Knowledgeable and personable bar service, steered me towards two solid draft choices, refreshingly capable. Menu looks appropriate. Strike-smoky as hell in here but I do appreciate they have smoke free areas for eating. Surprise-dedicated tv screen for Beer Advocate ratings w beer descriptions. Strong beer selection, esp local offerings.

One of my favorite local bars. I give it four stars mainly because of the atmosphere and service. Servers are usually friendly and there is always something to do whether it be poker, trivia, or watching a band. I like how it is setup to where if you don't want to watch the band and just want to hang with friends you can find a place were it is not too noisy. I don't drink so I can't really comment on there drinks but they seem to have a large selection of beer. Another plus is that I can always get a coffee if I'm there later in the evening and believe it or not that can be a hard thing to find at most bars. The only reason I didn't give them give stars is because the food is just so so. For bar food it's pretty decent but it's just still bar food.

Great beer selection, pretty good beer prices. Great food selection and typical bar food prices. It was right down the street so I visited it a lot. At the bar I received consistently good service. Sitting in a booth or on the patio, I never had that luck. The wait staff was always extremely nice, but they took a long while to get drinks and check up on us (I typically tip based on how long my main drink stays empty) The food was amazingly inconsistent. My friend and I went for lunch one day and tried the wings, both batches were dry and the flavor from the chicken and the sauce were entirely separate. The first time I had the triple bypass it was fantastic, I had it a few more times without issue, and then I received an impressively well done version of it which I'm not sure how they let leave the kitchen. Lots of weird little things. I had the best luck with the grilled chicken sandwich (and dixie chicken) and the tater tots/mozzarella sticks never were messed up. That said, if you need a place to stop in and watch a football game on saturday or sunday, hop on in. Don't expect to be wildly impressed. Expect to go watch a game and eat mediocre bar food and you'll have few complaints. Stars are lost entirely for the inconsistency of the food and slow service I've had while sitting anywhere but the bar.

Great selection of beer 68 on tap and many more in the bottle. They even have a seller with aged beer. One of my local favorites! The food is only average.

Driven past too many times. Finally pulled in to enjoy a beautiful day on the patio ... AMAZING!!! Wings are hearty, "wet" and cooked to perfection! The standard wing "specialist" around do not do wings this well. Krinkle Fries ... do I need to say more?! Awesome krinkle fries. The breakfast burrito and grits were also a hit at our table. The portions are fantastic. Beer Shakes are a must. Don't judge. You have to try one! Service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Carmen was awesome. We will be back ... heck, I predict we will become regulars.

North River Tavern is a place where you can get some decent bar food and pretty good drinks. I have seen all types and ages of patrons here including families with children. I've had various items from the menu and all were okay, not fantastic, but good. Service has always been pretty good as well. They have plenty of parking, a good sized bar, and a patio area. I'm not crazy about the smell that smacks you when you enter though. Kinda like old cigarette smoke and just old. This place will do if you want to grab a drink and get yourself a bite to eat.

Inexpensive, but food was unimpressive. Service was friendly and fast. Will not be going back. Not bad, just not for me.

I've been going here for years and like how they are constantly updating the establishment. Good drink selection and a fun atmosphere with the usual bar food.

Awesome place! One of my favorite bars in the area. Very happy my job is only 5 minutes away. Always a great time!! :)

It gets an A-OK. I do like the fact that they have both smoking and nonsmoking areas. I'm a nonsmoker nowadays but still like to get a good whiff of tar every now and then. The food is okay. Perhaps a little less than you'd expect from bar food, but generally okay. Wings are excellent. When perusing the menu, I'd advise to stick to simple things. I've found that the more complex the dish sounds, the worse of a job their kitchen staff does in executing it. So if the special is Duck Confit with grilled Asparagus, I'd get the wings or a grilled cheese. The staff is... lackluster at best. There are a few good staff members. If you find one and intend on going to this place on a quasi regular basis, find your good staff member and stick with them. Some of them can just be rude and atrocious. Lots of turn over at this establishment. Awesome beer menu, trivia is fun, and they sell growlers. Definitely keep it in my repertoire.

Not bad. service is SOMETIMES great ... depends on what waiters you get & the time/date , BUT the wings make the magic happen! I love these chicken wings more than any other wing place around the Sandy Springs area.

My neighborhood favorite. Love the food here. Years ago this was a taco mac so NRT still has a hundred taps of various beer for your likings. Staff is good. Place can get a little smokey but all in all a good place to eat and drink.

I cant believe i got the wrong date for the table hockey thing! man i was looking forward to that. this place is still pretty cool though, lots of good beer, food and things to do. I wonder if they still have acoustic Thursdays like they did a million years ago?

Had fun for the office Christmas party here great band as well great drinks, food was awesome compared to a lot of the bar I've been to. Definitely will be returning soon to

Despite not having wheat buns or sweet potato fries, which would have changed my order to a burger and fries, the chicken quesadilla was fantastic, likely the best I've had in Atlanta. The atmosphere is ok, smoking and non smoking sections but still a bit of smoke smell in the "family" area. The bathroom is in the smoking area. Waitress was a bit slow, but the food came quickly. After that she disappeared. Seems like a nice bar area too. I will be back to try more of the menu.

This place is right near my house, and they always have something going on. I went the other night and got a burger with fries. Pretty standard - a 12 oz. beer was $7 so I was little taken back when I got the check. Seems a little high for a casual bar setting with a wide beer selection. I would suggest going on a night where there are specials or a band playing. There was trivia while I was there, so the service wasn't great. If you live within ten miles they will take you and your car home for free, so that's pretty cool. 3 stars.

I tried going here on a weekend and was barely able to get in the door! I've been twice so far (on weeknights) and am definitely a fan. It can get crowded and parking is kind of a pain, but for the food quality and affordability it doesn't really matter. The restaurant is divided into smoking and non-smoking sections. There are arcade games, two pool tables in the back ($1.25 in quarters/game), some sort of virtual golf game, and TONS of TV's (just from my table I could see 15). The service is prompt and friendly. Crowd is mixed between college aged frat boys and baby boomer bar flies. The atmosphere is that of a stereotypical bar- loud, energetic and smoky. They have events such as trivia night and Bingo. Typical bar menu with a separate BBQ menu and lots of southwestern style options (nachos, tacos, etc.) I've ordered: Jalapeno Poppers- solid, cheap. Taquitos- Chicken, melted cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and sour cream- also decent and affordable. Boneless Buffalo wings- super cheap, just OK. The sauce is good but the meat was mostly breading. Burgers- VERY good. Cooked perfectly, lots of burger options. I also love the krinkle cut fries. Go on Thursday's for $5 Burgers! I went on a Thursday and they also had $5 Sweetwater and Terrapin in 22 ounces- HUGE! Not sure if this is every Thursday, but it was a great deal!!

