My family comes here nearly weekly lately. We come for the consistent quality of food, the friendly service and the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. I default to the chopped beef brisket and vary my sides. Everything that all of us have tried ha been good so far from the baked beans to the beef ribs to the corn dogs for the kids to the fried okra that's as addictive as crack cocaine....maybe not that addictive but close. One of my favorite parts is the Carolina style "dip" or sauce. I lived in Lexington, NC for a while and this "dip" is the closest thing I've found to the original stuff in NC in Atlanta. I strongly recommend this place for whatever kind of BBQ you're searching for.

When I came here, I was craving BBQ all week. I was not disappointed! I had the pulled pork sandwich with Mac & Cheese and the collard greens. Delicious! The traditional sauce and the spicy sauce together on the pulled pork sandwich was great. Will be back.

Just solid BBQ. Pig-N-Chik has been in Atlanta for many years. There are three locations (Roswell Rd, Peachtree Industrial, and Briarcliff). This location on Peachtree Industrial can be found in an old, small brick building. It's a classic family-style BBQ joint, popular with locals including the Chamblee Police Department. You order and pay upfront. Pick-up and takeout orders are common. Drinks such as water and sweet tea are self-serve out of large metal canisters. Disposable silverware, napkins, and condiments such as Texas Pete Pepper Sauce (the vinegar sauce with green peppers, a favorite of mine) are also self-serve. Like other BBQ restaurants, assorted BBQ sauces and a roll of paper towels are provided at each table. If dining in, food is served to your table on disposable plates, which you throw away yourself once you're done eating. There are three BBQ sauces: a traditional sweet red sauce, a peppery, vinegary red sauce, and a mustard-based sauce. The traditional sauce is inside a squeeze bottle. The latter two sauces are inside glass bottles with screw tops. I prefer the traditional sauce. It's in line with the standard BBQ sauces you find on most Georgia BBQ. Try all the sauces and see which one(s) you like best. Pig-N-Chik has everything you'd expect of a typical BBQ joint: pork, chicken, beef brisket, pork ribs, turkey, even salmon and tilapia. Beef ribs are available on Tuesday and Thursday. The meats are available in sandwich form, on plates with side items, and by the pound. They also have wings. Sandwiches run about $6-7 each and you can add sides for about a couple dollars more per side. Plates start around $9. I always like to order plates when I go to BBQ restaurants. Pig-N-Chik offers three different plate sizes: small (5 oz meat), medium (8 oz meat), and large (11 oz meat). That's interesting because most BBQ restaurants do not offer different sizes. It's nice they give you the option here. The small size should suit most folks just fine. It's comparable to standard-sized plates elsewhere. Something Pig-N-Chik is known for are its "Redneck Nachos." There are fries smothered in cheese and topped with pork and BBQ sauce. I'm not a fan, but lots of people seem to love it. I like the chopped pork and pork ribs. You can have the pork pulled or chopped. I've noticed the definition of "pulled" and "chopped" pork can vary from restaurant to restaurant. At Pig-N-Chik, pulled pork means thick, chunky strands. Chopped is more "shredded," smaller pieces. I prefer chopped in this case. Both the pulled/chopped pork and pork ribs have consistent smoky flavor. When it comes to BBQ, I normally prefer pulled pork over all else (even beef brisket), but I think I like the pork ribs at Pig-N-Chik the best. They are delicious. The pulled/chopped pork can be tough and dry at times. Still not bad though. In general, the sides are good and comforting. I've tried the mac and cheese, Brunswick stew, baked beans, fried okra, and collard greens. There's nothing outstanding, but nothing bad either. Simply no surprises and if anything, they've got that home-cooked feel. My favorites are the fried okra and collard greens. The collards are prepared the traditional way with bits of pork, making the greens a bit more savory. I like to load Texas Pete vinegar-pepper sauce on my greens. Service is good. Orders are filled quickly. Sometimes, the kitchen runs out of particular items (e.g. beef brisket). Overall, Pig-N-Chik BBQ is A-OK BBQ. Miscellaneous note: The restaurant has TVs inside so you can watch news and sports.

Came here to get some food for my girlfriend and to kill some time being 5 pm on a Friday. My girlfriend was in the mood for some BBQ, found this place in here, reviews seemed good so decided to try the place. She got the medium sized pulled pork, steamed broccoli, mac n cheese, pickles, and banana pudding. The price was $17 and some change. She thought the pork and broccoli was yummy, not impressed with the mac n cheese, pickles were nice and crunchy, and the banana pudding was ok but disappointed that it was literally ju add the banana flavored pudding but she liked the moon pie they put on top. She also used their BBQ sauce which was delicious. The food came out really fast, but we also were the only ones in the place at the time. She rated the food 3 stars, I gave 4 for their decorations. Might come back, but definitely won't get the banana pudding again. All in all we're satisfied.

So very disappointed! Ordered a bunch of food for family and paid $115 for the least amount of actual BBQ in my life. $30 for a tray of chicken pickin's?!? Won't be back. Save your money

Solid bbq and they deliver. They have a punch card loyalty program. Their sauce selection is good and there is a good selection of food on the menu.

Best pulled pork, best potato salad, best slaw! Hell best everything BBQ in Atlanta! Brunswick stew great! Owners down to earth, staff very friendly! What else can I say!

Had the pulled chicken plate with okra and mac&cheese. Everything was very tasty and I'd definitely return for the food. The establishment, albeit older, appeared clean and orderly. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the young lady working their counter was rather curt. Not necessarily rude but pretty unfriendly and acted as if she despised her job.

Great BBQ. This particular one is nice to sit, relax and enjoy some good lunch or dinner. And yes, I'm a card carrying Pig-N-Chik rewards club member.

What kind of barbecue joint doesn't sell chicken on the bone? They don't offer beef ribs and the pork ribs were 80% fat. Collards and Brunswick stew were okay. Mac n cheese and banana pudding were horrible. Like really really bad. So bad I wanted to drive by and throw them at the building. But I contained myself.

4 stars for pork ribs! Everything else like pulled pork and sides below were 3 stars. Highly recommend pork ribs!

I've avoided this place for so long because of the name. The name Pig-N-Chik seemed to conjure images of greasy strips of fried fat and Nascar. Boy was I wrong. The ribs and pulled pork are some on the most tender I have ever had. The collared greens and steamed broccoli is well seasoned and delicious. The service was friendly and I didn't feel like a fish out of water. Tip:Wings are only 50 cents when the Braves game is on! :) How to: Order at counter. Wear: a bib and a baseball cap.

Let me start this review by saying that I am probably the only person in the world you will ever have declare that OKRA is my favorite food. Now that's out of the way...let me start my review. I currently live in Maine where okra is quite scarce, even in the grocery stores. So, when I have one of my work trips to Atlanta, I try my best to find some. Not knowing Atlanta well, I decided to do a search for 'okra' on Yelp and 'Pig-N-Chik' pops up. I check the menu, see fried okra, so definitely ordering that! Scanning the menu I see smoked wings...What?!?!? Definitely ordering that! Then, to make sure my order meets the minimum for delivery, I decide to order the collard greens. Ok, I know this is a risky choice b/c everyone don't know how to cook greens, but I figured if the greens are bad at least I have the okra. I place the order for delivery to my hotel with no problem. When the order arrives, I could smell the goodness permeating from the bags. I popped one of the fried okra in my mouth...excellent. I took a bite of a smoked wing...perfection. Then, with my palate already satisfied, I tried the greens...and well, I closed my eyes and squirmed with delight. Even the greens were good! All that to say...I HIGHLY recommend Pig-N-Chik!!! I can't speak for all the food on their menu, but if you get the fried okra, smoked wings, and collard greens, you might squirm with delight too!

DO NOT BUY RIBS HERE! Bought two lbs here last night. Got home n opened the bag. The ribs were a grayish brown n soft all over. The inside was not really cooked and were a consistent deep pink throughout. All of the ribs that should disappear with proper cooking, eg the fat, was still there soft and white. Just a total mess. Taste was not something I want to repeat. They have been in the oven all day at 250 F and I will try them again tonight but it is not worth the trouble with another BBQ place just down the road.

