What a GEM! I saw the Pork Banh Mi in Atlanta magazine and had to try it. I'd never had Vietnamese food before and this was AMAZING. My husband and I and the woman next to us all were totally satisfied with our meals. Speaking of the woman next to us, we were in close quarters. The place is tiny, and the seating wouldn't be any good for someone with back problems. Keep that in mind, but come expecting some phenomenal food! The owner was one of the friendliest people I've ever met. She makes the small space feel appropriate, like a family setting. I'm so glad we came here!

The woman who owns this place looks like ancient Asian royalty from some elite dynasty that has a pure bloodline and only breeds with genetically advanced humans. The ba Minh are the best ive ever had and I travel all over. I always fuck with the tofu one cuz it's got the texture of buffalo mozzarella. 10 stars

Super yummy bun with BBQ pork, all the ingredients were very fresh. Service was outstanding. It is indeed a very tiny space for dine-in, but looks like they do a mean take-out business too. I heard they are expanding into the space next store, which will probably be better for everyone! We also got the boba tea which was a bit too milky for my taste...maybe try the coffee variation if you're craving boba when you're there.

Solid bbq pork bahn mi. Crusty baguette, plenty of meat, nice and spicy. It might not be as good as the best on Buford Highway, but it's as good as I've had. The place is small, really too small to eat-in even though they have some stools nestled against the wall and in a little front alcove. Better to take it to-go, find a shady bench and do some people watching while you eat. Maybe you'll get a visit from Bob the Vietnam vet, as I did while sitting outside Argosy. That guy sure can talk. Highly recommended.

This fabulous little Vietnamese diner is one of the smallest places I've ever eaten in. The owner is full of energy and has the wisdom to limit her menu to a few items that are well prepared. She welcomed us from behind a counter where two other employees prepared food. Three of us got the Bun, a salad with vermicelli noodles and spicy beef (it also is available with chicken or tofu). The signature dish is the Bahn Mi, which our fourth tried. We agreed we were okay with spice and were not disappointed. We were traveling on the interstate and only had to go four minutes off 20 for a truly memorable and unique experience.

I don't visit Suki Suki often, but I wish I did. I would come here for lunch once a week if I worked from home. I've had the pork and chicken bahn mi and I prefer the flavor and spice of the pork, but I order the chicken when I'm lessening my pork/beef intake. While these bahn mi aren't as veggie packed as the sandwiches you can get on Buford Highway, they match the BuHi sandwiches with authentic flavor and outrank them with more meat. You can by Zappo chips and Pellegrino brand drinks to go along with your sandwich (Suki Suki is in the EAV and has to feed hipsters.) Most people like Q (owner), and that means a lot. If you can put out good food with a smile, people are going to come back again and again. A warm hello when you enter a shop goes a long way. Not enough businesses realize how important this is, but Q gets it. And while Suki Suki is small, you can eat at one of the counters along the wall. The diners I've seen don't seem to mind sitting side-by-side. If you eat on Buford Highway regularly, Suki Suki doesn't compare, but it doesn't have to. Buford Highway is 25 minutes away from me, but Suki Suki is only 5. Not too hard to figure out where I'm going to stop first. Yelp 100 #4

One of the best banh mis ever! Moved away from EAV just when it opened but come in every single time we visit the ATL. Wouldn't miss it. And trust me Ive had a lot of banh mi.

The tone for lovely afternoon was set with We Suki Suki. I had a taste for a great sandwich and was in the EAV, so after I finished my work drudgery (thanks to the welcoming arms of Joes Coffee), I walked up to WSS. Being welcomed by the owner Q is a treat in itself. Her demeanor is so warm and sincere and enthusiastic. I got the charbroiled pork banh mi, even though I was momentarily distracted by the temptation of pho. That, alas, will have to wait. I was in a Sammie mood. There are only a few seats at the tiny, cozy bar table, so don't go in planning for a long sit with your bestie. The bread was delicious. Soft and stretchy inside with a nice crunchy crust. Pork was generous and had that signature char taste, with a little different spicing than I was used to. Really good. Crunchy pickly veggies were all in attendance, each adding their own voice to the banh mi harmony. I skipped the jalapeño but got sriracha -- that's the right amount of sting for my taste. Excellent banh mi on a day you're not in the mood to drive to BUHI -- or any day.

Hole in the wall in EAV. The sign says "Buford Highway EAV". Stopped for lunch with a co-worker. We stayed and sat on stools to eat. The crowd at lunch is very "hipster EAV". The woman working (probably the owner) was super nice. No coke products to drink, just water and some coconut milk things. But the BBQ pork sandwich was AMAZING. It was $6; no change or tax. I'll for sure be back, but next time I'll probably just call in my order ahead of time and take it to go. It looks like on Tu and Th nights it turns into an Italian place.

Q and her staff are amazing ... the food is hot, fresh and wonderfully seasoned... I recommend this spot as the place for your lunch on the go or a quick snack.... great location, great service and great food.

  • Cindy H.

It's a tiny place and if you blink you would probably miss it walking in the village. I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. I had the pho and it is worth sitting down and eating there. You can't get it to go. The owner is super friendly and takes pride in her cooking. Every person that came in to the shop obviously frequents the place just based on the pleasantries. I am glad I don't have to trek it to Buford hwy for delicious pho! Also I appreciate the beef they use, sirloin? All I know It is not that sliced beef that turns gray in other pho I have had. Haven't tried the sandwiches yet but will be back soon.

