I ordered the regular bowl and put everything I like into it. They have a variety of meats and fish, then you pick out spices and vegetables, then you pick out a sauce and tell the cook which type of rice you would like. They cook it on this giant circular grill and in 5m my food arrived hot and prepared perfect. I like the idea and the price was not too bad at $11.

Will never come here again. They gave half cup of finely chopped broccoli and 3 cups of rice on the beef and broccoli dish. This little beef was very tough. Management said they put 2 oz of steak and 2 oz broccoli. Ya I'll go out for that. Lol

I will not be going back! I have been going to this restaurant since it opened and I enjoyed it. Well the last two times I went the management should be embarrassed the service was a disgrace. Myself and two others came around 8pm on a Saturday surprisingly it was not crowded we were seated immediately by our host but the server..... We waited too long for her to ask for our drink orders... I then ordered potstickers as an appetizer and we waited and waited finally she comes back with our drinks which which were only sodas btw and she then gives us the cards.... The cooks were fine although to have a regular sized bowl they seemed to skimp on the rice my friend and I concluded.... Got back to the table food finally came and I ask our server about my potstickers and her response was Oh we gave it to another table Oh my..... That was it no apology no... "do you want it still"... I had to tell her if it wouldn't be any trouble for her please bring me what I ordered.... She did give me a coupon for the error. I took that coupon the following week the service was deplorable... I guess my server felt since we had a coupon we wouldn't be great tippers she TOTALLY FORGOT WE WERE THERE.... No drink refills nothing! The host saw us looking helpless and attempted to help by getting our takeout trays and after waiting to speak to a manager that never came I paid with the kiosk and left... I did call the manager who gave the weakest response saying "oh if only you stayed I would have yelled at your server for you" when I told him one it was not about "yelling at someone" and that I was less than a mile away and would love to turn around to make a formal complaint... He completely back peddled... What a waste will not be going back until they fire those bimbos and get new management.

We got in the weekend before they open on a training day. Food is modern and fresh of Asian persuasion. Prices aren't too bad either. Would like to see what they are like once they are fully open. Worth a look any way.

Arrived at 730 pm on a Monday night, the place was busy but not packed. Hostess was nice, and seated us right away. Ordered drinks and received instructions on ordering food.....waitress was using a broken pen - awkward interaction as waitress struggled to fill out our menu cards - we continue on to choose our food - no one seems overly excited to be there. A gentleman with long dreadlocks is pouring ice in cooling table, he doesn't have hairnet or hat on and is wearing a heavy camouflaged jacket (unwelcoming and unsanitary)........proteins are crowded together and looks like it has been sitting out as they are all defrosted and sitting in water. Food is taken to grill and no one explained that food is cooked and then brought to our table.....it took 25 minutes for our food to arrive and it was so burned that we couldn't eat it. We left and wont return as an evening was spent in the bathroom - what little food we did eat, didn't sit well with our stomach.

Not terribly impressed... The service was slow- plenty of workers not a lot of organization from management. We sat 5-10min to place an order for drinks- unusual for a place not busy. Did a yikes- when waiter picked napkin off the floor and put on next table but he did clear the table before he left. It's disappointing that you can't serve yourself at the build your own- felt limited on meat and sauces. This is unlike any other Mongolian restaurant that we have been too. Plus side food was good and we could pay at the table. Honestly felt we would have never got the check from the waiter otherwise.

This GG location layout makes things awkward during the busy times. The line to get to the food bar creates traffic and leaves you standing next to other patrons tables. At other locations you get bowl and add your own stuff (like a salad bar)...here an employee adds the meat you chose. You can tell him if you want more. An employee also adds the sauce. I very much liked the GG in Texas and frequented it often. I don't see me doing that with this location. Disappointed.

Three words: okay at best. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool concept however I find it rather disturbing that all of the protein is right next to each other. It all seems rather convoluted. Also, my pork was way under cooked. The service was pretty good. The kiosk thing at our table was broken so we only had one refill. All in all I'm glad my buddy and I went. It was by no means terrible, however I'd rather spend $14 somewhere else.

The quality and cleanliness are top notch! The service is timely even during the lunch hour. The layout of the restaurant is not as effective as the layout in other Genghis grill restaurants I have visited. The main line runs through the middle of the main dining area. The THING I LOVED ABOUT GENGHIS was that it was simple. When I sat down and was handed a huge menu I was disappointed. This restaurant is too different from the other GGs I have loved in the past. Its still good, but different.

