I have been eating at this restaurant for three years now and have honestly never had a bad meal. They have a wide variety of dishes to choose from, which makes it so easy to eat here multiple times in a short period of time. One of my absolute favorites to choose from is their homemade soups, one of which is a chicken rice lemon soup made from scratch. It's one of the best I've ever had. Their homemade lentil soup is also very delicious. Some other favorites of mine include their philly gyro, lamb pops, and rosemary chicken. All of the meats are so tender and flavorful. Also their eggplant is out of this world with flavor. And of course they have great wine specials. I love to have a glass of their red sangria or one of their red blends with my meal. Although the flavorful and delicious food gets me in the door, the staff and owners keep me coming back for more. They all truly cater to the customers. I always feel so welcomed and appreciated. So if you want to have a great meal and glass of wine definitely try this restaurant! Great location too in a growing and fun part of town (Brookhaven). There are boutiques and a movie theatre within walking distance.

Cheap and delicious. I recommend the trio sampler, Greek salad, gyro and lamb pita. They have half priced bottles of wine twice a week too. Patio is nice.

Quick Service. Decent Patio. Food was mostly a hit. We stopped by before a move and only had about a half hour. I couldn't tell you what it looks like inside as we met a server on the patio and stayed out there. The patios is small but a nice place to have a glass of wine in this mixed-use development. We had several small plates.. The "pita and friends" plate was quite good. The falafel was probably the best I've ever had. It was crispy and golden brown on the outside with a moist inside and very flavorful. The hummus and cucumbers were fresh. The tuscan bean plate was tasty. The stuffed grape leaves were made with some floral spice that was too heavey. I LOVE grape leaves and really didn't like these. Their service was mostly good but let my water go dry without even offering to refill it when she brought the check. It was $37 before tip for 4 small plates and a glass of wine on a basic patio. It is about the same pricing as Mykonos but I'd get twice as much food at Med Grill or Athens.

The gyro is not good, especially if you've had authentic mediterranean food. The strips of meat are pre-cut, look uncooked and is paper thin (I had to pan fry when I got home it was thinner than cheap bacon... boooo on this meat). The pita shell they use for the wrap is way too bulky (thick)and it's not pan toasted or anything so it is pretty doughy. Since they give you these thin sheets of meat with this big bread it's ridiculously proportioned. It's like a bread gyro. The salad is good, but they didn't add onions, what mediterranean place leaves out onions??!! Tabbouleh is good. I had the rice and lentils when olive bistro first opened, it was flavorful but had no salt so it was not good. I don't know if this was due to them just opening. Ive had the gyro twice and it was not good in anyway. My advice, save your money and go to Cafe Agora for some darn TASTY AUTHENTIC FOOD! I don't work for or own stake in Agora I just know good food when I taste it and Olive Bistro needs major improvement before I go there again.

I've been to Olive Bistro for lunch many times. We always have the same server wait on us. There's never more than 2-3 tables/patrons and service tends to be extremely slow. The food: I've tried multiple dishes including the lamb skewers which have great flavor. My "go to" dish is the Business Lunch for less than $10 you get your choice of lamb or chicken, a Mediterranean salad, and rice and iced tea. Served with and olive oil dressing and plain Greek yogurt, the flavors combined are phenomenal. I've had hummus as an appetizer and it's the most fresh and light hummus I've ever had served with soft warm pita bread. The atmosphere: Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, the decor indoors doesn't hint to a Mediterranean restaurant Cons: some of the pita and gyro wrap dishes are served with Sun Chips, extremely off putting. I'd prefer an authentic side dish. The prices can be quite steep for basic dishes and somewhat small portions.

I'll give the positives first. Normally the food and service are great. Wait staff joked and conversed with us while at the bar, they were friendly and definitely did their jobs exceptionally better than most. The food was great and my friend really enjoyed her food, as well as I did. My most recent attempt to visit is why I felt inclined to write this review. We pulled up at around 9:10pm, when closing time was 9:30pm. I know it was a tad bit late, but seriously, 20 minutes is a nice bit of time left I would think. Walking up to the door which was already locked, the man working in there barely acknowledged us. He pointed to the clock, looked away and carried on his conversation with another person at the bar. I felt like that was extremely rude, considering the sign on the door clearly states the closing time. Not sure if I will be patronizing this place any more. It would have to be last resort.

