The food is consistently good and pretty well priced. The good thing about this place is that they have a bar.

Mellow Mushroom is such a great place to go for great food. Unlike most big box dining places, I always feel that the quality at Mellow Mushroom is really outstanding. Don't even begin to think that all they serve is pizza because Mellow Mushroom has an awesome variety of sandwiches that will rock the hair off of your "you know what." Also, if you're looking to eat healthier than your friends that you'll be dining with, they have some amazing salads and a tempeh sandwich that is to die for. The last few times I've gone I got the tempeh sandwich and it is absolutely out of this friggin' universe. How can something so damn delicious be so healthy for you? That shit is so good I want to slap my mama. If you're looking for a good, fun option and still trying to be healthier, this place is a great place to go. Also, if you feel like being just a bit decadent, go ahead and order a small batch of hot pretzels and beer cheese. That right there will make it all better.

This location of Mellow Mushroom can be found at 931 Monroe Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30308 in a small shopping center anchored by Trader Joe's. When I lived in L5P I visited this are primarily for the Highlander nearby (TJs wasn't open yet) - parking is frankly pretty crappy in this shopping center, but you can usually find a spot if you come at the right in-between time. Traffic is also pretty bad on Monroe during evening rush hour, however it's a fairly good time to drop in and have a draft or two to wait things out a bit. I realized I was accumulating a lot of photos for nearby MM locations so this the first review of several. The Mellow Mushroom recently underwent some updates to decor so some of these photos are dated. The pizza, however is still the amazing oven-baked, multi-grain crust made with enthusiasm and expertise that anyone living in Atlanta for any length of time has come to enjoy. Mellow Mushroom offers up something you don't usually see - a smooth blend between small-time-pizza-joint and consistency in product. I do miss the earlier pies and personality, but some of the locations preserve a bit of the latter more than others (a good example is the location in Emory along Lavista Rd). This location has a bit more of a Midtown vibe with some classic rock thrown in (I never thought I'd think of the Dead as classic rock, but there you go). The menu items have changed a little over the years - when I started eating at Mellow Mushroom there were only a handful of locations - now they are ubiquitous covering multiple states. The Midtown location has some fine craft beer examples that you won't find at other locations - that's one thing I like about Mellow, they will alter their offerings a bit to suit the locals. You'll find some great neon on the exterior and blue neon around the drink cases. The service here in general is very good, although when it's either very busy or very slow, it can be hard to get served if your sitting on the patio. My favorite Mellow Mushroom pies: Kosmic Karma or the Magical Mystery Tour - the pizza here and at all MM locations are a standout - perfect blend of whole wheat and refined flour with a douse of olive oil and sprinkle of parmesan cheese. I can eat this every day. Favorite beer served at this location: Founders Centennial IPA -- John (Longer review posted to my food blog)

The food was great, as always, but this review is for the service. My friends and I visited this location while it was EXTREMELY busy, and they were short-staffed. They made that clear to us, and we had the opportunity to go elsewhere, but we weren't in a rush and are patient people. When we were seated, our waitress made it clear several times that they were swamped. I completely understand how stressful that must have been, and she was running around like crazy trying to make sure everyone was happy, but her comments bordered on complaints and I started feeling a little uncomfortable. I felt guilty for being there and making her life worse, and waitstaff should be trying to make people feel welcome and not like a burden. But she tried to be peppy and engaging, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. But then it was time to order. I have a wheat allergy that I discovered two years ago, and Mellow Mushroom's gluten free pizza is the main reason I like them so much. But when I ordered my gluten free pizza, she asked "diet or allergy?" That's a normal question I'm used to, no harm no foul. I told her it was an allergy, then she gave me a slightly disbelieving look and asked if I would DIE if I had wheat. I said no, because my allergy presents itself differently than anaphylactic shock. Then she blatantly said, "Well, then that's not an allergy. An allergy is when you die, so..." I was so shocked, I didn't know how to respond right away. After a second I responded, "An allergy also means I have to spend hours on the toilet after eating it." Which was probably TMI, but I was so shocked and kind of offended by her obnoxiously denying my very real allergy. She proceeded to say, "I get that, but HERE an allergy is when you die. For example, is it okay that our cooks use the same gloves that they use for other pizza?" I was starting to feel attacked and belittled, so I just said "yes" even though that would most likely be an issue. I think she may have picked up on my mood and changed her tune a bit. She said that the cooks can change their gloves and make my pizza in a different part of the kitchen, and I told her that would be better for me. In the end, the food was awesome, and the company was great, so I had a good time. But that waitress made me feel like such an unwelcome, idiot pest. I get that the gluten free craze is annoying to servers, but it's not a craze for me--it's life. I never mind it when severs ask me if my gluten free order is due to an allergy or a dietary choice, because that's important information. But if I say it's an allergy, just believe me instead of grilling me about it and claiming that it's not a "real" allergy because I don't keel over. Edit: I should edit this to say that I haven't had this issue at other locations. Every time I've ordered a gluten free pizza at a different Mellow Mushroom, it's just written down with a smile like every other order. That was one of the reasons I was so surprised by this waitress' attitude on the matter.

Pizza was good but our waitress was horrible. As soon as we sat down she wanted our order. We needed time, but then didn't see her for 15min. We ordered mac and cheese for our 18month old and she put the scalding hot plate right in front of her. It took a good 10 min for Mac and cheese to cool off. Our pizza came and about 10 min later the spinach salad I ordered. I said I didn't want salad anymore. She didn't take it off the bill until we asked her too. She should not be in the service industry.

I love this local favorite as it's walking distance from my house, but also because it's super casual and just laid back. The Midtown location is great as there is an awesome patio and 24 OZ PBR - lol Anyway, this is a favorite as the pizza and food are always consistently good. The toppings on the pizza are quite generous, but that definitely increases the price. Typical Large with 3 toppings is around $28 which is high, but worth it given the quality. Typically, I get the standard crust (medium density) (not thin crust), red sauce, mushrooms, sausage, and onions. It's delicious!! I love that there are so many options in general including vast beer selection. Also, you can't go wrong with the Hoagies - love the tofu one!! There are a lot of Mellow Mushrooms everywhere so if you are in the mood and want a totally chill atmosphere, definitely stop in.

Great location right in the heart of midtown. They have outdoor dining which is always a plus, with music playing through the speakers. I appreciate that they offer gluten free options, and they are really fresh and delicious. I would recommend and will be back.

Really enjoy this location on Monroe Dr. and the reality is that not all Mellow Mushrooms are the same. Staff here is very welcoming and friendly. My kids love the garlic knots (me too of course). Their pizza is always loaded with toppings and I like that it's not a "heavy" pizza, it's not light either but it's just right. Highly recommended.

