Overall, I think the food ranges from OK to great. Where I think this place shines is in their noodle dishes, which are among the better I've had in Thai restaurants in the area. I've had the chance to try several of them (pad thai, pad see-u, etc.), and they have all been stellar. The pad see-u especially is among the best I've had in the area. Where I think the restaurant faulters a bit (at least compared to other Thai restaurants) is in their other dishes. The first time I came here, I had the Duck Curry, listed under the 'Chef Specials' section of the menu ... there was just something off about the dish. The curry sauce itself was all right, but I've certainly had better. And the duck was a bit ... rubbery. I've never quite had duck with this texture before. Overall, the decor is nice, service was friendly enough, and if you order smartly, the food can be quite excellent. Prices were a bit high, but they tend to be in nicer Thai places.

In Atlanta on business and just needed a decent meal that was relatively healthy. Yelp comes through again and turned me on to Top Spice right across the street from the hotel. The Coconut soup was very good, and I really enjoyed the Roti Canai (Malaysian/Indian pancake with dipping sauce. The spicy vegetable entree was massive, moderately spicy, and with the side of brown rice, I had more than I needed, but couldn't help but eat every bite. Best thing I can say? I'd go back again!

Wow, I had no idea there was such hatred for this place until I read some of the other reviews here...but then again, I always order what I know and like so maybe that's why I haven't had any problems. As everyone else has said, the decor is nice but no one really eats here. I live 0.8 miles from this restaurant and have only eaten here twice. Late night take-out is what I come here for 90% of the time. You can safely park in the 15 minute parking spaces because you'll always be in and out before then. As a side note, the food seemed to come out slower when I *did* eat there those two times. As for the food, I only pick from the following: Roti Canai, Chicken Coconut Soup, Masaman Chicken Curry, and Pad Thai (with no peanuts, no onions, extra lime). These dishes always turn out good so I have no reason to take chances on something else. My most common combination for dinner is 1 Roti and 1 Chicken Coconut Soup. That totals $7.69 after tax and it's plenty filling because the soup has a ton of chicken in it. Last note, I tried the Top Spice once on Piedmont ( yelp.com/biz/top-spice-t… ) because it has way better reviews and was sorely disappointed with both my Roti (chewy undercooked dough) and Coconut soup (super watered down). I will be sticking by this location despite the haters =)

I've frequented this place a number of times over the years and I haven't had anything bad to say about the food, service or pricing. ....always seated promptly, either during the lunch rush or dinner ....food is consistent. Pad Thai, Coconut Soup, Seafood Lemongrass soup, chicken lettuce wraps, all taste fresh and satisfying ....wait staff always friendly, keeps your glasses full, sometimes a bit pushy when its time to pay, but hey, you were seated promptly, so get your butt up so someone else may as well :)

Mmm, on the brisk night before the snowpocalypse hit I was craving massaman curry like whoa and I knew Top Spice would fit the bill. Luckily I was right. This place is pretty much identical to the Ansley location, except the dining area is a lot more open. Same great service and great food. They were great about keeping drinks refilled and were super friendly. My massaman was as good as ever, but I wasn't as impressed with my brother's lard na-- it tasted kind of like your typical beef with broccoli you might get at an Americanized Chinese restaurant. Weird. #yep365 13/365

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !! I Love this place. My favorite dish is the Beef Penang Curry. I also like the Red Curry. My bf is a vegetarian, and therefore he orders the veggie fried rice. He likes the kick that the fresh lime adds to the dish (and also the fresh tomatoes). This place by far is the best place to go for Curry! Love it ! (we go here atleast once per month. The service is exception when dining in).

We got take out lunch from this place and it was not a good Thai experience. I have eaten A LOT of thai food and this place is definitely not going on my A list. We got the Pad Kee Meow and Pad Thai. Pad Kee Meow is one of my favorite thai dish, and theirs was SO BLAND!!!! It was simply disgusting that I could not finish eating after a few bites. They must make their Pad Thai with ketchup because I have never seen a red Pad Thai before. It also tasted like ketchup and soy sauce. The only reason I am giving this place a 2 star is because the coconut soup that came with the lunch special was pretty good. It was a mix of coconut flavor and some type of spice. It was a delicious blend. Other than the soup, I will never order a noodle dish from this place in the future.

Please order to go... The food is great, the service is the worse you can ever get.... You can call pick- up your food, drive back home, put your food in a plate and eat, before you can get notice inside this place.....

I really wanted to like this place cause the place is really nice on the inside and the service was excellent... The food however was a different story. Basil rolls took about 30 seconds to get to the table after we ordered which explained the lack of freshness. I'm guessing they were just pulled out of the fridge. Ordered the Penang and was treated to without a doubt the worst squid I have ever eaten... or should I say... tried to eat. I would have had better luck chewing through pieces of my tires than I had with the squid.

I wanted to rate this place because it sadly lacks in service. The food is good in my opinion, but the services I have consistently received from the women who answers the phone and takes takeout orders is crazy. Once I asked for Basil rolls without the pork. When I opened the styrofoam container at home, it looked like the rice rolls had been ripped open and the pork removed. They were impossible to eat without falling apart. This happened a total of two times!!! So...the next time I ordered, I explained to the woman (same woman each time--asked her name a few times, but cannot recall at this moment) how I did not want pork and that the last two times they had been "opened and the pork removed after the fact". And that my preference was to have them "made freshly" without the pork. She explained to me that their cooks would never do something like that. I then explained that I had no reason to LIE about basil rolls and that all I really just wanted them to please make them the way I asked. I also explained that I had taken a picture the second time it happened, so it wasn;t a question about whether she believed me or not! She then proceeded to argue with me about this. I explained that I was the customer and I did not think her attiutude was very customer oriented. She argued some more and then I got so frustrated I hung up. I was very upset because I ordered from there almost once every other week for years and had my favorite dishes. Months passed and I decided to try again. Things went well for a while and then one evening I asked for something special relative to my order. It was not anything out of line or different - just the way something came the time before that I didn't want in that way. Again she started to argue with me. I laughed and asked...."why are you arguing with me about this??? It is a simple request and I am a good customer". She went on and on arguing. I was astounded. I explained that I wished to speak to her manager or the owner. She told me I could not. Again, I hung up and have never been back. If this place would fire that very non-customer service oriented woman, I would come back. Service is the key to keepoing customers. They seriouly lack in service over and over again. I will never go back to the Smyrna, GA location.

I came here for lunch with a coworker and I have to say that I am full and happy. You get a pretty large amount of food for the lunch specials. When they bought out the food I was like "this is a lunch portion"? I have leftovers for dinner tonight. If the portions weren't enough, on top of that you get free soup with your lunch! You can choose from coconut soup or vegetable. I choose the coconut, which is basically a tom-kha gha soup without the chicken, which was fine for me because I think that most Thai places put too much chicken in the soup anyway. I prefer more mushrooms. Anywhoo...I ordered the Pad Thai, and my friend ordered this stir fry dish with cashews. (Pictures attached). I have had better pad thai, but this was still tasty. There was tofu in the Cococut soup, and scallions which I thought was yummy even though I have never had it like that before. I had to order chopped cilantro on the the side because I have always had these two common dishes with cilantro and not scallions, but it was cool because she was happy to bring some out. All in all I am definitely coming back because I enjoyed the quality.

Business trip. Somehow I ended up eating here. 'Pad Thai', spicy, I had. A Mount Everest of mushy rice, a few slices of bland beef and sorry looking overcooked vegetables, drowned in stale and overused(?) cooking oil. Show some mercy to my palate! A generally sad state of affairs. They had an interesting 'Thai' tea, non-alcoholic, which contained condensed milk and it was the highlight of the dinner. So, I guess if I were close by I could swing by for a tea; and skip the food.