Attentive wait staff. Fun table-top touch pad. I agree with Nicole N about being served vs serve yourself. I'll probably have to eat there a few more times to say whether I like the food. Got the Teriyaki but nothing special. Spent $30 for two with tip, no alcohol. That's about the same as other places I'd go for similar fare. Sort of noisy. Of all the sit-down, semi-serve-yourself restaurants in that area within 5 minutes, it's the best. But if I'm just going for Mongolian, there's better.b

I am very happy to have found Genghis Grill Mongolian BBQ. Friendly staff and good variety of ingredients to add to your choice of meat. Good selection of meats. At first, I had to get over the fact that the raw meat is sitting in containers as you start he process of assembling your meal. Most Mongolian BBQ's that I have been to (the ones in Redding and Chico) use frozen and thinly sliced meat. No or little smell. They are all curled up and look so appetizing. Genghis Grill's meats are not frozen. They slap a tong-full of uncooked, chopped meat right in your bowl. Once it is cooked it is great. I just got a little squeamish seeing it on my first visit. I don't like seafood and they have a good variety of it so the smell was a little too "seafoodie" for me as I was standing in line to get to my marinated sirloin tips. I passed by the seafood section at an alarmingly fast pace and then I was home-free as I got to the vegetables, sauce and noodles. The raw meat didn't bother me so much on my subsequent visits because I was ready for it. Hmmm, maybe I am really a vegetarian and I just don't know it yet. Anyway, it is a great place to eat. The coconut/pineapple cream cake is delicious.

I have been to this same restaurant in a different city and this place is completely different in a cheapo way. They make you place everything in one small bowl while they watch you like a hawk. They don't allow you to grab your own meat. You have to make the veggies fit inside of the same tiny meat bowl. They don't place the sauce containers out for you to grab and serve yourself. They also don't have a sign that says that they will pour the sauce into a tiny bowl for you either. Then they reprimanded me for going along with the line and putting everything in one bowl. They give u a nice menu and by the time you return they have your drink on the table but your appetizer menu is gone. To the owner of this joint: you are cheap in ways that make it very uncomfortable for the consumer. There are unwritten rules that made me feel uncomfortable. I will never spend a dime here again.

A great place to grab a quick bite to eat. The staff are decent and helpful. I come in to get take-out if my day runs long. They just informed me that they'd be doing online orders soon, and will start offering part packs that feed up to five people. I'll be back to try the dine in experience.

A very tech savvy restaurant! I really liked it! What I mean is, they have these touch pads at the table...you can play a game, order off of it and PAY YOUR BILL! It's pretty cool! On to the food. We went for the build your bowl option. The price for a medium bowl is $10 which isn't bad considering how much food you get. You first choose your protein...any many options as you want...and they aren't stingy. Then you walk down and add your spices. Then you get some sauce. Finally, you drop your bowl off to be cooked and it comes to you when it's done. You MUST have dessert. We had the coconut pineapple cheesecake. It was SO GOOD at the end we almost bought another one! Service was great, place was clean and food was great!

Very good food you can really fill up on a large bowl. It's great if you want to eat healthy. Only thing they need to add Asian air bread. I will be back for sure very nice staff too.

Food is always good, however, worst service I've ever experienced at an establishment. On Multiple Occasions our food has been lost or forgotten. 48 minutes one time waiting on a refill. Food is excellent though, only reason I continue to return.

I had a pretty great experience here. I was seated very quickly and had the ordeal. I had been to all-you-can-eat create your own stir fry places. While this place was single serving only I was still not disappointed. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They gave very good recommendations on seasoning as sauces as well. All in all, I would very much go back and take more people too.

Went here Friday night with my fiance and kids. We got seated right away and our waitress immediately took our drink order. Our servers name was Rachel and she was super sweet. She knew the menu and was helpful with suggestions as it was our first time there. Our food was awesome. We even got a fish bowl mixed drink which was really good. My family and I will definitely be returning.

This place is everything that a good friend of mine promised it would be! While visiting, she kept telling me about this wonderful and magical place that is as amazing in flavor of food as it is in a healthy eating choice! I was overwhelmed and very pleased in said areas of expectation and more! I loved the aspect of "making your own stir fry" and how well everything was labeled and diverse in different flavors. From meats, to sauces, to veggies, and finally to grain you are covered and your diet (or special eating needs) is taken into careful consideration by the attentive staff. They were there at ever bend and very friendly! I feel they enjoyed being there as well as helping me put my food together! I'd also like to note the cleanliness of the establishment. The restrooms and floors between tables were very clean (despite the rush hour for lunch on the dreary Sunday morning). All in all, this is a place for ALL occasions but I am glad that I was here for my first impression of self-made stir fry and enjoyed my visit with my friends all the more because of it! I will for sure be back during my next trip! The Way of the Warrior is for sure through the stomach here and I will be walking the path again indubitably!

