Their hibachi grill is good, the chefs need to have a little bit more of a personality. They didn't do any tricks and my son was so disappointed.

Can't beat their hibachi deal on Wednesdays. Food is consistent and service was good. I would go back on Wednesday because I enjoy hibachi and this place doesn't disappoint.

I have eaten here a few times, and each time has not been anything special. The first time a couple of my friends and I finished watching a movie and walked over to grab some sushi, we ordered and then proceeded to wait for over an hour for our meal and I promise you the restaurant was practically empty. When the sushi finally arrived it was good, not great, but hey we were starving they could have given us anything and we would have eaten it. Had their hibachi, and it was defiantly not good. I could barely eat mine because of how salty everything was. I give it two stars because I like the idea of the place, but I wish they were more organized and focused on the food.

I have to say, the new ownership in this place has changed my opinion on the Japanese Hibachi. I go to the Hibachi for the show, to entertain the hell out of my kids around a hot metal plate. This place did not disappoint me, but mostly for one reason. That reason being Super Star Hibachi Chef and Comedian, JAI!! Jai is about the most entertaining chef I have ever met at one of these places. He has the whole act down, and does it with a smile on his face. This guy should be the dude that trains all other Hibachi Chef's world wide. He is interactive with his audience, which is the best part. If you go here, just ask to sit at his table. The other chefs were nowhere near as interactive as this guy. Show was fantastic, and the food honestly wasn't that bad either. He paid close attention to the food the entire time making sure that nothing was overdone which is usually the biggest problems at one of these places. Steak was made to order for everyone that ordered, scallops and shrimp were not rubber. I had a couple of the rolls too, they were all right but I think the hibachi is the way to go here if you get Jai. Seriously, ask for this guy by name and interact with him. He is worth it.

Food was OK, miso soup was served cold. The sushi chef was very accommodating. However, why was there 6 people behind the sushi bar, only three appeared to be sushi chefs, two may have been dishwashers, did not give me a lot of confidence in the kitchen. If I lived the the area I would never step foot in this place again, so being from Kansas City makes it easy to avoid the restaurant..

Not the best sushi. I waited over 45 mins before my food came. The waitress did give me a 50% off on my bills. But still.

I have been coming here and enjoying the rolls and hibachi for several months. Tonight was stupidity. I was with a group of people and I was paying. We sat at Hibachi and all ordered filet and lobster and in some cases added shrimp or scallops. Our waitress was MIA. Empty glasses were the norm. I got up to speak to the manager on duty. I told him I was thinking of ordering a few rolls to go. He said "only dine-in rolls are 50% off." So I asked him, sarcastically, what if I ordered for dine-in and ate a piece and asked for a "to-go" box. He said "no!" He said I would have to eat "most" of it. I told him that was a silly rule and he said "I'm just following the rules". Well... They missed out on my additional orders and they will miss me as a customer. This is stupidity and I will not reward stupidity.

My wife and I ate there just about weekly for quite some time because they were running very good specials. The food was always about 3-4 stars.... Enough to keep us coming back for the price. Until - on one of those trips I ended up getting sick the evening of my meal. The kind of sick you get when you get food poisoning. Not knowing if I just caught a bug or if it was actually the food, my wife and I tried it again about 2 weeks later. This time I was fine but she got sick that same evening with the exact same symptoms I had a couple weeks earlier. Im not saying it was their food but it's just too coincidental for me to go back. The place really never looked that clean to begin with. Can't say I've ever gotten sick like that again since I stopped going there.

Fiance and I wanted to try this place out because he never went to a hibachi restaurant. This place was packed when we came inside, but we were able to find a seat in front of the hibachi grill. Our chef (can't remember his name sadly) was very nice and his personality enlightened our experience. The food was also very good too and was made hot and ready within seconds. Their sushi, on the other hand, wasn't that good... But their hibachi menus are great. Everything on the menu is pricey, but we got ours half price because of a special that was going on.

Tried the other night and party of five was quite happy with the food and the show, great value for the money was what I liked as well. Will have to try again in the near future. Didn't have any of the sushi as the group loved the show that Jai put on which was worth the meal alone.

Well, excited to try a steak and sushi place in the area. It's under new management and running specials. This was the place my daughter wanted to go to for her birthday. Well, the sushi was good not great. Sashimi was pretty good and fresh. The hibachi chef needed more practice or refinement. He used a lot of oil....over cooked shrimp. I hope they work on the whole thing, as the restaurant is in a food location and let's face it not a lot of choices without traveling a great distance.