I've been going to NRT for years now to watch sports, and what it lacks in food, it makes up for in people. There are all sorts of different folks that go to NRT. . .from townies to young kids to mid-career folks like myself. And everyone seems to get along for the most part. It can get crowded on Saturdays and Sundays during football season, and certain areas are blocked off for the fan groups. So if you're looking for a casual quiet bar on the weekends in the fall, this is not the place for you. (Then again, no self-respecting sports bar would be for you). The food is not fantastic, but it is consistently good. I love that they have tater tots on the menu, which not every sports bar has. The beer selection is pretty decent, though they run out of popular brews quite quickly (e.g., Sam Adams Oktoberfest is gone by mid-September). However, management is good about catering to their regular, and to new people alike. NRT has been my home away from home for many years, and I'll be a loyal customer for many more.

I have been here a few times and it was more like meh. Standard bar fare but I found it to be on the greasy side. Drinks were a little higher priced than other places in the neighborhood.

Lots of references to Taco Mac as a comparison to the North River Tavern. Perhaps in a parallel, opposite universe where the above average cleanliness; food and service of a Taco Mac is replaced with this. The building and atmosphere is authentically grungy - not part of some dive bar shtick. Who knew the fabric rip in the universe folks are looking for is right here in good old Roswell.

  • Mark M.

I like this joint. Good sized portions for food, decent service, spacious, good for smokers and non-smokers, they have UFC fights here and good selection of adult beverages. The bar area can be smokey if that is your thing. I usually get the wings and they are really good.

I have been occasionally patronizing this spot for a long time through all the name / ownership changes and it has changed very little over the last several years. It used to be a Taco Mac and then, for a time I think it was a Summitt's Tavern. I think it might have been a Ryan's, Quincy's or Western sizzlin' a long time ago before i moved into the area. On the good side it is always busy with a good mix of friendly folks at or near the bar. It has always been of the better area bars in the North Sandy Springs / North Dunwoody / Old Roswell / East Cobb area for the Post College / Twenty-Somethings crowd - especially on the weekends. The bartenders and servers are attractive and nice. The food is above average and the drink prices are good. The bands that play are usually pretty solid. The bad part is that it is always very smoky and noisy. I recently stopped in on my way home from work and had the Turkey Club with fries and a 22 ounce Yuengling. The sandwich was very good and the beer as well. With tax and tip the bill came to about 15 bucks and change. I was a little bummed that they didn't give me Tobasco / hot sauce along with the ketchup. But the super hot brunette bartender made up for that deficiency. Perhaps NRT really deserves three point five stars rather than the four I am giving it now.

Honestly, one of the best bars in the area. Wide selection of drinks, and a friendly wait staff. Food is great (for a bar), and there's always something to do, whether it's trivia, poker, live music, pool, or even Golden Tee (3 machines!). Great place, I visit regularly.

I went here to play trivia with a friend. Trivia was good. Food was just ok. Service was slow. There was also a fly hovering around and I don't really like seeing flies around.

Was in town visiting some friends who are just as obsessive as me when it comes to sports. Since they are all originally from New England (and therefore their allegiances are my rivals), we knew we needed a bar with a lot of TVs and all sports packages. As a result, we went to NRT, where my friends are regulars. The beer selection is not the greatest I've ever seen, but it certainly isn't bad. It caters to both the mainstream and craft beer drinkers, and all the drafts are available in regular and tall sizes. Their menu consists of standard bar food. I went with chicken fajita nachos, which came with peppers, onions, queso, and grilled chicken. It was nice to have a different twist on standard nachos, which they also have. The portion size was huge; I picked at them for quite awhile and it didn't look like I'd put a dent in them at all. The staff is nice, and service is quick (like I said, though, my friends are there all the time, so that may have had something to do with it as well). Elise, the manager, is super friendly and very cool to talk to. The bar has a Boston sports slant (note the framed pics), but no one (except my friends) gave me any shit for wanting to watch my Yankees and Rangers. +1 for having NHL Center Ice, because, as we all know, hockey is just not that big in the ATL. I only wish this was closer to where my friend lives, although it seems as though you have to drive everywhere in the area anyway.

Good and steady! I've been going here for years. I have teenage boys and they love it. It is good solid bar food, nothing more, nothing less. Wings, nachos, burgs, you name it. The boy are partial to the nachos, which are giant! Maybe that's why they're call the Nacho Mountain? :) A few video games and pool tables are also available. And the deck is a great place to sit outside during the summer! Service is always friendly, even if occasionally slow. This place is what it is, but I'm fine with that.

This past Wednesday, two of my good friends from work and I decided to go a little further north than normal for our semi-regular happy hour adventure. This is where we ended up, and it definitely fit the bill. This place is really casual, but I didn't feel out of place wearing a suit. Their beer selection is surprisingly good, and they had a lot of the newer, less common local stuff on draught (Red Hare, Monday Night...). I wasn't expecting that, so it was very refreshing. Since I had to work late, traffic was a nightmare, and I thus arrived somewhat late, I decided to go ahead and eat dinner. I had a chicken sandwich with some fries, which was all passable but nothing special. They had trivia going on that night, which could have been fun, but we decided not to stay for the whole thing. The place is big, there seemed to be a lot of regulars, and I think it's just a cozy place to get a drink in the evening. I may not be back, given the distance from my work and home, but I definitely think it's a great option for someone closer.

My first stop in here had me thinking about coming back. I sat at the bar and there was a name tag on the bar but the name has been scratched off so I decided it was ok to sit there. Food is ok nice beer selection. Seating for one - hey it's a tavern so plenty of seats at the bar. Patriots fans this is your spot for games.

The menu is full of bar food, but I found the specials in the middle. The spinach roasted tomato salad with homemade lemon vinagarette dressing was much better than I expected. The patio is nice place to be on a cooler night! Servers are friendly.