Mellow Mushroom is far and away my favorite pizza in Atlanta. Yes, I know places like Antico and Fellinis sometimes attract more appeal, but for me, the soft, flavorful crust at MM is my pinnacle of pi. Strangely, the hummus they make is freaking fantastic. They use the same dough for their pita, which is all soft and delicious. I wouldn't have expected a pizza chain to have such delicious hummus. Same for their spinach and artichoke dip. EAT IT. The pretzels, the house salad ... it's all great. Honestly, everything could be boiled down to their bread/crust. If you don't like it, you probably won't like most of the menu options. It's like a sourdough with a light cornmeal crunch . I think its the best thing ever, but, hey man, opinions are opinions.

Amazing pizzas and appetizers. Service was excellent, lots of seating options for 4 PM happy hour. Reasonable prices, the stuffed portobello mushroom was out of this world- balsamic glaze was terrific!

  • Julia O.

Slow service, horrible food. We had to wait 20 minutes just to get our water and it wasn't refilled for another hour. My plate looked unappetizing and didn't taste good at all.

  • Mark G.

The food was 5 stars. The service was a zero. Rounded down due the attitude and plain rudeness of my waiter!!! Defiantly stick with the TOGO option, hopefully order can be made online as to avoid talking directly to one of their rude "human"employees.

Do not go here unless it's for take out! Go to the mellow mushroom on peachtree tree instead! The service people at this location are just rude! Way different experience at other mellow mushroom on peachtree go there!

Mellow mushroom was good. I think it all depends on eat type of pizza you get. Me and my ever indecisive girl friend attended this restaraunt and got half bbq chicken which was average and half veggie which was exceptional. As for the bbq side the sauce was very over powering and the chicken was eh. The veggie side was good from the Sauce to the green stuff on top which idk what it was lol overall a good experience with pizza.

  • Amanda R.

My boyfriend and I stopped here to grab pizza with some friends because they have a gluten free pizza option. Unfortunately for the price ($20 for a personal size), I can't recommend it.

    (3)
  • Sarah B.

Got the veggie pizza, removed tofu and added bacon and sausage. Sounds great right? It was okay. The veggies introduced a little too much moisture and the crust was soggy and floppy. The veggies themselves weren't fresh and tasted previously frozen. Our pizza cost way too much for the quality.

Meh. I've experienced better. I've rated this place before, but the score continues to go down... I love pizza, especially Mellow Mushroom, but the customer service here is just the WORST. This time, my friend and I came in around 8pm, and waited for 45 minutes for a small cheese pizza and a small mighty meats pizza. It wasn't until we kept both staring at the waiter, until he came over to mention our pizza was coming out of the oven in a minute. There was no acknowledgment about the wait which was the worst part... The restaurant had about 5 small other tables seated at most (inside) and 2 folks at the bar. I'm disappointed I spent any money there.

This restaurant cannot handle even an average customer volume and prioritizes "to-go" orders so much that by the time your pizza arrives, you will have autodigested your stomach

I love my neighborhood Mellow Mushroom. One of my go-to places for gluten free pizza, I know my pie will arrive safe from any cross-contamination issues. The GF crust doesn't begin to compare to the regular crust, but loaded with toppings, like the House Special, it makes a great meal - or three. Since my Celiac diagnosis, I can no longer enjoy MM's phenomenal pretzels, regular pizzas or hoagies, but I will always have fond memories. Recently, I checked in via Yelp and unlocked a free cheese bread offer. Great, right? Not for me, since bread is poison to my digestive system. But Emily, my stellar server, offered to bring me a plate of hummus with some celery stalks instead. That's what I call service! If you like hummus, and you haven't tried it here, please do. It's delicious!

I would prob give this place 2.5 stars if possible. Walking in someone told me they would be right with me and after a couple of minutes a guy came up and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. (No greeting or anything) I said inside and he then told me about their two available booths. Then he handed me the menus. I guess they don't seat you there. I was given two adult menus. My son is 6 years old. So I asked for a kids menu and then the guy came and stood by the table til I finished looking and was ready to order. Which is a great way to make someone feel pressured and like an inconvenience. I checked in and realized I could get a free cheesy bread. Since I had already ordered my food I waited for five minutes and decided not to track down my waiter or look for him anymore. Walked up to the bar and said that I wanted to redeem it but couldn't find him. She said she would get on it. After that he seemed to warm up to me. The avocado sandwich I got was really good (it doesn't come with a side unless you ask for it but I didn't). My son got the pretzels which is basically two big pretzels, marinara, and apples (or broccoli). I didn't see if they had single slice ordering and didn't ask. The kids menu is limited. I saw someone comment that this place is dirty. The bathrooms were dirty but I think the employees were fine. A guy in the kitchen had a really long beard which I thought was against health code but that may be wrong.

We came in a group of 10+ people and it took a little bit of time to get seated and menus before us, but overall, the service was good. They gave us pitchers of water and drinks to refill whatever. The menu can be a bit confusing during the lunch hour as there is a separate small lunch menu hidden in the overall menu but it's unclear what size pizza the specials come with (it's an extra large pizza slice btw). I ended up splitting a small house special pizza. It's a 10" pizza and comes with a LOT of toppings. If you don't like toppings, you might want to try something with fewer toppings as it can be a bit overloaded. But it certainly is tasty with a lot of crust. Also, courtesy of yelp (Thanks, YELP!), I got some cheese bread. I was expecting a small slice of bread but it was actually a long loaf of cheese bread. It was fantastic with the marinara sauce and came with a touch of marinara sauce and a touch of sesame seeds. After leaving, I didn't feel compelled to go back but I also wouldn't avoid this place like the plague. It's a solid 3 star restaurant. You know what you get and your quality range isn't going to vary too much.

This place was great! It was my first time at Mellow Mushroom, since we don't have one where I am from. We ordered a small pizza, the small Greek salad and 10 wings. The food was fantastic, cooked to order, hot and fast. The server was attentive and offered great beer suggestions when our first 5 choices were out of rotation (which is why I took a star away. You think they would just have a menu with the most updated drafts available instead of half the drinks on the menu not available and a stained typed up 3x5 card of their "add ons"). Maybe since we ate at an off time, we were sat quickly and served quickly. Not sure it would be so during dinner rush. All together, a great location with parking available outside and a nice gated patio area allowing you to chow down under the open sky. Would definitely recommend for the food.

This is my first time at this MM location and after my pleasant experience, I now prefer this location. I absolutely loved our waitress Emily (who has been working at this location for about 6 years). She greeted us with a smile and was very attentive throughout our dining for lunch. She was also helpful, as she made sure to notify me that it was best that I create a salad as oppose to choosing a salad and then ordering additional toppings as it would be a cheaper option. She was also very knowledgeable of the menu and suggested options that my lunch partners liked a lot. Emily has such a warming spirit, I'll be requesting to be in her area every time that I go. SN: Try the Build Your Own Salad: Spinach, Parmesan Cheese, Avocado, Shrimp, Jalapenos, and Caesar Dressing... DIVINE!