Great Pulled Pork !!! Not a fan of the mac-and-cheese but the greens are tasty. Finally made it to check out this place and it was very good! The mac-and-cheese is lacking as it needs more cheese but I will not order it again. The pork is great here and the price is reasonable.

This is a small location off of P'tree Industrial Blvd you can smell the meat cooking outside the place when you drive up. There are a few TV's around which kept me occupied while I waited for my food. I had the ribs and pulled pork. Both were tender juicy and delicious a perfect meal for a Sunday afternoon watching football.

I've drove by this place numerous times and who knew how good it was. It's fast and affordable. The stew, french fries, & fried okra was okay. But, the pulled pork makes up for it. The meat was tender with sweet BBQ sauce on the side. I actually came back the next day to order the same thing.

Far too expensive, completely not worth it. A plate with a little bit of meat and two sides is not worth $13. Not mention it was rather bland. Find somewhere else if your very hungry...

The food is good. Very good smoke flavor meats. The meat melt in your mouth not in your hands. Wow the food made me soo happy. Real BBQ

For openers, if you believe the best barbecue is always found in the worst part of town, in a place with bars on the windows and just enough grease on the tables to write your initials - then, this isn't it. What it is, is the second rendering of what has become a very popular place for barbecue... and where it is, is in a strip mall along a not so glamorous strip of Peachtree Industrial. Pig-n-Chik #2 (hereafter referred to as PnC2) opened its doors with a reputation already made... PnC1's (on Roswell Road inside the perimeter) pulled pork is generally recognized to be among the best, if not The, in the area: nice, juicy, smoke flavored 'cue with occasional bits of great char. The sides are basically the same: great stew (bits of a lot of things floating about - all of which combine to provide a unique flavor), just average slaw (no real identifiable or unique flavor), baked beans that are about the same as you find in most places), French fries (crinkly, fresh from the freezer), excellent fried okra and some really good collards... The real advantage PC1 has over number two is two fold: First, Peachtree Industrial doesn't have the great seasoned pork rinds that come as a side, and the folks on Roswell Road don't serve their ribs smoking hot. Our rib order at #2 was literally too hot to eat when the friendly server brought our order. Why? Probably because they were being kept "warm" in a too hot warmer. And what's the problem with that? Well, it cooks them all over again. So instead of getting good smoke flavored ribs, you end up with what can best be described as stew meat with bones - that all but falls off the bones. Tourists who don't know any better think that the ribs they're eating must really be good if "the meat is falling off the bone." The meat on ribs cooked low and slow should be tender, but not falling off the bones. PnC2 has a great staff, friendly folks at the counter and delivering the food to your table. Their sweet tea matches up with most all others in Atlanta and they offer a small, medium and large option on most plates - touching all the bases as they pertain to appetite and cost. They have three sauces: a spicy that really isn't; a Carolina mustard based that is fairly good if you don't mind the esthetics, and a solid sweet sauce... almost thick enough to hold your fork (plastic) upright. A distinct flavor that is unique to PnCs 1 and 2. Have several bottles on the shelf at home. The Brown Shoe Gourmet has spent a lifetime in pursuit of the perfect barbecue... Peachtree Industrial's PNC2 isn't it... but if you're up for some good pulled pork, you won't be disappointed. Looking for pork rinds or some decent ribs - you will.

This is my benchmark for BBQ. I have been going here for years. I got my family and dozens of friends hooked on it. This place is 100% what you want in a BBQ joint. Local atmosphere. Just clean enough. And damn good Q. For all you die hard BBQ fans, give this place a try. Pork is always moist and tender. Good smoke ring and bark. They don't douse it in sauce like they're trying to hide anything. They offer a lot of great meats, I'm just a fan of the classic pulled pork plate. As for sides, the french fries are great - always crispy. Okra is on point. And the Brunswick stew is among my favorites. Get there early for lunch, because everyone else will be there too. Basically, whenever I try other restaurant's BBQ, I ask myself, "Is this place better than Pig-N-Chik?" - Usually the answer is "No." Bottom line. If you haven't been here, go. If you have been, I'll see you there next time.

Pig-N-Chik is located in a small strip mall (if you could call it that) on Peachtree industrial. It's not hard to find and there is plenty of parking. Both those qualities I think are big pros. The restaurant itself is medium sized with multiple table configurations to accommodate various group sizes. I'm not really sure why but my first impression of the place as I entered was "clean", another big pro. So far my experience at Pig-N-chick had been positive. As we entered we were greeted by the woman behind the counter, and after looking at the menu we approached the counter and the same lady efficiently took our order. I decided on the combo plate which comes with chicken, pork, beef and 2 sides. They had several side options with the entire usual suspect such as Brunswick stew, fried okra, baked beans etc. I went with the fried okra and the mac and chees as my two sides. Just as a note, sodas are in a can and therefore not refillable. However, the lemonade, sweet and un-sweet teas are refillable. Approximately ten minutes after ordering I got my food. The food served on a partitioned plastic plate and had a decent amount on I. However, I did feel the serving of mac and cheese and okra was a bit on the smaller side. The mac and cheese to my surprise was very good. The macaroni was not over cooked and the cheese was melted with a good consistency. The next item on the dish was the fried okra which was disappointing. The okra was breaded and was a bit cold. The Main part of my plate was covered with meat. As previously mentioned there was beef, chicken, and pork. The beef and the pork were good rating about 4 out of 5 . The addition of their sauce did improve the experience, however only marginally. Overall Pig-N-Chik gets a 4 out of 5 stars for good BBQ in an above average portion. It lost a star for the sides being on the small side. I will be going back.

Yeah, I'm definitely still a fan. Ate here Friday for the first time in a few years. Staff = friendly and helpful. Sweet tea is good. Free refills too. Pull pork is still outstanding. A sweet sauce, a spicy, vinegar sauce, and a mustard sauce are available for your taste. The sweet sauce is definitely sweet; and the spicy sauce has a smell of Tabasco but really isn't all that warm. The baked beans, while nothing special, are good. The brunswick stew is really good with just the right mix of goodies and consistency. I need to get down here more often. It's still some of my fav BBQ around.

Their smoked wings are heaven in your mouth hole. Best wings I think I've ever had. Anything smoked on the menu (which is almost everything) has great flavor. Outstanding brisket. Amazing smoked turkey. Not a fan of the giant slice of wonder bread that comes with the plates, nor am I fan of traditional blues music which is all you'll hear, but neither will effect my rating, because their smoked wings are that good. If you get wings next door while this place is open, you should be slapped.

I love BBQ and enjoy trying any BBQ place that is recommended. I have tried Pig-N-Chik more than once now, not because it was recommended, but because it was close to where I happened to be at the time. I have yet to be pleased with my decision to give them another chance. I have ordered the medium pork platter that comes with two sides for about $12 (that does not include a drink that runs about $2) and, in short, it is just ok. The portions are respectable but all of the food, to include the pork, collard greens, coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad, macaroni, and stew, are just ok AT BEST. It is overpriced and, to make matters worse, the staff has consistently been "less than feiendly". There are plenty of much better BBQ places around! I would recommend saving your money and taking the time to drive to one if you truly want good BBQ.

Now maybe this is because it was later in the day, but the BBQ here is just too dry. I like a moist, melt in your mouth pulled pork and the same with brisket. I HAD to sauce each of these to make them edible. Now mind you, it was nice and smokey, but LORD was it dry. I got the #2 platter that had smoked wings and two sides along with the beef and pork. The wings were pretty darned good. The fried okra was delish and so was the Brunswick stew. I also like the freshly fried pork rinds. But again, the money spot meat was less than optimal.

Here's a rundown of what we got: Pulled pork - it was definitely smoky, but also stringy and dry. Beef brisket - Less smoky, not flavorful, and also much dryer than I thought brisket should be. Fried okra - Super greasy, but also super tasty. The breading comes apart almost as soon as you put it in your mouth, but it's still crunchy. Macaroni and cheese - Sooooooo good! There's no egg or breadcrumbs, but it's extremely flavorful mac and cheese. Best I've had in a while. Lemonade and Iced Tea - extremely on-point! Mix the two for a great Arnold Palmer. Service - not super friendly, but helpful. The latter is definitely more important to me, They did their job for sure. It wasn't very busy when we went, so maybe we got some older meats. There were definitely a few employees taking their smoke breaks. This was only our first visit, so we'll probably try it again.

