Great burger! This was my first visit to a zesto after moving to atlanta. Saturday you can get a Chubby Decker basket which includes a huge double decker burger all the way, fries, slaw and a large drink for über $7. They have an "A" on their health score and the service was fast and polite. I will definitely return to try a footlong! Yummy!

Cheap and so good! The classic soda shop style burger called The Chubby was so delicious and perfect. Awesome tots, too. Great place!

This is like the South's version of DQ, no? Soft serve ice cream with typical average toppings - hot fudge, chocolate that hardens around your ice cream, nuts, oreo ice cream swirl and then a bunch of fries, chicken fingers, burgers, etc. A cup of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge (I didn't specify a size but it was bigger than the equivalent of a scoop) was about $3.19. You could probably share it if you're with someone you're cool with doing so. No drive thru.. not a ton of parking.. walking distance to restaurants and entertainment in Little 5 Points.

I like this place a lot. It's better than dairy queen and is real ice cream. I got the oreo blizzard which was delicious!

  • Chris L.

This is basically a typical 50's burger, fries, and milkshakes type place. I always found their food good, albeit you shouldn't eat here every single day. I like how they have happy hour ice cream and you can get a single scoop (I like to get chocolate/vanilla swirl) for $1.90. You can't beat that!

When I lived in Atlanta, this was my fast food spot. I typically hate fast food but can justify this location because everything is made inhouse rather than mass produced like McDonald's. Now when I return to Atlanta, I must have a cheeseburger and crinkle fries before I leave town. Yes, it is greasy and fattening and terrible for me... but it is damn GOOD! Whether after a night of drinking or just cold sober, nothing like those tasty little fried onions on a toasted golden bun to make your mouth water. If you have never been, go. Seriously. But don't be surprised by the wait - everything is made to order, unlike other fast food places. And don't be surprised the line is long - everyone else knows just how great the food is.

So I had been wanting to hit up Zesto since I first moved here and I must say, I totally dig this place. We only ordered an Oreo milkshake to go, but it was good (and I've been to plenty of places that can easily fuck up a milkshake). They have daily specials, which is always a plus! I'm totally coming back though.

Stopped by here to sample their milkshake (free w/ Scoutmob) before work! They have plenty of flavors, including Butterfinger, Reese's, coffee toffee, Oreo, etc. The Oreo milkshake was well-prepared, IMHO. The bits were blended pretty fine. But this allowed me to use a straw for the milkshake. I'd definitely come back in the future to sample their other flavors, as this is definitely a neighborhood joint. I didn't try any of their food items, but they have your typical diner options (burger, hot dogs, etc).

My family and I arrived at this location 4/8/14 @ 10:25pm. I must say the cook and cashier was wonderful, but after ordering a 40 buck meal we were told we couldn't eat inside because they were closing at 11pm, a call in order came thru as I stood there a man wanting to order wings, they told him they wasn't taking anymore call in orders cause they close at 11 the man then said he was outside in the parking lot, he then walked in and the manager greeted him and they stayed to converse and laugh then the manager stated "I have to go to my kids, they haven't seen me in 4 days". I then stated well we'll take our good to go as well because we didn't want to be the hold up to her getting to her kids, then she stated I was talking to him I then stayed but you meant it for us. She then continued to go back and forth with me, I then said I'll take a refund, she then stated its not that serious while quickly refunding my money....I took my business elsewhere. I will return because I know everyone isn't the same but when I'm spending my money I want what order along with great customer service. I'm a Megabus driver and I'm always away from my children and husband so when I'm off we make it a family affair after all I chose my career...very dissatisfied with the shift manager's behavior.

I tried Zesto because it was on a list of 100 deserts to try before you die in Atlanta. The ice cream was good and the people were extremely friendly. From the outside it looks kind of abandoned but on the inside it's very clean and organized. The staff is amazing so I will definitely try it out if you are looking for something different than the typical coldstone.

