HUGE props to this location. We have been here a handful of times before and always had good service. The food, of course, is your run of the mill Olive Garden. But my husband and I went tonight to take advantage of the free Veteran's Day entree. Not only were they generous enough to give us free entrees, but at the end of the meal they also gave us TWO $10 gift cards (since we are both service members)!!! The generosity we saw today makes this location deserving of a 5 star rating.

I was a fan of Olive Garden before I moved to Augusta, but this place really made me question my loyalty to this chain. I only come to this place when I'm hanging out with a family who has some kind of coupon they'd like to take advantage of here. Like many of the reviewers said, this place is difficult to give a rating. That family seems to be a fan of this place though, not me. Our mutual friend, who also comes to those dinners had to send back her dishes at least once each time we were here. Somehow the dishes that she ordered were always undercooked. I'm pretty sure the server had also knocked down my friend's purse from the back of her chair. They are very generous with their breadsticks though, which is a good thing for my friend's family who like to stick to a low budget whenever possible.

My mother and I went to lunch. We were seated and had to wait 10 minutes before they got our drink order. Our salads came with no breadsticks. The waitress did not give us an explanation until I ask. When I asked, she got defensive and said that they are in the oven baking and would take a few minutes. Waited another 10 more minutes and got our breadsticks. By then I was finished with my salad. In 5 minutes our lunch came out and my mom asked for some breadsticks and the waitress gave her a dirty look. I got the Raviloli de Portebello and it was kind of cold. Our server was prompt refilling our drinks, however, the whole experience was just uncomfortable and unsatisfied. Another chain restaurant I don't like going to, but go because my mom likes it here so much. I wouldn't come back alone or with friends.

Food was just ok. Soup and salad was better than my dry ass seafood Alfredo with hardly any shrimp. The waiter had a long day or so his face, conversation and body language said. He didn't ask if I wanted soup or salad just brought salad (with half ripe green tomatoes) and told me I couldn't change my choice once I got the salad. I said ok that would be fine IF YOU EVER ASKED ME WHICH ONE I WANTED. He looked at his notepad and saw he didn't write an option down for me, didn't apologize just brought me my soup. Stupid head. Anyway, the ambiance was ok, food was ok (bread was hard as bricks after 5 mins), service was mediocre and it's almost at the edge of the "strip" of restaurants so they need to be happy we needed a walk and actually walked all the way down the road for them because we passed 18 restaurants that would have pleased us just as fine on the way there.

Jordan G was probably the best service we've ever had at this location. He knew how to talk to us and joke around, while still knowing how to make my kids happy. Very attentive, good personality and quick on his feet. My favorite part is he came back to the table after I asked for lemons, and right out admitted he forgot what I asked for (he was pretty busy). I admired that he could admit his mistake. We had a quick laugh about it, then he ran immediately and got them. I will definitely ask for him next time. Thanks Jordan!! :)

So, I don't know why this place gets bad reviews. The waiters here were really attentive and the food came out very quick. The only downside was that we kept getting over cooked breadsticks that were kind of hard but the waitress explained to us that the kitchen was busy today. She was on point with everything. The food here was the same as any other Olive Garden I've been to.

Regarding the food, it's fine and predictable. I find the salad and breadsticks to be tastier and more flavorful than the entrees. I typically get the eggplant parmesan, which I recommend. I haven't eaten at an Olive Garden in a while, so the iPad-like tablets on the tables were new for me. I didn't like that feature at all, and I don't think it fits with the family vibe they promote on their commercials. You can pay $1.99 to play unlimited games on the tablet (because you seriously couldn't have thrown that in for free, Olive Garden??). And, if you're paying with a card you have to use the tablet to pay. So I had to deduct a star because this was very off-putting to me. The best part was the excellent service by our waiter, Jamarco. I appreciated how he joked with us about the silly tablet and took great care of us even on a busy Saturday night!

NEVER AGAIN. The service was terrible. It took over an hour to have a quick lunch and some of the food was cold when it got to us. I ordered a specialty iced tea, but cancelled it after it took twenty minutes and I still had no tea. She also left the tea on the bill and the whole checking out process took FOREVER because of this and the fact that she was just slow as hell. No tips were given! The food was also really terrible. I mean I really don't expect much from most chain restaurants, but this place has gone downhill. The salad, which took over twenty minutes to get to us, was laden with msg so much so that my mouth went a bit numb while eating it. The breadsticks were cold and chewy. Also got a sampler and the calamari was super tough. I also got the meatball breadstick sandwich that took forever to get to us, about 40 minutes, and it was kinda cold. I'm guessing it was sitting in the window a while. The meatballs from the grocery store freezer section taste gourmet compared to this load of crap. I only went here because I had a gift certificate, but in the future I'm just going to give it someone else or try to ensure I don't get the gift cards to here in the first place. Basically, don't eat at any Darden restaurants unless you want terrible food and loads of salt, msg, and God only knows what else added to your food!