Genghis grill is a chain restaurant. I don't really like chain restaurants, but they do a bit better of a job than most chains. The idea is simple: You pick the size of the bowl, go down the line and put stuff in your bowl, give it to a guy at the end and they'll cook it for you. For some reason first time visitors here get befuddled by this and being stuck behind them in line can be frustrating. The food is good, relatively fresh, average quality proteins and veggies. The sauces are good, but not as spicy as I would like. The nice thing is they have sriracha and they'll just give you a bottle at your table and you can mix it in to your bowl when you get back to your table. They also have a bunch of little add-ons, like eggs, sesame seeds, crunchy asian noodles, cilantro, etc, to top off your bowl. Overall, the food is good, I have eaten there twice and was happy both times. On the negative side: The pre-made food that you order off the list has been unimpressive at best. They don't let you call in and order, even if you want stuff off of the pre-made list. I wanted something from the pre-made list, I had to go, order at the bar, and sit there for 25 minutes in order to pick it up. I got home only to find out the food was bland and lacking any real flavor. After that I decided I would go back and make my own bowl and just take it to go, but for some reason that too was bland, even though it was stuff I put together. It almost seemed like they forgot to put the sauce that I chose on the veggies as they cooked, and then decided to just box it up anyway. I was very unsatisfied. The atmosphere is loud, but not terribly so. I think it's good for families. The service was acceptable. The price was reasonable. So overall, Genghis grill is good if you go, eat there, and do the build-a-bowl. I would not order off the menu, and I would not take it to go.

This is the one spot in the entire area that our whole family can agree on, and for that I have to give it five stars. We always create our own bowls, the pricing is reasonable considering the portion sizes, and the offerings are diverse and fair. Our waitress of choice is 'Hope' and she is a shining example of how customer service should be, and for that we are grateful.

Delicious chunks of steak seasoned to perfection with fried rice cherry tomatoes crispy green beans and a sweet n spicy sauce make a glorious Mongolian Beef Bowl at Genghis Grill. You may build your own... but I say start with one they have so they u can experience the complexity of the various combinations then go it on your own. Don't forget to sign up for the Genghis Club. By the way... Heather is a great bartender who educated me on their weekly Happy Hour with $3 well drinks and $2.00 off the famous FISHBOWL drinks they serve! Order from tablets from your table. :) Go get it!

Wow I would give it no stars if I could. We hated our experience! First, we walked in and it was about half full. There was no hostess and it says wait to be seated. We stood there in plain site (this restaurant isn't that big) and totally got ignored by all servers and saw no hostest. We sat there for what seemed forever. I was already ready to get up and leave. Finally she came and didn't even apologize for our wait. She sat us and we waited another while until our server came. Our server came and didn't even explain how to get our food, we had to ask. The buffet/bar looked nasty and very well unkept. There was a young kid behind the counter who just stared at us. Didn't offer us anything but it was his job to serve us. We just stood there awkwardly. Finally he asked what kind of meat we wanted. He did help us pick sauces at the end though and finally took initiative. We sat down and waited forever for our food to cook. We watched as the waitresses ran all over in chaos like they were a full house but there were only a few full tables. Even the manager was stepping in but everyone's service was terrible with mixed up orders and empty glasses. Finally my food came...and then my husbands a great deal of time later. We were very upset with the size of our food too, we ordered a large for $15 and weren't even full. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! The quality of food was worth maybe half the cost? Neither of us liked the food enough to pay $15 a person. Lastly, they didn't even put both our bowls on the bill. The service was terrible. We paid on the little tablet and only paid for what they put on our bill. Later they charged us for another bowl and ran our credit card again. We were pissed about the whole experience. It was awful. We will never go back and never recommend it to anyone.

