Of the 20+ visits my friends and I have under our belts, I had yet to have gone on a Friday. However, after a fun conversation with Nicole Paige Brooks (RuPaul's Drag Race Season 2 - she's there on Fridays) on Periscope, I found myself (and friends in tow) on their doorstep last week. I have been missing out. Fridays are freakin' awesome at Lips...as expected! I didn't have a reservation. I took a risk and just showed up. Eventhough it worked out for us, I do advise all to continue making reservations. It is too popular of a place to just walk in and expect to be able to get a table. Our hope was that we could sit at the bar and watch the show. I admit, it's for selfish reasons. I just like to be near the staff, the bartenders and other Lips Team members as they walk by. I'm glad we did as we got to chat with several of the entertainers before the show. I do my best not to take up their time but as a mega fan it's really cool to be near them when on occasion they walk near the bar area. I respect the fact that they are taking care of everyone but I can't help but wave and get all excited when they are near us. They are just so much fun to be around. They even came over to the bar and checked on us. I felt like we were being checked on from every angle, the staff REALLY goes above and beyond to make sure their patrons are more than comfortable. These ladies are not just servers, but really amazing (and super smart and globally conscious) entertainers. The room lit up like a flame after each performance for both seatings. People were going crazy dancing and getting all caught up in the performances. It was so cool to see everyone experience the energy in that place. It's outstanding! We were so sad after the show as over. We didn't want to leave so we asked if we could stay for the second set...and they let us. We were there from the moment they opened until they closed watching visitors GO WILD over the shows and joining in the magic that is Lips Atlanta while slurping down drinks. That place is sooooo...omigoodness, it leaves me speechless. I was practically shaking all week long, just itching to go back. It's hard to stay away...obviously. I love it there! But I tell you, those ladies work so hard. I mean...I've never seen people work like that in my life. I can only pray people are tipping the staff at least 18% per table. If you're going, please be prepared to $how $ome love because you'll feel really weird not tipping after the amazing treatment you get from the staff...from the time you walk in the door until the moment you leave... If you are at the bar, you can still tip. Just walk over to the edge of the stage area and hand it over as they strut and sashay down the aisles. I think the only mistake I made this time was I forgot to order food while at the bar. My friends ate but I was so excited and leaping out of my seat to tip that I left after a few hours and realised I was hungry. I'm telling you, this place will sweep you off your feet. So don't forget to eat and don't be afraid to leave your seat and give the staff some loving treat$. Long live the Lips Team! xoxo -A.

Lips is beautiful and so much fun! I always feel like a princess when I go. I recommend going on a Saturday night to see Ms. Charlie Brown or Sunday for the gospel brunch. The performers are better on Saturday night, but the food is hit or miss. My friend told me that the pork chops were on point. My burger was decent as well, but the fries were lukewarm. Oh and you have to take a blowjob shot! The Sunday gospel brunch food is great. I had the chicken & waffles and they were amazing! Just as good if not better than your average brunch spot in ATL. I had to knock off one star because some of the performers are lazy and tend to walk around and collect tips from the crowd than to perform and actually work for a tip. It takes away from the experience.

I guess I was expecting more. The place is beautiful and the drag queens were great servers. but that was the best part of the whole night. 1. Expect to spend some money when you are all done. The bill for 2 of us was 84.00 food ranges from 10-20 dollars (but you have to spend at least a 15 dollar food min) My wife got a drink it was 8 and shots are 10. My sweet tea was 4.23 :/ 2. Dont expect the food to be great. My wife's grilled chicken was so dry and it mostly tasted like a microwave dinner. The food dose come out fast tho im sure that's why the food is not on the top of its game. 3.There was a 5 cover which i expected and i was perfectly fine with 4. The show to me was kind of short. I think they did maybe 5 songs and they celebrated birthdays. (which by all means im ok with ) I guess i expected group numbers and more than what i can go get at MSR. 5. The host was amazing and funny tho i was entertained. Monica Vanpelt is beyond hilarious. All in all the food is not great the drag queens are amazing but it is expensive and the show is short. So if your willing to spend the money i recommend going on a Friday or Saturday. Its worth the experience but, I think we have had our fill on LIPS OF ATLANTA!

So I was prepared not to be wowed by the food. And I was not. But I did expect a really great show. And maybe I am hard to please but......I just felt like the show was the performers walking around for tips. And really, that's not impressive. We went for Sunday brunch and I chickend out of the chicken and waffle and got the Eggs Benedict. I ate it because I was starving but please believe it was just okay. Folks in my group ordered the steak which I think fared much better and the chicken and waffle was okay too. The place was packed, mainly with women of course. But large parties are not a problem because they set up the tables to accommodate the large groups with no problem. They spend a portion of the evening acknowledging birthdays and brides to be or whatever else you may be celebrating. There were so many on that Sunday that it took a long time and jest became boring. The show consisted of the queens lip synching to gospel songs. Now don't get me wrong, some of the entertainers were really good and put their back into it. Others just walked around with a mic and a hand out. The MC was very funny and kept the show going. I say try it out, maybe on a Friday or Saturday night, maybe its a lot more exciting. But definitely go to be entertained and not hungry.

When I arrived at this relatively obscure building with no windows, I suspected it to look shady instead. To my wonderful surprise, it was colorful and well-decorated. It was like walking into a theatrical event.. Well, it turned to be quite an entertaining afternoon. Drag queens walked around, served food. I got the impression that most of them really enjoyed working there. I loved the flamboyance of it all. It was quite a show with lip syncing and even a drag queen (older man) ripping off his/her (I can never get this right) string of pearls on his/her neck to jump rope with it. I would recommend visiting this place if you've never gone to a drag show. They really and literally engage the audience (sit in the front if you dare). From other reviews, I didn't expect much of the food. In fact, I debated whether to eat before coming. To my pleasure, the food was not so bad (3 stars). I got the chicken penne. I thought the sauce would be excessively creamy but it was not too thick for my taste. I was very impressed by the smooth, prompt service. All the food were, well presented and looked consistent. Kudos to the kitchen and staff for pulling this off for so many people at once. (It helps that they have a limited menu. I also tried the chicken and waffles, omelette, and egg benedict. Waffles looked almost plastic. Chicken was dry. Omelette was fluffy. Would not recommend egg benedict served for the masses. The egg was more cooked and not runny).