I live very close to this location, so I come here quite a lot. My dine in experience has always been excellent, with great, prompt service. Takeout, however, is a different story. On multiple occasions I've ordered a pizza for pick up, came in 30 minutes later (they say it will be ready in 20) and had to sit for 30 more minutes in an empty restaurant while watching several staff members sit around doing nothing. As a member of the food service industry myself, I understand that different people are hired for different tasks, but watching an employee consume a huge flagon of beer over a thirty minute period while waiting for my food is both irritating and confusing: why fill a half-gallon jug when you have access to cold, foamy beer right from the tap? Are mellow mushroom employees allowed to drink on the job? That said, all of my dine in experiences have been wonderful.

Holy Shiitake Pie! That's all you need to know. Just kidding! I can't believe I've never been to Mellow Mushroom until this past weekend. The crust is just perfect; flavor is amazing; and service is outstanding. So about the Holy Shiitake Pie - olive oil & garlic base, shiitake, button, portobello, caramelized onions, mozzarella, montamore, drizzled garlic aioli & black truffle oil - oh my goodness, perfection!! I can't remember the last time I was this excited about anything let alone pizza (I was never a pizza fan) I stopped by this location after Dogwood Festival with 8 other people since it's walking distance from Piedmont park (so you can go for a run and then reward yourself with PIZZA! lol) The place was packed but our server did such an amazing job. There's plenty of parking in the private lot. Free cheesebread appetizer with Yelp check-in ;)

The food was ok. We had a bottle of Mascato which was good. I enjoyed the weather. The only thing is that the food is a little pricey. Waitress was nice. I will come back here.

I love this mellow mushroom! The food is great and the location is perfect, with a large patio and full bar.I have been coming to this location for years, I appreciate the familiar and friendly faces of the staff, they remember what I like to order and are always welcoming and accommodating. Their beer selection is very extensive, with a full bar which is especially nice on those beautiful patio days. I have noticed they are doing some nice renovations adding some colorful artwork which really brightens up the place making it warm and inviting.I would highly recommend this location, I have had nothing but great experiences here. It is a busy location on the weekends being across from piedmont park during the springtime festivals and all,so if you are not uptight and in an extreme hurry come here with friends have a nice cold drink and yummy food and relax.

Terrible, extremely slow service. Staff isn't just grunge they are actually DIRTY-- dirty hands and nails. Guy in kitchen is wiping nose on back of hand and then touching food. YUCK YUCK YUCK. Pick another location.

First of all, I hate mushrooms unless of course, they make me trip. However, mellow mushroom is bomb. Every time I walk in I feel like I am dusted. This place was definitely started by a hippie who loved psychedelics. The beer selection is on point and getting blackout drunk is no problem while dinning inside. Redskin potato, funky Q chicken, buffalo chicken, mighty meaty, all the pizza's are delicious. Yes this is a chain but as far as chains go, it's one of the best. I recommend everybody get high as fuck and mow down on some mello mush

Nice place for specialty pizzas and subs Their crust is unique and isn't a sponge of oil like a lot of other places. We got the meat lovers and the greek pizza. The meat lovers had a good variety of meat but I personally think it could have used a little bit more sauce or cheese. The Greek was good, came with a side of tzatziki sauce which gave the pizza good flavor too. I had one of their Italian heros too. They have good "Made to Order" calzones and subs too.

I really enjoyed this pizza! The prices here are not inexpensive, it was $13 for a small veggie pizza with 4 slices. I shared with a friend, as we were only looking for a small bite, but the small is definitely not for 2 people. The veggie pizza on the menu is really elaborate, complete with tofu, but we found out they have another veggie that's off-menu which was more of what we wanted: broccoli, mushrooms, tomato, bell peppers, olives and onions. Perfect. Fresh toppings and tasty crust, which I usually don't eat. Although this isn't ideal for an inexpensive bite, I'll come back the next time I'm in the mood for a great veggie pizza.

This is a great local pizza joint (and, really, it's much more than pizza) that has been a staple of the community since I was in college at Tech. Great stop before or after a movie at Midtown Promenade or if you're going to Piedmont Park. The specialty pies are really yummy--my favorite right now is the Mellowterranean or maybe the Maui Waui. I used their catering once, and it was a real hit for my party.

Free cheese bread with yelp check in! Best spinach dip I've ever had. Decent meatball sub. Shitake mushroom pizza and the red potato pie are awesome. Ruby red bingo is fun but seriously for adults. Most of the reviews for this location says the service is terrible. I had an excellent experience last night. She was attentive and gave good recommendations. My glass never went empty. My Gf ordered a half shitake mushroom pizza and half red potato pie, the kitchen messed up the order so she brought two pizzas. We didn't even have to ask or look disgruntled. She had it taken care of before she even came to the table.

I am very thankful that they are willing to provide an alternative pizza for the dairy, nut allergic person. It turned out pretty good. Of course I miss cheese and I really wish they could consider using Follow your heart instead of daiya which uses coconut (no good for the nut allergic). The staff is super friendly. I've also had a sub sandwhich from here and it was really good.

I really like Mellow Mushroom. The decor and atmosphere scream of a good time to be had. The pizzas are pretty good and service is alright. I love to get their mushroom club and the salads are pretty on-spot. I'm also a fan of the cinnamon and honey pretzels they have available. They don't have the best pizza, but I will find myself at Mellow Mushroom again.

we went to this weekend. A bit pricey for what you get. The food was tasty, the costumer service was good and the variety on their menu was good especially for vegetarians. They should think about upgrading their TV sets cause them old shits they got hanging on the walls are pre HDTV era. All in all a nice experience but one that will wait a minute to be repeated.

This was one of my better experiences at this location. In the past the service has been subpar. Today the service was great. The pizza was quick, hot and very good. The Maui Waui (sp) was great.

Just ok. I'd prefer Fellini's both for slices and for freshly made whole pies. The dough here isn't my style. And in general, isn't special enough to be noted. I feel like they put extra butter and parm on it to compensate its average-ness.

So, apparently I totally have pizza on the brain this week! (I hope that's not what the Boyfriend wants for lunch tomorrow - or maybe I do . . . ) Finding myself in midtown this afternoon and remembering my lovely slice from the Brookhaven MM yesterday (and the free wi-fi at all locations! Save on those T-Mo minutes!), I caved. Today, I added mushrooms for a veggie boost. While it's fun to get a whole pizza, I never finish even an individual one and I'm not so good about eating left-overs, so while it's not as aesthetically pleasing to just get a slice, it's definitely a better value/deal. Note- this store serves slices till 3pm, vs the 2pm at other locations. I miss living in this part of town sometimes and this friendly MM is one of the reasons! Stop by when in the 'hood.

  • Laura P.