I heard this used to be a Taco Mac and you can really see the resemblances to it. The interior has gotten a bit grimy, but it was decently full the night I came so I'm guessing this ol' place had some charm left in it. the beer selection is alright and the staff was attentive. My always hungry girlfriend ordered the fried pickle spears. I usually discourage her from such brave acts unless I know some more, but sadly I did not catch her in time. I've had fried pickle chips, but never the whole friggin spear so I was a little bit taken aback. To my surprise though, they were quite good. I dig pickles anyway so I'm a bit biased. The negative was this loud ass group of people next to us. I seriously felt my ears bleed from all their shrieking. It's not the bar's fault for rude and annoying people so I can't really take marks off for that. We sucked it up and moved to their coin operated pool tables. I did dig the atmosphere of the place though. Everyone was chill and relaxed and it didn't have the sometimes douchey feel of other ITP bars. Liked it...didn't love it....might go back for fried pickles though....nom nom nom

This is a very cool and spacious bar/restaurant. A very friendly staff and good atmosphere all around including great beer specials. It seems like they have live music in there all time, but it's all really great bands. Lots of fun. I'll be back again and again.

Good bar food like their chicken wings, burgers, and have specials, had the bbq pork Mac N Cheese. Has lots of TVs and poker three nights a week. Service is pretty good too!

Damnit it is everything it should be. Spacious with dark interiors, the NRT offers lots of choices- smoking or non, indoors or out, pick a beer from hundreds, and a huge menu that covers the whole bar food scene. They do the sports bar thing, have trivia, live music, arcade machines and entertaining people, My first visit, the guy next to me at the bar started a ruckus because they wouldn't serve him cause he had stiffed them on a check! I love shit like that!!!!!!! You can always get a great burger at NRT. I like the fried clams, and the wings as well. Laid back with kids for servers, the NRT has lots of regulars and one of the best patio's around. Get there early and enjoy watching the traffic on Roswell Rd while you sip a cool one.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Neg- It felt kinda grimy inside (and looked and smelled that way too).. I don't know if that's the look they're going for. That with the old school arcade games and the loud hair band music.. this is what i would call a SUPER dive bar. Neg- I also felt a little wierd and creeper here because all the other tables were 40s to 50s year old business men who work in some of the office buildings in the area.. that kept checking out the young, high school age, booty short sportin and "mostly" cute waitresses. Pos- On the plus side, great service and awesome food. I would say this is above average bar food and my cheeseburger and fries were PHENOM. Have not had such a good burger in a longgg time. Pos- This place is dark, hazy, smoky, and HUGE. I feel like it would be a good time at night.. very late at night. It has a huge back bar area, a nice patio area. All in all I would say I'm a fan, but minus one star for all the flies. I had to make sure I was constantly moving at all times so that no flies landed on me or my food.. and I was sitting indoors..................

Formerly a Taco Mac, but don't hold it against them. North River Tavern is just as good as any other sports bar where you can eat some wings, drink some beer, and watch some sports on a big ole fancy big screen TV with one of them LCD things built inside to make the picture extra pretty. They allow smoking in the restaurant, but only on the side closest to the high rise tables, dart boards, video games and pool tables. Inside is mostly comprised of the huge bar, that stretches out about half the width of the restaurant on the back wall. The patio area is probably my favorite part of North River Tavern mainly because it contains another bar where you can order some tasty beverages from a bartender who five feet away. You probably would not even have to get out of your seat. Also has two big screens and lots of mini televisions that are sure to be playing your game. The area also has a heater that is usually kicking out some serious warmth for those who prefer to drink outside in the winter. It was 38 degrees outside on the night I went to watch the Dallas vs. Green Bay game, but it felt like spring on the patio. Waitresses were dolls. All of them very pretty and very good at what they do. When I switched my table from inside to outside, my waitress brought me my beer and my coat, which made me feel like an important customer who is a big spender......little did she know I am a poor college kid; however, I made sure to tip her 30% for the gesture. I know they have trivia on Thursdays, and some other special nights with live music and drink specials.

North River is a pretty good bar for trivia. They seem to be very proud of their new Bar-B-Q plate, which is admittedly pretty decent. They sometimes have bands in the bar and they always have pretty much every sports game that's on for the day displayed on one of their 200 TV's. The other food tastes like bar food... their alcohol prices are moderate - they aren't cheap, but on Tuesday there's a special where you can get a free glass if you purchase the "beer of the night," which is pretty cool. Unfortunately, they don't list the beer prices on the menu, which is incredibly annoying; but I guess there is some kind of strategy to this (I assume it is supposed to make people buy more beer). The servers are friendly and the kitchen staff has come out to make sure one of their new dishes tastes good, which I respected. Parking is easy - plenty of spots. Outside of that, it's a pretty standard tavern. If I lived closer, I would go there more often. Fortunately, I live far away from the suburbs. Edit: Corrected review to reflect proper free glass day (Tuesday)!

While I was visiting Hotlanta last month, I went to NRT three times. The first time was for trivia night. We're not just pretty faces, we have brains too and we came in third so they gave us a $40 giftcard. Why did that suck? Because you couldn't use it until the next day. Smart on their part since we went back a few days later to use it. A few days after that, I went for lunch & a few games of pool with my east coast love muffin. Plus, I've been there a few times during previous visits. Here is my list of separate food reviews: Chili Con Queso: chili con queso translates to "Chili with cheese". Was there chili? No, thank God since I don't eat red meat but it was just melted cheese. Not that melted cheese is bad, it was tasty. Beer Battered Mushrooms: the mushrooms were relatively small but they weren't greasy nor soggy. Thumbs up in my book. Cream Cheese Crab Bites: delish...nuff said. Fried Pickles: eh. Not a fan of fried pickle spears. They could take a hint from Hooters & fry pickle chips. I'll never get them again. Wings: hot diggity damn! One of the best trough of wings I've had...ever. Grilled Chicken Wrap: my friend AJ got this and couldn't get past the first bite. She said it was awful. Skip it. Veggie Burger: was like a chihuahua mating with a great dane. Liiiitle tiny burger....huuuuge bun. It didn't taste bad once I ripped off 1/2 of the bun to reveal the burger. Shrimp & Clam Basket: not bad NRT, not bad. The clams were miniscule but I'm from Cali, can't expect outstanding seafood in GA. Fish Tacos: definitely skip these. I can say that because we have unbelievable fish tacos here. Get them if you've never had a proper fish taco in your life. Nachos: who can really screw up nachos? Not NRT. Their mountainous version of this bar-fare was enough for 3 people. The staff was friendly & attentive, so attentive that my love muffin thought the bartender was flirting with him and calling him sweetie. That got squashed when she called me honey and love. There are some regulars that tend to sit at the sticky-out end of the bar that creep me the hell out but that's not NRT's fault. It will always freak me out to see people smoking in a bar since we have cities where smoking is prohibited but it's nice to have a ciggie while sippin' cocktails. I like this place, I just wish it wasn't so far from everything.