I stopped by and got the pulled pork plate, stew and mac and cheese. It takes a minute to figure out the flow of the place. Meaning, where the utensils, ordering, drinks etc are. It would help if the staff assist you in this when you order. The food was good, hot, and served quickly.

My favorite BBQ place in Atlanta. Good smokey pork, great sauce. All the things that make a good BBQ good come together at Pig N Chik. Starting with a friendly family atmosphere that always reminds me of my aunts front porch in summer, good smells, good food, good friends. It continues to the food. Their smoked meats are always just right. Their pork is beautiful, excellent bark, nice pink smoke ring, tender and well just right all around. If you are in town for work, vacation or live here you need to make time to visit the folks at Pig N Chik you will not be disappointed.

While I've never been to the actual restaurant, I have noticed it driving by on PIB. It is tucked into an old little strip mall shortly after passing Wal-Mart, I believe. I'd always wondered if their BBQ is any good, and now I have an idea. My office had Pig-N-Chik cater our meeting. We got brisket, pulled pork, chicken, steamed broccoli (an attempt to be healthy?), baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad and hush puppies. I tried the pulled pork, chicken, broccoli, baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad. I topped the meat with their sweet BBQ sauce. First off, the meats were very good, in my opinion. While the meat was not the most tender I've had, it was decent. The BBQ sauce was excellent. Broccoli was broccoli... glad it wasn't too mushy, just lightly steamed. The baked beans were rather generic. The cole slaw was good, nice and peppery. And lastly, the potato salad had a nice tang to it. I guess it was vinegar-based. I am not sure when I will get to visit the restaurant itself, but here's to hoping my office orders from them again soon!

Alright, we gave in a went to pick up Pig n Chik again.... It was freaking delicious. The pulled pork is just fantastic and smokey. Great baked beans, good wings (better than wing factory next door) collard greens have pork in them YUM! And the staff is so friendly and awesome. I hope they fired that crappy delivery Guy because we're not going to stop eating here, possibly never getting it delivered again but, definitely not going to stop eating the food. Yum. Jesus

Wait, what??? There's fish on this menu!!! You absolutely must try the hot smoked salmon plate here. It's absolutely amazing. Fresh, flaky, moist and oozing flavors I've found a new favorite lunch spot on this side of town. Getcha some!!!!

Went there 2 weeks ago ordered the ribs, mac and baked beans. The ribs were so over cooked the bones took no effort to break in half. The meat that fell off the bone was very dry and I have a feeling they had sat in there hot box the day before cooled overnight then reheated again. The mac and cheese was very bland and disappointing. The beans just tasted like bushes baked beans loaded with sugar and pork scraps big deal. Overall I will never go back for there bland boring so called bbq.

Excellent BBQ. I have gone about 6 times during lunch and there is always a crowd. The wait staff is always very friendly and upbeat. I would recommend this place if you in the mood for a pulled pork sandwich at lunch time!

Can't say that I was at all that impressed with the meal. For what was paid, the portions were downright skimpy and the sauces were vinegar-based. About the most amazing were the greens.

Dependably, reliably delicious barbecue joint, especially for pulled pork. Unfortunately, this location has been closed for roughly the past month. Anyone know what's going on here? My lunchtime crew and I have been jonesing for the pig and this is our closest favorite. The management has a sign up saying other locations are still open. There are piles of furniture and boxes inside. (**Update: Re-opened March 23. Still tasty.) When it re-opens, a few comments: - I don't agree that this is a good place for groups. The max you can probably get in here on a typical lunch day is four people, unless you split up. Tables go fast from 11:30 a.m. till about 1:30 p.m. - This is not my favorite mac-and-cheese, if you want that as a side. Go with the veggies instead, or just a barbecue sandwich and fries. Brunswick stew is tasty, too. - Some of the 'cue servings come in portions of either "small," "medium" or "large." It took me a few tries to understand that "small" barely fills me up and "large" is almost too much to eat. If you're at all hungry, get a "large" portion. - As noted elsewhere, I'm a veteran BBQ fan and prefer my 'cue chopped or chipped, not sliced or pulled. That said, I still endorse this joint.

At 9:04 I phoned 770-451-1112 to place an order for a 20 pc and cheese fries and I added an additional 5 pc wing. The guy who answered the phone repeated my order and gave me a total of $27 and some change. An older lady delivered 25 wings at 9:39pm 10/02/2014 we paid her $32.00 and after we began to eat we noticed that the cheese fries ordered were not in the bag. I then called to inform them that they forgot to place the cheese fries with the delivery woman and was informed that the restaurant has closed and as I informed the young lady who answered she stated that "he did not charge you for the cheese fries" I then explained to her that he repeated the order back to me and it matched the online menu prices. I was then informed that the prices had changed and the menu I have may not show the price difference. I then explained to her that I am looking at the pricing online and she stated it is wrong online as well. At this point she says sorry and to have a good night and hang up the phone. I then call back to speak with the manager and the man who answered says he is the manager and I then explain the situation previously stated and he truly couldn't care less. I know you may not make much per year but since when does that give you the right to outright give HORRIBLE customer service. Even if the prices were not updated online it should be honored and to add insult to injury when I add all the listed prices and add tax with the cheese fries it's pretty much dead on. I can assure you that I will NEVER patronize this hell of an establishment EVER AGAIN. I may even express my distain to others in the parking lot while I gladly send my business to Wing Factory next door. Yours Truly, Obviously Upset

My complaint is this place is just too small! There was pretty much no where to sit when we came. We ended up sharing a table with an older gentleman there. At least he was very nice and we a nice conversation! You have to be careful when looking up the address. Some sites have the location listed as over by the Chamblee Marta. Luckily, I knew where it was. The food is pretty good and I like the self-serve sauce. You definitely need plenty of napkins/paper towels. When I go, I get the chicken sandwich.

My co-workers and I tried this place last week for lunch, and we definitely weren't disappointed. We arrived right in the middle of a huge wave of people, so there was, of course, a line. This wasn't really a problem, as the walls of the place are covered with awesome southern culture/food memorabilia, so there was plenty to look at. The staff were absolutely slammed, but the woman who took our orders and the servers who brought our food had their game faces on, along with a good sense of humor about the lunch hour in general. That's always nice to see, and it definitely made the crowded experience go smoother. The place is a good size with plenty of room, but again, this was a weekday lunch hour -- so it seemed small-ish for the first 20 minutes we were there. Still, we came for some barbecue, and barbecue we had. I opted for some hush puppies along with a pulled chicken sandwich, which had a surprisingly (awesome) bigger portion of meat than I'd expected. Along with ketchup and BBQ sauce, the restaurant supplies each table with homemade vinaigrette sauces that are absolutely must-tries. Barbecue isn't part of my regular diet at all, but I'd go back to this place for some in a heartbeat. Simple and delicious.

Went for dinner the other night and even though we showed up 15 minutes before closing, we got excellent service and didn't feel rushed. We started with the "redneck nachos", which are french fries smothered in cheese and pulled pork. We both got pulled pork sandwiches with mac & cheese. The pork, even at closing time, was still juicy and tender, and the sauce was very good. Because it's close and because the pork is so tasty, I'll definitely be coming back here.

Pig 'n Chick! I've always wanted to come and visit. Thankfully, I had a take out order with a couple co-workers after working so late one evening. So, I got a pulled pork plate with two sides. Read below for more thoughts on the dishes! Pulled pork plate (small) for $7.71+tax with two sides (included) of my choice: Brunswick stew and crinkled fries. Pulled pork was moist (not dry!). Log pieces of pork that I pulled apart. Brunswick stew had pieces of corn, Lima beans, other beans, pork, tomatoes, and tons of other vegetables I probably missed. It was good, not bad, not bad. Not the best I've ever had in my entire life, but decent. Mustard-based BBQ sauce - hear me out! If you are not a fan of mustard and/or not a fan of vinegar, you probably will not like this sauce! I'm not a fan of both and didn't like it... So many people commented on this sauce, but this is where I must draw the line and say that we are two different people with two different taste buds and you (who love mustard and vinegars tartness) will have to agree to disagree! I can't stand vinegar, sour, tart - not a fan of salt and vinegar chips! I prefer the other regular (sweeter) BBQ sauce. I used my regular (slightly sweet BBQ sauce) for my pulled pork! It was pretty tasty. Slightly sweet not overly saucy or bold with BBQ. The Texas toast that came with the pulled pork plate was soft and delicious. They serve it plain, which is great. It can't be buttery, oily, etc. Just soft as anything and delicious.