As a drag connoisseur, I take female impersonation very seriously. I've been known to watch drag shows that have lasted as long as 8 hours. Yes, 8 hours (RIP Backstreet Atlanta). Speaking of Backstreet, I was over the moon when I heard about Mr. Charlie Brown's new Taboo Show on Saturday nights. The ads say "If you loved Backstreet, you'll love Buford Highway." Well, notsomuch... First, the show is significantly shorter than the X-Rated Cabaret show at Backstreet. Also, the folks celebrating birthdays and weddings weren't celebrated like they are at Lips. They were quickly ridiculed by the likes of Raven or Heather Daniels... and it only took 90 seconds to read them for filth and then get them off stage. Lips allows everyone with a birthday to wear a Burger King crown and then pose with two drag queens as they blow out the candle on a cupcake. Also, I wasn't expecting the late night show to also include dinner. I had just left a party and only wanted to find a place to continue drinking to maintain a buzz. Don't make me feel bad (or hold up the show for the other people who ordered full meals) for not choosing from the dinner menu. When the bill came we were fully expecting to pay for all the alcohol that was consumed. We weren't expecting a $10 cover that was charged for 9 people (despite having a 6 person group). I would have been cool with the cover had it been addressed upfront, but even the valet folks said there wasn't a cover.

Had an amazing time for my birthday this past Saturday. The food on prix menu was okay, will try the brunch next time. Great place to try something different in the city, and bring cash if you're in a large group. Since they don't split the check

Lips is a super fun place if you're looking for a good time with some drag queens thrown in the mix. In a word, Lips is glamorous. Opulent doesn't even begin to describe the ambiance upon entrance. Chandeliers, lights, the works. It's a place for queens to shine. You're welcome to ask to take pics with the entertainers and in fact, they encourage it! It's definitely the place for birthdays, bachelorettes, and the like. I was there for my BFF's bachelorette, and she said she couldn't have asked for a better show and place to celebrate. The specialty drinks are on the sweeter side, so if that's not your thing, go for ordering from the bar. Shots were yummy. They even came in a cool lip-shaped souvenir shot glass! The show itself was fantastic. The girls were on point in both performance and looks. I am not the biggest Beyoncé fan but the performance of Drunk in Love was so, so good that I enjoyed both the music and performance. Next time I'm in Atlanta, I want to catch the Sunday brunch!

Word of advice..do not come here hungry. This is a place to come have drinks and give tips. It's mostly women lip syncing but the plus is that it's to a lot of my favorite songs. Some of the servers are pretty awful. I felt like my group was bothering our waitress by being there. I think it's better to come in a small group because they don't seem to enjoy large ones. We came for a bachelorette party. We still made it a great time but I hope I don't have to come back.

Lips is a one of a kind experience. Just to warn you...do not come here if you are easily offended or close minded. Because you will see and hear some wild s**t. The host Charlie Brown does not give a damn! However, I was very entertained the whole night. I went on a Friday night. If you are the one celebrating an event, they will pull your ass on the stage and ask you the most obscene questions! I found it quite amusing. Just prepare yourself mentally because this place seems to be very popular for those things (birthdays, bacholerette parties, etc). I will not enclose too much detail about the things they say, just to leave an element of surprise. I enjoyed the performers, some more than others. The food was nothing that blew my mind. I got crab cakes and salad. The crab cakes...meh. The salad..meh. The food came out super fast...like literally 5 minutes after we ordered, which more so alarmed me than excited me. Also, they don't split checks which I find super annoying. So 1 star off for the food and check process. I wish the show was a little bit longer too. I feel like it only lasted 30-40 minutes. Overall, I think this place makes for a very interesting, unique experience. I would definitely go again.

We went to lips for a birthday dinner and our server michelle was AMAZING. We had the best time the show was great and our service was out of this world. Definitely recommend lips for a good time!

Something new for a birthday or bachelorette celebration! I would recommend the experience to anyone who has never seen a drag show. It is filled with sassy bitch-calling-divas, sexy curves, old-school music, and laughter! Come with an open mind and you will have lots of fun. Decor: 4 Beautiful place with lots of lights and creative decorations! Service: 4 You will be served by drag-queens. Because they tend to have large parties here, it can take a while for them to take everyone's orders. Food: 2.5 I'm sorry, but the quality/taste of the food here is pretty bad. Not to mention the price $$. But I guess most people come here for the show and not the food. But I really hope they can improve the quality of their dishes. Show: 5 Awesome show! The music were great. The divas were great. They even had individual stage moments for the birthday girls/guys and bachelorettes/bachelors! Overall: 4 I would recommend the experience - a good place to go if you are tired of doing the same thing for your birthday. Be sure to bring dollar bills to tip the Divas as they dance down the aisle ;)

