Pretty good. Not at all worth the expense or the trouble getting there. If you smoke, this is a great place for you as it is one of the very few nice bars where you can.

Unfortunately,We had a terrible experience at NY Prime. We waited 15 minutes before anyone even came to our table. When the server finally arrived he was rude and condescending.I don't care how good the food is,when I'm paying 100+ per person I expect to be treated with respect and dignity. There are numerous steakhouses in Atlanta where the food is just as good or better and the staff is happy to have you there.I can overlook the food if the service is phenomenal but not the other way around. The smoke was the least of my worries. Will never be back.

Can't falter the meal at all. It's what you expect from a classic NY steakhouse. There are 4 attendants to the table. Steak- porterhouse for two-$96. Great quality meat. Sides family style. Split ceaser salad- enough for two. Very anchovy flavor with extra Parmesan and anchovy on the side. Southwestern creamed corn was delicious- spicy and smoky- but could have gone without the cheese. Loaded1 pound potatoes dressed at table by server,Jimmy. While dining by saw a big red=15 pound lobster available for purchase- only In restaurant for last 48 hours. They go through a lot of "big reds" a week. We couldn't make it through dessert but got complimentary big chocolate chip cookie and ice cream for DH birthday. Found a new place in our rotation of visits buckhead. Easy with open table- no troubles on a Saturday night. Can walk to from hotel. Another plus. Only drawback is entrance through smoky cigar bar. Could smell throughout dinner and had little problem with asthma, but in back room was ok. They should consider alternate entrance. All in all 4.85 in stars!!!

Food: I was there with a colleague and both got steaks. I got the 12 oz filet and he got the 16 oz ny strip. Both were cooked to our liking. Worth noting that their medium is a bit more rare than some, but they explained that before I ordered and it worked out well. Side were cheesy potatoes which are really cheesy. Onion rings were good and the sauce they served them with fit. Kind of like a steak sauce. Garlic spinach was awesome. Beer selection was a little light. I ordered an IPA which was on the menu, but they said they were all sold out. Come on now... Service: what you would expect from a place that has a $59 steak on the menu, good knowledgable and clean looking. Also, my buddy ordered a full order of onion rings and they suggested we get the half order which was plenty. I appreciated that. Atmosphere: right down the fairway for the most part. Dark wood all around, but they had some guy singing. That was fine. Not too loud so he wasn't annoying. Folks were smoking up front at the bar, but it didn't seem to get smoke over by our seats. Misc: it was very good, but you get what you pay for I guess. About $250 and we didn't crack the wine list. That's a lot for me.

Good dining room setting, good food and good service. The restaurant, however, is thick with cigar smoke from the bar. Aging college frat boys puffing cigars and shouting at each other make up the entire bar scene. Ruined the experience for us. Sent all our clothes to the Dry Cleaners and we're praying all that smoke smell comes out. Will not be back.

WOW....what a great steak. We went to this steak house when we were in Atlanta. Neither of us have ever had a pittsburgh style steak and it was excellent. The pittsburgh style steak has a char on it. we both asked for it with a lite char and it was delicious. Both of our steaks were served on a sizzling plate, similar to Ruths Chris. My steak was one of the best I've had EVER. Id go back to Atlanta just to eat at this place. Oh yes, the lobster cocktail was very good and so were the oysters.....but the steak was perfect. This steak house reminded us of Smith and Wollenskys. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Our server was very nice and informative. She recommended a few dishes which were very good. This was a great dining experience.

So what can one say about a restaurant that continually delivers great food, albeit at high prices, I say, I'll go there again and again and again and again, etc etc.!!! The food is great and you wont be disappointed. We orderd a lobster (see the picture I put on Yelp) and it was yummilicious. They actually take the meat ouit of the shell and dry it off and then place it on your plate. I loved that! The steaks are awesome. The baked shrimp appetizer was delicious. The Chilean Sea Bass was so tender it melted in my mouth. The Porterhouse is out of this world. All in all, I LOVE THIS PLACE One major drawback, they allow smoking at the bar. Personally I don't care about the smoking at the bar, however, the ventilation system is either inoperative or they dont have one that will pull out the smoke. This is important to note because you can smell the smoke throughout the restaurant. If you are a smoker you will love this place. If you are a nonsmoker and you sit in the back rooms you will be okay. Also, I have to say I have seen some very hot women at the bar, for those of you that are interested.

Pricey, clubby, dark steakhouse with an active bar . Very good meal. BF's steak was cooked perfectly. All sides were excellent, especially fettucine alfredo, and portions are huge. Giant shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were a little tough. Definitely an old-school feel. Our server was friendly, kind and proficient. White tablecloths, and servers wheeling even one little appetizer plate to your table on a rolling cart. Live music with a mix of mostly older easy listening tunes, at least on the weekends. Valet only. But I'm being generous with the three stars because of one giant issue. The smoke. Tons and tons of smoke. Georgia law doesn't permit smoking in restaurants unless there's a separate area or ventilation system. This bar area is not separate, and the ventilation system is clearly all but useless. Despite sitting several tables away, the smoke was very noticeable, and we ended up infused with it...clothes, hair, even my handbag reeked when we left. It was so bad we had to shower and change clothes as soon as we got home. We're not normally that fussy at all. I haven't come home smelling like that since some memorable nightclub visits way too many years ago. So I guess it was kinda nostalgic, now that I think about it....but those nights didn't involve $200 dinners. If you're a smoker, this is your place. Or maybe if you can sit very, very far in the back. But we won't be returning.

I enjoy eating at nice steak restaurants, so I wanted to check this place out. My date and I went there this week for dinner and I was not impressed... I ordered the filet cooked medium (as did my date) and overall it was good although some pieces were basically raw. I was disappointed that they didn't have truffle oil in house because truffle mashed are my favorite, but got the cheesy mashed instead. They were NOT good. They tasted like they had several slices of american cheese melted over them. We also had a side of the fettuccine alfredo, which was VERY good. I definitely recommend that. The service was not as good as I was expecting for being so pricey. I went without a drink for a good 20 minutes before I had to ask another server to bring me one. Even if I'm not enjoying my meal, if you keep my drink full I'll be happy. We ordered the cheesecake for dessert and it was good, but not great. I would describe this restaurant the same- good not great. Mainly because for the price I expect amazing food and impeccable service. Also, people smoke cigars at the bar, so when you walk to the bathroom you walk through it.

First off I haven't been here in a year, It was so refreshing to have a warm welcome when I returned for my dinner.. I was greeted quickly and in a timely manner by Jennifer, She was very professional and her suggestions were amazing!!!! My partner and I were very impressed .. As always the food was right on par, I will be returning very soon and only asking for my new favorite server Jennifer!!

