We were very impressed with Yoon sushi. What you find here is a great team of professionals that are clearly in tune with the beauty and quality of the product and service. What true sushi lovers will discover is the daily fish specials posted subtly above the sushi bar. Here you will find the very best selection of market fish that other "sushi" restaurants would not carry. Cucumber salad is outstandingly fresh and spicy. Tip: we are convinced the chef could read our minds so we ordered two chef surprise rolls and we were absolutely amazed at the selections! Throw the menu away and let them do their magic. Lastly some people mention price. While it may be slightly higher than other run of the mill restaurants you will find the quality of the food is way above others and the service was great. We drive 35 miles from up in the north GA mountains to eat here. I guess we were happy!!!

My second visit here and I am just thrilled. The sushi chef is excellent, creative and knows how to serve your sushi so you can actually taste the quality of the fish. we had yellow tail, uni, sock eye and red snapper. All very impressive... Kerin Sake... was excellent. Yes, we spent 150 with tip... but considering we had drinks and 5 rolls... OM stars... that was inexpensive if we had driven to Atlanta it would have been much more. SO GO YOON!!!

Too expensive for the amount of food you get. The Sushi was good & fresh but the amount of Tuna in the rolls we ordered was minuscule. We also ordered a terryiaki plate that, for $18.99, was way overpriced.

Edward L. hauled me up here last Friday to have dinner with some of his friends. One of them was driving down from Blue Ridge, so Canton was a nice midway point for us to meet. Things started off pretty badly. We waited at least 10 minutes to get water and another 10 minutes until they came back to get our drink order. By the time we ordered food everyone had a chance to review the menu. I chose one of the deep fried rolls (I love that they don't try to gloss it up by referring to these as tempura fried) and it's basically the same Yami, Yami roll you can get other places. Unfortunately, this one wasn't so yummy. Everything took forever. It was really amazing. When not partaking in sparkling dinner conversation, I entertained myself my sipping wine and watching the awkwardly placed fish aquarium that was in front of people's crotches at the bar. Oh, if those fish could talk.

Another spectacular dinner with the family and Yoon Sushi. Huge portions and excellent quality. This is no cheap rate quality. Everything was super fresh and cut daily. This owner takes pride in his work and it shows. If you read some say the portions are small. That is SO UNTRUE. Check out the pictures I've posted for the proof! Will be a lifetime diner! It is the ONLY place my family does sushi night now!

Let me tell you what happened with this place shows me that some people still do care about the craft they have . I ordered lobster maki and as I came to pick it up the owner tells me he's appreciate if he could make me a different roll only because the quality of the lobster is a little old and he only wants me to get fresh fish. I couldn't believe it . He cares enough about my experience to tell me that ? It showed me what an amazing place this was . Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because fried rice a California roll and shrimp roll cost 25 bucks!!! And the chicken in the fried rice was pretty dry ! Thanks yoon sushi I appreciate the great food though .

Best sushi Atlanta wide!! Weekly sometimes bi weekly visits!! The spicy tuna fried rice on appetizer menu is delicious if you like spicy-

The sushi was fresh and delicious. The 007 roll was worth two thumbs up by its self. They're bento box with the chicken was amazing, highly recommend this!

YUM. This is my favorite place to take myself for a special treat. Their Dragon Rolls are my hands-down favorite! The service is great and the establishment has a cozy, almost romantic feel. I love eating here!

I will never go back. Truly the worst service I believe that I have ever had. After waiting for 45 minutes at our table, It would have been nice to get a napkin when ask for or maybe even a refill on water - they were even out of plates when asked for a small plate. The food was mediocre at best and the serving size was extremely small. It would take some great sushi to compete with such a poorly run wait staff. The food was definitely not worth the price. To top it off - they automatically added 20% gratuity to the top of the bill when the service was not worth a dime.

Wow. We have eaten here 3 times, but the last meal you really outdid yourself. I had the mixed tempura app which was light, crispy, fresh tasting and piping hot. You can really tell when the oil is clean and the batter is good quality and yours was top notch. My roll was amazing, but don't kill me, I forget the name now.... It was on the specials sheet and we think it was named after a place like the Canton roll? Bama roll? Grrr I swore I would order it again so I hope I remember when I see the menu next time. It had shrimp tempura and crunchies in top and eel sauce among other things. Even my diet coke was good. So fizzy. Staff was attentive and friendly. I like that it's seat yourself but you don't have the usual confusion or arguing amongst the staff as to who you belong to once you select your seat.

