3rd trip. Happy happy place. Food is great and staff super friendly. Try the fajita burrito or the jumbo burrito so you can take some home. Also. FLAN

A staple in our family -- we eat here two or three times a month. By far the best Mexican in Cartersville. I always order the "El Nopal Special" with steak & chicken (it's normally just chicken). They don't up-charge me for adding the steak either. Quick and friendly service. Have genuinely never had a bad experience here.

Good chips and and salsa. I ordered the carnitas and they were cooked very well. They had a "north of the border" section so the three year old in our party was able to get a hotdog and fries while others had more authentic Mexican fare. My boyfriend had the huevos con chorizo and it was very tasty as well.

Drink specials are the best in Cartersville. The food is great too. Its a local favorite after ball games on the weekend so it can get crowded quick. If you want something quick and filling try the El Nopal special.

Great atmosphere, service is good and the food is delicious .....the place is consistent and the Dept of Health consistently scores them 90+...... One of the better Mexican places in Cartersville. Go there often.

I've discovered that El Nopal stands for No Flavor. Very bland.

best mexican food in cartersville.. very good stuff. it's your standard americanized mexican menu, but that's a good thing in my book. salsa and cheese dips are really good, but skip the guacamole.. it's the stuff-that-looks-like-green-mayonnaise variety. margaritas are tasty and strong and they have giant draft dos equis as well. prices are good.. highest recommendation food-wise is the 'burrito jumbo'. great stuff

For Mexican in Cartersville, this is the best place to go. Nine times out of ten the service is very good and atmosphere is pretty good.

Food is half decent, the service, however, is less than that. I've heard people having good experiences with the place but I haven't seen it so far. The times I'm forced to go, I usually order a plain food (chicken fingers or a small hamburger) because anything else takes so long it isn't worth trying. Don't even think about asking for ketchup, it will be half an hour and you'll get two packets. Wouldn't recommend it, but it's not horrible either.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