Best steak and chopped salad! Wonderful place. The pulled crabmeat and shrimp are two appetizers that I could add a chopped salad to (separately) and have as a meal any day. It is a perfect romantic date. Bobby is great, the staff is Excellent, the music is great.

Steak was awesome....period. The food was very tasty and filling. They were also very quick to get the food or to us. Lucky for me since I had the biggest order. The waiting staff was awesome. Very nice people. Always being attentive to our every night.

The best steakhouse in Atlanta. I have been to this restaurant multiple times, and they have never disappoint. Knowledgeable waiter who also provide excellent service. My starter drink, gin martini has been always perfectly made. Needless to say that they have great wine selection also. I truely enjoyed their Fillet, combination of a perfectly charred outside with a luscious rare-red inside.

Not happy about the service. Thrilled by the food. With reservation we still drank most of our wine at the bar without the restaurant being totally full. The after being seated we still waited. I hate waiting at top star restaurants. Call me a snob, I'm paying for service. I want to be served damn it! When the food arrived, quickly after ordering, it was the epitome of perfection. Ordered the barrel cut filet, onion straws, creamed spinach, and loaded back potato. It was everything amazing.

Just dined at NY Prime Saturday night. Though no fault of the restaurant, the traffic was horrific (almost gridlocked) around 7pm, and as a result we were late with our reservation. The staff was quite accommodating. Started with the shrimp cocktail. "Shrimp" is a misnomer here, as there were 4 tiger prawns on the plate, each about the size of a kitten. (OK, slight exaggeration.) Impressive presentation, but I found the size resulted in less flavor and chewier and stringier than should be. I recommend that they use shrimpier shrimp. The Fettucine Alfredo was excellent, as was the garlic spinach. The steak fries were quite tasty (though really they are about 1/4 of a potato each) with the skin on. The onion rings presented well, but by the time they were on the table were losing their heat. OK. The steak, a filet mignon 8 oz: Cooked well, but not terribly savory. I'm gonna blame the cow on this one... The killer: We were seated at a table relatively near the bar. Seemed ok at first, but as the cigars became more prevalent, less so for us nonsmokers. Really can't recommend it if you are at all sensitive. (We both took showers as soon as we got home and the clothes went right in the hamper, including my sports jacket. I'll have to add the dry cleaning bill to the cost of the evening.) The good news: The service was excellent at every turn. The bad news: Ultimately, for the high prices, we expected more, and thus were disappointed.

This place was awesome!!! The food is top notch as is the service!!! The creamy mashed potatoes are out of this world. The steaks are on the money except the 40 oz porterhouse was rare. If you want to see a few celebrities and smoke a cigar and eat an amazing steak you won't be let down.

Why 5 Stars...... It's Simply the Best Steakhouse in Atlanta. I can't wait to return. Service - Top Notch Food - Prepared to perfection just the way you want it (Bone in Rib-eye) Crowd - Typical Buckhead business types Décor - More men's club than quiche and ferns Must Haves - The Seafood Platter specifically (the oysters Rockefeller) and the BACON. That's right I said bacon. Its one huge slice grilled! Remember, You get what you pay for. If you're budget minded go to Sizzler.

  • DpursuitisReal L.

Superbly exquisite and discreet Not sure why i chose "discreet" to describe my experience but it really does seem to desribe the ambience in the restaurant. While the crowd was lively and the restaurant and bar area were filled with warm bodies and chatter I felt like my visit was strictly about my visit. The service was impeccable and not too pretentious. I shared oyster rockefeller, bone-in rib steak with sauteed mushrooms and cheese mashed potatoes and quite a few cocktails with my friend. I enjoyed everything especially the oysters. I probably wouldn't order mashed potatoes, again. Along with phenomenal conversation, the meal made my experience during this first visit to this location above average. Will definitely return! #tellingyouwhatithink #dpursuitisreal

Service and food is absolutely great. The appetizers were amazing. We had an assortment of a few. The shrimp cocktail is fresh and delicious. They have large portioned sides to add to your entree meat. The creamy spinach is great. The service was perfect. The restaurant does allow smoking at the bar.

This place is amazing. I went here with a party of 20 during the holidays on a Saturday and had 0 complaints. From the thick cut bacon appetizer to the banana cream pie for dessert this place gets 5 stars for food and service!! With our party being so large we tried everything. I highly recommend the bacon candy that I mentioned before and the bone in ribeye. You definitely get what you pay for here. They do allow smoking here and even have an after dinner cigar menu.

Went here with a big group on a Wednesday night. The place was packed solid. It's a very noisy experience. That being said, why did they waste hiring a live band to play? The band was barely audible. I had the 8oz steak, which was tasty, but which I needed a magnifying glass to see. It came with a few..very few , vegetables. I asked for another dollop of the mashed potatoes, which were good. If you ate here regularly, you would lose weight. I had the berries for dessert, and this was a very generous portion of blueberries, strawberries and cream. The service was good.

Service was excellent Not used to smoking being allowed in restaurants so was disappointed in that since it effected taste of food and overall experience. Food was good not great. Live music was very good but restaurant was dark so a little difficult to read menu especially at first.

Fantastic bare bone steakhouse. Not fancy but yummy and very well done. We ordered the baked shrimp to start with (yum) then had the petite filet and NY strip. Both were cooked beautifully and sizzled on the plate. They cooked them to perfection with just salt pepper and butter. I have only had a better steak in New York (think Peter Luger's). This place is a keeper. Go there now!

  • Whitney T.

Pretty good pretty good. I've been to many steakhouses and this one is not at the top of my list, but the service was pretty good and they have 2 dishes that taste really good; their cheesy mashed potatoes and onion strings. Their steak is pretty average for a steakhouse. However, I do recommend trying them out and I would return.

Top Notch. All the food is absolutely incredible! The best part is you can smoke at the bar and in the booths to the right of the bar. After eating a giant steak and mammoth lobster just sit back indulge in your favorite cigar. Always a great experience there with rock star service.

  • Ki K.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. The steak was good. It was tender. We both had the Ribeye. We had some sort of specialty bacon for the appetizer. It was very thick. It was actually pretty good. The service was good. The sides were OK. I prefer the sides at Chops or Ruth Crisp. Overall it was a good dinner. The atmosphere was smokey that night from people smoking cigarettes at the bar. We were sitting at a table all the way in the back of the restaurant, far away from the bar which was in the front. That was weird nice, upscale restaurant. The decor was very nice and upscale. The smoke made you feel like you were at a club - a less sophisticated club. We went on a Saturday night. It was a very romantic evening except for the smoke.

The best steak I have ever had. Service is excellent. Get the shrimp too! Everything came out sizzling and the meat has a flavor like no other steakhouse I have been to in Atlanta.