Every time I eat at MM, I ask myself two things, 1.) Wow this is decent pizza, why don't we eat here more often. 2.) why and the hell did this cost $50? I know, I know, I have no one to blame but myself. I tend to dismiss the menu prices because, I expect most pizza joints to be in the same price range. Savage, felinis, etc... MM is damn expensive.. in this economy, I'm going to stick with my $30, pizza and beer dinner. Felinis is far better too

Ugh, why do I keep coming back here. It's never good, ever. Mediocre at best. The last time was the worst. I walked in at 1pm, waited at the front for a while, and waited some more. Eventually I just sat myself. A waitress came over, very friendly, got me a drink and menu's and then said "I'll be back". I checked my watch so I can tell you it was 25 minutes later someone took our order. Not because she came over because she felt it was time, I'd been waving my arms in the air, calling on wait staff in my area and trying to catch people attention for the bulk of the time. Eventually we got the attention of a guy who told us "uh, I was told to clock out, I can get your waitress though". 5 minutes later he came back and said "we're pretty busy, I was told to clock back in". Our food then took longer than normal for arrive. The food was ok, it's always just ok. Doesn't matter if I get pizza, calzone or a sandwich it's always so so. I always forget that I hate high gluten crust anything. I was raised on flour, my daddy ate flour and his daddy ate flour. So I'll pass on high gluten crust whenever I can. The next time someone says "oh, Mellow Mushroom is down the street" hopefully I'll remember that I don't care for this place.

So I'm visiting Georgia and my girl tells me about this mellow mushroom and tells me to try it out so on are way to a show I ordered a take out a calzone with pepperoni and mushrooms , The best calzone I've probably ever had. It's a small pizza that's rolled into a calzone it was pretty big definitely fills one person had a nice crunch too, also my friend got the turkey cheese sub and she enjoyed it I'll probably be stopping by again before I leave ATL it's that good !! It's a little pricy for pizza but well worth money for good food !

Echoing the comments of several others, the customer service at this location is the absolute worst. I hadn't been back to this MM location in about a year despite living only 2 blocks away. Instead, I have gone to other MM locations (Downtown, Brookhaven) and have received solid customer service and quality food. My female companion suggested trying this Midtown location again because we couldn't quite remember why we hadn't been back in so long. Within seconds, we were immediately reminded. We walked in to a 70% full restaurant and took a spot at the host stand up front. There was nobody manning the stand. After 15 seconds, a waiter walked by and said someone would be right with us. Another 30 seconds later, that same waiter walked by us again as we were still standing there. He said/did nothing. A full 3 minutes after getting there, we were still standing at the host stand as countless waiters and waitresses walked by without even acknowledging our presence. Finally, we had enough and walked out. Talk about deplorable service. One more fun fact: Every Wednesday (as I found out the hard way about a year ago) there is an X-rated transvestite "comedian" who yells obscene jokes into a microphone. The jokes involve various lewd topics such as male bodily fluids. I find it hard to believe that MM's corporate folks would condone this type of language or think that it is a good image for their brand. I just really don't understand what the deal is with this location.

Did you know: Mellow Mushroom was started by two Georgia Tech grads nearly 40 years ago? The original store, which no longer exists, was located on Spring Street, close to Tech. There are now over 100 locations across the country. I was first introduced to this chain while at Tech and this is the location my friends took me to. Midtown Mellow Mushroom is totally groovy. The name of the restaurant aptly describes the theme here with its colorful, ambient neon lighting, psychedelic Alice in Wonderland-inspired artwork, and bright orange and lime green painted walls. There are sculptures of mushrooms, all shapes and sizes, scattered about -- some with freaky, human-like faces. The logo for this place is a mushroom twirling pizza dough with one hand and holding up a peace sign with the other. Very hippie. Maybe they should rename this place Magic Mushroom. I've only had the pizza at this location, but you can get salads, calzones, and hoagies too. I've had the hoagies at the Powers Ferry location and they are good. You can order pizzas small (10 inches), medium (14), and large (16). There are about a dozen different pizzas you can choose from on the regular menu and they have a special seasonal pizzas as well. You can also build your own pizza with their bevy of ingredients (meats, cheeses, and veggies & fruits). My favorite pizzas are: Mighty Meaty - red sauce base, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, ham, and bacon Philosopher's Pie - olive oil and garlic base, steak, portobello mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and Kalamata olives with provolone, mozzarella, and feta cheese The Mighty Meaty is a hearty, thick crust pizza. The pie just oozes with mozzarella and that's what makes the pizza for me. The cheese is really delicious. With plenty of meat, it makes for a fulfilling and satisfying meal. The Philosopher's Pie is another thick crust pie. I couldn't stop eating this one until I started feeling pain from eating too much. I was addicted to the olive oil and garlic. The servers are friendly, though the pizza can take a while to come out, even on nights when they don't seem particularly busy. Parking is usually not a problem, though the spaces are tight in the Midtown Promenade shopping center parking lot.

This is my local pizza joint, they are great for delivery or eating in the dining room. There is also a decent patio for when the weather is appropriate. This Mellow has a pretty nice beer selection. It's one place in town where you can usually find all the Sweetwater brews on draught. Pizza is good, but like many pizza restaurants, you may have better results depending on who is working/how busy it is. I like my pies cooked well done. Try the hoagies, also good. Nice salads as well. If you get the chef, be sure to ask for the spring mix, otherwise you get iceberg. All in all, this is a good place, and the location can't be beat. The staff are pretty nice, and have done pretty extraordinary things to fix issues I've had. For instance, I once ordered a pizza and had it delivered. After several hours, the pizza never arrived. I called the store back (after closing). They apologized that the woman on the phone had written down the wrong phone number, so they couldn't find my apartment. Candy the manager offered a free pizza for my trouble. She even comped me a beer while I was waiting for my pizza the next time. Treatment such as this really makes me more likely to give an establishment my money in the future. Check out their trivia schedule. They also offer drag bingo once a week. I eat here a few times a month, and will continue so long as I'm in the neighborhood.

Everyone seems to know this place for its pizza, but I go here for the hoagies! This Mellow is as good as any, and I think I prefer it to the one on Peachtree. The staff is always pleasant, but not overbearing. I think my waiter last time was strung out, but hey, he did his job well, so I won't complain. Try the tempeh hoagie. I never liked tempeh until I tried it here. I still don't make it myself. One of the few things I just can't find it in me to master! I like to get a small salad and half hoagie. The salads are a good size. If I have a dining companion who also wants salad, we usually split a large one. We've gotten the Greek with field greens instead of iceberg and I highly recommend it! I always get the Esperanza dressing, but then remember upon tasting that I think it may have anchovies in it. Note to self: look up Esperanza! It's casual, it's fun, it's a little bit funky. Mellow is the kind of place that you can go and split a pitcher, or you can take your 5 yr old cousin. It walks that line, and it walks it well.

This locations service is great!! Much faster than some of the other locations we have been too. The red skin potato pizza we ordered was delish, as was the cheese bread & caesar salad!! Our server was friendly and attentive. .

Not only do the have the best pizza in Atlanta, but the service is amazing its literarily feels like you're family from the moment you walk in. The employees are some of the most up beat and spirited servers I've ever came in contact with. Great Food! Great Service! Also try the pretzels!!! 9 big ones for 7 Bucks!!

service is bleh but this place has the best house pie in Midtown esp for the price. white pizza was avg pepp was avg vegg was avg ham n pineapple is avg the sub w avocado mushrooms and turkey and sprouts is delicious beers ok, and a lot of heavyset drag queens seem to come here..? which is a good sign, i like to see chubby people at a restaurant, usually means good food and good portions.