I've eaten at Yoon at least 12-15 times. Years ago it was great. Then the owners seemed to make some bad hiring decisions. I don't want a white kid with neck tattoos making my sushi. Went today and it was only Mr Yoon and a very nice server. Food was fresh, delicious, and quick. Hoping they cleaned house and are returning to the quality from a few years ago.

This was our first time eating Yoon's sushi and coming from a sushi critic I have to give the sushi 5 stars. The food was great and the owner were kind and talkative. Location is very nice with a very cool fish tank at the sushi bar. Over all a positive experience.

I'd wanted to visit this place for quite some time, and my girlfriend and I were very happy to finally try it out. We found Yoon Sushi to be very clean and inviting, and they err on the side of being somewhat traditional in their offerings (compared to other places that may give you sushi shaped like a hat--there is a time & place for that, but you won't find it here). My girlfriend (who doesn't readily eat raw fish) stuck with the teriyaki, and reports it was delicious. I dove head-first into a plate full of sashimi a small selection of rolls, and an onigiri. Everything was delicious. Preparation and presentation were both very nice, and service was spot-on friendly. My only complaint: Yoon Sushi is expensive. I mean, it seemed expensive in comparison to other sushi places I enjoy. Still, for the occasional sushi treat, we'll keep it on the radar for future visits. Holler if you're coming with.

Had an absolutely amazing experience! I basically walked in and told Brad the chef that I wanted him to make me whatever he wanted. He asked how much I wanted to spend, I told him and enjoyed a platter of so many different types of sushi that by the end I didn't want to leave and even though I was full, I asked for another roll. I am in the military and have been to many sushi restaurants, even ones in Japan and Yoon is one of the freshest sushi places I have been to. Brad, Stacey, and their staff are amazing and even though I am not from GA, when I visit family I will be coming back frequently.

We LOVE Yoon Sushi! We did find it pricier than other local sushi places but it is sooooo fresh you can really tell the difference, and we are willing to pay the difference. We recently went on a Saturday night and ordered the Sakura Boat and a side of Sea Scallop Sashimi. The Scallop sashimi was to die for! It was so delicious we decided next time we'll save it for dessert- it comes out at the perfect cool temperature and is soo sweet and creamy. I would advise if you are going soon, to try to go during non peak hours. Hopefully, they will get the wait staff up to par with the excellence of the food, but for now you may be waiting a long time for your food surrounded by dirty tables if you go on a Saturday night. All that being said you know this is good sushi if we are still giving this 5 stars! We will definitely be back and we recommend it to all of our friends, with the same advice listed here.

Absolutely the best sushi I have had in Atlanta -- new owner as of September 2013 -- and he is also the master sushi chef! Be sure to ask for the "chef's choice" when it comes to sashimi or any other specialties.

I looked for a sushi place near Canton and this came up in Yelp. Reviews looked good so I thought I'd give it a try. I can't tell you how pleased I was. My wife and I had the Georgia roll and the Double Dragon roll. They were excellent! We've been to several sushi places in many other states and have to say that this one is right up there with what you'd expect good sushi to be. Yoon is right behind the counter making your rolls fresh for you. Tell him it's your first time there and you will receive a complimentary cucumber salad. If your looking for sushi don't overlook this place. I will definitely be back many times over.

I loved it! Been there for my birthday, they made me a special roll calling it with my name! So cool! The sugo was really good, not the best I've ever had but fresh and highly decorated! I'll go again..

This is our favorite new Sushi spot. We recently moved here from the West Coast and love good sushi. The prices are a little steep, but service is top notch, and the quality is great! We will be back for sure. Thanks Yoon!

When I miss great Californian sushi...this is the place. The Yummy Yummy (Spelling?) Roll is simply the best. Wish they would open for dinner before 5 pm! Great attention to detail and great decor whether you dine in or do take out. Tranquil music adds a nice touch.

Best Sushi in Atlanta. I think Yoon sushi is the only place that comes close to the sushi quality in Japan Even though the location is 30 minute away from downtown Atlanta, It worth to go and try it out. It is a small restaurant but you will be impressed in service and food quality! Servers are always nice and they are pretty. The Salmon sushi is amazing . Love Yoon sushi !!

