My first dining experience at Ocean Prime was a month or so after they opened and it was mediocre...at best. I decided to go back to give them another try and wow, what an experience! Service: Everyone from the person who opened the door, to the Hostess to the Dining Manager was pleasant and personable. We were promptly seated upon our arrival and given just enough time to get comfortable in our booth before being approached by our waitress. Our waitress was a little "stiff" but she was attentive. The Dining Manager stopped by periodically throughout our meal to see how things were going and even suggested a dessert wine to accompany the carrot cake. The food: We had the Ginger Salmon, Ashely Farms Chicken and 2 of us asked to have Blackened Salmon...sides were garlic mashed potatoes and spinach...everything was yummy and cooked to perfection. We finished with the carrot cake which is absolutely DIVINE! The atmosphere: I LOVE the "swanky" decor. I felt like the Rat Pack would show up at any minute :) The bar area is lovely and the live music definitely adds to the overall vibe. The entire experience was pleasurable. I would definitely recommend this place for everything from a 1st date, a night out with friends to a group gathering (I noticed private event rooms as I made my way back to the ladies room). I looks like they've worked the kinks out so I will be sure to return for both business and pleasure!

Overpriced, corporate feel, loud, service is not that great but not horrible. Nothing is special about this place. They try to be a seafood restaurant and a steak place but aren't great at either one. I would not go back unless someone else was paying.

Poor pretender of SoBe's Prime 112. Place was dead on Monday. The tuna tartar was good, but the crab cake and filet mignon were below standard. Worse of all, had stomach problem that night...

Awesome food and awesome service! We had our own private room for a friend's birthday and it was a lovely experience. Perfect for dinner dates or a special night! Yes, it's PRICEY! You pay for the environment and the food! Beautiful and tasty restaurant and staff is very professional.

I went this week as part of an office party. The price made me happy that I did not have to pay the bill. The food was average with other similar establishments in the area. The private room was spacious and adequate for our needs. The servers was friendly but the courses were a little slow. The food quality is the best feature. The sea bass was great, not fishy, and not heavy.

By far my favorite restaurant in Buckhead... The calamari is the best I have ever had in all my travels. Every item we ordered was perfectly cooked and brought out in a timely fashion. Music is played in the background, however, it isn't so loud that you can't hear your conversation at the table. Perfect ambiance... wonderful experience...

Elegant and sets the standard for "trendy"... Upon entering the establishment we were greeted by several different staff members with smiles then promptly seated outside. It was such a lovely day with an awesome breeze. Seems as if everyone had the same idea because the restaurant was pretty empty inside. The outside dining area is pretty small maybe 8-9 tables so I can imagine that it fills quickly. There are ceiling fans and warming lamps so it is a good choice when the weather is fair. Random thought-- 90% of the men and women who work there are handsome and beautiful!!! It must be a part of the criteria??? Service: Very friendly staff. We had a great waitress who was prompt but we were also serves by a maitre d, manager and some other hospitality person. People were constantly walking around asking if we needed anything or for drink refills. It always great when there aren't people saying "Let me get your waitress for you." Instead they simply got drinks and took orders when needed. LOVED IT! Food and drinks were served quickly and plates and silverware refreshed almost instantly. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about service. Ocean Prime is at the top of my list. Drinks: All of my reviews include alcohol right? Well I had several. I fell in love with the Pear Grapefruit Fizz. It was more of a spritzer than an alcoholic drink but it was delicious. It went perfectly with the atmosphere. After two of those, I opted for something more potent... I'm not sure if it has a name but there is a large bottle of pineapples that have soaked in vodka. I had a chilled glass of whatever that was. I want to just call that danger in a glass. When you have vodka that tastes like pineapple juice you can lose awareness of what your drinking. Of course that's not my story but beware. It's a must try. Lastly chilled shots of Patron and Don Julio to finish the visit. We were there for hours folks! Food: I ordered the Crab Cake appetizer, Calamari and Truffled Mac & Cheese. The Crab Cake was plated nicely with crisp corn succotash (corn/cherry tomatoes). It had large amounts of crab meat but the flavor was just okay. The Calamari was a winner. It was fried crisp and tossed in a sweet Thai chili sauce. It didn't look very fancy but the portion was pretty large. The Mac & Cheese stole the show for me. My date may not have been super impressed by it but I was willing to lick the bowl and high-five the chef. It was cheesy and very flavorful, a mixture of cheeses and topped with parmesan cheese. Makes a belly happy. In my humble opinion if you do not order anything else just get the macaroni.

Buckhead restaurant week inspired us to try ocean prime, and overall it was ok. Service was good and the waitress was nice and attentive. Food was a bit slow and not great. Salmon was stinky (more than normal) and the rice was undercooked for sure. The steak was over done big time. Mid-rare showed up well done. French onion soup had a good broth. Truffle Mac and cheese was waaaayyy too truffly. All in all ok experience. Won't go back though.

This place was outstanding! Our server, Jordan, was courteous and very attentive. Could not ask for any more from him. my date and I each had an 8 oz. fillet and both were cooked perfectly. They were easily among the best steaks I've had in the city! We also shared some truffle fries, which were good. They weren't necessarily better than other truffle fires I'd had but they certainly weren't worse. The scalloped potatoes with Jalapenos were also fantastic. If you go, be sure not to miss the berries and bubbles cocktail! Great place to bring a date!

Good prompt service. Food was delicious but seemed overpriced for your standard menu offering. Has a cruise-like feel. You may or may not like this. Would I come again? Probably but not in a hurry.

Probably 3.5. Love the ambiance, bar, live music, and service. The food and drinks were slightly less memorable. One thing that really bothered me was the house vodka and tonic for $12. The granny apple and nut salad was good, but a little drenched in dressing, and most of the greens were iceberg. The ginger salmon was a very nicely sized piece of fish, and perfectly cooked. But the overall flavor was just okay for me. My husband loved his flat iron steak though, and said it was tender and cooked perfect temperature. Dessert was carrot cake, which was different with pineapple flavor intertwined. The icing is very light, and the flavor of the carrots was more subtle than I'm used to, but it was pretty good. Bottom line: I'd come here again, but was not blown away.

Start off with the outstanding food...when you finally get it. We arrived with a reservation and was promptly seated at 6:30p. Ordered a drink then started to check out the menu. Decided to order all items so, we could enjoy the atmosphere and our drinks without having interruption. Had our app, soup and then waited and waited and waited...8:45p and we ask for a manager. Dinner arrives ahead of our salad...still no manager. At 9p, the manager, Aaron, stops by to see why we are asking for him. We explain the situation and he promptly has a salad brought to the table then shortly after our main course arrives. The Filets were cooked to perfection (mid-rare). Aaron took care of us the rest of the evening without fail. Due to Aaron, we were considering giving OP another try at a later date but, later that evening, my better half felt sick. She ended up losing her dinner and has not been right for the last few days. We had virtually the same menu items with the exception of the flash fried oysters that she enjoyed the first time. Nothing like this experience. She will never allow us to give this place another chance...making her so ill that she has not been able to go into the office. I agree, just not worth taking a chance at getting sick. Avoid this place.

The best thing about this place is the ambiance, which is overly corporate and void of personality. Even for a chain Buckhead restaurant, this place is all show, overpriced, white coats, private dining areas, but sub par food. Since they seem to be a steak and seafood house, we ordered copious amounts of both-neither were at all impressive. The seafood was bland and the lobster was chewy rather than tender. I have officially had by my first tough and bland $44 ribeye. For steak and seafood, there are a million great places to go in this city, it seems lazy to not put more thought and care into the cuisine, especially for the cost. Rathburns Steak blows this place out of the water and is less expensive.

Visited Ocean prime for the first time for my boyfriends birthday. The service was wonderful and the drinks from the bar, especially berries and bubbles were outstanding. The food... We ordered an appetizer, 2 entrées, a dessert and ended up with three sides. The appetizer, the shortribs and scallops was good but nothing really to write home about. The short rib sauce was a little too heavy for the scallops but it was prepared well however not the best "surf and turf" combination. For the entrées we had the ribeye and the Seabass. Both were good however not something that I could make at home. They had flavor but there was just nothing at all special about either dish. The sides... The twice baked potato, brussels sprouts and the creamed spinach. Twice baked potato was the worst I have ever had. It was a potato they baked, then fried, then loaded with not so creamy mashed potatoes, then layered cheese on top. Gross! We ended up sending it back and getting the cream spinach which was just ok. There was nothing special about it that really made it stand out as awesome cream spinach worth $12-$15, or whatever it cost. The only side that I really enjoyed was the brussels sprouts. All in all, the food was definitely just three stars. At the price point I was expecting to be wowed but I was ultimately let down. Don't get me wrong, it was good (minus the twice baked potato) but I have no reason to ever go back to Ocean Prime unless I'm going to the bar for a drink and enjoying the ambience.

The food here is delicious. Everything from cocktails, apps to our entrees were impeccable. Our service was excellent and we never wanted for anything. The sea bass was cooked perfectly, not overdone at all, absolutely delicious. We can't wait to go back.

The restaurant is officially closed as of 9/12/15. Had dinner here and the food was exceptional. I enjoyed the sea scallops and risotto. They brought my salad out with my dinner. Sides weren't brought out to the table with our main courses, menus were still left with the table, silverware and napkins were not provided. Overall, the service was horrible but they attempted to resolve their mistakes quickly. I'm from MI originally and have much better service at the Troy, MI location.

We were visiting Atlanta for the weekend and wanted to find a special place for dinner, and Ocean Prime proved to be perfect for the occasion. Our waiter, Jordan was very polite, swift and informative. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered advice and suggestions many times throughout the meal. He made this a very special dining experience for my boyfriend and I, and we really appreciated his excellent service. The food was fantastic, some of the best steak I have ever had. We also enjoyed the caesar salad and creme brûlée. The sides were very good, we got whipped mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. They're served family-style, but can also be split into a single portion.