The coconut soup was wonderfull. The entties were acceptable. They did not have pad kee mao. Lunch seating on a Tuesday was not bad. Atmosphere was more like dinner then lunch however.

The reviews for this location were favorable. Sadly, the location did not meet expectations. I had the "Pad See U" and the overall flavor was lacking. The chicken was overcooked and tough - still tasting it all hours later. Others in our party had Pad Prik King and Salmon with Red Curry. No one was very impressed. Very typical food. If you are looking for great authentic food - look elsewhere. Perfect for that hotel group or coming out of the mall.

I'm a super boring eater. I eat basic things - pizza, Mexican, Italian and American. I really do not stop outside the box. On a rare occasion I MIGHT eat Chinese food but this is about once every couple of years. I had to hide my cringe when a friend of mine said he REALLY wanted to try Top Spice. I decided to be adventurous and just go with it. It was a Tuesday evening and when were arrived at Top Spice it was just us and one other couple in there. It was actually a little uncomfortable because of how quiet and empty this place was. There were a ton of servers which just didn't make sense considering the lack of clientele. The servers just kind of stood there and stared. Uncomfortable. A few other couples trickled in while we were there and a few folks came in for take out so this did ease the discomfort. Their take out orders were ready almost immediately. Keeping my personal food preferences in mind I ordered a pretty simple dish - Buah Chicken. Basically it's chicken, peppers and mangoes in a sweet and sour sauce. It was quite delicious. I tried my friend's curry and it just wasn't for me...but hey, at least I tried. I will definitely go back to Top Spice and will try to push myself out of my comfort zone a little more.

Ordered takeout, and it couldn't have been any better! Very fast and very tasty food! Spring Rolls are a MUST and the Daging Nyonya is a sweet and sour dish with a HUGE portion of chicken- 2 filets. Three slices of tomatoes, and 3 large slices of cucumbers. The sauce is great and the overall meal was excellent. Will dine here again. Don't forget the Spring Rolls!

I have only had their pineapple fried rice and satay chicken. Both were absolutely delicious! I've been there a few times now for just those items. I have only gotten food to go from them. Have yet to sit there and eat. But the atmosphere inside is really nice and I am looking forward to eating in the restaurant one day. Will comment on the service when I do! :)

Even before I became a full-fledged vegetarian almost a year ago, I was a tofu lover. As such, I have heard of tofu dishes I simply MUST try, and one is the Mango Tofu at a place called Top Spice in the Toco Hills Shopping Center. Though that is my old stomping ground, I am seldom in the area anymore - so, it was with extreme pleasure that I discovered a Top Spice in my neck of the woods! North Atlanta, just on the verge of Smyrna/Marietta, in the Akers Mill Shopping Center (next to a very busy LA Fitness, and a Toys R Us). Oh so excitedly I perused their online menu, only to realize they offer my favorite tofu dish, first eaten at Thai Chili (and ordered many many times for takeout), Tofu Garlic Pepper. As a test, I skipped the idea of the Mango Tofu and went straight for the dish I know and love best, the Tofu Garlic Pepper, in a takeout order to bring home after a long day at work. Also ordered were Thai Spring Rolls and Veggie Tofu Fried Rice. This Top Spice location is brand new, and very beautiful on the inside, with very few diners on the early Tuesday evening when I went - very inviting actually, but I was in a hurry and on my way home. Once home, I did appreciate the large portions, but wished they came in the old fashioned cardboard cartons instead of the non-recyclable plastic containers that so many Asian restaurants use now for takeout. The Spring Rolls were very average, and the dipping sauce a fiery orange color, most unnatural and unappealing with an artificial sweet flavor to match. I would recommend the Spring Rolls with dipping sauce from Bangkok Cabin in Kennesaw over these any day. First disappointment. Second was the Tofu. The traditional light garlic and black pepper sauce has been unnecessarily thickened, perhaps with cornstarch, and the garlic tasted like the jarred roasted garlic you can buy in grocery stores. The tofu in such large pieces it had to be cut. Not a horrible flavor, but comparatively (this is a dish I order at any Thai restaurant, as a gauge), a really unpleasant texture to the sauce. Next was the Fried Rice, also extremely disappointing. Considering it was supposed to be "Veggie and Tofu" Fried Rice, it only had two or three large pieces of tofu on top, with sliced cucumber and tomato on the sides (???), and the only real "veggies" mixed in the rice were peas. The rice itself is infused with a good bit of seasoning, but if I'm paying $8.50 for fried rice with tofu and veggies, I'd not think it too much to expect it to have tofu and veggies throughout. At $2.95 for the two Spring Rolls, a whopping $8.95 for the Tofu Garlic Pepper in the horrid thick sauce with jarred roasted garlic atop, and $8.50 for some rice with peas, I'd say it was a monetary disappointment as well. Since I've not been to the original Toco Hills location, I can't judge the restaurant chain as a whole, and this could be opening week (month?) jitters for the Akers Mill location, but if this is what is to be expected of all the tofu/vegetable dishes at Top Spice, I'll not be returning.

Kind of Lame. Smyrna Vinings doesn't have a lot of great Thai restaurants and this one is on the low end of the list. The Roti Canai has been good when we ordered it. unfortunately not enough bread to sop up the delicious sauce with. Unfortunately the entrees are not nearly as good. We have had Pad Z U where it tasted like the chicken and noodles were burned after a long period of time. Noodles with seafood where some of the seafood was severely undercooked. Service is also not up to snuff. Generally not that great of a restaurant and wouldn't recommend.

Top Spice has a beautiful interior, delicious Thai dishes and outstanding service. I ordered lunch for pickup, with Panang Curry Chicken and a Spicy Vegetable dish with Chicken. Each were nicely spiced, cooked perfectly and the presentation in their plastic clamshell boxes separated a rice area and the main dish. We also received the coconut soup with tofu and mushroom - very creamy with a nice tangy flavor. The dining room was crowded, but not packed at 12:30p on a Thursday. My dish had been phone ordered about 7 minutes before I arrived, and it was waiting for me at the front counter. I was checked out and on my way within 2 minutes. What fantastic service. I'll definitely return to Top Spice! It's sort of hidden in the shadow of Toys-R-Us on Cobb Parkway, so head towards the back of the parking lot to find it.

Ok, so I was going to give this place a much better review until about five minutes ago when I got really, really sick. Seeing as this is the only place I've eaten today, I have to believe something here did me in. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, which tasted fine. It wasn't my favorite version of this dish, but it was more than adequate. It did, however, have some mystery ingredient I couldn't quite figure out. It looked like tofu, but I'm sure it wasn't. Anyway, Top Spice was a nice place with friendly staff and decent tasting food. But after today's incident, I won't be returning. If you decide to try this place in spite of my warning, don't make any plans afterwards. You don't want to be out when what happened to me happens to you.

I came here for a quick lunch with my siblings last time I was in town. We ordered the pad see ew and lard nar. I have to say Top Spice makes THE BEST lard nar I've ever had. The sauce/gravy is magnificent--just the right amount of sweet and savory and the consistency is perfect: somewhat gelatinous but not in a chunky way like old turkey gravy that's been refrigerated. The noodles were also cooked and sauteed perfectly. The portions here are also huge. Definitely a fan of this place, I'll be sure to be back!

  • Jose P.

This place is better than the reviews here... this should be a SOLID 4 star place. I went there for lunch and has the chicken fried rice. The dish itself was not spicy enough and had way too much rice. The fried rice itself wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. It's not "authentic", but very good. The flat noodle dishes look much better. PROS: Prices are very reasonable - most dishes are 8 bucks for lunch. Atmosphere is VERY nice for a 8 buck lunch place Good service CONS: Food is good, but not great. Not spicy enough and seems kinda bland for authentic Thai food.

