Friendly customer service. Gina is an awesome waitress that kept my drink full. The tour of Italy is much better since you can pick the food. I will easily make two big meals from it.

This location is one of those places that is a hit or miss. You will either get great service and food or you will not. That being said the last time, I visited this location the food was good and the service as well. The only complaint I had was that the salad had little to no dressing. Decent place to eat. I would recommend to try their spicy calamari.

Terrible service. Our server kept asking others to take our table so he could leave early. When he was at our table he was snippy and rude.

Compared to the other location I Yelped about, I really like the atmosphere and service here. There's something about a busy restaurant that's in a nice area with a mall nearby (Mall of Georgia) that sets the tone and vibe for a place. I remember our waiter was pleasantly charming, helpful, and attentive. He was pretty cute too. lol. There's really not much to say about the food, as it was average. I think I just had the buy 1 and take 1 to-go deal (that they had at the time). I do have to say that this location is great with providing you with chocolate mints. I have yet to see other location bring out the mint without you requesting it. (I like those mints okay...) This location is fairly spacious and inviting. I think the next time I want to eat at Olive Garden, perhaps I might just drive to this location versus going to the one in my home time.

I love olive garden. Go by to your nearest olive garden, and take a dive in the world of some extremely level 10 cheesy cheese Alfredo sauce. I decided to try this new deal "never ending pasta bowl" listen to me, unless you have a large stomach, and by large I mean a bottomless pit. The first pasta that comes out is a normal large size plated pasta. Once you finish that, you can get your small bowls of pasta, you know the actual never ending ones. Regardless I'm never let down. And the service is always amazing. Long live pasta, and Alfredo sauce, and all the other fatty stuff.

Love getting the soup and salad when I come here. Also the breadsticks and alfredo sauce are yummy. Its a nice place to have a quiet dinner or lunch. The servers are always friendly. Tonight our server was Mark who was really helpful and friendly!

It was our 15th wedding anniversary and she had one simple request: A meal at one of her favorite restaurants with our children in a quiet celebration of the life we have built together as a family. She didn't want roses, jewelry, a new dress or fanfare... just the most important people in her life. We trust Olive Garden with special moments, and they have rarely ever disappointed. ------------ - - - - - - THE DETAILS Date & Time: Thursday, February 28th, 2013 @ 5:00pm Dining Companions: Wife & children What to expect: Signature Tuscan decor Server: Willie D Liquid: water, kids sodas *ORDERED Stuffed Chicken Marsala (4.5/5 stars) - $16.25 w/garlic potatoes Cheese Ravioli (3.5/5 stars) - $11.50 Kid's Shrimp Alfredo (3/5) - $6.50 Apple Crostata (4.5/5 stars) - $6.50 Fried Calamari (3.5/5) - $8.95 Spicy Shrimp Fritta (2/5) - $8.75 Kid's Peach-Mango Smoothie (4/5) - $1.25 *DISLIKES Cheese ravioli slightly undercooked, Shrimp Fritta flavor just didn't work. The best thing about this place is the consistency... of service and food and wait. The food is better than Provino's but nothing to write home about, and it's overpriced IMO. The service is usually good but the wait for a table is generally ridiculously long and they don't take reservations or offer call-ahead service. Kids like it. Those with a more developed palate should go to a real Italian restaurant.

My husband and I went in there for our Friday night date night, there was a 10 minute wait so we sat at the bar since we had a movie to catch. We were greeted nicely, we didn't get drinks because I am pregnant and he didn't have his ID and we were still checked on and waited on perfectly. I got extra lemons and he gave them to me a couple minutes before my food got there. I didn't have to remind him. The food was excellent. I had salmon and my husband had some kind of stuffed chicken Marsala. We loved everything. We will be back. Maybe make this a permanent Friday night date place!

It's Olive Garden. Nothing else to it. Fast food pre-packed pasta. Lol. I came here with my family bc they like it. It's good I suppose if ur craving fast food pasta. The salad and breadsticks are usually yummy. The service was friendly. I always appreciate that.