It was ok, we went in with a group and the service was great! I've had better Hawaiian pizzas though, didn't like the ham on top. It looked like cut slices of sandwich ham.

My husband and I went to eat with a friend. We were looking for something chill and laid back, so what better then to have mellow in the name. The first thing that caught me was the crazy colors when you first walked in. The second thing was that they had a full bar, which was a little odd because they close too early to be considered a night time hangout. The men started with greek salads - nice looking salad. Then they had BBQ pizza and Hawaiian Pizza - the pizza is just a little doughy, but flavor is nice. I made my own salad (awesome!) and loaded it with veggies, tofu, and vegan cheese! (this is the reason for the 4 stars) I always want to pick and choose what comes on my salad and now I can without any of the kitchen staff rolling their eyes at me. Which brings me to the waiter - he was nice...took a long time though ( i suppose when people have beer its customary to let them drink and talk for a while) This place is just your standard pizza joint.

The customer service is horrendous. I can't comprehend how some people get jobs in food service if they have no skills at communicating courteously to people. I made my order for pickup and the cashier was impatient and exasperated when I was asking her about the price for a single/personal pizza. By the way, a small pizza with two toppings- $14. Yep. INSANE. I then asked for a small cheese pizza instead, which was $9. The pizza was as thin as a piece of paper, but the oil on top was as thick as the crust should have been. Never again.

Dearest Mellow Mushroom-- how I miss you so. I lived in Atlanta for three years and am now living in Michigan where there's not a Mellow Mushroom to be found! I can't explain how upsetting it is... I crave their delicious pizza often and have found no comparison. The combination of incredibly fresh spring-water dough, generous toppings, and wonderful sauce makes for an incredible pie. Although a bit more pricey than some other pizza joints, Mellow Mushroom is well worth it. Their White Pizza is simply the best with a garlic & olive oil base, mozzarella, provolone, and feta cheese... there's no room for improvement. Anytime I pass through Atlanta there's no doubt we'll be stopping in at Mellow Mushroom for lunch or dinner. This location was probably my favorite in the city... a laid back Midtown vibe and great service.

Mellow Mushroom pizza is good pizza. It's just priced like great pizza. Never order the small size, even the medium size is something like 40% cheaper per square inch. This location is dingy-er than other locations I've been too, and draws a strange crowd sometimes. Don't take your kids there on Drag Queen trivia night, as it is rowdy and utterly distasteful. Now knowing someone who works there, I really do not encourage spending money at mellow mushroom as at least indirectly you are supporting drug culture through the waitstaff and the blatantly themed menu items. With them officially sponsoring drag queen trivia night, I say give this franchise none of your business as it does not benefit the city of Atlanta.

Vegans looking for a good pizza should try Mellow Mushroom. Be sure to ask for no butter or Parmesan cheese on the crust. They have daiya cheese as a vegan cheese option for your pizza but I personally don't care for the taste or texture of daiya cheese so I usually get mine cheese-less. The variety of toppings is quite diverse. I build my own pizza: Tomato base, broccoli, spinach, artichoke hearts and tempeh. They also have a really good customizable salad option where you have lots of veggie toppings and various dressings to choose from. Their avocado hoagie without cheese and mayo is also a really tasty vegan choice. The only complaints I would have is delivery and service in the restaurant tends to be a little on the slow side. Plus, the build your own pizza can get rather pricey with only a couple of toppings.

Well the owner responded to my review! I was very happy to know that they read the reviews. They invited me back to try the pizza again with $15 off.I decided to try it at my cost so as not to compromise my beliefs! You'll be happy to know that the pizza was so different that I didn't even recognize it from the last one. Much thinner?????? Got it loaded with meat and it covered the entire pie from rounded end to rounded end. Place still needs a little work from an employee service standpoint. Thank you owner for reaching out!

Do NOT order for delivery!!! I ordered a gluten free pizza for delivery and it was, without a doubt, the WORST one I have ever eaten. The crust had the consistency of very damp cardboard. But that wasn't all. The toppings were almost non-existent. On a ten inch crust there was maybe a smear of pesto five inches in diameter. Five or six shreds of spinach and maybe that many jalapeño slices. It was gross. I ate about two slices and tossed the rest. Ugh.

I went to Ga Tech a long time ago, and I still have fond memories of the Mellow Mushroom. I don't remember which one we went to, but it was near the campus. Still, all these years later, it is probably the best pizza I ever had.

Capable Pizza place for College students. Fun Routine Desserts. The pizza is heavy, its not some dough with a sprinkle of cheese and sauce. The BBQ Pizza had nice big chunks of chicken and they serve Blue Moon(and other beers) by the pitcher.

I find this to be the most consistent location in the chain - and a recent visit there confirmed that. Katherine, our server (highly recommended, btw), was awesome in helping us get the right sauce for our BBQ Chicken pizza. My significant other wanted that pizza with standard pizza sauce subbed out for the BBQ sauce - and I'll let you ponder the logic of that. Anyways, when the kitchen churned out the wrong pizza, she offered us to snack on the one she brought and she'd put in another order. Once we got close to the timing of the movie, we still had almost a full pizza leftover, and we asked if she could hold onto the leftovers while we were at the flick. she did, she rocks, and so does this location. The outdoor patio is joint for people-watching of all stripes. make sure to check that out - Midtown die-hards probably already have. oh, and the Newcastle on draught is must for those obsessed with cold brew in a glass. Sidebar: I see a review of their sandwiches called them "disgusting" and I couldn't disagree more. their turkey hoagie is all-toasted goodness and, for those who don't like mayo, maybe ask for it on the side? Get the turkey on a wheat roll. it rocks.

After meeting a closed Metrofresh post-workout (womp womp), Vanessa T stopped in at MM's patio for a quick bite. I don't know if it was our attire or our late entrance in to the trivia game that was running, but I haven't received that many dirty looks in quite some time. It was jarring. Trying to be health-conscious I opted to customize my own salad rather than order one of their famous pies. I doctored it up proper with avocado, tomatoes, broccoli, and artichoke hearts and paid for it dearly: a whopping $11. For that money, I know I could have had a better salad elsewhere, but I knew that before I ordered it: this is a pizza joint, after all. Service was mindboggingly slow, especially considering our very simple order. We waited nearly 30 minutes after placing our order for our food to arrive, which seemed a bit overkill for a casual joint like this. They were somewhat busy due to trivia, but nothing overwhelming. Oh, and the trivia guy: hella annoying. Apparently he thinks he can sing like Prince. Trust me when I say he can't.

Amazing atmosphere. Loved all the art on the walls. Mom and I stopped in here for lunch today. I had the double double lunch special which is 2 slices with 2 toppings. Had pepperoni and black olives. Pizza was pretty good but the crust was AWESOME!!!!