How do you review a place like Genghis Grill where you pick your own ingredients and sauce and all they do is heat it up? I decided the only way is by how well it all works. - Order menu items or build a bowl - Friendly staff - Good pricing - Atmosphere is colorful Genghis Grill offers Mongolian stir Fry as a build your own bowl, fast casual, asian stir-fry concept. I stooped in my first time with friends who already knew the inns and outs. While the menu options are tasty looking, building a bowl is an inexpensive treat that would make any Mongol happy. Choose one of three sizes: bird appetite, normal, and stack it high to the sky. They don't call them that, but let's be real, the large is enough for two to share. I don't think even Genghis Khan could finish a large alone. You tell your server you want a bowl then walk over to the bar and tell them what protein you want. There is everything from steak and chicken to shrimp and scallops. After you pile it on you move to the toppings where you carefully stack your potatoes, water chestnuts and broccoli. I like to think of myself as a feed architect at this point. If it stays in the bowl, you're good. The next station is sauce, don't be afraid to try different types. You can sample them. Next you give your bowl to the chefs to cook. At this point you can also add peanuts, chili and hard boiled eggs. If you tip the cooks the smash a gong. Don't be fooled by their appearance, these are the same Mongol warriors, that heated their shields over open fires to grill food in the fields of battle like GENGHIS KHAN! I am satisfied with the experience, flavor, quality and price. If you ask me, they do it better than the Mongolian places that charge way more.

" A Place Where Email Subscriptions Matter." This should be the tagline for Genghis Grill. I'll tell you why. I dined at Genghis Grill soon after it opened its doors in Augusta, Georgia. A friend and I dropped in during lunch. I'd already eaten, but decided to come along to get the experience. I was elated to see that you could be lazy and order something off the menu or you could get off your bum and be an active contributor to your meal. The grill offers stir-fry as the signature entree and a host of other dishes. The basic premise is to pick out your meal every step of the way. My friend Shannon chose chicken stir-fry and several of the fresh vegetables, spices for seasoning and a special sauce. They have chicken, beef, shrimp, scallops, ToFu and more. She thoroughly enjoyed it and that day because I'd already stuffed my face prior to joining her, I just ordered a dessert. The double chocolate brownie was amazing. The server also encouraged us to sign up for the electronic blast disseminated from Genghis Grille. And we did. Fast forward to my birthday!!!!!!! A week prior to my birthday I received an email blast from Genghis Grill telling me that I could get a free bowl if I dined with them on my birthday! Yaaayyy! I really wanted to utilize this because I didn't actually try the signature bowls during my last visit. Well, I dined on my birthday and ordered a regular size bowl with shrimp and scallops. The staff was very helpful as I went through the assembly line. They helped me choose the best seasoning for seafood, I loaded it up with veggies and had it cooked in a special sauce that one of the staffers mixed up for me. I topped if off with brown rice and enjoyed an awesome stir-fry dish. The server was very nice! He came by to check on us several times. My friend shared with him that it was my birthday and I got a FREE double chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. Oh, my email blast also advertised at "Birthday Martini" because the restaurant does have a bar, but they didn't have all the ingredients to make it. That was a bummer, but I didn't need to mix desserts and liquor (bad combo for me, long story). My overall experience was excellent. The server was great! The food was great! My entire meal was FREE! Lastly, they have this electronic ordering and ticketing device at the table, which is very helpful - if you're tech savvy. You can view the menu there and see your complete order and amount owed. I encourage anyone to sign-up for the Genghis Grill email blast. They don't spam you or send them too often. Go by and try it and take advantage of those birthday perks! I live right down the street from this place and I see myself going often, so hopefully they'll implement some rewards program soon so I can take full advantage.

This joint is a simplified, cheaper version of a hibachi full-service restaurant. You pick a bowl size ($8.99 for a medium) then select your proteins, veggies, seasonings and starches; drop off your choices at the grill and wait for the cooks to stir fry it all up and have the food brought to your table. The other option is to choose from the pre-selected menu, but c'mon, you might as well go for the entire Mongolian-lite experience. The ingredients bar was hit and miss, some items were plentiful but others were empty or looked water-logged from sitting out too long on ice. Our server was cheery and checked on us constantly. There was three of us dining. My wife and our friend, Becky, received their stir fries pretty quick. Mine took almost ten minutes longer to come to the table. The cooks were constantly smashing metal or glass violently against the grill and several times we whipped our heads around to clanging/crashing sounds from the kitchen. But we finished our bowls feeling full and satisfied. For dessert our server used these neat table-side electronic tablets to show us different dishes. My wife selected a kind of double-brownie ($5.99). It was smallish and came on a plate artistically drizzled with different sauces, but from the taste it was obviously frozen and reheated for service. This was a cute experience and definitely a better value than going to one of the ubiquitous hibachi clones in the area. However, for a lunch I'd rather go to a decently stocked buffet that offers hibachi grill as well.