Cigars at the bar. The best Oysters Rockefeller. And the steak is outstanding. Service is A+

  • Charlie B.

This is the kind of steakhouse that you want your regular steakhouse to be. Dark, warm leather and wood everywhere, great attentive service, long list of bourbon and whiskeys, giant charred steaks, amazing oysters, etc. To quote that great American poet, Ferris Bueller, "If you have the means, I highly recommend it."

    (5)
  • Thomas S.

I will make this short. Food and service are top notch. The only quibbles are the fact they allow cigar smoking in the bar, and the wine prices are unreasonably high. Otherwise, this may well be Atlanta's best steakhouse.

I recently dined at Prime with my best friend. I made the usual small talk that we all make before looking at the menu. "So, whatcha gonna get, steak?" "No.", my friend said, "I'm getting the Sea Bass. It's probably one of the best entrees on the menu. It's served in a broth with dumplings. Absolutely delicious." Usually I think Sea Bass can be prepared tastelessly, but THIS entree was an exception! For a place lovingly called "Prime", they have incredible fish. I actually satiated my sushi craving by ordering the Super Crunchee Roll, located under the Chef's specials. It was plenty of sushi for one person, but I wouldn't share if you're a greedy plate picker like me. Speaking of the Chef, he was fantastic! I love it when Chef's have the time to touch every table. He was extremely friendly and highly informed about their wine selection. It was as if he had rented out a car in Monterey and driven up and down the west coast himself. We definitely enjoyed those little touches to our experience. I enjoyed Prime and would absolutely return, especially if I'm doing my shopping around Lenox!

The bar has officially been set. I didn't consider myself a 'steak guy' until I ate here. I am fearful that I will forever be 'chasing the dragon' that is the steak I ate here. A short walk from the Ritz Carlton yelp.com/biz/the-ritz-ca… where I was staying while in town on business is where I found this gem. I located it using my Yelp App of course and they even participate in the OpenTable reservation system so making sure my colleague and I had a seat was a breeze. It was just after 5:30pm on a Tuesday night when we arrived, a mere few seconds passed and we were welcomed by a tall thin bartender that was sincerely jolly. My colleague smelled cigar smoke and was pleased to learn that smoking was allowed inside the establishment, the bartender reached out for an enthusiastic high-five as he stated "Welcome to Atlanta, Georgia" with just as much enthusiasm. He alerted a man, who I believe was the owner, that we needed a table in the smoking section and our adventure was well underway. Our server greeted us shortly after, took our drink order (Tito's and soda with lime for me!), and introduced us to the menu. Our eyes got big, bigger than our stomachs as we ended up ordering a lot. Before our main course even came between the two of us we had a dozen raw oysters, 4 oysters Rockefeller, a large house salad, and plenty of the variety of different breads that were served with butter. I had the 14oz filet while my colleague opted for a 22oz bone-in rib eye, we both split an order of steak fries which is more like a baked potato on steroids cut into 5 wedges (deliciously crunchy and flavorful). A meal fit for a king, all of my senses were tingling. I regret to inform you that there was no room left for any dessert, but the next time I am in Atlanta I will definitely make room. We ended the night by enjoying the atmosphere for another hour or so over a nice cigar, which they do sell in house as well. FUN FACT: They had live music, a single male singer belting away hits from the 60's and 70's mainly....it really set the mood and dialed in the ambiance. CUSTOMER SERVICE CORNER: Top notch from start to finish, every employee was a class act. Maybe the best service I've ever had even when it started to pick up and we had been there for almost 3 hours enjoying our multi-course meal and cigar. Drink glasses were never less than half full and a smile was never more than a few feet away. 5 WORD SUMMARY: Best Steak I've Ever Eaten

Location: Monarch Tower on Peachtree, next to Phipps Food: Up-scale seafood/steak house Parking: Valet Service: Outstanding Location is little misguiding because it's not really on Peachtree road. It's rather on Lennox road on top of the bride, across from the Phipps. I went for our corporate team dinner and we started out with the seafood platter for appetizers that had stone crabs, shrimp, stuffed crabs, and etc... It was an awesome appetizer trey. Then everyone had their choice of meat. I had the 22oz bone-in, which I could not finish but was savoring every piece. We ordered most of the sides and passed it around like family style but nothing that I thought was memorable. For dessert, I had the ice cream to finish off my warm and delicious holiday team dinner. I would go again for a special occasion since it's pretty pricey. I would like to note the excellent service, but usually up-scale steak houses have awesome services. Oh and I'm not sure if it was just me but I could not find the host/hostess table when I first walked in. I would have to be my only drawback for this place since I hate having to play hide and seek with the staffs.

A smoking restaurant in this day & age. I used to love this restaurant, but haven't & won't go back as long as they allow smoking.....yuk........ I go to Bones when I want a smoke free environment & a great steak

  • Rich V.

I have a lot of friends who frequent Bones, but I really think NYC Prime is at least as good as Bones. Yes, Bones has private meeting rooms and yes Bones remembers you through their customer system, but NYC is less stodgy more edgy, with live music and some great specials. Definitely sign up for their mailing list and be on the lookout for Scotch Night! It's the best deal in Atlanta.

So I had to go to New York Prime for a work dinner, not by my choice as a vegetarian. I was hopeful of nice salads and delicious side items but was completely disappointed. Their house salad was chopped up iceberg lettuce that was drenched in salad dressing- looked like it was a salad from a bag almost. Most of their sides were related to fried onions of some sort. I did like that they accommodated me by putting the sauteed onions and mushrooms on top of my one pound baked potato despite some initial hesitation. The baked potato was fine but nothing special since it's a baked potato! I tried to make do at this restaurant and all the meat eaters at my table seemed pleased but not a lot of vegetables offered at this place. I wouldn't go back but I know that I'm a special case. Also, they had some really loud music playing, which made it hard to hear others during this work dinner on a Wednesday night. They need to pipe it down with some soft jazz instead of two dudes singing Stevie Nicks' "Landslide" at full blast.

Everything was nice ,you will get what you paying for. The cigar smell was little annoying first , but we will used to it after 30 minutes( no matter where you sit , your clothes will smell cigar). Very good food , service and atmosphere. It may look little pricey , but actually its not compare with this level restaurants(The price is right). I am very happy with this steack house and i will come again.

Best to go here on an expense account! Having said that - the food and drink were inline with the prices. The two of decided to sit at the bar to eat; probably the best decision made that night. The two bartenders (both named Stephen if memory serves) did everything right! They knew their stuff, were engaging and very helpful. Definitely would go back for the food and service.