Food was good, service was terrible. Asked for a refill three times with my empty cup on the edge of the table, never got it. Was forced to have 18% tip due to coupon, would've done 10%. There was a birthday party which might've lead to service issues, but won't likely return.

We had to come back to the scene of the crime so that my friend who had endured El Guapo challenge could check out the real wings. I'd been very tempted to come back since Thursdays all the burgers are $5. Unfortunately I didn't come on a Thursday. The atmosphere was fun, watched a bunch of groups playing Texas Hold 'Em. The burger was just so so. I figured how could they go wrong with a fried egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce tomato and garlic mayo. It tasted a little bit like a breakfast sandwich but then once the yolk was running all over everything it just tasted blah. It would be worth it on a Thursday though.

A lot like Taco Mac... Heck it was a Taco Mac. The place is split up into parts, extensions, and haphazardly constructed... That adds character in my opinion. They have all sorts of events and I have never been unhappy with the food.

I've been going here since the day it opened as Taco Mac, where there was only one pool table, and the bathroom was in the front. I have to say of all bars, this is the one I'd call home. I'm not sure if any of the original staff still work there, and for those of you who question how long I've been going to this place, anyone remember Lala? Now, being a bit older, I don't frequent bars as much, and prefer fine dining, but this place is still a good choice in my book. They have a much better menu selection than when they were Taco Mac, and in my opinion, the quality of food went up significantly. There are more flavors of wings, which are incredible, the nachos are mountainous, and I even have a thing for the Blackened Salmon Salad. Aside from the food, the staff is friendly and on top of things, and the bartenders who serve me are always on top of their game, friendly, and chatty (the way bartenders should be). It's a comfortable bar to hang out in, not a pickup spot where everyone is either edgy or creepy. I'll go to this place just to hang out or to meet friends, and I enjoy it either way. There is always someone I recognize, if not from people I've met, at least from the staff that has been there forever. Cheers (get it?).

Good neighborhood bar with a pretty good atmosphere. Not too smoky and usually not too loud. I'd like to review the food here more, but honestly every single time I've gone I haven't been able to resist ordering the Triple Bypass Burger. It's food that makes my stomach extremely happy, though my heart and arteries are probably none to happy about how much I enjoy a burger topped with bacon and a fried egg. The beer selection is amazing, and the prices are fairly reasonable. Plus, I enjoy a place that offers you a proper glass of beer (read: a very large one).

North River Tavern is a solid neighborhood bar. It's dark and smoky and they serve up grease. Pool tables, darts, the usual. The waitresses are pretty good and you don't usually have to wait too long at the bar. The crowd is mostly the 20-something, post-college, lives at home or at least can't afford to live intown type. No offense intended, I was part of that crowd for a good year. My only complaint is sometimes the live music is too loud, which can be annoying if a) you weren't going there to see a band or b) they are doing live band karaoke But if that's the case, you can always check out the back room or the patio.

As most folks have mentioned, NRT is a former Taco Mac. What they haven't said, however, is that before the NRT was a Taco Mac, it was an honest-to-goodness Steak & Ale Restaurant. No lie. Hence the faux "Old World" styling and the big pseudo-Tudor windows and so on. This kind of throwback kitsch will always win a few points with me. Since NRT used to be a Taco Mac, they still maintain a small fleet of beers on tap. These beers come and go with the seasons, and while NRT doesn't make as much of a grand affair of these changing beers, you can usually count on finding one or two new entries every couple of weeks. Beyond this fluidity of inventory, the NRT always manages to keep some of my favorites ever on-tap, like Left Hand Milk Stout and at least one of the various varieties from Dogfish Head. The food is not as good as the beer. For this reason, NRT is best as an after-event locale, rather than a place to arrive and dine. For those times when appetizers are the most you're expecting, the standard fare of chips and salsa here works outs just fine. This is not to say that a burger is going to disappoint you completely, just that said burger is going to be simply a burger, nothing less and nothing more. Something to keep in mind is the way that NRT is arranged. You're going to want to stick to the right-hand side of the restaurant relative to the doorway. That dining area has the biggest, best booths of the lot. But really, when the weather allows, your best bet is to go outside to the sizable patio.

North River Tavern is basically Taco Mac with a different name. Most Yelpers like to bash Taco Mac, but I like them, so by extension I like North River Tavern. The food is the same, and they have a lot of things going on besides just watching sports on TV, such as poker and trivia nights and sometimes live music. I agree the location is pretty horrible, not close to much unless you live on the south end of Roswell, but if you need to come up there for something, its an easy ride from the 400/Northridge exit, or Holcomb Bridge, if you know the shortcut down Riverside.

It is great for what it is. They got about about 40 beers on draft. They have 5 dollar burgers every Thursday all day. They have a Monday and Wednesday night poker game at 8. On Thursday they have bingo at 10, and trivia on Tuesday, weds, Thursday, and Sunday @ 8 if that's your thing. It is one of the last bars you can still smoke in the area, so that is always a plus. I'm not a smoker but I enjoy getting my second hand on. They also have plenty of tvs around to catch all of your favorite sporting events or ufc fight. My wife and I stopped by at 3:00p.m. for a late lunch. We ordered a tacos salad with grilled chx and a 20 piece hot wing. The salad was ok, we got it with salsa as the dressing. The chic was a little dry maybe canned. It was served in a crispy fried tortilla bowl. The wings were fatties, nice and plump and fried to perfection. Served with your choice of fries or celery, and blue cheese or ranch. My only complaint on the wings would have to be the sauce wasn't evenly coated over the wings. There was dry spots which.was wierd because there was a pool of sauce in Tue bottom of the basket. But this is a quick fix with a nice good toss in the bowl. The price was reasonable, 16.95 for the wing and 8.95 for the salad.

The Food was good and the waitress was friendly, but the place smelled & looked like a old musty house. I'll do take out or sit on the patio but never inside...

This bar was formerly called Taco Mac, and I'm not sure which name suits it more. It's a bar in the classic sense -- pool, darts, wood paneled decor, and the folks drinking Pabst aren't doing it to be ironic -- and yet they also have a very good selection of microbrews (with a particularly nice representation of Rogue brewery), for probably 100 beers in all. The bartenders need to learn the "bartender nod" -- that classic gesture of "I'm busy, but yes, I see you there and I'll be over in a minute" but were fairly friendly when they finally got to me. It's also pretty damn far from anything, which is an aspect of Atlanta that baffles me -- no one takes cabs, and yet none of the bars are in walking distance of where people live. Pity to have to stop after only trying two of their beers because I had to drive.