Such a great place! Definitely try the pho is she has it. Dine in only for the pho though!

The best Pho and Banh mi in the metro area by far, this is a tiny cozy boutique restaurant is oozing with that classic EAV hipster vibe that is often imitated but unlike most places it is genuine here at We Suki Suki. The owner Q is a sweetheart, and every sandwich and bowl of soup passes through her hands to ensure that the quality is up to her high standards. So stop by grab a sub and some soup and enjoy all that the EAV has to offer.

  • Sana S.

Just had my first Vietnamese sandwich and can I say it was delicious. I also had the bubble tea. It was really good, not too sweet. I can't wait until the fall when I can get pho. Yummy place and good customer service.

Solid BahnMi (chicken and beef).. Good food and very small diner! Not a lot of room to move, but its all about food. The owners energy exudes and makes up!

  • Melissa G.

First off, Q is probably the nicest business owner I've ever met. She has an awesome, bright spirit. :) Her bahn mi's are equally awesome. The BBQ chicken pork bahn mi was heavenly. Perfectly flavored and tons of meat. Mayo only compliments the sandwich further. Bubble tea tastes better hot than cold. Remember that!

How I have taken 2 years to visit this spot is beyond me! Stopped in for lunch today and ordered the BBQ pork banh mi "to go". OMGeeeee! Absolutely delish! The owner is a very friendly woman who personally made and handed me the sandwich. I will definitely be returning to try the spicy beef lemongrass soup/pho. Minus one star because the soup is "dine-in only" and seats are highly limited in the shop's tiny space, but otherwise a delightful experience.

  • Jo W.

AMAZING!!! Since my wife and I moved back here from NY, I hate to say, I'm rarely impressed with food. But this place is awesome! I can't wait to try the Pho. The bbq pork sandwich is soooooooo yummy!!!!! Do it!!!!! You won't regret it.

  • Brooke D.

Get here before 3 o'clock every day! The barbecue bahn mi or the lemon chicken bahn mi is amazing. Can't think of the lady's name, but she runs it, and she is the sweetest lady. She remembers your orders if you're a frequent goer of this restaurant, and she is extremely nice to everybody who walks through the door. There's about 6 to 7 seats on the inside at a small counter height bar that you can sit at, but I doubt you will. Tight tight squeeze in there, so be aware. But overall I love those sandwiches. I live pretty far from East Atlanta, so I don't get there as often as I like. But I have good friends who bring me sandwiches from here when they go!

    (5)
  • Tristyn B.

This was my first-ever bahn mi sandwich. Therefore I can't really compare the quality of it to anyone else's. It was good though. I opted for the grilled chicken one. However. The thing I have a problem with is the owners inconsistent glove use and lack of hand-washing. She happened to put gloves on while she put my sandwich together, but then she took them off and handled other food items AND cash. Not to mention that she also doesn't cover her hair. That's a no-no for me, so I won't be back.

My First ever Bahn Mi sandwhich, it was AWESOME. be a little careful of the hot sauce. The owner seems like a real character. Can't wait to try the Pho. Downside are the hours. id love pho after work.

This was my first time trying Bahn mi and let me just say that after one bite, I wanted another, lol! I went on a Saturday with friends maybe just before or after 12 noon and I swear as SOON as we sat down to enjoy our food, this tiny place was hummin'! Despite the line (that was nearly out the door) the owner and staff were very friendly and even asked from the back, 'how are my girls at the window doing?' mouth stuffed all I could do was give a thumbs up that I hope she saw as I did make a conscious effort to raise my hand really high, lol! My Bahn-mi was super awesome and flavorful; fresh bread, tender chicken, crunchy veggies and I got mine "all the way" with jalapenos and sriracha. As an added bonus, the owners mother was in town and when she is, she prepares her 'Mom's Specials' which I had the pleasure of sampling as well. We didn't have to wait long for our food and even if we did, I would've been worth the wait. I'll definitely be returning to gem of an eatery!

  • Jim S.

There is NO bahn mi in town that compares to this one. I love the tofu or the pork but they are all good. This place is an experience you will not forget and you will be back again and again. I will drive from the other side of town to go here. You will notice there are a large number of regulars which tells you how good it is. Q the owner is something else and makes your day!!

    (5)
  • Krysta B.

Five stars all the way for this place is incredible. Amazing and delicious sandwiches. The customer service is impeccable, the place is tiny, seating is minimal but it doesn't matter the food makes it worth every bite. I would stand on the street to eat one of Q's sandwiches. My only complaint about this place is its a little dirty!

    (4)
  • Rachel P.

Lee's Bakery of East Atlanta. Very good pork banh mi, always served with a smile. I always find free parking nearby, and I've never waited long.

I was excited to try this place because we could get some banh mi closer to downtown that Buford Hwy. I had the lemongrass chicken, which has great flavor. Just a tad bit spicy, but also savory. These sandwiches are also a little meatier than what you'll find on Buford Hwy. I don't really like pickled anything, but I did get the pickled veggies. The fact that I was able to eat them means they were basically unpickled. So if you're really into that part of the banh mi, this place doesn't have it. I also tried the bubble tea. I love bubble tea, and though while it was still edible, it just wasn't very good. One of the things that makes bubble tea good is the relative strength of the tea and the sweetness of the boba. The tea tasted watered down and the boba was unsweet. While there, the lady behind the counter said she had to brew some more tea before making our drinks, so I imagine it just wasn't completely steeped yet. This place is TINY, so it's really more of a grab your food and run sort of place. Since it's so small, it's also a little confusing. When and where do I pay? Who is taking my order? Definitely not bad if you're in the area and need a bahn mi fix, but it doesn't top Buford Hwy.

