This was my first time at this establishment. Parking was a pain because the street parking was full. I chose to park in the deck which ended up running me $5. Glad I didn't hit 2 hours or it would've been $8 and better to valet! The restaurant was semi busy, but it was a Tuesday. They have a patio but it is very small and they do not take reservations. The menu makes some seasonal changes as shown on their giant chalkboard and online. I started with the meatballs. These were just average to me, and I doubt I'd ever get them again. The burrata mozzarella was my favorite of the things we sampled. The pesto sauce was the best part of it. I was also surprised how much I enjoyed the chopped salad. I'm not really a salad person but I even got seconds. I tried the Iberian pizza as well, but those toppings just really weren't my style. I'll definitely be back to try that 13th pie! Who doesn't love corn and bacon!!! The one sip of my friends grapefruit cocktail was fabulous, but I love all things grapefruit! I was just in a mood for wine so I ordered the Toscana for myself which I really enjoyed.

The pizza was quite good -- we ordered the Iberian and our friends ordered, I think, the spicy House made pork sausage. The crust was thin and crispy, the toppings flavorful and balanced. My husband and I think that Antico is a bit overrated. I thought Thirteen Pies was better than Antico, at least in terms of the "pie" or pizza. I also ordered the bucatini pasta dish which is supposed to be sort of like spaghetti but a hollowed out center. The noodles didn't taste quite like I thought they should; they were a little wide and flattened. Otherwise the sauce (which includes pancetta) tasted good, and I even brought it home so I could cook some more pasta with it. Went on a Saturday around 6 pm and no wait for a table for 4.

Definitely recommended. You have to go check out this new Italian pizza joint NOW. Their food is absolutely amazing and authentic. It reminds me of the famous Serious Pies in Seattle WA. Their lasagna is the best with perfect layers of pasta, cheese, sauce and a whole lot of ground beef. I ordered a house made lamb sausage pie, also added on top a farm egg sunny side up. The crust was thin and delicious, perfect tomato sauce, sausage and fresh egg go so well together. The decor is very modern and welcoming. They have great customer service too.

So the ambience in this place is fantastic!! Drinks were strong and tasty. Service was awesome. Went on Friday evening. Pretty packed but we were seated fast. We got the Iberian because it was the most popular and added chorizo. The pizza was thin and the size of a medium pizza. The salami was a bit too overpowering. I had to get some marinara/pizza sauce on the side to tone down the salami taste. I'd give the pizza 4 stars. Good but I've had better. Big shoes to fill when up against Antico. I'd go back and try out a different pizza. Tiil next time!

After eating legit pizza in Italy and trying Antico's and Varasano's in Atlanta, I realized that pizza can't get much better than that. Seeing Thirteen Pies pop up on my radar made me skeptical, seeing as it's in the classy new area of Buckhead. Parking is NOT cute. They don't validate parking here (rude) and the parking deck on Pharr Rd. offers 1 hour complimentary self parking, with the next HALF HOUR at $3 or the next HOUR at $5, then every additional hour at $3 more per hour. I ended up not getting back to my car for 2 hours and 5 minutes, so I paid $8 for parking. I should have taken Uber. Once there, I was immediately seated with no wait. While waiting for my two girls to show up, the server offered some drink suggestions and I ordered a cocktail. The Grapefruit Rickey was very light and super easy drinking. Not too sweet and not too bitter, as Grapefruit tends to be. It looks like a glass of iced water with grapefruit slice garnish, but it made my tummy all warm inside! A light but deceivingly strong drink. After the girls arrived, our severe seemed to have a little trouble balancing her table load. She was also working a large birthday party table of at least 10 on my right, which sometimes caused slight neglect of our water refills or beer orders. We were lucky when we were able to flag her down. We ordered three pizzas, although I didn't get a chance to try the other girls' pizzas. One ordered the Iberian (with no cheese), one ordered the Lamb Sausage pizza, and I ended up ordering the Spicy Sausage. I was curious about the Thirteenth Pie, which was a bacon cilantro and such combination, but I stuck with what I assumed I knew. Really enjoyed my pizza! The thin crust just made it a lighter pizza, although the toppings were far from "light." The pork sausage was savory and had a nice kick. I love peppers but I wasn't a huge fan of the way they were cooked on my pizza: slightly bland and didn't go with the consistency of the pizza. But the flavors overall were definitely on point. $30 for a personal pizza and a cocktail seemed a little steep, but this is definitely Buckhead. I want to try the Iberian pizza next time. I'll also make sure to bring a timer with me so I don't stay longer than 2 hours.

The food is worth the 4 stars but the service not too much. My girlfriends and I stopped by here on Sunday for lunch. The place wasn't very crowded but they only had one waiter for the entire place which may be the reason why the lack of service. I generally am not a fan of Italian food but this place has changed my mind. They do have their house made cocktails, wine, and beer. The pizza crust is delightfully chewy. They are called Thirteen Pie for a reason, they always change their 13th pie...I'm not sure when but it is written on their huge chalk board on their wall. Definitely try the fried artichoke. Very delish with the sauce...which I am in love with!

I came here again recently with friends. We had a really good experience! I think the sit in experience is always going to be better than the take out. We got the lamb sausage pizza & the egg yolk pizza. We asked that the guanciale be taken off the egg yolk pizza & they accommodated. I still found the lamb one to be a bit salty but the egg yolk pizza was by far one of the best pizzas ever! I love egg yolk on anything so I was in heaven! I just want to order 3 of those next time :-) We also ordered the flourless chocolate cake & the lemon semifreddo which were both very good but my favorite would be the semifreddo!

Excellent thin crust pizzas with equally impressive small plates. Thirteen Pies serves twelve "regular menu" thin crust pizzas along with a "thirteenth pie" which rotates. On the menu, it is described as "who knows what?" But if you follow the Facebook page, you can see what the mystery pie is. Spoiler alert for the Facebook page if you prefer to be surprised by the thirteenth pie. My group started off with two of the small plates - the baked goat cheese and the lightly fried calamari. I didn't expect to order small plates here, but after trying these two, I definitely recommend them. The baked goat cheese was served with pieces of crostini and garnished with sun dried tomatoes and kalamata olives - the flavor was excellent. The calamari was lightly fried and garnished with pickled vegetables that lightened the dish. With lemon juice and a tasty dipping sauce, this small plate was also very delicious. It took a while for the pizzas to come out. But we were warned that the pizzas would take time and it would be advisable to order small plates and salads. The wait was certainly worth it. My group ate the garlic and kale white pizza and the Iberian pizza off the regular menu. We also were adventurous and ordered the thirteenth pie, which was elote (corn) and crispy bacon. I really liked the paper thin crust on all the pizzas, which was light and not greasy. The toppings and cheeses were top notch. My favorite of the three was the garlic and kale white pizza, but really, all of them were superb. Parking is not validated, so be prepared to pay a little bit to park your car either in the street or in the lot directly adjacent to the restaurant. Good atmosphere and great food - I'm ready to try the other 10 pies.

Oh this place was to die for!! Server was super super nice and knowledgeable. Started w the baked Goat Cheese that is a MUST. It had olive oil, tomatoes, and kalamata olives it was YUM! Then we had fried artichokes which the sauce that came w it was delicious! Not sure what it was maybe a red pepper sauce but it was yum! I saw tons of yelp photos and reviews of the duck and fig pizza and sadly they did not have it last night but we did end up with three awesome pizza's! The burrata, the kale and white, and the mushroom! All were AMAZING, The burrata was the best though. And bc me and my 7 friends could not get enough we ordered the lasagna. It was hands down the BEST lasagna I have ever had at a restaurant. I wish I wasn't too full bc I may have ordered another. Desserts were also amazing! We did the flour less chocolate cake but the zeppole was the crowd fav. Fried piece of dough but not greasy served w honey and raspberry.. it was to die for. It all was. My new fav place in Buckhead. I cannot wait to come back.

If you like thin crust and crispy pizzas, you will definitely like thirteen pies! They have lots of different types of pizza to choose from and unique flavors. I tried a pretty basic one, called Straight, but it was delicious. It had the right amount of tomato sauce and crisp. We also got the house salad which you can definitely share with another person and the baked goat cheese. The house salad came with a mustard vinaigrette dressing, which was one of the most flavorful dressings ever. This is a great place to eat at in the buckhead shopping plaza.