I find it surprising that I have never taken the time to Yelp a review of my wife and I's favorite restaurant. We adore New York Prime at every level. The atmosphere with the red leather and dark wood is exactly what a steakhouse should be, the cigar and smoking-friendly booth seating is the single greatest feature, and I don 't even smoke! The service is about the very best in the city, in my opinion, and the food is equally fantastic. I like charred steaks and they do it the best here. Co-owner and Maitre d' Bobby Donlan is an American treasure, and Big Steve, Little Steve, and all the others behind the bar are fantastic, but we miss Juliette!

A classic steakhouse indeed. Dark woody and royalty service. I will warn that smoking is allowed at the bar and it wafts over to the dining area. Minus 1 for that. The menu boasts the usual delicious suspects. All cuts of steak, a few fish and shellfish delights and a chicken for the red meat hater in the group. You'll even find a double cut veal chop here. There is a delightful live performer there each night getting some guest up and dancing but overall it keeps the mood light even when the decor is dark. The whole table got various cuts of beef, all cooked to perfection and tasted perfect as well. I find steakhouses at this standard and pricepoint to be consistent in delivery of service and food quality. No exception here. Sides are the deciding factor to me. Creamed spinach is as good as any I've had. The whole table sang praises. I am glad to have gotten the full size portion vs. the single serving. The 1 lb baked potato is dressed table side with all the fixins. Nothing special but perfectly delicious. Braised mushrooms are tasty and generous. The hollandaise sauce for asparagus is incredbly flavorful and silky. The bread basket was even a big hit with mix of big crusty white, spiced fruit "bark" and a raisin walnut option. All delicious. The chocolate chip cookie and ice cream dessert is so comfort satisfying goodness! My real pick was the giant slice of NY cheesecake (brought in from Carnegie) and it is really spectacular in its simplicity. it is enough for 3 people, perhaps 4. You can get it with strawberries but I think all it needs is a cappuccino. You do your way and I'll do mine. I find the service attentive but not annoying. Quite perfect actually. Overall a very solid steakhouse experience. 9 out of 10.

Everything about this place was great. Steak was a hair over medium rare, but I am willing to overlook that. Oysters on the half shell, 14 oz filet, mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach were all excellent. Service was top notch - possibly the best I've ever received at a steakhouse.

Location is a bit off the beaten path, a bit hard to find. Party of 5 ordered Seafood Platter, 5 sides, two 40oz Porterhouses, a bottle of wine and a Bone-in Ribeye. The food was pretty good but very pricey, bill came out to around $600 before tips (almost $800 after). One of the porterhouses was undercooked and cold, so that had to be sent back to be fixed. The service is excellent, great servers that are friendly and funny. All thing's considered though, I think I prefer Fleming's or Ruth's Chris as I prefer the steaks there.

My husband and I had dinner at New York Prime last night. I give 5 stars for the service of the waitstaff. The drinks were very good, perfect dirtiness to the martini. We had the lump crab appetizer and it was just ok, a little dry but the sauces were both really great. My husband's filet was amazing and my sea bass was just so so. They need some more veggie options for sides... there has to be more in season than just mushrooms and spinach. We had the cheesy mashed potatoes and they were just ok... we actually argued over if the cheese they used was velveeta. We, of course, went with the cheesecake for desert (from Carnegie Deli in NY)... best cheesecake I've ever had. The wine list needs some help... only 2 options for Pinot Noir by the glass, and both were wines I can usually buy for $10 a bottle at a store (not the quality wine you should serve at an expensive restaurant). We prefer Hal's for a nice steak dinner, but I could see us coming back here at some point.

Aaaahhmaaazzzing! This place was recommended by the concierge at our hotel(even gave us a $20 discount card). My husband and I are foodies, self proclaimed. We are always looking for our taste buds to explode. New York Prime made it happen! The staff was on point, at every turn! The wine, steaks and cheese potatoes were ah maze zing! I would share this place with only my favorite people.

Spacious with classy decor and a live band. Excellent wait staff..friendly and informative. The New York Strip was Superb! Perfect texture and taste. It was well seasoned and well cooked. Cheese Mashed Potatoes were delicious, it was creamy with a light and chewy cheesy crust on the top. The creamed spinach was also yummy. Pretty pricey but worth every penny.

This place has moved into my favorite steak spot. everything about it is an indulgence. From the staff, to the chef, and bartender, their goal is to anticipate your desires and in an indiscreet way, never imposing, delight you. I had the lobster bisque for the very first time. The chef ADDED additional seafood and crab to enhance the flavor, freakin' fantastic, best I have every had. Who does that sort of extra work to please customers these days? NY PRIME does. Bobby Donlan is a former maitre d at Bones, and now he is part owner here. He is very serious about his profession. His customers are the beneficiaries. If you want an extraordinary meal and experience, go here. What a pleasure

  • Fred Z.

Typical steakhouse with limited menu....long list of sides. Large restaurant in downtown Buckhead commercial office setting. They had a tired singer as entertainment which detracted from the atmosphere. Waiter dumped grease on me when serving my ribeye-had to ask for club soda to remedy..... Least expensive bottle of cab is $89.....yikes. Capital Grille is superior in every regard for a specail steak dinner.

I recently took my dad to NY Prime for Father's Day, for I had read that it was superior to Bone's and Chops. Well, here are my critiques: 1. The atmosphere is great except for the solo singer, who, while playing some nice music, could have turned the volume down a few notches on those speakers. It was very difficult to carry on a conversation at the table. 2. Service was exceptional. Our waiter knew the menu well and was very attentive. 3. The food was good, but I wouldn't say it was the best steak & sides I had ever eaten. I had the NY Strip, which was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and very tender, but the side dishes brought the meal down for me. The garlic spinach could have done without a few garlic cloves; the southwest creamed corn had a lot of spices and peppers, but I prefer traditional southern creamed corn which is soaked in butter and bacon fat; the cheesy mashed potatoes were definitely cheesy, but had great flavor. Overall, the meal was a great experience, especially for my dad, but compared to the last meal me and my family had at Chops, it definitely took the runner-up.

THE best steak ... Stone crabs and omg that corn - I don't know what they put in it but it is pure happiness in your mouth! And that doesn't even begin to describe the perfection of those cheesey mashed potatoes ... My mouth waters just thinking about them! Excellent food and phenominal service and I have to say my fav restuarant in Atlanta!

For the money, it's not worth it. Visited- 02/2012 I don't care what they say about cut and quality of meat- I don't want my meat to taste like a hunk of meat. I like flavor. Gimme some flavor! And it was nowhere to be found here. The prices of sides have gone up (based on another Yelp reviews listed prices) and I wasn't impressed. Steamed spinach- was just that. Cheese mashed potatoes- overdone on the cheese to the point where it felt like I was having mushy mac n cheese. Southwestern creamed corn- has a not so tasty cheese crust on top that's too strong to be paired with the corn. Skipped dessert. Wasn't interested. The meat was the perfect cut they said it would be. I cut mine with the butter knife. No need for the big steak knife at all...but again, no flavor. The service was impeccable. That made the experience enjoyable even though I won't be back for any more food. Our server is the only thing that got them a star. (I would recommend the server Thomas P anyday).