Love We Suki Suki. Very excited about their expansion into Urban Cannibals space. This is great for everyone!

  • Sylvia D.

This little hole-in-the-wall makes great food at great prices, and the owner/chef is a joy. Too bad they're only open during the day when I'm at work. Go on Thursday to get the pho (eat-in only).

    (4)
  • Kiambi T.

Go! You won't regret it from the food to the lovable owner Q, everything about this place is amazing. The tofu Bon Mi is bomb! And the vegan pho brings me such joy, Q puts all these yummy fresh herbs in her food the jalapeño and cilantro. On top of all this you feel so at home and welcome.

    (5)
  • Jacob T.

The tofu bahn mi has become one of my favorite sandwiches; I'm there a couple times a month. The owner makes the tofu herself, and both for flavor and texture it's my favorite that I can remember. Even if you eat meat, try the tofu--it's better than a "meat substitute." Only caution: It's going to take a while to get your order! Call (far) in advance if you're in a rush.

The first time I tried one of We Suki Suki's banh mi was at a Grand Opening party at Village Fitness. There was one sandwich left (tofu) that my friend and I split. It was delicious and I was hooked. I make sure to stop in whenever I can for lunch. I've seen this place evolve, from being run by two teenagers, to running out of ingredients, and the shop finding its footing in EAV. All the while, it's survived. Today I went in to see Q, and to my surprise, she remembered me and was excited I was back (it had been a few months). I've heard people complain about Q, calling her crazy or disorganized. She has been sweet and a pleasure to talk to every time. I do think she's crazy, but in a good way. It helps her stay on top of things. Plus I love that she knows what is going on in the neighborhood, and is always willing to chat while making the sandwiches. Now, let's get to these sandwiches. The reason I love Q's banh mi is that she has gotten me to love a few things I normally dislike. I'm not a vegetarian by any means and usually don't like tofu, but the tofu here is incredible. I'm also not a fan of spicy food, or mayo, and yet I get the banh mi with all the fixins, including the mayo, fresh strips of jalapeno, and Sriracha. It's fantastic. She toasts the bread and cooks all the protein to order. The carrots, cucumber, daikon, and cilantro are super fresh. My only criticism would be to remove the cilantro from the stem. These banh mi are a deal. The sandwiches went up in price to $5 (from $4), but it's still a great deal in the neighborhood. There isn't much room to sit, but I always grab mine to go. For me, the banh mi and Q's personality keep me coming back. Also, Q mentioned that starting the end of April, on Saturdays she's going to have street vendors come in cooking a variety of different treats from all over the world. While I'm not sure how that will work in the small space, I will be there to check it out.

  • Arielle B.

Great Banh Mi's + friendly service + great price ($5, yes $5) = happy camper! Sort of a "mom and pop" shop ran by this sweet lady who makes you feel like she's cooking for you in her kitchen:) All she serves are Banh Mi's and Boba Tea, and Pho in the fall/winter.

They were ultra, sooo friendly!! I originally planned for lunch at Urban Cannibals next door but they weren't even opened (which was strange?) so I asked a young looking chick who was passing by, what time they opened, and she said she wasn't sure but I should definitely stop at We Suki Suki instead. I was hungry and desperate so I followed her advice & ate there instead. Come to find out the chick was an employee lol and they had just opened shop for the day! Being that I was the first customer of the day, I had dibs to some great seating! They were all making conversation with me! I loved how they didn't treat me as though I just some dollar sign. Though this was my first time coming here and meeting those people, they truly appreciated my service and almost felt like family. In all, the Taiwanese milk tea was yummm (maybe a little less ice next time, drowned out the flavor almost) and the Banh Mi lemongrass chicken was like heaven!!!! The ingredients tasted so fresh! Will most definitely revisit again, even if I don't have a dime in my pocket, I would at least come back to say hi n stuff, cause their customer service was really amazing!

The Banh Mi sandwiches are absolutely delicious here. Quite authentic and fresh, with the price being just right. I have tried both the pork (DELICIOUS) and Tofu (also amazing) Bahn Mi sandwiches. There are a good selection of drinks that go with the sandwiches as well. Q is an awesome person to talk to and sit while you are eating your food. She has also just added a breakfast Bahn Mi that is available at 7:30am if you want to grab one on your way before work. Well worth a visit!

    (5)
  • Xtine R.

Q and her staff have the banh mi game on lock! They have a lot of regulars, and they manage to keep track of everyone's "usual" order. The sandwiches are fantastic and unlike any other. It's a great tucked away hole-in-the-wall kind of place and seating is VERY limited, so I would suggest getting your food to-go. That is, unless you order a seasonally-offered bowl of pho, which you'll have to enjoy in-house (and if you are vegan/veggie, she offers vegan pho on Fridays!). Everything here is awesome, highly recommended!

  • Elizabeth B.