Best pulled pork in Atlanta, really! Also 3 sauces to choose from, all good. Simple sides they never mess up. I have eaten at all 3 locations.

Is this great barbeque? I guess it depends on your definition - I usually favor the heavily smoked Q you get at places like JRs - and I wouldn't place Pig-N-Chik in the same category. Pig-N-Chik's Q doesn't have that rich smokey flavor - however the tenderness of the meats, the portion sizes and the sides all make this joint a cut above most. Large pulled pork on a plate with two sides (I usually get the fresh sauted broccoli and Brunswick stew) at a medium or large portion that comes with a thick slice of bread - heavenly. I also especially like their vinegary "hot" sauce - something you don't usually see locally (the sauces at most places around here are thick and sweet). If you're looking for Q that is a bit different from the normal fare, that's tastey, fresh and juicy, this is the place for you. I usually stop by on my way to Lowes or Walmart in Chamblee.

I've tried their pulled pork sandwich with mac n cheese, collard greens, and brunswick stew. They're generally great but on more than one occasion, all their side dishes were way salty. I would like to tell their chef to go easy on the salt on side dishes. Their pork bbq stuff is tender and juicy. Their menu doesn't describe what their "redneck nachos" consist of so i decided to try it out the other night. It's basically a bed of crinkled fries with cheese and pulled pork on top of it. I was disappointed that it did not have any nacho chips or all the toppings that a normal nacho would consist of. Surprisingly though, the combination works and i was able to eat it with a fork so i can't complain. I haven't tried their ribs yet. I haven't yet found another bbq joint with better ribs than Fat Matt's Rib Shack but Pig N Chick's ribs is on my list the next time i eat there again. It's a decent bbq place with reasonable price and quality. And they deliver so that's always a plus. But try to avoid their lunch time. There is usually a long line that generally consist of Chamblee cops, fire fighters, and elders.

My family has enjoyed Pig N Chick for years but recently we ordered delivery and may have gotten food poisoning. I say may have. We are pretty certain that the pulled pork was the culprit. However, when I informed the manager about this he was incredulous and never even apologized nor considered the possibility that his food could have done this. Believe me, we are never going to eat from this place again.

Good pulled pork. The sauces are good as well. It definitely is one of the betters cue places in this area. I am always disappointed in the fries here. They are always soggy and under cooked. Beware that at lunch time the crowd rolls in fast. Seating can be limited.

Got take out from here while at a focus group in Atlanta. We went for barbecue because they knew I"m a BBQ judge and competitor and wanted my take on it. The food was quite good, and probably the average consumer would give it 4 stars. I did find the ribs a little fatty (probably because the membrane on the underside hadn't been taken off) but they were well cooked - not overcooked like many restaurant ribs. The brisket was extremely tender and still moist - might be some of the best I've had from a restaurant. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful. We also got some pulled chicken, and the white meat was still moist, which is quite the feat. Sides were good - hush puppies were really, really great, and the mac & cheese was very cheesy and gooey. Not the best I've had, but good. Their sauces are also interesting - their regular is pretty standard, but tasty. The mustard has more depth of flavor than most mustard based sauces, but my favorite was the Carolina style vinegar sauce. It was very, very spicy, but had more than just heat and vinegar in it, and was good on everything, which is unusual for a vinegar sauce.

I'm a Tennessee girl. When I moved to Georgia, I was perplexed by the absence of hushpuppies and pulled chicken on BBQ menus. Instead, "Brunswick stew" or "corn souffle" took their place and I made do with Georgia BBQ. HUSHPUPPIES. Pig-n-Chik finally has hushpuppies. Really good, garlicky, onion-y perfect sized hushpuppies. I know of no other BBQ joint in the Atlanta vicinity that serves hushpuppies that are worth a darn (ones filled with cream corn are a friggin' joke). For this reason alone, P-n-C wins 4 stars. Pig-n-Chik has recently changed its menu. Prices have gone up, but the menu has expanded. There were lots of things to pick from, but we settled on old faves. Can't wait for them to get collard greens! Tonight we had: -- Pulled chicken sandwich with the hot Carolina sauce -- Fried Okra -- Mac & Cheese -- Pulled Pork -- Brunswick Stew In all honesty, the sides were okay, if not disappointing. I actually like the fried okra at Shane's better than this (it just has more of a spice to the coating). My chicken was tasty and included both white and dark meat. The mac & cheese was bland. I'd go back for a chicken sandwich with hushpuppies and Brunswick stew, no doubt. The crinkle fries also looked promising. By the way, P-n-C offers $1.75 PBR draft beers. nice! This is definitely a great spot for families or groups. There are several TVs showing sports and a little patio outside.

I made my specialty dish today (chitlins) and i realized i needed some good potato salad to go along with with so i went to pig n chik to get some since it is close to the pharmacy i use. I ordered my potato salad but then i knew i needed some french fries and hushpuppies to go with my meal so i ordered them too. Then i realized i needed dinner for tomorrow so i ordered a pound of pulled pork. The potato salad is some of the best i've had in Atlanta and complimented my specialty perfectly. Hushpuppies were good but needed tartar sauce. The fries were good too. I have not eaten any of the pulled pork yet but will update my review when i do. UPDATE: Be very careful of their hot sauce. It is VERY hot...almost to hot so if you are sensitive to hot foods dont go anywhere near the hot sauce. Ask for the mild. And, oh, the employees were really nice as well.

Oh, Pig-N-Chik, I think you were instrumental in changing the face of BBQ in Atlanta when you first opened on Roswell Rd. I read the first review in the AJC, and made it out first thing. Yummy stuff that Jim was cranking out. and when you opened the location on P'tree Ind., I kept coming. Still do. I know there are more heralded places in town now, but I'm loyal, what can I say?

Great food, especially the brisket and potato salad. It's delicious, cheap, local, fast, and they have good beer specials (especially during braves games). Ambience is functional and casual. Go get some.

Pig-N-Chik is my favorite barbeque in town. I love bbq beef, but am often hesitant to order because it is fatty. Well, not at Pig-N-Chik! The beef is lean and has that delicious pink smoke ring...sauces are good, and the fries are awesome. Great sweet tea. The other sides -- not the best-- but that is not what I come here for anyway! Yum....

Delivery? Check! Every kind of chicken (BBQ, pulled meat, all white...), pork, beef, ribs, fingers, even corn dogs for the kiddies (or big kids!)?? Yep! A plethora of side choices, from steamed broccoli to fries to stew? Of course. Half or whole pigs available too, plus catering and large take-out orders?? You bet. I am now an official fan of the locally famous Pig-N-Chik. This is GOOD stuff. Last night's delivery pretty much overwhelmed me, mostly due to the amount of meat I got with the two - yes, TWO - sandwiches I was silly enough to order. I couldn't decide between the all-white pulled chicken on Texas toast and the pulled pork on the same, both with lots of lettuce and tomato, so I ordered both. I was already thinking "what a deal!" at $5.00 alone or $6.10 with one side but when they arrived and there was about a whole chicken and pig per sammy, well, let's just say if I'd ordered more bread I'd be able to have at least two more sandwiches today!! My friend got the medium pulled pork plate, and thought the brunswick stew was good but didn't love the mac and cheese. My steamed broccoli was good but we both agreed that our best pick was the large size order of perfectly cooked crinkle fries we got - somehow they were still totally hot and crispy after delivery! Yum. My only question now is whether to have that pork sandwich I didn't eat yesterday for "brunch" now . . . or to use the rest of my chicken leftover and make a tasty omelette . . . - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A Post-Script: Just had the Pork . . . Soo-Weeee!! I don't know if that's the appropriate "call" here, but what the heck, the meat was THAT good. Seriously, I may never get P-N-C's chicken again!! Moist even the day after, and I loved the BBQ sauce. A must-order, hands-down.