It feels like only yesterday when I was living on Guam and watched the Olive Garden commercials on TV when we didn't even HAVE a Olive Garden there! My siblings and I would sit, drool, and yell at the TV because it just wasn't fair to torture us like that. The pastas, breadsticks, and salad all looked SO gooood on TV - and I was pleasantly surprised that they tasted as good as they looked! Now that it's been almost 10 years since I moved from Guam to the States (WOW), I can't believe I still haven't written a review for an Olive Garden! Anyway, this particular Olive Garden is located between a McDonald's and a Red Lobster close to the Mall of Georgia, and it's the closest one to my house. Over the years, the service here has had its ups and downs. However, my most recent visit was probably one of the best! Our family of six arrived at the restaurant around 8 pm on a Friday night, and we saw that there were a bunch of people waiting outside for a table. Fortunately, a group inside must have just been seated because we got to sit and wait inside! We were given a buzzer and waited about 20 minutes for a table, which wasn't bad at all! I already knew what I wanted to order - one of my two favorite pastas, the Seafood Alfredo. Depending on my mood, I get either that or the Chicken Alfredo, and I rarely deviate from those. My sister, Yoomee H., and I decided to share the Seafood Alfredo. When we informed our server that we were going to share the entree, she asked if we wanted to split it. I know that some restaurants charge a "sharing/splitting fee," so I asked if we would be charged for this. She told us that they do not charge such a fee, which is nice! My sister wanted the unlimited Garden-Fresh Salad, and I asked for the unlimited soup for an additional charge. I started with my favorite soup - the Zuppa Toscana. Although I usually don't order wine here, I recalled trying one of their Moscatos in the past and thought it might be a nice complement to my meal. I ordered a glass of the Primo Amore, Italy Moscato (6 oz., $5.95), and my sister decided to try it out as well. It was served chilled, and it perfectly sweet and delicious! We loved it! I also love that the servers are usually quick to bring out the salads, soups, and breadsticks so you don't have to sit there and twiddle your thumbs while you wait for the entrees! The breadsticks were fresh, warm, and as yummy as usual. * Zuppa Toscana - Per the menu description, this soup is made up of "Spicy sausage, russet potatoes, and cavolo greens in a creamy broth." I love sausage and potatoes, and this soup combines the two ingredients beautifully with the cavolo greens and broth. The "spicy" sausage isn't really spicy, but the soup has such a great, unique flavor. I highly recommend it! =) * Seafood Alfredo (Dinner, $15.50) - As previously mentioned, my sister and I got this entree split in half, and they served it to us in two separate plates. My brother and younger sister also ordered the Seafood Alfredo to share but opted not to have it "split" because they thought that there would be less pasta if they split it in the kitchen. Boy, were they wrong! And they were jealous because my sister and I got pretty generous "half" portions of the Seafood Alfredo! There was a good amount of sauteed shrimp and scallops in each half portion. However, I noticed that my half was pretty dry because there wasn't much alfredo sauce in it and was disappointed as I briefly considered to just eat it as it was. However, I changed my mind and mentioned this to our server. When I asked if I could get a little more sauce, she told me it would be no problem and quickly brought me a warm little bowl of alfredo sauce. It made my pasta dish SO much better! Overall, this Olive Garden gets 4 stars for their good pastas, salad, breadsticks, and service. I would consider 4.5 or maybe even 5 stars if the quality of their food and service was more consistent. However, since the pastas aren't always great (every now and then, they serve me a "dry" alfredo pasta, and I have to ask for more sauce) and their service has occasionally been bad (unfriendly servers, slow service), I can't give more than 4 stars. I always appreciate the complimentary Andes mint chocolates that they bring with the check at the end of the meal, and I will definitely return to this Olive Garden as long as I am in the area. I come here when I want to pretend that I am a healthy eater! If I could marry Olive Garden's salad, I would be the happiest (& by "happiest" I clearly mean "weirdest") person on the face of this planet!! I come. I sit. & when they ask "Soup or Salad?" I hold up my fork and knife and say "Salad pleasssssee!" And then I proceed to eat the salad the ENTIRE time I'm there. I literally do not touch my entree until the second I'm sliding it off my plate into my to-go box. That salad dressing is my life! & now that you understand this about me. We can move on and take our relationship to the next level (you will always be second though!) The breadsticks are good too. BUT (tip alert!) if you come during lunch time, that's when you will receive the most garlicky-soft-warm-fingerlickin' golden breadsticks this Olive Garden has to offer. I guess it gets crowded during dinner hours & they don't take the time to slather that 70-calorie bready goodness appropriately. Note: I just shared my secret with you all because I love you (& by "love" I mean that I feel guilty for saying that you were second.) I love the new menu additions. Especially the crispy risotto bites! So good! I'm vegetarian & I love that they have a good handful of veggie-friendly appetizers. But these risotto bites are the bomb! Try them out! Even my meat devouring brother seemed to like them. They are crispy on the outside and gooey & cheesy on the inside. & they are only $4!! From the "Cusina Mia" selection: I don't love the spicy marinara. I thought I would since I love all things spicy and can tolerate heat very well. But it had a weird sweet-like after taste. I usually get the eggplant parm, the five cheese ziti or the portobello mushroom ravioli. All three of them are great. Sometimes (if I'm feeling like a glutton) I replace the spaghetti that comes with the eggplant for Alfredo pasta. You get to mix the sauces that way. Very good! Very high in calories! You've been warned. The ravioli dish comes with EXACTLY 7 pieces. No joke. But it's good & it's light. For those who do not eat pork: beware of any & all meat sauces! They all (if I remember correctly) have pork in them! There is a tiny small print on the bottom of the menu that informs you of what the meat sauce consists of. This was a bummer for me during the time I ate meat (because I didn't & have never eaten pork). I go to this Olive Garden location frequently as it is down the street from my house. The staff are always very nice & the place is very clean. There is a heavy crowd on Sundays. I wouldn't consider the price to be extremely cheap or high. It's a nice restaurant and the price fits the atmosphere. 4 stars! I deducted a star for inconsistency & for sneaking pork in dishes. But I'm probably being too stern! Thinking about dining here? Go for it & happy eating!