These ladies are very patient. My crew came in and got twisted. We deserved the mean looks some of the dancers gave us but thankfully we didn't get kicked out. We weren't disrespectful but we were loud, danced in the isles and one of our girls thought she was a performer. We had a ball! The drinks range from $5 shots to $10+ drinks. The food ranges from $8-$17 for plates, apps and meals. Now the drinks are fruity and they are ok. I wouldn't call them weak but I wouldn't call them strong. The food is just ok too. It can be bland, don't expect gourmet just gourmet prices. Yet I always come back to this place for more. Why? The entertainment is pretty good. They have mediocre dances and they have high energy dancers that could put Beyonce to shame. This place caters to ladies (big surprise), expect lots of makeup, high heals and big hair. Expect lip sync songs from Rihanna, Beyonce, etc. They keep it tasteful except for the loud mouth Charlie that leads the show, cusses like a sailor, and acts like a self proclaimed "whore". Love it! I used to follow Charlie in Backstreet and the failed Charlie's Cabaret in underground. Expect a cover charge of about $10 and a food/drink minimum of $10-15. However the ladies take tips (as one Yelper mentioned it does seem like they prefer to gather tips than entertain). They need to work on a plan so it doesn't take away from the performance. That being said, be careful you don't blow your $ on tips and then have no clue how to cover the steep food and drink charges. They only take one CC per bill, and never split checks. If they want more $ coming in they need to work on that. Each time I've come it makes a mess to try and cover the bill with one CC and take cash (who has cash now a days anyway). Last of all, I came last summer and this year they had the same songs and acts with very few new ideas. If you want your fans coming back for more, you gotta change it up! Ladies feel free to bring a fella though they will tear him up (make sure he enjoys a Trans sexy female shaking her tata's in his face). Expect 99% of the audience to be birthdays and bachlorette's. They honor them on stage (good for them) but they drag it out way to much some nights. Overall come for a raunchy, sexy, slutty show. Leave full of laughs and fun along with an empty wallet.

Let's face it. We don't come here for the food. So let's get that out of the way. The food was ok. Standard fare. Nothing special. Things were over fried or overcooked. The best thing about their gospel brunch was the eggs Benedict and even that was just ok. Their drinks are on the pricey side and somewhat altered down. Now onto the real meat of this review. The queens. The gospel brunch was almost 2.5 hours long and except for a couple of hiccup performances, the entire production was incredible. I have to commend bubbaDlicious. Her personality was larger than life and she was completely inappropriate. Service was amazing and the staff was incredibly accommodating. The venue just off Buford highway has a dedicated valet service which is complimentary. The interior is colorful, lively, over the top which fits the personality of the characters delving within. I would've given this place a 5 star review if the food was somewhat better. However, there is no denying the entertainment value of this place. For the price of admission of a regular entree at a decent restaurant, you get 2.5 hours of amazing entertainment. Please go. You will not regret it.

We went to LIPS for my early Birthday Dinner and had a BLAST!!! The show was awesome!!! It was easy to make reservations (and you have to...they fill up fast!). They give you a crown for you birthday and call you up on stage for a minute for a picture (which they put in a card for you!) with the performers and also give you a little cake! Yes, it's $10, but who cares, it's your Birthday! Our server was the best performer!!! The food was good, not great. It's kind of just regular restaurant fare. Nothing special, but not bad. The only issue we had was that it takes a while to get another drink. I suggest that you just order two at a time, as they are busy running around. Thanks for a great time!!!!!!!!!

I had no idea what to expect when I booked a Bachelorette party at LIPS, knew it would be entertaining to say the least! It was hilarious and entertaining! The staff was funny, friendly, and talented for what it was! Our bachelorette was pulled up on stage where the MC poked a little fun then they took some shots and a picture. We were hysterically laughing the whole time at the jokes they made. You defiantly have to have a sense of humor or they will destroy you! We were laughing and dancing the whole time. The food was mediocre, but I didn't have high expectations for it, more went for the show. I would 100% reccommend it! Make a reservation in advance, we got lucky last minute!

Fun place, but on weekends is too packed and service is way too slow. Got ripped off, and managers don't really care. Otherwise, performers were great and everybody there is ready for a good time.

My friends and I had such a blast at LIPS. We went for a bachelorette party and it was a great choice. The entertainment was fantastic and the service was phenomenal. I highly recommend this as a way to start girl's night. The drinks were good and the food was decent - really enjoyed the calamari.

The Skinny: The valet is complimentary but they are kinda inefficient when it was time to arrive for dinner. The line was on Buford Highway. Don't come here for the food, come here for the experience. This way you wont leave disappointed. The best thing I ate tonight was the garlic bread and really that was just Texas Toast with some mozzarella cheese melted on it. I ordered the chicken penne. It wasn't very good but if you insist on getting it, please order extra sauce. It's kinda dry. Bring cash to tip the queens. You can request change from your server. The Scoop: This place used to be Club Miami which was a popular lesbian night club. Not sure what happened to them. They've completely transformed. It's almost like Monday night at the jungle (though I haven't been in years) but with dinner. The Deets: I know I need to finish my homework but I had to get this out while it's still fresh in my mind. My friend had some homegirls in town and they wanted to check this out. It's tough to get reservations for a Friday or Saturday night but it's good that they do accept them. As a matter of fact, I think you need to make them. After getting through the valet situation, you walk in and there's a host area. My friends were already inside so I found them and had a seat. The crowd was a nice mixture but mostly females and gay men. The food ordering and eating takes place first and then the show starts eventually. Our reservations were for 630 and I think the show started around 8. I couldn't stay for the whole thing because I needed to get home and do my homework (even though I'm typing this instead SMH). They do a cool birthday celebration and take a picture with you and the host. I would say go ready to spend about $50 between food, a drink and tips. Maybe more. It was a cool experience overall. I would give the show experience a 5 and the food a 2 which is why I am giving them a three. If they could step their food game up they'd really do great. Check them out for yourself! They are A-OK.