It's a BBQ place so it should be kind of grimy...it is - barely air conditioned (could be the strip center they are in as it is ANCIENT) and there are always flies. The bathrooms are hot and generally dirty - new paper dispenser but then a grease covered trash can that you have to touch to throw away your paper towel..... It would be fair to say the devil is in the details but these DETAILS are SCREAMING SIRENs. Probably the safest place on earth to eat...every time I am there the police are there and they are there for the food, not the jokes. FOOD time: - Good sides - broccoli, corn, cole slaw and collards are good. DO A BETTER job on your french fries and beans.....put some love into them. BBQ - Ribs tender and served dry - fell off the bone....3 ribs, two sides and a piece of fluffy bread will set you back $10. Turn on the AC for that amount. ***There are three sauces - spicy, vinegar based - I like. Sweet and syruppy BBQ - good for dunking in BBQ chicken and the dryer pork, mustard based is not my favorite but has a tangy quality. BBQ chicken - good smoky flavor nice color on the outside Pulled pork - it has varied in quality from passable to good...outstanding is not the word. The surprise: They do a very nice BBQ salmon - I recommend you try it. The kids will eat here and that is good, especially that they have good sides. They serve corn dogs, Moon Pies and Pabst on tap - that should make it 3 stars.....but they got to clean up the amenities. Good deals on ribs, wing and beer when a local sports team is on the television. Mon, Tues and Wednesday there are half price meals for kids...that is a good deal. This place has the potential to up their game. Add a smile to that service team and do more than turn out passable BBQ.....remember eating out is about the whole package. The only way you get to skip on details is if your food is UNRIVALED by others REGIONALLY...... In this town, there are too many options.

This place puts out some really good stuff. I first tried Pig-N-Chik when a friend had some delivered a few weeks ago while we were watching some football. Had some wings and pulled pork; wings were good, but nothing special...but the pulled pork was fantastic. I immediately asked where it was from, as I'm always on the lookout for a good pulled pork spot.. there are just too many places where this delicacy misses the mark. Not here! Tried it again last night, and got a takeout pulled pork plate. Got the 'large' size.. and man, it was truly large; enough for two meals (or two people). But I'm not complaining. Tried the potato salad, mac & cheese, and hushpuppies, after consulting other yelp reviews for advice on which sides to order. Potato salad and hushpuppies were very good; mac & cheese was only decent, so I'll probably try something different in its place next time. Prices are higher than some bbq places, but you pay for what you get. And that's quality. I'll be back.. many, many times.

Growing up in South Carolina, BBQ to me has always meant pull pork. After moving to Atlanta, I found that this meaning, along with the quality, is subject to many variations. My fiancee and I have been on a quest to find BBQ that most closely resembles what we have grown up eating. This would be a plate of pulled pork, Carolina style mustard base sauce, and the standard sides (Mac/cheese, beans, Brunswick stew, etc.), which is served at a reasonable price. Pig-N-Chik definitely delivered on all fronts. While I have been to other places (Fox Bros, Fat Matt's, etc.), this place most closely resembles what I consider an excellent BBQ place. The Food: I ordered the pull pork plate with beans and mac 'n cheese. The pork was moist, the beans were good, however the mac 'n cheese tasted canned. The lady had the Brunswick stew which was also very good. The Carolina mustard base sauce was excellent, probably the best I've had in the ATL. This is always a major selling point because even if the meat is mediocre, a good sauce can make up for it. Needless to say, I'm not a fan of ketchup based sauces, too sweet, although they did have that and a vinegar-spicy base. Everything Else: The restaurant is pay-at-the-counter style. They have tea and lemonade on tap, whereas they have Coke in cans. The overall dining room was clean and quaint. Overall, unless I'm feeling adventurous, this is my go to spot for BBQ.

Ok, being a Memphis native, nothing I have found outside of my home city compares to their BBQ. I met a friend last night and she suggested we go here to eat since it was close to her home and she said the food was good. I'll agree, the food was good, but not what I was expecting. You could tell the meat (pulled pork) was cooked properly, it had the smoky flavor without being drenched in sauce, perfectly seasoned to be enjoyed alone. I wasn't too fond of their vinegar based sauce since it was literally a watery mix of spices, but it gave a bit of extra flavor I was looking for. I could have been a bit happier if the sandwich was on a bun instead of chewy Texas toast-style white bread. $11 for a sandwich and 3 meager sides and a tea was more than I expected to pay for what I got though. The sides are a whole other matter. The potato salad was good, but seemed like it was sopped with way too much mayo, and the potatoes were chunked so huge it wasn't really enjoyable. The beans were good, although you could tell they were just basic beans thrown out of a can into their "bbq mix" to give them their unique flavor, I actually prefer REAL baked beans that cook for hours on end. The fried okra was more like breaded okra pellets, very small and unappetizing. The only option for soft drinks are canned sodas, no fountain drinks, not pleased with that little whimsical restriction (I drink a LOT of soda when I go out to eat, about the only time I can enjoy it). Their tea was just blah. I'll give it 3 stars because of the BBQ alone, maybe next time I'll just order a bulk pack and take it home and enjoy it on a proper toasted bun with slaw and my own homemade sauce, or try some of their other items to give a better judgement...

My fav BBQ spot when in Atlanta. The friendliest staff who go out of their way for you. Great for lunch during the week or take away dinner at the weekend. Go for half pound of turkey cold or try their brisket. The pecan pie is hard to beat.

As I have stated in some of my other reviews of BBQ joints (see my review for Maddies) Barbeque has always been a favorite of mine. And my ex is a Yankee from New York who hates BBQ. Now that we are divorced, I no longer have to be deprived of having it as often as I'd like. Ever since Benny's BBQ on Ashford - Dunwoody Rd closed up shop, I have been searching far and wide for something as good. I want to love P n C because I met the owner one night when I was out drinking and he seemed to be a genuinely nice, cool dude. He even gave me his card with a voucher for two free combo plates, hand-written and signed, on the back of the card (How cool is that?!) I ended up giving the card / free food voucher to my parents. I think they lost it and never used it. P n C does a good job, although I found some room for improvement. I had heard good reviews from credible sources. Like most independent BBQ joints, you order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. Napkins, cups, plastic wear and drinks are for you to fetch yourself - which may not be good if you go with small kids or elderly parents / grandparents. I ordered the pulled pork plate with two sides and it was more than enough to feed a big lummox like me. The meat was tasty and the sauce was very good. I ended up getting a to-go box for what made for a nice snack at work the next day. The sauce comes in ketchup / squeeze containers situated on all the tables, like Sonny's, which I find convenient since you don't worry about running out of sauce. I think there were two or three different kinds of sauces to choose from in varying levels of spiciness. As far as the ambience goes, the decor is similar to that of Po Folks or Sonny's and is sort of Southern kitschy / redneck / countrified, which is usual, average, and altogether appropriate for a BBQ restaurant anywhere in the South. I liked the Brunswick stew; however, I have yet to find B-Stew as good as the stew at Benny's. The mac and cheese looked like it came from a box; however, my kids gobbled it up like candy and I kept ordering more of it for them. My mom ordered the chicken and raved about it although it did not appear to be as plentiful a portion as the pork combo plate. The bread was the ubiquitous plain BBQ bread and my mom and grandmother complained since they prefer the toasted garlic bread or Texas toast like you get at some other BBQ joints / chains around town. My grandmother seemed to enjoy the food; however, she said she would probably not return. But hey, she is a Yankee and an old lady, so you should regard her opinion rather lightly (Sorry Gram). Bottom line: Good; perhaps even very good.

Pretty good, although, the brisket seems to be hit or miss. The first time I had it, it was a delicious, juicy feast, while the second time it was just ok, leaning a little towards the dry side. Speaking of sides, I love the potato salad here! Pig-N-Chik isn't the cheapest BBQ joint out there, but it's a fair price for the amount of food. I'm always stuffed from a small order, especially a small order of the brisket.

I go here once or twice a week. This place has the best BBQ I have ever had and their chicken is even amazing! This is my favorite place to go to for lunch! The sweet tea is addictive, the pork sandwiches are fantastic, their Mac n cheese and Brunswick stew are to die for, the 3 different sauces are all delicious and unique in their own way, the environment is great, and the staff is very friendly! Best place nearby in my opinion for lunch and dinner! Thank you so much for the great food guys!