GOOOOOOOD, thick and creamy ice cream! Soft serve that is all over Dairy Queen! I had a vanilla sundae with peaches on top and I was so giddy I was dancing on the stool. It was that good! The people working there were nice enough, the location was clean enough, the folks traipsing in and out...most entertaining! I will leave my side of town and travel the 40 minutes for their sundaes...it's worth the gas and travel time. You can mix almost any topping to come up with your own creation! My buddy had a butterscotch shake and he was quiet the whole time he ate/drank it (yeah, that thick). Little one was in heaven with her Oreo Arctic... I will go back soon! ...and I thought Foster's Freeze on the West Coast was doing something!

  • Tristyn B.

The lady taking my order had a ton of attitude! I told her what I wanted (my free shake and a chili dog with cheese and onions ONLY). My 'dog came out with mustard splotched on top so I sent it back, apparently to her annoyance. When my new chili dog was ready, apparently I didn't jump up fast enough when she called to me, because when I turned around I saw her making faces and throwing my food back on the counter while saying something I presume to be smart. When she realized I saw her, she retrieved my chili dog and asked sarcastically "are you ready now?!" I couldn't believe the gall of this woman! I wrote a complaint while I ate my food, I was that insulted. Zesto at Little 5 can suck it...

    Great Burger! Fast service.

  • Sandra F.

If you are craving fast food and need a quick dinner/lunch. This is the place to come to. The pricing is really cheap and the hamburgers and fries are decent.

    (3)
  • Charlene W.

I love myself some fast food, and Zesto's is a solid choice, but it is in no way gourmet or exciting. All of their burgers remind of of a Big Mac at McDonald's and the last time I was here, my burger buns were completely cold. Not even room temp, but cold. It was as if they took them straight out of the fridge and slapped them on my burger. I do like that they have milkshakes though, I think that's what keeps me coming back...

  • Chad E.

Sometimes you just have to get excited about the little guy, and this is the time to do it. There are plenty of fancy places in the Little Five Points area that get fancy about food. Heck, there are plenty of places that get fancy about their buildings (look somewhat across the street at The Vortex). But Zesto just serves up the good old-fashioned food, and even better, they do it at an old-fashioned price. Hamburgers, fries, shakes - it's like a soda shop. Who thought that places like this still existed? I sure didn't. As if that wasn't enough of a surprise, you can see that they've embraced technology, accepting credit cards, using fancy point-of-sale systems. Maybe their portions are smaller than they used to be, but just about everyone has done that, and at least they are still there. It's all good.

    (3)
  • Jackson R.

You can't go wrong in Zesto's unless your on a serious diet. Ice cream, burgers, gyros all good. The service is outstanding, and the facility is always well kept. It's just one of those only in Atlanta establishments that remind me of my childhood growing up, forget Micky D's, I wanted Zesto's...lol!

    (4)
  • Cameron L.

Full disclosure: By this point, I have spent at least 24 hours of my life in this Zesto over the course of five years. Once the ladies get to know you, they will treat you really well. Back when I ate meat, I loved the chicken livers (so did my cat, for that matter), the Chubby Decker, and the fish sandwich. I don't go here for savories that often these days, but their grilled cheese just has something special about it. Carnivorous or not, I'm still all about the ice cream here. The soft serve is made with *actual* ingredients, which means it tastes like, um, ice cream instead of cardboard. They will also make pretty much any ice cream item with chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla if you ask. Coffee toffee arctic swirl with chocolate ice cream? Yes. Brownie deluxe with chocolate ice cream and hot fudge? Oh, yeah. Cherry shake with chocolate ice cream? Oh yiss yiss. By the way, the fruity shakes have actual, identifiable fruit in them! You're going to have stop several times in the middle of your shake to dislodge a chunk of cherry from your straw. In summary, it's a wonder that I am not morbidly obese given how close I live to this place.

Brown nut crown and tater tots. Guilty pleasures for a great price! Not much more to be said than that.

  • Terry W.

Been eatting Zesto's for 40 years... brings back childhood memories, and they havent changed a thing. The only place on town to get a foot long chili slaw dog on a toasted bun... oh and dont get me started on thier onion rings.. Pure heaven

    (4)
  • Brittney C.