A group of 15 of us made it to LIPS on Sunday for Gospel Brunch. This was my first time at a drag show, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I have, however, been to a dining-theatre experience so I can compare to that. The Good; The decor and the costumes! I really liked the crossed legs hanging over the dining area. Many of the guys in drag did a phenomenal job emulating a woman. Some, not so much ... Looking at you, Bubba D. Honestly, it was hard to believe that some were even in drag. The atmosphere and the jokes! While Bubba D didn't look the most female, she got the most zingers. Definitely a great host, leading a good show. The Bad; Some performers did a really good job with their performances -- Justice, Whoopi Goldberg look-alike, the one who sang I Believe I Can Fly, to name a few. Others were a bit lack luster. In fact, I felt that many of them were just vying for tips even when they weren't putting on a good performance. That was my overall complaint, everything they did, they expected tips for. Yes, I understand that it is important to tip the performers, but it felt like it was pushed on us heavily. The birthday bit also went on forever and I was starting to lose interest. Overall, I'd probably come back occasionally, maybe bring some drag virgins, but it's definitely not a weekly hangout.

We went for my birthday and had a blast. I didn't expect a lot from the food but we all thought is was quite good. I had the lobster ravioli and it was very yummy. I enjoyed the frozen cosmos too. The performers were wonderful! Very friendly and super hard working divas. I will definitely be visiting again.

If I wanted to see a drag show, I don't think LIPS would be my number 1 choice. If you are one of those people who do not like clubbing, maybe this is the place for you. Unlike the drag shows at all the bars in Atlanta, this is a restaurant/drag show. It is not a dance club. Although the performers can be entertaining, there is a $10 cover that is added on your tab. I wish there was more communication about the cover fee. It's very surprising to have an extra $10 per party added on to your check. The crowd here is unique. It's pretty much just woman and bachelorettes. In fact, I felt like I was just watching a bachelorette party. In fact, the drag queens kept asking the soon to be married woman to come on stage. If you like bachelorette parties, I guess you will love this place.

I came here for the Sunday Gospel Brunch with a group, and I was pleasantly surprised by the talent, service, and the food. I've always been a fan of female impersonation shows, also known as drag queen shows, so I was happy to hear Lips was in Atlanta. The Sunday Gospel Brunch was hilarious. I felt a bit sacrilegious at times for laughing so hardy at the jokes at a "Gospel" Brunch, but when the performers came out singing some old faves it was like having church. Our server was efficient and through out the meal we were checked on to make sure we were doing okay. The brunch was surprisingly good, and the items on the menu and the mimosas were worth the price. I'll definitely be back to bring my mom next time for some "church!"

Went here on Friday for the early show and it was so entertaining! The performers were so upbeat and friendly. Great spot for a girls night. Food was good. We had the ahi tuna and potstickers. I was pretty impressed bc I had low expectations for the food but it was great. Lots of fun and frozen mixed drinks that keep with the theme. Great parking lot. Friendly staff. They take reservations and it was a blast!!

Lips is a place every female or even the female at heart should experience in a lifetime. Words cannot express ....from the ambience, entertainment, and decor were all on point. It is great for bachelorette and birthday parties. Reservations are recommended especially with large parties. There was a $10.00 admission fee. The food was ok. We had a large party so we had to select from a three course fixe menu that in my opinion wasn't worth $25.00 and drink, taxes, & gratuity were not included. My alcoholic beverage was watered down $8.50 plus a $10.00 shot in a cute souvenir shot glass. Overall a good experience and a night I will never forget.

I came here for a friend's birthday. I should have paid more attention to the reviews & eaten before I came! The food was terrible. I ordered a grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes & veggies on the side, it was bland, unseasoned & dry. Other menu items could be better but I'd rather not find out. Drinks were a lot better though! The show was definitely a fun experience, when they were actually performing. A lot of the show was taken up by the host, one of the older queens who cursed her way through unfunny jokes & insults. Her performance was also the least entertaining to be honest since all she did was walk around collecting cash... It kinda seemed like the performers were there to collect tips & act raunchy rather than actually dance & entertain. They also don't split checks which ended up being such a headache with our group trying to get cash & collect payment from everyone. I definitely spent more than I thought I would on terrible food & a mediocre show. The only highlight was our waitress who was hilarious but very sweet & actually took pictures with us! Overall, it may be fun for one time experience but not worth going to in my opinion.

4 stars because the show is amazing but the food is terrible. We loved our experience and had a wonderful time. The drinks are really good but I think they should just stick to maybe doing appetizers and not full entrees. I was with 8 other women and we were all a bit disappointed with what we were served. We know that this place is more about the entertainment than dining. But if that issue was worked out it would be a five star experience. I will be back. We had a ball.

Enjoyed the gospel brunch this Sunday with a party of 9. Two were celebrating birthdays. This was the most fun I've had in a long time. The show was great. The energy was up beat and fun. The food was ... fine. The price is great! I look forward to going again.. perhaps for Bitchy Bingo!!

This place was absolutely hilarious! I've been to the Lips in New York as I from Jersey and enjoyed that show very much but must say this show was better! It was more interactive as they came and sang with the audience! Food was good and drinks were strong and yummy! A fun way to end my trip to Atlanta and enjoy a girls night out!

  • Karly G.

I had such a blast here with my girls! They really do live up to the hype, the makeup, the costumes, the dirty humor and I can say that they got more swags than some of us... and that's the truth! Here's the deal, there's a $10 cover charge per person and you have to order $15 minimal worth of food, drinks not included. My girls and I each ordered 2 appetizers so we never got to try the main entree. The drinks were really good but the food is meh. I may try the main course next time and see how that is. We got here a little late but made it in time for the show. Of course being late, meant that we also got served last while everyone else was enjoying their food, we barely got served. The problem is that the dancers were also the waitress so they have to get themselves ready for their debut and trying to serve us cocktails was definitely double duties! However, once we got our drinks and our food, it was fantastic from there. They were funny, ruthless and obviously, you just gotta go with it. There's no harm and they obviously made fun of everything. If your'e too damn sensitive then I don't think you need to be here, seriously. The music was pumping and I love that they did familiar songs which we all sang to. The decor was super fancy and gaudy as it should be. I wouldn't expect anything less. The queens were looking sexy and they looked great in all the pictures we took. I may need some makeup lessons with them soon! Right in the middle of the show, they did the birthdays blows and the bachelorette shots on their knees. It was hilarious. Dirty Savannah Brown was witty and fiesty, love it. I totally recommend this place for a girl's night out!