I have been here four times in the last month. I go for Ruby Redd's drag bingo night, which is a whole lot of "adult-themed" fun. Seems like a perfect bachelorette party dinner: pizza, drinks, a zoftig drag queen throwing shade and calling bingo while various local drag personae flaunt their stuff. And best of all, it raises money for charity! But onto the food. Being from California, where great pizza is nearly impossible to find, I always have low expectations of the pie. But when I saw the hippies in the kitchen hand tossing the dough so thin I could see lights of heaven shining through it, I knew they would at least impress me there, and I was right! Great crust. My only small complaint: some of their "signature" pizzas sport too many toppings, so much so that some of the toppings seem to disappear. As such, I recommend ordering a simpler pizza or putting one together yourself. Mellow Mushroom offers a great variety of toppings in addition to several sauces (oil & garlic, marinara, pesto, etc.). My most recent creation: a simple pesto, cheese, and sausage pie, was heavily delicious, and when the pizza came out a little on the small side, they gave us a personal-size pizza to make up for it. People have said service here is slow, but in my four visits that hasn't been the case. Usually Trent has been our server, and we haven't been lacking for refills nor waiting undue time for our food.

$24 for a 16 inch buffalo chicken pizza?! WTF? And the 16 inch cheese pizza was $12. They double the price just to add some random pieces of chicken, buffalo sauce, and bacon (and who puts bacon on a buffalo chicken pizza anyway?) I call bullshit. The worst part about paying $24 for the pizza was it was not very good. The cheese pizza reminds me of NY style, but grade E NY style pizza...like taco bell uses grade E meat. It was edible, but I don't recommend it. Thank goodness I'm going back to my STL style pizza. Get me some IMO's STAT!

Whenever I want a good veggie pizza, this is where I head to. They are generous with their ingredients and the dough is always cooked to perfection. When that piping hot pizza is coming my way, I can't help but smile. Hey, it's the little things in life that get me off - what can I say. Weather permitting, I enjoy sitting on their spacious patio. However, the interior is also nice. Oversize booths along the wall, high tops and regular tables as well as a bar to sit at accommodate everyone's preference. Ceilings fans and TV's scattered about add to a pleasant atmosphere. Now, when they get the servers to be as consistently good as the pizza, they will earn 5 stars!

The service, which has been good at lunch for a long time, just keeps getting better. Every location is different and this place has some seasoned employees that really care about customer experience. Even a pizza slice came out beautifully presented with roma-sized tomato slices laid out in a nice pattern. We spoke with our server at some length about how we went to extra trouble just to eat at this particular Mellow Mushroom and she told us about how hard the manager works to keep on top of service. Nobody's perfect, but these guys are working hard every day to be good and it shows. Great job, guys.

Le this be said, that I am a major fan of pizza. I eat it at least once, twice a week if I feel that I deserve it. After going to the Midtown Arts Cinema, my friend suggested that we eat at Mellow Mushroom since I've never been and he loved it. We sat out on the patio with everyone and all of the pets in their household as well but it was nice. The animals didn't bother me. I usually don't sit on the patios but I did this time since it was pretty stuffy inside. I rated this three stars because I had to ask for a refill because our waitress was pretty invisible for the most part. She also charged everything to my card, when my friend told her what was what and we had to wait about 10 minutes for her to get back to us to tell her what she did. But the food was great. Really great. I had the chicken calzone with pepperoni added and it was PLENTY of toppings stuffed inside. I loved it. Just better service would have gave this 4 stars. I'll be back.

Placed order at 8:49 for two medium pizza's, one gluten free. Quoted 30 minutes. Arrived at 9:20. Watched, from the bar, as the gluten-free pizza was placed in the oven. At 9:30, the bartender came over & asked if the gluten preference was based on an intolerance or an allergy & after hearing that it was an allergy, said that that was why it was taking so long. Finally walked out the door at 9:40. I understand that making a pizza free of wheat in an environment covered in wheat can be a nuisance. If you can't accommodate that, then don't quote half an hour &/or don't offer gluten-free pizza on the menu. It took 50 minutes to leave with two pizza's, $50 after tip. For take-out, I'm afraid that's outrageous.

Pizza with no tomatoes whatsoever? Damn I must be high.... Or just eating the Philosopher's Pie at Mellow Mushroom, which is exactly what I enjoyed last night. My friends and I voyaged out here, especially when every place we stopped by or called in had at least an hour wait. The place is quite vibrant with bright colors and welcoming staff. We ordered a pitcher of blue moon, two pizzas, and ate to our heart's content. Delicious pizzas made to order, I'll definitely make a few more visits sometime soon. If you're looking to get more bang for your buck/share with two, get a 16" vs two 10" pizzas.

On Wednesdays at this Mellow Mushroom, there is bingo hosted by Atlanta-based camp-style, drag queen, Ruby Redd. RR is hilarious and a great bingo MC. It was my first time attending, and I was laughing non-stop. She goes for the quick and easy (race, orientation, etc.) call-outs, but at least she is clever and funny. Our waiter was very attentive and nice, but the actual food was only so-so, (that has been my regular experience at this chain, though). Their food is not bad, I just don't find it anything to rave about. We ordered the garlic bread with cheese (delicious, but can't go wrong with bread/cheese), salads and the tofu sandwich. The tofu was decently cooked and the salads were ok, but extremely salty. I ordered the Brutus with jerk chicken and was full afterwards, but that salad is not worth $12 and I probably won't get it again. I did not like the dressing and might have enjoyed it more with ranch. For dessert we had a cookie and ice-cream sundae which was delicious. I would definitely return for Birdcage Bingo, but would not go to Mellow Mushroom just for the food.

It's just pizza! I think mellow mushroom is better than pizza hut, dominoes and papa john's. Theres really not much to say. I ordered a pizza for pick up (during a weekday lunch) and it was ready on time and the transaction was easy and painless. I also like that the bacon on the pizza is real bacon and not just sprinkled bacon bits. And I didn't stay to eat but I was surprised at the amount of patrons inside. Lots of people happily eating pizza.

I had never really been to a Mellow Mushroom until my boyfriend got a part-time job there a few years ago. It was close to our place so I would go up there and hang out when I was bored. One day he surprised me with the most amazing vegan tofu hoagie and from that moment on I was in love with this sandwich! Every time I went up there he made me something else vegan, according to the suggestions of his vegan-friendly coworkers. I pretty much lived off Mellow Mushroom for a few months! Now, there are many 'Shrooms around town that are very hit-or-miss (like a certain one in Marietta that I despise) but once you find one you like, I say try to stick with it. I recently went to Orange Beach, Al. and we had the hardest fricking time finding food. Not a single grocery store carried tofu! Even grocers in South Dakota carry tofu! So as we were driving around we saw a Mellow Mushroom. So, not only did we get tofu hoagies, but when the cook heard our request for tofu, no cheese or mayo, she came out and said she is making sure our meals are 100% vegan for us! Any company that stresses the importance of making sure vegans get a kosher meal has my heart!