First, a huge thank you to Zac, our waiter, who helped us through the menu and wine/ beer lists! Olive Bistro is a place you can miss if you aren't looking for it in the mix of everything at Town Brookhaven. It has a decent size patio though and a better than decent wine and beer list with selections from Italy, Greece and other countries from that region. The Mixed Kabobs were delicious as were the baba ghanoush apps. The trio is the best way to go if you want an app with a taste of everything-- Hummus, olive spread, and seasoned feta. This is my new favorite spot at Town Brookhaven!

Oh, Al, you've had my Grecian heart for quite awhile now. Five years counts as a long-term relationship, right? Now you have some competition. Forget flowers, this girl can be wooed by a great gyro. And so far . . . it's Al v Olive. I went with the classic gyro (lamb, beef, toms, lettuce, sauce) because a first date should set a baseline. There will definitely be a second. Simple and delicious (we're talking food now) - with exactly the right form of warm pita and tons - really, tons- of meat. Everything was filled throughout the sandwich, not one of those where there's a lot at the beginning and you eat only to find that their well-seasoned and well sliced meat, plus the other ingredients don't fill the whole pita. I'm in serious like. There are lots of other things on the menu, from apps to what I'd consider shareable entrees, from lamb to chicken to (my meat-eating eye) a lot of vegetarian choices, even salmon. The salad section is large and looks very tasty. A bonus is that you can customize most items by adding a different meat or building your own with the gyros. Plus, the hummus and tzatki apps looked really tasty, and I noticed a lot of tables ordering those. Which means about half of the tables since this is a cozy little place. Good stuff all around. And with the reasonable prices, I didn't have to pay much for the date.

The only reason I'm giving this a two star is because the flavor of the falafel was good (not great). The portion was skimpy; there were six teeny tiny falafel. Ridiculous for the price. The tzatziki sauce was very bland as well. It didn't seem to have much cucumber, dill or garlic. There is a reason there aren't many customers in this place. It's a shame, but I won't be back.

Best gyro and tabouleh I've had in a long while. It was quiet, friendly, and had a nice vibe. Good place for a quick, quiet, and reasonably priced lunch. Pretty good wine selection as well.

My bread basket just caught on fire!!! I laughed after trying to blow it out. Ambers kept relighting. It was a great start to a perfect Friday night sitting at a high top with a window view of TOWN. The owner jumped to her feet and said some nice things apologizing, but it's not the bread basket that catches you on fire, it's the ambiance, the music and the best fresh hummus in Atlanta. The prices are amazing and the staff is down to earth friendly. Check this one out. No wait time expected for a table yet! But this will be a full patio by spring.

Gyros are incredible and they have the greatest falafel I've ever eaten! Great service, great food, great prices.

  • Alan S.

Meh.....that about sums it up. I think the best thing I had was the Greek salad. The falafel was dry, heavy and flavorless. The hummus tasteless as well. The tahini sauce was on the verge of turning sour. The pita was inconsistent with some pieces warm and soft others partially crunchy and stale.

  • Annie L.

Noms. Falafel sandwich was pretty delicious and at a fair price. The filling was fresh, the sauce was great (on the side), and the falafel was plentiful. I think it was $7? $8? Glass of wine ranges from $6-$9. This place is absolutely affordable especially for this type of area.

While I'm a big fan of CInebistro in Town Center Brookhaven, I haven't been to many of the eateries there, including Olive Bistro, until this weekend. On Sunday, the age old question of what should we have for lunch came up, and I wasn't in the mood for brunch, so I wracked my brain until Olive popped up - somewhere new to try, a friend said he liked it, I could go for some pita and hummus, etc. So my boyfriend and I drove up and got there at about 1. Olive Bistro occupies a smaller storefront in the middle of Town Center Brookhaven. Inside there's a bar on one half of the restaurant and small tables with chairs fill out the rest of the space. The colors are on the darker side with lots of bottles of wine and other Mediterranean touches throughout - it's cute and tasteful and not over the top. Although the restaurant was neither crowded nor deserted, it took a while for a waitress to take care of us, but once she did come over we were ready to order our whole meal. We decided to split an appetizer of babaganoush with pita bread, and I had a tabouli salad with grilled chicken and my boyfriend got the gyro wrap. A pretty standard order for a Mediterranean restaurant, I think. The babaganoush that came out was good: creamy, olive oil, very generous portion and the accompanying pita bread was also pretty good: it was warm, brushed with a little olive oil and even sprinkled with parmesan (I've never encountered that before). Our entrees were just so-so. The tabouli salad was heavy on the greens, while I was expecting more cracked bulgur wheat to supplement it, but there was a decent amount of chicken and I was definitely full by the end. My boyfriend said his wrap was also ok - the meat wasn't the most flavorful he'd ever had and it was very saucy. We both left full and satisfied but not particularly blown away by Olive Bistro - especially when you think about all the other dining options available around Brookhaven.