Thirteen Pies is the 3rd of 10 stops as part of "Eat the Peachtree 2015 - Electric Boogaloo!" - this is the return of the world's largest world's largest 10K-themed pub crawl. 10 clicks, 10 stops, 10 dishes, 10 drinks. 1 epic afternoon. Locate all the posts along with an intro if you search my blog with ETP2015. We walked from restaurant to restaurant in search of the best flavors and drinking venues in Atlanta, while enjoying the same sights as you would while running the Peachtree Road Race. The Original itinerary called for The Southern Gentleman - much to our chagrin and disappointment, The Southern Gentleman was closed when we arrived - it still had customers but we arrived 5 minutes after the hour - oops. While I would have liked to have shown a few apps, drinks and the revel we would have had there, instead we decided to substitute the local Thirteen Pies which is also in the same shopping complex, only on the ground floor. You can find Thirteen Pies in that new Buckhead shopping complex, located at 250 Buckhead Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30305 - it's located on the ground floor on the left as you enter this new concept of Buckhead shopping. This is a really beautiful restaurant featuring natural wood finishes and parallel lines across an open dining room, open bar and open kitchen concept. What you see is what you get at every aspect, with stunning modernist views. On the left wall as you walk in you'll see an horizontal chalkboard with the daily specials. The menu includes small plates, salads, pastas and of course the 13 signature pies (get it?). We downed a few glasses of local craft brew including the rotating Sweetwater tap - quite refreshing... For food, the chop salad is one of the signature dishes, so we went there and ordered the Iberian pie - fennel sallami, smoked provolone, soffritto, castelvetrano olive (my favorite!), yellow tomato and old manchego - it was awesome and cut into 6 pieces, so one each! I really do love this place and plan to return, possibly for a date night. The service was awesome and the food quick to the table - for a substitute, this was a terrific selection - kudos to Verlin for suggesting this one! (longer review with photos posted to my food blog)

First time at this restaurant, it was recommended to us by St. Regis. The staff was awesome. Everything on the menu looked wonderful. We had the chop salad, lasagna (which melts in your mouth) and four different pizzas. The crust was thin and all the ingredients were fresh. They were all tasty I highly recommend this place next time you visit Atlanta.

Yummy yummy good in my tummy. There are enough reviews that tell you about the nuances, but get one of their craft cocktails. Get a salad and order one of my favorites: that Good Pepperoni is so good. So good I went back two more times that same week. And the other one I love is the Sausage pizza with peppers. If you're feeling adventurous try the 13th pie. It's basically the chefs special. The atmosphere is nice. Great date place or place to socialize. And once you love the pizzas yes you can order for take out.

FYI I am a pizza snob and I blame that on my NY roots. Not that it's the greatest but its dang good. But Atlanta is making me happy with some choices we have in the gourmet pizza arena. Thirteen Pies fits in that arena very nicely. The décor is awesome and I love the fact that their ovens/kitchen are open and if you sit at the bar, you sit with a bartender and some pizza makers. It's definitely a cool spot to go to alone because you have some kitchen entertainment to digest. There is a large chalkboard with all the specials of the day on it and as soon as you walk in you will see it. There was a little neck clam and chorizo pizza that immediately caught my eye. While looking at the menu I discovered that there are 13 pizzas and the thirteenth one is the special of the day. So it's cool to order it as (corn ball alert) "I'll have the thirteenth pie please!" Our waitress was very friendly and advised that they were expecting some large parties in so she wanted to make sure to take care of us before it got hectic, and I appreciated that. We order the 13th pizza and some drinks. I ordered the Honey Lemon Bourbon and it was AWESOME. I'm just saying. It was made to perfection. It has bourbon (Makers Mark because I need to know), clover honey and lemon. It was perfect. The pizza. It was a thin crust, six slice, 12 inch. Some may throw caution at the little neck clams on the pizza but with the chives, parsley and garlic, it was delicious. You ever order mussels and the broth left is so delicious you have to sop it up with some bread? That's what this pizza was like. My friend and I shared it but I could have eaten the whole thing on my own, especially since it is thin crust. Be daring and order two to share and have some left for later, I think you will be happy. We shared dessert, the Lemon Mascarpone Semifreddo. I am more of a chocolate girl, but it was good and the portion size was nice. I will definitely go back to try some more pizzas and a salad. I saw someone else's order and the salad was a nice size. If nothing else I need to have that Bourbon drink again.

J and I went for a date on a Thursday night. I parked in the deck with the entrance off of Pharr and wandered past all the fancy shops to Thirteen Pies. I immediately was drawn to the warm wood finish on the outside, and that only improved upon entry. Though the space is large, the simple modern decor and low lighting makes it feel cozy. Our server was quite friendly. She'd already talked my J through the cocktails including the cocktail special. For drinks, J ordered us the Bitters Prosecco (think champagne cocktail) and the Irish Grape (seasonal special). Both were tasty, but I stuck with the Bitters Prosseco, featuring a sugar cube in the middle of the champagne goblet to keep the bubbles bubbling. We started with the lightly fried artichokes and the arugula and salumi salad - both seasonal specials. The artichokes were indeed lightly fried and lightly breaded, with a nice tangy sauce to cut through the greasiness. The salad was really good - fresh ingredients in just the right balance of toppings and greens. For our pie, we chose the Iberian. It was a good fancy pizza - you know, the kind with premium gourmet toppings like fennel salami, smoked provolone, soffritto, castelvetrano olive, yellow tomato & old manchego. The crust has a nice crisp to it. I don't recall there being tomato sauce, so if there was, it didn't overpower the flavor of the toppings. All in all, a great meal.

Located in the new Buckhead Atlanta shops - parking is tough if you don't valet, but the valet parking is easy and painless. Two visits and both were great. High end pizza kitchen. Decor is really interesting with lots of wood and ambient lighting. Noise level is not at all annoying, even though the kitchen is open to the dining area. We sat at the bar both times and it's fun to watch the action in the kitchen area. Baked Goat Cheese appetizer = fight over who got to lick the plate. Garlic and Kale pizza was delicious, as was the Iberian. Service was personal and friendly. Recommend! Can't wait to go back. **I just have one comment - all of the chefs and kitchen prep should wear caps or similar to cover head - even the guy in charge :)

Where to start with this place. First, great loc and ambiance. Ludacris was sitting on table next to us with his wife and fam. We were on a girls night out and definitely enjoyed the eye candy!!! Now that's out if the way, on to the food. Very mediocre. Ordered a whole bunch of diff pizzas between the 8 of us and none stood out. Margarita pizza was so salty we couldn't even eat it. Mushroom one had opposite problem of no flavor. Crust was perfect though. Took 45 mins to get mediocre dessert. And another 25 mins to get the check. It was so late (almost 11pm) on Thur night and we were only ones sitting waiting for our check. Ugh! Won't return.

The service is here is amazing! But that's not the best part. It's certainly the pies. Thin crust pizzas with large portions of thin crust! THE IBERIAN: This was by far my favorite pie. It comes with fennel salami and smoke provolone. I like meaty pizzas so this had that meaty taste, but was balanced with large thin sliced of tomato that made it taste fresh. The thin crust only makes it better!! THE SPICY HOUSE-MADE PORK SAUSAGE: Sausage, pepper, onion, and mozzarella! It didn't taste heavily like spicy sausage but that's what I liked about it. I wasn't overwhelmed by the meat flavor but the sausage certainly stuck out. It was the one pie on my table that went fast! What was even better was the manager came by and gave us a second one because it didn't seem like "we ordered enough". Thanks, Thirteen Pies!!! THE THIRTEENTH PIE: This is the best part of their restaurant. So they roll a new pie every 3-4 weeks and it's the thirteenth one. This one in particular was a meat topped in tomato and thin apple slices. Ever try thin apple slices on a pizza? If not, you have to! It was amazing. I'm even mildly allergic to apple slices and I manned up and tried it! Our server Jenn (or Jenni) did an amazing job of making sure I didn't succumb to my mild apple allergy and also kept us up to date with our order and what we could expect. They do a great job of replacing dishes and keeping our drinks filled. This is a great place for a date, a group of people, or just a casual dining experience. I would definitely recommend coming here!