I dined here when my colleagues and I am so glad I found this place thanks to Yelp. I'm going to keep my review of Ocean Prime short and sweet. Definitely a 5 star experience: drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts and service were all top notch. Everything we ordered we loved and highly recommend trying. Also, our server Simonia (hope I spelled her name right) gets two huge thumbs up. This lady knows the menu like the back of hand. The Cucumber Gimlet she recommend was the truth! Drinks - Dirty Martini - Jack & water - Cucumber Gimlet Appetizers - Calamari - Surf N Turf - Shrimp Sautée Entrees - 8oz Filet - 8 oz Filet with jumbo scallops on top (was a feature item) - King Salmon - Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes Sides - Asparagus - Truffle Mac & Cheese - Truffle Fries - Lobster Mashed Potatoes - Creamed Spinach Desserts - Creme Brûlée - Chocolate Cake

Valentines Day dinner. Wonderful! We got there around 6pm. We didn't have reservations so we had to sit at the bar. Which was fine bc we were close to the piano and saxophone player. We ordered two crown royals and the amount given was pretty generous. I also ordered the bubbles and berries. I loved it. I thought it was very cool looking. Food- Appetizer: goat cheese ravioli Main course: Sea bass (tender), creamed spinach and whipped mashed potatoes. Very good. Lobster tails, asparagus, Mac & cheese. Very good All and all the best part of my meal was the creamed spinach. It tasted like it was cooked in some kind of smokey flavor. AWESOME!!!! Big side portions. $43 for some fish (sea bass) the size of my hand is a bit extreme but I'll take the big bill to include the lovely ambience, mellow music, and great service as well as the food. This place is no where near cheap so keep that in mind.

A great steak but the Chilean sea bass fell flat, but that 10 layer cake put them back int the game and the French press produced a beautiful coffee to comment the worlds best carrot cake (they just took j Alexander's down) all new champ!!!!!! Carrot cake !!!

Even though the waiter that was originally assigned to our table pretended not to see us and left us sitting for ten minutes no water nor bread, even after overhearing a co worker ask the waiter who ignored us why he wasn't waiting on his tables (I won't make any assumptions) the food was remarkable. The waiter who took care of us was patient when we had to taste the wine. Once he waited on us the experience was wonderful and the food was beyond amazing. The valet parking also takes away the stress of driving around looking. Can't wait to go back!!

Phenomenal dinner in the patio. Great service and atmosphere outside on a nice evening. Excellent wine list and varying options depending on you price point. The Chop Chop salad was big enough to split between the two of us. Very light and refreshing. For dinner, I had the scallops with risotto. Risotto was a bit salty for my tastes but the scallops were cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the Baked Alaska and the 10 Layer Carrot Cake. Delicious!!!! Definitely will return on an upcoming trip back to Atlanta. We made a reservation but probably was necessary on this weekday evening.

We had a perfect anniversary meal last night. The Berries and Bubbles was a great start. We shared the crab cake appetizer and it was tons of crab with a delicious sauce and corn salad. Then I had the NY Strip with truffle butter and it was cooked to perfection and so good I didn't even add salt or pepper. My husband had the halibut which was fanatic! Best I have ever had for sure. We had the truffle mac n cheese and the Brussels sprouts and both were yummy. Desert was the creme brule which had a nice thick carmelized top. All in all it was a fantastic experience and we will be back.

Wonderful birthday dinner last night at Ocean Prime! I used Open Table to make the reservation and I received a courtesy call one day prior to confirm. It was about 12 degrees last night in Atlanta and the valet attendant greeted with a smile and opened the door for me as if it was sunny outside. This was my second time at the restaurant; therefore, I knew how beautiful it was and my date was very impressed. We were greeted again with a smile and I advised of the reservation. Once it was confirmed I asked the hostess to take a few pics of us which she seemed happy to comply. We were seated in a booth near the bar per my request. The restaurant was not full due to the weather which was fine with me because it felt more intimate. Our waitress has a bubbly personality and asked if someone was celebrating a birthday. I kept the bubble going and started singing Happy Birthday to him, while she joined in. Needless to say, he was embarrassed but we thought it was cute. We started with the bubbles and berries, which he loved! By the end of the night each of us had four! The bread was soft and hot, my blackened red fish was the best and he raved about the tender New York Strip. We also ordered the asparagus, black truffle Mac & cheese and parmesan truffle fries. Everything was delicious! For dessert I had the baked alaska and he had the ten layer carrot cake. We only took a few bites because both are large portions but they were fabulous! His dessert was free for his birthday (nice touch). We had had plenty of food and dessert left to take home. Wonderful place for Happy Hour or special occasion. The first time I came was for a birthday, we sat in the bar area near the piano and there was live music. Everyone was singing and dancing. It was great! I would recommend securing a reservation because it is usually very busy. Love this spot!

Ocean Prime was perfection! My boyfriend & I went here one night on a spontaneous dinner trip in the city. I've always heard great things but I don't always believe the hype so I had to come here myself and try it out. First, our waiter was amazing! He was very attentive, all the while waiting on all of his other tables and he never skipped a beat! Now, the food was superb! My steak was cooked to perfection and my mashed potatoes were perfectly fluffy. My boyfriend's dish was just as great. The only reason why I didn't give Ocean Prime 5 is because my drink was a little on the watery side. Overall, great place.

No joke, one star. Which is for SOME of the food. Let me start at the beginning. My wife and I made a reservation about a week in advance. Upon arriving, the restaurant was at about 60% capacity and our host led us to a hightop in the bar. No, not happening, not without asking us first and not for a reservation. When asked to move tables we were then given the second to worst table which was right at then entry of the main dining room. We sat there for about 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. This was to take a drink order, not to provide us with water or bread, that came another ten minutes later. The bottle of wine we ordered was out of stock. The waiter offered us several selections which he stated were at the same price point, which actually turned out to be 20% more expensive. The wine finally came and was poured. After the first sip, I noticed my wife's glass was chipped. Upon telling the waiter, he grabbed the glass and replaced it... With an empty one. I pointed out that he dumped a full glass of wine and he went to the back to see if he could "get it back". A decent wait later, after serving several tables, he came back and said he would get us a new bottle. This might have been the only aspect of service that was executed correctly. The waiter came back and poured a full glass for my wife to accommodate for the mistake. Kudos here. 1/4 star awarded. Upon receiving the oysters we ordered for an appetizer, I questioned the busser which oysters were from which region. He response was, "I don't know, I wasn't there for pit stop." I don't really know what pit stop is, but if I'm paying almost 40 dollars for a dozen oysters, I expect the staff to know which is which. The oysters were very fresh and probably the highlight of the meal. Another 1/4 star here. Upon receiving the entrees, I had to question the palette and sanity of whoever designed the menu and purchased ingredients. While the proteins were cooked perfectly (1/2 star added here), the flavor profile of the dish simply wasn't there. But the real coup de gras was the use of frozen peas in both dishes. This is entirely unacceptable, there's no pea shortage. This is entirely unacceptable. You could see freezer burn on them and they had the dry mealy consistency of frozen peas. You cannot charge $43 per dish to include sub par ingredients. Hals, Bones or Chops would never do this. And frankly their service is worlds better than this. I'll be telling all my friends and co workers never to come here, there is no redeeming quality that cannot be had elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere.

This restaurant is very good. Moderately priced, several nice dishes, live jazz in the bar. Makes for a great evening. What I liked: 1) There are several good dishes. Not wow dishes, but good as you would expect for a higher end restaurant. Our favorite dishes are the lobster cocktail - super fresh and delicious; the lobster bisque - really rich and creamy with a slight kick; the tuna tartare with avocado is good, and the crab cake is excellent. The salads are pretty good too but nothing special. 2) Live music. The bar area of the restaurant has live jazz which makes it a nice place to dine. 3) very good wine list. 4) Good availability. This place has tables when better places are booked up. What could be better: 1) Nothing really wows you on the menu. 2) The service isn't great. They try to be very service oriented, but there are 2 consistent issues: (1) They don't listen well and sometimes bring you an extra drink even if you said no; (2) They interrupt the conversation a lot. They should be present, but they don't need to ask how things are fifty times. 3) The dessert menu is not that great. Usually we now go elsewhere for desserts,

My partner and I came to Ocean Prime on a Thursday night during the Buckhead Restaurant Week promotional. We had dinner reservations for 9 o'clock and arrived approximately 20 minutes late, however, upon arrival we received a warm welcome and was given the option to sit in the formal dining room or the Blu lounge which is more casual. We chose to be seated in the dining room. This was our first time dining at Ocean Prime so we thought trying them out during Buckhead Restaurant Week would be the perfect time to see what dishes they are highlighting on their pre fixe menu for $35 per person. Our server nicely went over the drink and food menus with us and brought fresh complimentary bread to the table. For our first course, I ordered the signature salad and my partner ordered the French Onion Soup. Both starters were good, but the French Onion soup was superb. For the main course I ordered the Teriyaki Salmon and my partner ordered the Filet Mignon. Again, both entrees were excellent! For dessert, we shared the raspberry and lemon sorbet and the five-layer carrot cake. The carrot cake was very decadent and the sorbet was very smooth and creamy. For a fine dining restaurant that requests diners to adhere to their business causal dress code, the service here could have been a bit better. This reason is what kept this restaurant from receiving a five star rating. But besides average service, Ocean Prime was great!

The food is consistent with other Ocean Prime locations but the service is not. I was visiting Atlanta and decided to go to the Ocean Prime in Buckhead. A member of my party got turned away because he was wearing Nike pants. We left so he could change then came back with proper attire to sit in the bar area. After getting our meals a party came in with gym clothes, tennis shoes, and basketball shorts. I spoke to the manager about the inconsistency in their dress code and he had no explanation. The service was also very slow.

This restaurant is fantastic! The service is impeccable and the presentation of the dishes themselves is superb! I've come here twice and both times I've just been blown away. We've had the salmon cooked to perfection with mashed potatoes, corn, and broccoli. Not only is it healthy but it's tasty. They offer complimentary valet parking and have heaters outside the restaurant to warm you up as you wait for your car. The environment and décor in the restaurant are very classy as well. They are located right across the street from Fogo de Chao. To be honest, I'd rather come here! This establishment is certainly top notch! Definitely give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

We had an excellent dinner last night. I've been to the ocean prime in Tampa and this was my first time at the atlanta location and they did not disappoint. I had the ny strip and my wife had the seabass, with the tuna tartare as our appetizer. All the food was delicious and our server (justin I think his name was) was great and very down to earth. We didn't have any room left for dessert this time. However I do know that the blueberry cheesecake is delicious. I would recommend to anyone, it's worth to money.