My husband and I went for $1 sushi last night for the first time. We had a good time but we weren't impressed with the sushi. It didn't have a whole lot of flavor and we both said the sushi is better at Pacific Buffet. The decor of the restaurant was hip and cool but the food left a little to be desired.

Last Thursday, November 6th, my wife and I visited Okinawa. It was spectacular. I learned to love sushi in 1979 while living in Los Angeles. If you grow up on sushi in LA, you learn the difference between mediocre, good, and great sushi. Now under new management, Okinawa is great. Three years ago we moved up the mountains from downtown Atlanta. There are several great sushi bars in Atlanta, but Okinawa is now our favorite sushi bar. We are sashimi fans, and those of you who share that passion, know that with sashimi there is no way to disguise fish that is not fresh or fish that is inferior under piles of rice, sauces and creme cheese. Our sushi chef at Okinawa was named Sky, and he is truly a master. We started with tamago nigiri, which was slightly warm - a beautiful contrast to the cold rice and the hint of sweetness in the egg was the perfect contrast to the flavorful nori. Then we ordered salmon and yellowtail sashimi, both of which were perfect. At Sky's suggestion we also ordered toro. Actually I believe that it was otoro, which is the highest grade of toro. It was so fatty that it was almost falling apart and was sliced perfectly. It almost melted in your mouth. Our sashimi assortment was presented in a spectacularly dramatic, but elegant way. Yes, my wife took a photo of it to make our daughter (who lives in Atlanta) jealous. We also ordered vegetable tempura, which had a brilliant, hot and crunchy crust, wasn't oily in any way and the vegetables were the perfect texture. I ordered a salmon-skin hand roll. The marriage of textures was fantastic and the flavors could not be beaten. Then we asked Sky to create a roll of his choosing; we gave him no instructions other than we didn't want mayonnaise, creme cheese or anything fried. When it arrived, we made no effort to identify the varieties of fish within it, but it was spectacular, and beautiful. This Sky is really creative. We were absolutely full... however, we just couldn't resist ordering toro a second time to cap-off our experience. If you like energetic and fun servers, ask for Courtney... and tell her that Judson and Kate sent you. I promise you'll get super-warm, efficient and friendly service. Courtney pointed out the new owner, and when he walked by we congratulated him on his new establishment. He was gracious and friendly and noticed that we were low on Sapporo, which he quickly remedied. If you want sushi that is a touch above Okinawa, then go to Masa in New York City... you'll only pay $450 per person. [No exaggeration.] But if you want great sushi and great service in Georgia, go to Okinawa.

Ordered the chicken bento box and it was NOT good. The bento box comes with a ginger salad, miso soup, teriyaki chicken, rice, vegetables, and a California roll for $11.99. This seemed like a good deal until I tasted the food. First the miso soup, which I normally enjoy. It smelled like dirty, standing dish water and tasted how I would imagine that tasting like! The salad was not for me, others may like it. The teriyaki chicken was chewy and had an excessive amount of sauce on it. The California roll was ok, I've had way better! I will never go back to this restaurant! Don't waste your money.

So delicious! My friend and I went here the other day and ordered at at the hibachi tables. It was half price! Food was amazing. The portions were huge! And the chef was entertaining. We ordered some drinks too, and they were strong! But also delicious. Everyone must eat here at least once, especially since it is half price right now.

We did not try the hibachi, but the table next to us asked if they could 'have a pizza delivered instead.' If that tells you anything about the wait. The hibachi is not well ventilated and I felt like I couldn't breathe. We ordered a super crunch roll and a fantasy roll. It took over 30 minutes to arrive at the table. The super crunch was good. The fantasy was strange, the whole roll was hot, like it was stuck in a microwave. Maybe I didn't understand what I was ordering when I chose that one. I do like sushi that has a cooked and raw element, but not hot rice and hot seaweed. They were out of tea. Something about the distributor. There seems to be a way to rectify this... We had no napkins, no bowls for soy sauce. The dirty plates remained on every empty table and they kept the cart to bus the tables in the center of the dining room which was unappetizing and tacky. I'm convinced they refilled the lite soy sauce with extra salty soy sauce, but I could be crazy. Two other tables were grumbling about the food and the wait. You know when you exchange non verbals with other patrons like 'can you believe this?' It was like that the whole time. Yoon sushi is better all around if you don't mind going to holly springs.

I wish I could have given this restaurant no stars. We went in and placed a takeout order. Part of what we ordered was not available, so we changed the order, paid and were told it would be ready in 15 min. We came back in 20 minutes and waited another 5 minutes before we could get anyone's attention. Finally the girl who took our order greeted us and told us our order would be ready shortly. They had not made our salads yet or started part of our sushi order. After another 15 minutes we were ready to leave with our food. The sushi was not good and was nothing like the description on the menu. The restaurant seemed dirty and the staff had no direction and there was no manager in sight to help them. The Okinawa in Adairsville continues to be one of our favorites. We won't be back to the Canton location.