I went out to lunch with my parents, and they both decided to eat at the Olive Garden by the mall. I was expecting typical chain restaurant food, but was I wrong! The moment I walked in, I was taken away by the interior and decorations! Definitely unorthodox compared to other restaurants along the mall. We were seated at a booth, and a waitress came about 3 minutes later. She was very nice and sweet despite having about 5 other tables. I opted for calamari (spicy), cheese ravioli with mushroom alfredo sauce, and unlimited salad and breadsticks of course! Salad and breadsticks came first. I was a bit underwhelmed by the salad...it was just an iceberg lettuce-based salad topped off with two olives, two slices of tomato, two peperoncini, croutons, and ribbons of red onions. However, the Italian dressing it came with was great! Then, the calamari my parents and I ordered as an appetizer arrived, piping hot and fresh from the fryer. There was also a side of tomato sauce and some cheese sauce. It was SO GOOD. The breading was perfectly seasoned, and there were some jalapeno peppers fried in the same batter and served. But as yummy as it was, I wished there was more calamari (for the price). There were probably about 8 pieces of calamari, some very small. Next, the entrees were served, and let me tell you. If you haven't tried Olive Garden's cheese ravioli with mushroom sauce...please go do so. Now. It was very rich, and I couldn't finish 3/4 of it! Probably because my stomach was filled with salad and breadsticks, but still. I loved every morsel I had, but I had to save room for dessert! The chocolate mousse cake was delicious, decadent, and delightful. Again, I couldn't finish it. Overall, I had an excellent meal here with great service and awesome food. I will definitely return to this location! And now? A long, long workout so I can burn off the many calories I took in during my trip to Olive Garden today.

We did the never ending pasta bowel. We tried three of the sauces and they were good. We also had the pumpkin cheesecake and raspberry cheesecake. The only Bad part was it was a 1.5 hour lunch. Service was slow and waitress was not friendly.