Kind of hard to give this place a positive review after the dinner we had while there at a trade show. Ocean Prime was new for everyone, save for the person who recommended, but the place is rated well and in Buckhead. We had drinks with a bartender that didn't know his selection, which at a place like this is sorta surprising. Reservations for our group of 10 were made a few weeks in advance, so we had no trouble taking a seat, but things started getting iffy from there. We ordered drinks and were immediately asked for our orders...while the drinks were still being served (this would be a common theme throughout the night.) Our waitress was dodgy...she'd be asked for from someone at the table, but would just walk away...it was sorta odd. Appetizers were ordered after everyone had their drink, and they eventually came after a long wait. I'd be okay with this given I like slow dinners...but they staggered the appetizers out between members of our party. And some took a good while to get to the table...and inbetween this service we're getting asked for our main order. Kinda weird. After an exceptional wait of around 30-40 minutes on a night where nowhere near half the tables have guests, we start getting our food. In batches. While we're waiting, we place an order for a bottle of wine. One in our party is a collector and he gets a well rated, but not too expensive bottle for a few of us to share. After 15 minutes we ask for the bottle to be told they are still getting it. Another 5 minutes go by and the waitress brings a bottle from the same vineyard, but their highest-end offering. We point this out as to not cause a mix-up. After another 10 minutes, we're told that bottle is apparently not in stock. The sommelier comes by and asks us what we'd like. The response was simple; we've waited 20 minutes for a drink, you presented the wrong bottle, just offer that one at the price listed for the one we ordered. The sommelier immediately and flatly refuses. This is where it gets weird. As soon as he refuses, both the sommelier and our waitress simply walk off as a couple of us look for a menu. We have no wine list so we can't look for another option. After 5 minutes, he returns and asks how to fix the night. We again insist that due to the poor service, weird service pattern and this mix up that the bottle should be offered. He relents and they go ahead and pour, a difference in price around $150 between the two bottles. The food is here by now. The steaks weren't anything I'd write home about, though a few guests enjoyed their seafood. After the meal, we all agreed that Ocean Prime is another attempt at the 'high-end chain' restaurant approach that does little to offer anything better than a steakhouse or a seafood place. Decent, but there is always a better option. It was a weird night, quite inconsistent and though they made good on their screw up, they fought us and ignored us hoping we'd shrug it off. All in all, it was a 'stop/start' kind of night. Orders take time, but to fire a meal and serve it doesn't take 40 minutes, even for a table of 10 on such a slow night. Some in our party were visibly angry...I just cracked up as this isn't anything unusual with my family. Mistakes happen, but that service was terrible.

Food was fabulous. Per yelp reviews the truffle Mac & Cheese is a must and it did not disappoint. Along that I had the 8oz filet. Cooked perfectly and ohhh sooo delicious. I can taste it now. Atmosphere felt upscale, white table cloth but felt adequately dressed in a button down shirt and jeans. Lighting was romantic. Kitchen is open but divided by see through glass. Several private rooms available for that special dinner. Booths and tables available. Bar had a good feel to it. We didn't partake but I had to check it out. Piano man was signing in the corner. Very soft and delightful throughout the dining area as well. Horseshoe bar, high tables and lounge seats available. Great mood lighting. Bathrooms were clean and matched decor of Restuarant. Service was attentive, polite, and nice looking but wasn't very knowledgable or helpful. In particular when asked about beers he said only bottles and domestic. When ordering a bud light he replied w miller light? After dinner I made a trip to the bar to check it out and there were several beer choices domestic, import, and tap. This was a small thing and the only thing that I was displeased with. Food and atmosphere was a 5 star. Because of the mishap of service I've rated w 4.

Now I'm only writing giving this review 3 stars because of my beautiful drink and shy server. Though it seem like he was new on the job he very good my party of 4 etc. Now I made reservations at 9:15 my party was not sat till 30 mins later. It seem as though the restaurant forgot me and my guest was in attendance considering they sat walk ins before us. The attitudes was horrible now let's skip to the food I believe I've had better steak at red lobster (get it)! No offense but if I'm paying close to 50 bucks for a steak I expect it to be great! Well it was horrible. The drink was delightful it was some bubbly concoction that was very sweet! The corn was good as well. The lobster mash was HORRIBLE small portions in powder potatoes is not ok lol! Would I go here again? Only for the drinks and corn! Lol

Visited on a Saturday evening with a party of 4. Seated quickly in a booth beside the kitchen - the dining room was only about 2/3 full with a few tables remaining empty thru our visit. The waitstaff was very attentive with orders taken quickly, drinks refilled, bread replaced, etc. without asking. The only recommendation I would have is to ensure the staff is knowledgable about the fish and its preparation - our server struggled to explain the difference between the halibut and sea bass. I'd also recommend that some attention be given to the valet parking company - cars were stacking up coming and going with two very casual valets. Food was nothing special . We shared 2 dozen oysters plus a shellfish tower for appetizers. The oysters were large and fresh with the liquor thankfully intact; unfortunately the king crab, lump crab and shrimp in the tower were sparse and nothing special. All entree fish selections are pan seared with varying additions but basically the same concept across the board. Halibut was cooked just right but piled atop gnocchi and topped with tomato paste - it would have been far better had it not been swimming in watery tomato liquid. Redfish was also cooked well and had much more pleasant accompaniments and preparation. The pricing is what you would expect for a top-end seafood restaurant - our bill for 4 was about $350 excluding tip (this included one cocktail, one glass of wine and one dessert with the rest being menu items). I think that the value was subpar and the kitchen needs to step up its game to justify the prices.

I'd just like to start off by saying I totally love this place ! It's very romantic if you bring a date, yet it also gives that " sex in the city " vibe if it's just a night out with you and your girlfriends... I've been a couple times with friends we sat at the bar and ordered cocktails before a night out. But the most recent time I went I was on a date, I immediately ordered the " berries and bubbles " ! Doesn't matter how many times I've been to this place that drink never gets old to me, and I always smile like a big kid when the drink starts to smoke like a volcano lolol. Once it's ordered once and women at other tables see, EVERYONE starts to order it! I really love that drink.. For dinner I had the salmon , medium well.. No complaints food is great , the place gives the trendy , romantic , upscale vibe.. There's also valet parking .. This is a place I will and I do continuously go back to .. Doesn't matter if I'm alone, I just grab a bar seat and order my meal .. I really really love this place . :-).

My fiance and I came here the day following Valentines day we just searched yelp until we found Ocean Prime. It was super handy to book a reservation from the yelp website. They have valet service but if youd rather not use it there are a few open parking spaces on the opposite side of the building. The ambience of the restaurant is quiet and calm. A perfect place to take a serious date. For appetizers I ordered the ahi tuna and my finace had the french onion soup. Mine won by far. It was the most amazing and flavorful dish I've had in a long time. I told him that I would be willing to just have that as my entree; thats how fantastic it was. For our entrees, I ordered the salmon and he ordered the yellowfin I believe. Mine was ehh. The tomato chunk sauce on top of the salmon killed the flavor of the fish. I just didnt think these two flavors agreed with each other all that well. The cocktails are awesome and are displayed nicely. I would come back to try another entree. But you must must must must get the ahi tuna. Amazing! :)

I really like this place! I came here visiting from NY and my cousin who lives in the area swears by this place. I got the lobster tails and the black truffle mac & cheese which was so delicious perfectly made. I also had the bubbly drink that is raved about that had a really great amount of alcohol in it and tasted great. Honestly from start to finish, from the ambiance to the food the experience was great. We were given popcorn when we first arrived and even the pop corn was delicious ! Everything was yummy, I have no complaints. Our server was extremely attentive but it wasn't very busy at the time so I can't attest to prime time service but I imagine its the same.

One of my favorite regular spots! Since it took the place of the old Sambucca's I have not been able to stay away. The food is delicious and never disappoints. I have never had bad food here no matter what time of day I come (brunch, early evening, or right before closing). The staff is always friendly and accommodating. However if you don't have a reservation, the bar area fills up quickly so come a little early 8-ish if this will be your pre-game spot.

I came here for my friends birthday dinner. We were waiting for a group and were early so we went to sit at the bar for a little while. I tried the berry and bubbles martini and it was a pretty cool drink. It was made with dry ice so when all the ingredients were added it look like a bubbly potion. It was a pretty good drink if you like fruity drinks. For dinner I ordered the crab cakes and received two large crab cakes that were very good. Everyone else's good looked excellent as well. However, my friend did order the lobster bisque as an appetizer and it was way too creamy and thick. Besides that the food did come out a little slow and this place is definitely pricey. I would probably save it for a special occasion.

My husband and I dined here with two other couples on NYE, and it was wonderful! We had a late reservation, so the restaurant was busy but not hectic, and we were seated within 5 minutes of walking in the door. The ambiance was perfect - definitely felt like a great place for a romantic occasion or a group celebration. The lighting was dim, and there was resonating piano music funneling in from the bar throughout our meal, the perfect setting for any occasion. Our waitress was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, definitely giving the right of personality and pizzazz to our meal. For appetizers we had tuna tartar, 1/2 dozen oysters, and the shrimp saute. All were excellent!! The shrimp were enormous, and the cheese bread that came with it was by far the favorite part of the appetizers for the table. The oysters were perfectly briny, topped with a deliciously spicy cocktail sauce. The tuna tartar was also excellent, with the tuna to other ingredients ratio being highly in favor of tuna. Seasoning was perfect. Entrees....everyone had steaks for the most part, and all were pleased. We got an assortment of "accessories," including the mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and garlic fries. My favorite were the fries, which were crispy on the outside and warm and tender on the inside. My husband and most of the table agreed that their favorite were the mashed potatoes - filled with cheese and gooey decadence. We had no room for dessert, but upon walking in immediately smelled a banana dish that I'm sure would have been wonderful. The wine list was great with tons of variety, and the cocktails from the bar were great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to the Buckhead area, and hopefully will get a chance to visit again in the future. Cheers!