Went here for my birthday Feb 7th and had a blast! This was my first official drag show and it did not disappoint. If you are planning on going I would say make sure that you arrive ON TIME so that you'll get a good seat. We arrived 15 mins late and the place was already packed and our party had to sit with another. The drinks were wonderful. I had the Frozen Cosmos which was divine while my comrades had the "Kick That Bitch to the Curb". We decided to order 4 of the appetizers so that we could get a taste of everything and then we would decide on the entrees. Well at least that was the plan. We ordered crab cakes that came with a spicy corn and bean salsa topped with with a spicy mayo sauce, Asian Chicken Pot stickers with a sweet and spicy red sauce, Calamari topped with that same spicy mayo sauce, and buffalo wings. My mouth is watering as I type. Everything came quick, hot, fresh, and delicious. Not one crumb was left. I kid you not. The appetizers were so filling we didn't have the stomach space to order an entree. The drag show started at 7:30 and those Queens did not disappoint! Whitney Houston's impersonator was our waitress but the Whoopi Goldberg impersonator was my absolute fav. Make sure that you bring some cash to tip them as they walk through the crowd because this is how they get paid. For an extra $10 I received a crown, birthday cake, and got a chance to go onstage to take a picture with the hostess. I had so much fun that place is truly fabulous. The only qualm that I have about it is the space inside and parking, hence the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. There isn't much space to walk around because the chairs and tables are so close together. When we arrived the small parking lot was already full and after driving around in several circles I was finally advised by another patron that I could park at the Loan office next door since they were closed. I can say that was the only frustrating part of my night. Looking forward to going again for the food.

A group of us girls were planning a GNO that kept getting rescheduled, so I was beyond psyched that there was a date and it was firmly written in stone for our first foray into Lips. We arrived a bit after the majority of our group but luckily before any of the show started. Our group was assigned a booth on the left side of the stage, not an awesome spot, but it was a much, much better spot then the booth behind us whose view was completely blocked by columns. Our group ordered an assortment of apps, and I decided on the mushroom raviolis. Our food did take a bit to come out, but I think that trying to bring out heaping mounds of plated foods to full tables can be a bit frazzling for any kitchen, but from seeing the endless parade of waitstaff emerging from the kitchen with trays of foods every few minutes made me appreciate the total place's contribution and teamwork. The raviolis themselves were ok, the sauce was pretty good and I liked that they restrained themselves from drowning everything in the sauce. I did have a few bites of the calamari and they were ok. Not the best, but it did have a kick to it. For drinks I ordered "Kick the B to the curb" as the server said it was not as sweet. I must say that the drink was done perfectly, it was balanced throughout. I really hate it when the bartender makes a drink that is all flavorings on top and the alcohol on the bottom. This is not a nacho where layers are required. I'm a bit puzzled by the other low reviews for Lips, especially the one that said they were treated to rude/bad taste jokes. My experience could not be further from that. I loved the queens, especially Dirty Savannah Brown (sorry if I didn't get the name right). She was the ringleader for the night, doing everything from parading the brides to be to the birthday parade as well which in my opinion was a very long drag and lull for those who are not celebrating those events. There was a good many jokes, all of which are off-color. Because it IS a drag queen show, not your Sunday mass. If I were to ever visit a drag show that had "proper and PC" jokes I would probably leave, maybe its just me sense of humor or maybe it's knowing that this is one of the reasons people comes to shows like this! The queens also take turns dancing and singing, some lip-synching and one who did not (she did a great rendition of Whitney Houston). Our server even disappeared briefly only to reemerge on stage to entertain and sashay down the aisles, which is where most people were dancing. I was honestly a little sad when the queens took the stage one last time to thank us for coming, it felt like the 2 hours flew by and I wasn't really ready to stop having fun.

I went to Lips to celebrate my birthday with 11 friends. My great customer service began when Nichelle took my reservation. She was friendly, funny, professional and definately set the tone for my event!!! The place is GORGEOUS!!! The performers and staff and simple beautiful. They covered a wide range of songs to suite any age from 20's to 60's (on the night I went there was a 78 year old celebration her bday!!). One thing I did not see in any reviews was.......bring dollars for tipping the performers. They are well worth every penny as they start on stage and work their way through the entire crowd. Where they do that at!!!!!!!! Lips Atlanta!! After being entertained by Charlie Brown (The MC), you will leave with so many new catch phrases. We are planning to go back again very soon!

Who says girls are the only ones who can bring the glitz, glamour and stilettos out?!?! Well if you think that way, this is certainly NOT the place for you....these drag queens are feisty, fabulous, and have no problem letting you know just how well they can do it, and honestly, they're better at it than half the woman out there!!! I've been to one drag show before, and that was at the Baton Lounge in Chicago, and had a blast so thought why not check out our local queens for a girls night out. Pros: -Fabulous queens roaming all over, I mean these "ladies" were looking better than some woman do when they throw on their makeup and dresses, you could hardly tell they were men other than the fact the makeup was caked on a bit thick. - Atmosphere is as you would expect, loud, fancy, and lots of hooting and hollering, these ladies were kill in the stage. - Great performances, the ladies were working the stage to some of your favorite songs, Charlie Brown has hilarious and raunchy with her jokes, and the birthday and bachelorette special portion of the show was....well....let's just say "interesting" Cons: - Service is horrible, the performers are also your servers, so they're all over the place, in between being up on the stage, helping all the tables, keeping their outfits and makeup in check, it just led to very POOR and SLOW service. I was not happy about that, especially since you are REQUIRED to buy food, the least they could do was make sure the service was worth it. - I feel like it was all over priced to see the show at the end of the day. I mean I understand having a minimum for each person, but you have to pay cover of $5/$10 depending on the night you go, then you have $15 food minimum which again that would be fine, but it doesn't include drinks/alcohol, so it can end up being a pretty pricey night by the time you're done with it all. Additionally, make sure you have cash, because that will help settle your bills at the end of the night, as they don't do separate checks. I just felt that with their food minimum drinks should be allowed as part of that. - Besides the requirement to get food. I didn't think the food was really all that good, just okay. I ordered two appetizers: the spinach dip and Asian potstickers, the potstickers were pretty good, and the dip was okay. Anyways, all in all, I'm glad I can now say I've experienced it, because I've heard so much about this show.....Lips Atlanta, do your drag thing!!!! ;)