I wasn't a big sushi eater, but this place changed my mind! Very fresh. I personally like the Chicago roll. A little pricy, but I guess with sushi, you get what you pay for. Made right in front of you by an experienced chef.

Amazing sushi! The place is very clean, with a very friendly atmosphere on top of fresh fresh sushi! We even got to try their new house dressing instead of ginger dressing... We were lucky lucky lucky to try it for first time. We have found our new sushi place and its in Canton GA!

Not bad considering it is located on the outskirts of where metro atlanta collides with redneck hillbilly. Most sushi restaurants in fringe country towns like this usually have a hibachi attached to it so the rednecks can eat their steak, a buffet attached to it so the rednecks can each chicken fingers and pizza, or market their menu as chinese / thai / japanese so the rednecks can eat sweet and sour chicken. So far I am a fan. Sushi is nothing magical as far as I am concerned. Your fish is either fresh and high grade or it is not. A few places can elevate it to a higher art form, but if you are ordering a sashimi plate and a couple of rolls, then it is just about the fish. The fish was very good quality and enjoyable. Big winners were the Octopus and Uni. Also had some miso soup that was average, but I was more concerned about my sashimi, as that is why you go to a sushi restaurant anyway so I can overlook that without a problem. I have no complaints about the service, it was just fine. They were nice enough to bring out the little plastic chopstick trainer attachment for my 4 year old so that she could learn how to use her chopsticks properly. They were even nice enough to let her take it home. Atmosphere is nice and I would consider it upscale considering the surrounding area. Decent, well-cleaned bathrooms other than the outside of the entry door.

I have been here about 5-10 times, seems like I go here on average 2 times a year. If I would have reviewed this place before I moved to Atlanta almost 2 years ago, this place might have squeezed out a 5 star rating. The décor is really nice, bamboo everywhere. They even have an aquarium in the bar. This kind of attitude is foreign to the Canton area. One thing you will have to get past though is the "not so Asian work staff" not that it's a problem or anything, but you may have to listen to gossip and things of that nature on a slow night, and being Canton, you will have your fair share of those.

Stopped in a month ago for a take out menu and KNEW I had to eat here soon! Beautiful, clean, tastefully decorated, and smelled wonderful! Tonight, we finally ate there and were NOT disappointed! Had miso soup, seaweed salad, shrimp dumplings, and a small combo sushi/ sashimi boat. Soup was served in covered bowls- nice and rich and hot. Salad was a generous portion over thinly sliced cucumber- very nice. Although dumplings may not have been made "in house", they were tender and served with a small garnish of marinated shirzo. BUT THE SUSHI... I generally pass over sweet shrimp, but whatever they marinated it it made their nigiri SING! All the other nigiri was presented beautifully and simply, and served over delicious rice. The sashimi was very nice- sliced thick enough to nearly call for 2 bites and well presented (paper-thin lemon between the seared tuna). The "boat" came on a plate, but we were there for the food, and we were well pleased! There is only one other sushi restaurant in Atlanta that comes anywhere CLOSE to the quality and expertise we experienced tonight. We are BLESSED to have these folks in Cherokee County!

Superior Sushi. Worth your time, they are not very fast with the order just to let you know. The quality of food is there, the lunch specials are the best deals.

  • George R.

The food quality has always been good here, but the prices are now crazy! The Chirashi for one person is $47.99! Most good sushi places offer the same dish for $18-$23. A 16oz draft beer was $8.50! I'm surprised that this restaurant is still open with these outrageous prices. I used to enjoy this close to home sushi spot, but not anymore with the price gouging that is going on here. If they ever put their website back up with menu prices that are reasonable then we'll be back since the food was very good.

Hard to believe it has taken me this long to write a review for Yoon's; we've only been eating here for 8 years! Some of the best Sushi I have eaten. Traveling across the country and trying sushi elsewhere it never seems to compare to Yoon's. People find it hard to believe that there can be good sushi in Canton, GA; but this is definately a hidden gem. Food is good, portions are large and the price is reasonable!

  • Cailen B.

When they are on it's great... when they are off it's way off. Too many times we have gotten take out only to receive the wrong order. I stick with safe items that are not completely raw so that if it's an off day I won't get sick. When in a pinch for some sushi I will go to Yoon but I have had too many negative times there to be a regular. The build out is beautiful especially considering the small space they are in but check your take out bag before you leave!