Pretty much your typical sports bar in Atlanta. Beer selection is pretty decent, food is average. Try the nacho mountain. Sometimes they have good bands, sometimes not. The last band we saw was God awful. If your ears begin to bleed I would recommend sitting in the back bar or patio area. Used to go about once or twice a week. Never had any issues with the wait staff, they are generally prettty cool, can get really busy on weekend nights though. Bar area gets pretty smokey also.

Good food, very reasonably priced. Service has always been good. Managers will change the TV to what you want on without much hesitance. Good trivia nights. They have a separate area away from the smoke, which is a plus. Patio is nice on mild days to watch the Roswell Rd traffic go by, or just sit there.

I've been going here since it was Taco Mac, and then after it became North River Tavern. I'm never going back. They used to have the friendliest wait staff and bartenders around, as well as really good bar food. My experience there last week showed why they're not busy, even on a nice Friday evening - even the outdoor patio was completely deserted. The bartender was by far the rudest, most hostile I've run across in my life. She forgot our request for menus immediately after we asked for them. She slammed our drinks down on the bar, then disappeared to the other end of the bar, and never came back, preferring to chat with other wait staff and customers. After repeated attempts to catch her attention, which she completely ignored, she finally flounced back down and said "Now, what is so important?" I asked her to get her manager, and she turned her back and started washing dishes. Things went downhill from there, and we left without finishing our drinks, after finally speaking with the manager, who looked like he was about 22 years old. I found the whole atmosphere completely changed from the fun, lively spot we've enjoyed for so many years. Why have 5 or 6 hostesses, and only two bartenders? One bartender who obviously isn't interested in selling food or treating customers well, and doesn't seem too worried about her job? Very odd situation in this recession, I have to say.

Food is good. Great place for lunch. It doesn't have enough lighting for me but it has free WiFi!

I like NRT. It's a neighborhood bar with several "regulars." The two bartenders that I've seen working the most are friendly, efficient, very competent, and always notice if I need anything. They clearly know what they're doing! I usually order just an appetizer and always had low expectations because it was "bar food." Every time, I've been pleasantly surprised. They have Stella on draft -- another plus. Check it out! (BTW, the ZIP code is 30350, not 31132.)

I went here to get some good food since I haven't given it a chance since it use to be a Taco Mac ...It was a TUESDAY night ,just before 8 o 'clock . I wanted to place a to go order, so I was told the bar tender would take my order and help me out .the atmosphere was fun. They had an awesome trivia going on and all the service was friendly.I ordered a medium RARE cheese burger and a chicken chimi. All the bar seats were filled but the restaurant was only about 40 percent full. It took them 37 min to bring me my food out ..and the burger couldn't have been anymore WELL DONE. I was annoyed .. I could have drove home and made 5 burgers on the grill in the time it took the cook to make one.It really was the only problem, but coming from someone who NEVER complains about food establishments ..it bothered me enough to come home and write about it, not to mention . .never go back there again. I am a firm believer in tipping, even when ordering take out ... but that is absurd. I felt sorry for everyone who was at the mercy of the cook's snail like speed .

we went here on Christmas eve for a few drinks and some apps. The skewered chick apps are really good and we also had the taquitos, they were good as well. Beer is always cold and servers were very nice. We had a nice time!!

Food is hit or miss. Beer is cold, and there are many options on tap. Very friendly bartenders (I usually sit at the bar or go get drinks at the bar, since they are friendly and quick and the servers are also hit-or-miss). Great if you're a smoker. Good if you're not.

I don't care how long NRT has been around. That doesn't change the fact my server "Mason" was awful and my wings were extra crispy when I didn't even order them that way. Never coming back. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because they give celery AND carrots with their wings (most places only give celery nowadays).

This place is a great dive bar with a actually decently diverse menu. Service is always quick and efficient. Sometimes the crowd can be a little rowdy and obnoxious during sports or fight nights, but the outside deck allows you to get away from those people if you want a more laid back dinner! I definitely like this place. The food is god and the price is right!

Wow we had the best waitress tonight named Amanda. Omg she was so awesome. My tab was 60.00 or something and I could only tip 40.00. Anyway if i was one of those rich miscreants I would've tipped her millions. Everyone else was spot on too!!! ;) Thank you!!

What a difference a new menu makes! It has been 10 months since Ive been to North River and they did a complete 180! The main dining room has more TV's, additional lighting, the booths seats have been refinished and the music is finally loud enough to hear it. I heard from some co-workers North River Tavern got a new menu and I had to try it out. I don't know what changed but everything we had was delicious. Previous visits left us disappointed and not feeling good. We started with the nacho tots and they're just as amazing as they sound! A mound of crispy tots with cheese, bacon, ranch dressing and scallions. We were fighting over the last bite! If you go-try them! You're welcome!! I ordered the cuban with tots. The bread was perfectly toasted, the mound of bbq they put on topped with ham and cheese AND pickles was all heaven! I couldn't eat the entire thing and I was thrilled to have left overs. In an area where good restaurants are hard to find, I am so glad NRT changed. I cant wait to go back again!

I liked the eclectic selection of draft microbrews, but the vibe of the crowd turned me off. It seemed like the goal of everyone in there was to get knee-walking BLOTTO. The place was full and loud, but everyone seemed sad and lonely.