On one of our many weekend getaways to Atlanta trying to beat the winter blues before they get to us, Bobby & I met up with his sister & brother-in-law who live in this area of Atlanta for some dinner. (She had a coupon, who knew? : ) This being only my 2nd go around with Thia food I must say I was pretty excited about trying out this new place. Especially when I was pretty impressed with my first try at it & I must say...I wasn't disappointed this time either. I say two thumbs up for this trendy little spot that was packed OUT on a Saturday night. I started the night out right with their version of a mojito served in a medium sized goblet then finished it out with a shrimp Curry 5 Thai Hott. PERFECT for me. My B/F however went all the way to the Top with a 10 Thai Hot (before he knew that you could secretly go even higher with a XXX Thai Hot) & was sweating & tearing up the whole way through his meal to end by saying "That was great". As for me & mine I was pretty happy with a 5...good heat & great flavor. I do however love my spice so I might go a little risque' on you all & move up to a 6; I'll keep you posted! ; )

On the positive side, this place looks pretty cool on the inside. There are all these creepy green glowing jars on the wall, I kept looking for one labeled 'abbey normal'. However, the layout is a little funky. My date felt very uncomfortable being seated on this lower platform area surrounded by higher level booths. She gets a lot of attention anyways and placing her in the middle of a bunch of middle age unlookers is not what I call an intimate date. We were seated so damn close to the next table, I couldn't even scoot my chair back to leave without nearly bumping the next couple. Serious points off here. The food? Well, we liked our basil rolls alright. The rest of the meal tasted decent enough, but was probably the saltiest food I've had in ages. I felt like I had just eaten an extra large movie popcorn after leaving that place. And to be fair, basil rolls are really hard to totally screw up.

Is it just this location that's bad? After hearing good things about this restaurant, I decided to try it. Upon entering, I was really impressed with the feel of the place. However, once we started eating, we were not as impressed. 1) Roti Canai - sub par 2) Basil Rolls - really sub par 3) Clay Pot Angel Noodles - awful 4) Fried Rice with Beef - a little above awful The fried rice was drenched in soy sauce it was so salty we downed 3 glasses of water. We then asked for a to go boxed and asked them to only pack the fried rice. When I got home and saw they packed the clay pot angel noodles too, I wanted to stab myself in the eye. It was horrible horrible horrible. Oh and this place is slightly more expensive than other thai/malaysian restaurants. You're better off spending your money at Penang or somewhere else.

Either something is very wrong with the pork they use, or they gave me tofu versions of 3 different pork dishes accidentally. Had to throw it all away. A waste of $86. If you get this food from a delivery service, check it.

Top spice in Vinings puts out quality fare at reasonable prices that will satisfy most urges. They also have great specials and noodle dishes. I had the flounder with chili sauce on Monday and it was awesome. Perfectly breaded and fried with just enough spice to make me sweat, but keep my collar dry! It's a little hard to find tucked behind the Toys R Us off of CobbPkwy and sometimes parking can be a challenege due to its neighboor the US Postal Service, but it is definitley worth the adventure

Went there again for last Friday.. this time it was for dinner.. the dining hall was half full.. ordered my favorite Red Curry.. creamy and sweet without being too over-bearing or thick ... tried their spring roll, crispy and not too oily.. I did not like the basil roll though since it had pork in it.. not much of a pork fan... they brought out a complimentary dessert with a candle on it for my cousin who was celebrating her birthday.. overall a good dinner experience ..

It's the worst. Terrible service. Takes FOREVER!!! My food never came and they wouldn't give me my money back when I asked for it. He wouldn't call the driver to see how much longer it would take and he was very rude. He actually started yelling at me for wanting my money back after 2 hours of waiting and still no food delivered. Just a terrible experience all together.

If you like Thai food, this place is awesome. If you don't like Thai food, this place may change your mind. The food is expertly prepared, consistently delicious, and the curry is out of this world. Very relaxed atmosphere and a great place to slow down for a freat meal. The takeout is great too.

Top Spice is one of my favorite places for Thai food. I've dined at the Midtown and Toco Hills locations, and felt confident in choosing the Cobb Pkwy location for a pre-show dinner. And they didn't disappoint. The selections demonstrate quality and variety, with just the right amount of heat. Tonight I had the Prik Khing Tofu and it was delicious. My friend had the Spicy Basil Leaves with Tofu. Both dishes had heat, but totally different flavors. I wish I could've finished mine, but we also had spring rolls and I was stuffed halfway through my entree.

For some odd reason I was craving Thai food last night, and since I didn't have time to make the trip to Surin or Harry and Sons, Top Spice seemed like the closest alternative. I ordered something what I thought was similar to Surin's Spicy Beef Salad (Larb Beef Salad), but it turned out it was the do-it-yourself cabbage wraps. Darnit. The price was decent, around $7.25 but after I added on a side of rice my total was a little over $9. The meat in the dish was really nicely flavored, with rice powder, onion, lime juice, and ground chili. I just wish I could have had it served with romaine lettuce. Next time I will ask for that. I ended up taking the cabbage home and sauteing it myself. That being said, I did get good service and once I told the waiter my name he kept using it every time he addressed me which is a great tactic for making people feeling special :) The restaurant itself has a great classy, calm, romantic atmosphere. I would definitely revisit.

I'm not a foodie or an expert on Thai cuisine or anything but I've got to say this was some of the best Thai food I've had in quite some time. I wanted to try everything on the menu but limited myself to the standards. The table started with the fresh basil rolls and chicken coconut soup. I can't stop thinking about that soup. It was so perfect. Not overly sweet or spicy. Very well balanced. For the main entrees the table chose Veggie Fried Rice, Pad Thai, and Red Curry Chicken. We all plan on going back to try some more exotic dishes but this first visit we wanted to try the standard Thai dishes. I have to say that the Pad Thai and Chicken Red Curry where the best I've ever had. Veggie Fried Rice is pretty impossible to mess so no need to heap praises on that dish. Although I've definitely had bad Pad Thai and Red Curry Chicken so I have to make sure and mention how good it was. This place is not necessarily located in some hip part of Atlanta and it's part of your normal looking pop up outdoor strip mall but please don't let that deter you. Go here. It will not let you down.

Very nice ambience...soft music..nice decor..great food! Went Thursday evening for on double date night (my sister and I) and our spouses...large portions..enjoyed the Chef Recommendation Malaysian special with Shrimp, scallops, chicken in lemongrass sauce with bell peppers and onions topped the cashew nuts..very delicious! Everyone said their meals tasted great..the waitress had a sense of humor...food prepared with a decent turnaround time, hot and fresh...we will definitely go back!