If I could give four and a half stars, I would. This really is a world-class steakhouse, and it is obviously trying to knock Bones off the throne. According to the guy dining at Fogo the night before who recommended it, NY Prime is now serving a better quality steak than Bones because Bones has been steadily slipping for a few years. My steak (bone in ribeye) was as magical and wonderful as one would expect a prime steak to be, and to compare it to the exact same cut at Bones where I have eaten it twice, it was as good as the first one and much better than the second one. It is very difficult to get that level of sear on a steak and still have it rare to blue rare in the middle, but they pull it off admirably. The wait staff does a good job of explaining any unique features of their menu. Personally I liked the "char" on the steaks very much, and I do it to my own steaks at home using a 700 degree cast iron pan. My dining companions both did not care for it on their fillets, and I suppose perhaps it was just a little bit much. Maybe 200 degrees too much? But it's optional. The maître d' looked strangely like Rudy Giuliani, and one of the bussers had an accent (pakistani?) so thick that he had to ask me four times if I was done with my plate because I couldn't understand what he was saying. When you first open the menu they have an insert warning you about the prices. I found it to be a good sign if a bit droll. Strangely, after that caveat, I paid only $40 for the same cut that at Bones is $70, and it was every bit as good. The menu goes on to explain in wonderful geeky detail all the ways that their steak is the best. I wanted to take it home to show to my foodie friends; it was really a good writeup on the art of selecting and cooking a cut of USDA prime beef. Atmosphere is loud, but somehow the acoustics give the illusion that people are singing even though they are just talking. I kept thinking I heard people singing happy birthday or jingle bells, but I would look around and no one was singing. But then someone wearing jeans and a sweater (!?) set up a small sound system and a microphone, and started singing with itunes backing him up. It was so bad. If they are going to do live music, that guy needed a live band backing him up. Without it, the sound was flat and lifeless, and we were forced to focus on his voice which, while not off-key, was mediocre at best. Worse, they had it piped outside, and he sounded even worse out there because only his voice was coming through clearly. Everyone was annoyed and one of my dining companions suggested we go back inside and "punch that guy in the face to shut him up". The decor is very classy. Even the wood floor is well taken care of, and the walls and ceiling are like an art gallery or a federal office building. Everyone in there looked old-money rich, unlike the crowd at Bones and Fogo which in my opinion typically looks a little bit like they are there on a splurge. I was watching to see someone light a cigar with a hundred dollar bill but no one did. Bread was stale and or weird, and served with rock-hard butter. Our sides were very good but hard to enjoy along with my 22 oz steak. I felt like I was having a heart attack as I shoveled in the last bite; I hope they have an AED there. I can't really speak to the wine list because I was still hung over after being eighty-sixed out of Fogo the night before. Last thing - this place is super, super hard to find. After driving around and around the block we knew it had to be on, I almost drove back to our hotel and called a cab. There are no on-street signs indicating an entrance, the actual front of the restaurant is buried deep in the bowels of the hotel complex, and the streets themselves have no signs at the intersections are are swarming with traffic. So - when you get to the block between peachtree and lennox, just find an entrance to the parking garage and park. It's in there somewhere. Then you will see from the inside how to get in, and you will say "oh! I drove by that four times!"

This place is dee-licious. I recommend the seafood appetizer that you can share with everyone at your table, and of course the steaks. They do tableside service for many of the items, such as the loaded baked potato and some of the desserts. Like other reviewers have said, it does get loud here, even on the weeknights.

This place is right up there with the other expense account steakhouses around this area, but something about my experiences there leave me wanting just a little bit more. Maybe the service, maybe the atmosphere, I'm not sure. Everything about it was good - very good, even - but for a place this nice, in such a prime location, with such a reputation, and at that price point, I'm let wanting just a touch more. One of the best things about my meal here was an appetizer seafood platter that was brought out for the table of 6 to share. Oysters, shrimp, crab.... all of it really good. I was a little let down by my entree. I probably should have gotten a steak, but I had just had one at Bone's a few days before and I was recommended the triple cut lamb chops so I ordered that. I was impressed with it, but not overwhelmed as I was expecting. I sampled a dining partner's steak and it wasn't as good as I'd hoped, either. The sides were somewhat of a let-down as well, given the price point. Overall, it was a good experience with very good food. Very worthy of 4 stars, but all things considered, not a 5 star spot.

Three friends and I did a steak tour near the end of 2010. We went to six of Atlanta's best steak houses all in one night and got a NY strip medium rare at every place. Bone edged out the competition, and continues to be the Altanta standard of consistancy and excellence. Below are the group's results: Bones - 184 Chops - 180.5 (somewhat of a surprise) Rathbun's - 178 NY Prime - 174 Hal's - 167.5 Palm - 120 (it was not even close to the competition) NY Prime chars their steaks a bit more than the other establishments. The food is more of a 4.5 and the service is excellent.

We were here a few months ago, had reservations for a Saturday at 8 or 9pm and didn't have to wait at all which is great. The service was excellent as was the ambiance. My cesar salad came out with too much dressing and it wasn't all that fancy for a Steakhouse. I probably should've sent it back but I try not to be a pain. We ordered the bone-in ribeye which was an excellent steak cooked perfectly with a charred exterior. However I felt as though it could've been seasoned a bit more even with just salt and pepper. We also had the cheesy potatoes which were very, very good as well. It gets 3.5 stars as I expect perfection for the price of this place. I might come back but then again there are plenty of steak other places to try.

It's my favorite steakhouse in Atlanta- probably my favorite anywhere. The bar area is cigar friendly- which I love, but they have great ventilation if you don't. The steaks have a great char. The southwest creme style corn is amazing- as are the cheese mash potatoes. It's right next to the Ritz Buckhead, so you occasionally see some local celebs or in town CNN guests. The manager/co-owner is usually the maitre d' and he's great. By the way, this is not the same restaurant as Prime in Lenox.

Best bartender I have ever met, I believe his name was Chris and he is a whiskey expert. Oysters Rockafeller were fantastic. Pittsburgh style is the way to go. Had a cigar at the bar to cap the night. Great experience overall. Get here, stat.