I've been here twice now and so far it's a great local spot for sushi. The restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere, perfect for relaxing with good food and friends. The sushi is very good, large pieces at a fair price with many options depending on your appetite and budget. Service and chefs are quiet, but friendly and courteous.

We were out late and wanted to hit something be4 everything started closing. Husband wanted sushi so we Yelped this place and it was nearby and some folks gave it good reviews..... well, I hate to say it, but I left with a stomach ache. I ordered the dragon something and the eel on it seemed a little overcooked or old(?!). It was a bit pricey and the server was totally not engaging. The atmosphere was OK, but I found it strange that they played 70's R&B Oldies. I think you could find somewhere better.....

I was elated to find a good sushi restaurant and in all places Canton, GA. I have dined in twice, but I prefer to take-out. I highly recommend the cucumber salad, ruby sashimi, tuna tataki, crunchy spicy tuna maki, spicy lobster tempura maki, philly maki, and the ebi tempura maki. I have never had a bad food experience here. Everything that I have tried has been delicious! I do agree with the others' comments regarding the staff. It's hard to get into the decor when the waitresses are actually from Canton.

As far as good sushi goes, this is the best I've found north of Kennesaw. The owner is very nice, and even made a few pieces of different fish for me to sample, without charge. I'm sure this is because i frequent this sushi bar often. Always fresh, always quick, and Ive never had to wait to seat. My fav here is the Chicago maki, and the caterpillar maki, hands down, awesome!!!!

If quality is what you are looking for, this place is the way to go. Each piece of sushi melts in your mouth like no other. This is the place where you will learn what real sushi is.

This is my "go to" sushi place in North Atlanta. The fish is always amazing and there is a lot of variety on the menu. On special occasions we get the combos which have a nice sampling of their menu. My husband doesn't like sushi, but really enjoys the other items on the menu. We usually do take out, but when we have friends in town we dine there. The atmosphere is great, but I so miss the Japanese music they used to play.

So here I reside, in the toothless wonder capital of the world otherwise known as Canton. We out here in these parts don't have a lot to go on, but we do speak Cantonese and we have a really nice sushi bar called Yoon Sushi. Make no mistake about it, my friends, I am NOT your typical have to eat sushi three times a week kinda guy, but I have acquired a taste for it and am really very impressed with this place. If I leave thinking to myself that I should've got another roll to go, then you have to know that it was damn good. I really love the look of the place inside. It looks very trendy and it's quite a breather from the mom and pop typical boon-dock shops up here. Don't get me wrong, we do have tons of chain restaurants, but even they are filled with sweet tea drinking, tobacci spittin toothless wonders. This place actually took the time to get the lighting perfectly with very nice table-top aesthetics. Now for the only bad part... I'm not sure that this is nice to say or not, but when I have a very country accented girl wait on me in a sushi shop, it kind of distracts from the whole theme, ya know? Not only was she out of place in how she spoke, but it seemed as if she really didn't want to be there at all. Also, unfortunately, she screwed my order up by not bringing me my appetizer before the entrees like I expected and requested. If you are ever driving through these here parts and are in the mood for some really good sushi, do stop here. I would stay away from Sally's section (real name omitted for discretion of said individual) and just sit at the actual bar.

6 months ago, I would have rated this 5 stars. But service has seriously gone downhill. The last time we were there, I ordered a combination (sushi and a roll), and asked to NOT include a particular piece of fish that I just didn't want to eat, and to also sub out the roll for another. I expected the charge (it's usually $1-2) to do so. But what I got on the bill, was a charge for $2 for leaving the one piece of sushi off the plate (you'd think they'd appreciate not wasting their fish) and $3 for the sub (the original roll and the sub'd roll are only $2 difference in price). I thought they'd priced it wrong. When I asked the waitress about the charges, she said she'd 'check with the manager'. She came back a few minutes later, she said 'the big manager is here tonight, we have to charge for everything, otherwise we wouldn't". I asked her to again confirm, that she was charging me $2 to leave a piece of fish off of my plate. She stared at me blankly and said yes. I repeated how disappointed I was, and that in light of this, I doubted that I would come back, and would certainly not recommend it to friends. She continued to stare blankly and let us pay and walk out the door. I know it doesn't seem like much, but $5 in extra charges, when I would have just ordered everything separately had I known up front.