I've been to the establishment about 3-4 times. It isn't impressive nor unique. When you order a gyro, they give you a pack of sunchips as the side item...which isn't Mediterranean (at all). I asked for a mineral water and the waitress said they do not serve it...yet there is San Pellegrino in a refrigerator nearby. Later, I asked for it by name, and she served it alongside the tap water. The waitstaff isn't enthusiastic or engaging. I've had to cut my pita bread because it was so tough/overcooked. They didn't notice that the knife was slicing through the foil onto the plate (perhaps because they didn't check-up after the food came). I gave an obligatory 15% tip. There are definitely better places in Town Brookhaven to patronize.

Service is good. The hummus was excellent. The grape leaves were so so. My friend the lamb kebob and I tried a piece and it was on the tough side. Food comes out quickly and they do have wifi.

I had the masaka, it wasn't enjoyable. It was uncomfortable with the staff hanging around asking what we needed every few minutes. I wouldn't come back.

    (2)
  • Sam B.

Yes, the food was good, but too expensive for the amount of food you get, IMO. The service was great until I needed more pita and didn't even get a glance from my server until I gave up and ate my hummus w/o it. I won't be going back.

I was hungry as hell today around 1:30, hell, I was HANGRY! Anyways, I needed a good, filling lunch before my Costco run. I just needed something good to keep me from gorging on the frozen pizza, popcorn, and energy bar samples. I cruised around that little village thing looking for a place to eat. I wanted to try something different so I passed on Moes and decided to go with this little Mediterranean place called Olive Bistro. I walked in and there was nobody dining. There was a lady behind the bar, probably in her 30's who just says, "Sit anywhere." She brings me over a menu and walks away. Boy, this little ray of sunshine was so perky and full of life and made me feel oh so welcome. Just kidding. I felt like I was ruining her day. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Pita and a Greek Salad and she brought to my table, set it down and walked away. So sweet! The wrap and the salad, well they were really good but it definitely wasn't worth 11 bucks. She never came by to fill up my empty water cup and when it came time to get my check, she came by, placed it on my table and walked away. So cheery and sweet huh? Well I left a tip that mirrored the quality of her service... a big fat ZERO. Call me an asshole but hey, she worked for that "0". She was more concerned with playing on her phone behind the bar so whatevs. All in all, it was a good lunch but for the money and shitty service, it wasn't worth it. I would've had a better experience at Moe's and spent less money. I see no reason to even recommend this place. I can totally see this place folding up and being gone and forgotten a year from now.

Despite the bad review, we have decided to give it a try one more time. I ordered a combination of Flalafel, Hummus, Babaganouche and tabouli, and also an order of Moussaka. Falafel was tasty, fresh and crunchy! best tasting babaganouche in a looong time, lumpy with smokey flavor. Moussaka was delicious bad not too fond of the spicy tomato sauce, it felt like the sauce was destroying the yummy goodness. If they have left out the spicy tomato sauce I would have given five stars. Now the service, I was surprised, it was very good. I took a group of 6, all orders came out perfect, everyone had tiramisu and baklava with Turkish coffee. My tea never saw the bottom, when I feel it was getting low, magically it's full again. Everyone in the group was raving about it, it's been two weeks since the visit, everyone still raving about the quality of food. Thank you for great service and for the Yummy foods.

If you plan on coming with a group and want to split checks, make sure you bring a calculator. It is ridiculous that a restaurant establishment in 2015 refuses to split checks and then makes their patrons figure out what they owe. Food is decent but not great. One of the people in our party ordered the lasagna and the middle was cold. We will not be back.

I had a Mediterranean plate with hummus, tuscan beans, falafel and baba ghanoush. Meals are served with sliced pita. The hummus was perfect and the falafel was good. I know why it is called the "Olive Bistro" now. Each dish contains about a bottle of olive oil. I couldn't eat much of the beans or the baba ghanoush. They were both way too oily for me. Service was excellent. My friend had a curried rice and lentil dish that was really good. The tea was also perfect.