Sad to say, but NRT has dropped the proverbial ball. We decided to visit for trivia this past Wednesday and I'm still upset at the service (or lack thereof) that we received. Parking - The way the parking lot is structured makes the lot fill up fast, but there's still parking in the very back. We were seated immediately when walking in, given menus, napkins & silverware. Our server approached us promptly and asked us for drinks before we were ready. And that was the last decent service of the night. Starters; Pickles - Hearty, fried dill pickle chips with homemade buttermilk ranch ($6.95) Verdict - Too much breading made the pickles more like chunks of little crispies. The ranch didn't taste homemade, more like Kroger brand stuff. Entrees: Triple Bypass Burger - Turn your smart phone's heart monitor off! Bacon and cheddar under a fried egg topped with lettuce, tomato and garlic mayo. Served with fries. ($9.95) Verdict - He was into it. The fried egg was very disappointing and too done. He complained that the egg didn't ooze enough and didn't do anything for the burger. 'Merican Burger - Strips of Applewood smoked bacon, sliced battered mushrooms and crispy onion straws with a smoked BBQ honey mustard blend under a melted duo of white and yellow American cheeses. Served with fries. ($9.95) Verdict - Pretty good. The battered mushrooms weren't really battered, instead they were mushy and inconsistent. The "strips of bacon" means one strip of bacon. The melted cheeses were pretty good. I couldn't finish the whole thing so I had to take the rest to-go. The fries, a resounded "meh" all around. Nacho Tots - golden friend tater tots topped with melted cheese, bacon and scallions. Served with homemade buttermilk ranch dressing. ($6.95) Verdict - Decent. The tots kept sticking together and you couldn't use a fork without breaking a tot into a million pieces. My husband ordered his burger with a side of fries and also placed an order for Nacho Tots at the same time as a second appetizer. The server assumed he wanted Nacho Tots as his side so when served his burger came with a side of Nacho Tots. The manager brought out all the food and when this issue was brought up, he said he would comp. the side and bring out a bigger order of Nacho Tots, in addition to the fries that came with the burger. Our friends who joined us also lamented about their orders. My friend ordered the Country Fried Chicken that came with mash potatoes and collard greens. When served, she was given broccoli instead of collard greens, but fearing that the staff would mess with her food, she didn't say anything. Our service was few and far between. Catching a glimpse of our server was like seeing the aurora borealis - a rare sight. She would show up randomly and then disappear when we needed her. My water never once got refilled during our stay and empty plates made themselves at home on the table. When we finally flagged her down for the checks, both checks were wrong. Our friends had our entrees and vice versa. When she redid them, theirs was correct, but ours was wrong, again. She charged us $5.95 for a SIDE of Nacho Tots that the manager said he would comp. When the manager came over, we pointed out that he said the side was comped and we would pay the full price for the full-size order of the Nacho Tots. Well, he rescinded his offer and told us he had to charge us since we ate it. When I brought up the fact that the most expensive sides, the Premium Sides, were $4.50 and NOT $5.95, he said he would take a few dollar offs. As if removing a few bucks would make up for the fact that he lied to us. So we got charged $4.50 for a side of Nacho Tots that he said he would comp. (since the server made the mistake) and then charged us $6.95 for the full order. At that point, we just wanted to get out of there and paid. It was no use arguing with this gentleman that refused to keep his word. Of the 10+ times we've been there, this is easily the worst. I've always loved this place for cheap, decent food, but the service has completely turned me off. Even living 5 minutes away can't make up for it. I'm not sure if this place is under new management, but the menu is completely different. They used to have a lot of options, but they've been narrowed down to the front and back size of a laminated menu. No more BBQ! The menu, looks exactly like the one at Varner's Tavern in Symrna AND Suburnban Tap in Marietta (save for a few name changes. Example: The Triple Bypass burger is called the Widow Maker at Varner's). All three restaurants are now sister locations - all serving from a nearly identical menu. NRT Menu: northrivertavern.com/#!m… Varner's Menu: varnerstavern.com/#!menu… Suburban Tap Menu: suburbantap.com/#!menu/c… Do yourself a favor and travel the extra distance to Marietta or Smyrna for service!

I love their wings. I haven't had much else here. And they often have beer and other alcohol specials. Something cool about this place is that they have a car service that will take you home free of charge if it's within like 10 miles of your home (don't quote me on this..) Also, they have trivia many nights of week, which is a blast if you get a group together.

IF you want a good beer or a stiff drink (one liquor / mix juice or soda-nothing more) for a reasonable price, this is the place. I often come for a quick drink after work. You will leave smelling like a ashtray. The smoke at times is unbearable. Alot of older men hang out here (not sure what the crowd is after 9). This is the vibe I see all the time. There are a lot of regulars at the bar. Bartenders are so so. They are not the best, but they do the best they can.

There is hope!!! There is now a wonderful human bartending there named Tina. She has great hair, she's not sexist, and she's sober! The hair doesn't matter. What matters is that she's fast, cordial, and attentive. I was only stopping by when desperate (because the service is notoriously bad and drunk) but Tina gives me hope.

Fried pickles are awesome and the drinks are what you would expect from a dive bar - Dont come and plan to order mixed cocktails like margaritas. Service is never great but the beer is cold.

Considering we love sports bars and I've worked in serveral this one is crap. The smell of smoke will always be an issue but that's not even why I'm reviewing this place. All three times I've been here the food has been awful in some way, last night our appetizers were over cooked/burned and dried out and the other appetizer was undercooked and soggy. The only thing that place is decent for is the bar. That's it!

Personally, I'm not a fan of their food, but the outdoor patio is fun for drinks on a sunny day. It's regular bar food, and they've got their selection of nachos and chicken wings and sandwiches, but everything always seems like an afterthought to me. Sometimes the tables are sticky, sometimes the service is excruciatingly slow, and the wings aren't always that good. (I personally don't think they have the best wings, but everyone has different personal preferences with their food.) The nachos I had here once were unappetizing to even look at. Normally I dive into nachos like nobody's business - what's not to love?! - but after picking at the heap of tasteless chips with my fork, I couldn't be bothered to finish them. Everyone's pretty laid back though, and I'll grab a drink here with a girlfriend from time to time.

What a dump! Disgusting. The place is in dire need of a makeover. I think I might have gotten emphysema just breathing in their with all the smokers. On the plus side, they have a decent patio, plenty of televisions for sports and, surprisingly, have Center Ice for hockey.

I've been going to North River Tavern for 5-6 years now and I'm happy to say the best wings in the Atlanta metro area are still the best, and even better. I stopped in about 1130pm and ordered 6-piece lemon pepper wings with ranch and celery + carrots. And its not like getting fast food at midnight where its been sitting for an hour and getting reheated, thrown in a box, into a bag, into your car console. I ate them at midnight and they were hot, fresh, juicy and flavorful. They're open until 230am and kitchen serves until about 1am. I normally praise the gritty, rub-type flavor on my wings.. and while these wings are more juicy and slightly saucy.. it's more like a BUTTERY flavor than an oily sauce. Amazing. I would have licked the wax paper if I had more than one Sweetwater Blue. I swear. NRT is huge.. and there is a smoking section, and a non-smoking section, which I am a fan of. There's also a patio, a huge bar, a stage, and another room with two pool tables. AND there's a room for poker tourney's on certain nights, and a growler area.. and a CLAW MACHINE. It's certainly nothing special, and you might be talked to, or cursed at (?) or bitched at by a strange local.. but for what it is, NRT is ON POINT.

Christmas shopping and needed a break so found this place. I'm a Northerner so the smoking in the bar was a jolt but compensated by extensive tap beer selection. Great IPAs. Rustic decor. Lots of TVS. Lots of seating. Delicious buffalo chicken wrap.