Thirteen Pies is the new premium/upscale pizza and pasta restaurant to open doors for business today(10/07/2014) at 4 pm in Buckhead-Atlanta shopping complex. This will be their second location outside of Fortworth, TX. Before re-branding as Thirteen Pies, the restaurant was originally called 'Fireside Pies' in Fortworth. (Free road side parking is available at Buckhead Ave but it's limited. And there is also complimentary valet parking available, just look for the signs.) UPDATE: As of 10/15/2014, they no longer provide complimentary valet or self parking. yelp.com/biz_photos/thir… The restaurant is located not too far from the shake shack and next to the new Warby Parker showroom. The interior is warm and comfortable, featuring patterned tile counter tops, limestone flooring, modern wooden walls and ceilings! This place is big - they can easily seat 100 people in there! The menu is very similar for lunch and dinner with only slight price difference. The menu has small plates(appetizers), Salads, pastas(made in-house), pizzas and desserts. They also have extensive drinks menu for wine, cocktails and beers. I took a quick gander at the wine menu and everything seem a bit expensive but the cocktail and beer prices are not too bad and in par with other restaurant of this level. They have exactly four appetizers - wood roasted vegetables, baked goat cheese, fresh ricotta crostini, beef meatballs. And five pasta dishes and 12 regular selection of pies/pizzas in the menu. There is 13th pie listed without any ingredients, reserved for daily specials pie(and hence the name of the restaurant). Just ask your waiter. First of all, if you think of Pizza as greasy, over-sized, button popping monster - you won't find those here. You have to get yourself here if you want to find out what expensive high-end pizza looks and taste like. Everything seem to be made with finest ingredients. Second, portion size here is not big - decent size but not big, at least not what you would expect for a $15 item. I'm not complaining here, but merely stating the nature of places like this. Knowing this would set your expectation right. Oh, they are also gluten-friendly and vegetarian friendly! We ordered, 1) Guanciale & Farm Egg Pizza($15) 2) House-Made Lamb Sausage Pizza($14) 3) Bolognese(pasta)$14 The Guanciale & Farm egg pizza had gruyere, roasted onions & mizuna and egg on top. You basically take a knife or fork and squash the runny yolk, spread it all over pizza and eat. It was exploding with so much flavors . Guanciale is just cured pork cheeks and works very well with Gruyere and runny yolk. Never have I thought I would experience such flavors in pizza! The crust was insanely thin and not too crisp, not too chewy! This was our favorite pizza of the night. House made lamb sausage pizza had smoked provolone, Jalapeno, overn-roasted tomatoes & pecorino on top. It was tasty but we liked Guanciale pizza better. Bolognese was made with egg noodles, parmigiano reggiano and of course 'Ragu alla bolognese' - also called as meat sauce! It was one of the best bolognese I have ever tasted. The dish was not heavy at all - it was quiet light, sauce was well seasoned and extremely delicious. Definitely a MUST TRY here. Towards the end of the meal, we noticed that a small rope on one of our pizza slices and mentioned it to the waitress(I think it was one used on sausages). She immediately apologized and brought manager, who again apologized profusely and was even embarrassed that something like this happened on opening day. She wanted to replace a new pizza for us but it was the last slice and we were already full, so we refused politely. And also they brought the bill with $0! I always say this, mistakes happen in restaurants but how they handle it makes for the experience! I thought customer service was top notch here! Overall, we enjoyed our food, décor and experience at thirteen pies and I will be back soon for trying other items.

Welcome to the neighborhood!!! Wow, our dinner was EXCELLENT! We started out with the baked goat cheese, which was creamy and flavorful- the pesto and olives complemented the cheese well and they use a good quality olive oil. The featured side (and the show stealer) was a baked cauliflower in a light spicy cream sauce, drizzled with chili oil and baked in a ramekin with a breadcrumb topping. Oh my that was yummy. As other reviewers have mentioned, the crust is light and thin. I normally prefer a thin chewy/charred crust, but this one was very tasty as well. The only change I would like to see is a little more topping real estate and slightly less of the thick outer crust. I had a whole bread basket of pure crust leftover on my plate! The Good Pepperoni was delicious- the sauce really shines and the pepperoni is sliced paper thin. We also got the lamb sausage. I'll probably get that again! The sprinkle of jalapeños added just the right amount of kick and the sausage is cut into rounds similar to pepperoni. Because of the size of the pizzas, I would recommend each person getting their own... Unless you both eat like birds. Price-wise, we ended up paying $80 after tip and got: two appetizers, two pizzas and one cocktail. Not shabby at all!

Thirteen Pies is a rarity in the crowded "artisan" pizza category...not only does it live up to the hype, but it manages to do so without setting your wallet on fire. The staff are super friendly and were happy to accommodate our party of two that eventually grew to five without batting an eye or misplacing a drink order. Their small plates are a great place to start - check out the ricotta crostini - and the beer menu, although limited in scope, has some superb options. As promised, the pizza was equally excellent. We settled on the parma prosciutto (decent), the Iberian (outstanding) and the 13th pie (orgasmic), which on the night we visited had goat cheese, roasted corn and pork belly. Having lived in Southern CT for years, I don't pull punches when it comes to pizza reviews, but Thirteen Pies is damn good. Worth many a repeat visit.

Perhaps my expectations were too high based on the rave reviews of friends and yelp... My overall impression: eh, it was fine. Food was good, drinks spectacular, but there are simply too many good pizza spots in Atlanta for this one to compete. The highlights: ginger gin soda, meatballs & GA bibb were tasty. If I return this will be my meal. Utter disappointment: brussels with pancetta and the straight pie. If a pizza spot can't nail a margherita then how on earth can it survive? The butternut squasy raviola was just ok. While the ambiance was solid, I won't be rushing back.

Hands down the best pizza in Atlanta!!!!!!! Forget any other place people tell you about, this is it. I would eat here everyday if I could. If you don't have a three course meal here then you've done yourself a disservice.

My favorite feature of these pizza pies is that they are very thin... If I were to exaggerate, I would say they are almost thin like paper! As a consequence, it did not hold a lot of grease. Each bite was crispy (who likes a soggy pizza anyway??). We tried several items to test out the new menu. Guanciale & Farm Egg pie: The egg was not fully cooked and I did the honor of breaking it and seeing the yolk run on the pizza. Such a light and delightful addition to the pie. The cook was thoughtful enough to not make clean cuts to the pie, keeping the pieces tightly connected so that the yolk would not run onto the plate. The best part of this dish was the guanciale (pork cheek). So crispy and flavorful! Who can deny bacon that isn't all fat??!? HIGHLY recommended. House-made Lamb Sausage pie: Be prepared and have a seat. The burst of flavor from the first bite will take you aback. The lamb had its distinct smell and had a unique taste. I would recommend trying this last so that it doesn't overshadow the other dishes. Bolognese: Yummm... the thin pasta was also wide enough to scoop up the meaty sauce. Chew it slowly to savor every bite and let the pasta roll around your taste buds. When I discovered that I was chewing on a piece of twine, the staff was quick to apologize and correct the situation. Hey, mistakes happen. I would not have guessed this was their opening night. Everything else went smoothly. The servers are attentive and are quick to refill waters and take away dirty plates. They are also proactive in providing extra plates and silverware for us to share the various dishes. Highly recommended to go with several people to try the different dishes. Ambience is warm and cozy with a modern atmosphere. The open kitchen allows patrons to watch the cooks roll out the dough and spin them into the round, flat pies. There's a patio that is used as a waiting area but word is that they'll convert it to a dining area eventually. I am looking forward to coming back to try other items on the menu.

Excellent little Buckhead gem! I love the vibe and atmosphere of this place. It's inviting yet still cozy. It's a pretty casual place so whether you are dressed up for a night out, or just coming from work or wherever, you can still fit in without feeling like you're not suppose to. The food was superb and the service was great. Ordered baby kale salad, farm house salad (with dressing on the side), the trotter pizza with farm egg, and the bologense. The Bolognese was excellent and the pizza mixed with the farm egg was awesome. I love anything with eggs. The crust is very light so you don't get totally stuffed and full off of it. Cocktails are served tall. Their signature drinks at least. That's def a plus! I love this place I'll def be coming back to try more of their pizzas and different pasta selections.

If you want some gourmet style pizza, this place is the place to go to. They have a ton of choices for pizza lovers out there and the flavors are pretty unique. I went with the recommendation of the server and ordered the Iberian. It was so flavorful and light -- i loved it! Would definitely come back again and try the other 12 pies.

Service and vibe was kinda slow. I went on a rainy Sunday afternoon for lunch around 1:30PM. The decor is very nice and welcoming. Clean and warm with lots of wood and brick everywhere. The pizza ovens are in plain view and the open bar & ovens create a great visual appeal, as well as open-air feel. Well-lit so you can see your food, but still soft lighting and uninvasive. Their menu is pretty limiting because nearly everything has pork. We ordered the garlic and sage white pizza and the good pepperoni. I didn't get much truffle oil in the pepperoni pie and it was too salty. I liked that they sliced the pepperoni very thin. I think if they cooked it a little more well done, it would've tasted better. Garlic and sage pizza was delicious and my favorite of the two we tried. Wasn't very hungry so we just had the two pizzas. Probably wouldn't come back based on this experience because it wasn't very memorable. I've heard the salads are good so maybe id come back to try that if I was in the neighborhood. I appreciate the clean bathrooms and trash can by the door so you have somewhere to throw away your paper towel after using it to open the door. First and foremost, I rate the food. Though the ambiance was very nice, service was less than great and the food was mediocre at best. Our total came out to $37 including tip. I'd rather have gone across the way to shake shack or something. I guess I'd give it two and a half stars because it wasn't bad. But they don't have half stars so two it is.

I visited here with a couple of friends, one of which is from Italy. I really enjoyed the extensive and unique menu. We shared a fantastic salad. The pizza is cooked in a round brick oven that I have seen before on cooking shows with authentic pizzerias. I ordered the house made lamb sausage pie. The center of the crust was a little soggy, but the crust was fantastic. They have a flourless chocolate torte that is to die for which is topped with vanilla bean ice cream, fennel caramel, and smoked almonds. I will definitely be back to try more menu items.

