Wow from the outside you have the impression of a little dive bar. Guess what that exactly what it is. If you love a throw back to the days when free love and peace signs filled the streets and AM Radio or would like to see what it was like in those glorious 70s - "The Rusty Nail" is your place. This is a throw back in every sense of the word. The bar, the tables and the music. Stones play in the background and suddenly you are transported to another time. the Burgers are solid and bold. The beer is cold and the drinks are strong. The perfect dive bar!! My only recommendation is get a pinball machine and a pushing bag game go for broke! Peace Brother

Been here twice as one of my friend used to live close by. I still don't understand why she likes this place (may be its because it's close) but I had the worst service experience last time. I am a vegetarian and ordered for fries, she got it with bacon on top. When I asked her to replace it, she gave a very rude look. Post serving, she got busy over the phone with her boyfriend I guess as she was screaming over the phone. The location is very dull. 1 star is for the patio. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

Get your tetanus shot before entered this rusty nail. There's about 10 parking spaces around the building with folks double parking next to the building. The desk was full and we couldn't sit inside because of all the cigarette smoke, actually couldn't even see the back wall. With on 3 beers on tab, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. I gave them 4 stars without eating here as the benefit of doubt.

So this place is my neighborhood hole in the wall...nothing fancy...just a laid-back place to go for greasy bar food and to watch the game. The place can be a bit smoky because they do allow cigarette smoking but if you can get beyond that's it's a pretty chill spot.

People have described this as a bit smokey, this is a HUGE understatement for those that do not care for smoking environments. We were there for about 90 minutes and we had to take shower as the smell of smoke had seeped into every article of clothing, our hair and skin. Aside from this, we had an appetizer of tater tots and it was described as a basket which was actually a small oval side plate with a single layer of tots. The service was good with the waitress being very attentive and not a long wait for anything which was great. It seems like a dive bar that people describe has having character which really equates to being old. It seems like a local dive bar. As a tourist, I would seek out different local establishments than go here again.

Upon on entrance felt kinda wierd going in... just because the average customer seems to be a regular. Homely dive bar that makes you feel comfortable; strong drinks and good bar food. Yes it is smokey inside but offers outdoor seating as well. The service is comforting.

This place is beyond awesome! Very chill and you feel like family! The waiters are so awesome and the drinks aren't too bad! Totally recommend after a long day of work.

We moved here a couple years ago and have struggled to find a good bar burger. Stumbled on The Rusty Nail accidentally and were thrilled to find their claim of "Best burger" was true! It's not much for atmosphere - really qualifies as a dive bar - but the burger was outstanding! We live 50 minutes away and went back twice just for the burger!

I spent under $10 for what I thought was a pretty good meal. The menu reads like drunk food but tastes like sober food. I ordered a sandwich that had turkey and bacon on it (I can't remember the name), and was expecting cold cuts. Instead, the meat was moist, yet not overflowing with grease! Admittedly, my server smelled strongly of smoke. My friends and I were eating on the patio, not even having entered the restaurant. I kept thinking she was a chain smoker who took breaks in between each check on our table. But, because of a receipt error, I went into the restaurant and learned it was a smoking bar. Not surprising in GA, but it clarified things for me. So, my tip is to eat outside if you don't like to mix smoke with your food. Otherwise, I can see myself stopping by here a few more times to try out some of the other crazy items they've cooked up on their menu.

This is my local spot when in and around the Sandy Springs area. Not a place you stumble upon, more of a destination spot. Dark, smokey, cheap beer and a good jukebox. The bartenders are always friendly - if you are there, hopefully Angie or Lisa are working (they know how to treat a good patron). And if you are really lucky, Robin Upchurch will be on the guitar! Shots are always strong, there's always a dart game going on (and REAL darts, none of this sissy electronic crap) and the crowd is always friendly. If it's sunny, you absolutely must sit on the porch on a Sunday with a burger and a bloody mary - it's basically a right of passage if you are an OTP'er like myself :)

The sign out front says "Best Burgers In Town" and they ain't tellin' no lie. My office is very near by, but I always overlooked the place because I knew they smoked inside. I happen to love ambiance, so I just figured this wasn't the place for me. One evening though, while working late, we decided to order take out and give it a try. I'm so glad we did!! The burgers are fantastic!! A real handmade patty, with real meat and cooked perfectly medium, just like I like it. The bread was soft and butter grilled. I swear the tomatoes were even sweeter than normal, too. I love their fried okra, too. A friend ordered the chicken tenders and those were great. We'll be back and I suggest you go there, too. If you don't like smoke; call ahead to order and get it for take out. You'll be glad you did!