I've been to Top Spice a few times now, and tried a number of dishes from their menu. At this point, I think "A-OK" is the best way to sum up my feelings for the restaurant. I never really think about it unless I'm meeting up with my friend, Edward L., who lives nearby, but whenever we decide to make it our meetup joint, we're both happy with the food and the service (I have one small gripe about the service, coming later.) If you're in the mood for a cocktail and like your beverages on the girly side, I recommend trying the TY-tini. TY is an Asian citrus liquer that Top Spice has incorporated into a number of drinks. Their TY-tini is blended with premium vodka, dark rum, and pineapple juice - absolutely devine, a little on the sweet side but I'm not complaining. However, it's a small drink at about 4 or 5 oz. and runs a cool $9, so try to force yourself to savor it. If you're in the mood to split an appetizer, the Thai Spring Rolls are a nice choice. You'll get two rolls already cut into two bites each and served with a nice plum sauce. It's enough to tide you over while you wait for the main dish, but it's also very light and not at all greasy, like fried spring and egg rolls can be at lesser establishments. My stand-by dish here is the spicy basil chicken. Despite the name, it isn't terribly spicy, at least not by Thai standards. I also recommend the mixed veggies with shrimp - it's delicious, and should work for people who are super sensitive for spice and find the basil dish too much for their delicate palates. There are a number of other dishes here that focus on veggies and lean proteins stir fried with light sauces, so it's one of the few diet-friendly restaurants. I don't recommend the masaman curry, though - it's one of my all-time favorite Malaysian dishes and usually the first thing I try when I see it on a menu, but I wasn't at all impressed by Top Spice's version, which was kind of soupy and bland. It looks like I tried the Pad Thai here once (at least I uploaded a pic of it) but I cannot remember eating it at all, which tells me it was perfectly forgettable. Overall, I recommend sticking with the veggie/protein/sauce entrees, which have all been yummy. I did splurge last time and ordered the $25.95 honey butter lobster. I'd been eyeing it the last several times and finally WENT FOR IT. It was worth going for! The lobster tasted fresh, not frozen, and was lightly battered. Served with a thick honey butter the consistency of whipped butter and plenty of al dente steamed broccoli, it was a PERFECT companion to the TY-tini!

I was driving back from Ohio to Orlando that weekend -rather moving back to Florida. On the way I stayed in Atlanta, GA Hi They were super quick, nice . The guy who does like similar to hostess- was most helpful. he brought Water with no ice, even without me asking. This is ever time i was there. I was shocked. Pretty sharp..he is in his 20s i guess.. Girl who serves i think, she also serves different ethnic and she is quick to understand i take Veggie fried rice. She brought 1 spring rolll, 1, Spicy Fr riced Veggie, all this in no time. I cannot say more for the good service. Amazing people. Good work This all happened on 04/25/2015 - April 25'2015 09:42 PM Eastern 21:42 PM eastern Table : 4 40041 Table :4 Guest 1 Sale number 448816 good work. i would recommend

Probably my favorite go-to for lunch b/c I love their salads, it's close to work, service is good, prices are reasonable and finding parking is easy. Lunch prices are $7.95 - $8.95, and hot dishes incl. complimentary vegetable or coconut soup (both soups are good). I've had better luck w/ the salads - the hot dishes are just ok to me. My two very favorite salads- the Pla Krung Salad and the Glass Noodle Salad. The flavors are bold, tasty and I think addicting b/c hours later you will crave it again and you will want more. PLA KRUNG - $8.95 Grilled shrimp cooked w/ traditional style lemongrass dressing, and served on romaine lettuce. The shrimp is good, there's a good amount of romaine lettuce -- and the dressing is what makes the salad so yummy. The dressing is spicy too so heads-up! GLASS NOODLE SALAD - $8.95 Steamed glass noodles and shrimp, seasoned w/ red onion, grape tomatoes, lime juice, chili and minced pork. This salad is so good too - flavors are similar to Pla Krung except you also get the glass noodles and pork, but minus romaine lettuce. It's a toss-up which salad I love better :) CHICKEN LARB - $7.50 So good. And great portion for lunch and enough cabbage that I didn't have to ask for seconds. Flavor is very similar to the Glass Noodle Salad. Also I feel a little more healthy eating this one b/c of the cabbage :) SQUID SALAD - $8.25 Just ok. Salad has poached squid w/ onion, lime juice, ground chili and served on romaine lettuce. Lettuce pieces were little, and flavors are similar to the Glass Noodle Salad except this one has squid instead of pork and no noodles. ROTI CANAI - $4.50 Good appetizer. This is the Malaysian Indian pancakes served w/ chicken & potato curry dipping sauce. LARB CHICKEN - $7.50 Sampled my friend's larb and it's got very good flavor. SPICY BASIL CHICKEN - $7.95 Not spicy but great flavor. Probably the only thing I like on the hot entrees menu. FRESH BASIL ROLLS - $4.50 for 2 small rolls Disappointing. Filler is mostly vermicelli noodles - one thin pork slice, 1 basil leaf. Messy to eat and falls apart. Dipping sauce is runny and doesn't have the nice rich nutty flavor. PAD SEE EW - $7.95 Your standard pad see ew with the flat noodles and broccoli - I added chicken. Initially tasted good but then it got boring. At least I had enough leftovers for a 2nd meal. I wouldn't get it again. PENANG CHAR KWAY TEOW - $8.50 This is the Malaysian famous stir-fried noodle w/ shrimp, squid, bean sprouts, egg, soy sauce & chili. It tasted good at first but like the Pad See Ew, it got bland. I wouldn't get this again either. PENANG CHICKEN - $7.95 Just ok and not spicy at all - I thought penang curry was supposed to be spicy. Cooked w/ basil leaves & bell peppers. I wouldn't get this again. Overall great lunch option in the Cumberland/Galleria area. Highly recommend the Pla Krung or Glass Noodle Salad. Restaurant is busy during lunch but you can usu. find a table. FYI - they're located caddy corner to LA Fitness, and right next to the U.S. Post Office.

A group of Eight of us dined in here. Good ambiance, friendly staff and great service. The food was good but I wasn't WOWed! Even though we ordered super super spicy, it wasn't spicy at all. Will I visit this place again? Probably!

Top spic has the best shrimp dumplings ever! My boyfriend took me here on our first date, and even though I don't stay in Atlanta anymore whenever I come home it's the go to spot. The atmosphere is so clean and welcoming with soft music playing in the background. There is no Thai place in Houston that even comes close to Top Spice. I get the spicy veggies with steamed rice ; and the amount of spice is just good enough! If you're looking for real good, easy going service at a speedy place Thai food then it's definitely the place

An A-ok /e.oke/ is both a saying, derived from okay, and a hand-gesture done by connecting the thumb and forefinger into a circle (the O), and holding the other fingers straight or relaxed in the air. Wikipedia Top Spice is A-ok. Probably not my first pick in Thai, but in this case it's location, location, location. Top Spice is very close to Cobb Energy Center, so if the plan is dinner and a performance, Top Spice definitely fits the bill. Food is always good, service is okay for the most part. The atmosphere is conducive to a good night on the town. I usually go with the standard Pad Thai, the Mango Tofu is a great vegetarian entree option. e.oke

Yes. I agree this location does not have the quality control as the Toco Hills location. Everything is great there. I never had any complaints. Until they decide to get on par, I highly recommend you go to the Decatur, Toco Hills location. It's a shame because if they were the same, I'd be there at least 2 times a week maybe more. Come on, please.

I was in town and looking for a good Thai food restaurant and most of them were closed on Sunday until 5. I was lucky to have found this place and decided to try it. Everything was absolutely delicious. They exceed my expectations and provided great service. The food is authentic and made right. It's a nice place inside as well.

I love thai food, BUT this place misses the mark. I started eating here's a few years ago but the quality is really starting to slip. Tonight was the 2nd time I ordered takeout Pad See U and found onion and garlic skins in almost every bite. When I called to alert the establishment, I was told by the woman answering the phone that this was NORMAL and that I should request no garlic next time. (This was the second occurrence of onion/garlic skin in the food, which I also told her) Not, sorry? Or is there a way I can rectify this? Nope. Just an argumentative employee with disregard to quality. When did it become acceptable to cook onion skins in food? Oh yeah, it didn't.

This place is definitely just ok. I don't think it has some of the better flavors like some of the other Thai restaurants in the area. The interior is nicely decorated and has a nice chill vibe. I ordered the Pad Thai and really didn't care for it. It wasn't like the Pad Thai that I'm use to eating and I felt that it was missing that peanuty sauce flavor. The sauce was more of a red/tomatoey sauce..again, wasn't what I was expecting. Our lunch entree also came with a coconut soup. It was not good..watered down almost with no flavor. Very disappointing. Siam Square has the best coconut soup I've had. All in all, a decent Thai restaurant, but I probably won't return.