I had the footlong hot dog. Delish! I always get their fries, they never disappoint. The prices are very cheap. Always a great place to stop when on a budget.

    (4)
  • Dan L.

Been to Zestos many times and just had my worst experience Ordered a turkey burger abd only was given mayo No tomato Be very specific with what you want This was absurd

    (1)
  • Dan T.

Get the Chubby Decker. You won't regret it. It's messy, it's not gourmet, it's perfect. You got your double patty with the traditional burger accoutrements (ketchup, mustard, a few onion slices, PICKLEZ, lettuce, tomato and perfectly melted cheese). Yeah--it's not a Burgerfi shishi burger, nor is it a Holeman and Finch ubershishi burger, but if you're looking to spend less than 10 bucks on a meal, do yourself a favor and hit Zesto's for their Chubby Decker. Other menu highlights: piping hot tots and their hot wings. What I don't like about Zesto's--and I guess it's a criticism that could easily be levied against L5P in general--is how unnecessarily garish, gritty and sketchy it is. The bathrooms are indeed nightmarish. The strong lighting makes you feel like you're in an examination room. If you are cool with both of those things, then you will love this place. And probably hold it in higher regard than that overrated tourist trap we call the Varsity. Standby.

  • Robert M.

Zesto's is a local fast food chain that was started by a Greek family back in the 1940s or 1950s. Whenever people from out of town ask me about The Varsity and whether or not they should go there to eat, I often refers them to Zesto's instead. The Chubby Decker burger is comparable to McDonald's Bic Mac or Burger King's Whopper, but better. The fries at Zesto's are of the crinkle cut variety and are always cooked just perfectly and are served piping hot. The soft served ice cream treats are the stuff of legend. When I partake in a dessert here I always get the Nut Brown Crown cone, which is a vanilla soft serve ice cream cone dipped in chocolate sauce that eventually hardens into a firm shell, but rolled in chopped peanuts before the chocolate hardens into a shell. The foot long hotdog (with chili and slaw) is also the stuff of legend and is arguably the best thing on the menu; however, if you don't eat it fast the bun will turn flimsy and soggy to the point that it will disintegrate hand turn into into mush (from contact with the chili and slaw). If you don't want burgers or hot dogs. there are various other menu items that are pretty good like the hot buffalo chicken wings, fried chicken baskets, fried fish baskets and gyro wraps. I am a fan and I eat at this location (as well as the one on Ponce) often. The location in the Lindbergh neighborhood (on Piedmont at Morosgo) is good also.

I ate at Zesto twice in a week (please don't tell my doctor), which already tells you something. On my first visit, I had a footlong hotdog with chili and slaw with onion rings. On the second, I ate the Fatboy burger and tots, washed down with a chocolate malted. Again, please don't tell my doctor. Both meals were to-go, so I can't really speak to the cleanliness of the restaurant, as I didn't stay very long. Everything about Zesto is fun to me. The decor, the upgraded fast food menu, and especially the selection of milk shakes and malteds all contribute to a really excellent throwback feel. The food is far better than any fast food drive thru, but I wouldn't say it's the best food I've ever had, either. Everything is tasty in that way you feel guilty about, if you know what I'm saying. I look forward to future (rare) visits for an occasional malted or to take advantage of their specials, but it probably won't be a regular stop. It reminds me a lot of the DQ stops or my youth or maybe going to the Varsity on the way home from a long road trip.

Food is always good unfortunately the service is not so great I understand its fast food but why are you mad at me you gave me the wrong order

    (2)
  • Rebecca S.

Not the best service ever, but so great when you feel the urge to eat something entirely unhealthy. I love going here on a lazy Saturday night to grab food before hibernating. I would do anything for a brownie deluxe sundae. It is absolutely amazing.

  • Benjamin G.