Returned to Thirteen Pies for the second time and again was impressed! The restaurant was buzzing and packed. We grabbed drinks at the bar and were seated after about 15 minutes. The vodka ginger soda was very delicious! We ordered the meatball appetizers (comes with 5 meatballs) and they were very flavorful and seasoned well. I ordered the bolognese pasta for dinner and like many other reviewers was very satisfied! The portion was large and the egg noodles and sauce were delicious. The staff is all very friendly and professional which we appreciated! Try it out!

Loved this place. Atmosphere was nice and inviting. The restaurant is also very clean and well kept. The bar is a great area to sit and see pizza made up close and personal. Pizza and calamari were tasty. The best part was the customer service. CJ served me at the bar and discussed several drink options. Not only talking about the drink itself, but the components and orgin of them. Great upselling CJ, the drinks were worth it. I'll definitely be visiting again in the near future.

Pizza from Texas? Pizza from Texas that is on par with the likes of Antico and Varuni Napoli?? Let's explore: Thirteen Pies is an artisan pizza restaurant from Texas that just opened its first Georgia location in Buckhead, Atlanta. The name of the restaurant attributes to its menu of thirteen pies where the thirteenth pie is changed every few weeks or so. Parking options vary from valet parking across the street to free parking in the new luxury retail/residential development a block down. The restaurant is in the luxury retail development so you may want to consider not doing what I did and wear shorts and a sweater. :) The atmosphere is quite different than Antico--there is no loud Italian music blaring, and no community seating. There is more focus on ambiance and mood with the soft/dark lighting. The open kitchen with its busy bee chefs provide a nice contrast to the general dining area. We started off with a couple appetizers consisting of a baked goat cheese, basil pesto with olives and baby tomato dish and grass-fed meatballs coupled with some toasted sliced bread. Between the five of us, this was a great start in terms of quantity. If I came again, I would probably get the baked goat cheese however. They were just so good with their light and crunchy toasted bread. We ordered 3 pies: the Iberian, the Spicy Sausage, and the Thirteenth Pie. I think the consensus between all of us was towards the Iberian. We just love meat! However the Thirteenth Pie was a delightful surprise with an interesting twist with the use of granny apples. Everyone loves apple smoked bacon, so they took small chunks of bacon and thin sliced apples and put it together into a pie! The thin sliced apples provide a nice textural crunch and slight sweet and sour twist with the bacon chunks. What stands out to me is the quality of ingredients. Like Antico, they don't need much cheese and sauce to deliver a satisfying bite. Though I do think Antico edges the rest out slightly in this category; but I will take it a step further and say that their bread is better than the likes of Antico and Varuni Napoli. It's just so satisfyingly crunchy and chewy. Service was outstanding and to top everything off, they gave us an extra pie because they had made one too many and were thoughtful enough to think that our group of five would enjoy it the most! Now that's pizza with a blend of Southern hospitality. The pies vary in price from $11 to $16 with appetizers hovering around $10. If you paid for parking, then you'd be hard pressed to pay this much. But they're positioning themselves with the likes of Antico and Varuni, and I would say they have definitely earned that spot. From a relative basis in the Atlanta pizza universe, the place gets a solid 5 stars.

Wine, pizza and service were all great. I'd say the best restaurant in the new plaza.

The location, atmosphere, pricing, portions and service were all good when I visited. However, the lasagna came out room temperature and it tasted salty. The pizza was tasty yet very greasy and not a lot to it. We had the pepperoni and there was no cheese the eye could see. No chicken parm' on the menu. Glad I tried it.

Well, this place is consistent - I'll give 'em that. The pizzas came out looking exactly like they do in the Yelp pictures, and that's what I was afraid of. After a single piece of the first pizza, the entire center of the pizza crust was completely soggy and after the second piece, the pizza was cold. Not to mention the toppings were skimpy, haphazard, and not even close to representing 'art' - three pieces on our Lamb Sausage pizza didn't even have sausage on them. And the Mushroom and Leek pizza we got was super bland. A liberal dose of hot pepper flakes was a last ditch (failed) effort on the majority of what remained of these limp, cold, pies. How this crust recipe made it through the testing phase is beyond me. I have had pizza from over 12 different US locations certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, as well as at least 5 VPN-certified restaurants in Italy from Campania to Puglia. Not to say that this pizza-making certification is the be-all, end-all - absolutely not. It does set a baseline for your tastebuds, though. VPN aside, there are countless other non-certified shops that specialize in this thin, wood-fired variety (like Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix, and Arturo's in NYC) that know what they're doing. The Thirteen Pies 'popover' style crust edge is so odd, dry and badly proportioned. You could fit a circumference of bratwurst in it. If you are one to discard your crusts, you will starve here. This is an awfully huge crust that just gets drier as the center of the pizza gets soggier. So unacceptable. And at $15/pie for 6 smallish soggy slices, a terrible value. It is fair to say that both pizzas we ordered were in the bottom 10% of pizzas I've had in my lifetime. The pictures tell the same story. If you *have* to eat here, try the apps and pasta and drink a lot. But you should avoid the pizza. It is so bad! Unless you love wasting your hard-earned food dollars - go right ahead. All this being said, the location is great, and the decor is sauna-sexy, all untreated, planed 2x8s all over the place. It's the wood that makes the interior good. But unfortunately, the pizza will embarrass you if you try to take a date here. You don't want that, do you?

These guys are still getting off the ground, so hopefully they can work out the kinks and achieve the five star experience they aspire to. I went for lunch with a colleague. The decor is fantastic and perfect for a new age pizza place with a modern twist on very Italian style pies. You can tell from the photos that they are accurately trying to do the round, very thin crust pizzas with the generous and doughy outer crust. Unfortunately the pizza was overcooked to the point where the center of the pie more closely resembled a crostini than a pizza. This also significantly impacted what is the normally delightful experience of finishing the outer ring of crust, instead making it excessively dry and crisp. The toppings on the Garlic and Sage white were lovely - a flavor packed punch of pizza. The Spotted Trotter Gianciale and Egg was rather forgettable; the meat didn't shine through and the scarlett frill was an odd choice that was difficult to eat and din't pair well with the pie - arugula may have been a better choice. Service was on the slow side and food took a bit of time to arrive. They have a delightful open kitchen, which unfortunately meant we could see the kitchen staff lackadaisically going about the preparation and cooking process. The pies are creative and ambitious, the decor is fantastic, and they're in a great location - so high hopes for future visits.

Thoroughly impressed with the quality of food. I went with my boss who was visiting from NYC and she approved (pretty big deal). I took a risk here bc it was my first time as well and couldn't personally endorse it beforehand. We had the meatballs and goat cheese small plates. Very tasty. The meatballs were super tender and the marinara was finger lickin' good. Dipped some bread and later my pizza crust in the leftover sauce. Mmmm... Goat cheese was goat cheese. I dunno, maybe I'm not a connoisseur of cheese enough to know whether it was particularly amazing goat cheese. I liked it, probably won't order it again though. The pizza had mushrooms on it and some other stuff. Meh, I'll spare you the details of each ingredient as they are clearly listed on the menu. I was very happy with the thickness, texture, and flavor of the crust. Balance of crunchy and chewy, just thick enough to support the toppings, and not too bland - seasoned just right that it was even good on its own, yet even better with toppings and leftover marinara sauce. No reservations accepted but I love that the space is big and can accommodate a lot of ppl, meaning quicker turnover and shorter wait times. Service was on point. Smiles and thoughtful cadence the entire time. Will def be back.

I finally made it over here which is shocking it took me this long. As a northern gal, pizza is a food group in my life. They do not take reservations so I didn't know what to expect for a Saturday night in Buckhead Atlanta. I called and spoke with a very friendly and helpful hostess that told me there were seats at the bar and there were high top tables available. The high top tables are quite large and easily seat 4 and are first come, first serve. When we pulled up and saw a line out the door, we were a little worried. As told, we got a high top table and it was plenty big for my party of 2. The food: We had the baked goat cheese app that has toasted breast slices, olives (yuck!) and pesto on top. It was very good. We also had a delicious mixed greens salad with candied walnuts and shredded pear. Wow! This salad rivals almost any in the city that I've had. The mixed greens are random and couldn't name most but they tasted like they were just picked from a beautiful garden in some picturesque organic field. I digress.... Cocktails: Great! Scene: It is lively, loud, and active energy. You wouldn't guess that this is a pizza place in appearances either. It's quite swanky with dark modern wood decor. The pizza: Meh! It wasn't bad but it didn't knock my socks off. To qualify, my favorite pizza in town is Varassano's and my 2nd favorite was Don Antonio's before they closed. I like thin bodied, delicate pizzas with limited ingredients but all fresh. We had the Iberian pig pizza. It was good but a lot going on. It was better than expected and would meet the expectations of those that like a party on a pizza and especially meat lovers. We had a pizza 'straight' which was basically a margarita pizza. The basil was sliced about hair thin and just sprinkled on top. I know there's an egg shortage but a basil shortage? Why get so stingy on it? We also had their pizza on the week. It was delicious but again, it's a party on a pizza. So why the "meh!"? I feel that overall that pizza was oily and the crust is baked up about 5x bigger than the body and had a weird texture. It tastes fine but I think it's brushed with too much oil. I want to be able to eat my entire pizza including crust and not just the center. I'm summary, I'm sticking with Varassano's and Avellino's. I'm glad I tried it and it's not a meal wasted but I won't crave it or strongly desire to go back.