Yoon Sushi is only 1 mile from my house. its really where i learned to love sushi. If your a 1st time sushi person or your skeptical about eating raw fish, Yoon's is the place to go. When you 1st walk in you will find a nicely decorated in typical japanese elements. Yoon's is small with only 10-12 tables plus the sushi bar which seats around 20. At the sushi bar you find fish tank that runs around the table portion of the bar. Its a nice touch but a little strange to see when eating raw fish. Most of the time if not always Yoon him self is behind the bar making your food, which i think is great for a restaurant. There Maki is some of the biggest i have had at any sushi restaurant. its a good 1 1/2 to 2inchs around. they have a lot of creative orignal maki rolls with some faboulous sauces. i recommend the Yumi Yumi Maki roll. i owe it all to that roll that got me into trying more raw dishes. I've sence become a sushi freak. Yoon's has a great variety of Sashimi, they have 5-6 different types of tuna you can try. some of it being very expensive. One of my favorite apps is the fried red snapper. its sashimi size snapper deep fried in a lite tempura with ponzu sauce and lemon juice. they do have a number of cooked dishes like chicken teriyaki which is very flaoverful. Lunches at Yoon's are your best value. there Bento boxes are huge and cheap. wide range of things you can get on it. If Yoon's where in Atlanta or Buckhead you would never be able to get in. its a diamond in the ruff being stuck in Canton. Check out Yoon's for great fresh local sushi.

We drove about 10 miles because we heard how great this place was -- and we were not disappointed. Great sushi and very friendly sushi chefs that are always ready to explain what they are making. The portions seem expensive until you see how huge they are. A single piece of nigiri sushi is easily twice the size of what you get anywhere else. The rolls are very good and also huge. Next time I go there I think I will sit and watch the chefs for about 10 minutes before I order anything. They have so much on the menu and it all looked so good as it was being carried to other tables. I look forward to going back soon.

This place is in Canton and I have to say, this is some of the best sushi that I've ever had! And I've had a lot of sushi in a lot of places (Atlanta, Augusta, Montgomery, Vegas, New York City, etc.). The service is always friendly and the owner's have a tendency to remember who you are, when you last came in, and what you last ordered (pretty amazing). The pricing is on par with sushi in the city (Atlanta, that is) and is often times better. I also love that it is SO convenient to me.

This place was pretty good. We're still searching for a Japanese restaurant near us that does curry, but sadly this wasn't it. They did, however, have a couple of dishes with Korean influences that made me happy: the Korean beef or kimchi nigiri, both of which were great. Hopefully they make a "secret" Korean menu soon like at Lin's, where you can get American Chinese, Chinese, or Chinese Korean menus! The owner seemed to be Korean, so I'm hoping it can happen because sometimes we don't want to drive to Marietta or all the way to Duluth for good Korean food when we don't feel like making it at home (and yes, as a white guy, the "we" is more accurately my Korean American wife!).

My fiance and I wanted to try some sushi place around Canton, GA, and we stumbled upon this place. The hours are very strange because they open at the morning, close in the afternoon, then reopen later in the evening. But anyway, the inside decor has a very dark theme, but it was still nice. Service was a bit slow due to lack of waiters and waitress... And I can recall one of the waitress offering me a job right there for some reason lol. Besides slow service, the sushi was good and dish representation was very mouthwatering lol. We ordered 4 rolls, but can't recall what they were. Even though they're good, their sushi is quite expensive... Overall, it's a nice place to have sushi but not the best.

Food is great but Stacy I'm assuming the owners wife is so unprofessional she treats the serves like crap. Every time I go in I feel so bad for those poor girls and how they are treated. I would have cussed her out by now not sure I will be going back simply because of her

This place is convenient and wonderful. I'm VERY surprised at the quality and flavor of the sushi all the way out here in Canton. The service is attentive and helpful. I highly recommend this place. The avocado maki was so good I ate two. This is also a strangely good place to people watch. I will continue to support this place.

I was in the area for two weeks, and ate at several sushi restaurants. Yoon Sushi was easily superb, and put out the freshest dishes. The owner/chef is good fun, and loves doing his thing. I went twice in a span of 10 days, and he remembered exactly where I sat, what he made for me.