I mean....It's probably self-explanatory when you look at Zesto. They are all about some greasy burgers, fries and a few other favorites. Can't speak too much to anything other than the ice cream and the general cleanliness of this location. The ice cream? Meh, definitely a letdown. I'm not always very gung ho for ice cream, but we decided to check it out since it's in the neighborhood. Had a chocolate malt and my wife had a butterfinger something or other. My wife's choice was pretty fair, but mine was so bland. I couldn't even tell that there was malted milk in the shake....which is the best part. Not a huge deal as the chocolate flavor was decent. I'm glad it was a small size, too. The biggest downside to this location is the interior. It was rather dirty from the floor to the counters with garbage. The floors looked pretty mucked up as well...like they hadn't been mopped in quite some time. The worst part for me was the men's restroom. Why did I go in? I have no idea. It was like walking into a haunted house. So gross. Just.....gross. Also, there are just so many asinine things written....no, CARVED into the mirror. It's sad. I most likely won't be rushing back to Zesto anytime soon.

  • Alex C.

The hot fudge shake is so good. However, it all depends on who makes it. Sometimes they go light on the syrup and it just tastes like vanilla softserve. Then, when they go overboard, it tastes like a delicious chocolatey hot fudge milk shake thats the best $3 shake you'll get. The food here in general seems kind of sketchy, I've had the chili dog before and its not too bad for $2. I'll be coming back to try the gyro one of these days.

  • Robert S.

One of the tastiest greasy spoons I've ever eaten at. When I mentioned wanting to visit Zesto to a UPS Store employee, they instantly referenced The Varsity. Well, OK...another time perhaps. This was my last meal before boarding my personal 737 back to Chicago. I loved Zesto--down & dirty grease burgers, fries, shakes, deep fried & battered okra, coleslaw and gizzards. GIZZARDS? Oh, man...I AM in the South. Luckily, I gave those a pass but sampled their famous hot dog and a few sides. A terrific menu with just enough Southern eats to make me miss the South.

    (4)
  • Rebecca O.

I can't speak for their food, but the milkshakes...mmm, delicious. The hot fudge milkshake is what keeps me coming back. The service is usually pretty good and they stay open late.

  • Scott P.

I highly doubt you go to a place like Zesto for the reviews, so I'm probably writing this in vein, butttttttt Ok so lets see, let me compare this place to Dairy Queen really, cause, well, it's similar in a lot of ways, except it's a hometown choice. So it gets a star for being an Atlantaism. Secondly you don't really go here because of the "food", you come here because of the dessert offerings, which are similiar to Dairy Queen but everything I tried was better, the soft serve ice cream, yum, thier "blizzard" is much much better than DQ and many more toppings in it. So in the future if I'd be in for a Dairy Queen, I'd end up at Zesto instead.

  • Jerald G.

Great for hot dogs and ice cream with the kids on a summer day. You can sit at the window bar and people watch throughout little 5.

    (4)
  • Philip M.

A dairy queen at the end of the alphabet...Zestos is an icon. Brownie things was molten in the bottom of the cup and steamed half way through eating it. Delicious! Great people watching too!

I got a "blizzard" here. It was yummy. Very good substitute for the real thing. Quick service. Very affordable.

Burgers, fried chicken, wraps, livers and gizzards, oh my!! It's a clean joint that fits all of your needs. This is some of the best hang over food you can get. The prices are cheap and sometimes you can have a little drunk action going on inside. I prefer this location to all of the others. They have the highest score (a 98) vs the 80"s I've seen at the Ponce location.

    (4)
  • Tom N.

Little Five Points smells bad! But, this place is great! We were just walking around the shops seemed like it was 100 degrees out and we wanted something to cool us off. We see Zesto, I say what's that the girlfriend says shes seen shirts from there before so we go in. There were tons of people inside I like that tells me that we are somewhere good... usually. The girl got an ice cream cone and it was amazing! I ordered a coke! And I don't have a clue why but it might have been the best Coke I have ever had. It was what coke is supposed to taste like. I would definitely go back here if I am in the area and need to avoid the stench of the streets. I would easily recommend this little place to my friends.

    (5)
  • David And Natalie S.