Food is a 10. Service is a 10. The experience begins from the moment you walk through the door and doesn't end until you make your final exit. The Manager Jeff came over to our table, and mentions he noticed a half eaten steak on my plate and simply wondered why I had barely touched it (really)?...And the rest is history! A New 10 oz rib eye Omg so perfectly done & complimentary desert. It was more than I had expected, especially as a first timer. Truly a wonderful ending to a girls night out with an old friend. Just finished raving to the hubby. We are definitely going back!

I am writing to file a formal complaint against your restaurant, Ocean Prime in Atlanta. My wife and I dined at your location in ATL on 8/1, after reading great reviews on line along with word of mouth. Dinner was fine until I discovered I was overcharged by an overzealous waiter. He apparently got the two tables mixed up and charged me for both?? The dinner/drinks total was $174 ( incl. drinks/dinner), my card was charged $235.00. Two separate bills one at the bar and one at the table. I immediately alerted the manager who asked me to follow on Monday. I called on Monday Aug 3( as advised) and spoke with a person in management named Aaron, he advised that the situation would be rectified but failed to disclose how. In order to diligently follow up, I placed numerous calls to him during the week to find out 1- funds would be returned to my card 2- how he plan to correct the issue and ensure that I would be a returning customer. To no avail, I have yet to receive a return call. Today is Saturday Aug 8th. In sum, Atlanta has numerous restaurants with this same price point but we chose to patronize your establishment. In these trying times, I decided to treat my wife to a nice dinner but was OVERCHARGED and was met with a less than stellar experience. Important to note, that several headaches arose from being overcharged by your establishment. Inconveniences include 1 -my bank has subsequently charged NSF fees(I have had a great relationship with my bank for over 30 yrs.) 2- I have had to take time out of my scheduled work day to hound and harass, the general manager to address an issue that I clearly did not cause 3- 7 day later, still no return call. I am starting to wonder if customers really even matter. I have included the particulars in this dispatch. I expected to be treated fairly as I will not hesitate to litter the internet with not so positive but truthful reviews and advise all of my colleagues NOT to patronize this establishment or the entire CAMERON MITCHELL restaurant group. PS I am no stranger to this chain as we have dined at the Mitchell location in Columbus, OH this past March( that experience was polar opposite). GO BUCKS!

Ocean Prime really delivered a fantastic dining experience. Warm, friendly service throughout from our waitress; she was also knowledgable about the menu and drink options. We started by splitting a Caesar salad--the portion was huge even when split. Great dressing and fresh romaine lettuce. If you like anchovies, you should opt to have a few added on top. My wife had the yellowfin tuna - it was a great fish choice. The truffle jus really came through in the dish, making it very flavorful but not too heavy. I had the 14oz NY Strip. Steak was cooked perfectly. Very tender cut and you can skip adding a side sauce - the meat and light butter does the trick. Only complaint is that entrees do not come with a side of any kind. We got some garlic mashed potatoes to share. They were good but not the best I've had.

I am repeatedly amazed at how wonderful the food is at this place. For starters, the calamari can't be beat. It's fabulous! This past visit, my NY strip was cooked to perfection, exactly how I like it. I love their sides. The parmesen truffle fries and mashed potatoes were fantastic. Our waiter was extremely attentive. They have really done a wonderful job with the space. The ambiance is fantastic. My only complaint is that it's across the street from my favorite restaurant in Atlanta - Fogo de Chao. It's hard to enjoy any restaurant while looking at that place! :)

This place was fantastic. Every single person in our group of 21 was happy with what they ordered. I had an 8 ounce filet, medium, with blue cheese on top and a side of bearnaise sauce. It was such a great quality steak and cooked perfectly. Hats of to the chef. I am very bummed when you order a steak and it's not perfect. This was perfect. We ordered a variety of sides including mushrooms, carrots (OMG yummy!), brussel sprouts and creamed corn. We also ordered the 10 layer carrot cake and key lime pie for dessert and they were delicious. Our server was a doll. Everyone was super friendly. The manager even offered to buy two of us a drink while we waited for our driver to pick us up. How kind. We all enjoyed our night very much. Ocean Prime has a very nice ambiance. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, group outing or just plain old date night.

The food was prepared to my liking i had the ny strip as my meal with a side of buttered corn which were both cooked to a crisp and appetizing medium well as for the service it was excellent. It's a good place for almost any occasion be prepared to spend a little although it's worth it.

Awesome service thanks to Kimberly Smith. She was not our initial server but we requested that she return after our server kept forgetting to bring things to our table. Kim was helping out Simona. I ordered lamb chops. They were cooked perfectly. If definitely go back here for dinner. I went with some friends to celebrate a birthday but It was a nice romantic ambiance for couples.

Went here on a Wednesday night with a friend visiting Atlanta on business hence part personal, part business dinner...hellooo expense account!! Anyway, this place was a pleasant surprise. There was live music playing around 7pm in the bar area. We opted for the quieter dining room so we could play catch up. I highly recommend the calamari to start - has a great spicy kick to it. We got the iceberg wedge which was delicious per any steakhouse. I had the blackened snapper and he got salmon...both melt in your mouth delicious! Great dinner, not cheap but hey...when a friend's on business...what else is a girl to do???

Recently visited for a friend's birthday and I was blown away by how great the food was! I literally drive past this place at least 3 times a wee. I can't help but be upset that I am just now experiencing this. We arrived with many in our gang. Our reservation was still preserved even though we were tardy. I had arrived with the birthday girl and they told us we had to wait until the majority of the party was there before we could be seated. The hostess led us to the blue room lounge to wait on the others. It's so pretty and there were nice lounge seats to relax in and a nice wrap around bar in the center of the lounge. There was also a musician playing in the corner. The server offered us apps and we decided on truffle popcorn. It was AMAZING and homemade with truffle oil and seasonings! Birthday girl ordered 4 rounds for herself! ' My friend bought 6 bottles of wine inside. There is a corking fee to be noted. The waitstaff stored them away until we were ready for the next bottle! The server in the lounge popped open one of our bottles of Shiraz for us. He was very cool and quizzed us on our wine knowledge! We were finally seated by the hostess after our party arrived super late! The room was prime room 1. It was an intimate area and sexy too! The server's name was Simone (I think). She was quick in putting in our orders and quick too. We ordered a little of everything so we could sample it all. Apps-Ahi tuna tartare -avocado ginger ponzu- 4 stars Colossal shrimp-were huge and came out on dry ice-5 stars Dinner Entrees Teriyaki Salmon- PERFECT! 5 stars Blackened Redfish- PERECT-5 stars Crab cakes-couldn't try due to allergies :( Sides Malt Vinegar Fries-4 stars YUMMY Black truffle Mac and CZ-3 stars Twice baked potato-5 stars Brussels sprouts-4 stars Dessert 10 layer carrot cake-5 stars!!!! Blueberry Lemon cheesecake-4 stars! I loved everything for the most part and service was the best I've experienced in Atlanta!

Sophisticated experience without feeling robbed. We had the onion soup ( huge size!!!), the crab cakes - good portion, just a little kick - which were delicious, you can taste the flavor without overpower. For an enjoyable dinner experience ask for Jordan. He'll take great care of you.

Been to restaurant many times, now I know why they are no longer crowded!!! Service means a waiter comes within few minutes of seating down, not waiting 20-25 minutes later. Table beside us had to ask manager for a waiter. He finally showed. Then after we got first cocktail took another 20 minutes to get your second! Forget a third. Food is still good but without proper help want come back very often, what a shame!!

Looking for an exquisite dinner for a special occasion? Are you looking to experience some of the best world class customer service when it comes to fine dining?? Well look no further people because let me tell you that not even words can express how great of a first impression that Ocean Prime offered me last night! Ive had this place on me "To-Eat" list for a while now and I could just kick myself for not eating here so much sooner however I must say that waiting to eat here for my anniversary was a great choice! I couldn't have picked a better place! From when you pull into the valet all the way to the server you experience nothing but smiles and courteous gestures! I booked my reservation through open table with notes indicating that it was an anniversary we were celebrating and not only were we seated immediately but were seated and congratulated with two glasses of champagne! Amazing! On top of the champagne we were suggested the Berries & Bubbles and the Whiskey Clover for our cocktails! Appetizers we went with the avocado Tuna Tartare and Calamari! Both an epic hit!! Entrees I had the 16oz Rib-Eye Medium with an 8oz Lobster Tail my partner went with a Medium cooked Ribeye, mashed potatoes and Steamed Broccoli for sides! We topped dinner off with of course nothing else but the 10 Layer Carrot Cake! Best $210 ever spent! Will be returning!!

My fiancé and I came here 2/28/15 to celebrate our 3 year anniversary and Ocean Prime did not disappoint. The service was fantastic and I absolutely loved the live music; the saxophonist blew it out of the water. The atmosphere is upscale without being stuffy and the clientele is diverse. Love the free valet parking. The bar can get a bit loud but not rowdy. Now the food. To start, we had the scallops and braised ribs atop mashed potatoes and OMG...the ribs were sooooo tender and delectable and the scallops cooked to perfection. We also had the calamari and the waiter advised that they are never frozen and it showed..they were awesome and didn't have that chewy texture like most calamari as a result of being frozen. They've an impressive wine list. For dinner, my fiancé had the salmon which was sooo moist and delicious. The jasmine rice left much to be desired, however. I had the steak and it was pretty great but just a tad too much fat. For sides, we had the garlic mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Both were meh to ok. Skipped dessert. We have been to Chops (favorite), Capital Grill and a few other places that escape me right now and I can say that OP holds its own. Sitting back on the sofa and relaxing while enjoying good music and good food is an experience that is hard to beat and I appreciated that we never felt rushed. We will be back.

If your are looking for a place with any kind of ambience whatsoever do not come here. On a Friday night it's less than half full with dreary morgue-esq music. Upon arriving a full blown police officer handles your valet- seems a bit much. Oh, he also wanders around inside....is there something happening inside an upscale restaurant that warrants the popo keeping an eye of things? Moving on...the food is good. Solid filet....the king salmon was way too fishy and salty. Service was fine, nothing amazing. The salmon got sent back but despite having more staff than patrons, the manager couldn't be bothered to check up on why an entree got sent back. Not sure this place will last too long at this rate. Recommend Chops lobster bar.

FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC. A++. Can't wait to go back. My boyfriend and I went on a whim after Easter service. They had a special brunch menu so we ordered the blueberry French toast and the crab cakes Benedict. First off, I have never been to a restaurant where the staff was so pleasant, friendly, and seemed to enjoy their work so much. Our server, Jeff, is the nicest guy ever. He could probably make millions hosting a children's tv show he was so sweet. His recommendations were on point, but his service is both attentive and unobtrusive. The calamari appetizer he recommended was fabulous, fresh, tender, perfectly fired, and tossed in a delicious sweet and spicy sauce. The brunch appetizers were so good my heart skipped a beat - if a seafood restaurant can do brunch so well, I can't wait to try their specialities! ...is what I thought, until I saw my mom later that day and found out that she went for lunch and had the Chilean sea bass. I tasted her leftovers and, even cold, it was the best tasting fish I've ever had. Plus, the decor is modern and subtly ocean/nautical themed with a luxurious feel. I don't know why I ever spent money at other seafood joints when this place is leagues above its competition. I can't wait to go back!

OMG! The food is delicious and so worth the price. The service is exquisite. The drinks are amazing. I love this restaurant. Very romantic vibe and the ambience is simply beautiful. This place is goergous. I went here tonight for a birthday dinner and they have a number of private rooms which was nice for a group of 8 with glass doors. The bar/lounge area is very nice and they have have live jazz. If you want to have a romantic dinner this is a nice spot as well. They have a outdoor area with fireplaces and the interior design is lovely. They have valet parking too. They serve hot fresh bread and butter. The crab cakes, ravioli, and truffle fries are delicious. Then I had the chicken which was good as well.

First off, let me be clear: if you are interested in getting the best steak in Atlanta, you ought to go to Bones. The steak here is great, but it was over seasoned and they did not have a large variety on the wine list. If you want a glass of bold red wine, basically your only option is a cab or a red blend. However, they get 5 stars for excellent service and atmosphere. It was my date's birthday and I alerted them of this when I made reservations. The hostess told him happy birthday and immediately checked our coats and seated us. The waiter also greeted us, told my date happy birthday, then went through the whole menu plus specials. I had the 8 oz filet with shrimp scampi on the side (I didn't want the white wine sauce on my steak), truffle mac and cheese to split with my date, and half an order of brussel sprouts. The mac and cheese was wonderful, and I'd certainly order it again. My gin martini with blue cheese stuffed olives was also perfect, and the waiter was very attentive and remembered to bring my glass of Shiraz with my steak. They told him happy birthday several times throughout the night and gave him a free dessert with a candle and "happy birthday" written on the plate. It was a lovely evening and my date said he had a great birthday there. I'd definitely recommend it!

Went last Saturday with a group of 10 and sat in a private room. Service was extremely slow although to be fair it was friendly on the occasions when service showed up, food and drinks came out very slow, my water was empty for 20+ minutes multiple times and I started drinking the waters of my table companions. The aged bone-in filet was the worst I've had in Atlanta (compared to Hal's, McKendricks, Bones, or Chops), and wasn't even of reasonable quality - I didn't want to finish eating it. If you know me, you know I've never said that about a restaurant steak before. The house salad was mediocre at best. The black truffle mac was very good. The steak + salad + mac (no alcoholic drinks) cost me $86 with tip. Would I go back again? Never.

Our experience at Ocean Prime was absolutely DIVINE. The establishment is quite warmly lit, and the ambiance is nice without being stuffy. The service was impeccable, from the assistant server who delivered our ice water and bread, to our amazing, congenial server who made fantastic suggestions, to the bartender who kindly made us our amazing post dinner cocktails. We began with cocktails - a simple Makers on the rocks for the hubs and I tried the Berries and Bubbles cocktail at our servers suggestion... this drink is delicious and fun! Gran Marnier marinated berries and citron vodka topped with champagne and poured over dry ice. It was such a neat presentation! And the food....oh MY! The food was out of this world. There was not one dish I can say was not cooked perfectly! Every dish that came out had us rolling our eyes back in our head and moaning with delight! Our favorite appetizer was the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli with Golden Oak Mushrooms. I wanted to DRINK the sauce that it came with, but that would have been...inappropriate. (Instead i discreetly spooned it all onto my plate and sopped it up with the gorgeous sourdough bread that they brought to our table.) I am drooling thinking of it now.... The crabcake was divine, and had an excellent flavor and texture. None went to waste! (again...who needs butter when you have something delicious to dip the bread in? :)) For entrees, I selected the seared sea Scallops with Parmesean Risotto, and my husband the Pork porterhouse. the Pork was cooked perfectly to order, and the reduction it was served with was a perfect balance of savory, salt and sweet. My scallops were expertly seared and that creamy risotto made a divine accompaniment. I can't wait to eat more of it when i get home! YES! The portions are big enough to have left overs! And besides that, you will want to save room for dessert. The carrot cake was expertly paired with a "dolche" white port. These were MADE to be consumed together...quite the experience! And the peanut better mousse chocolate torte...so rich, but so ....LIGHT at the same time! At this point I was praying for a second stomach so I could finish it all! We did stop by the bar for a nightcap - and I can report there is a bar menu! Smaller, less expensive noshes for those of you who want to stop in, but feel compelled to save the place for a special occasion. My husband ordered a cucumber gimlet that I almost stole away from him...and that says a lot because i do not drink gin!!! I finished my glass of Pinot noir and enjoyed the ambiance and got a little sad i had to go home - because that place, my friends - is a FOOD VACATION.

This place was surprisingly the best meal I have ever had. Was in town to celebrate a birthday/engagement and the staff was so generous and considerate to us. Had the best prepared steak of my life here and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her halibut. Their cocktails were delightfully refreshing as very few cocktails are and for dessert we had the peanut butter pie which also exceeded all expectations. Love this place. Definitely make this experience at least once.

We went to Ocean Prime for a 2nd time. The first time was a total disappointment. We decided to give it another chance. The mgmt knew we coming because they sent me a give card. We were basically seated in the room as the previous occasion. The managers immediately came to telll us that anything was needed, we were to be sure that we receive. We ordered wine and a cocktail which took about 20 minutes to receive. Then came the bread which tasted like it was from the night before and wasn't even warm. There was a small vial of whipped butter ( not enough for more than one person), and when for more, it never came. We ordered our entrees. My wife had the king salmon to which she said it was delicious. I ordered a filet mignon, medium well, but came out rare. I also mushrooms & onions, truffle butter, and bernaise sauce, all of which were very delicious. The server came over asked how we were doing. Rather than tell her of complaints, I decided to just leave alone. The experience of OP could be better if the kitchen had their act together, which according to a past experience, they still do not. Management tries very hard to appease the customer for the scewups that kitchen creates. When paying these kind of prices for a meal that really is overpriced for what you receive, a better expetience can be had at other establishments in and around the general area of Buckhead or even Lenox Square. I have tried many, many restaurants in the Atlanta Area for many years, some of those establishments have made it, and some haven't. I can understand what the "draw" is for Ocean Prime, because it isn't place which I would call out of this world. There are much more places to enjoy a high quality meal, without the pretentious bullshit that is associated with Ocean Prime.

Oh hey, know what's not a good idea? Ordering 2 glasses of JW Blue at this restaurant. It was $100 for 2 drinks. Whoopsie. Anyway, on to the food. Ordered 4 apps: lobster bisque, French onion soup, tuna tartare, and the "surf & turf" scallops & short ribs. They were all yum, yum, yum. By the time the steak came out (Kansas City - dry aged) I was FULL. But because I'm obsessed with food, I ate more anyway. The steak was excellent. As was the twice baked potato and black truffle mac & cheese. BLACK TRUFFLE MAC & CHEESE, PEOPLE. DOES IT GET ANY BETTER??? Everything was amazing. So amazing that I passed out as soon as I got into the car. Love this place. Highly recommend. Oh, PS. You have to valet and it was completely backed up when I went. Might want to get there a bit on the early side so you're not stuck in a huge line of traffic waiting to park.

Great spot, upscale and attentive service. The blackened snapper was choice, albeit a little heavy with the sauce. Vince was a great bartender.

Deliciously sexy atmosphere, cocktails and food and a Buckhead Atlanta location. Next time I will try the dry ice bubbling martini...I had a perfect citron scallops risotto paired perfectly with a wine. We did not have a reservation but were perfectly happy sitting in the bar area where the tables were almost like those in a dining room.

Great seafood! Great service! Valet!!!!! Bar and ambience superb. I love a speciality drink they serve called " bubbles and sum thing... " lol! Unquote! Easy to make a reservation on open table too. I absolutely love this white cloth place! Crab cakes superb! Red snapper absolutely light and flavorful!

I have been to Ocean Prime twice now and it has been great both times. A friend and I originally discovered this spot during Buckhead Restaurant Week 2012. Service: Top Notch! The servers there provided a clear "tour" of the menu which was excellent and thorough. Food: Awesome and succulent! My steak was done to perfection and I had no complaints at all. I wasn't crazy about the desserts but they weren't bad...just not totally for me. Ambience: Very nice and welcoming. From the front door to the bar/lounge to the dining area to the lighting, it was all very well packaged and warm. For anyone who hasn't been there, I encourage you to give it a try!

Why did it take so long for me to visit Ocean Prime? I don't know. I visited on a swanky Saturday night date night. We sat at the bar, which was chill and relaxing with the slow jazz favorites coming from the two man ensemble. There was also not a wait, at 8:30! The bartender prepared me two of the best Mixed Berry Mojitos I have ever had! It gets better. We chose two appetizers as a light meal, the calamari, which gives Two Urban Licks a run, and also the Ahi Tuna, which was Ahhhhh-mazing.

I travel to Atlanta regularly for business but try to get some pleasure in with my girls in the evenings :-) This last visit, my girl Jennifer took me to Ocean Prime for dinner my last night in the A and what a treat! The food was on point and the drinks "bubbles & berries" were an experience! The staff is very professional and friendly and the decor is very upscale and romantic. Can't wait until the next visit.

