I have been in some dives, this is definitely not a dive. It isn't Ray's on the River either. But I can't really afford to go there, except on very special occasions. This is a good place for decent food and good reasonably priced drinks.

Not a bad place to grab a drink. I wouldn't necessarily classify this as a dive bar as there's far too much light and I've had worst smoke in my hair. But it's clean, sort of spacious, and the DJ's just okay. Burger was pretty good; no complaints. I'd come here for a drink anytime and a late night snack.

Haven't been been a in a while. Pam was a Good bartender and server. But the knats and flying bugs were such a turn off. I probably are one unknowingly. Won't be eating here but my friend likes the poker. So play poker but don't eat.

Nasty, heavy cigarette smoke, sat down and waited, but no one ever came to wait on us so we got up and left. we weren't in there 10 minutes and we smell like cigarettes for hours. So gross.

This is not a fancy spot. At all. Wanna come wind down and grab a drink or 2 or 3? Here ya go. Drinks and pool? They got it here. Catch a game and have dinner? OK, you're covered. This is not a popular hot spot or anything like that. Just a little joint out in Cobb. The only downside of this place is the smoke. But then again, you're at a bar/grill, so whaddya expect? I dealt with it for a little under an hour. I probably wouldn't return because of this, but overall, it wasn't crowded, so it wasn't smoked out just yet. I forgot the name of the burger, but it was so big, I needed a fork just to get through it. It was tasty with barbecue sauce, onion rings, and bacon on it. The lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles were held off to the side. The tater tots were great, but how can you mess those up? =) Yeah, the food was great. Pool was fun. The smoke was a no-go, but it was a fun atmosphere.

You know . . . I'm a little conflicted about this place. There are definitely 'regulars' that are treated very well. But the few times I've been here - I was amazed at how aggressive I had to be to simply get the bartender's attention so that I could place my order. But once I got his attention - he was very friendly and cordial. It was very odd and it's happened the exact same way on each subsequent visit. Like the other reviewer said - it's very smokey. I actually met a client here during my first visit - and I was so blown away by my burger, that I actually went back for a take-out order. Sad to report that they messed up my order. In fact - each time I've visited since then - they messed up my original order . . . and my order has consistently been a cheddar cheeseburger with fries. Lol. Seriously. So why 3 stars instead of 1 or 2? I honestly don't know. Maybe it's the memory of that first burger. Or maybe it's simply the fact that I can appreciate a good 'dive.' If you're a smoker and if you like pool - it's a great place to go. I've heard from other patrons that the nightly specials are well-prepared and well-priced. Oh - and they have trivia nights. They also have $5 Burgers on Monday and the Buy 10 / Get 10 Free Wing special every Wednesday. This past wednesday they also had shrimp and grits on the menu for $8.95. And as anothe reviewer noted - they have great pours. Very generous with the libations. Any way . . . For now I'm gonna keep them on my list of places to get a greasy burger when I'm in the mood - and I'm going to try the dinner special the next time I'm there. I'll let you know how it goes!!!

Good pours great service. This is a dive bar full of smoke but the food is good drink is better and cheap. I can easily leave out under $40.00 . Yeah unfortunately that's good for me.

yes, I am writing ANOTHER update. I don't know how this place isn't more popular, honestly. if it were in atlanta it would be huge. the lemon pepper chipotle shrimp salad is probably the tastiest thing I've ever put in my mouth. Excluding one particular server, the staff rules really hard...probably my (second) favorite place on earth.

The first time I visited The Sports Grill I was instantly reminded of a Star Wars quote by Obi Wan describing the famous bar where Han Solo is first introduced--"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious." Though, it has been renovated since, it still attracts the same crowd. The regulars that frequent this place consist of servers from adjacent restaurants, hideous women, and thugs sporting gold 'grills'. As a sports bar, it falls way short. The televisions are outdated, it's 2013 get rid of the 1990's projector big screens and the laughable televisions that surround the bar. Call me a snob, I'm not going to a sports bar to watch a game that doesn't have HD and flat screens made in the last decade, period. The food is par for the course, considering it's a sports bar. The spirit selection is about what you'd imagine, nothing too quality. The beer selection is what it should be. Also, I am a bar tender and have worked in the food service industry for years. I have a loathing for places that charge twice for a double, which is a complete scam. I ordered a double scotch on the rocks, neat and paid almost $20. It isn't literally a double, he just pours extra--which I witnessed myself-- so why am I paying for two regulars? Asking this question to the bar tender was like reenacting "Who's on First?"--after several laps around stupidville I gave up and just paid the $20. The only reason I can think of to go to this place instead of the Chili's across the street to have a drink, is that if you want to smoke. Then, the Sports Grill is the place.

Would not recommend. The waitress was very rude. It's not posted anywhere that everyone is ID. I understand because it is a Grill that you must be 18. I don't understand that after going there at least once a week for the last year all of a sudden you must be ID or you have to leave and I am well over 18. The service or food isn't as good as it use to be. We always go just because it's close. Not going back anymore.

This place is a dive and a half. If it was just a dive, I would have given three stars... The menu is plain Jane bar food and nothing to write home about. We got the wings and we've had better at Varner's and other local places. The TV's are super old and their are some pool tables crammed in the smoking section but a little awkward to play I should think. No jukebox, a major downside for me. This is obviously a regular's bar since most of the people knew the server / bartender. The staff was nice to us, but you could tell they weren't interested in really making us feel welcome. All in all, you can go to a little better place for the same food / prices. Would not recommend. Probably won't go back.

This would be my regular spot. I am usually there every night after work. Being that it is the only bar that allows smoking in the area. I love the food and the drinks. Unique food items like there amazing Georgia Peach Burger and Bacon, Egg, and Cheeseburgers. You will normally see the same employees which makes it very friendly and welcoming. All of the customers are normally friendly. You can keep yourself entertained with Keno, Pool Tables and different types of bar games like the MegaTouch and Putt Putt arcade style games. My favorite is trivia on Wednesday and Thursdays. I recommend Margita Mondays. They serve Margaritas for under $4 Guiness on draft is always a plus. I will warn you that you must be 18 to enter and Friday and Saturday nights can become a little wild. Just have fun.

We ate here a couple weekends ago. I was ready to leave when I smelled cigarette smoke, but I'm glad we stayed. The sweet potato fries were good and the lemon pepper wings were very tasty. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I probably won't eat in again because the smoke is overwhelming, but I will definitely be back for takeout for the lemon pepper wings.