I assure you, I've eaten BBQ at pretty much every BBQ restaurant in the greater Atlanta area and most in Georgia. This is my second favorite - which is saying a lot (nobody can beat Harold's). The Pulled pork is really pulled (not chopped) and is so tender all they have to do is look at it to get it to fall apart. It has a mild smokey flavor from the wood not seasoning. It's incredibly Juicy. I also love their slaw and french fries (the crinkly kind). The only reason they don't get 5 stars is that the Brunswick stew is just OK and a few times I've eaten there the BBQ was almost cold - I had to send it back to be microwaved. Other than that it's incredible.

Meltingly, tender beef brisket and pulled pork. Homemade sauces are excellent, especially the NC vinegar. Collards were tender with chunks of pork and just the right amount of spice. Brunswick stew and cole slaw were examples of good ingredients simply combined. The result is fresh and delicious, but nothing innovative - just fine for Saturday evening BBQ on Peachtree Industrial. Niether the Mac 'n cheese nor the banana pudding were memorable versions, but they satisfied the need. Atmosphere was typical counter order family BBQ joint with sports on tv, but we were spared the typical dark rustic wood. Service was quick and friendly. We will definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu.

No frills, good smoked BBQ. Pulled pork is my favorite. All 3 sauces are good, but the mustard-based sauce is really special. We always have some at home. Order at the counter, grab some plastic utensils, and the have a seat. They bring the food to you. Plastic plates and table cloths, with paper towels on the roll. Food is pricey, but we keep going back. Very laid back spot. Eaten here dozens of times and never experienced the negative environmental comments left by some. Stew and broccoli are good sides. Fries are good but they are fries. Much better than average BBQ.

This is my all time favorite place for BBQ. We order large amounts of pulled pork to take to the beach for an easy vacation dinner. We have even had pulled pork for Thanksgiving dinner. Make sure you don't miss out on the BBQ salmon salad with the vinegar based sauce...yummy!

A BBQ "joint" most definitely. Tube tvs with bad reception, $1.75 PBR drafts, three sauces (the spicy red with vinegar is my favorite)....and flat-out the best pulled pork in the area. Friendly service, and great REAL BBQ. Go.

Over-rated and Unimpressive My friend wanted to hit our usual barbecue joint in Buckhead but I wanted to try something different. I have read several reviews of Pig-N-Chik on Yelp and many gave it high or favorable marks; so thinking it a safe bet, we checked it out. Unfortunately, the reviews I read didn't even come close to the expectations I had for this restaurant. The review I am posting is for the Peachtree Industrial location. Maybe the Roswell location might be better, who knows. Inside the restaurant, it pretty much looks like your standard variety picnic table setup with sports memorabilia and pennants. They do have a couple of TV's which were on sports channels. There didn't seem to be an issue with cleanliness as it was pretty much what you expect at a joint like this. It does seem to attract locals in the neighborhood which is probably what keeps them in business. You walk up to the counter, place your order, pay your tab, grab your drink and take a seat. They do deliver the food to your table on a plastic plate but that is about all the service you get. You have to go grab your plastic utensils and your own refills in your paper cup at the tea station. Ok, perhaps I am being a bit harsh on the plastic flatware and dishes, but if I am spending over 10 bucks for a dinner, I would like some real plates and utensils. Also, it would be nice to have a server or employee check on us at least once, but that never happened. I ordered the medium sized chicken with sides including fries and baked beans. The chicken seemed to have been sitting out for a while and arrived to our table at room temperature. It seemed edible eating off the drumstick and thigh, but when it came to the white meat, it was excruciatingly dry. I had to use excessive amounts of barbecue sauce to at least swallow without chocking at my throat. I practically gave up after a while as it was some of the driest chicken I have ever eaten. The french fries were your standard variety Orieda style frozen which was = FAIL. The only halfway decent thing I had was the baked beans. It did not knock my socks however. Again, I am still a bit baffled by the reviews I have read. I would not personally recommend this place based on my own experience and if you do, enter at your own risk.

Order at the counter and food brought to the table. Server explained the various sauces. Nice mix of sauces - traditional sweet, a housemade vinegar based sauce (spicy and good), a Carolina vinegar-mustard (had heard of but never tried before). Ordered the Pulled pork plate (med), came with two sides. I had the fries and the bbq beans. They have bbq down. Good smokey flavor with the option to add your own sauce(s). Sides claimed to be housemade, but I think the crinkle-cut fries were out of a bag. The beans were fine. Was there for lunch with a group from work. You could tell there were a lot of regulars. They take the name of first person of your group and call out to find where to bring the food, so over time they know all the regulars on a first name basis - a nice touch.

I'll be honest. The name scares me. I don't know why, I guess because it's pretty damn literal. "Pig-n-Chik". Oink-n-Cluck. Wallow-n-Peck. Anyway, enough of that. The food is damn good. I had pig...a pulled pork plate with slaw and Brunswick stew. A tad on the pricey side for lunch at just under $10, but the meat was tender, great flavors, and the sauces are good. I mixed the sweet with the spicy and it had me sweatin'. The small plate was plenty to fill me up. I'd oink at this place again.

I thought that this barbecue joint was great! The staff was friendly and the food comes out really fast. I went for Team Trivia last Monday night and I will definitely frequent this place! The food was really good and they didn't hide their meat in a pool of sauce. All the sauces are on the table and you pick the one(s) you like. Their drink specials are a good find too. Whenever an Atlanta sports team is playing, they have $1.50 drafts or $6 pitchers. So, you can go in, have some drinks and cheer on the home team!

Pig n' Chik is a barbecue disguised as a sports bar. Service is order at the counter, and waitress drops off your plate at your table when made. Drink refills, etc., are up to you. Pulled pork is good, and rather typical. Beans were great. Brunswick stew was the best I've had in the area. Parking is ample, on a strip mall lot, and location is convenient. Barbecues can be grubby and you feel as if you stick to everything you touch (cf. Harolds), and want a shower when you return home. I give Pig n' Chik an extra star for cleanliness and lack of stickiness.

I am pretty shocked that I am the only person to review the redneck nachos. How have you people not had the redneck nachos? It is pretty much the only thing I eat there, because I don't really like their sides and just a sandwich doesn't feel like a meal. There is a real art form to the redneck nachos, which consist of (for those of you who don't know) fries (of the generic frozen, but freshly fried variety), topped with great big hunks of smoked pulled pork, topped with shredded cheddar cheese (the kind that comes pre-shredded in a bag, not a lot of flavor, but good for melting). When this comes out to me (ONLY EAT IT THERE!!!!!) I first sprinkle it with the vinegar hot sauce so that it drips down and soaks into the hot fries, much like chips and vinegar, you lose some crispiness, but it's worth it for the flavor enhancement. Next comes the Carolina mustard sauce, again sprinkle liberally. I then like to write a message to myself across the top using the thick sticky sweet red sauce, like eat me, and finally if I feel like being a pig myself, which is most of the time, I will get a mayo packet from the condiment stand and squeeze that over the whole mess. Don't expect that you can eat this with your fingers.

All I've ever had at Pig-N-Chik is the pulled pork plate. It was so good that I haven't gotten around to trying anything else yet. Well, I did get the Brunswick stew as a side, and it was also pretty darn good. I also love the flavor of their barbecue sauce, coupled with the fact that they neither feel the need to drown the meat in it nor cheap out by only giving you a tiny ramekin of it. The sauce is available for the taking in copious quantities if you should want it. Next time, I'm going to try the Redneck Nachos, now that I've seen Emily R's review of them. :D

First off I'll start by saying that we've had Pig-n-chik numerous times over the past 6 years or so. It is usually slightly better than ok and while it's not my first choice for bbque, does the trick on a busy weeknight. We usually order and take out but tried delivery this time around, noting the $15 min...I ordered two plates knowing we'd cleared the $15 min. Paid with my Am Ex (they asked for the security code which I thought was strange but ok). The delivery guy showed up, dog went crazy but I managed to get outside, sign the credit card slip & leave a nice tip. After dinner, I was cleaning up and looked at the credit card statement...which I should have done as I was signing the slip but it didn't register. Our 2 mediocre pulled pork plates cost a whopping $28.56!!! I checked the menu again and thought there was an error so I called to get it correct. So, here is the deal, the shady deal. The food was $18.36 plus tax = $19.65, although they don't mention this they charge $3 to deliver so that brings the total to = $22.65. They also charge an additional 4% if you pay with a credit card....WHAT THE???, = $23.56 and I left the guy a $5 tip. so our mediocre meal cost $28.56... What bothers me is not the price of the food (which I think is fair), it's that they do not tell you about the up-charges, the $3 delivery fee and the additional charge of 4% on top of the total amount (even tax!) for paying with a credit card. Rediculous! When I expressed this concern to the guy on the phone, he offered me a free sandwhichbut said there was nothing else he could do. No thanks. To me this is a shady practice and I will never eat from Pig n Chik again, take out, delivery or otherwise. Still deciding if I should call American Express and dispute the charge, at least the delivery fee and up charges....