Yummy McYumster is what I will say. So you know I don't do the super long detailed reviews because (sweet brown voice) "Ain't nobody got time fa dat". I keep it short and simple... Bottom line is you wanna know should you go, is the food good, is the service good, and the best things to order. Soo I had the lobster ravioli for an appetizer and Yassssssss hunny it melted in my mouth. I tried to be classy but that went out the window when I placed another order for an appetizer.. Fortunately my companion was like "order what ever you wish sweetheart".... Oh lord why did he do that... And I replied "your wish is my command bae" (lol). I then ordered the crab cake appetizer, and being from Maryland I'm used to lumpy crab meat and this crab cake was just "okay". From there I had the pork porterhouse and truffle Mac and cheese... This was outstanding but too much truffle for my palette...the pork was tender and the wine sauce was mild and flavorful. And for dessert (drumroll please) I had the chocolate peanut butter pie. (Don't judge me) it was very light and fluffy and it didn't give me the cotton glue mouth or bubble guts feeling you get when you eat a chocolate peanut butter dessert. Rich but light! Service was outstanding as well!!! My companion had the steak and said it was good but not outstanding. So there you go! Bon appetite!

Went for my bday as a surprise from my awesome girlfriend. She ordered the surf and turf to start. It was amazing. The creamed spinach is the best I've ever had. Bone in filet was perfect. Drinks were made well and the service is top notch.

Visited OP for my anniversary dinner last week. I am happy to report back that I am def a fan. While the location for me is priced for special occasions I would highly recommend it and also visit again. Made reservations and was seated immediately upon arrival. My bf and I sat in the loungy bar area in a booth. There was live music but neither not intrusively loud. We could speak w/o straining to hear and while the bar was across from us the ambiance was great, no exceptionally loud tables or groups. A def plus in my opinion. Our waitress was friendly and polite. Her timing on serving us was appropriate, between her checking on us and at least two different management types stopping by our table as well to check on us we did not feel ignored. We started with salad which were not wilted or overly saturated with dressing. The size of the salad made it sharable just fyi. My entree was the chilean seabass which was good I can't say great because I like a firmer fish and maybe if it had been cooked just a smidge longer it would have had the consistency i love but by no means did I NOT enjoy it. It was good seasoned right ( i find too many places under season seafood for my liking), and the little carrots (more of a garnish than a side) were so sweet and good, my actual side were the whipped potatos; also good. Now the real reason this place got a high rating was my BF's snapper. He ordered the blackened snapper with spinach. When it arrived at our table and he took his bite I sorta looked out the side of my eye and asked how it was ( we only eat seafood and he is picky) HE LIKED IT. It was actually smoked and had that real blackened flavor of not just heaping some "cajun" mix on the top. In summation (i like saying that), we had a good time. My first time dining there and would be more than happy to go back for another special occasion dinner. Thank you for a great anniversary dinner Ocean Prime. ps: for two ppl salad appetizer, sep entrees, a spite and two cocktails ~ 140

OK, I must say that this place is very overrated. Before I go into detail, I'm giving it 3 stars for ambience. Other than that, it's cool. I went here for a friend's birthday dinner. I ordered a drink since I got there before the rest of the party arrived. The server was badgering me about paying for my drink before I sat down with my party. I'm like what the hell is that about. I've been placed that weren't as nice and didn't have that issue before. I've been red lobsters and Chili's and haven't had this problem and I was dressed in a very nice 3 piece suit. Beyond wine, expect weak drinks and I think they manage to water that shit down as well. I ordered a patron Margarita before dinner and a double patron Margarita after dinner and I didn't taste any alcohol in either one. I ordered a fila mignon medium rare and it was more medium and done than I like. I also ordered garlic mashed potatoes which were creamier than I like and I didn't taste any garlic. The only way I would go here again is if I'm trying to impress a very special lady or a corporate meeting meeting. Other than that, I'll pass and just go to Agave. If you really want to get your money's worth, you should go across the street to fogo de Chao. The actual service you get from the place is cool, but not exceptional.

Had reservations for 8pm and wasn't seated until 8:20. Food took long to arrive and when it did my steak was cold. They got it right after I sent the plate back and offered me a complimentary dessert. I accepted. The drinks were good though. I will not dislike this place after only one visit. I will see how things go the next time I am in town.

I think it was the company more than the food that I enjoyed about this place. Having been in Atlanta for work, I had the honor and pleasure to take out one of my favorite clients and their friends... and I couldn't have enjoyed it any more than we did. Fortunate for us 'we' had a connection with one of the servers - and although she seemed great as it was, knowing someone always helps with top notch service. We ended up having nothing but several appitizers - and before we knew it, we were all full and had no room for a main course.... I am going to assume however that the food is just as good here - as it is in Dallas.... But you know what they say about assuming.... The only thing I didn't like was being forced to valet your car. But I have a problem with valet service, I at least like the option to park my own car. (I have had to many things stolen out of my car to trust some punk kid..) All in all - it was a great place, it was super busy so that is a good sign for anyone wanting a good meal.

The outside of this restaurant is misleading to the decor and atmosphere inside. Despite the other reviews below, our service and food was excellent. The service we received was top notch. The bar scene and entertainment there was excellent. I would go here for drinks/appetizers.

My husband took me here for my birthday. We had high expectations based on the reviews here but were deeply disappointed. First off, we had to wait for a table despite the fact that we had a reservation and they knew it was a special occasion. After waiting for 30 minutes, they could only offer us a booth at the noisy bar. We took it since we were hungry. We ordered calamari (good), scallops (good but small portions), risotto that came with the scallops was SO SALTY to make it inedible. I ordered the king salmon which I had to return - I was not paying $40 for that small piece of fish that I make better at home. The "lobster" that it came with was 4 tiny, tiny pieces - which were delicious. I ordered the chicken & veggies - ok but again, I make better chicken at home and it doesn't cost me $30. The only items I liked were the prime margarita (fresh grapefruit juice - delicious) and the blueberry cheesecake (delicious). All in all, the only reason to go to this place is if you want to hang out with the "cool crowd" and want to pay 2X for mediocre food. Needless to say, I will not be visiting this establishment again.

I'm surprised the overall rating missed 4 star. At a private lunch meeting, the staff were very attentive, courteous and prompt. There was a mix-up of my order but that was corrected very quickly. I had the blackened fish served with spinach and potato scallop (I think?). Fish was perfect as was the wilted spinach. I was a good gal and skipped the potato. Although, a generous portion of chocolate slice for dessert canceled out "healthy" eating, perhaps. I did resist coffee though. Good food, service and location for (lunch) business meetings. It's on our list now. I'll try dinner next during their normal business hours.

In the effort to expand my palate for the overpriced "Buckhead Restaurant Row" Ocean Prime was a top contender for a nice Friday night evening meal. Our server was magnificent for a person that...well... was the only server in the bar area. He was busting his bum to try and deliver great service to everyone and succeeded for the most part. I order the scallops and risotto (from gluten free menu), friend ordered crab cakes and we decided to share truffle fries so we wouldn't gnaw are hands off before our entrees arrive. At the first bite we were both "ohhhhh-ing and ahhhh-ing". My scallops were seared to perfection; risotto was nice but not the best. And then this happened, in mid-sentence I almost regurgitated but I was able to control and took a sip of wine. Confused at what just happened I continued eating my food and enjoying present company. I felt queasy for sure so I did not finish my food nor did I eat desert, because of food allergies of course. On our way home I felt so sick- and vomited. That started the worst 3 days of stomach pain in my life. I vomited for over 24 hours straight. Finally Saturday night I decided to go to urgent care. In pain on my way to see the doctor I called Ocean Prime- livid that I was that sick from the food. I talked to the GM and told him that his seafood (or risotto) was not fresh at all. I'm convinced he wasn't really sure what to say or how to console so after a brief conversation he told me he would check on me Tuesday. Totally not expecting his call the GM did call back to check on me and asked me the diagnoses which was food poisoning from a food borne illness. He then proceeded to tell me that he would do some investigation {ummm excuse me sir that incident happened 4 days ago, I'm sure that is considered a lifetime in kitchen years, you're not going to find evidence at this point}. The most remorseful (not) thing he said to me was to call him when I am in the neighborhood, drinks on him. So in my head I was thinking this is not how it was supposed to go: no I am sorry for you upchucking your pricey meal for 24 hours straight, I'm sorry for your urgent care bill that really is our fault, or come try us again, dinner on us. Nothing, nada, zip. It literally took me 5 days to recover- for those who have ever had a terrible case of food poisoning that is something you will NEVER forget. Its one thing to have awful customer service at a fine dining restaurant, but food poisoning takes a bad dining experience to the next level (the top if you ask me). Beware, beware, beware even "seafood restaurants" don't have the freshest seafood. Try again Ocean Prime, try again.

Following my awful first experience, I was invited to return to Ocean Prime to give it another try. What a difference! My 2nd experience was nothing like the first visit. I arrived with my party of 6 on a Saturday night. The restaurant was busy and we waited a very short time for our table. Love the round table for 6. Our server, Clayton, was excellent. Attentive w/o being overbearing. We ordered cocktails and delish bottle of wine. Clayton gave us time to visit w/o rushing into our dinner order. This time, I had the caesar salad and requested anchovies. Doesn't usually come with anchovies for you lovers of these. Salad was crisp lettuce (some places serve wilty greens) and very good. For entree I had the appetizer short rib and scallops. The short ribs were awesome - tender and yummy. Two large scallops also good all over mashed potatoes. Just the right portion size for me. Others in my group had steak, fish, various salads and soup. Everyone enjoyed theirs. We had sides - asparagus, mushrooms and mac & cheese. Yummy!!!! Ocean Prime atmosphere is energetic but you are still able to have a conversation at your table w/o shouting. Very nice with a larger party especially. I will definitely go back this time even if I'm not invited.

Honestly not that impressed with this place, although i have only been once and maybe it just wasn't the best night. But for a "nice" dinner out I just think there are lots of better places. I did enjoy my food-- chilean sea bass and a caesar salad-- actually the sea bass was excellent-- but the atmosphere and service just didn't do it for me. The staff seemed pretty average for a place that is pricey; not to sound like a jerk but our waitress struggled to open the wine and pretty sure part of the cork went in it, and you could tell she wasn't totally comfortable pouring it. it was just not the type of service you'd expect/desire if you were going out for a special meal-- since this place is supposed to be great and is pretty $$$, I was just not impressed. although the food was good.....