We went here because of some rave reviews. They must have slacked off. Good: Air conditioning worked Bad: -Tainted Food...both the hubby and I had to use the toilet all night long. My mom didn't ... So it was either the lobster or the filet that struck us. -No music...ambience was like a cafeteria -The moment the hibachi chef walked away, the server asked if we wanted a to-go box and as we were still mid-meal, passed out the styrofoam. We had to find a place for it to sit to finish eating along with the check that was totally prematurely passed out. -no sherbert... In fact, server didn't ask us if we wanted dessert. -had to ask for chopsticks...I remember a time when you had to ask for a fork Kani House is the only place around that does a good job. Other than that, head to the city!

We stopped in on a Sunday after church. The hibachi was $2 off. The food was really good. It was really a great way for a family with small kids to enjoy a good hibachi meal without spending $80. My husband got the Ninja & I got the filet and shrimp. We had the kids split the chicken hibachi. They loved it and the restaurant was more than happy to accommodate the children. We haven't tried the sushi.

When this place first opened, and they replaced my favorite Chinese restaurant, I will admit that I was a little biased. But, after eating here a few times I've warmed up to the place. It isn't anything very special, but the food is good and the atmosphere is welcoming. The price is a bit more than I'd care for, so it isn't somewhere I would eat often, but it's nice every once in a while.

Ahh, hibachi. There is nothing like a relaxing evening with a couple of friends sitting around a grill and having somebody perform while cooking for you. My wife and I visited this restaurant last night (Saturday). Parking spaces were ample, but the lot wasn't empty. We arrived a bit past 8pm and obviously missed the dinner rush of the yuppie elite in the Canton area. Showing up late had caused quite a stir for the hostess. She seemed rather surprised that people would actually come into a "Japanese Steakhouse" that late. After the confusion had worn off, the hostess finally decided to seat us at a table/grill all to our own. The waiter was prompt with menus and inquiries into drink preferences. He lacked a sense of formality... Anyways, the menu is the same as every other wannabe "Japanese" style steakhouse. I swear they clone these places and change the name! The prices were about the same, too! As for food, I had the filet and salmon combo; my wife had the filet and shrimp combo. The filet was cooked perfectly as was my salmon. I tried the shrimp and it was also cooked evenly, not rubbery or over-cooked. Overall, the experience was good, not great. I would go back to experience the specials. You may ask why I gave it a 3-star as opposed to say a 4 or 5. The dings are as follows: - Lack of showmanship from the chef. Even though we were the only 2 people at the table, he should have been more interesting or at least showed that enjoyed his work. He just cooked and didn't do much or say anything. - The spaghetti noodles. They had a bowl of spaghetti noodles that they do up in a sesame/garlic seasoning with soy sauce. I would say it's a weak attempt at a lo mein, but that is a different culture. They even charge an extra 1.98 for fried rice when it comes complimentary at other steakhouses.

This is one of the WORST sushi places I have ever been to. I have been twice now and both times have just been awful. I tried the Hibachi as well and was not impressed. Don't waste your money and skip this place. People have raved about this place to be and I was so disappointed. I think they bank on the fact that they're on Riverstone and so close to the theater. Try Mizu or Yoon for a better experience nearby.

  • Carrie R.

Came for a Friday night dinner while visiting friends in Canton, ordered the filet. Mediocre at best. The Ginger dressing was like thousand island. They served spaghetti with the meal in addition to rice, a weak attempt at Lo Mein, possibly? Server forgot our salads and then brought them during the meal. There is nothing particularly special about this place.

First off, I am going to have to defend my 4 stars. I know that this place is way way way an Americanized Japanese steak house. Also, the service can be borderline decent. This place has a couple of very excellent specials during the week, 1 dollar sushi in the early evening on Tuesday and a hibachi special on Wednesday. I also am a fan of the sushi rolls here. I would recommend the crap and steak roll. I will go back, but given the fate of most restaurants in Canton, it may not be there when I make it back up that way.

Can't beat their hibachi deal on Wednesdays. Food is consistent and service was good. I would go back on Wednesday because I enjoy hibachi and this place doesn't disappoint.

I have traveled to the Canton area several times and have eaten here often. I'm a big fan of sushi and these folks have never failed to deliver. I enjoy there sushi rolls and the service is great. I would recommend them.
