Wow, shocked I'm the first to write about this place but will claim it Yes it is mine! A smallish chain of about twenty stores most of them in Georgia that has been slapping together salads and sandwiches for years. My Friends Place keeps it simple wheat, white or pita pick your meat or salad and it is made on the spot and your ready to go in about five. If you want frills let them know otherwise Tuna on wheat means exactly that Tuna = Bread. Prices usually run between $4-6.00 for sandwiches and chips or cup/bowls of soup are available too. MFP closes at 3:00 pm and caters.

Grilled chicken mushroom melts and tuna and avocado salads all day!! This is my favorite lunch spot on the block. Located in the corner of the plaza next to a massage place. Just FYI because It's easy to miss.

I could not put my finger on what was off about this place. But I kept coming back because I've loved the fresh tastiness of other My Friends locations for a long time. I love the elderly folks who make up most of the customers at lunch time. I guess they live in a nearby retirement place. And they casually hang out and chat. I had a throw-back moment when a guy pulled out his flip phone....But where are all of the younger adults who usually like the food at My Friends Place? I just figured it out yesterday. The owner/manager is not always around. But when he is, things are not good for me. Another Yelper here overheard him going off about some woman and using an extremely derogatory name in discussing her. Twice, I've seen this guy be unkind and edgy to the young lady behind the counter. Apparently this is some kind of attempt to provide her with instructions. I hope that she quickly goes to work somewhere else and learns what it's like to have a kind boss. I feel repressed anger in the air. I think the Gods are sending me a message. And that is, "Don't go back there. Things might erupt and a chair might be hurtling accidentally at your head when you try to come in through the front door."

I didn't have a bookmark for this one but always wanted to try it and glad I did! Nice staff, great sandwiches (large too), didn't try any sides but had the smaller chocolate chip cookies and they were oozzy with chocolate and moist! My Friends Place is simple and economical! No frills and fanciness just plain old good service and great eats. I had something called a California but was torn between the chicken salad and a few other items. Yes I was THAT person holding up the damn ordering line while I made up my mind,...LOL So, I kinda meshed those items on Pita bread and uuumm umm DE'lish! I had a side of Lays BBQ chips and an Arnold Palmer (one of my fav summer beverages:-) I am definitely going back and should thank my co-workers, Michael for treating me and the King for his recommendation......

Today was one of those unusual days where my lunch plans fell through and I hadn't packed a lunch, so by 11AM I was searching the internet for cheap but good and quick lunch options near my office. I came across this place and decided to try it out after seeing on the menu I could get fed for under $10. The woman at the counter was friendly and very knowledgeable, as soon as I mentioned it was my first time there she took the wheel and explained they are known for their chicken salad (tuna is also good option), that they do wraps as well, and asked what kind of sandwich I was looking for. When I told her I liked turkey she suggested the turkey reuben sandwich and a couple others options. I decided on the turkey sandwich. She walked me through the options (what kind of mustard, cheese, other veggies to add, would I like the bread toasted) and had my sandwich ready to go in about three minutes. The sandwich was very good, kind of like if I had gone to the grocery store and gotten deli meat, cheese, veggies, bread, and put it all together myself. It was also a nice touch to have the bread toasted to add a little extra crunch! The combo (sandwich, chips and drink) was $7.52 and it took about 5 minutes to order and wait for the sandwich to be prepared. Bottom line: it looks like My Friend's Place will be added to my list of go-to sandwich shops.

I discovered this place on accident last week, during a really hectic lunch break from work, after having turned into the wrong shopping center. I gave it a go, and it definitely has its pros and cons. The biggest and most important thing, of course, is the food, and it's a big "pro." Great, fresh ingredients with a really nice range of choice on the menu. I got a Californian Wrap (sun-dried tomato flavored), which was pretty delicious and pretty pretty. (You don't really expect attractive food out of a cheap deli -- but look, it was a really nice wrap, what can I say...) Unfortunately, this place was absolutely dismal to spend time in. I literally walked into the place smack in the middle of a weekday lunch hour, and it was dead silent. No ambient chatter, no music playing outside of a faint buzz from the kitchen, and the tables were only one-third full -- mostly older people and a few solitary businessmen. There's no decor to speak of, really; the place looks like it was set up as a temporary shop, with stacks of unused lawn chairs in the corners. Still, the food is quality enough to warrant stopping by this place. If you're in the area and craving excellent deli noms, get your food to go.

I have mixed reviews for this restaurant. Why? Well, I'm a fan of their sandwiches and definitely recommend them. However, the restaurant itself is sad. The decor is out of date and, I agree with the other review that said it looked as if they set up temporary shop. When I walked in, there was no one inside customer wise- just me, however, there were four employees (one man and one woman at the counter and two ladies behind that were making food/cleaning). As soon as I opened the front door and walked inside the restaurant, I immediately could hear this man in deep conversation with the woman describing a situation he's involved in with a random person. He was in the midst of saying this random person is a bitch when he turned around and saw me approaching the counter. He asked if I was ready and I said 'not yet'. He turned around and continued telling this story only a filtering it slightly better. I finally interrupted him and said that I was ready to order. He then turned around and started fussing on his cell phone for what felt like a good minute with a smug look on his face as if he was telling me 'You wait on me!"...Well, I ordered and paid. I went to walk away and politely reminded/asked if I could have my cup for my drink. He took my drink and slammed it on the counter and walked away briskly. Yikes. I have no clue what I walked in on, but as a customer, I was uncomfortable and felt the heat and attitude like I was somehow a problem for being a paying customer during their open hours. My sandwich, once it arrived, was good, but, my side of potato salad was old and smelled funny. About half way through quickly eating my sandwich, the staff started vacuuming and putting away chairs as if they were about to close even though their sign listed they were open for another twenty five minutes. It was odd. I don't think I will visit this location again. I definitely didn't feel welcome.