Zesto's is decent fast food/diner death on the whole but this location is always dirty and it's workers seem the least motivated. Not that I'd be busting kneecaps to make a burger, but these fools barely look like they are breathing half the time. I believe this Zesto also sports one of the lowest health ratings for a Zesto. But the real disappointment is they don't have the cheap tacos. Unless your drunk on a weeknight and the dozens of classier burger joints are closed (with almost the same prices) I would take my money to Krystal if you are trying to call in sick the next day. If you are really serious about calling in sick to work get the tots with "chilli" and "cheese". If gut rot is not the goal definately keep it moving past Zesto!

    (2)
  • Brian R.

Me gusta Zesto! Hungry after searching for rollergirls tickets at Le Petit Mort (which is the old location of Lucky Devil if you're searching for it on any maps) and succeeding in our endeavor, E and I made our way over to Zesto for a delicious reward of strawberry slushies and an order of tots. The slurshers hit the spot and the tots were sublime. A great place to get some relief from the brutal summer heat and do some quality people-watching.

    (4)
  • Jim T.

Whenever we're in Atlanta we always make time to eat at a Zestos. Their fries and soda fountain drinks are the best you'll find anywhere. Not health food, but man does it hit the spot!

    (4)
  • Rachel P.

Zesto milkshakes are good for when you need a milkshake fast, but you're not willing to make a big financial investment on one. We're all familiar with the feeling, yes? They have lots of flavors of milkshakes, and the final product is just fine. Definitely not the best milkshake in town, but it'll do when you need a fix.

    (3)
  • Jan N.

This is an okay place to run into, if you're looking for inexpensive eats. The burgers are pretty tiny, and are always so flat that they look like they've been sat on. Also, they hardly have any condiments on them. One thing I actually like here is the Coney Dog. It's a foot long, with a small amount of chili, and slaw on top. I like the slaw here enough to always order an extra cup of it, then I add a little more to my Coney Dog. The tots here are always nice and crispy. This Zesto would be a much better place to it at, if they would clean it up and keep it clean, but for food to go, it's not bad.

    (3)
  • Kan R.

The ppl here r so friendly . I wish I would have found this place when I first moved to Atlanta just my style :))-

    (4)
  • Alison L.

Nothing fancy at the Zesto. Just hardcore junk food served hot and fast. On my first visit, I ordered the chili dog with a side of slaw. The tater tots are the thing--fried up to a golden brown. Crispy, never soggy. Seasoned just right. Yum! Everyone raves about the dipped cones of soft serve ice cream. I will make this a priority the next time I need a fast food fix.

    (3)
  • Darrell G.

Greatest turkey burger in the city! Everything is good. The service is fast and courteous. Ive been going to this location for twenty years. Never a letdown.

    (4)
  • Mista G.

Great food. I've ordered a double decker combo from there. Tasted good and was inexpensive. Only gripe was that the parking lot sucks but that's little five points for you.

  • Katrina D.

Zesto in Little Five Points has been in my life since I use to skip high school with my girlfriends and take Marta, then walk a mile to Lil' Five. Good times man. Anyhow, they have scrumptious milkshakes, ice cream, and fast food. It is damn cheap too!!! An ice cream for less than $2? Check! 9 hamburgers for $8? Check! A meal with chicken fingers, fries, and a drink for $3.29? Check! Seriously though, I like ice cream and go to an array of places including Carmel, Cold Stone Creamery, Whole Foods, and Baskin Robbins. And though the ice cream at these places is all good (it is pretty impossible to have bad ice cream, isn't it?!), it is EXPENSIVE! No me likey! Go to Zesto for Milkshakes, ice cream, family style chicken meals, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and more unhealthy food to please your guily pleasure. In moderation, unhealthy food is fine (in my opinion)!!! And then, go east down Moreland to Starlight Six Drive-In yelp.com/biz/starlight-s… ! Perfect fun date or evening with the kids!!!

    (4)
  • Evelyn J.

Though the decor is not as nostalgic as the Ponce Zesto, it still maintains an old fashioned feel with the high stools and countertops rather than tables. Great view of L5P from here. Can't beat the cheeseburger. Brown crown is so good that its worth enduring considerable displeasure for, which is handy if you're lactose-intolerant.