I dined alone at the bar and was entertained by watching the cooks in the open kitchen prep and manage the open oven and had a very nice meal. The salad was fresh, not loaded down with dressing and a good portion. I had the "Good Pepperoni" (that's how it is listed on the menu) and it should really be called "Great Pepperoni". The crust was chewy but had just the right amount of toasty-crisp and the toppings ratio was well done. The atmosphere is casual with fun, noisy music, but not so overwhelming that it stopped me from reading my book.

A very nice neighbourhood pizza and pasta restaurant with an open kitchen. Fairly special pizza dishes plus staple pasta dishes like bucatini with pancetta, bolognese, and lasagna. I haven't true the pasta. Just dessert and pasta so that is what I will review. What I liked: 1) The pasta is excellent. The bolognese is one of the best I have had. The lasagna is made with pecorino instead of ricotta - ie the proper Italian way. While the pasta isn't fresh it is cooked perfectly - ie slightly softer than al dente but retaining a certain firmness and substance. 2) The pizzas (which I have not tried) are available with a gluten free crust. I am hoping to try these soon. 3) really nice dining room and atmosphere. The interior is wood and brick and feels both stylish and warm. Lighting is dimmed and creates a cozy and romantic atmosphere. Yet the restaurant is also spacious and tables are comfortably spaced to provide sufficient privacy for conversation. It's a nice place to dine. 4) service staff are very attentive and friendly. Maybe this is normal around here. I recently moved from Miami and there this would be considered special. 5) Huge bar with plenty of seating which makes this a great place for a casual dinner. What could be better: 1) Dessert selection. 3 options. Flourless chocolate cake didn't look great so I tried the zeppole with spice plum jam and honey. The sauces were not well selected and it would have been much better with banana purée and a chocolate sauce. I will try the chocolate cake next time. 2) They don't have team based service. If you ask someone other than your server for a dessert selection, they get confused and direct you to your server. They have told me they are working on this issue - so I'll be sure to update my review next time.

I went here on a crazy Saturday night! It was really busy, our wait was only 15mins or so! Not bad! We went to the bar and order drinks! I love to see actual bartenders, mixologist! Of course i ordered a drink with Bourbon in it, tasty, but yet, strong. I order the bolognese.. It was soo good! Nice, fresh and flavorful! My friend had pizza, that was fresh as well! You can tell that their ingredients are "in house" I'd return! Its a pretty restaurant and very pretty area! I also lucked up on street parking for free! (they took away the meters!) Try it

3 stars I know- coming from me? SHOCKER! The girl who's always rating 4.5+ on places. Ha. Well this place Thirteen pies- location is definitely key. This place is in the prime location no doubt. It's still an up and coming area so it's a bit quiet for now. My little party of 3; we on a Saturday early evening around 6ish PM. It wasn't overly packed. They actually have Valet and it is NOT validated. We were told they would validate. As we're leaving the lady said no. Valet there was $7 for about 1-2 hours. (Longer you stay-more you pay). Anyways, FOOD- we ordered this veggie pizza (actually not that bad). Crust was definitely over cooked but the melty cheese part was great. DRINKS: I just kept it simple with a sprite. Which by the way they poured water in my sprite TWICE.... At least ask and confirm if I'm drinking water or sprite. Guy didn't give a crap. Poured it and left. Not cool. People are kinda all over the place. (Some of the staff). Walking around dropping things making it a bit awkward for the customers. Anyways- overall the food was mediocre. I've definitely had better pizza before and I absolutely love pizza. I'd say I'd rather go to Felinis down the street and not even pay for parking and know my sprite will stay as sprite and my pizza crust won't taste burnt. This place definitely is new so it's got some fixing to do. Although I will say- the cleanliness of this place including bathrooms is spectacular. I love the set up and layout of this modern cute place. I honestly probably wouldn't go back just because their pricing and taste were not neck and neck. Pricing was way too high and the taste was mediocre. It'll be 3 stars from me..

Thirteen Pies opened tonight in the new Buckhead Atlanta mixed-used development. It's located on Buckhead Ave. right across the street from Fados. The menu includes greens and pastas, but their mainstays are the twelve regular pizza pies and the special rotating "thirteenth pie." Tonight, I had the Iberian, which is a combination of fennel salami, smoked provolone, soffritto, castevetrano olives, yellow tomato & old manchego. The Pies are about 12 inches and average around $15. They are thin and the restaurant recommends that each person order their pie; however, I think that one pie and an appetizer could be enough for two people. They also have a small selection of craft beers, about 30 or more wines and a selection of seasonal cocktails. The full menu can be accessed here: scribd.com/doc/241793321… One thing I liked about this place is that they make all of their pies fresh in the center of the restaurant and in front of the bar. It was neat to be abie to view the process from start to finish, including seeing the dough get tossed, the pie being put into their wood-fired pizza oven, and then being carefully finished by the chefs. My pie was very good, the service here tonight was excellent and the location could not be better. I will definitely be back!

I loved the baby kale salad and I loved the pizza. We sat behind the bar so I witnessed the pizza love making process. Yes, pizza is no longer junk food once you come here. The service was impeccable and the place was very inviting.

The Thirteen Pies on the Rise. My first review! Please read this review with some love. :) Food: Artisan pizza at it's finest. That's all I need to say. Every pie's taste is on point. It's a work of art, literally. The bread is unbelievably light, fresh, and softly seasoned. A group of us family-styled the baked goat cheese, grass-fed beef meatballs, Iberian, Spicy Pork, and the 13th pie! My favorite was the Spicy Pork! Parking: There's complimentary parking (+tip) near Shake Shack! Don't fall into the trap of paying $10 across the street. There's also a $4 lot a little further down the street heading away from the Shake Shack area. Attire: Don't be intimidated by the Buckhead-Atlanta atmosphere you're more than welcomed to wear a nice shirt and dark jeans. However, if you want to go a little classy-fancy then go for it! Cost: Expect to pay around $15 a pie and additional for anything else. Atmosphere: It's a bit loud as you walk in but the knee bumping tables allow you hear your company's voice just fine. Overall: I normally don't give places a 5 (not that you would know since this is my first review) but I'd give this place a 5. Why? Because they're thoughtful of their customers. We were a group of five that only ordered 3 pies. We initially thought it was going to be a lot of food since each 12' pie had 6 slices but the thinness of the pies were not enough to only eat 3 slices each. So when they realized they made an extra Spicy Pork, they thought to give it to us since they thought we'd appreciate it the most. Future: I'm definitely willing to come again in the near future to try the next featured 13th pie and their pasta! P.S. I could have lived without trying the cheese and meatball plates (I just don't know if those were worth $10-$12 each).

Easy in and out on a Saturday night. My neighbor suggested that we try this place. The pizza was delicious and the Cobb salad was light but satisfying. I had the chocolate torte for dessert and thought it was disappointing (somewhat dry). Both the pizzas and salads are shareable depending on how hungry you are. We were seated upon arrival (no reservation and I don't know if they take reservations). The service was great and the entire staff was accommodating and friendly. There is lots of parking close by but I don't think any of it was free. $4 for 2 hours is not bad for the "public" parking deck across the street. So while parking was reasonable, when you add the parking to the Buckhead prices you could have a much better meal elsewhere for the total price. We spent $60 for 1 pizza, 1 salad and 2 desserts + tip. While I'm not sure that I will be back, I'm happy that I visited.

Kinda dig this spot! I love that it is the most chill restaurant in the Buckhead Atlanta complex. Their pizza is way way WAY thin and you must be into this if you are going to like this place. It is definitely more sauce heavy than cheese so again, fair warning. The ambiance is casual but fun. Good date spot or a fun night out with friends. It can get loud so be ready for that as it could be a little hard to have any kind of serious conversation. The bar/kitchen is totally open concept and sitting at the bar can be a fun experience. Check it out!