Exceptional meal with great service. I ordered Spicy Basil Chicken and found the quality and taste of food to be some of the best I every had. Very flavorful and smooth. My wife had a mixed vegable with shrimp. Her thoughts were the same. The ambience was perfect. Nice decor and warm staff. I will be back.

Love it here. Warm and welcoming service - ask for Sue as a waitress. She's wonderful. Very good appetizers. The spring rolls and shrimp dumplings are our favorites. Good, solid thick curries. Really delicious food. But my favorite dish is the Spicy Veggie Tofu. Great Flavors. Another fantastic dish is the Garlic Pepper Tofu. It comes in a thick, garlic gravy that is to die for. Word-to-the wise however - this is one if those Thai places where spicy means spicy/very hot. So if you like heat but not burn-the-house down heat then get it mild or medium. Hot will blow your tush off. And save room for their special dessert - it's worth it, trust me. It's their peanut, coconut crepe with coconut ice cream. FANTASTIC. My new favorite dessert in Atlanta Metro. Get it.

I'm a regular here for lunch. This place is good for people looking for a wallet friendly Thai meal. Most lunch entrees are just under $10 which comes with your choice of coconut or vegetable soup. The service is friendly and quick and food is on point. My favorites are the Pad Thai and Daging Nyonya chicken.

Lunch service was great. Servers are efficient and friendly. Unfortunately after two attempts to rave over the food, I haven't been that impressed. The shrimp fried rice is good but I feel like that isn't enough to earn my 4 stars.

So, I have visited this restaurant about 3-4 times now and it was delicious every single time. The menu is different from lunch to dinner hours. The lunch menu has a great selection as I can vouch for the following choice items: coconut soup and vegetable soup with Jasmine rice, spicy basil leaf with choice meat ranging in (chicken, beef, pork) , panang curry, broccoli mushroom, daging nyonya, and the beef rendang. One of my favorite dishes is the daging nyonya. This dish offers a choice of chicken or pork. I'm not a pork fan so I usually opt for the chicken. It is a deep fried and marinated chicken breast or pork loin that is served with pineapple with tomato and sweet and sour sauce. I love crispy tender meat with thick savory sauce- hence this is my cup of tea! Salty and sweet always accompany each other as well, so no complaints here. Next highlight is the beef rendang. It's a beef tenderloin that you can tell has been slow cooked in ground onion but it doesn't overpower the meat. I also noticed chili with lemon grass topped off with coconut curry. Btw, it's a little spicy but just a hint! Not one entree was over 10 dollars before tax anyways so it's a pretty good deal!

Keep an eye on your credit card statement for what the waiters have posted with the tip. I was there for dinner one time and posted a tip of 18%. The server charged a dollar more on my card. I complained this to the restaurant owner and didn't make a big deal as it was just a dollar. The next time I was there and it happened again and this time waiter posted couple of more dollars more on my card.

Top Spice has easily become my favorite Thai restaurant in Vinings. In fact, I think I am going to make it a thing to come here every Monday. I only dine-in here once which was just an "ok" experience. Seating can be limited and a little close to the other customers. Regardless, the food was still good. I would actually recommend ordering To-Go. They have your food finished in 10 minutes, which is awesome and it's just as delicious (I think better). My favorite dish on the menu is their Spicy Basil Chicken. It's to die for. Oh and they have a lot of vegetarian options for those who don't eat meat. Great place to eat at.

Really great Malaysian food here. I ordered Roti Canai and Chicken Rendang (spice level : 3 out of 5) and it was delicious. The quantity was huge and prices were reasonable. The entrees come with rice included. They even had Thai food which my friends ordered which was delicious. They ordered the spring rolls and rice spring rolls which were both great. The ambience was good, service was good and food delicious - 4 stars!

Love the Spicy Basil Leaves Chicken and Coconut Soup. Its my favorite Thai dish and I get wherever I go and compare one place to another and often I will find several that are very good and each with their own version/take on the dish. Top Spice is very good with great food quality, good service, and really nice atmosphere. Definitely Recommend and I eat there about once a month

Good: pad Thai is tasty. Spicy basil squid is flavorful. Customer service is good most of times. Good ambiance. Bad: sometimes lunch doesn't taste as good if it gets too busy. Conclusion: I'll go back when in the mood for Thai!

Here for lunch with three workmates, we arrived just at the peak time. But one of them comes here often and had called ahead for a table so we didn't have to wait too long. And it's a good thing we didn't wait because this is food you want in your belly! With the lunch, comes a soup. Hard to choose between the vegetable and the coconut. I had the coconut and it was awesome! With it, a spicy Thai noodles platter with beef and broccoli. Delicious. Prices for lunch time are reasonable - about $11 with a drink and tip. Parking is a challenge as it's a busy shopping plaza with a post office and a fitness center.

The first time I visited Top Spice, I was very impressed. This time however, it was the total opposite. My wife had the chicken Daging Nyonya (basically fried chicken). The chicken was served atop a mound of iceberg lettuce, wit what seemed to be some canned pineapples on the side, sliced tomatoes, and sliced cucumber. It also had a sweet and sour dipping sauce on the side. Visually it was lacking. It looked like a chicken breast like the kind I would get a chick fil a. Definitely not a $9 plate. I ordered the Spicy Squid. I am on a diet so asked for the rice to be replaced by vegetables. When I asked for it to be replaced, the waitress have me attitude and said it could not be done. Then before she leaves she blurts out that she can do it for $2 extra. Shouldn't that have been her first suggestion?? I got the food, and it was ok. The basil sauce was nice, but the squid was pretty flavorless. The dish overall was ok flavor wise, but the portion was small. It was not worth the 10.50 I paid. Service was not very courteous. We were treated very blandly and as if they were in a rush. When it was time to pay out bill, our card was rung up and then without breaking stride, was just about thrown onto the table next to me. No "thank you for eating here", "have a nice day", nothing to express gratitude for us spending our lunch hour in their restaurant. Sadly, we will likely not return to Top Spice. I can't justify spending money in their restaurant if the service and the food are not consistent.

My date and I were really disappointed in this place. The roti was gummy, my Tom Yum Ghum soup was bland, and we had to send a dish back that tasted scorched. Our waitress was gone for long periods, at one point spending nearly 10 minutes talking with another table as we tried to get her attention. We did dine late that eve and chalked it up to staff being tired and wanting to go home, nonetheless there was nothing remotely redeeming to motivate us to give it a second chance.

The restaurant looks great. I go to their other location and is awesome. 1 star because the waiters have an attitude like they don't care for your business. This happened to us second time. This visit we were trying to order appetizer. I've been a restaurant owner so I know how vegetable samosa are made. So I was trying to get some information and this was the waitress's statement "I DONT MAKE IT, THEY MAKE IT IN THE KITCHEN" (very rudely). I guess everyone knows the food at the restaurant is made in kitchen. I would not recommend the restaurant. There are other nice places in the area (in the mall & in the Kroger plaza) So avoid the place if you can.

First time and I did a to-go order. The Pad Thai was all bad; I forced myself to eat what I did eat and tossed the rest...and the rest was most of it. We'll end this on a positive note. The spring rolls were absolutely delicious! The Thai iced tea was...well, Thai iced tea. The lady I dealt with at the front was extremely friendly. I will give this place another try and give the curry a go..

I'm new to the Atlanta/Smyrna area and my wife and I wanted to find a new favorite Thai restaurant...AND WE FOUND IT. Loved, loved, loved the food from Top Spice and honestly the service was really fantastic as well. (I think when customer service absolutely exceeds expectations, it really makes the dining experience memorable). Our favorite entree that we tried was the Pad See-U (stir-fried wide flat noodles with egg, broccoli and soy sauce, we added chicken and it was delicious). (ADDED BONUS: delivery was super fast and easy, we will definitely be back soon.)