Definitely my favorite local bar in the world! I've had many things on the menu and have never been disappointed! The chicken taquitos, chicken fajitas, taco salads, even sandwiches are beyond delicious! They also have a full bar, pool tables, live music, huge TVs everywhere and bartenders that actually know how to mix drinks and make them to your liking! Right now I believe they are on Scoutmob so if you hurry in, you can get a discount. Prices are relatively cheap so the discount is not a big deal at all. I've been coming here for years and take all friends in from out of town here when they visit! You must try it!

I wish I could do ZERO stars and here is why. My wife works in the area and I had the opportunity to take her to lunch. She said she had been there several years before and enjoyed it. We walked in and the hostess said "Just sit anywhere" so we did. We went to a booth in the main dining area. We then sat there for 5 minutes waiting for a server to at lease acknowledge our existence; no such luck. I then went back to the hostess stand and grabbed a couple of menus so we could have our decisions made when they did come around. We then sat there for another 5 minutes as several of the staff made eye contact and nothing else. No "Be right with you" no even "Hi". We then see one guy look right at us as he is putting food down at the booth next to us. He makes direct eye contact and then walks away. At this point I'm done. We go to the bar and ask for the manager. The bartender gave the expression of "Oh no, not again." I'm sure you can guess by now who the manager was. Yep, it was the guy that made eye contact with me and said nothing. I told him that this was my first and last time visiting and described our experience. He looked at me as if I was speaking a foreign language. As we walked out, I began to wonder if he even really was the manager and the bartender just grabbed someone to act as "manager." The only thing he said as we walked out was "How 'bout I buy you lunch?" Really....and just how long would I have to wait for that?????

Okay, so let me start with saying that I am a smoker from New York. In New York, smoking indoors is pretty much the equivalent to drowning puppies or stealing candy from babies. Hell, you have to be 25 feet away from any door in a public place to light up or you'll be tarred and feathered in the town square. I visited Atlanta quite frequently in 2013, as I had a long distance boyfriend. The visits ended once he moved home in early 2014 and North River is one of the things I miss most. Maybe it's because it's the first place I ever had Angry Orchard on tap and fell in love with it. Maybe it's because I am a nicotine craving northerner who remembers the days when New York didn't treat smoking indoors like a felony and I miss sitting in a bar and lighting one up. Maybe it's because it's just a nostalgic place for me and my now husband to remember our times in Georgia. I only ate here once in all of our visits and I quite enjoyed the food- but I also don't have a super refined tongue, and I'm generally happy with bar food. It's definitely a dive bar but the atmosphere was relaxed and I loved that the female bartenders were all tattooed and unique. I am heavily tattooed myself and seeing a place that welcomes it was refreshing. I am happiest in an unpretentious place, so maybe this place suited my style better than other people. All I know is that when my husband and I come back to visit Atlanta (which wormed it's way into my heart despite my Yankee tendencies of hating the south), North River will definitely be a place that we revisit.

Maybe I'm overly particular. I nitpick and complain rather regularly, but I feel my criticisms are justified. It's a curse, being a magnet for crap, and the magnet was in full force today. I have been to plenty of restaurants that I've bitched and moaned about that all feel like they are owned and run by the same group of mental patients (see Coldbrews, TJ's, etc.), yet I enter, and order in an obvious attempt to prove that I'm a glutton for punishment. Today was no different. I wasn't in any particular mood for anything on a lazy Saturday afternoon, and a good friend of mine who played football for the University of Akron wanted to meet up to watch the Penn State/Akron debacle. As a former Penn State player myself, we had to bet, and the loser would have to eat a certain menu item from a certain restaurant that shall remain nameless. The item in question has, on more than one occasion, caused people in my office to basically take their laptops into the bathroom and work from there the remainder of the afternoon. Enough said (and I won by the way). My buddy bailed thanks to his wife making plans so I just hoped in my car and decided to drive around without any predetermined destination. Hence, North River Tavern. There were only a few cars in the lot, but I swung in anyway. The outside architecture was very reminiscent of a German restaurant with gables and the trim work you would see in an Oktoberfest atmosphere. The inside? Not so much. I walked in to the smoke-filled bar area and sat at a high-top where I waited, waited, waited, while watching 3 members of the wait staff BS'ing in a corner until the bartender finally peeled herself away from the four customers at the bar. She took my order and a young man delivered my water asking if there was anything else that I needed. My first thought was "No. I'm just here for the secondhand smoke and delicious water." Idiot. "I'll take a menu, thanks." He then came back with a menu that I was sure I didn't want to order from, but at this point I felt invested for some reason. I had to move to the next table over. Above my head was a skylight and a ceiling fan. As I was working on my computer, the fluttering light was driving me insane. I'm not trying to make a joke here, but you could seriously injure someone. One of my best friends is epileptic, and could literally have a seizure if they were exposed to the strobe effect long enough. Speaking of seizures, my food came. As ordered, my queso dip arrived with the waiter staring at it and uttering the following statement which pretty much summed up the entire adventure: "Oh, it looks like they gave you artichoke dip instead." "Fine, I'll take it." I said, hoping to minimize my time at this dump while wondering why it took the Mensa member a walk from kitchen to table before realizing his mistake. The dip wasn't bad, but for it coming out 2 minutes after I ordered it, I'm curious as to how a film formed on the top (Mensa is rolling in its grave right now), and not sure why in the hell they needed a small cup of dip to be surrounded with an industrial amount of tortilla chips. I would say that this was an off-experience but I get the feeling after my moments with other ridiculously bad dive bars in Atlanta that this is the norm.

We went here for trivia Thursday night and had a good time with friends. Drink and food prices were pretty good. The food selection was very standard bar food style. Everything food-wise was pretty much just "alright" and not overly special or exciting. We had the wings (hot and habanero sauces) and the fried chicken salad. Nothing special about either, but they okay. Service started out great, however, as the evening went on, our server was much less attentive. She may have been set with several tables at once, but not sure. It was an hour before we ordered food.... This place really isn't bad at all, but it's not special either. It's a heavily locals place, which is definitely a redeeming quality. We will be back to try this place again, probably on a trivia night.