I had this place for the first time last night. The bbq was quite good actually. I am biased since I was raised in north Georgia. I liked having the sauce on the side, I usually get it this way everywhere and I was kind of upset that I forgot to ask for it this way and low and behold, it came out with no sauce smothered all over it. The Brunswick strew was very flavorsome, the sauces they had on the table were tasty as well. The only negative was the fries; they weren't terrible, just not near as good as everything else. Also they have team trivia on Mondays. Another also, PBR $1.50, Bud products $1.50 during local team sports games.

Meh. Not really a great place to take Northern relatives looking for good, Southern authentic BBQ. However, the smokey flavor, and sweet sauce temporarily hit the spot. We picked up a full slab of pork ribs, and a pint of Mac and Cheese, and was very dispointed- the Mac was over cooked, and the cheese waaaaay too processed. The pork ribs, are reminiscent to smoked pork hamhocks used to season collard greens. The bones were meaty, but some what dried out, and tough. The guy who took our order was really nice and patient as it took my mom awhile to decide what she wanted, and our order was up in a matter of minutes. I'm not sure if its good enough for me to go back though.

First of all there aren't many places outside of NC and Memphis that make decent barbecue anyway. That being said, Pig n Chick is one of the better places to go where they actually come close to perfection. I like the fact that you can get chopped chicken as well as pork and they are both equally as tasty. I still prefer to wait until going back home to NC for delicious barbecue.

WOW! I LIKE this place! I got the Redneck Nachos and they were scrumptious! I'm so happy to have found this place thanks to Yelp and will go back!!

I prefer the Roswell Rd location, but the food is as good here as there. I like the ambiance better on Roswell Rd. BUT, nobody eats at a BBQ place for the ambiance!!! I've not tried the ribs, but the pulled pork, baked beans, broccoli and brunswick stew are excellent. Yes, I eat broccoli sometimes with my BBQ. But, it's tasty, unlike the broccoli I knew and loathed as a child....!! The stew is a bit spicy, but that's good for your sinuses....!

Was working across the street from this place last year and at here almost every day of the project and sometimes for lunch and dinner. Now, granted it is not surrounded by a huge variety of options, but I kept going back to try different things on the menu and to get more fo their awesome mustard bbq sauce! I think my favorite is their smoked turkey sandwich. Most people are like "turkey?", yep, smoked turkey. Like someone did a Thanksgiving turkey, smoked it, and cut slices for sandwiches nice and thick. With the mustard bbq sauce on bread with pickles - oh yeah! Anyhow, I brought home some of the mustard bbq sauce and am about to order more online - it is great with lots of things. When I'm back in the area for the next part of the project, I will be eating here again and buying more mustard bbq sauce.

For fast and tasty food, this is barbeque bliss. (I'm not kidding. I normally don't even like barbeque!)

"I would like a 1/4 slab of ribs with Brunswick stew and baked beans." When my food was being served, the guy behind the counter took the time to explain what each of the sauce of the table was. There was a regular BBQ sauce, mustard sauce, and a spicy vinegar based North Carolina sauce. The ribs were OK. Nothing to clap your hands about. The Brunswick stew and the baked beans was pretty good. They both had a nice kick to it, but that might be because I was using some North Carolina sauce on the ribs. The price was good too. You can keep it under $10 unless you wanted more meat.

Based on the great reviews for the other location, I decided to try the place out last night. But I got lazy on my way home from work and the Peachtree location was closer to me. It's a cozy spot with a home-y feel. I had the famous pulled pork sandwich with beans and Brunswick stew. Came out to about $8.50 iirc. Overall, the sandwich was decent except for a piece of hard to chew (it was really tough and inedible) skin. It was definitely not as moist or tender as the other people say. I took about 2 bites au natural but I couldn't stand it and had to use the bbq sauce. As for the sides, the beans were solid and the Brunswick stew was pretty tasty. It was my first time having Brunswick stew so I have no baseline to judge it by....but it was definitely tasty and that's why I boosted the rating up to 4 stars. I didn't have the best sandwich and due to the number of people giving this place 5 stars, I will consider the experience as the exception and not the norm. At the very least, I can have the stew......but redneck nachos looked interesting too. I'll try it again maybe next week.

Took the family here on the recommendation of a friend, and we will definitely be coming back. Ribs were meaty, pulled pork was delicious, brunswick stew was to die for, baked beans excellent, potato salad nice and creamy. The portions were so large we ended up taking a full rib + one meat plate home (and we have big appetites). This place will go into my regular 'Q rotation.

Good BBQ for the price. Even the chicken wings are good. I also like their version of Brunswick stew. It may be better to get the BBQ and go because seating is not great. The food however is worth the wait to order and take it home. They have multiple BBQ sauces for your taste. My favorite is the mustard based sauce. I get a little more of a Carolina style BBQ feel here. This is a place I recommend on my Atlanta BBQ crawl.

I've read the reviews of this Pig N Chick and have wanted to try for some time. After a recent visit to PDK, I thought I would swing by this location and give it a chance. Ordered a pulled pork plate with stew. The meat comes in large pieces, showing a decent smoke ring and a good amount of outside brown meat. I'll agree with Brad K's review, it is similar to what you might find in Memphis. The meat was very tender, almost too tender. It had a pretty heavy hickory smoke flavor to it. Some may not like this much smoke in the meat, but I loved it. I didn't touch a single drop of the sauce, it doesn't need it. The stew was pretty good as well. I've had competition barbecue before, so it is hard for restaurants to stand up to my expectations of Q. But the Pig-N-Chik could probably hang with some of the competition Q I've had over the years. Out where I live (Alpharetta), we're cursed with disgusting franchise strip-mall barbecue. Thankfully, Pig-N-Chik is opening a Windward location soon! Can't wait.

My friend and I were the hottest girls in the restaurant during lunch. Ok, ok. Fine. We were the only girls in the restaurant. This Pig N Chik is on Peachtree Industrial, near all the car dealerships. This is my only guess as to what skews the male to female ratio here, unless the real reason is that it's something much sexier . . . like that the Pig N Chik is really a gambling front or for undercover police surveillance. Regardless, the barbeque here is worth driving to the nearly OTP location - especially if you multitask and also get an oil change or your brakes fixed at one of the zillion dealerships. I've been to both Chik locations and had the best experience here . . . BBQ is best served in a relaxed atmosphere like this, filled with customers high on barbeque sauce and the amazing coleslaw.