I love this place so much. I had never tried a banh mi before, and now I am hooked. If you don't know what a banh mi is, it's a Vietnamese/French sandwich: pickled carrots and daikon radishes, cilantro, cucumbers, a buttery mayonnaise spread, and jalapenos and sriracha (although you can ask for "no heat," so you won't blow out your palette), and then a tofu or meat. My favorites are the lemongrass tofu and BBQ pork. It's like a sweet Hawaiian pork and its always juicy and made to order. I really wish I lived here. Q just added a grilled Asian eggplant banh mi to the menu and it's frickin rad. And pho is off the menu now but a noodle dish is replacing it soon. Oh, and she's also selling these local pork rinds in 100-calorie packs. I had the rosemary and olive oil ones and they were DELICIOUS. Q, the owner, is very loving and friendly, and she's one of the reasons I love going there. I love supporting local restaurants and I especially love to support ones with such rich personality.

    (5)
  • Joy H.

As everyone has mentioned, the reason to go here is Q and her food. Who doesn't want food made with love? Because it's made with love, it doesn't really qualify as fast food. It may take 5 to 10 minutes to get your order. While waiting, you can shoot the breeze with Q or any of the folks who turn up in the shop. When I lived on that side of town, I would go weekly for good conversation and good food.

    (5)
  • Rachel M.

I'm obsessed with the chicken banh mi. I would eat this every day if I could. I haven't tried anything else yet because I love it so much. I prefer to pair it with the roasted coconut juice. Some may not like the chunks of coconut in the juice, but I do. I highly recommend!

  • Remy T.

Being from Seattle, it seems like it is so hard to find good Bahn Mi. This place is spot on. If I lived closer, I'd probably be there everyday. A must try.

  • Jonathan G.

Finally tried the pho and its pretty ridiculous. Watch out for those Thai peppers son!

  • J. J.

So, I just had the worst customer service experience here, which is kind of a shame since We Suki Suki is usually a solid sandwich shop. If Q, the owner, is behind the counter, then I can recommend this place for quick and tasty take-out. If she's not, then be wary: no matter if you're the only customer around, expect up to a twenty minute wait and hipster I-can't-really-be-bothered snottiness. Also, don't pay until you receive your order, because you're gonna want the option to walk as well as not over-tip bad service.

    (2)
  • Alex C.

So the ratios are a bit off for a legit bahn mi. The bread was crusty, but didn't have the nice crunch to it. There simply wasn't enough pickled daikon or carrots, so few I could count them. And there was SO much mayo... but there was a good half pound of meat in there, which was the only redeeming factor. Overall, this place isn't terrible for $5. And the fact that it has no real competitors nearby helps as well. But if this place was on Buford highway, it'd go out of business. Also, don't get the bubble tea. The tea is watered down and the pearls are completely bland.

    (3)
  • Amanda W.

Apparently I had never had a real banh mi before coming here. Q was kind enough to show me what a slightly toasted, fresh baguette and fresh ingredients can do for a wonderful eating experience. I went for the lemongrass chicken banh mi. The flavors were delicious! Next time I'm coming back for the pho, which is more in the home cooked style and cooks all day. Q is also an engaging and entertaining host. I am looking forward to making this a regular stop especially since good Vietnamese food seems hard to find in this town (especially away from Buford Highway).

    (5)
  • Jill K.

So good. Owner is super sweet. Only downfall is that you smell like the place after you leave. But it is worth it for those delicious banh mis!

  • Nicole G.

I LOVE We Suki Suki. Honestly. The banh mi sandwiches I've had here are the best I've ever had. They even beat the ones I've had on Buford Highway. However, they have got to do something about the wait time. If you go in and order at the counter during lunch, it takes a long time to get your order. Whenever I've gone, there has only been one woman working. And while she remained very pleasant, I felt horrible for her because she looked overwhelmed. I know the place is tiny, but seriously get some more help! If you go here, order ahead if you know what you want. The Grilled Lemongrass Sofu Tofu is SO FLAVORFUL, you will savor every last morsel.

  • Marcus Z.

How do I love thee, We Suki Suki? Let me count the ways. 1) You're delicious. 2) You're fresh. 3) You're in a cool part of town so I don't have to drive to Buford Highway for my fix of Banh Mi. 4) Your char siu pork is da bomb! 5) Your bread is so crispy!! 6) You're so cheap! Why not 5 stars? Well, the space is kinda grimy which grosses me out. Also, the sandwiches sometimes have way too much mayo! Other than that, this is a favorite of mine for sure!

This was my first bahn mi - so I don't have anything to compare it to, but the classic was really delish. I also appreciated that Q set it up perfectly for my non-Vietnamese palate- enough sriracha to taste authentic without killing my taste buds. Definitely worth a return visit.

  • Krista H.

Ordered their bbq pork and chicken banh mi today for lunch for my husband and I. He had never tried their food before. HE WAS OVERJOYED with how tasty the banh mi was! He kept saying 'Wow"! We split the sandwiches so he could try both. Love Q, too (the owner). She's so sweet and fun. I definitely recommend We Suki Suki!

Went for the first time today, had the bbq pork bahn mi sandwich. WOW! Absolutely delicious, and something completely different than the usual lunch fare. Next time I'm going either earlier or later to get a seat and will try a few different things, looking forward to going back!

I am a lover of Bahn Mi and in my opinion We Suki Suki in East Atlanta Village has the best Bahn Mi in Atlanta. My favorite part apart from the delicousness is that the owner is always there making sandwiches. The establishment is tiny with only a few tight seats but who cares! We always get our Bahn Mi to go or eat out front on one of the many park benches through E.A.V.

  • M.A. J.

Delicious Bahn Mi and Q the owner is a delight as well. Worth the drive for a tasty healthy lunch.