Server first forgot to put our drink order in - took 10 minutes to get a cocktail in a non-busy restaurant. Then forgot to put our appetizer order in - once she put it in we set the timer and gave them 15 minutes to get us some form of food. 45 minutes after we were sat still no apps and our pizza was probably not coming anytime soon, paid for our drinks and left hungry. Do not eat here unless you want to sit around waiting for food to show up. **Update** Owner of Midtown Mellow Mushroom store contacted me nearly immediately after my review. Appears we had a new server who made a few simple mistakes, looking back at it we all make mistakes so I cannot down the whole restaurant for a the mistakes of one. Our server was very friendly and personable, just forgot a few things. It happens. I originally vowed to never step foot in this location again but after having her reach out to me so quickly has changed my mind. I will give it another go.

Awesome crust with parm cheese sprinkles. There's no match for the Mighty Meaty and the calzones kinda rule too. The beer list is shockingly good for a pizzeria. Parking is like impossible at this particular location, but it's nearby.

Stopped here for lunch here yesterday. It was a beautiful day in Atlanta so the patio was packed. Although, it was crowded the waitstaff did a good job keeping up. We had the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. It was alright nothing to rave about. It's a nice lunch spot if you are in the area.

I haven't had the pizza at this location, but their sandwiches are disgusting. I've always said, people who have never eaten vegan probably don't know how to season correctly, and this is definitely the case here. The first time, I got their tofu hoagie, no cheese. Since it didn't say anything on their menu about mayo, I took a big bite and got a mouthful of mayonnaise. Fantastic. Spat it out, and ended up just throwing away the sandwich because I didn't have time to go back and argue. Recently, I got an avocado sub, no cheese or mayo, and asked them to add on tofu. Apparently they are very accustomed to relying on copious amounts of mayo and cheese, so when you order something vegan here, it is just not pleasant. They did not marinate or cook the tofu on my sub in any way. The avocado slices were needlessly huge, unwieldy and unattractive - about 80% of them had gross bruises and I ended up taking them off. Have they never heard of salt and pepper or condiments other than mayo? I guess not. It was like eating a styrofoam sandwich. AND it was $9! Yeah. I'm not ordering anything from here again.

Ah, Simpsons trivia. Brings back the memories. Used to show up every Monday for this, only came close to placing once (and got ripped off by the host, who obviously DOESN'T know about snpp.com , but whatever) But we used to go so often that the servers treated us great and eventually we'd get sick of the pizza. Still, a great place to hang and chill on Monday nights.

Decent service. They were out of all stouts but the $9 on tap brew. WTF! Mellow the brand has changed since I was a youngin' (shout out: one of the original MM owners taped my bat mitzvah). I am burnt out on their pizza from the years of eating it so now I get the sandwichs. The jerk chicken sandwich now contains peppers, and spinch and all kinds of other narsty crap so I decided to forgo. I had to go for a tofu sandwich which was delcious by the way- new fave for me.

We ordered the small pizza and it was plenty for 2 people. The crust was very high and crunchy we ordered the house special.. and i thought compared to Fellini's it had more veggies but not enough sauce or cheese. I think I like Fellini's better.. but that could be me. the place was not very romantic or 1st date appropriate but NAM was closed.. but I still had a wonderful time. The service was pretty good, our waiter came back to give us more soda and he didn't even ask if i had diet coke or not.. so it made me wonder if he remembered, hhehe if he did WOW for him. Oh one WONDERFUL thing... NO wait!!! But seating yourself is a little annoying, I like being directed to places..

We were there during labor day for the Simpsons trivia. I've had pizza at other mellow mushroom places and didn't care for any since I was completely bloated that day. So I had the tofu half sub. It was...bland to say the least. I sprinkled it liberally with salt and pepper and it was still bland. I won't be ordering that again. My fellow buddies ordered the mighty meaty and the chicken cordon bleu. They greatly enjoyed the mighty meaty but not so much the chicken cordon bleu. I had a bite of the chicken cordon bleu and I had to agree Waaay too hammy and it was *soaking* in oil (Then again, it has an olive oil base). Ew. I did not care for the dough it was made on either. A bum outside was trying to seduce me from the other side of the window so we offered him the last slice of chicken cordon bleu pizza. He ate it, peed in the bushes behind mellow mushroom and left. The Simpsons trivia is definitely a plus. No other reason why I would come back to this place except for that. The air is extremely greasy smelling and feeling. Think Varsity.

I have been to several locations for Mellow Mushroom, and I have had great experiences at all locations. The food is decent, and the beer selection is great and not all too pricey. I will say that the pizza is a bit expensive for the quality, but eh, it is what it is. I will continue to patronize them from time to time bc I love the atmosphere.

Went back after the manager contacted me based on my previous, not-so-great experience. Let me start by saying that this was a gluten-free pizza, so it probably wasn't gonna be that great from the get-go. The crust wasn't the best gluten-free crust I've ever had, so the pizza was fighting an uphill battle. However, I was pleasantly surprised that this time, there were tons of toppings. It looked like a pizza should look this time, which was awesome. The salad was also very, very good. The food was still a bit pricey. All in all, I have to give it to Mellow Mushroom for making it up to me for the first experience. Thanks!

pizza is pretty good. We used to alternate Mellow Mushroom when we got tired of Cameli's (near the Death Kroger on Ponce). They put butter on the crust, so it's a bit oilier than most, but the sauce is pretty good. The one annoying thing is that even though we ate here probably hundreds of times and the staff recognized us, EVERY time they would card us when we ordered beers. And, uh, we certainly are older than 21. Despite the hippie, drug-induced murals and marketing scheme, I hear the guy that owns this chain is very corporate and quite the contrast to the chain's image. Still, we ate there, because it was close to the movie theater.

The pizza is awesome. And we always get good service. I recommend the white pizza. And there is a full bar. I like it. I'm curious about Simpsons trivia night on Mondays, sounds like fun.

I love this place - it has become my new hangout spot. Getting a seat at the bar is not always easy(only 10 seats). The staff is always friendly and happy. The food is great along with the service. Keep up the good work! Kudo's to Natalie and Candi - you always treat us well.

For the past couple weeks I've felt like I've been walking around with a sign on my forehead that reads, "Serve me bad food." The last several meals out have been sub par, even from the regular spots that at some point had noteworthy food. The most recent restaurant blunder came from Mellow Mushroom. Maybe I'm docking them a little hard with only two stars, but the ONLY reason I decided to eat there last weekend was because I wanted their butter-brushed parmesan crush. And guess what? They served me a pizza that was dry as a bone and had no seasonings whatsoever. How could you not serve your signature style pizza? Plus the meat did not seem fresh, the dough heavy, which gave me weird stomach feelings when eating the leftovers. Way too overpriced, especially because there was no butter, no cheese sprinkles. I could have made that pizza at home with more flavor. Probably won't eat there again.

Shroom on in to this urban chic but wickedly wacky Mellow Mushroom. This is one of the few urban Mellow Mushrooms that actually attracts the younger 20 something pizza loving crowd. Perhaps its because it is surrounded by bars and trendy restaurants and cafes in a shopping center right near Piedmont Park, but you can't find many families dining here. Instead you find the kind of college aged or just out of college guys sitting around outside playing Simpson's Trivia on Monday nights. The pizzas are large and greasy but topped with a million chopped veggies or slices of meat - they definitely don't skip on the toppings.