Came during lunch one day and luckily beat the lunch crowd. Noticed the atmosphere was pretty laid back but everything was decorated nicely. There seems to be a good amount of seating. Seems to be seating only inside, none outside. Our server was very friendly and checked in on us enough. As for the food...it would have been nice if me and my friend's food came out at the same time, but it didn't. I had the bolognese and it was good. Just good. I might have thought it was phenomenal had I never had it at Davios (the BEST). I'd like to come back sometime and have a pizza. I tried my friend's spicy pork pizza and it was tasty. The ingredients seemed fresh and the pizza was plenty big for one person and then some.

If you like thin crust gourmet pizza, this is the place for you. We have eaten pizza all over (including Italy) and the Pizza here is some of the best we have ever had. We ordered a Pepperoni and a Spicy Sausage. The Pepperoni was complimented with fresh basil and truffle oil. They paired well with the perfect tomato sauce that had a nice twang. The Spicy Sausage came with onions and red peppers. I didn't think that I would like the onions. However, they added a nice dimension because they appeared to be sautéed with the red peppers and added an almost sweet undertone. Overall, not only are the flavors great, the crust is amazingly thin and crispy. A lot of times when you order thin crust, there is too much sauce and the crust gets soggy. This is not the case with Thirteen Pies. Tips We had a party of 4 and started with 2 pies...We ordered two more and probably could have eaten a total of 5 pies but were too embarrassed to order another one. Our server told us that a rule of thumb was about 1.5 × the number of guests. Their buttermilk parmesean dip is delicious. We didn't discover it until our third pie. Ask for it at the beginning. If it is not crowded, ask for a seat at the bar. There is a great view of the wood oven from the bar.

Crack an egg on top of anything and you've won me over! I ordered the 'spotted trotter and guanciale & farm egg' pie. The runny egg on top was key. The pizzas are thin crust but not paper thin or cracker-like. They have the perfect thickness for a good crunch and a little bit of chewy on the inside. My pizza came out and was a little bit cooler temperature than I usually prefer, so the cheese was not as melted as what you'd want for a perfect slice. However, they do have an incredible house made parmesean ranch sauce that you can ask for to get an extra cheesy kick.

We ordered the Lobster Pizza, the Baby Kales Salad, and several Grapefruit Rickleys! Everything was yummy and we will be back very soon! Sitting at the bar was a great choice. The staff is fun and watching the action in the kitchen added to the whole experience.

Pizza. Good, Lasagna. delicious. Crowd: Yep, long wait Service: Eh, maybe because they're new. I will try them again when patio season starts. At night, it's dark in there, can't see the dang menu. And i'm not old (no offence to our seasoned yelpers, just saying that baby arse candle at the table doesn't help).

Delicious ! I had the thirteen pie which tonight was Nueske's bacon ( anyone from the Midwest will realize this is awesome ) Brie, apple and believe it or not a red sauce accompanied by their delicious crispy crust! It was awesome. Good wine list and a couple of fun cocktails. Decent prices, two people can easily share a salad and pizza for around $30 I am ecstatic there is a walkable place in the neighborhood for a Good pizza and great environment. The staff could not have been friendlier. We sat at the bar and got great recommendations. SO MUCH better than Don Antonio's just a block away, which scolds the customer every chance they get and is overpriced for soggy pizza. Welcome to Buckhead Thirteen Pies. You just made a regular out of this pizza lover. And I am sure you'll win the hearts of the local neighborhood

My lovely bride and I stopped in at 6:00 pm for an early Sunday dinner. We shared the chopped salad and the roasted brussel sprouts. This time around, I had the Iberian pizza and I inhaled it, alone, very quickly. It is fantastic. Topped with fennel salami, smoked provolone, olive, yellow tomato, and manchego cheese, this is my favorite pie in the ATL. Again, my bride had the 13th pie, which was lobster. The pizza is thin crust, surrounded by a puffy and flavorful cornicione. Service is excellent.

Great atmosphere and a new twist on the pizza concept. This place gives pizza lovers a hip new scene to eat, drink and be seen. The prices are very reasonable for food and the service excellent....however, the lack of free parking puts this place on my do not go list. You will find yourself $10 in the hole before setting foot in the door, not what I expect for a simple menu. The parking will keep me away, because while the food is good...I don't think a Pizza should run a $50+ tab with parking.

So, I was pleasantly surprised by Thirteen Pies. Despite being in the Streets of Buckhead (aka crazy-expensive designer stores), it was reasonably priced and the staff were down-to-earth. It's nicely decorated but not fussy. Cocktail menu was good, pear salad was yummy, and the gluten-free pizza was delish! It's a thin, cracker-type crust (while the regular, gluteny version is thicker and chewy), but it stayed crisp and was actually a better base for the day's 13th pie, which was eggplant, sundried tomato and goat cheese. Parking is NOT free and quite expensive in the deck--although there were plenty of security guards, which was nice as I walked to my car rather late.

The service is almost non existent. Took a friend for a late lunch. Decided to sit at the bar to eat. After waiting about 10 minutes I finally called someone over and asked if we could order. She mentioned specials, but we told her that we were ready. After ordering pizzas and tea we waited approximately 10-15 minutes at which point I called her over again and asked if we could have the tea we ordered. She apologized and said that she forgot. She brought the tea and immediately walked away. I called her over again after a few minutes and asked if the restaurant offered sweeteners. She said yes and brought them. A different person came over and said that our pizzas were taking longer than expected and brought complimentary meatballs --Very nice touch. After we finished eating, however, we waited another 15-20 minutes for a check which did not come. I asked the hostess who was walking by if she could have someone bring us a check. We had to ask if we could order, ask for our drinks, ask for sweeteners, ask for the check. With the exception of the meatballs ,the only service we received was literally when we could get someone's attention and request it. The food was okay. It was not that busy, only a few tables filled and only one other person at the bar. Not a place that I would go back to.

How lucky was I to stumble upon this seemingly superstitious establishment known as Thirteen pies? Football has the "12th man" and now pizza has the "13th pie". If you are curious, the menu has 12 pies on the menu and the 13th is their daily special. I went long after the lunch rush which can sometimes be a "no man's land" for service but I was seated and waited on immediately. The waitress had a "never ending smile" which speaks volumes to the management. The menu had a great selection of salads and homemade pastas such as butternut squash ravioli. The wind was howling outside so I really wanted a warm beverage other than coffee. To my surprise, they had an adequate selection of organic hot teas! I asked for honey and lemon expecting to be shot down..."No problem", says my smiling server. For starters, I settled on the baby Kale salad with crispy anchovies and pickled radishes. I've had my share of anchovies but fried was a first. I actually enjoyed the salty/crunchy/critters! The baby Kale (never knew there was such a thing) was surprisingly tender and yummy. The dressing was delish and the radishes really gave the salad a "Ka-pow!" The only thing I didn't like were the breadcrumbs that permeated the salad. Note to Chef: (whisper) you can leave those off my salad next time. Now it was time for the pièce de résistance: one of the thirteen pies... I settled on the HOUSE-MADE CHORIZO Queso fresco, serrano & cilantro pesto pie and it was a home run! The pizza is 12" but it is waif thin. I know I should've stopped after those two courses but I had a little more room left in my middle aged belly so I decided to try the chocolate torte. It was pretty tasty but it needed to be heated up just a tad. This isn't your run of the mill artisan pizza pie place; it's the real deal. Try it once and you will probably end up trying all 13 of these unique pies. Mangare!

First trip to 13 Pies. The fried artichoke appetizer was delectable, the Bibb salad was crazy good and the Burrata pizza brought tears to my eyes. Top it off with our gorgeous server (think his name was Chandler) and we will be back!

When Don Antonio's abruptly closed we wondered what could take its place. Well right around the corner is Thirteen Pies featuring tasty thin, crisp crust pizzas. Love the texture and variety of toppings. They also have a great selection of salads- we tried the fancy house salad. Phenomenal lettuce, beets, Marcona almonds, Parmesan cheese and a terrific mustard dressing. Had the chocolate flourless torte for dessert- a really delicious cake almost of a cheesecake consistency. Good selection of beer and wine too. Only complaint is the parking situation at Buckhead Atlanta. The attendant at the $5 lot across the street was missing when we arrived so we had to valet park (the actual Buckhead Atl. garage has one hour complimentary parking but it's fairly far away from Thirteen Pies). In any event, we'll definitely be back.

Solid 4 star performance. One more solid...upgrade to 5. Ambiance and design---right on. Service was a win and very personable. Product is quality in all respects ---presentation, flavor, aroma and ingredients. We loved it. Prices reasonable. Definite win and will return...very soon. A minor negative: tile table tops are aesthetically pleasing...and nice. However, some unevenness to the tiles makes for a plate-rattling experience...that is kinda annoying.

The bibb lettuce salad is ridiculously delicious. The pizza is very tasty. It's hard to go wrong with anything on this menu. Also if you see a tall, thin, black guy serving, ask to be seated in his section. I forget his name, but he looks and talks exactly like Leon from Curb your Enthusiasm. He had a great attitude, and is an awesome server. I will request his section the next time i go there. The food is consistently good and the atmosphere at this place make it a must visit when you are around Buckhead.