I wasn't sure exactly what to expect when I came to lips, but it sure is a vibrant show. The show was a bit brief, lasting approximately from 1.5-2 hours (started around 10 ish and ended a little before midnight) but it was the perfect amount of drag show one would need. Food left more to be desired and was very overpriced. I ordered the ahi tuna and it was NOT satisfying. When I asked for seared rare, I expect it to be rare not slightly pink in the middle! Bleck. The rice and the veggies served with the meal were also drenched in butter. Main point, skip the food, come for the show. Valet is free.

This was my second time going to Lips Atlanta and let me start by saying that the show is funny and very entertaining. Both of my visits were on a Friday night during the first show. Mr. Charlie Brown is hilarious. The only area that they could improve on is the food and drink. Now the service is great, especially seeing that the entertainers are also the waitresses. But the food and drinks need a lot of work, the drinks are very weak and the food has a lot to be desired. I would call it mediocre at best. I gave them two opportunities with the food before writing this review and after reading other reviews I guess that is the standard. I really hope the owners read these reviews and make improvements to the food and drinks. If they do, it will definitely be a 5 star establishment.

Great energy in this place! The ladies were FLAWLESS and show was entertaining! They re-mixed the lyrics to some songs for a...saucier vibe. Hilarious!!! They highlighted guests who were celebrating a special day in a cool way. Fun! The service was probably what I was most impressed by! They catered to us and the food was good, too. I'm trying the brunch next and I'm taking my mom! Priceless!

Went to Lips on a Friday with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. Things to know going into Lips... 1)there is a mandatory $10 cover charge per person on Friday/Saturday nights; 2)if your party is 10 or larger you will have to have a pre fixe menu that is $25 per person or with party 9 people or less you have a minimum food order of $15 per person. We made a reservation about a week and a half in advance. For large parties reservations are recommended, though the place was only half full. Our waitress was one of the performers, we did not have a pleasant encounter with her. {yelp won't let me post her name or many details, but the staff member was so out of line the manager apologized and gave everyone in my party a free ticket to return to another show....we're definitely not using them} Anyway, get the frozen cosmo...it's good and one is enough to get you tipsy. The food is ok. Some of the performers are really phoning it in. To begin with the show is relatively short, like 4 or 5 songs. About half of the performers are literally just walking around the floor holding their hand out for cash (you tip like at a strip show). Some of the people, like Justice, are really good showman and get into the act. ****If it is your birthday, they will give you a paper crown to wear, and call you up to the stage for a brownie and to take your picture. then they'll give you the picture later in the evening...what you don't know is that this isn't free. They charge you $10 for this, but they don't tell you this, they just do it. this is deceptive, you've been warned*** Paying is another beast at Lips. They don't split checks, seems like a silly policy for 2014. So you have to have cash or put it on up to 4 credit cards. Really this is just an ok experience...the show short and moderately entertaining, so-so staff, antiquated billing, but I can't imagine going here again or if not for an event like a birthday party or bachelorette party.

Went to Lips on New's Years Eve for the second show with a group of friends. We had a blast. When we walked in the door we were greeted right by the hostess. The place was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. Everyone that worked there from the servers, the runners, the bartenders and management all were nice and attentive to our tables needs and wants. The food was excellent. Very tasty. I not only ate what I ordered but ate off all my friends plates. So I had taste of a bit of everything. The drinks were great as well. Loved the music playlist they played. It had my table singing and dancing the entire night. The ladies performances were top notch. We were at a table next to the stage so we were able to be up close and personal. Charlie Brown had us in stitches all night. I recommend If you are looking for a good time to go to Lips. Will be going again. Looking forward to trying out the Bitchy Bingo night and the Sunday Gospel Brunch.

I went to Lips for my birthday. After reading some of the other reviews, I wasn't sure that it was going to be worth it. But it definitely was. Sure, it was overpriced, but it's in Atlanta. Everything is overpriced. The show was very entertaining and we had a great time. A few things to note: There is a $10 cover charge per person for Friday and Saturday nights (we went on a Friday). If you have less than 10 people, there is a $15 food minimum per person (more than 10 is $25 I think, we had 5 people). The food was actually pretty good, I thought. It was the equivalent to most bar food I've ever had. We ordered mostly appetizers and one entree to share amongst all of us. We had garlic bread, coconut shrimp, calamari, two of the combo appetizers which had chicken fingers, hot wings, pot stickers, crab cakes and spinach and artichoke dip, and one order of chicken fingers with fries. Nothing tasted bad to me. I actually really liked the shrimp and pot stickers. The chicken tasted like the kind you buy in the freezer section at the grocery store and heat in the oven but it was still fine. The drinks were $8.50 each and really good. I had the Drag-o-Rita, Kick the Bitch to the Curb, and Yvonne Lame' Frozen Cosmo. If it is your birthday, they give you a crown to wear during the show. They also call you up on stage, give you a brownie and insult you a little. It was quite funny and only moderately embarrassing for me. There is a $10 charge for this that is added to your bill. They don't tell you this but it is written on the menu. I knew this ahead of time from reading other reviews. If you don't want to be charged, don't tell them it is your birthday! My friends thought it was worth it to see me embarrassed. :) The performers were also the servers but we didn't experience any problems with getting our food. We ordered our drinks separately, directly from the bar each time. The only thing that took a little longer than we would have liked is getting our regular drinks re-filled. Overall, I was pleased with the service. The show itself lasted about an hour, which is what I expected as there were two shows that night. All in all, it was a great birthday experience that I will definitely never forget.