I really hate to say this... But there were only two things that were "ok". 1.Salad 2.Service It's a little hard to go wrong on the salad... And while I thought the same for the bread here, it's clear to me now that it isn't. It came out really hot and soft.. Within 2/3 minutes it was hard like a rock. This tells me it could have been microwaved? It was a huge turn off. Ordered Calamari and usually that's good..well they were all bunched up together where you had to cut them with a knife... Ordered pasta carbonara... And for $17 I expected more. It was a small yet INCREDIBLY greasy portion. I could just smell the acid reflux I was about to have. We were seated promptly and had a very nice waitress, I believe called Mirena? She is Russian. I'm tired of typing But I have to say I probably wouldn't return...

Going to OG is always good for a quick "pasta fix" at a decent price ... but please ... stop seating me in the crying baby section! I'm over it, really I am. When my kids were younger, we made them behave, or took them out of the restaurant. Why should my meal be ruined by three crying babies and one shrieking toddler (who also threw food) ... and then the manageent looks at me irritatedly when I rquested another table away from the cacophany. Really folks, if your children can't behave and be quiet ... take them to McDonalds and dump them in the play ground. You can come back to nice restaurants when they learn to behave, or when you parents start making them behave. In this day of fewer discretionary dollars ... don't make me regret coming to your restaurant. Ask the people with babies to keep them quiet ... or leave. If you had that policy ... I'd be there three times as often!

I haven't eaten in an Olive Garden in so many years cause of poor service and terrible food. However, I went this time to for my SIL's birthday bash since it's her fave restaurant. I had to cringe at the thought of the untasteful food. I was told that the MOG location was one of the "better" Olive Gardens. My coworker calls Olive Garden, the "redneck Italian food," lol. There were four of us. Everyone got the unlimited pasta while I decided to just get the grill chicken Caesar salad. The waitress put soooo much shredded cheese in mine. I didn't want that much. The salad was okay. It was mainly tasteless for me. I couldn't finish the rest. The unlimited pasta comes with unlimited salad too. They got 2, even 3 refills of the pasta. They were able to switch it up with different type of flavor. I do love pasta and cheese but did not want so much of it so I opted out on that choice. I'm glad too! We also ordered the Italian donut with chocolate dip. It was not bad, I didn't love it. The waitress is a really cute Latina girl and interacted with my nephew, my SIL's one year old. I know she was busy and seemed a bit irritated with our many request (not mine, lol) but I think she tried her best to play it cool.

I have been going to this particular restaurant for the past 6 months, at least 2 - 3 times a month (hubby travels A LOT) and the food has gone down hill. I have gotten labels in my food (Use by date labels) which makes me really wonder if it is actually MADE TO ORDER. After receiving the meal it looks as if it has been sitting under a heat lamp (dry and slightly warm). They have been over cooking breaded meals (burnt or overly cook). Their desserts have been slightly frozen. I am not one to return my meal (except the one with the label in it) but it seems as if I will be returning food more often. They need to get rid of the table (4 person round table) that sets in front of kitchen entrance. Too much traffic, people bumping chairs, too loud.

Please take my word for it, this place has hit rock bottom. The waiter just tossed our water on the table and he had ZERO class about himself. The food was terrible (I ordered the Steak Gorgonzola-Alfredo). The breadsticks didn't even taste right. Get back on 85 and go down to either Ippolito's or Carrabbas. Those are 5 star restaurants compared to this place.

  • Yoomee H.

This place isn't worth it! Know why? Because the service is horrible! The waiters and waitresses (most of them) would stare at me, then ignore my family and me, if we wanted to order something else or get a refill of our soups. One of our waitresses were too busy talking to the people at the other table and totally ignored my family and me! I felt so angry!! The food is meh, because it's so commercialized.. if you know what I mean! MIRKO PASTA IS SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS PLACE!!!! The staff members at Olive Garden are BAAAAAAAD!!! And it feels as if they are RUSHING you to eat faster and get out of there as soon as possible!! I'll only go there for the unlimited soups and salad! But that's about it.. the pasta is meh and the bread sticks are bleh (they're too buttery and salty).