  • Marta J.

This is a very specialized place: they make mainly banh mi and bubble tea, and they make both things very well. The place is small, and can get packed very quickly; you can eat your sandwich at the counter near the front window, but there is not room for many people. In any case, the visit is worth it! The sandwiches here are delicious (and cheap!) -- the bread is good, the ingredients fresh, and they use a wonderful special mayo that works well with the spicy sauce. (Don't forget to ask them to add jalapenos if you like it spicy.) They have good vegetarian options and are very accommodating with the ingredients since they make your sandwich on the spot. They also make good Vietnamese coffee, and in my last visit the owner told me that they are going to start making their own fresh soy milk. I can't wait to try it!

  • Mac B.

My boyfriend and I get sandwiches here very often and they are always consistently delicious. It isn't the best place for dine-in but on a nice day we like to sit outside on a bench to eat. 5 stars cause the food is great, affordable, and Q is awesome!

  • Lola M.

I've now tried the two most popular sandwiches here: lemongrass and traditional (pork). They are both outstanding but nothing touches the lemongrass! A small bit of heat, a delicate balance of savory sour, the light crunch of the pickles, the balance with bread is just so. All of that for $4. I've got to say that the only thing more badass than the sandwiches here is the proprietor, Q. She took one look at me on my first visit and declared that, like her, I'm a warrior. She is right, my friends. She is right. :) She mentioned at my last visit that she has a new partnership with a sandwich shop from the Decatur market coming soon. She showed me an image of some kind of concoction that featured pork and plantains. It was as beautiful as a newborn babe, I swear to you. I look forward to more of the mad Lucy-ish exploits that Q brings to EAV. Should be fun...and delicious.

I got the classic sandwich and my husband ordered the lemongrass chicken sandwich. I wish we could've tried the BBQ sandwich, but they were out. Our sandwiches were good, but not great compared to other Vietnamese sandwiches we've had outside of Atlanta. However, I did like the classic more than the lemongrass chicken. We also had their Taiwanese bubble milk tea. I've never had Taiwanese milk tea so I don't really have any comparison to make. It was okay. Very light in flavor compared to regular milk tea (made with black tea). However, the drinks came with very little boba and the boba itself didn't taste very good. The texture didn't seem fresh. Q was a very great host. She kept us very entertained while we waited for our order. She seems very passionate about her business. Her business partner seemed very sweet. We enjoyed meeting them both.

Best. Bahn. Mi. I love the staff, I love the food, I love the decor, just stop reading and go eat a sandwhich.

I go here once a week for the tofu banh mi, sometimes I get a little extra love. Q does it up right.

I found We Suki Suki through a friend on Foursquare. Needless to say it was quite good. The first thing i noticed when I entered was the aroma. The only way to describe it is bah mi heaven. The service couldn't have been better. The girl working behind the counter calls everyone "baby" so don't take offense, she's very nice. Now the food, the menu is small, consisting of about five sandwiches and three drinks. Though I try not to eat meat, at times I make an exception and for this place it was worth it. I ordered the Classic Dac Biet which had pork and pate. She asked if I wanted it all the way with sriracha and jalapenos, to which I responded yes. I've had both but not together. The end result: The smell of the sandwich was so good, I ate it on the way home. The combination of the sriacha and jalpenos is not to be passed on. Try it.

Everything about this place is great. The pho is the best in town, hands down, and the owner is such a great gal. She explains her whole cooking process with such love and detail, and her hard work pays off when you taste that beef broth that's been cooking for 18+ hours. Fantastic. Also, the boba tea isn't half bad either! I was really impressed with the whole place.

Great banh mi! In a neighborhood I actually want to go to! The lady behind the counter is crazy energetic and crazy friendly, and also makes a really fine sandwich. I had the tofu banh mi, wherein the tofu itself is tender and delicious, smooshed (as with all the sandwiches here) into a perfect Vietnamese baguette with a soft, crackly exterior. The crack-like mayo, cilantro, and pickled radish/carrot come standard, and you can get it with or without Sriracha and jalapenos. I slightly regret not getting a meaty sandwich, as I suspect they really showcase the owner's skills. (Plus, pate.) I'll be back asap to confirm this. The place itself is appealingly micro--there's barely enough room for 3 people to stand in line inside, and maybe 4 places to sit--and the decor is appealingly wacky and colorful. It suits its product perfectly. I'm delighted this place exists, and will definitely be back.

I visited this location a few times while working in the area this summer. I had the pork bahn mi and it was delicious. The bread was great and the owner was extremely friendly. The bubble tea was also good. if I'm ever in the area I always make sure to stop by. Love it Love it Love it!

The sandwiches here are AMAZING and very reasonably priced. I personally go for the tofu or the chicken banh mi. The ingredients are fresh and combined wonderfully. Do yourself a favor and grab one of their sandwiches! :)

Love, love, love this place. Foods always frech and made when you order, they do specials that run till its all gone ( and they go fast) and the owner, Q, is crazy fun!

I ate at We Suki Suki for the first time today and it was amazing. I'm already thinking about when I can go back. Q is a fabulous host and no one in my group of five was anything other than delighted with the food.

I smelled something really tasty after washing my dog next door. I made a hard u turn to follow the smell into this place. Was I even hungry? Probably not..., but it smelled sooo good. I had never been here, but have had a sandwich or two like this up on Buford Hwy. Honestly, I thought this was better, and the one on B hwy is supposed to be the best. I had the BBQ pork all the way. That sh-t lasted maaaybe 1/2 way, on my 4 mi drive home. For $5, this is one of the best things to happen in East Atl.