I have been eating here since they opened a few months ago. I would have given them 4 stars then but now I am dropping to 3 stars. Mainly due to them dropping shrimp off the menu. The main incentives to eat here, versus one of the other hibachi grills, is the greater variety of food here. If the management starts deleting items, it defeats the purpose of eating there. Another problem recently is the serving of brocolli beyond its prime, turned brown and limp. It was still a good meal, but I have only been patronizing them when I have a coupon. They also tried to seat us in some awful high chairs, with my wife standing there with a cane. Really?

I would give it 4 stars BUT it took them awhile to get my food cooked. My friend received hers a good 10+ min before I finally got mine. Everyone seemed very pleasant and helpful. It was my first time and I chose to do "build your own bowl", I highly recommend that. Not a great veggie selection & not much of a seafood choice in protein section either. Didn't really care much for the sauces. I had to taste everyone before I decided to get one. But I did courteously move out of regulars way to get their sauce. I don't like being someone to hold others up. I did enjoy my food, & I will be back and bring others to try it out. I will not attend during busy hours though. I've seen the crowd, & it gets crowded in the small space they have. To many aisle seats. Two thumbs down on that, I'm a booth person, & would prefer booths.

My first time here I ordered one of their bowls on the menu and that's where I fucked up lol. I wasn't really happy with the flavor and spice so after that I only get the "build your own bowl" ($9.99 for a medium) which in my opinion is better because you can customize and add spices geared toward your palette. If you like one of their menu items then more power to you though! They serve a little protein so I usually ask for a little more, but it's understandable. I recommend their udon noodles over their rice, it makes the dish all that much better! It's usually quite packed every time I've dined in. Service is nice, although on one of my visits I waited a good 10 minutes just to be seated. On another occasion I asked for half the serving of brown rice since I'm trying to eat a little cleaner and I was given fried rice, and a lot more than a normal serving, I was pretty disappointed but other than that I like coming here and I love how I can make my own protein and veggie packed bowl when I don't feel like cooking at home!

Today I decided to visit the Genghis Grill in Augusta, GA. After frequently visiting the GG in Buckhead (near Atlanta) and one in North Carolina, I am a huge fan of this place! I went during lunch time and the workers were very friendly, but what I was not pleased with was instead of being able to serve yourself at the meat section and the sauce section, there was a worker there to place the meat in my bowl for me and to place my sauce into the cup. The fun part of GG is being able to self-serve and being able to fit as much food into your bowl as you can. This was my first time being served this way and I felt as if I was restricted to a certain amount of meat. Overall, the staff was welcoming and nice (which was expected being that the place is new). GG is an AMAZING restaurant and I do recommend people to go there. I love the new addition to Augusta!

Fun experience, great food. If you have not tried a flat top grill night out, you need to try this place. You pick your meat, veggies, etc and then they grill it up for you on a huge flat top grill. I would ask for fried rice and an egg when you choose your starch. Great little extra touch. Many patrons are afraid because they do not know what sauce to choose, etc. Sample, Sample, sample. Ask questions of the staff, they will help you. BTW, the cocktails where strong and good too! If you don't want to choose your own food, then order off the menu. But, that is pretty boring. Be bold!

Restaurant concept: not new but still cool. A first time customer needs more education. I wanted a large bowl and our server gave no instructions except "it's big". The bowl I was given was not big enough and I wasted space because I thought I "filled" it. I am used to Flat Top in the Midwest. When you walk in and sit down the first thing the waitress or waiter asks you is have you been here before. If you have not they instruct you on the process of going through the line. We did not receive any instruction and so I did not fill my bowl as full I could but they gave me so much sauce that it was soupy and did not taste very good towards the bottom of the bowl. The place was loud and very busy and if I had not sat next to my wife on the same side of the table I would've basically been sitting in the aisle. Very cramped. We also sat next to the grill and at several random points every cook let out a warcry. I'm giving it two stars because the food was actually good the atmosphere and the service were lacking.

I have been here a few times and I like the atmosphere. It is so packed though. I have had menu items and build your own. The build your own is much better to do. The main issue for me is when you get a cup to add toppings to your food you realize the cups are not really clean, they seem to go in the dishwasher but they do not separate to get clean enough!

I have been there three times since they opened and I have had great food and service every time I have been there!