This restaurant is great. A wonderful environment with an open kitchen. Good staff. Good drinks. My pizza came out slightly torn and the manager brought the pizza out himself and offer an additional free pizza to make up for the first one. Will definitely return.

Nice place. Great atmosphere & service. We had the "thirteenth pie" which is a daily mystery. Cool concept with the other 12 staying consistent on the menu. So our 13th had eggplant, roasted tomatoes, pesto and mozzarella on a light wood fired crust. The no flour chocolate cake dessert with caramel was good, too!

Good place for pizza and drinks. They do have some good salads, service was good and she was quite friendly. I wouldn't say that the pizza is out of this world, but it's good. They always have specials and the atmosphere is good. I'm sure I'll be back.

I live across the street from here so I decided to stop in and check it out. The interior is very cozy with an awesome view of the open kitchen. I order the special pie of the night which happened to be duck confit with fig. It was marvelous. The service was impeccable... They brought my friend a second pizza at no cost because they claimed the first one was "ripped". The manager stopped by twice to make sure our experience was top-notch.

Have been wanting to try and finally got a chance to go for lunch on a Wednesday. Parking is a little bit of a challenge if you do not want to do valet we did use parking garage little hard to figure out where to go but you get 1 hr for free . Had the special calamari $13 it was very good Had the special pork pie a little pricey at $15 and salty The lunch kale salad with crispy anchovies a little disappointed the anchovies good and the pickled radish very tasty but the salad itself the dressing was not very flavorful and bland. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. With all the great reviews I had high expectations and feel a little let down

This review is going to be pretty short because all I have to say is one thing...GET THE GOOD PEPPERONI. The truffle oil on this pizza makes it AH-MAZ-ING. I can't even. Note: I would recommend getting more than one pizza if you are eating for two as the pizza is thin crust.

Had a delightful lunch with my friend recently. We ordered the iberian pie and Bolognese. Both dishes were good but the pie was better. Service and ambience were nice. I'll come again!

Cool spot. The pizza was pretty darn good, the drinks were right on time, and the service was right. I loved the fact that they had the game on the screens. The decor is creatively unique. I'd definitely come back.

Very good. I wish the thirteenth pie changed periodically. It's been the same for the last 2 months.

Ambiance is fantastic. Ordered the orobianco pizza- whoa! It is extremely salty. Sent it back. The customer service is horrible. Ordered another pie and it tasted like bread with ketchup on it! Won't dine here again but if just want a nice glass of wine in a pleasant environment then consider it.

Really cool place! They call it 13 pies because the have 12 pizzas on the menu that u can choose from. In addition, every day they make a 13th pie which is the special of the day. I had the Chorizo pie w/o the Chorizo. The pizza was really go however, they are very thin.

Down grading my previous review for three reasons: 1) waiting for a table and there are no less than 5 empty tables and they have been empty for 15 minutes. This has happened before so not an odd occurrence 2) Trying watch a playoff game on their one TV. Turns out they do not get ESPN. Further, they only get over the air channels--meaning they do not even get NBC--the channel carrying the game tonight. Pitiful. Just pitiful. It's 2015. Rabbit ears went out a couple decades ago. 3) Last two times here have had to send pizza back because they were cold.

This place is super cool. I could not quit looking around, and checking out my surroundings. From the ceiling to the floor, it is clear that they are going to have to sell a LOT of pies to recoup their investment. I loved sitting at the bar and watching the pasta and pizza dough being made. Our bartender was really nice and recommended a draft beer that I absolutely loved. Some brewery near Piedmont Park. We shared a couple of small plates. The meatballs were delicious. The ricotta crostini was just okay. I'm excited to head back and try one of their pizzas, and be reminded of my new favorite beer!

Finally got a chance to tryout this place. We sat at the bar and got to watch the kitchen make our pizza. Great atmosphere and our waitress was really helpful. I can't remember the name of the pizza but we got the one with arugula on it. The pizza was great and the prices are reasonable given the high end location of the restaurant. I also like their concept of having 12 regular pies that are always on the menu and the 13th pie is always changing. I'll be back for sure.

  • Ansley D.

Hostess was a little rude and snippy trying to seat our group of 8. I ordered the Bb georgia salad and the meatballs. I split the salad with a friend, which was suggested, but when it came down to checks they couldn't split the item on our checks, so one of us had to pay for it. They need to work that out before the suggest splitting entrees. All around good atmosphere and location. Drinks were pricey and I thought the food was a little over priced for the amount you get.

Love the space, and the pizza. Perfectly cooked, thin and crisp. Had the mushroom and leek pie and ingredients were fresh and tasty. Everything looked great coming out of the kitchen. Appetizer menu looked really good and next time will be sure to try some.

Wow! What a gem! I was so happy to find this place in the new Buckhead Atlanta complex. It's so wonderful and homey and the food is amazing. The staff is awesome and they do a phenomenal job with food. We have tried the Pepperoni and the Lamb Sausage, both incredible. I've never had pizza like this... The crust is almost like a cross between a pie and a croissant - flaky and buttery. The open kitchen makes it great to watch your pie being cooked and you can really see the attention to detail. For instance, a squeeze of fresh lemon over the pepperoni pie and a drizzle of truffle oil. It made for a pizza unlike anywhere else in town. We will be regulars!

Popped in for an early dinner with a couple of friends. This is a fabulous spot in Buckhead. Great welcome amazing service and fabulous food. Our waitress was super attentive and helpful. When there was an error with my order and my pizza was going to take longer I was fine but they went out of their way to ensure I was happy. They ended up comping my pie and a desert. I could not believe such superb service especially as I had said it was completely fine. The pizza itself was divine and you can watch as they make it. I'd definitely recommend Thirteen Pies. It's really fabulous.

Once the shopping district gets its stores up and running, this place is going to be a hit! The perfect ambiance, this place is great for a romantic date for two or a group of friends. We ordered the calamari and brussel sprouts as our appetizers. The squid was wonderfully seasoned, lightly fried, and paired with sweet and spicy peppers which were a party-in-my-mouth of unexpected flavors. The pizza pie was great too. We got a basic pepperoni that was made fresh to order. And the olive oil they use in the crust takes the crust experience to a new level. The only critique I had was that the appetizers could have been more fresh.

This place is great. We sat at the bar and had Sunday cocktails and wine. The salad is surprisingly awesome. I had the Georgia Bibb salad which was a large salad, good to share for two, and super yummy. Lots of avocado and I could eat that for lunch by itself. Naturally we had to have pizza, the boyfriend and I don't see eye to eye on topics, so we always splurge for two. I had the orobianco which was absolutely delicious, and my man had the 13th pie (pie of the day) which was covered in lots of different kinds of meat. He really enjoyed his as well. The bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable. We will go back.

I wish I could give this 2.5 stars...but I am feeling generous this morning so I guess I will opt for 3. Went here this Saturday for a late dinner. It is located right across from Fado's. It's spacious inside and has a romantic/intimate ambiance. Our waitress had the personality of a wall. We ordered the pepperoni pizza with an egg, as well as lasagna. When the food came out it was lukewarm bordering cold....We were starving so it didn't really matter at that point. I personally felt the lasagna had ZERO flavor. Like nothing. This was surprising as a lot of people seem to like this. It just tasted bland is the best way to describe it. The pizza was good and the crust had good flavor. During dinner I kept my thoughts about the lasagna to myself. Fast forward to the next day and my hubby said "that lasagna had no flavor." LOL. So this was not just my taste buds...Validation! Seriously though, we both decided IF we went back we would never get that, but would stick with the pizza and hope it would be hot. P.S. the bathroom was really nice!

Went here last night on a Saturday. I was at first a little nervous about the wait but we were seated very quickly. Tables turn fast. Our server greeted the table immediately and suggested items that weren't on the menu. This was a big deal being that it was calamari night! My friend and I ordered Tha calamari for a starter and decided to share the lasagna and Good Pepperoni Pie for our entree. Calamari-fried to perfection but was very bland without the peppers. I had to squeeze a little lemon to get taste. Lasagna- really good. Very meaty! Pizza- the crust with truffle oil was amazing. ( we also added garlic) however, I felt as if the pizza lacked cheese because it was covered in pepperoni. That's all I could taste. Overall, I will be back! Welcome to Buckhead

My wife and I went to 13 Pies in December 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pizza is wafer thin, very tasty, and a great alternative to Atlanta's other noteworthy pizza establishments: Varuni Napoli and Antico Pizza.

Wanted to try this as it was the hot new place to be at. Overall I would say it was average. Went on Black Friday for dinner and it was not crowded at all. We were seated right away. I got the pepperoni pizza and added proscuitto. The crust was bland. The pizza itself was okay, I didn't really see any cheese on it. Being a cheese lover I was not too happy. Not sure if the other pizzas has more cheese? I would maybe go back and try a pasta. I just think if you specialize in pizzas then they should be amazing! There are definitely better pizzas in Atlanta like antico and verasanos. I think $18 for a personal size pizza is overpriced when I can get a nice size pizza at antico for the same price. The atmosphere was really cute!