My banh mi indulgences have heretofore been limited to relatively infrequent trips to Buford Highway, or even less often to Lee's Bakery in California. How lucky am I that We Suki Suki is now less than three blocks away from my house in EAV? Very. Que and the rest of the staff are awesome and friendly- an attitude that is only outmatched by the food. The tough part is that there is not a hole lot of room besides carry-out and I am afraid that too many 5-star reviews on Yelp will spoil this new culinary treasure with long lines. Have to go...my mouth is watering.

  • Jenn D.

The first time we visited We Suki Suki the following things happened: 1) I didn't believe that was really the name, but believed once we got to the store front. It's easier to spot by the "Buford Hwy EAV" sign at the top of the building. 2) I ordered a tofu banh mi and Hubby D ordered a traditional. Also, coconut juice from the coconut. 3) Hubby D took a bite of my sandwich and immediately wrapped up his traditional to take home and ordered another lemongrass tofu sandwich. Yes, they are that good. 4) We vowed to come back the next weekend and we did. Other things you should know: 1) The store is tiny, so be prepared to eat outdoors or get your food to go. There's not a lot of seating outside and it's shared with the store next door. 2) The owner is awesome and super friendly and chatty. 3) If you're first in line you may not be served first, the banh mi (s) are cooked up in batches depending on how easy they are to get out the door and how many of what have been ordered. 4) Don't forget to pay! (Also in batches.) It's a great experience, great food, crazy atmosphere, and good prices for the location.

OK so this place is very unique. I will start off by saying I think the sandwiches are very tasty. I like the eggplant one. Get the seasonal drink they have, I have been pretty pleased with them. My biggest complaint is I wish they had some sort of side besides the chips. That's it. Everyone go try it. The girls there are really nice and fun. And m sure soon I will change this to a fancy give start review while eating some tasty side the very energetic and inventive chef has to offer.

TINY lil hole in the wall joint, great sammies, super cheap. Perfect for EAV! If you closed down the Earl or passed out at Mary's (not recommended btw!) the night before and are in need of a handful of Tylenol and a lil salty savory treat to treat your hangover, you could do a LOT worse than paying Q a visit. If there is any one thing that could be improved on it's the bread - at times a bit blah - but, hey, you're getting some REALLY good Vietnamese sandwiches right here in EAV and for $4. Highly recommend!

  • Emily B.

I love this place so much. We live around the corner and the BBQ pork banh mi is so to die for that it seems criminal to charge only $5. I get it "all the way" with sriracha and jalapenos and it's never been less than 100% perfect. The owner is amazing, the place is small but inviting, and this is the only sandwich I know of in EAV that has all of the flavors of the world combined into one. 4 of 5 because it is absolutely devastating that they are only open 11-5 in the fall. DEV-astating.

Been here a couple of times and the owner already knows my name. Hubby stopped by today to pick me up a tofu banh mi to coax me to eat because I was under the weather. Q told him she'd make it with extra love and tofu because I felt sick. The tofu held just the right bit of firmness and softness. Bread was soft. Lemongrass was fresh. I wasn't very hungry, but I scarfed down the whole sandwich just the same. Yes, you can taste the love. Hubby also bought me some iced bubble coffee, which is good for what it is, but I think it's chicory coffee, which isn't my favorite. Also, I like the tapioca a little more firm. Easier to suck up through the straw that way. This, however, is a minor issue. I just happen to be picky about my bubble tea/coffee. As others have said, the store is tiny. Seating is scarce. Sometimes Q is the only one behind the counter, s you might have to wait. But Q makes it worthwhile. It's fun to just watch her. And I like that this restaurant a hole in the wall. Very EAV.

I met up with the lovely Vanessa T. for an early dinner here a few weeks ago. I accidentally arrived an hour early, so I got to have a long talk with Q, the owner. Q is a charming and *very* energetic woman, so you might want to look elsewhere for a sandwich if you're not feeling particularly chatty. I got the dac biet, which was some serious happy mouth time and may send me to Buford Highway proper for some Vietnamese cold cuts. The prices are very reasonable, but I kind of wish they had more space and served beer so I could sit at a table with a bunch of folks and share sandwich bites.

Food is fresh & full flavors from Q's native land. She's so sweet too. I had the BBQ Pork Báhn Mi & Vietnamese Milk Tea. Have to go back for another visit.

Best sandwiches in East Atlanta. Fresh veggies, crusty bread at a great price! This place is very specialized, but why mess with greatness? Get the traditional pork or the barbecue. Then come back! I love this place!

I ate here by chance this past weekend. I wanted to go back to The Elder Tree for brunch after swinging by briefly during a pub crawl, but when I showed up at 11 am in the Village, I didn't realize 95% of the businesses don't open until noon on a Saturday, (God punishing me for not staying out later on a Friday night). So I started walking down the block and my when my girlfriend mentioned she had recently read an article about We SUki Suki in a local rag, so we decided to try it out. We spilt two sandwiches, a tea and a coffee for lunch. The first thing you have to mention when reviewing this place is the the owner Q, she is a whirlwind of activity and chatter akin to a Midwestern tornado. Her children help out and they are cute and friendly. The prices are very reasonable and the tapioca balls in the coffee (you have to ask it for that way, they usually only come in the tea) is a wonderful treat. To Recap: The Good: The sandwiches are unique and modestly priced. The drinks are great, especially the coffee and the little treat she gives you at the end, packs a sweet punch. The Bad: One sandwich will not fill you up, be prepared to order at least two. The signage needs a little work. The store has a small footprint and the window has a lot going on in it, the place is easy to miss. The Band This Restaurant Most Resembles: Gwen Stefani. Seriously, Q is a force of a nature!