Chose Lips Atlanta to take mom for her 66th Birthday. We had a wonderful time we laughed sang and danced along with the show had an all around blast! They performers and staff where warm friendly and very entertaining our server Gia Sunflower was attentive and showed us a great time the energy was up beat and sassy classy I geuss you would say because there was adult orientated jokes but not raunchy. We had such a good time im pretty sure we will be returning for her Birthday next year

We had some friends invite us to go to Lips on New Years Eve. This was our first visit but it will not be our last! The entertainment is very good! Lots of fun and laughter. I really expected maybe an "average meal". Our whole party was impressed with the food. From the appetizers, through the main course and dessert everything was 5 star quality food! My husband and I had the filet mignon, it was delicious, as good as any high end restaurant. Ms. Charlie Brown is a hoot, and the entertainers give it their all. For a fun time with many laughs and great entertainment try this out. If you have never been to this type of show, go with an open mind these entertainers are amazing!! Also I want to compliment our servers, our food was delivered with the class of a 5 star restaurant and the staff is very attentive and engaging. The price of show and food is very reasonable. We will definitely go here again.

Lips of ATL compares to none! Fabulous doesn't begin to describe the place. 1st off, it's BEAUTIFUL INSIDE! The queens are fun and filled with entertainment. Plus, the food was to die for! I LOVE IT!

An amazing girls night out! The "ladies" that work here are phenomenal. Great service from the time we got out of the car! Food is tasty with large portions and the drinks are strong. I will definitely return when in the Atlanta area. Make sure to bring extra cash to tip...you'll want to because the performances are amazing!

Manager is a total a-hole. Made a reservation here for a bachelorette - all of our first times here. Called to confirm reservation and then all of a sudden was hold about an additional $10 cover fee per person. I politely explained to the manager we never told of this and then he proceeded to call me a liar and refused to even speak to me. Still wanted to try LIPS even after the horrible call with the manager - and they sat us in the back far away from everything. Show was funny - servers were okay and we were overcharged because server added additional items. very disappointed with my experience - especially after hearing such great reviews.

A total rip-off. Over-priced food, bad drinks and even worse table service. While some performers were very good- others just lip-synced and walked around to collect tips. The birthday and bridal photo ops took up the majority of the "show" and became rather boring. If you want a really fun, engaging, witty and entertaining drag show go to Blake's on the Park instead!

Had a blast at lips for my birthday! Go for the show and not the food. Actually, judgements aside, the fries were good. They won't split bills, but there's an atm on site. Parties of over 10 have a fixed price menu. Ten dollar cover and minimum 15.00 food order. Such a fun place for a bachelorette, birthday, or gno. Call to book in advance! I had a change in our reservation numbers and they were very accommodating.

I should preface this by saying that I know I'm not the target demographic for this place. 34 year old straight male here. We went for a friends birthday. The thing about this place is that, in a way, the fun feels a bit circled around the spectacle that is a dude in a dress. I feel this way because I've been to drag shows before where the girls sang and danced like MAD and it was fun as well but at Lips everyone just lip syncs and walks around the room. They talk dirty and I guess that's fun to your average soccer mom but to me it was boring. I should say that everyone working there was super nice. They have the performers serving tables so you see and talk to everyone before the show. When we ordered our drinks at the bar the drink I got was "Kick the Bitch to the Curb" and I started hiccuping what tasted like vomit almost immediately. When my wife was close to me her breath smelled like it too. It seemed like something in the drink was horribly bad. It tasted cheap to me. Same with every other drink we ordered. I had three drinks total and felt like I had a about 50 the next morning. I'm not sure what happened. They also don't split checks so your entire party has to bring cash. In my opinion everything was way expensive. I would never ever EVER accept this food quality from a 25$ dinner anywhere else. I guess watching dudes in dresses lip syncing makes up for it. I'm giving two stars purely because we had a great time. 99% of that was the company we went with and not the establishment at all.

Maine has got some broke-ass drag queens in comparison to the kind of big-haired, talented beauties that Atlanta boasts. Sorry, Maine, but it's true. And Lips is a glamorous, bedazzled venue worthy of them to hold court with hilariously named cocktails like the "Kick The Bitch To The Curb" and the "Drag-a-rita" that are fruity, brightly colored and freaking delicious. Here's how it works: You show up for your seating time and check in at the front desk. Then you sashay into the venue and have a drink or two at the bar with your girlfriends (or boyfriends but probably girlfriends) while you wait for your party to be seated. Once you are shown to your table, your server will check in with you, dressed like a red carpet vixen and will quip something sassy at you making you laugh and blush. But you won't mind because you'll be mesmerized by the sequins on her tatas. You'll order something so gayly named that you're too ashamed to admit you don't get the reference and then the show will begin. A snarky grande dame will take the stage and threaten to teach you things you'll never forget. There will be head snapping, there will be ass jiggling, there will be cartwheels, and there will be humiliation of every birthday girl and bridesmaid. You'll whip out your dollar bills and shove them into the cleavage of a queen bee who puts Diana Ross to shame and you'll roll on the floor in laughter as the bridesmaids are forced to take BJ shots on their knees in front of a live studio audience. And then, while your head is still reeling and your cheeks are still sore from laughing, the lights will come up and you'll pay the bill. And then you'll climb into the back of your friend's SUV, brush the cracker crumbs off the seat, and settle in among the squeaky kids toys and diaper bags to head home to your manicured, Wonder bread suburb. Lips is fantastic fun and it's perfectly suited to the slightly-out-of-your-comfort-zone hetero who wants to laugh and have a riotous night out. They serve good food, great drinks, and they give you a fantastic show. Once you've whet your appetite with the show at Lips, you'll be primed and ready for the raunchier dive bar shows your swinging uncle Bob always talks about. In fact, take your uncle Bob, he'll have a hell of a good time!