Sabra was an excellent server. My coworker and I stopped by for a quick lunch, bottomless soup and salad. Really not a bad deal for bottomless. Same signature salad. We both got Minestrone soup. Nothing fantastic, but not bad either. The best part...the Andes mints of course!

Amazing how a couple of years can make. What was one of my favorites has turned into another average Augusta restaurant, which does not say much. Go to OG for pasta, soup, salad, chicken. Forget trying any meal over 13.99, or you will be disappointed. Steak is served well done, fish is bland. Service was 4-5 stars is now 2-3. OG has cut cost everywhere so don't expect too much. OG is now compatible to Chilis.

We just stopped in for a quick unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks lunch on a business trip. Very quick service and our waitress Sabra gave us extra mint chocolates when we paid. Only negative was that our 2nd salad had a bit too much dressing on it. Otherwise a quick and easy stop.

Went here around Jan. 2014. Wow. Order a pizza or entree and you get unlimited salads and soup refills! For a chain, this food is actually tasty and good. The pizza was thin crust and toppings of pepperoni was tasty. The calamari was fried perfectly so they were tender. I'm just not a fan of iceberg lettuce. I wish they had an option to request a fresh green nutritional salad. The price is really good... the 3 of us for lunch was under $40 with tip.

For the first time ever I was completely disappointed with the food at Olive Garden. I just moved to the area from Texas and I have ALWAYS loved eating at Olive Garden, but now I dont think I will be returning any time soon. Our waitress was great and really helped out. We ordered drinks and an appetizer and that was all great. Then my plate arrived, i ordered Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara and my entree looked extremely plain and had no chicken at all. So I informed the waitress and she went to get some chicken for me to add to my entree.of course by the time she returned the rest of my entree was already some what cold. Well I take the first bite and there was no flavor at all to it. A can of sauce from a grocery store has more flavor than my entree had. I did inform my waitress again and she was wonderful enough to replace my entree for me. I ended up having just soup and salad. As much as the soup and salad were great, my main entree was not. If it werent for our waitress being great I wouldnt give any stars at all.

If you are looking for food that tastes like nothing and terrible service, I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. I waited 15 minutes to get a to-go cup of tea for the waiter to bring the wrong tea. He proceeded to tell me he was going to get me the correct tea twice and then he never brought it.

I ordered take out & the process was very easy. You go to the bar & tell whomever that you placed an online Togo order & a Togo specialist will come help you. My Togo specialist gave great service! She was very nice & took everything out the bag making sure my order was correct & I received everything I needed. The other workers I encountered greeted me & were polite, but had no emotion. Overall, the food was fantastic! The Alfredo here is amazing, so are the unlimited salad & breadsticks (which is only for dine in).

I had catering from this restaurant. Tried chicken alfredo, lasagna, salad, and breadsticks. Everything was bland, tasteless, breadsticks and meat from frozen, sauce from a can, etc. Do people actually think this is Italian food?

I had one of my best experiences at an Olive Garden while I was in town over the weekend. I went there early on a Saturday morning and the our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some great recommendations. The manager also assisted in making the experience a great one. Good food... great service... give them a chance if your in the area!

What can you say, it's Olive Garden. Good food, good service, good value. When you have that hunger for pasta, salad, soup, and bread, swing on by and enjoy.

I will mirror what someone else said on here. I don't really know how to rate this place. Reason being, I ordered chicken Alfredo and the noodles were under done and very hard. The Alfredo sauce was clumpy and it had a weird consistency. It was just bad. But on the flip side. My wife ordered Shrimp Mezzoluna, and she couldn't stop going on and on about it. Our waiter was a little on the rude side and was not very attentive. When our food came out we had to ask for silverware, and on several occasions we had to find a different waiter/waitresses in order to get our drinks refilled. If you're stuck on getting Italian, drive about a mile down Washington and go to Carrabba's. It might be a little more expensive, but IMHO it's heads above the service and food that your going to get here, and it will be worth your money.

Our dinner experience on veterans day was great. Our server, Dana, was delightful despite the obvious crush of patrons that the restaurant had that night. She was engaging and pleasant which made us quickly forget our hour wait for our table. She was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and her recommendations were spot on. I will definitely return to this Olive Garden, hopefully on a less crowded night.