I was confused, I definitely spent a few minutes looking for BUHIEAV on yelp. its what the sign above the door said, maybe i'm thick-headed.. I enjoyed the sandwich, however, I should've gotten grilled pork. Its an ok deal, $4.50 for a sandwich, i'm sure they need to charge more than the actual Bu-hi, with it being a new business and all that. It was pretty nice, the day we went it happened to be Memorial day, so thank you to places that stay open on holidays. There were a few tables outside, pretty tiny and basic, but functional, along with a bench next to the wall. Of course I met the famous "Q", and watched for a little bit as she flew around and got an awkward attempt to get hit on by my friend. It seems to have a limited menu, but i'm glad to know there's something in town if I have an itch for their food.

I enjoy the vegetarian sandwiches and my signature drink called the "JAHEED" (ask for it by name) which consists of juiced pineapples, cucumbers, coconut water, and carrots... It's a great way to kick off your day. A special thanks to "Q" for bringing a little Buford Highway Vietnamese flavor to East Atlanta Village.

This is the epitome of fast Asian cuisine. People popped in and out for boba during our order. We tried the classic sub (Dac Biet) and BBQ Pork (Char Siu). Both delicious treats! The worker on Sunday morning was super sweet and I would definitely visit again.

There's nothing to not like about this cute little hole in the wall. Banh mi-tasty, hearty and delicious- right in East Atlanta? Yes please. They are pricier, $5, than Buford Highway but hey you don't have to drive all the way there. I like that you can choose between tofu, pork or chicken. The fact that there are only the 3 banh mi sandwiches and a few drinks on the menu means that they have their sandwiches down to an art and do what they do WELL. Que, the staff there, is so full of energy and excitement it's hard to not feel happy and exuberant right along with her. She made me laugh when she asked if I wanted my banh mi "fully dressed" with everything on it. The bubble tea is good (not fab), and there is only one flavor and that's the Vietnamese Chickory Coffee. I usually get my kitty food and things next door and come here to pick up a sandwich. As Sean C said there isn't much seating inside so get it to go. Last time I was in the whole place was really smoky and Que said it was because of the way the fans blow the air, but it wasn't that big of a deal to me if I'm just in there for carryout. I usually get parking on the street if it's not a weekend and on weekends there is a lot in front of the restaurant and I think one behind but I haven't ventured to find it yet. Yum!

Sandwiches are very good, just as good as anything on Buford Hwy. Downside is the space is incredibly small and the woman/owner behind the counter definitely has not worked out all the kinks yet. Things were realllly slow and it was the first day for the other employee, I'll come back in a month or two when things are straightened out.

mmmm. just thinking about this place is making me hungry. I am obsessed with the tofu banh mi. definitely get it all the way (with siracha & jalapenos). so good! I wish they were open later so I could grab a sandwich on my way home from work, but unfortunately I am limited to the weekend for now.

I had an excellent banh mi with tofu from We Suki Suki today. They just opened 4 days ago. Quantity and quality of food is outstanding for the price. Also, the bread is awesome. This is comparable to the banh mi I had at Lee's Bakery on Buford highway yesterday. The owner puts a lot of love and perfection into these sandwiches. Go check this place out!

  • Scott F.

Absolutely excellent! Such simple, healthy, and delicious ingredients. Every Banh Mi is crafted with great care. I can't wait to get another. The bubble tea is also quite nice! The location is one of the tiniest restaurants I've ever seen, but there are benches outside if all of the four seats are taken. It's definately worth the trip, AND the wait if it's busy.

Tried banh mi for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious. The bubble tea was good too! There's not a whole lot of variety in the menu, but what they do, they do well.

I am a banh mi superfan. I head to Lee's religiously and have had the sandwich at Vietnamese restaurants around the country. I had also met Q a few years ago. Just never put the two together She is all personality. Like being at Cheers, she knows everybody's name and has excellent conversation. The bread was better than at Lee's when we were there. I've read some other reviews on the bread so it may be inconsistent, but when my boy and I went there it was crusty and soft and delicious. The traditional pork had just the right mix of vegetables and pork and sauce. I highly recommend it. Sure would be nice if there was more on the menu. Bet Q could rock some spring rolls.

I went there for lunch today. The service started out slow with only two people ahead of me. The woman behind the counter seemed a little frazzled then the owner showed up. She whipped everyone in shape and started moving things along. I ordered the lemongrass chicken banh mi and it was absolutely phenomenal. It made up for the first 5-10 minutes where I was contemplating whether to leave or not. They don't really have the system of taking orders and ringing people up yet. Give them some time.

  • Sky D.

The best thing about my experience at We Suki Suki was the owner, Q. She was a very hospitable personality. She informed me and everyone else that she had to let her entire staff go and she was solo today. She kept a cheery and positive attitude during my entire experience. The food was a different story. I ordered the Lemongrass Chicken sandwich and it was okay. I eat Bahn Mi sandwiches on Buford Hwy all the time and this sandwich was below standard. I ordered the Tropical Fruit drink and it was NASTY. It tasted as if something sour was in the drink. I could not even drink it and trashed the entire drink. I wanted to share my concerns with Q, but by the time I left she was busy and I did not want to say anything in front of other customers.