I read a lot of good things about this restaurant so I decided to take my wife there for Valentine's Day....Great food, drinks, ambience, and service but I was very disappointed with the dress code. For an upscale restaurant the patrons looked like a cross between upscale and fast food. Almost more t-shirts/jeans than blazers/shirts w/ collars.

I took one of my oldest childhood friends here for her birthday dinner. I loved every minute of it and it wasn't even my birthday. She ordered the lobster bisque with the sweet corn fritter and I started off with the white truffle deviled eggs and 2 glasses of white wine. I felt like I died and went to heaven. Our server was great and catered to our every need. For my entree I ordered the Sea Scallops, Parmesan Risotto, English Peas, Citrus Vinaigrette and she ordered the Ginger Salmon, Sugar Snap Peas, Soy Butter Sauce. We split the truffle Mac and cheese. Everything was wonderful. For her birthday cake she had the baked Alaska with a candle. Pricey, yes both worth every penny and I will be back!

I had the pleasure of sampling the Ocean Prime offerings on 2 occasions this week - first for a sit down meal and second at the bar for a reception. So let me start with the less positive aspects...and I say "less positive" because it wasn't a bad experience and this may be more about me than the restaurant. Acknowledging that the restaurant is in Buckhead (along with all the pricey aspects of that location), I did think the prices were a touch on the high side. I have found comparable offerings at comparable Atlanta steakhouses that seemed a bit more reasonable on the cost side. Now these establishments are not in Buckhead, so again, you pay for location to a degree, but I just didn't feel like the location and atmosphere justified the slightly higher cost. I am probably nitpicky on this point but that is the impression I came away with after back-to-back visits. Now, cost aside, the food was well prepared. I asked for a filet medium rare and it came as requested and was quite tasty. My steak was preceded by a Cesar Salad and accompanied by the highlighted Jalapeño Au Gratin, Sliced Potatoes, Aged Swiss. The salad was good and the portion generous. I was intrigued by the prospect of the Jalapeño Au Gratin because I enjoy Au Gratin and thought the Jalapeño kick would offer a new twist on a classic dish. I was a bit disappointed. As an Au Gratin it was very tasty. Rich, creamy and well made, however, the Jalapeño aspect really added nothing to the dish. It was actually tough to discern the Jalapeños in the dish and I was expecting more of a spice punch. For dessert, I opted for the White Chocolate Key Lime Tart. Now my experience with steak houses desserts has been decidedly mixed but this was out of this world good. The presentation was playful and it was a perfect mixture of tart and sweet. I will warn you it is very rich and I did not finish it all but it wasn't from lack of interest. Finally, let me comment on the service. Once word: impeccable. The wait staff was smartly dressed and attentive without overbearing. They were also very astute with the bartender remembering my lone drink order from my first visit and offering it up to me as if I am regular for my second visit. Keep in mind; I had never been to Ocean Prime prior to this week. Their version of a tequila sunrise was exceptional. This will not knock off my preferred steak house of choice in Atlanta (see prior reviews) but I can see returning at some point in the future.

I like eating in the bar area. There is always someone playing piano and groups of people make for good ambiance. The food is also relatively decent. I've had better steak at Hals, Bones, and Chops however. Fish options are B to B+ rating.

SUAVE MEETS SEXY AT OCEAN PRIME Not many places can actually sweep you away into a world where fantasy becomes reality, especially a restaurant, but Cameron Mitchell has figured it out. This visionary and restaurateur brought his highly successful concept, Mitchell's Ocean Club, from Columbus, Ohio to the Atlanta in the form of Ocean Prime. As the name implies, it offers the absolute best from land and sea, and so much more. Besides the foods, there is a unique feeling or swagger that is immediately felt once you enter Ocean Prime's club-like world. The main attraction of this vibrant supper club is the action-packed, open-air kitchen that's headed up by Jason Shelley who cut his teeth back as a middle station cook at the Ocean Club a decade ago, and is now the executive chef here in Atlanta. Chef Shelley's talents to mystify the senses are extraordinary, sit back and let Ocean Prime's hospitality take over. No matter if the red carpet sensation guides you to the happening Blu Lounge with its pianist who beats out the standards or to the dining room, the starting point to an evening of ecstasy is the alluring cocktail list. The lively Cucumber Gimlet or the Pineapple Saffron martini are well-crafted concoctions that guarantee to excite the senses, but the drink that brings out the "wow" is the Berries & Bubbles. The cleverly constructed libation is made with Belvedere Citrus Vodka, marinated blackberries, Domaine Chandon Brut, and a zesty house made sour. But what makes this drink unique is the added chunks of dry ice that creates a visual spectacle to behold. After each sip a touch of sinfulness creeps larger into the smile- be careful as fun only a wink away. Besides these outlandish cocktails, Ocean Prime masterfully assembled an outstanding wine list and houses one of the best wine by the glass program in the city. The delicious Numanthia Termes with its fruity, floral aromas provides a velvety yet spicy mouth feel that elicits the desire for a finely prepared juicy steak. Exploring the menu at Ocean Prime is a challenge as there are so many appealing offerings that can easily get a drool going. To ease that sensation, the "smoking" colossal lump blue crab meat cocktail that's served with a sassy Crab Louie sauce is a perfect place to begin. In addition to the delectable treats from the raw bar, there is an abundance of stunning appetizers. The artistically prepared Ahi Tuna Tartar is otherworldly - a lush mound of finely chopped fish rests atop mashed avocado that's drizzled with a citrusy ginger ponzu sauce that has an enticing twang, totally yum. The "off the boat" fresh Point Judith Calamari are marinated in buttermilk, then flash fired, then tossed in a hoisin chili sauce giving these brilliantly prepared crispy rings a tantalizing flavor. Guaranteed to get the taste buds really excited is Ocean Prime's take on Surf 'n' Turf. Succulent slow braised beef short ribs are served in their own jus over a dab of creamy mashed potatoes that's paired with ultra-tender U-10 scallops that are flash seared enhancing their splendid sweet buttery flavors. Don't miss this dazzling duo, it's the ultimate tease as to what Ocean Prime is all about - tasty meats and stellar seafood. Whatever, don't forget about the treasures from the garden, especially the salads - Ocean Prime's house salad is a marvelous blend of diverse flavors and crispy textures that nicely readies the palate for the main offerings. From the Chef Compositions, order a fish selection with any of the well-marbled, prime grade steaks and share the scrumptious tastes of both to taste the best from "land and sea" with your evening's dining mate. The mouthwatering steaks are aged for over 3 weeks for maximum tenderness and flavor, addictively seasoned, then broiled at 1200 degrees to whatever temperature you desire. To amp up these juicy beef flavors consider either the classic Béarnaise or the Green Peppercorn sauces as an accompaniment as they compliment the char flavors of the steak oh so well. Of the fish either the mild tasting broiled Chilean Sea Bass with a rich champagne truffle sauce or the savory "salt 'n' pepper" tuna that's seared to perfection are can't miss choices, both are prepared exquisitely retaining their moist melt-in-your-mouth fresh flavors. When you can eat the best, why settle for less? To send the senses to a complete state of bliss, order the ten layer carrot cake, yes, ten thin layers of moist nirvana with a cream cheese icing in between each that's topped with a tangy pineapple sauce. This treat seems to have been made for a glass of Grand Marnier to sip on and settle into complete satisfaction. The best part of the Ocean Prime experience is that you get to take with you that special feeling of being suave and sexy, and whenever you want that feeling to be revived you know it can be found at Ocean Prime again and again.

Ocean Prime has a wonderful ambiance and is very aesthetically pleasing. The French Onion soup was quite good. I was also shocked by how delicious the POPCORN was that they provide. And the Parmesan Truffle French Fries were simply off the hook. But, sadly, the restaurant rated a 3 from me because the steak was just ok and dry. Customer service was also good but the wait staff should have asked me what I thought of the meal. I am not sure if I will give them another try with so many great steak places in Buckhead. In the end, I was disappointed and can't recommend them.

I don't have one damn thing to complain about with Ocean Prime. Dammit...I'd gotten so good at it! This place is fantastic and the "it" place to be if you are looking for an upper echelon dining experience. Yes, put on your fancy duds- you won't be out of place dressed to the 9's. Piano music at the bar. Check. Private rooms equipped with TVs to watch whatever and 4 servers to answer your beckoned call. Check. Wonderful cocktails. Check. Ambiance and decor...top notch. Sambucca who? You can't even tell Sambucca used to acquire the space. With typical steakhouse fare, everything is a la carte- but totally fantastic. Was there with a private party and everyone's meal was amazing looking and tasting! Not one complaint in the house. NOT ONE!!! And that was for a party of 20! Awesome. Our party ordered everything from the wedge salads, caesar salads, crabcakes, the 7 oz. filets w/ Oscar sauce, twin lobster tails, salmon w/ ginger, roasted chicken, truffle mac & cheese, garlic mashed...etc...etc...etc. We had the menu covered. The only thing we didn't order was dessert. We brought in a custom cake. Truly fantastic...I will be back really soon. P.S. Valet is only $2! I was so damn pleased when I left that I handed the dude $5 for him to keep the extra three bucks. Not a lot of money but it says something when the tip is more than the actual cost.

This is more of a 3.5 star. I visited the restaurant because of Buckhead Restaurant week. The line for the valet parking (only option) was overflowing to the actual road. We waited 5 minutes to get our car parked. Our waiter was very very nice and easy to talk to. He was very caring and attentive, very very good service! The complimentary bread was the warmest bread I've ever received from a restaurant. The butter melted nicely on it. I got the Teriyaki Salmon and my friend got the Filet mignon. The steak was ok, nothing special, but the mashed potatoes was very creamy. I was not a fan of the Teriyaki Salmon. It sauce tasted burnt to me and I did not like the flavor of the sauce, thus I did not enjoy my meal. The carrot cake was very moist. It is not your typical cream cheese icing, but more of a whipped cream icing so it was less sweet. It comes with a pineapple syrup that makes up for the lack of sweetness in the icing. There was also quite a wait to retrieve the car. Overall the food was okay, but the decor and service was superb. I would definitely come back again. Great place for a date!