Very nice Decor in side. Bathroom is clean. Classical music playing - Staff help me identify what I want. I always want a wide noodle dish or a curry dish. Having the seafood wide noodle dish with basil sauce and vegetables. Spicy scale 1-5 I'm playing it safe and respond with 1 1/2 GREAT, GREAT GREST FOOD !!!!

I've always been a fan of this place. I've been ordering delivery from them for years and the food is always consistent. My favorite is the Massaman Curry though they have a very extensive menu. The prices are reasonable and the delivery is fast. I will continue to order from them as long as they are around.

Great place and good food !! Love their Roti canal and its the best I ever had ever. Lovely ambience. They have their special taste unlike other Thai restaurants. Arrangement is beautiful. Especially they have their spices framed in the dining table which is kind of cool. Now to the downside I felt is the serving and neatness of the water glasses. Serving is bit lousy and I always feel they dont even smile at you when they take orders and serve. Seems to be serious and bit calm. Secondly the glasses smells very bad. Dont know why. I have checked every glasses of water they have given us to my fiends also. I means its not that horrible. But yeah if you notice like me definitely you wont have it. That's the downside I would say. Also the water server is accurate as she comes every minute when we take a sip and refill it which is kind of annoying. leave all this mess the food is tasty I would say. Once in a while a must visit place. Recommend to all who love Thai cuisine !!

This place is good but they get PACKED for lunch during the week so it isn't exactly a quick lunch spot like Siam Square. I still prefer Siam to this since the wait is long, staff is medium friendly and the food is good but not great.

The title sounds like a low-rent law firm doesn't it. Since this is close to the office we decided to visit. Not my first visit but first review. The restaurant is located in a stripmall but not a massive sprawling one and it's not that bad: there is no nail salon, beauty supply, or dollar tree in said stripmall. The atmosphere is pretty nice it's casual but not too casual. That doesn't stop adults from wearing shorts in a restaurant....that's not near any water lake, river or otherwise. Grow up people and dress like you make important decisions in life. Service was solid, quick, efficient, and allowed you to enjoy your food and company while giving you space. I liked that aspect. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it. Really, you could share any one of their entrees. I had the catfish and was pleasantly surprised. I knew it would be good but it was more in the great category. I recommend checking it out.

I can't complain, it's some of the best Asian food in the area that you can carry out or deliver during business lunch hours. When I'm craving some Asian food near the galleria that isn't PF Chang's (which is way overpriced), I come here. The beef rendang is good, as is the basil fried rice. Be careful about eating in, their service is pretty sloooow.

Excellent Thai. I had the chicken red curry and it was very rich and spicy. To my knowledge this is more authentic than most. It's not light and sweet for us Americans, it was bold. Best part? The delivered to my hotel at 9pm!

No.....no no no!! I'm mad as hell that I ate here. I never had Pad Thai that taste like water. Let me give then this...the decor is nice. I feel that some of the seating is a tad bit too close for comfort. I think the table design is really cool since it has herbs n spices embedded in it. The Roti Canai is good. Great appetizer. But that Pad Thai? No. First of all...I don't want my PT to look like damn soup. Never seen so much sauce in it...then it had no type of flavor! I was mad as hell. They will never see my face again

Well I was gonna give it 2 stars bc the Phad Thai was red sauce and I greatly dislike red sauce Phad Thai. However it was very good even though made with red sauce. So I was going to give it 3 stars. Then I ordered a whiskey ginger and the guy poured a measured shot of Jameson and looked at it, shrugged his shoulders and dumped a bunch more in and topped it off with some ginger ale... Now they got 4 stars! Then I'm about to head out when the waiter gave me a free mojito because he made one too many and just gave it to me free of charge!!!... Guess what; 5 Stars now!!! In summary: No brown peanut sauce Phad Thai ** Strong drinks ***** Good bar selection **** Contemporary piano music ***** Solid Thai iced tea **** FREE DRINK WTF ********** Yeah I'll give 5 stars for sure

We went there yesterday with our family. I was pleasantly surprised with the inside of the restaurant - it was way nicer than I expected. We ordered cocktails and the lettuce wrap for the appetizer. The drinks were big and strong and the appetizer was amazing. For the main I ordered mango chicken and my husband rendang with beef. Both dishes were really good. My only two negative observations (not related to the food) were: 1. The server, he wasn't impolite but he wasn't super friendly either 2. I was the last one to order (out of 4 orders) and my food was the last one to show up. I would say, probably around 5 minutes difference from the first dish that arrived to our table. I am pretty sensitive about that. I think it's professional to serve the whole table at once. Overall, nice restaurant with good food. Service could use some improvement.

I work in the area and randomly noticed Top Spice in the rear of the plaza one day. So when I was in the mood for Tom Yum soup today, I decided to give it a try. Service: When I came in I wasn't immediately greeted, as the hostess had stepped away and the other staff member was taking payments. The hostesses came pretty quickly and seated me right away. The waitress came shortly after and without any greeting or smile said 'Do you know what you want?'. #Fail. The expeditor redeemed the service a bit by smiling and bringing lemons for my water. Food: I order Tom Yum soup and Larb Chicken (Thai Spicy). The soup was flavored well, but the shrimp was over cooked and there was lots of oil coagulated in the soup. I've had this happen in Thai/Chinese restaurants before, but usually ones that are take out only type spots. The Larb looked great and included a big wedge of cabbage which I was happy to see b/c I usually have to ask for extra. That's where my joy of the Larb ends. Although I asked for Thai Spicy it barely registered in the heat department. And I guess they were two fold against heat, because the temperature was cold too. It also had this strange sweetness to it. If I didn't know better, I'd swear it was ketchup. Added some fish sauce w/thai chilies to salvage it. Overall: Nice atmosphere (Decor/Piano), lackluster service and so - so food. Better Thai options close by. Will not return.

Absolutely love this place. It's right around the corner so I'm here for work lunches or take out fairly often. I'm partial to the massaman curry, but I've never been disappointed with anything that I've had here. The staff has always been super friendly and their lunch specials are a great deal. If you do plan on stopping by for lunch, definitely get there early or be prepared for a wait.

Been coming here for years and the food remains the spotlight. The decor is nice, the service could be more obsequious. We had the Roti Canai and lettuce wraps for the appetizers. Can't go wrong there. For the entree we had the chicken massaman. I've had massaman many places and in my opinion there is only one other place that makes it better but they are located all the way in Decatur (Thai Chili). There are a lot of other restaurants in the area but if you are looking for a nice change a pace, Top Spice might hit the spot. End Result: Can't go wrong with the Roti Canai/Massaman.

I had Chow Kuay Teow, which is a popular dish where I lived. I have to say that it was pretty close to being authentic. Ask for no MSG. It still tastes great. I like to keep it like how I had it at home so I asked for no meat (trust me you don't need any in this dish). The Pad Thai my man had was a miss. On the service side though, it was clear that he did not like that I ask for no MSG (so maybe you don't want to not ask for MSG). He frowned, and made a bunch of unnecessary facial expressions to make sure I knew that he didn't like it. He made rounds to fill up every other tables' glasses but not ours (our glass was ~1/4 full) He does not say a word to us, except when he hands over the check and when he absolutely had to say something after laying down our dishes on the table. Even that was just one word: Enjoy. But nothing like a young bitter man can come in our way of having a nice dinner.

Sorry, but I need to update my rating on this place. It was a staple lunch place for a long time but the last two times I've been here the food has just been awful that I haven't been able to stomach it. The last time I came here, the pad thai was literally inedible. I'm on some sort of a diet anyways, so I didn't bother to send it back, but I should have. The bottom line, though, is that it shouldn't be inedible in the first place.

