quickly despite this. It all went downhill from there. It took far too long for us to meet our server, then it took even longer for her to bring our drinks, then it took a solid 45 minutes to get our meals (2 hoagies and an order of hot wings). Aside from that, the prices at this location are noticeably higher than others, including the Rome, GA location (which is awesome, by the way). Thus, since I live in Rome, and the boyfriend lives in Cartersville, I think we'll save our Mellow Mushroom outings for when he comes to Rome to visit me. When in Cartersville, we'll stick to Swheat Market or City Cellar, two great casual dining establishments with excellent service and reasonable prices.

Great place great service and great food! Olivia took great care of us. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a cold beer and some hot slices along with a terrific warm oatmeal cookie for desert all for around $30. We found a great new spot to hang out.

Their pizza is very tasty - and I don't usually like the crust. I also had the chef salad - you have to try the Esperanza dressing. It's addictive! Also tey the Capri sandwich.

Stopped in here last night on a whim. We're from out of the area, but ended up here for an evening drive. Saw they had a larger tap list than most MMs, but unfortunately that ended up being the only nice thing about this location. We've been to a few Mellow Mushrooms in GA, and most are pretty serviceable. This location however is easily the worst we've been to. We arrived around 8pm-ish and the place was dead. Two people at the bar and the rest were just employees running around. Like most MMs, the employees seemed mostly high school to early college aged. We were warned when we set down by our waitress that the drink menus hadn't been updated in a while, so she suggested we walk up to the bar to find out what they had available. Apparently they don't have their servers keep an updated list of taps with them. We ordered our beer and an appetizer of pretzels to start things off, then our waitress disappeared. We had both finished our beer about 30 minutes later when our waitress reappeared saying it would take a bit longer for our pretzels. I'm not sure why there was a wait, as NO ONE else was in the building. However, we could here (and see) the guys working the back screwing around with each other, as other employees set and hung out on their phones. We got to hear some loud drama about a missing employee as well. After coming back to us and saying it'd STILL be a few minutes, we hear our waitress yelling at a guy about our appetizers. Apparently they were too busy making pizza for the employees themselves. We finally got our pretzels around 9:15, didn't order anything else and just asked for a to-go box and left. All in all, a pretty awful experience. I'm not sure if management doesn't care or just isn't there, but this location is pretty sadly run. Entire place smells like stale cigarette smoke as well. Employees were smoking in the back by the restrooms. We're rarely in Cartersville, so we don't have to worry about coming back again, but I figured I'd warn the weary traveler.

Enjoyed our visit to this Mellow Mushroom in Cartersville. We went upstairs and the styling is quirky and fun. Service from the bartender dude was spot on and friendly. We had water, good beers. Enjoyed the hummus and the veggie pizza with Daiya cheese.

Mellow is always the same for the most part but this one venue is pretty cool and has a nice upstairs balcony and the place is always pretty clean. Food is about average I'm never a fan of their pizza but do enjoy salads there. There is a groupon for this place which I would recommend Nd the service here has been average. Young staff so hopefully you get what I'm saying

This place has gotten a lot of bad reviews lately but I am here to say that the food was amazing and the service was super! Thanks to "Sasha" ! We were here to watch our friends band play and it was amazing! Way to go Cartersville Mellow Mushroom for exceeding my expectations! The management is amazing! I would co wider myself to be a "food snob"! I am impressed!

As newbies to this area, we visited the upstairs bar area with some friends, and we're really impressed with the tap selections (they definitely had a beer for every taste in our group!) we ordered appetizers and pizza, and everything came out great. The manager seemed to be helpful to his employees, and he also was interacting with the patrons. The pizza ingredients seemed really fresh and unique, and the spinach artichoke dip was to die for. The wings we ordered were kinda on the normal side, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. We didn't stay late into the night, but it seemed their Wednesday night trivia crowd were regulars. If we lived closer to the downtown Cartersville area, this would likely become our favorite place. The prices at are fair, the restrooms were clean and modern, and the staff seemed well trained and professional. It was a nice weekday experience.

Love Mellow Mushroom! Was so happy to se that they opened up one in Cartersville. We had no wait at all, my lovely waitress hurried up and got us a seat. We had an appetizer, which were the Sweet Teriyaki Chicken wings, I highly reccomend them they were sweet but with a little spice they were moist and had the right amount of sauce. Next we ordered our pizza I got 1/2 mushrooms with extra cheese and on the other half we got a supreme, it was huge we had to take half of it to go. I would deinitely reccomned this place they have karaoke nght and the atmosphere was very vibrant.

Went with one adult 2 teens and 10yr old. They said no single slices sold even on kids menu after talking to my waiter the manager said they would do it. So I think that in itself is a good sign of management. Food was really good not bad prices a good service. Definitely gonna go back again. Really would like to have a go to place in Cartersville

Ordered the house special minus the green peppers. Got a cold pizza with geen peppers. Not sure how they could do this because they claim to make it all fresh but things like the mushrooms were room temperature. I took about two bites and sent it back...just not good. It tasted like a totinos pizza that had been nuked and then had a bunch of stuff thrown on. The manager was nice and took it off my bill but I think they'd do a lot better if they cared as much about food quality as they do about colored lights and atmosphere.

Love this establishment! The mushroom soup is to die for! The bruschetta is great, and the pizza is amazing. The only down side is it's pricey. There is a groupon deal on the internet, but maybe you could run some kind of local coupons . We don't go as much as we would like because of the prices. But if you want really good quality food this is the place to go.

Had the artichoke and spinach dip for appetizer and it was good. Not the best I've ever had but it was decent. For dinner split the Greek salad and a small Maui wowie pizza. The Greek salad was very good but the pizza was just okay. There are too many toppings on their pizzas in my opinion. And the prices are very expensive for what you get. I can eat at the nicest restaurant in the city for less.

This is the best Mellow I have ever been in!! Very cool historic building. They have 2 small outdoor patio sitting areas. One at ground level and one outside the second level. The second floor is only open Fri Sat Sun. It has a great U shaped (full) bar (many micro brews), hard wood floors, flat screens etc. Good place to enjoy a game. I am a fan of the food as well. Pizza or Calzone's are tasty!! Our service was great as well. Going again tonight!!

Absolute garbage, I do not recommend this to anyone unless you like bad service, soggy food, and dirty plates and silverware. I will NOT be coming back here again.

Don't know where these two went but it wasn't to MM. I have been there twice and ordered at the take out. Both times the place was packed. Ordered a beer while I waited. Both times the pizza came before I finished my beer- less than 30 minutes. The service was so good I asked to service people if they were from Cartersville. Have never gotten good service from locals. The lady next to me asked to speak to the owners she so impressed and claimed to have to frequented two different MM. To no surprise they werent. They pizza was fantastc. MM and i want miss either of you.

Third visit since they opened. First sausage and green pepper pizza was below average, but salad was very good . Salad was good and house special pizza were very good on next two visits. Service is very slow and on third visit a calzone and pizza came out cold. Evidently , the runner for getting food upstairs did not deliver to table as soon as good came out of oven. We had to send calzone back to heat , then they forgot about it in oven an burned it.

You can't go wrong with Mellow Mushroom. Food is delicious like most other MM's. I have always had good service and the atmosphere is great as well.

Terribly disappointed. First month always is a test but we had terrible service due to the girls worried about getting off instead of waiting on customers and earning more $$. Food was long in getting to us and subpar. Too bad because we had high hopes. Hope management takes note.