Loved the ambiance- a very nice clean feel to it with cool design. Parking was tricky, as we needed handicapped parking and they are on the street. Food was excellent- My son and I shared the fried calamari with lime aioli for appetizer, followed by a kale salad (excellent) and then the spicy pork sausage pizza. A solid meal with great service! Definitely try it.

Charming interior with an open kitchen and delicious food from what we tried. We ordered 2 pizzas and dessert. The pies had tremendous flavor and I wished we had some dipping oil for the leftover crusts. I would order these two again in a heartbeat: OROBIANCO BURRATA MOZZARELLA - oven-dried tomato & basil pesto THE IBERIAN - salami, provolone, olive, yellow tomato & old manchego For dessert we ordered ZEPPOLE with spiced jam and honey for dipping. This reminded me of cake doughnut holes and was a bit dense, but the jam and honey were great accompaniments. Good service and good food - would definitely come back to try more pies.

This isn't going to be a well thought out review by any means. But, since I am still craving my lunch from last week I'm writing it now even though my brain isn't up to par today. First, the Iberian is everything everyone has said and more. I have not been to another comparable place in Atlanta (Verasano's, Antico, etc) where I still craved the pizza 5 days later. I met a friend for lunch prior to the new year. We went pretty early and got a nice booth - by the time we wrapped up the place was buzzing with activity. Simple, uncluttered / contained menu. Professional, friendly staff. We did the recommended "sharing" methodology and split the chef's choice ravioli (butternut squash) and the Iberian. I thought it was a completely reasonable portion for lunch - we each got around four medium sized raviolis and three slices of pizza (I would guess the pizzas are about 10-12 inches in diameter). Both choices were $14/$15 range. Not my usual lunch outing but I was so content that I didn't even care. As I've never been wowed by my multiple trips to Verasano's or Antico - I'm thrilled there's a higher end pizza option for me in the middle of Buckhead. I would definitely go back for dinner (multiple times, I'm sure!) Other notes: Parking was a breeze - did self park in the deck and the B1 entrance comes out conveniently right near the door. As an aside, the deck has nifty little overhead red/green lights that direct you to the open spaces. Valet and street parking were also options.

Probably the best pizza I have ever tasted in this city (no offense Antico I still love you), but this is a different animal all together. Upscale without being pretentious, the atmosphere is warm and fun. Very creative and appealing pizzas, with top quality ingredients. The staff is terrific. Sit at the bar to catch all the action. I will be back to experience more of this place very soon.

Food was really good, service was good, and atmosphere is great for a pizza place. We had a few small plates, all of which were good, and followed that with a coupe of pizzas and pasta. Service was good and they were all hands on deck which was nice. We did not wait for anything. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone.

Tasty pie, clean enviornment with complimentaty parking. Service was friendly. Limited menu and very tight space for leg room in booth, felt overly aware to be sure not to kick the person I was with.

I definitely wanted to try Thirteen Pies. I mean how many pizza parlors offer valet? Anyway, this place appears to be pretty popular. Lots of families with small children were there. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The calamari was decent. Each pizza had 6 slices that seemed smaller than those of other establishments. There was super thin crust on the bottoms and a big fat crust on the edges. The garlic and sage white pizza lacked flavor....so blaaahhhh. The lamb sausage pizza was unique....but blaaahhhh. I'm sorry to say that nothing aside from the good service would make me want to return.

Unfortunately I don't have any photos... because we inhaled our pizza. It was that good. When you go to a "fancy" pizza place like this, you expect high quality ingredients and toppings. Check. What set it apart for me compared to other solid za spots was the crust. Super light, airy, and crispy, with a nice touch of salt to it. Awesome. As for specifics, we had the Straight, Wild Mushroom and Leeks, Good Pepperoni, and the Iberian... there were four of us, so splitting four pizzas was just about perfect. All were amazing. I'd say the mushroom and leeks pizza is worth closing your app/computer right now, even if you just ate, and going to try. Great flavors. Service and atmosphere were top notch as well. Highly recommend, will be returning regularly.

The chopped salad isn't chopped! And it was all lettuce. Place is pretentious for a tiny pizza too. Need to bring up their game! We had the lamb sausage pie. Otherwise tolerable. But I can't get over the salad.

Absolutely loved this great twist on pizza! Located in the brand new Buckhead Atlanta they have complimentary valet for the complex literally right outside their door. It's dimly lit and not too overcrowded with a modern, wooden decor. We waited about thirty minutes for a table although there was available seating at the bar. Mainly younger couples all going out with friends or for date night. Once we were seated Valentina took care of all our needs from start to finish. Started with the shaved vegetable and apple salad. Wasn't sure about the combination of veggies and fruit but it was a fantastic tasty mix. Next onto the pizza; orobianco burrata mozzarella. Basically a fresh baked pizza pie with tomato and pesto. It splits perfectly into 6 pre-cut slices for two hungry people to split. The cocktail menu is great or you can opt for beer or wine. Ambiance is great and made for a great semi-casual night out. Will definitely go back based on excellent service, atmosphere and tasty fresh food.

I took my mom here for her birthday dinner. I really loved it! It is decorated wonderfully. Black brick flooring, lots of different types of wood, along with unique light fixtures. I thought the food was really good although the portions were smaller than I would have liked. Overall great experience!

This is not traditional pizza. Someone who adores the pizza at Antico or Varuni may be surprised at the texture of the pizza dough at Thirteen Pies, which is similar to pastry dough and slightly sweet. Think croissant, but less buttery. I'm a traditionalist, so it wasn't to my taste, but I can understand how others like the pizza dough here. The toppings were top quality. We had Good Pepperoni, The Iberian, and Parma Prosciutto. I probably won't be back, but Thirteen Pies will do well. The space was a little corporate, but appropriate for the area. The noise level was reasonable. Service was good. The pricing was a little high, but remember you're in the new Buckhead Atlanta mixed use project, where everything is supposed to be high end. My rating primarily reflects my disappointment in the crust. Pizza is highly subjective.

My husband and I were meeting some friends for drinks at Fado on a Friday evening, so we decided to leave early so that we could stop at Thirteen Pies for dinner before going to Fado. We were there around 6:00 and sat at the bar. An hour later the place was packed. We ordered the meatballs for an appetizer and a pie for dinner (it has arugula and prosciutto) and both were delicious. The staff was very friendly. Can't comment on parking cuz we had valeted at Fado. This spot is definitely worth checking out!

FINALLY a great pizza in Buckhead. Great service as well. We walked in and were told an hour wait...went to the bar and have NEVER had someone reaching over the bar to hand me a drink menu. Usually you fight to get up to the bar to get someone's attention. My new favorite!!!

This place is located in the new, trendy, and oh-so-fancy Buckhead Atlanta development. Thirteen Pies is housed in an upscale, modern building with ample seating and bar space. For a Friday night, the 35 minutes wait was to be expected. The hostesses were super friendly and sent us a text to let us know to "start heading back" because our table as almost ready. Loved that. We ordered the baked goat cheese as an appetizer, sampled a few wines before settling on some nice reds, and opted for the Iberian pizza. The goat cheese topped with pesto and cherry tomatoes was delicious, but the sliced of crostini were too hard for my taste. The pizza was good, but not as amazing as I'd hoped. Nice crispy crust, good flavor, but not bubbling with cheese like I like my pizza. The highlight of the meal was our awesome server, Brian. Seriously, in a world where good service really is an anomaly, this guy should be training people how to do it right. I'll definitely come back here and try one of their interesting salads, a dessert, and a different pie. One down, twelve to go.

Was not impressed. The service and atmosphere were amazing but as for the food nothing special. I don't see this place lasting long if they don't improve. I went with a group of 5 people and no one said they would go back.

We have been regulars at their Fort Worth TX location for several years and were thrilled when 13 Pies opened in the new Shops of Buckhead in Atlanta. Great service and excellent food! If you are looking for true Italian style brick oven flatbread this is the best in Atlanta (sorry Antico but it isn't even close). In addition to wonderful thin crust pizza., we highly recommend the Lasagna... Takes a few extra minutes but worth the wait. 12 pies are always in the menu and the thirteenth pie is their special of the day. We had the Brie cheese with Julienne style apples... Fantastic! Give this place a try... You won't be disappointed.

extremely delicious! I ordered the Good Pepperoni pizza and the baked goat cheese. the pizza sauce and pepperoni were perfect... despite a tad bit more olive oil than I care for in the goat cheese, it too was tasty. the decor of the venue is nice and reminiscent of an upscale pizza place without the pomp and circumstance. highly recommend the try... I was not in the least disappointed and already planning my return.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