My husband and I went here when they had a deal of 2 for $25 on a three course meal. You can't beat that! Because there were a lot of people that night, they served a variety of wines for 50 cents a glass which was cool. I loved the food (Italian). They serve generously well. And service was fast. My favorite (as always) was the dessert which was their chocolate mousse. Will definitely go back.

Having followed the Olive Garden since its inception, I often enjoyed the unique atmosphere, the homey laid back dining, the friendly and knowledgeable staff, the precise service, and the fresh, authentic, and diverse menu; that all ended with last nights dinner at this Buford location! To say Olive Garden has become a common run-of-the-mill chain quality food provider with a get-the-dining customer-out-the-door-fast-so-we-can-process-more-customers-and-make-our-chain store quota $$$$$ attitude is an understatement; at least for this location! I have NEVER felt so rushed and unappreciated in my life during a dining experience at an Olive Garden, nor have I experienced such poor quality processed foods from an Olive Garden! To start, it was an early Friday evening as we drove up, parked, and proceeded to enter the building; waiting crowd aside, our initial host did great us when we arrived and put our name on the waiting list, but her attitude was less than accommodating or even remotely friendly; she never bothered to answer for a wait time as well. After about 15-20 minutes, the lighted, vibrating signal device went off, and our seating host met us with an even less accommodating stance; with an initial scowl, no welcome to Olive Garden recourse, or even a smile, she exuded a mechanical, fast paced follow me persona to our assigned seat. The dining area was incredibly loud and harried as we waited for our server to arrive at our table; upon arrival, it was clearly evident that our server was overstressed as she VERY QUICKLY initiated the Wine-of-the-day offering and specially overpriced other drink offerings with a wide eyed, gotta-run, nervous stance; we barely gave her our drink order and she was off with a flash! An extended wait later, she returned with our drinks and took our order. The appetizer arrived in an orderly fashion and was quickly followed by our server placing the salad and bread sticks on the table; the bread sticks (three sticks offered for two people) where dense, stale, and without any flavor (these are definitely NOT the bread sticks of Olive Garden's past) and I would have opted for the soup over salad (the salad was OK but again not what it used to be; I do believe they changed the dressing for a lesser quality) but our server never gave me the chance to say as such when she RUSHED off to place our order. Drinks emptied and appetizer barely finished, our entrees arrived by another server just as we where starting to eat the salad; proper dining etiquette erased even more by the fast paced eat and leave atmosphere, my fiance' and mines entrees hardly passed for consumption; the meals where worthy of highly processed, microwave and serve fair and cannot stand up for the prices asked of them! The pastas where low quality, tasteless, and clearly overcooked; the sauces where bland and greasy (huge pool of grease at bottom of my, " Chianti Three Meat sauce" and my fiance's, "Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara"; the wondermeat meatballs I waited on for my meal (our server forgot them upon ordering) came out when I was nearly finished; the shrimp in the Carbonara meal was rubbery, and old tasting, and the, "Grilled Chicken" consisted of the processed chicken meat bits and pieces variety found in many low quality TV dinners! With our meal designated as Over by the poor quality food and the final onslaught of our server bringing us a single drink refill during the whole meal, we dared ask for a to go box and to order two deserts to go as well. Of course our overstressed server whisked away without ever really listening to our directions and proceeded to bring the deserts for on premise consumption. Waiting for the bill and our to go boxes (again we waited unnecessarily long for our server to come back), I noticed other diners expressing the same emotions of dissatisfaction at this Olive Garden location. The atmosphere was overly rushed and unpleasant and I saw others meals hardly consumed for sake of what I deemed to be the processed, microwaved and served foods reality. Food quality of Olive Garden has definitely been lowered and comically reminds me of a movie where a high flaunting restaurant's kitchen chefs open frozen dinner entrees, microwave them, arrange on fancy plates and serve to the scrupled crowd. The mechanical management service at this location leaves a lot to be desired and as such I no longer care to return.