Went to the bar for a drink before sitting down. Bartender was fine, but charged us $70 too much on our tab. Good thing we realized he charged us for the two people sitting next to us also. Then, we sat at our table and our server clearly didn't want to wait on us. Not sure where his attitude came from, but it was obvious he didn't like his job. He made a very rude comment to me, and that was all it took. We decided not to eat there. We were debating between there or Capital Grill and I guess we made the wrong choice. The operating partner cane out and was very nice and insisted on us not paying for the round of drinks we haspd and the oyster appetizer. That was nice, but extremely disappointing for a night we waited so long for to get out without the kids! Won't be back. Ever!

Uber expensive, but a great place if someone else is buying... which was the case when I visited last. We were treated with plenty of appetizers, wine and cocktails before the entrees were served. Service here is top notch. I had a seafood entree which was great... pardon me, I can't remember the name. The rest of the group had steaks. All seemed to be Pittsburgh style. So you might mention something to the waiter if you don't like too much charring.

What a great combo of excellent service and outstanding food...had the big filet with steak fries, onion rings, creamed spinach. Not much more to be said as it is well-reviewed. Would definitely go back.

When I hear someone say New York Prime I think #1! This place was perfect. I took my girlfriend's father there for Father's Day and wow was I impressed. The steak is cooked and seasoned perfectly. From the appetizers to the sides to the entree to the desserts. I was totally WOWed! That is what I call #1. You have to try it. I can't wait to go back!!!

Went there for a business meeting. The service is *VERY* attentive and overall very good and to the point. This is a true great steak house. The meet is fantastic and the sides are HUGE! The steaks were cooked to order and the sides were very good. The dishes are good and there is plenty. Had cesar for starter and it was very good. The wine selection is pretty good even if I have seen better wine cards elsewhere in the city. The restaurant is a bit noisy so it si a great hang-out place but less than ideal for business meetings where you would like to be able to hear what people across the table are saying. So for non business/relaxation - fantastic, for business I would go elsewhere, but miss the fantastic food.

I was contact by a representative of the restaurant who agreed the missteps were unacceptable and offered me a nice gift card to try them again. I do not live in ATL so wasn't much good but I thoroughly appreciate when someone tries to make sure a misstep is remedied. I am giving them an update of 4 stars for excellent customer service!

The food and service was excellent! The steak was cooked perfectly and I didn't even need my knife. Our waiter was attentive without being annoying. The restaurant was completely booked and the food was still served in a very timely manner. My only disaapointment on the menu is the lack of non seafood items as appetizers. A couple things to consider though. The restaurant is not easy to find. I got completely turned around and had to call the restaurant twice. My phone navigation and Mapquest were of no help because the restaurant is tucked behind the Ritz. There is no one to greet you when you walk in so arriving by yourself can be awkward. You have to walk around the bar to find the host stand. If you are sensitive to smoke make sure you ask to sit away from the bar where is smoking is allowed. The noise level was very high. The music was good though. This is not an ideal first date dinner place. You would basically have to sit in your date's lap to have a normal conversation. While the food was excellent, I don't know that I would go back. With so many other restaurants in the area something more convenient and not so noisy would better suit me.

I have been to New York Prime but only for cocktails...amazing the service you receive and also witness while visiting this pristine Atlanta Steak House...The Filets look amazing along with everything else they bring out. I recently was introduced to the Managing Partner and he is a class act! Meeting ownership like this makes you keep coming back. Thank you Bobby!

Steakhouse atmosphere, strong drinks, great steaks and good service. However, asked for steak tartar (not on the menu) from waiter and general partner. Both confirmed that this steak house does not serve steak tartar and we should order carpaccio. In my opinion, if you offer $55 per pound prime aged meat on the menu, and a patrons request it to be chopped into a $55 steak tartar appetizer, on a Thursday night when the restaurant is at 35% capacity, I would get the chef chopping.

How would you like a fabulous steak place, with a dining room that always delivers great food and impeccable service, plus a lively bar scene where you can quickly become an in-crowd regular? If that sounds tempting, then New York Prime is the place for you. Friday nights are a hit with those who like the sumptuous wood-paneled bar (full menu service is available), the dining room offers the perfect venue for both business dinners and cozy dates, and GM Bobby Donlan makes sure that every guest is satisfied. Try the lump crab meat appetizer if you're up for a tasty seafood treat, and make sure to order your steak just the way you like it - NYP aims to please. As for sides, the asparagus is always huge, delicious and perfectly steamed, and they make The Absolute Best mixed mushroom dish I've ever had. The Bartenders Extraordinaire (go to meet them and you'll know what I mean!) will take care of you, the valet service is in a class by itself, and after you've been once or twice . . . you might just find yourself in a New York state of mind!

This place is great! We went for the Cigar and Scotch night. I don't drink Scotch but my friends do. I smoke Cigars and they don't, so was perfect...I give them my Scotch, they give me their Cigars...Everybody's happy! I think the night was $60 per person...what a deal for this place. Bone-in Rib Eye, potatoes and creamed spinach with a big piece of cheesecake for desert!! Yum..

I was treated to a Birthday meal at New York Prime a few years ago. This excellent establishment is what turned me onto ordering my meat cooked medium, as opposed to the well-done beef I grew up eating. I'll always remember that succulent rib eye: juicy, tender, melting in my drooling mouth. I'll never go back to well done meat. Never. I also fell head over heels for my sides: Oysters Rockefeller and sauteed mushrooms. I was delighted by the pleasant waitstaff, too, who treated me with dignity and respect, even though a $200 bottle of wine wasn't purchased. New York Prime is a fabulous restaurant all-around.

Overall the food was very good, especially the lobster. However, I prefer other steakhouses in Atlanta for a good filet (Fleming's). I would definitely go just for the cheesecake though, it is to die for! Now, it's been a while since we have been back, but when we were there last, we were told they had their cheesecake flown in from Carnegie Deli in NY. It is by far, the best cheesecake I have ever eaten (not to mention the slice is huge and my husband and I ate off it for two nights)!

Visiting Atlanta I had heard great reviews for New York Prime. (Not to be confused with "Prime" just down the street. From the initial call to see dress code, which is casual, but most dress up. The bartender was very informative with the surrounding area and great for general conversation. We were seated and bread was brought to the table that was really good, they had a cinnamon/sugar flat crispy bread/cracker and a cheese one that were obviously home made and really great. We went straight for the entree because we wanted the 1 lb baked potato side. I ordered the NY Strip that was dry aged 30 days, my wife ordered the 30 day dry aged filet. Both came cooked to temp perfectly, however I think the Pittsburg style of cooking takes away from the dry aging flavor. All you taste was char, which is not a bad thing with a regular steak, but not a dry aged steak in my opinion. I have aged my own steak 30 days at 36 degrees F and the flavor is awesome. They lost this with charing the steak, but it was still great and obviously prime meat. NY Prime had a singer singing christmas songs along with traditional jazz/blues who was really good, he sounded like Louie Armstrong and just added to the great atmosphere. If you go to NY Prime, don't forget to ask to get your parking validated if you self park. My waiter who was a true professional at his job, neglected to ask if we self parked (because of our small dog in the car) so parking cost another $9.00 on top of a $200.00 bill. (included tip) Well worth the trip and money but they lose a star for the charring and not mentioning the parking validation.