So you want Pizza? Thousand Results. Local Pizza Place? Hundred Results? Local Chain? Two excellent results, Mellow Mushroom and Fellini's. Mellow Mushroom tends to be more California Style Pizza, fresh toppings with veggies on top and different combinations, tie-dye and colors, etc. Taco Macs, as a rule, have special beers (glasses each month), great pizza (but no preservatives, so when it gets cold reheat in oven, it tastes bland other wise), and local feel. This location has a great staff, lots of parking, friendly people, and the coupe de gras, Simpsons Trivia Monday night. I have been to a lot of trivia nights, this is the best. The host is fun, questions are good in proportion, and the music is fun. (Monday at 8, you wont regret it.)

Mellow Mushroom is an absolutely ordinary regional pizza chain with nothing to distinguish it. But it's fun and the food is...you know...whatever. It's pizza. It's not bad. But it's not great. The crust is a little bready and neither thin and crisp or thick and chewy. Pizza crush should be crispy or chewy. Bready is no good. It's salad. We're talking iceberg lettuce. No nutritional value and no creativity. It's beer. They get that much right. So why go to Mellow Mushroom? It's fun. Everything from the murals of toked out rock stars to the friendly servers. You'll have a good time. Maybe good enough to forget about your bready crust. PS. On Monday night's they've got a kickass Simpsons Trivia night. This is Simpsons trivia for serious nerds. If you think you're a Simpsons nerd, try your hand at trivia and find out.

This is my least favorite Mellow in the city. I ordered a sandwich once and the ham was cut in little strips. It was salad ham, not sandwich ham. Why not just keep the ham in sandwich slices and cut it for the salad instead of vice versa? I know this is picky of me, but it was really annoying cause the ham kept falling out of the sandwich. The rest of the menu is about like other Mellows, but here they drop the ball on the sandwiches. Pretty much ANY other Mellow is going to be better.

I had a Mellow Mushroom pizza for dinner last night (and for breakfast) and I chided myself for not indulging more often. They make a crust that is crispy and chewy, not too thin, not too thick, a little sweet and the right amoutn of salty. I always eat the entire slice, relishing every last bite. The pizzas are timed perfectly out of the oven so the cheese is oh-so-lightly toasted. The pepperoni edges are curled up and brown, and you know the first bite is going to be heavenly. I know they offer lots of toppings, but I'm basic when it comes to my pie -- pepperoni, onions and mushrooms.

Expect a little attitude & a lot of noise & you'll be ok. The food's worth it. Fresh, fresh, fresh. Their dough is made with spring water, for god's sake. This also the only local pizzaria where you can ask them to leave the cheese off, say "make it vegan," & they don't look at you like you just spoke Portugese. (Telling them to make it vegan leaves the butter & parm off the crust.) Vegan pizza heaven: extra sauce, tempeh, garlic, onion, pineapple, sundried tomatoes, & pineapple. YUM! Another vegan option: several of their subs 86 cheese & mayo. Avocado, tempeh, mushroom club, vegetarian, tofu. Get it to go, take it home & slap some veganaise on it, & YUM. Does their website remind you of something? Homestar Runner, perhaps?

Simpsons trivia is a lot of fun even if you don't know a ton about it. The questions can be difficult ,but you can always put goofy answers like we did. Actually, I think the host gave us some points for a few of them. We definitely didn't win but had a lot of fun. The pizza is pretty good. They are really nice about making a pizza half one way and half another as long it is the same base sauce. One of my favorite things there is new, the bruschetta. It was really good. The real downside is it can take a LONG time to get your food.

I loved the pizza. Hated the service. I walked in and it was like the girl at the register looked through me. I sat in front of her for a full 5 minutes trying to signal I was trying to order before she even attempted to take it (this was for a take out ordeR). Its not like she was doing anything. She was sitting there looking at some papers or whatever. But whatever happened to attending to your customers? I guess she was in college and kinda spaced out...who knows....but besides her..my service would have been great. Because of the girl, they lose a star.

What can i say for a little Cali hippie love here in the south. The Mellowmushroom is a great place to beat the heat inside or sit in it outside. Good pizza and great choices of beer on tap. What really helps is the salads and sandwich options they have if your not in a pizza kinda mood. Service is a lil lacking with all the kid waiters but hey they do their best and I respect that. Its a fun atmosphere for lunch during the weekdays or an informal dinner weekday or weekend. Its sure to satisfy. Who could not love all the drug references on the walls menu hell the staff too. Fun times for liberal or conservative.

Mellow Mushroom makes me a happy girl. It's good, fresh, and made to order. So it stands to reason that you won't have your pizza in five minutes, but that's okay because they also serve beer and other drinks. My only complaint is that they always seem to be out of something. Once they were out of limes. Once they were out of tonic. Boooo! But the pizza is good so I'll have a beer instead and just shut up.

yummy yummy in my tummy.........we go there, get a good sub, a calzone perhaps, and always cheesy bread. Now the wait staff can be a bit bohemian but its got character and its a fun hang out.

Great Pizza. The white is my fave. These guys have it locked down. It is a bit pricey but compared to the competition, my extra dollars are well spent.

This regional chain gets it right. The dough is the key here. It is chewy and sweet and absolutely delicious. Toppings are the same here as any other American pizza restaurant. The sauce is pleasing enough as well. Salads are poor here, with ice berg lettuce and pizza toppings. the house Esperanza dressing is Greek-like crossed with Caesar. Not bad, but sort of a mystery to me. I'd rather have ranch. The restaurants name and psychadelic decorations are a nod to its hippy past, and the inclusion of vegetarian friendly items and toppings solidify its commitment to that past. Most locations have extensive draft beer selections at reasonable prices.

There might not be a next time but if there is hopefully my experience will be different. Went with a couple of my vegan peeps. They ordered pizza with vegan cheese. Our server took forever and kept going outside to smoke. We had beer + cider so we weren't too upset or in a rush. Come to find out our wait was due to the fact that they tried to make a vegan pizza with regular cheese. Big time no-no. Luckily Trader Joe's is right next door. Took an additional amount of time. Our server left some more. We were offered more beer for free. Still didn't make up for everything since we were already on pitcher #2 of our own. My pizza wasn't that great maybe it was my topping choice. Who knows. Had artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, and onions with the pesto base. We didn't make too much of a fuss about the mix up. But for $20 a person you better get our order right. I will hesitate to go there every time someone suggests it and won't suggest it on my own.

Mellow Mushroom. I was introduced to Mellow Mushroom a few years back. It isn't anything to sing home about though. I haven't been here in a while. Actually I'd say that I like the sandwiches here better than the pizza. The crust is a little too doughy for me.

this is a great place. every social or business trip i take to Atlanta requires a meal here. their calzones, slices, and full pies are fantastic. I don't even mess with the hoagies or salads. I like the one on Monroe because then I can pop over to Highlander and grab a beer afterwards.