I stopped in here again looking for that good pulled pork I had tried after a previous disappointing experience with slightly overcooked ribs, heavily peppered corn, and inedible mac & cheese. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a side of Brunswick stew. The pulled pork sandwich is definitely on point here. It's a lot of very tender, smoky, coarsely pulled pork on Texas toast. Very tasty. It's right up there with Fox Brothers' pulled pork sandwich (which is my favorite). I think it's actually better than FB's in a couple regards: texture and cost. The meat is really tender and definitely more so than FB's (which can be slightly dry occasionally). And P-N-C seems to be a lot cheaper: a sandwich and a side at P-N-C is almost $7 while the same thing at Fox Brothers is almost $10! Yeah, that's a pretty big price difference. However, I think FB's pulled pork sandwich is better in terms of flavor of the meat, sauce and bread. I think the pork at FB's is a little more seasoned and has a smokier taste. I liked P-N-C's sweet sauce the best (they have 3), but I prefer FB's sauce. I think the Texas toast is interesting at P-N-C, but it isn't as good as the bun at FB's - I think it would be better if they toasted the bread slightly before serving it as well. Anyway, the point is that this is a damn good sandwich and one of my favorites. The Brunswick stew is definitely of the chunky (vs. smooth) variety. In fact, one of my problems with it was that it was just too chunky - like one chunk is almost an entire tomato type chunky. It does have more going on in it like lima beans. However, the main problem I had with it is the black pepper. I'm not sure why this place is so heavy handed with the black pepper - the entire dish just tastes way too strongly of pepper just like the corn did when I had it before. Eh, it's a little frustrating because those two dishes would be much better without it. Anyway, I really appreciate the cheap, delicious pulled pork sandwich here, but the verdict is still out on the sides and the ribs. I'd probably go here more often if I lived closer... 3.5

Pig-N-Chick is an ok BBQ fast food joint. Nothing fancy about it, no wood fired bbq pit, or anything like that. You kind of think your in a country general store dining area when you walk in. The food is reasonably priced. One attraction is they sell ribs by the 1/4 rack if you're not that hungry. The ribs were simply ok, possibly an artifact of cooking them over gas instead of wood. The BBQ sauces were nice and there was at least one spicy selection. The veggies on the side is where you get your money's worth. The fried okra and corn portions I was given were absolutely huge. That's the way southern veggies should be. I can't say I'm a fan of how they cook the ribs since Dreamland on Alpharetta Hwy is the best. One nice detail is they sell Moon Pies and RC Cola at Pig-N-Chick. That's a great touch that I wish some other places would think of.

I don't frequent bbq joints often, but I lived near this location and they catered an event I attended. I was pleased with pulled chicken and pork flavors...I like mine with no sauce, so I can't comment on that aspect. However, the biggest hit for me was their potato salad. FINALLY, a place that doesn't serve that sweet, relish filled stuff. They use red potatoes and regular mayo, not Miracle Whip. No sugar added that I could detect. I'll pick up a chicken sandwich and some 'tater salad now and then and have no complaints. They are, if nothing else, consistent.

So disappointing. I've lived in Dunwoody for over 10 years and frequented Pig-N-Chick the entire time. I've even introduced friends because I loved it so much. Lately, though, I've been disappointed with their food and service. I stopped in tonight for my usual take out order: pulled pork, brunswick stew, coleslaw and a chocolate cream pie. First, I had to remind them to put the pie in the bag. Secondly, when I got home, I found that they hadn't included any BBQ or utensils. Easy enough, I grabbed a fork and spoon from the kitchen, ready to dig in. The stew and slaw were alright, but unfortunately, the pulled pork was dry. I dug through the hunk of pork to find what I could that had any semblance of juiciness, but it was a lost cause. I ended up throwing out about half of it. I then moved onto dessert with the hope of redemption for this take-out meal. Unfortunately, I quickly discovered that the pie had separated, and a layer of liquid at the bottom of the container had soaked into the dough and made it soggy. All in all, this meal was a real disappointment, and I've lost all confidence in this Pig-N-Chik. There are too many great BBQ restaurants in town to keep returning in the hope they'll regain their quality food and service. Disappointing indeed.

My first experience with Pig N Chik was really good. I went for lunch and even thought the parking lot was packed, the line moved pretty quickly and we didn't wait more than 5-8 minutes for our food. The pulled pork was really good and for those who like a particular type of sauce, they offer traditional southern sweet, super hot and Carolina mustard. The mac & cheese, was not good. I wouldn't get it again--just had a really funky twang to it. Typical crinkle fries, but my sis LOVED the baked beans. The sweet tea was really good too--not too sweet. I would definitely try this place again--I hear the ribs are pretty good too.

Good BBQ is hard to find. I believe Pig-N-Chick's pulled pork might be the best pork BBQ in North Georgia. The meat is tender, nicely smoked, and, most importantly, perfectly moist. I don't know what kind of smoker they use, but I WANT ONE. The meat stands perfectly on its own without a drop of sauce. That's another beautiful thing: They don't smother the Q in some kind of sauce to hide the off flavor or dryness of the meat. The french fries are just the way I like them: thick, and not overcooked. I'm not a big fan of cole slaw, but theirs is actually quite good. It has a hint of pickle to it. The only quibbles I have about their food is the beans were nothing to write home about, and I wish they would toast their Texas toast type bread. They have really good sweet tea, and you can finish your meal with that old Southern favorite - a Moon Pie. If you get a chance to eat here, do not pass it up.

Pig N Chik is a good barbecue. The pulled pork has been moist and has the right amount of smoke every time I have been. The sauces are great and change from time to time. My favorite is the mustard based sauce. The meat and sauce rate the stars! The brunswick stew and baked beans are great sides. The corn dodgers aren't bad either. The food comes in several sizes, I would recommend asking how large the large is, as the medium is hard to eat the entire portion. They also have PBR on draft, which is kind of cool. Service is ok, they bring the food to you, but that's it.

This place was awesome. I had the ribs and the chicken, with some fries and baked beans on the side. It was all delicious. Some of the better ribs I've had in recent memory. It will take all the will power I have not to stop by here every other day for a fix.

Had Pig N Chick BBQ delivered based off of reviews here on Yelp, a craving for BBQ and a general lack of desire to go out anywhere. Yum! 1 lb of pulled pork, 1/2 lb of beef brisket, smoked salmon, brunswick stew, slaw and bread. I was not expecting much, given the cost is so reasonable. A very nice young man delivered the food very quickly! What arrived was a BBQ lover's dream! Tender, juicy, flavorful bits of beef brisket, savory and very moist salmon, and the BEST, most tender, melt-in-your-mouth pulled pork I have ever eaten! What was a little disappointing, was that only 1 small 1/2-cup sized container of BBQ sauce was included for the entire feast, although it was smokey and delicious. The slaw was fresh, sweet and not too creamy, the brunswick stew was very good. The bread was $ .30 a slice. The amount of meat was SO generous we ate until we couldn't anymore and we still have enough left for sandwiches. Excellent! Definitely recommended! 5 stars!

I try and go maybe once every two weeks when I'm craving some BBQ. Small with a mostly decent staff and tucked away in Chamblee. Food has always been good and prices are reasonable. My fav is the pulled beef usually with a side of corn and french fries. Always cooked fresh of course.

the service at this location is great. the main guy in charge the 1st night i went here was very helpful and explained the sauces and other things we should try here. i like the regular bbq sauce they have but also the mustard so i use both. my husband and his friends love the redneck nachos (fries with pulled pork, bbq sauce, cheese, etc.). i like the pulled chicken plate. the fries are a great choice for a side. i sometimes get double fries b/c i like them so much. my husband eats the fried okra. they have RC Cola in cans! NO A/C IN HERE! be warned

Love it. I'm here now enjoying the pulled pork sammich. Excellent, straightforward barbecue. Both the hot and mild sauces are good, but I prefer the former. Recommended.

I love a good BBQ place. I've eaten at Pig and Chick for years as it is next to my place of employment. In past years I have to say the BBQ was very good. Smoky and tender pork, great roasted turkey and healthy sides if you wanted a lighter lunch. Lately though the staff has turned over and so has the food. My job ordered us a couple of pounds of pork for a luncheon and some employees didn't even finish their sandwiches. Dry, tasteless, no smoke flavor. Tasted like it was left in the smoker way too long and they used the old construction materials from the restaurant next door that closed to stoke the fire! I gave them the benefit of my doubts and went again a week later. I ordered a redneck nacho which I love. It's crispy french fries smothered in cheddar and smoked pork. You add the sauces you like. The portion was way more pork than normal. I think that this was to compensate for the dry and tasteless sawdust that I received. Thumbs down. I wish they would turn this place back around.

Our IT department gets catered lunches from there, saw the van out front and decided to make the drive. I was not disappointed. Pulled pork with no sauce, the way it should be. Add your own, pepper vinegar, mustard or classic. I had the slaw that I thought was dry, but it turned out just right - Slaw is my preferred Q condiment. Pork was flavorful and had just the right amount of bark. Service is pleasant and hard working. Place was packed. I got there around 11:40, I'm glad I did. I got a medium, I'm a big boy. It was plenty for lunch - next time I'll go small. Next time sliced brisket! This is on my weekly rotation.