This used to be my absolute favorite spot. Best food, great wings, amazing beer selections and prices, and outstanding service. The food as of last year has gone exponentially downhill. It takes forever to get a single order of wings out, and they really Don't know what well done or swimming mean either. I always love my bartenders however, but they cycle through too many servers there. Some are good others are ditzy. I just think with a good overhaul of the kitchen staff and some other small changes IE WHY DID YOU GET RID OF LIVE MUSIC?!?!?! That North river tavern could be back to the glory days where it stayed packed 24/7

I used to go to North River Tavern when I lived in Alpharetta and I still drop by from time to time for wings and beer. They have an excellent draft beer selection, with something like 30+ beers on tap, and many more in bottle. They also have plenty of TVs and games set-up and live bands on the weekends. Great place to go with friends and try different beers while eating some of the best wings in Atlanta! I really like their habanero wings and their cheese fries, and their el guapo wings are AMAZING and VERY hot quite possibly the hottest wings in ATL. I give it only 3/5 stars because their service can be pretty bad. Its hit or miss, most nights its not THAT bad but when its bad its bad. Can sit at the bar or tables and get ignored, slow getting beers, etc. Last time I went they trashed 1/4 beer and a couple wings when I got up from the bar to go to the bathroom. I haven't been back since, but I still like the place for its beer selection and el guapo wings!

This place is in walking distance from my place so we have been here so many times, hamburgers, chicken strips, wings, quesadilla it has all been really good. We have eaten in only about 4 times and have had take out here numerous times we can't count. The kitchen is open late and has helped us when we get hungry at 12 am. I have never had bad service nor a bad meal. Dive bar with great bar food, if this is what you are looking for visit and visit often.

Why do people automatically associate swords with autism? I have a vast sword collection, mostly asian and old norse blades whhich seem to be the main issues, and I dont understand how this makes me autistic. I'm a virgin, yes, but swords actuallu make me MORE likely to get laid. I have countless conversations with cute, cute girls in my classes about weapons I own. I have been able to speak to women for the first time because they want to know about my Viking sword, or my latest Bamboo handled Katana. I dream of meeting a girl named Anya so I can say "I own a Katana but I want a cute Anya", that is when I will lose my virginity. But I'm not autistic. I buy these swords to use as often as I can. I have many friends.

I have gone here many times since I'm a neighbor. At times it's awesome. Others is sucks big time. The wait staff blows most of the time. Go on take a seat and if you get a drink in 10 minutes count yourself lucky. I have walked out after 20 minutes without even " I'll be right with ya". When you are able to get service the fried mushrooms are King and the food is good bar food.

**GROWLER FILL REVIEW ONLY** Don't judge this place by the sketchy, smoky bar cover. They have some of the best prices on growler fills around. The only caveat is that if you do not have one of their bottles, they will take the one you bring in and replace it with one of theirs, as I believe they keep theirs cold (and I assume they must not sanitize them on-site). So just don't bring in one you have an attachment to. A lot of the beers are $8, but the draw for me was the fact they had a few New Belgium Lips of Faith beers for $10-11. A 22 oz bottle of one of these alone is around $9, so getting 64 oz on draft for just a couple dollars more? Hell yeah. I came specifically for the Heavenly Feijoa but I got the last of it. The bartender didn't charge me for it so I also picked out Paardebloem, which is a slightly similar beer. The reason I'm reviewing now instead of after more visits is because I really, really like that she trusted I'll bring that one back without me being a regular or anything. Really it's not my type of bar at all, or at least I personally wouldn't feel comfortable alone there, but I will definitely make it a growler stop. They have their list on their site with prices, and they update it every Friday. Pretty much everything that's on there right now was there minus of course me draining them of Heavenly Feijoa. I didn't find the staff to be terrible, though I obviously only spent about 10 minutes there. The bartender who poured my growlers was nice and a guy working there was asking me if I had any of the other Lips of Faith beers they had.

This was my first time going to North River today, and I must say the service was spot on. I was greeted at the host stand as I made my way to the bar. The bartender approached w a smile and took my order instantly. My drink was in front of me before I could blink, and the cute little redhead never let my glass go empty. She was attentive but not always in me and my friends face. We were able to watch our game, and the manager was kind enough to turn the sound on. I liked the place so much, I'm going back tomorrow. I found a new watering hole.

It was nothing really special. I've had better food... better service... and although the beer selection was awesome.. they were OUT of the beer I wanted to try. As a non smoker I was happy to see 2 distinct sections to the restaurant but noticed that if I wanted to go to the bathroom I had to end up coming out smelling like an ash tray... Maybe there was another bathroom as well but I didn't see it off hand. The wings I heard were supposed to be amazing here so that's exactly what we had. We got 20 wings and figured we would try 4 sauces/rubs. I don't know if it was just us or maybe they got a new cook but they were decent wings...just nothing to write home about. Average bar food. I was impressed by the selection of beers and I always like to try new/local beers when I travel. I was pretty stoked with my selection but disappointed when they were out of it. I guess it would have been a good one. The staff was ok, I felt like they were rushing us to order and get us out. Not a great thing since the place only had 3 or 4 other tables full around lunch. All and all an average experience. Not something I would likely repeat

Went here the Tuesday before Christmas, in the chaos of shopping and traffic I wanted to sit down and enjoy some beer and wings before I headed back out to finish my shopping. I was refused beer because my ID 'is fake'. I am a 26 year old woman, and I USED to frequent that establishment. I was told that because of the many college kids that come in with fake ID's that it's just against their policy. I had many other forms of identification on me, proving I am who I am, yes I look young, but my ID clearly stated my age, birthdate and the year I turned 21. Thank you, North River for refusing me service! I had to walk out of the establishment with my head hung low and fuming mad, it was embarrassing and unnecessary. I feel insulted and I will never go back!

I frequent this bar quite often and I can honestly say it is the best! It doesn't matter if it is during the day or at night it is always fantastic! Between the bartenders and the managers I always feel welcome and a part of the family. The drinks and food are always on point and they always know what I like! My family loves to come here when they are in town and it is always their first stop! It is a very friendly atmosphere and having the smoking and non smoking option is ideal for everyone! I love the tavern feel of this bar and I will continue coming up here for a long time.

This place has the look of a typical bar or tavern which is great. I went on a Thursday evening. It was not too packed. I had a chicken quesadilla and tacquitos. They were both pretty good. About what you would expect from a bar kitchen. The prices were pretty average. This place has a small stage, full size bar and pool tables in back. The drinks are moderately priced and have specials. I'll definitely be back to check it out again.

A little dark and scary for me at night, although the renovations have made it a lot better! There's a decent wait staff which changes constantly, but one good thing: the food is great. Mostly made from scratch and the brunch is where it's at!

Local beers are a bit pricey but love the selection. I've never eaten anything bad here and the Reuben is the best I think I've ever had! Bartenders are nice even when they are slammed.