This is a hard place to give a rating to... It's not bad, and it's not good either, but when you go to Olive Garden, you don't expect much.. The service was excellent though even if the food aside from salad and breadsticks was bland and tasteless...We went because we had a coupon for 25% off, and we will return only because the service was so great. Our kids loved it there, the staff treated them like royalty. The main negative I have is because they tried to be slick and hand out dinner menus at lunch on weekends. I was told this was policy and they would give out lunch menus to those who request them but feel this is kind of shady and reeks of trying to milk the customer for a few extra bucks for dinner prices even though it's lunch. Like I said, not the best of restaurants, but sometimes you don't want fancy Italian, you just want something decent, and Olive Garden fits the bill, if only because of their salad and breadsticks!

The food is great at this Olive Garden. However, depending on your server, it can take forever to get any kind of service from just a refill to more salad.

We were seated instantly and our food came out promptly. I ordered the soup and salad special. The pasta e fagioli soup was good but my Tuscan soup was not creamy at all and poorly performed to other locations I've been to. The salad was excellent, but the breadsticks were a bit on a harder side. Service was excellent so I decided this location is pretty good. Our waiter was very nice and checked up on us often enough.

I have an affinity for pasta, bread, and salad!!! So why not go to a place where it's always at its best. With that being said why wouldn't I dine at Olive Garden?!?! This location is contstantly crowded during lunch or dinner. My coworkers and I love to dine here for lunch. It's usually always good. Most of the time there is a little wait but the staff handles it with swiftness. Whether it's lunch or dinner I always get the same thing, the Chicken Alfredo. I love this dish. I can't describe the taste but it's always the same, very flavorful. It's always a large portion because I always have enough to take home and eat for leftovers. And let's not talk about the bread and salad. Sometimes I fill up on bread and salad and eat my entree at home. I'm always stuffed when leave here. The calamari is good as well. I like to get it fried harder than normal because I hate that gummy texture. The service is always good even though it's always crowded. The staff works like busy little bees. They are always focused on the task at hand. I really like that about the staff. So, if you dine here you will most certainly get decent food and service.

OK I went with my co workers for a christmas lunch and it wasn't even 11;15 in the a.m. and the parking lot was at 99% capacity but surprise we were seated in less then a minute. We had 2 plates of the apps with the stuffed mushrooms(my manager just luvs them**,) some cali(squid)chicken strips and some kind of ravioli.I had the chicken marsala as my main course my co worker had the herb grilled salmon and also one had the shrimp alfredo.Everyone enjoyed there meals and the berry drink with sprite was great! My manager comes here with her husband and one day I may bring my wife here if she behaves(**,) Great food not a longw wait for lunch compaired to the one I went to in Woodbridge,N.J.

Food was good, but after been seated, I had to wait 30 min to get served, and the lady never ask me for the drinks. So if you only care about flavor, and not service, this is your place.

Again not real Italian food but last time I was pretty impressed with the special. The Artisanal Ravioli, a pear, mascarpone, and gorgonzola-filled ravioli are tossed in a creamy parmesan sauce with shrimp, and drizzled with balsamic. Semi-sweet yet savory. That was a good eat. Bravo. We also had drinks Pomegranate Margarita Martini Patrón Silver Tequila, Citrónge Orange Liqueur, pomegranate syrup and fresh citrus juices. Delicious and my favorite now. We also had the always good Italian Margarita-Sauza Gold Tequila, Triple Sec and DiSaronno Amaretto. Thanks for making a change Olive Garden.

I have ate at a few Olive Garden be this one is by far the worst. My wife loves Olive Garden so we tried this place again thinking maybe we went at a bad time but nope more of the same bland food and poor service. My wife got the salad and the lettuce was all wilted looking like it had been made quite awhile ago so we both got some soups. Bland soups. Soups that taste good at other Olive Gardens taste bland here. Well when our food finally came It was cold and looked bad. My chichen parm was cold. My lasagna almost looked like a stew of some sorts. My fettuccine alfredo was in a clump all stuck together. Obviously the cook and person expediting doesn't care about the quality of food going out.

Visited this location on a Monday afternoon. They had just opened for business for the day. When I walked in there was foul odor in the restaurant similar to the smell of a wet dog or very sour carpet. I excuse myself and entered the mens restroom. The bathroom had a very strong urine smell. I immediately left the restaurant without ordering anything. This is very disappointing. I have enjoyed some great meals at this location in the past, but this restaurant is in need of a extremely thorough cleaning and possibly a make over.

Not going back here that's for sure. The waiter was getting too personal and wasn't invited to do so. Food - hey, it's Olive Garden so don't expect much.

  • Stefanie M.