I agree that the service could improve at this location. One positive is that they are now allowing you to eat healthier with less calories. They now allow you to order a low cal dressing and plainnbreadsticks. The garlic/butter tastes great, but adds a lot of unnecessary calories. In addition they now can provide you With a nutritional chart and also a gluten free menu. This was a prudent change and I respect them for the effort.

Bobby & I went here for lunch a couple of days ago and I was pleasantly surprised. With the food that is. The service on the other hand was a whole different kind of animal. We walked in and there weren't many customers inside so we thought we got lucky since this location is usually packed. We sat at a table by the bar thinking it would be faster but we were wrong. I didn't mind the wait so much once our salad & breadsticks arrived though. So delicious! Yum. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo & Bobby had the braised beef and tortellini. Both were really good. Portion size was perfect as well. After we ate we had to wait around about 20-30 minutes for our waitress to find us again but by that point our tummies were full so it didn't matter too much. Anyway, I will definitely be going back...in fact I'm having Olive Garden for dinner tonight :) So go try a taste of Italy for yourselves! Oh ps. I was navigating their website earlier & they have some awesome recipes on there for their dishes, drinks, pizzas etc. and cooking videos. Just an awesome thing I thought all my fellow Yelpers would want to know about!

Now, I went for lunch as soon as they opened on a weekday so the service and all was amazing but I can see that during suppertime it could be a madhouse here especially where it is located. You just can't beat the all you can eat soup, salad, and breadsticks. This is always the perfect lunch which, as long you you stick to one bowl of soup and don't have an appetizer, won't having you rolling out the door, full to the gills. Our server was right on top of things. He even asked at one point if he was paying us too much attention. We never lacked a full glass of tea nor any of the food. I do love that they always bring at least 2 breadsticks per person, I loathe the odd number for an even number of people, but I would like to see more soup choices on the menu as Olive Garden makes such wonderful soups. The place was super clean, even noticing that they clean under the bench seats every night as was obvious from some of the benches still being tipped over from cleaning from the night before. The atmosphere is also great like being in an Italian garden of sorts.

So it IS Olive Garden. I'm assuming that you've drawn to an OG before to experience true Italiana, which apparently means, free bread sticks, soups and salads. (Note to self: When traveling to italy, bring tupperware). So every OG is the same or is it? This location is always packed the service staff turns over frequently so there is little consistency in service. Last time I ate there, our waiter hit on my wife with my son and myself there..... but I still tipped him close to 20%... he's a kid, .... The food here is always watered down... even for OG food. I'm rarely happy with anything at this location, except its proximity to the Mall. I miss the days where the Lasagna was a staple on this menu and it was at least better than popping the stoufer's lasagna in the microwave. Newsflash to OG, I ate Sam's Choice lasagna the other night and it was 10 times better. In my last few trips, they removed the spinach filled pasta with meat sauce which was the lone item on the menu I enjoyed, the chicken parmigiana came out "toasty" and the "tour of italy" was more like the tour de dumpste' (as in the food looked like... well you get the picture). On the bright side, we got three meals out of our visit because of the large portion. Something draws us into OG, not sure what it is, all the food can be purchased at Walmart at better prices and quality, but we will continue to go to this location. I guess at the end of the day, maybe it is the true Italiana atmosphere that they do get right.... go figure.

This Olive Garden is usually packed (it is right by the mall). But...when we went there with 10 people our service was great (yet it did take an hour to get a table, not good with a 4 year old and a 2 month old). The Spinach and Artichoke Dip was great. Breadsticks have changed lately, not so good. The Berry Sangria is WONDERFUL. All in all a good dinner.

I know that this is the OG and it's not that great for Italian food but, it's not too bad either. This location is right across from the Mall of Georgia. Drawing points for the Olive Garden are the bread sticks and the salad. I had stuffed chicken Marsala. It was really good. I prefer Bibi's (check my yelp review) or Carrabas.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
