Love this place so much ! If you go, ask for David . He is my favorite server he is so sweet and ALWAYS takes care of us . The new management is very good too he made me a Margarita and it was the only marg on the rocks I've ever liked ! Try the fajitas too- best thing on the menu ! I love coming here and after a bad experience at a different restaurant I came here once and they took amazing care of me . I love this place !

I've always been treated very well here. The food is high quality and portion sizes are great. The staff is always superb and whenever I am waiting on a take out order, they bring me a drink and chips and salsa. So far my favorites are their Carne Asada or the shrimp cocktail.

I'm from the west coast and I struggled to find a good Mexican food place for a while. I'm so happy I found La Bamba because it's damn good! Enchiladas Santa Fe are so good. Thank you!!

Worst Mexican ever. Salty soup. Dried up limes. Poor service. Should have known as very few cars this Sunday night. New management. Stay clear

Yes, five star, seriously. One of THE best mex restaurants I've been to in a while. Totally beats La Parilla, hands down. Staff is fab, salsa is aMAzing, bar service is super attentive. Owner was very welcoming. They've been here a year, so so so glad to find them! Now, I'm never a fan of mix-based margaritas, but the bartender (Yvonne) said they were wonderful here and I absolutely agree! Half pitcher is a great deal, gets you 3 drinks for the price of 2! Queso fundido was great and super tasty, and best fish tacos I may have ever had!!! The house made chipotle sauce really kicks it up a notch, but the fish is also perfectly done, just phenomenal! Get the frequent flyer card (fivestar) for freebies from them, and plan to eat here often, it's absolutely worth the trip!

I am a fan of La Bamba. Good Mexican food at a reasonable price. The chicken is very good quality and I like the guacamole and margaritas. The service is generally quite good. The lunch specials are available 7 days a week, so you can get a good lunch for $5.99 on weekends (as well as during the week).

I really like this place, and I liked it before the name change too. The food is pretty good I would say a bit better than some of the local competition. Prices are about on par with them also. The restaurant is clean and I have never been when it has been overly crowded. I think the crowding is curbed by the fact that parking is incredibly limited. It's a very cramped parking lot. One concern I had was I saw an employee walking in with a taco bell bag. I mean the bell is right next store but still kinda sends out a red flag. I'll like the occasional taco bell too, who doesn't? If you say you don't you lie! Oh well, dude probably should have waited until he went home to make that stop!

La Bamba is the finest Mexican restaurant in the area. The food is always fresh and the dishes are expertly crafted. The service of the staff is top notch. The place is always maticulously clean. I am amazed such an excellent restaurant even exists in Hickory Flat. My wife & I eat here at least 3 times per week.

Service is very slow and the food was a little cold. Maybe an off night but we won't be back. The LaBamba in Acworth is much better.

Great salsa, margaritas, food and service. It was also reasonably priced. Will come back for sure

The best option for Mexican in the area. Quick food, on par with what we have come to expect based on a majority of mexican joints in the Atlanta area.

Dinner with the husband tonight. He had the #9 combination and it was very good. The stuffed poblano pepper was huge! My Mexican syle tacos were so-so. I ordered two shrimp and one carnita (pork). They were just rather bland, even dressed up with the supplied cilantro, onions, and salsa. Splitting a half pitcher of margaritas was a good idea, thanks earlier posters! The service was the highlight of the meal. Our waitress was most attentive.

Not child friendly. I walked in and there was a guy yelling profanities at the bar who seemed to have too much to drink. The staff sure liked him. They were out of kids menus. A kids drink for a 5 year old is $2.25. I have 5 kids, so paying $7 for a kids meal is too much; kids meals are cheaper at Outback when you include the drink. The salsa has a ton of cilantro which I personally hate. The music was too loud, so we left. Granted it was 10:00 when we arrived after gymnastics practice, but I was very unpleased. I'm happy to pay $20 for a good adult meal, but scamming the children's menu with an over priced drink is a pet peeve of mine. I just moved to the area, and we go out at least once a week and spend over $100 a meal. You lost my business for life.

First time here and was rather impressed. Had the tacos al carbon and wow...so fresh tasting. Had the large special Friday night margarita and there was no skimping on the alcohol. The rest if my group liked the good as well. Will be coming back!

Great food! I came in once and sat at the bar and never received service, but great for take out. The food is fresh and a nice change from the microwaved meals you get at other Mexican restaurants

Tortilla soup is delicious. Steak fajitas are great too! The premium frozen margarita is my favorite!! Love this place!

Great food, friendly staff. Relaxing casual environment! I'm not sure why people say "amazing, love this place" and then give it 4 stars... ;)

This is an update review (first review was in Nov 2012). I am happy to report that the food and service are just as great. I'm tempted to even say the food has improved (they also have an updated menu). The salsa, chips and guacamole are delicious. The chips (and salsa) are kind of addictive, and unlimited, so be careful to save room for your meal and dessert. I recently tried their Mojito and it is hands down the best Mojito I have ever tried! Fresh ingredients. None of that fake syrupy stuff. My husband loves their margaritas. We love eating at La Bambas for the food and friendly service.

La Bamba is one of my locals favs. Service is fast and friendly and the food is pretty great! I really enjoy the chorriquesa and Santa Fe enchiladas. I'm not a huge Mexican food fan but I never turn down La Bamba. I also really like that they serve black beans (a lot of Mexican places don't). Good food for a great price in the Hickory Flat area.

Good Mexican food with above average service, chips and salsa. Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, so its a little hard to find.

Wonderful service and amazing food for reasonable prices. It is my family's new favorite restaurant.

Food is very inconsistent. First times were GREAT, lately take-outs are wrong, cold or both. Haven't eaten inside in a while, but went down hill kinda quick

I was skeptical about going in because the place that was there before was less than good and over priced. I have to say it was an honor to eat the food cooked at La Bamba's it was the best food I have ate in a restaurant in a long time. I will recommend them and I wish my father was still here he would have loved to sit down and eat here.

Went for lunch and had a great experience. The fajitas were tasty and the sides were delicious. The chips and salsa were served promptly and hard to resist. The staff was friendly and service prompt. I will definitely be going back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