    (4)
  • Julie R.

I'm really easy. Most of the time, all it takes is a vanilla cone from Zesto to turn my frown upside down. Better make it a large, though; their portions have gotten smaller over the years. Sigh.... I've been going to the one on Ponce for years, but lately, I've been frequenting this location because a good friend of mine lives really close by. DANGER!!! I rarely eat here anymore, but they actually have really good chicken fingers, too. But the star of Zesto is and always will be the ice cream - in fact, so much so that I'd like to crown Zesto to be the Emperor of Ice Cream in Atlanta. Five plus, plus stars all the way.

    (5)
  • Mike T.

I split the fried chicken and wings with Lynn. The chicken coating wasn't just bad, it was awful. The chicken wasn't flavorful and we were eating thigh meat. I believe they forgot salt and pepper... or maybe they just forgot the flavor? The wings looked tasty but my expectations didn't match with reality. Most reviews on here are for something other than chicken so if we try this again it will be for a burger, dog, or something else. I know it's local and we would rather eat at a place like this than otherwise but the experience wasn't as good as the hype. The juice just isn't worth the squeeze here...

    (2)
  • Ashley R.

If you are craving a hotdog, this is an awesome place to start. They have other food too, but I've only had the hotdog! It was A-OK!

    (3)
  • Yeme T.

The prices are reasonable and the food is descent. Oddly enough I never get ice cream from Zesto, I guess Jake's and Morellis have spoiled me so much I no longer like the mundane flavors they carry. They have got to do better on serving time. Everytime I come I end up waiting 20 minutes for my food which is no bueno.

    (3)
  • Vincent V.

A great alternative in Little Five Points for a quick meal without sitting down in one of the full service restaurants nearby. You can grab a burger or any number of fried chicken parts in half the time it would take to eat nearby. So it's a good stopping point for a snack if you decide to pick up and switch bars in the middle of the evening. Since it's right in the heart of Little Five Points, this Zesto is usually pretty busy at any point in the day. They still manage to crank out orders quickly, but the milkshakes start to take a long time to come out. Final note: There's something on the menu called the Wife Saver Special. It's a ton of chicken, 1 LB of fries, slaw, and a drink. I'm sure I'm misinterpreting the name...but shouldn't that much cholesterol be the Wife Killer?

Every time we're back in Atlanta - we make a list of all the great places we want to go and eat: some for the food, and some just for the memories. While I'd never call Zesto's cuisine - and we really only went there for dessert, not to really "eat" - you have to go just to relive the memories of hot nights in Atlanta when only a frozen delight will keep you from melting into your tevas. Ahhh... Zesto's!

    (4)
  • Yvette J.

I dream of Zesto's. When I was pregnant, Zesto's was my craving. I've never ordered anything but ice cream but that's all I need. Their cones are the best - brown crown, nut crown, nut brown crown - all heavenly. When I die, I want some of my ashes to be spread here. No one will notice because my ashes will simply add to the dust and dirt already accumulated here :)

  • Cathy L.

It was my first time here. I was out and about with my boyfriend trying to find a burger joint to go to, but we ended up here instead. The exterior of the restaurant is quite deceiving, but the food is superb. I love the food here and the ice cream. This place by far has the best ice cream in town. I will definitely be back to try out their wings combo.

    (5)
  • Richard S.

I love this place the food is good as hell!! Chubby Decker hits the spot everytime!!

    (5)
  • Isaiah D.

As a first timer walking through the doors, I gravitated towards a Chubby Decker b/c of all of the pictures of this burger throughout the place. I figured it was a staple for Zesto. The burger was great, but I felt that I gave up on my original reason for venturing out this way for a corn dog. With that said, I guess I'll be planning another trip back sooner than later. I hear they have great ice cream too.

    (4)
  • Shannon H.

Good local fast food joint, we eat here way too often. But, I enjoy the grilled cheese sandwiches, the chubby decker, the onion rings, and the soft serve ice cream, yum. If you're in a hurry, or just want something that's probably fairly bad for you but tasty, this is the place.