I've got to give the Roswell rd. Rusty Nail a five star review simply because it's the coolest place I've found to hang out, drink and eat good food in the Sandy Springs area. Dark, smokey and comfortable, the pen marked walls with "the drinking squad" and "first date 6-10-95" make this place even more quaint and personable. Limited draft beers but good prices, great daily specials and awesome burgers/chicken sandwiches. Live music occasionally- but when there's not a musician there are usually people singing impromptu karaoke (without an actual karaoke machine) and swaying mugs in hand. Good service, sweet staff and cheap plates with heaping servings. Rusty Nail is the place I fall back on whenever I want to be in a crowd but not overwhelmed by one. You should check it out!

This place is a dive but its one of my favorite places to chill and have a beer. I haven't eaten there and it's smokey but I'm a smoker so I don't mind. If you want a beer and want to go somewhere that you don't have to worry about getting all dressed up for then this is your place!

I've only been here once for drinks and it was exactly what I had been expecting. Dark, dirty and smokey. It was wonderful! The server was friendly and brought our drinks quickly. She was super proud of their dessert, but we declined for now. I am still thinking about it, a month later, so I guess I'll be back to try it out one day!

If you are in the area and prefer a dive bar with a mixed crowd. This is the place. Food is great I ordered the New Orleans Chicken sandwich. It was excellent. Drink prices are not high with a heavy pour. Bring a sharpie with you and graffiti your booth. They are covered. Our waiter was very friendly and fast. When I return to my friends place to hang out. I wil take another trip to the Rusty Nail! They are known for their famous burgers, though I was hamburgered up that weekend. So I didnt get a chance to try one.

Burger Paradise. Everyone talks up H&F's burger and they should because they are great....However, the Burgers at the Nail are awesome. The grill proabably hasn't been de-greased for 10 years and so you get such an amazing flavor! It's a legacy of Burgers from decades past. If you are a burger lover and havn't been to this place you are lost. It is not very kid appropriate however. I took my daughter here once and she didn't care for it much because it reeked of smoke. Dark and smokey booths w/ a somewhat roudy crowd. Lots of locals drinking their day and nights away. The drinks are great, the burgers are great. Overall its the best burger joint in Atlanta but a can't rate it higher than a three because its just a bar.

decent bar food... and yes i tried the burger.. it was very good... not great. the real story here is the ambiance: dark, smokey, but yet lively. clientel: the divorced country club house wife, the red neck construction worker, the young professional, the out of work dance instructor, the wanna-be hipster college guy, the weird girl that may or may not sell you something in the bathroom, and the hot server from the restaurant down the street all mingling together and enjoying it. it can be a little intimidating if you are a newbie, but not to worry, order a drink, smile, put a dollar or two in the kickass jukebox, and you will be right in the mix in no time...

I started smiling as soon as I saw the stained glass Elvis on the front door. Obviously somewhere with that much taste & decorum has a lot going for it. Once inside, there are small wooden booths that almost resemble thrones. I resist the urge to whip out my Sharpie & add to the colorful graffiti that surrounds me. I am fascinated by the apparent fishing network programming going on & I am so fascinated I miss my mouth & get wing sauce down the front of my shirt. The mashed potatoes have a few lumps in them & I gobble them down in a few seconds. The burger itself is grilled exactly how I asked for- medium (sad when you it happens so rarely you get excited by it). The burger has been doused in wing sauce and then piled high with jalapenos. Luckily the waitress was quick with refills on my big glass of water although I question her judgment when she reveals she is a vegetarian. (The horrors!) There is plenty of good people watching to be done while I am enjoying my burger . All together a very good burger but if I was to eat there again I'd get it to go since I smelled like smoke for hours after I left.

Best Burgers in Atlanta, it is as simple as this. I have never eaten anything else there because I couldn't imagine not having one of their Red and Blue Burgers every time I sit in the dark and smokey booth. The Red and Blue Burger is an amazing thick burger cooked to order, covered in hot sauce, jalapenos and blue cheese. It is so messy but so amazing, accompanied with their fries for the sole purpose of soaking up all the drippings from the burger is simply perfect. - Nothing else to say!
