Do yourself a favor and eat here. The mac and cheese is absolutely amazing. On special occasions they serve t-bone steaks that are absolutely perfect, and I was lucky enough to have it the first time I ate here. They will make the fried chicken fresh when you order it, but it's worth the wait. They obviously care about the quality of their food.

This place is definitely overrated. I ordered the cubed steak, which had a weird taste to it, blackeyed peas which were gross and had okra in it to top it off, and of all things the mac and cheese was gross as well. The only thing that was decent on my plate was the greens and corn bread muffins. The Caucasian lady was rude and not compensating at all. I will never come here again and the only reason why I came here in the first place was because Annie Mae's was closed, I needed my soulfood fix and all of the send off reviews that were given. A waste of my money.

Granny's in Austell is a great spot for hot, fresh, and delicious homemade soul food! The place is off the beat and path but worth the effort to discover. There's ample parking right in front, there are never really long lines and they get you in and out nice and fast. There aren't a smorgasbord of choices but everything they serve is very good and tastes as if granny is actually back there in the kitchen with hairnet and apron cooking up a storm but the actual chef is a guy and he's not shy about commenting that everything is homemade and "fresh". It's not just fresh, the food looks good, smells good, is well seasoned and they serve generous portions from the meat selections to the sides. My favorites are the ribs, squash and candied yams - all succulent and yummmmy! Your taste buds will dance with joy. Each meal is topped off with a delicious corn muffin (ask them not to put the muffin on top of the cabbage or collards unless you like your corn muffin soggy and soaked with vegetable juices). Their desserts are really good too. I've tried the caramel cake, red velvet cake and the sweet potato pie. I recommend them all. Each time I've gone, I met a different member of the staff (4 so far) and they all have been really pleasant and quite friendly. Other patrons in the small dining area have also been cordial, everyone greeting each other with a nod or a smile as they enjoy their meals. The only problem I have with Granny's is they don't sell large or family sized dishes for a large group or family. You can only purchase 2 sides of any one item per person - they says the rule is to prevent one customer from buying up all of one thing to the neglect of their other patrons. Nice gesture but I say, First come, first served and others will just have to wait for Granny to cook up another fresh batch of wonderfuness. IJS!

Was acceptable if you are throwing caution to the wind. Very unhealthy deep fried and covered with butter type options. Food tastes pretty good but it was just so over the top bad for you. I was in a food coma for hours just needed to sleep.

Pretty good! Quick, fresh, ready, flavorful. Cornbread was a little dry but the stuffing was glorious. Turkey wings were tender and tasty and enough gravy for my rice! I went a little late in the afternoon so the baked chicken was sold out. Pretty good soul food, I will be back to try out the other menu items!! Thanks Granny :)

Small down home cooking place. Reminds me of good family meals. The food is good and the service was a delight.