First time at NY Prime was excellent. Really nice atmosphere-- actually a nice restaurant, not just trying to be one. Not sure how I ended up at a steakhouse and didn't order steak, but I ordered the sea bass and it was EXCELLENT. was with a group who all were fawning over the steaks, and my date tried my fish and was stunned that I actually had the best meal. so you might not think of ordering fish at a steak house but this one was really special.

Visit - Monday 05/11/2009, 6:45pm 5.0 Parking - Valet or self park in garage/deck. I always opt for self park. 3.5 Ambiance - Typical Old School Steakhouse feel. Dark Wood and really low lights with the smell of light Cigar. The bar gets REALLY Loud, so ask for a table far away from the bar. They also have a Keyboard player who sings which also increases the volume of this place. 5.0 Food - Their USDA Prime Beef is tasty and is cooked to perfection. The broiler adds a nice char to steak, all while keeping your beef tender and juicy underneath. My 22 ounce bone in rib-eye did not seem like it was 22 ounces before cooking, but maybe i was just really hungry, because I ate the whole thing looking for more. Father ordered the Sea Bass and enjoyed it a ton. Sides are a la cart of course and are $7/$11 for Single or Table size We did not order dessert (I'm on a diet) 4.5 Service - Charles, our server was very professional and attentive. His help was attentive with drink and bread refills. However they did take our steak fries away, and they were gone forever, without a question of "Would you like this wrapped?" 4.0 Value - I was not a fan at the size of my 22 oz steak. I was expecting more. No way that was 22oz! Also, the single serve sides are a bit small for the $7 tag. Same for the single Cesar Salad for $9. Of course its about Quality right. The quality was great. But not enough to bump it to a 5.0 Over All Grade - 4.4 Free Stress Free Parking Great Food & Service Very Dark and Very Loud at times. Prices are Par

Was there on 4/10/09 prior to hitting the Masters on Saturday. It was Good Friday so the joint was dead. The food was still great. We started with a seafood appetizer for 8 - Stone Crabs, Parmesan Shrimp, Steamed Shrimp, Lump Crab meat (and lots of it.) 3 sauces, Cocktail, Remoulade, and Crab. Fantastic. I had ordered a 10oz strip and they messed up my order and gave me a perfectly cooked petite filet mignon. I was not upset, I ate it because I couldn't bear to see it go to waste. We ordered sides for the table, Onion Rings, Hash Browns, Spinach, etc. It was superb. The live music was a little lame (Buffet and Steely Dan in heavy rotation) but I was there to eat and B/S with my posse about golf. A great night. Great service, good wine selection. They even rolled a 13lb lobster to our table on a little red wagon. Superb.

If you like to inhale cigar smoke with your meal then this is the place. The moment I walked in the door I could smell serious cigar smoke. Even when the waiter seated us in the rear the smoke permeated the room. I walked out immediately. Looked like a great place but unfortunately the smoke was overwhelming

Very good food! The steaks are good..well mine was. The service is impeccable, the sides are HUGE. I was in a group of four and we got 3 sides one of which no one touched because we were soo full. The last time I went was about 2 weeks ago after the Alabama game and it was pretty crowded. Even though we had reservations, there was still a long wait. But the food made up for that in the end! This is a very classy spot with good food and good service. With that being said, expect to PAY for the good food and good service

Came here with a friend on a Monday night while staying at the Ritz next door for a work meeting. I was a bit skeptical because I think it's part of a regional restaurant group. Good steakhouse vibe. Smell of cigars, and a great female singer with a keyboardist who sang Stevie Wonder, Sade, etc. Sat at the bar which wasn't crowded and Steven the bartender was helpful. Started off with shrimp cocktail--4 giant shrimp with cocktail and remoulade (both delicious) sauces. I had an 8-oz filet. My first bite was unreal, I think because I got a good dip in the butter on my plate. Nice char on the steak and perfectly cooked med-rare. There were some parts that I thought were a bit-over-charred, but it was fine. The sides held their own against the steak. Had grilled asparagus, southwest creamed corn (on the rec of the bartender), and hash browns with onion. I can't pick a fave, they all rocked. I left off the 5th star because I did notice that service to others may have been lacking. Saw a group of ladies wait for 15 mins before being approached, then after they were seated I don't think anyone ever came to greet them, so they got up and left after another 15 mins. Definitely check this place out.

I have been going here since it opened, I think!!! Everything is absolutely "prime"!!! Nowadays my fav is the tuna tartar with the little quail egg on top! The ambiance is ultra cool and chic, but not in a south beach way...more like a grown up Manhattan kinda way...i am always way comfy here and the people watching and fashions go right along with everything else!! It is a must on every trip to Hotlanta!!

Okay, here's the dilemma....what do you say about a restaurant that caters to one sense (taste) while assaulting another (hearing)? The food here was fine-equal to one of the better New York Steak houses. BUT, every night (so I'm told) there is this lame (and loud) lounge act performing that makes you think you're reliving your junior high school prom or,possibly, the bar mitzvah from Hell. Memo to management --go with your strength: food and shed the weak overhead- the music. When the room doesn't applaud,it should convey a message viz. that the brother-in-law should find employment elsewhere. Great steak, apps, wine list, etc. Shoot the keyboard player! Please?

Classic steakhouse. Delicious steak, Big family style sides, Humongous slices of cheesecake. I got the filet, which was cooked perfectly - juicy and tasty. Mashed potatoes were also good and were the giant asparagus. Service was good. A bit pricey as you would expect. I'm still waiting for the day when the giant lobster breaks his claw constraints, jumps off of the Radio Flyer and starts attacking patrons.

I'd say this is the best steakhouse in Atlanta. The service, as you've probably seen from numerous other reviews, is very attentive and friendly. Every time I get the Filet Mignon, which is the perfect size and well seasoned. I love coming back here, the location is convenient, and I would definetly recommend it! (:

This is how a real Steakhouse/Upscale Pub should be. Thick, hearty, perfectly-grilled steaks, the best appetizers you will ever have, and a bar atmosphere that screams good times (however, if you are smoke-sensitive, I suggest you get a table). I like to pop in for a Garlic Shrimp appetizer and nice tall glass of Pinot. Service is always spot on. A bit pricey, the old adage "you get what you pay for" has been truly personified by New York Prime.