  • Ryan H.

I ate there today for the first time. I had the classic. It was one of the best bahn mi I've ever had. I've eaten Ban Mi ate several places on Buford highway. This is just as good or better.

  • YourFavoriteDonke Y.

So as far as bahn mi's go. I'm not going to say its the best bahn mi ever. It's damn good though and the owner has to be one of the friendliest and most enthusiastic people ever. Really good sandwich + great customer service = five stars. Absolutely no reason to drive to buford highway.

I was so excited when I heard a Vietnamese sandwich shop had opened up a month ago in the East Atlanta Village. Stopped by last Sunday, had the original and the chicken lemon grass...they were even better than the ones I used to buy in Chinatown in Paris growing up. I was not to crazy about the bubble Taiwanese tea, it was tasteless. I felt bad for them, they just opened up a month ago and just got robbed and got their credit card machine stolen, it was bit of an inconvenience to find an ATM to get cash and get the right change, but it was so worthed. What a shame to steal from a little local business like them. Anyhow, 3 days later, I went back and had the tofu sandwich which was also delicious! met the owner who was extremely friendly and funny. Hope they stay for a while. Friendly service, great price and great sandwiches!

  • Thinh N.

Q's sandwiches are legit. For what she is serving, she gets five stars in my book. I'm Vietnamese, so I think I have a little cred. I've been to a national Vietnamese cultural event with a quarter million Vietnamese where every food vendor was serving classic street food to the masses for several days. The banh mi (classic pork) here in this tiny shop is the most memorable I have had to date. The sandwich has that comfortable, accessible street feel, but with passion, edge and flair you just have to bite into to understand. If you have a taste for Vietnamese food, you've found your new favorite banh mi shop.

    (5)
  • Shon L.

I agree the lemongrass chicken is great as others have stated, but the wait can be long. I also think that the owner can be a little frazzled and spoke in a demeaning manner to her employees. While I think it's important to keep the business flowing I think being rude to employees in front of customers isn't the best option. great food, but there is room for improvement...

  • Emily T.

chock full of deliciousness, crunchy vegetables, layers of potted meats you'd rather not look at (that's a good thing), leafy cilantro and doused in bahn-mi condiments. it was just what I was looking for. And I was so relieved for their simple menu! it's just right for a sandwich shop and makes me feel like they know what they're doing.

The lady who runs, cooks, prepares, rings up, and serves your food Is super nice. I tried the chicken sandwich and it was good, it would've been better if I didn't have to eat and drive I will go back again randomly one day and I might try the pork.

Expect a long wait to place your order. It took an hour for me to get a classic with only 6 people in front of me. Sandwich tasted great. The owner spends more time telling her stories than making sandwiches. I hope the owner figures out soon the logistics of making sandwiches quickly so a customer does not have to wait 30 minutes to an hour. Also the store does not take credit card, only cash but you have to make your own change, wrap you own sandwiches, and bag your own sandwich...

Grand opening today and it was great! So many folks from the EAV neighborhood were there, kids were served free ice cream by 4th graders from Wesley International Academy. Vietnamese bahn mis were yumm-o. What a fantabulous addition to our village. Cant wait for bubble tea an fresh soy, soon to be offered too.

Noticed this Bahn Mi shop in the old Village Ice Cream space while leaving a show at the Earl on Saturday and stopped by today to give it a shot. I'm relatively new to Bahn Mi, my only other experience being Lee's on Buford Hwy but I love that place so I was really looking forward to something closer to home. We Suki Suki did not disappoint. The sandwich was more elaborate than the one at Lee's and I'm still not exactly sure what kind of meat was on it but it was delicious! As others have mentioned, the service is a bit slow and disorganized but hopefully they can work that out soon however in the meantime, avoid the place if you're trying to get in and out quickly. I also tried the Boba and flavor-wise it was fine, however it was piping hot and there was not nearly enough ice in it to get it to the proper temperature. I again attribute this to the seemingly new employee so I'll try again once they've worked the kinks out. All in all this place is promising and I am a huge fan of more casual eateries in EAV. If the owners are smart, they will stay open late on weekends to provide food for all the bar hoppers but before they do, they need to be churning out sandwiches like a well-oiled machine.

I've been meaning to try this place for a while now and finally made it over to grab a to-go sandwich. I was not disappointed. I opted for the lemongrass grilled chicken sandwich, which was awesome. The chicken was marinaded very nicely, the bread was perfect, and all the toppings were great. It took about 10 minutes to get my sandwich after ordering because each one is made to order, which is fine with me. Also, you can't beat the price- $5 for a quality sandwich. Infinitely better than what you get for $5 at Subway. Definitely try this place if you live or work near EAV.

We've already eaten their twice since the short time they've been opened! The sandwiches are a great deal for $4. The owner is super sweet. I thought the wait time was reasonable, we had about 4 people in front of us ordering multiple sandwiches and it took 20 minutes to get our food. I love the tofu and my husband loves the pork. This place will definitely be on our regular rotation!

my husband and i stopped in around 3pm last saturday and tried the classic and the lemongrass chicken. it took about 30 minutes to get our sandwiches with 4 people in front of us but it was worth it, 100%. we'll be back! just sometime when we're in less of a hurry.
