Our favorite place to get Mexican even though we have several that would be much closer to our home. Really good balance on the free salsa which is hard to find. Speedy Gonzales for lunch might be the best deal in Carrollton.

Best authentic Mexican food in town. Don't bother with the Donkey, Salsa, Border.. this is the real deal. Good prices. Great tacos. Lovely family run business.

I went to try this Mexican restaurant because all the others I've tried in town have been a disappointment. The cheese dip was cold, the chips were stale. The burrito sauce was awful, but the taco was delicious. The staff was nice and pleasant. It was okay, I've had better as well as worse.

Amazing authentic Mexican. Food was wonderful and full of flavor. Only downside is that there is no bar. Beer and wine only. Oh well.

By far, my favorite Mexican restaurant in Carrollton! My husband and I eat here often, and you really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Everything from the basics (salsa, queso, enchiladas, rice & beans, etc) to their super fresh Tostadas de Ceviche and array of soft tacos.... it's all just done so much better than anywhere else around! And the service is top notch. The staff is all so friendly and welcoming, they provide quick and attentive service without being overbearing. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area.

All I really need to say is DELICIOUS. The flavor beats all other Mexican restaurants around. This family owned and operated place is always on our must-do list when we are in town. Carne Asada Tacos are great along with everything I have eaten here. Give this place a try, you won't be sorry.

Wow! Small family owned Mexican joint... Shaping up to be good. No franchise food here! So this is the order... Salsa. It's got a great moderate consistency with great flavor. Cheese dip with Jalapeños. It is a good sized bowl and loaded with chopped jalapeños. Then for the entree. I ordered a Speedy. It's an order I commonly make to judge Mexican places against each other. This one is at or near the top. The ground beef in the taco actually is seasoned. A lot of other places should take note of this. Just browning beef and throwing it in a taco shell does not a taco make. For the enchilada I ordered the chicken and once again am pleasantly surprised at the great Flavors. I also ordered a side Carne Asada Taco. It too was very good and they bring you a little tomatillo salsa and it and the lime make that taco great. I might just get three o them next time! Best wishes owners, the food is top notch as well as the service.

Yay! I've been looking all over for real Mexican tacos around here and I finally found them! I like mine in a soft corn tortilla with good marinated meat and some cilantro and onion, and they have just that, and it's tasty too! There are even options for chicken-and-mole or tongue. (The closest I had found previously was Tacqeria Cancun on Maple St but they weren't tasty and after eating them I felt a little sick.) La Vacquerita is a winner!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