The place was packed, it smelled of mildew carpet and cleaner, the seating we were given was this teeny tiny little corner table for two which sucked, but it beat waiting for a table. The garlic bread did not have enough salt and garlic, it was barley noticable. (I am a fatty foody and I want that stuff to go POW in my mouth). The food was same old same old, no complaints. The salad, wet and wilted. The service however was surprisingly good. I don't remember her name, but she had braids maybe, and tattoos on her arms and was thin. This server was super attentive, it seemed like everyone in the place was being cared for. The manager even came to our table to see how we were doing. I would have given two stars if it weren't for the great service we had. If the place felt more clean and aired out I would have given a better score, but it lacked warmth and a romantic ambiance. Olive Garden just needs to tighten something up a little bit. I will come back here.

Service was slow and poor quality. The food legitimately tasted like it was cooked in a microwave.....it just tasted very bad. Also my husband ordered one thing and got something else entirely. What a crappy Olive Garden. I ordered the spaghetti and meat balls. The meat balls had little flavor and I had such a little amount of sauce with the enormous amount of noodles that even the waitress noticed and commented on how dry it was.

  • Jonathan E.

The service was bad. It took forever to get our food and when we finally did, EVERYTHING was COLD!!!!! EW!! Also, you could tell there was just no love in the food.. I love OG, but definitely not THIS one!

  • Ivan A.

The service here was bad. It was really slow, I came in late on a Sunday, the dinner rush was over, so it was a little empty and it still took 30+ minutes for my food to come out! I ate at the bar, and like other posts, the bartender was stretched thin and out of it. Management should' have stepped in to give her a break or something. I felt sorry for her, but I don't come to a restaurant to spend $30 on dinner to feel sorry and apologetic about ordering food. The only reason I give this place 2 stars instead of 1 was that my food tasted good after it finally came out... Good not great, not worth the price though.

  • J B.

Great service Daniel B.!!!!! Food was very good as well we ate during lunch when it was relatively busy and the food nor the service was compromised.

  • Steve J.

What can I say about this Olive Garden. The service was terrible. The poor waitress, bless her heart, was doing her best though, but she was stretched too thin. The place is obviously mis managed. Our table had to ask several times for items we had requested ten to fifteen minutes prior. The sweet tea was the worst ever. It tasted like sugar water. I ordered their new Portobella Parm sauce. It had almost no flavor what so ever. The three cheese marinara was also watered down and extremely soupy. A bus boy came by and snatched our unfinished salad, before we had a chance to tell him we weren't done he dissapeared. Do yourself a favor, stay at home and eat spegetti-o's out of a can before you spend way too much money on this place.

  • Bonnie B.

This place used to be really good, but it's definitely gone downhill in the past couple of years. I went recently for lunch, and even at an off-hour it took forever to get a seat and the service was painfully slow. The food was mediocre--my stuffed mushrooms came approximately 3 minutes before my entree and they were already cold, and my ziti wasn't that great. My server was polite, friendly, and respectful, but he wasn't very attentive and kept stopping for several minutes at a time to converse with people at other tables, and while I enjoy chatty servers, I also don't think that they should be talking at the expense of doing their job. This isn't the worst place to go in Augusta, but I wouldn't recommend it anymore.

    (1)
  • Virgil H.

Does not deserve to call their food Italian. This place is barely above fast food. If you have to go to a franchise chain (which I never recommend) go to Carrabba's. For good Italian in Augusta, go to Luigi's or Augustino's. Nuff said.

An interesting experience to say the least. The OG is a Valentines ritual with my boyfriend and I. When he came into town, we made plans to go out for dinner and a movie. The wait was horrendous. I would never ever suggest waiting longer than an hour in any OG; it's just not worth it. But...it being tradition...we stuck it out. When we finally did get seated, we were greeted promptly by a very nice young man. He was great with drink orders and bringing out the appetizer and entrees in a timely manner. It wasn't until he sat my boyfriend's lasagna in front of him and offered freshly grated parm that there was a problem. Now, my boyfriend is no Italian food expert, but I assure you that he knows the insides and outs of the OG lasagna. So you can imagine he was pretty upset when he saw a plank of pasta rolled over some ricotta cheese, topped with meat sauce being called lasagna. He just sort of stared at it and dismissed the waiter. Our waiter had questioned whether or not they were out for the night, but returned assuring him that he would get a slice of bonafide lasagna. We had to wait until the manager passed by our table to call this to his attention. After denying that this was, in fact, the lasagna for the night. He joked "oh. okay you know what the lasagna looks like here, huh?" Attempting to save any embarrassment on his part. He replied that they had run out of lasagna earlier, apologized, and offered him something else. By the time his new dish had come, my food was cold, and we were 15 minutes late for our movie. I mean...who tries to cover up being out of lasagna? Why couldn't he just come back to us and say "sorry, we're out. what else can I get you?" Instead, they made something that was supposed to resemble lasagna and had the audacity to serve it to us straight-faced.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