I have a very simple review of my favorite "Steakhouse" Atlanta....22 oz bone in rib eye last night and a bottle of the Silver Oak Cab. Finished off with a foot high side of Chocolate Cake.....wow. Not sure if you can find a better "cow" in Atlanta or wine list. Service was impeccable to say the least. Ventilation from the Cigar Bar for the Dining Room works! 5 stars. Love it.

Around Christmas, this place is a smoke-filled zoo. Otherwise, there are always empty tables, even on weekends. The steak is overly and unabashedly charred - I think it's their way to disguise the average texture of the meat. The plates are also ridiculously hot, as to which our waiters proudly declared: "That's because they gets put in the broiler with the steak!" If only they would stock up on cast-iron skillets. Not a do-over.

Best Steak in Georgia, bar none. I have been to Bones, ect - none can compare in my opinion to New York Prime. Wonderful side dishes to compliment your steak (Cheezy mashed potatoes are among my favorites) all of which come in family size portions (some also in individual size) but all excellent none the less. Try to save room for dessert...they fly in cheesecake from NYC's Carnegie Deli twice weekly - need I say more - seasonally topped with Strawberries! A finish like this will make you forget about the $50 a person (at minimum) you will spend to enjoy a meal of this caliber.

There is no shortage of great steakhouses in Atlanta. I won't argue against anyone who vouches for Bones, Chops, Capital Grille, and Kevin Rathbun's Steaks. Personally, New York Prime edges out the competition. One reason is the service. Like at Kevin Rathbun's Steak, the personal attention and care at New York Prime was second to none. Our particular waiter was so ridiculously knowledgeable and absolutely enjoyed this job and that certainly was easy to see. It made it fun for us dining that night! The steak itself. We had both the filet mignon and the New York Strip. Like all the other steakhouses, these are the best cuts. They cooked it exactly as we requested. Perfection. Minimal sauce, the steak completely stands out on its own. No sauce needed. The thing is that I like a mild degree of char on my steak. If that's important to you, that's the factor that makes New York Prime stand out amongst the others for me. It is the best steak I've eaten. I savored every once of that steak and wasn't planning on leaving until I ate each and every bite! Another reason this place is my favorite: the New York cheesecake. I'm a New Yorker. It's hard to find good New York cheesecake. I had actually gone to New York Prime and Kevin Rathbun's on consecutive nights and these places were going neck and neck ... but the New York cheesecake, fresh from Carnegie Deli in Manhattan, was what sealed the deal. Add some strawberries and there you have a complete orgy of a meal. I had a very stressful and long day at work. That night at New York Prime remedied all of that. If one of your goals is to find Atlanta's best steak and steak experience, add New York Prime to the rotation. Check it out and form your own opinion. Chops was my personal favorite before I went here. But I went with an open mind and left being blown away.

First let me say I eat here all the time....I took a few customers from the UK here last night. Of the 4 steaks ordered 3 of the 4 were over cooked. They quickly recooked new steaks. The aps were perfect, amazing stone crab, shrimp and oysters. Service was perfect and the drinks were strong (like we like them). In their defense this must have been an off night in the kitchen. Manager comped two steak and bought us a round of drinks. They are normally a 5 but last night a 3.

Start the debate, but this is my choice for the best steakhouse in Atlanta. Let's face it, all steak house have very similar menus: creamed spinach, potataoes in different incarnations, and tree-size asparagus. but let us focus on the main event, the steak itself. At New York Prime all the steaks are Prime, aged cuts of beef. Not all restaurants can say that about their meat. A lot of restaurants also serve Beef filet and call it Filet Mignon--they are close but not the same. My favorite cut is the bone-in Rib eye steak. When meat is cooked on the bone, the flavor increase and they do it perfectly here. A Prime steak is the Cadillac of cuts, and very expensive. Service at New York Prime matches the qulaity of their food: Excellent. Reservations are strongly reccomended as well as taking out a second mortgage on your home, you will pay for the quality here!

Great food. Classless management. Try the Capital Grille instead.

Say hello to the best freakin' steakhouse in the A-T-L! I'm saying this and i don't even eat beef. I went out with a group of 9 and we first started out with the biggest lobster I've ever seen in my life. They literally wheel out the thing on a little red wagon (it's bigger than the size of my dog) and they lift it up for you to look at. After all that show and dance, the thing was in my stomach within 20 minutes (to you animal rights activists out there, sorry!). Oh my gawd, I love this type of seafood - not like those places where it's overly salted or when you crack open claws, a bunch of water leaks out. However, the two stars of the show were really a surprise... First place goes to.... the sea bass! First it was 3 times the size of any piece of sea bass I've ever seen in my life (everything here is "super sized" - even the asparagus stalks seem larger than normal) and it wasn't dry or tasteless like many sea bass are. I didn't' even know sea bass could come this juicy or this big. This thing was a definite home run, it MELTED in my mouth. Heavenly! A very close second place was the banana cream pie. I don't even like this dessert, but the crust was amazing, the cream was so light (though definitely not light on calories), but the real zinger is the delicate white chocolate shavings to add sweetness and flair. I'm in love...(and usually I hate steak houses). *sigh* After that ultimate culinary indulgence, tomorrow will be a salad and gym day. Ick!

I really don't mind paying too much for a great experience, so where is my GREAT EXPERIENCE! The bread basket was really good "and stop!" The best part of the meal was the Bread basket. The overly priced drinks were ok, the salad was ok, the dressing was pretty good, the soup was good and as for the overly priced steak hmmmmm was burned not blackened nor charred IT WAS BURNED. How do you make a rare steak turn into a piece of charcoal. The waiter said that he asked me if I liked charred meat I said yes, but I did not mean burn to hell. The second steak was the same, he did make a nice horseradish sauce for the cremated offering to the God of flame. Now for the the lounge lizard, I love Lounge Lizards "only God knows how much" I even thought about being one when I get old, But this one played mostly country music,,,, in the middle of Buckhead at a $90.00 a person dinner Steak House "Not for My Money!" Bones, Chops, or The Highland Tap is the way to go.

Ate there 8/22 and did not find it as good as say Capital Grill or Morton's. We were sat by a couple with a young child that was loud and in shorts. Both our steaks were over cooked. However they do have cheesecake from Carnegie Deli in NY!!!! Sides were good and large.

i heard the rumors and then -- like any good yelper -- checked the reviews, and yes, NY Prime rocks!! For what seems to be such a "high-end" joint, it was casual, relaxing and very little time to get salads and steaks! Now I was a bit offended my 2002 explorer didnt make the "in the front" parking pad (yes...they hid the poor thing in the garage), but they could have parked it at phipps and asked me to walk for this steak! simply wonderful, and the service was just as top notch! didnt get to enjoy a cigar -- but that is a must for next time!!