I really enjoy the food at Olive Bistro! Lots of options for vegetarians too! I usually order the platter where you can pick a few dishes. I get the falafel, baba ganoush, Tuscan white beans, and grape leaves. The falafel is crisp and spicy. Tuscan white beans have a good garlic flavor. Everything is yummy! The service is attentive and friendly too. Only thing is, last time I went I used a Groupon. When I paid I didn't realize they had added an 18% gratuity. So I tipped again. Would have been nice if our server had pointed that out or at least left the itemized bill when he bought the credit card slip back to sign. I ended up giving a close to 40% tip, and while the service is good, it's not that good! So, next time, I will be sure to double check my math. But I do plan to go back...like the food too much to stay away!

Rude staff! What is wrong with this restaurant? Where is the customer service? The management? The food is fine but the service sucks ass. I came here once with a friend, and received the slowest and worst service. Gave it a second try. The waitress looked pissed off to see me (they had opened 15 min prior and were currently empty). I ordered and she didn't give me an itemized receipt. I had to ask her how much the food was, because I wasn't sure if to-go gratuity was included. Was given a drink that had dripped all over the side. Asked her for a napkin for the dripping, and when she handed me my bag, she said I gave you some in there. The lady was so freaking rude and had so much attitude, I wanted to call her out on it. But I didn't. She had the meanest look on her face and didn't thank me or say goodbye. Her demeanor is horrible. She didn't deserve a tip for pressing a button and handing me a bag. That I don't give a shit rude attitude service will put you out of business.

Good amount of options (even for vegetarians)! We sat outside for lunch and it's placed in a beautiful courtyard across cinebistro. Their falafel was fresh and cooked to order. Hummus was nice and creamy. The spices in the Greek salad dressing made the salad an excellent side. The service was great as well! Highly recommended.

Pretty decent food here for such a hole in the wall. I had the Caesar salad which had a bit too much dressing and Parmesan but the lettuce was fresh nonetheless. I also had a rosemary chicken pita pocket. Although the chicken was tasty, it had way too much Tahini sauce. I had a single lamp chop for $5.99 which was excellent. The waitress was super nice and accommodating and told me about the bottomless mimosas which just might make the trip here're worth it.

Delicious Mediterranean plate - best thing here are the dolma/grape leaves. The falafel, tabouli and hummus are also delicious.

We dine here often because of the healthy options. The food is really good but a little pricey for the amount of food you get. We have good service the majority of the time. The wine is decent as well.

    (4)
  • Chris H.

The falafel is the BEST in town, hands down. This is what you come to the Olive Bistro for. It is perfectly cooked and spiced. The other big winner is the baklava. They use pistachios instead of other nuts, and it's not drenched in honey like some other places.

  • T G.

My husband and I were having a light Sunday brunch and thought this looked just right. I had a gyro and he had the Philly gyro, tea, and a large Greek salad to split. The salad was small and nothing exciting. The tomatoes were green! Our gyros were awful. The meat was thin and pre sliced and the wrap was dry. I think they went to Costco for all the ingredients. The gyro also comes with a bag of chips and is served in a plastic tray. Our final bill was $29 plus tip. Never again.

  • Alena A.

I really wanted to like the place. Love being able to sit on a patio and have a nice meal. However the food is really bad, just not tasty, we actually had to return one of the dishes (a pasta dish) because it was almost inedible, way too much thyme. I am giving it 2 stars because the waiter did not cause any trouble and did not charge us for the dish we returned. So, service is all right but the cuisine is, alas, very poor.

  • Kelly T.

This was disappointing... When we arrived, we looked at the menu with many options and was excited about the evening. The appetizer was good. We had the Zorba Meza and the only real complaint was the gyro meat which was real thin. For my meal I had the Greek which after reading the description, I was really looking forward to it. Again, the gyro meat was very thin and not much of it. It didn't look as if it was carved on site and appeared to be packaged. My daughters meal, the Mousaka, looked great. But it was hot on top and cold inside... in other words, microwaved. For the prices they charged, I expected better. I don't plan to return.

I might be a little bias because I live the plaza but the food was delish! I got the chicken ravioli and it was the best I ever had. Service was good. Our waiter was attentive and nice; constantly checking on us. The pita bread was awesome as well!

Enjoy the food here it. It was the beef lasagna and chicken kebob. The food was average. Definitely had better. But for a quaint peaceful time thia place is not bad.