Sadly it wasn't what I was expecting, I ordered the Pad Thai and got... something that didn't really resemble Pad Thai. It was more tomato based, and had no flavor what so ever. I actually had to ask the waitress for salt and pepper to make it eatable. My husband had the Tofu Sweet and Sour with Mango, he said it was decent... the only reason I didn't give them one star.

Been a customer of Top Spice for many years it is always superb. I drive 14 miles (and past numerous Thai restaurants) to come here. I've yet to find better Chicken Coconut Soup. It's delicious. If you have never been here and are considering it, do your taste buds a favor and go. I highly recommend the Red Curry with a heat level 3 ( they ask you to choose 1-5).

Love this place, but it's much more affordable at lunch. The Kra-Plung is SO HOT and SO GOOD. Coconut soup is one of my favorites. If you like things spicy make sure you tell the waiter or it will come out sans spice, even if the word 'spicy' is in the name.

Best thing about Top Spice was the proximity to the Cobb Energy Centre, making it an ideal pre-show dinner destination. I enjoyed the non-meat portions of my meal. The chicken in the coconut soup and the pork in the pad see u were both very overcooked and tough...I could barely chew them before spitting out. The soup itself had good coconut and lime flavors. The pad see u was also tasty, with the traditional sweet flavoring. Service was quick and I was done with plenty of time to spare before the show. The dining room is one open space, and the music is very low, so yes, you can hear everything the loud table in the middle will be saying. Top Spice is located in a strip mall plaza that also houses an LA Fitness, Toys R Us, Sports Authority, and a couple other chain retail stores. There's a Pinkberry on the other side of the parking lot, if Top Spice's desserts aren't to your liking.

Top Spice at Cobb Pkwy puts out quality fare at reasonable prices that will satisfy most urges. However, they do not have the best location. It's a little hard to find, tucked behind the Toys-R-Us, off of Cobb Pkwy and sometimes parking can be a challenge due to the US Postal Service next door, but it is definitely worth the adventure. They also have great specials and noodle dishes. For appetizer, we had Roti Canai that came with a bowl of curry sauce. It was an entree of light and fluffy pancake and you dip it into the curry sauce. So delicious! Then we all had our creamy coconut soup. It was a little spicy and had good flavor too. Just a little kick to wake you up. I had Veggie Tofu Fried Rice as my main dish and it was awesome. Stir fried rice with tofu, egg, onion, peas and mixed vegetables was perfect as I did not want anything more spicy that day. My date had Penang Char Kway Teow. It's the Malaysian famous stir fried noodles with shrimp, squid, bean sprout, eggs, sweet soy sauce and chilies paste. Upon request, you can always ask for more hot sauce on the side. My other friend had Panang Pork Curry with coconut milk, basil leaves and bell peppers. Rice came with it and it was a hearty portion. Everyone enjoyed their entree. The food here was delicious and delivered very fast to the table. The flavors they used were eccentric and savory all at the same time. The service was good, and our server was kept very busy as the lunch crowd was standing out to the door. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant was cozy and warm. I will be back again as I enjoyed the food a lot. Malaysian food is so rich in flavor and spices. Always a delight to dine at any Top Spice restaurant. Be adventurous and try it too. Yelp 25/365

Upscale feeling Thai/Malaysian restaurant. Once every 5-6 weeks I'm here for lunch or dinner. I usually go for the Thai food on the menu because of I prefer the spice. Nice portions. Located in between the golf store and the post office. Easy parking.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant! It has a classy, romantic feel to it, and the service is always great. The food is terrific! My favorite dishes are the chicken coconut soup (which I have EVERY time), the pad thai, and the shrimp and pineapple fried rice. Yummy!

Lunch is a limited menu and they get pretty busy, but they churn those tables like nobody's business! Seriously FAST. This was my second time here for lunch - first time I had the lettuce wraps, today the Thai spicy basil with chicken. Both were really quite delicious and did I mention how FAST it was? F-A-S-T. Like we were in, handed water, served soup, gobbled up our chicken and out of there in less than 30 minutes. I almost felt a little cheap and used by how quick it was, but sometimes quick is good. Like at lunch. Service wasn't anything to write home about, but during a lunch rush I'm not really looking to be wowed. Coconut soup was a little sour (still trying to find the best in Atlanta). We weren't asked if we wanted anything other than water, but that was fine for us. In the end - FAST, very good (not the best, but solid) and CHEAP. $16.85 + tip for the two of us. Can't remember the last time we spent that little for lunch.

Trying Thai and it was okay but then again it could be me that just didn't know what to order and messed up. I got the Pad thai. Easy right? Hmmm just wasn't my cup of tea. Service was good. I will try again and stick with what I do know.

My husband will be very displeased with this review but I'm being objective. I just didn't like it. Went with a group and we all ordered quite a bit of food. One of my friends ordered the massaman curry and it had no potatoes. When asked why, the waitress stated it was because she ordered a veggies & tofu so potatoes aren't included. Had she ordered just tofu, then she would've gotten the potatoes. It was by far one of the funniest explanations I'd heard in a while and it amused me a lot, but not my potato-less friend. It tried to comfort her that the potatoes and broccoli were currently not on speaking terms which is why they have to keep them divided right now. She was not a happy camper. As for my food, I had the Mango Tofu. The taste was good but my issue was the tofu was so fried that I just chewed and chewed and chewed and felt like I was making no progress in breaking down the food.

Meh. I was just really not at all impressed. First time eating at Top Spice. Service was super slow. We were never asked if we were interested in drinking anything other than ice water. Menu was a bit too pricey, in my opinion, compared to comparable Thai restaurants. I ended up ordering the Penang curry with tofu and had to do the whole, "can you make that spicy?" "are you sure?? How about I just bring something out on the side" bit. No, I am not Thai, but I eat a good amount of Thai food, and I know how I like it- so make it hot. The food came out quickly and my curry was just ok- I've had better and the flavor was a bit off. My date's meal was okay, but he found the noodles he ordered to be super greasy. I don't foresee a return visit to Top Spice anytime in the near future.

I have never actually ordered anything here so cannot comment on the quality of the food. Visited the place to schedule a group event of ~30 people. They were very busy when I walked into the restaurant and it took several minutes before a guy (bald, with glasses) came to me. I asked if it would be possible to reserve the area in the middle of the room for the group event. He rejected my proposal rudely simply saying one word "impossible". That was a deal breaker for any further discussion. Immediately walked away.

Masaman Curry was delicious, restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated. Roti was perfect! Kids cleaned their plates (Pad See Ew) and our 3 yr old loved the Larb. Not the best Thai in Atlanta but a great choice if you are in the area.

I decided I wanted to have a working lunch today so I grabbed my laptop and headed to Top spice for a late lunch. The Atmosphere is so nice an relaxing. I got a nice spot in the back and worked away as my order was being prepared. I tried the Thai Spring Rolls which were Delicious and my favorite Spicy Basil Leaves with Chicken. All in All I was very pleased with my food and the prompt service. Will do this again real soon!

This is one of my favorite haunts, whether in-person/to go/delivery. The ambiance is really nice in the restaurant and my friends and I always enjoy trying to figure out what spices are displayed in their custom tables. Whenever I order any items to-go, it's hot and ready for me when they say it will be- generally, within 10-15 minutes of calling. Delivery is always on-time, and the delivery guys are generally friendly. Some menu highlights: -Coconut Soup (slightly spicy and savory, yet creamy and silky) -Pad Thai (This is not the sweet pad thai, but the more savory kind) -Pad-See-U (On the sweet side, very yummy flavor combos and easy on people who don't love "spicy" food) -Panang Curry (Delicious flavor combo of curry, spices, creamy coconut, bell peppers, meat of choice, and can be made as spicy or not as you like) -Fresh Basil Rolls (If you've never had these, give this Thai version of an "egg roll" a try- it isn't fried, is very refreshing, and is great with the plum sauce) -Spicy Fried Rice (Not the most unique or special item on the menu, but still delicious) Overall, if you're in the mood for Thai, this is a great spot to go. The food is consistent, tasty, and there is something on the menu that will appeal to most people.