Sorry Ocean Prime, but we are not fans. With all the steak houses in Buckhead, and fine dining restaurants in Atlanta, this place gets lost in the mix. What DOES stand out, however, is the pricing. $8 for a baked potato. $10 for a standard iceberg wedge. $29 for Salmon. Veuve for $23 per glass. Ok I'm done. And will go somewhere different in the future.

If you are going to have drinks and enjoy great decor then this is your place. The wife and I are in from Texas so we may be a little tough on steaks but the filet was just ok & I would avoid the shrimp/spinach pasta. It was supposed to be spicy but turned out to be all chili powder blah! I will give them credit on one item and that is their crab cakes which were really tasty.

I went on Valentine's day. My date and I enjoyed both the atmosphere and cuisine. The service was a bit slow, but I've chalked it up due to the holiday. Im craving the black truffle Mac & cheese as I type this.

Overall, a good experience. Loved the decor, the bar scene, and general feel. Lots of successful buckhead types in the bar and dining room. You can dress to the nines and not feel out of place. General thoughts: -Valet needs to get it together. This isn't the valet guys' fault, as they run like crazy, there just aren't enough of them. They are super nice and friendly. I started off on a bad note since I was sitting on Piedmont for a few minutes waiting to just turn in and get in the valet line. -Bartenders - great. Very attentive, one of the best slightly dirty goose martinis I've had. And blue cheese olives! -Table wasn't ready at 8:25 even though rez was for 8. Wasn't a biggie that night for us, but not ideal for some. -Service was just ok. Our waiter didn't seem to have a ton of personality, and he seemed extremely busy. When we were done eating we waited awhile and had to ask someone to track him down to get our check. -Tuna tartar was the best thing I ate all night. Just amazing. Very flavorful and loved the crunch aspect. Yum!!! -I had the tilapia with crab, and my friend had the scallops. The fish was amazing and high quality, but TOO much sauce. Both were sitting in pools of butter type sauces. I feel like restaurants that don't serve high quality meats need to do this, but OP doesn't. I found myself trying to scrape the sauce off. -Au gratin swiss cheese potatos were heavenly. I think I could make a meal out of those and the tuna. -Brussel sprouts were a fail. They were in a sweet, syrupy sauce and soooo much salt. I couldn't even eat them they were so salty. -The chef sent out a huge piece of chocolate cake after we had passed on dessert, which was a super sweet touch. We each had a few bites and it was divine. So, my review is a bit mixed. I think they have a few little kinks to work out, but I would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion of business dinner. And I will be back.

Well another steak house.. The ambiance and decor was brighter then the old school steak houses, but the price is a bit high and you don't get a lot of steak choices for a steak house. The staff need to relax they are so stiff. We ordered a the NY and Kansas City strip steaks... both came with a butter sauce that was over kill. for dessert I ordered the $40 glass of dessert wine and the could not find it for 8 minutes... I won't go back... but who am I to judge... I'm just another yelper that ....?

First impressions often color your evening. I made a reservation several days ahead, but was kept waiting about 10 minutes, when I could clearly see open tables. The table they showed us to, "in a room they just opened" was actually the patio with heaters. Our table was a few feet from Piedmont, and it was loud due to traffic. We asked to be moved, which took 10 more minutes. The decor is lovely in a fancy supper club vibe. There was an abundance of staff. The server really pushed the most expensive entrees. When we did order, she delivered our plates to the wrong people. She was unfamiliar with the wine list, but verified our selection by asking us to point to it. The entrees were good, but nothing above average. No special touches or seasoning. Everyone in our party had fish. This is not a foodie place. This is a place that you go if you want to impress someone and spend a lot of money. The dessert was average and lacked imagination. It was small for $9. Overall...an expense account place for people who are not adventurous diners.

From the moment you pull up to the complimentary valet station, the service is 5 star all the way! As soon as I pulled up the valet opened my door. I stepped out onto their fabulous patio where I was greeted warmly by two greeters who led me into the host station. The hosts were extremely friendly. On my reservations I failed to mention that I wanted booth seating, this was NOT a problem for the host. She quickly found an available booth and seated me and my guest. I was offered Fiji Water or Pellegrino as soon as I was seated. The waiter explained the entire menu to me and answered all the questions I had about the steaks. I ordered the Ribeye, Glazed Carrots and Twice Baked Potato. Let me just say that their sides are intended to be shared; the portions are huge. They bring the sides out in a serving dish with a large spoon. The steak that I ordered was tender, mouth watering and required no extra sauce! This was one of the best dining experiences I have had in Atlanta. The staff was absolutely amazing, the decor and design of the restaurant is gorgeous and the food is fabulous. I will definitely be going back!!

A DINING EXPERIENCE that went from FIRST TO WORST, Unexpectedly We went to Ocean Prime for the first time last night because we've been wanting to try it. What a glorious place! Step out of the car and become entranced by this haven of elegant, unique and totally fascinating arcitectual design and mesmerizing lighting. Lots of cozy places to sit while being totally connected to the action. Great energy. It is Buckhead Restaurant Week and we both chose the same items from the $35 Prix fixe menu- Onion Soup/Brandy/Aged Swiss, Ginger Salmon/Sugar Snap Peas/Soy Butter Sauce, and Carrot Cake/Cream Cheese Icing/Pinapple Glaze. Our server was sweet, calm and slightly exhausing as she read from memory the menu, section by section, item by item,as we followed along. It was 3rd grade again. I wanted to raise my hand and tell her that we already knew what we wanted, but I didn't want to have to fight to get a word in. I wanted to relax...to enjoy, not sit in on a dreaded, required lecture. English 101comes to mind. So, where is my martini? Why is this other guy walking over and standing in line slightly behind and beside her so that he can start telling his story and asking questions? Why is this little, industrious dude suddenly buzzing around me, reaching across my neck and so that I could practically kiss his inner elbow as he cleared the other two place settings since there would only be two of us. Why did she prolong the torture by pausing the speech until he finished? Where is my martini? I'll get to the points: 1) French Onion Soup was the BEST we've ever had anywhere and in a huge bowl. 2) The rare and medium-rare salmon came out well-done and beyond well-done, respectively. It was topped with dry, dry crumbs on top- hard to cut, chew or tolerate. Dry mouth while lost in the desert with only a pack of pretzels comes to mind. 3) We did not send them back in order to avoid igniting more speeches, lengthy apologies, and constant interruptions to our attempts at conversation with, "Pardon my interruption. Is everything now to your liking?", "Pardon my interruption. How is the temperature of your salmon now?" Pardon my interruption. Have you finished?" 4) Unfortunately, the number of "Pardon my interruption" visits were constant anyway. "May I clear the bread?", while I am tearing a piece from the loaf. Excuse me, (as I am standing up to go to the bathroom), while a different man blocks me while I'm half-way standing and reaches in front of me and across my chest to clear the empty plate while he asks, "Are you finished?". Does he think I'm a terrior and intend to lick my plate? Yes, I am finished, I thought, ---with Ocean Prime.

Music sounded like a bad karaoke bar. I had the house salad for 10 bucks it was freaking iceberg lettuce....most of it was brown and the end pieces....no taste. I got a 35$ steak and it was sub par. I got blue cheese topping and it was barely melted. I shared french fries and the weren't even hot when brought out. Overpriced and not worth it!

After several weeks, this location is still working out the kinks. After being promptly seated and cocktail orders were placed, 20 minutes later our drinks arrived. Dinner orders were placed and problems started . Appetizers were forgotten and came during the entree placement. Two of four seafood dinners were woefully undercooked and were sent back to the kitchen which created a challenge for the remaining dinner party. I never mind paying top shelf prices for top shelf products. Not the case this evening. Food and service were uneven on this night. Hopefully this location will become a premium consistent restaurant that Atlanta diners can depend on for an enjoyable dining experience in the near future.

Drove in from South Carolina and stepped out of our comfort zone to try a new restaurant. .Excellent service and amazing food. 3 of us had tuna tartare as appetizer. A worthy choice. Salmon, sea bass ,snapper were excellent choices as well. Oh, and did I mention that Denzel Washington was dining there too. A memorable evening.

Let's start by saying this is a big ticket dinning experience With that said, as such things go, it was a great meal. The ambiance was excellent, the wine list was well balanced and gave several good options that were less then $75 a bottle. The menu consisted of a standard selection of of seafood and steaks supplemented with chef's specialties that were unique and flavorful. What really set the tone though was the service. It was excellent. Attentive with out hovering with just the right amount of flare. While it won't be a weekly spot, it has made the list for special occasions.

  • I had a big first date lined up with a girl I liked and I was feeling pretty nervous. She was in the mood for steak, so I took her to Ocean Prime. Their menu was incredible and we both food that suited us perfectly. The date was a complete success and I will definitely visit again.

We attended ocean prime last Friday with two other friends. The food and ambiance was good but everything else was sub par. The Host staff was horrible! We made reservation for 8:45pm we got there at 8:00 to have drinks at the bar. We didn't check in as soon as we got there bc we were so early, then at about 8:30 we checked in (15 min before our reservation). They then proceeded to say bc we hadn't checked in as soon as we got there we would have to wait. By 9 we still weren't sat then 9:15 came still not sat when we asked what was going on all we got was attitude. We waited even longer then finally were sat by a very disgruntled staff member who said nothing to us. Once sat the service was extremely slow. It took about an hour and a half to get our food. The food was good but much like every other steakhouse. Would rather go somewhere else and get better service. The attitude of everyone there was very snotty. Chops, Bones & Hal's are much more enjoyable in my opinion.

I've been twice. Once for dinner and once for apps in the bar. This is a chain and I was with a friend from Tampa who says it is the best restaurant there. Differenct from most of the high-end steak/fish houses in ATL. Very bright, California-Vegas vibe going on. It has a great square bar, perfect for moving around with some high boy tables surrounding that keep you in the action and also some discreet sofas and seating areas. Piano player and singer keeps the mood up. Best cocktail I have ever had with pear vodka and grapefruit soda. Yum. Food is good too. Calimari has an asian flair, crab cake, just okay. Steaks were good, I thought the lobster was overcooked. Giant stuffed potato that was a scene stealer and fantastic dessert, chocolate peanut butter. All good but hold on to your wallet. Its VERY expensive. Should be a good additional to the buckhead scene. I would imagine this place will keep the bar at Bistro Niko quiet for a while.