Came here because of the good reviews on Yelp. Don't make the same mistake. My food literally tasted like they dumped canned hot dog chili on chicken. All the food tasted very cheap. Only 1 out of 4 of us liked our food, and he ended up w/ stomach pains just a couple hours later.

From the inside you would never know its in a strip mall. The decor and atmosphere was very nice on our first visit last Wednesday night. We ordered the samosas which were excellent and I had chicken with spicy vegetables and the hubs ordered chicken with cashew nuts. Both plates were very tasty and visually appealing. Service was a bit slow but exceedingly friendly. We will return and try more menu items before settling on a favorite.

Say what you want but THIS PLACE RIGHT HERE is one of my favs AND they deliver #Winning. My fav is Panang curry (spice level 5) with a side of coconut soup.. "Aaaaaaah, Heaven on earth" for ME. Great subtle ambience for lunch, dates and professional or casual group dinner. Anyone that knows me know I love me some Top Spice. Delicious food that's quickly prepared. Your tongue will definitely appreciate the flavors and portion size.

I was in town for business and not too familiar with restaurants in the area. I was lucky to find Top Spice! The staff was very friendly and helpful in offering recommendations on my order. I ordered Panang Tofu and Spring Rolls, both of which were great! My meal was take-out, but I was in the restaurant long enough to see that the atmosphere was warm and inviting, family friendly but with an upscale appearance. Definitely not a run of the mill location. I would recommend it to anyone.

Granted- I'm OTP and this is throwing me for a loop- either way- I see top spice which is familiar- and I quickly say- let's eat here! I know that my classmates just ate at Honeybaked Ham- and I am trying to avoid that! So- dark zen environment- check. Slow service- check. Fast yummy food- check! A few times we did encounter a server that acted like we were speaking Greek but that minor irritation aside- this top spice hit the spot! Thank goodness for a little familiarity in the big bad suburbs! I had spicy catfish- which I ordered thai hot... I ended up needing a thai iced tea to cool off with- my eyes are still watering! It was quite tasty- lots of crispy catfish, tons of eggplant and rich red curry. Yum! Coconut soup was chock full of tofu and mushrooms- had a nice kick and was quickly slurped up by all parties involved. One of my friends had ginger chicken-her plate was basically completely cleaned and another had a rice noodle dish that was huge. All around- great pick for a tasty 8 buck lunch.

Seafood noodles: They had shrimp, mussels, calamari, scallops on top of spicy flat noodles. Pretty good and a good generous portion. Kinda pricey though - $14. Spring rolls: Nothing to special. Very small and pricey. The ambiance was nice. It has nice decor and friendly enough service. But a little too pricey for me.

This is one of my favourite restaurants! There are multiple locations, and they're all good. My first acquaintance was with the location on N. Druid Hills (when I lived a couple miles away), but all most recent ones with this location. When I used to work nearby, they were nice enough to deliver to my office building in Vinings. Since leaving that job, I make a point to try to go there--even though it's a bit out of the way--whenever I get the chance (and the craving for good Thai food!) My favourite is the Spicy Basil with tofu (I will say, they don't give a very large portion of tofu, compared to the portions of meat in other dishes, but for a buck or two more, you can add more and make it a more substantial protein in the dish) which is just spicy enough, without overpowering the taste of the whole dish. The portion size is fantastic, and I am usually more than able to eat enough to make me full with enough to take home to get another meal out of (if I order or make extra rice at home), which makes it a pretty good value for me. On this visit, I also brought my boyfriend, who was visiting from Chicago. He's not vegetarian, and he ordered the chicken satay appetizer and red curry with beef for his entree. The chicken satay appetizer was a really large portion (4 filled skewers and a rammekin of sauce, along with a side/garnish of cucumber and red onion--which I happily snacked on :) )and he said that both it and his entree were very good. In addition to my fave dish (like I said above) I also got the tofu veggie soup and an order of the veggie spring rolls--both of which were yummy, as always! Our service was pretty good (we really didn't need much but water refills), and the setting was lovely, and the leftovers provided me with a yummy repeat for dinner a couple days later. What I wouldn't give to see this place do a groupon or some other local deal before I move next month, but goodness knows that with the quality of food they provide, they really don't need to offer any incentives or anything to get people in the door--but once they've been, they'll be back :)

Great thai food at a decent price. I got the Chicken Pad Thai, mild spice. It was great flavor and the only time I have ever had tofu and enjoyed it. Next time I will get it a little spicier though. The service was quite good. It's not the best thai I've ever had, but top 5 for sure. You should try it!

The food is good. I had a group of four that came for lunch. The food was not expensive and it was tasty. I got the chicken Malaysian Curry and I know everyone at my table ordered something different and we all liked our food. The problem is that the service was lacking. No one in the place was receiving service. It is as if they were more concerned with getting people in and out to get more money. We had to flag down different staff members to get a spice tray or a refill.

Great food, but the service was very lacking. We wanted desert but our server basically forgot about us. We had to stare at every employee until one finally asked if we needed anything. I also ordered a coconut soup that he totally forgot about. so in total, they would have sold a soup and two deserts had they not neglected us. And they weren't busy at all.

My fiancée and I went there for the first time last night and figure we'd try something new in the Vinings area. We were both impressed with the food and service initially. After we were done with dinner, while I was taking care of the check, my fiancée became nauseous. When we got home (5 minutes later), I call the restaurant to notify them what had happened. The owner/manager I assume, took the call and handled the situation quite rudely. Stated to me that "food poisoning doesn't take place THAT quickly." And maybe my fiancée was sick to begin with. I feel that's no way to handle a concern. (I called to notify, not complain) It was our first time there and surely, it was our last time. I've been to lots of restaurants and this is the first time I felt that I needed to write a review about a place due to the poor management skills that this business had in handling a problem as such.

First of all, I would rate 3.5 out of 5. Service at Top Spice is wonderful, everyone is friendly. The food came out quickly and big portion. I ordered my regular - chicken basil and it was yummy and fulfilling. I forgot to tell them I wanted Thai hot! The place was packed for lunch. Luckily, my friend and I came earlier. I love how each table had spices "inside" the table, making it look like decorations. Behind the counter where the bar area is, lots of spices too. I love how they live it to their name. Cannot wait to come back.

Top Spice is a guaranteed solid meal, with upscale decor. The food is good, not too exotic, and definitely worth the slightly inflated prices. This is not a cheap takeout joint. The dishes are decently seasoned, without offending less adventurous palates, and can be spiced up quite hot...if you request it. The menu is more Thai than Malaysian. This is a great place to go for a nice work lunch.

One of my favorite Thai restaurants for take out. I call in they remember my order and get it right everytime. The food is great. Their Panag curry is one of my favorites!

This place is always packed during lunch. Their meals are decent, but I feel they don't fill you up. Is $7.50 for a Penang Chicken a good lunch price? I'm not sure. It's definitely a lunch portion though. The decor is weird and dark. During lunch, it feels like you've been clubbing all night and walking out of a dark club into the bright, morning sunlight. The tables are cool with the spices crammed into the middle part of the table. The servers are nice too. The food here is good--no doubt about it, but it's not something I'll crave. To me, it's just your typical, decent Thai food. I actually prefer Red Elephant better. I give it 3.5 stars.