First the good news, this place is a blast! this is my second time going, we were a party of 15 for my daughters 21st birthday party last night, we couldn't have had more fun. So thank you for that, Charlie Brown is and has always been amazing. However this is also the 2nd time I have been overcharged for my bill - therefore this is what I am reviewing, Our bill came to 485.00 in which I gave the waitress Justice 400 cash and asked her to ring the rest on the card, at which time she returned to tell me she had rang it on the card, OK, so I will just take the cash back and deposit in bank no biggie, until I get home and discover they then ran another charge on my account for 585.00. Sadly, the same exact thing happened the first time I went where I was double charged. We were extremely generous with tipping during the show as well as leaving out waitress Justice with another 100.00 tip as well. But to come home AGAIN and discovery an additional mistake is upsetting. I called first thing Sunday morning to speak with a manager at which time I have been told they cant come to the phone..... If you go, bring cash, allowing them to deal with your credit card is too much of a problem. So now I wait till Monday to call my bank. :(

I'm a fan. This place is the best. When I heard "drag queens on Buford Highway," my expectations were low. Then driving up and seeing it's next to an adult toy store and the Pink Pony strip club, well.... I took my mom and sister-in-law here for the early show on a Friday night and had THE BEST time. Mark and the entire fabulous house of performers, servers and bartenders really did a good job of taking care of us, especially since one of us was disabled. From Bob in valet to Nicole our server, to the guy running the spotlight who told us about his grandma, to Mr. Charlie Brown personally welcoming us...everyone was kind, welcoming, accommodating. Inside is over-the-top in terms of decor. I couldn't stop staring at the high-heeled shoe sculptures over the bar or the groupings of glitter balls. The interiors were like a palace dedicated to metallics, stripes, harlequin, pink and everything a little girl would love to play in. Spacious, glitzy and convertible to accommodate all kinds of audience sizes, I loved the interior. The minus: The cocktails were great, but you better like things sweeeet if you order the "Kick the Bitch to the Curb." The food is the only thing that knocked off one of these stars. For us, the artichoke dip was over-salted and the "Nicole Paige Brooks" pasta dish and my mom's chicken Caesar salad left a lot to be desired. But again, feeling special and like invited guests (rather than paying customers) is what will have Lips Atlanta getting my business again. In fact, my mom is already planning her next trip with her crew of girlfriends. An evening with drag queens was just the shot of positive energy we desperately needed. If you need the same, get thee to the Palace of Drag called Lips Atlanta.

I read the reviews before going last night (Friday) for a friend's bday. I wasn't sure what to expect from the mixed reviews but it ended up being really great. Our waitress was attentive even though it was packed. I had the Kick A Bitch from the bar and it was really good! And the food at the table was hit or miss. Two of our party sent theirs back, and the staff wasn't nasty about it. They didn't charge for it. As for the rest of us, the food ranged from alright to pretty good. The stuffed chicken was really good. We were a party of 12, and the check wasn't an issue because from reading the reviews we all knew to bring cash (to simplify paying at the end and also to tip the performers!!!) Now, the performance was AMAZING. I've been to tons of drag bars in DC and NYC and the girls Lips Atlanta were very impressive, to say the least. Charlie Brown was EV ER Y THING! So, yeah, you're definitely paying more so for the entertainment experience, but it's worth it. I wasn't disappointed. It's a good place to celebrate a bday or engagement. They do something special for everyone celebrating and it's very cute. I'm gonna go back soon to see what the gospel brunch is hitting for!

Food is just borderline ok, I ordered the Pasta on Vodka sauce and it was tasteless, left 3 stars because it's actually a pretty good show. But I would never again pay $25 for a tasteless pasta dish.

Absolutely loved the show! Easy to book reservations over the phone which book up quickly so plan accordingly. Complimentary valet in the parking lot. You walk inside and it's beautifully decorated and elaborate. They seat everyone promptly and waitresses show you to the table and get drinks started right away. Most people arrive before they start seating so you can start drinking at the bar ahead of being seated. The food is good. Not great, but tasty and somewhat similar food to what you would eat at a chain restaurant. Plenty of time to eat before the show starts. We went on Saturday night so the star performer was Mr. Charlie Brown. Absolutely amazing performer! They did a rendition of songs both new and old school. The best was "Get here if you can"- everyone was cracking up with the dirty lyrical substitutes. You can tip the performers as they make their way through the audience. The show lasts an hour and half way through they do the birthday/ Bachelorette celebrations. Basically a roast on the person as they pose for a picture and blow out the candles. You pay $10 for the celebrations, $10 cover charge and $15 food minimum per person. Can only split checks on a max of 4 credit cards so it's easier to all bring cash and combine at the end. Throughout the show you can grab a server while the performers are going around singing and they will bring you more drinks/food. Pay at the end of the show. Adds up quickly; expect about $75-100 per person all inclusive of food, booze and tipping for the night. Well worth the price & a great night out. Thank you Divas! Will be back again soon:-)

Praise the Lord and Hallelujah for Sunday Gospel brunch at Lips! The ladies leave behind the fishnet and sequins and don their church finery (including some gorgeous hats) to serve and entertain for about an hour, starting at 1:30 p.m. Before our outing to Lips, I was a drag show virgin. I'm proud to say that's no longer the case, and that I lost my innocence in the most faaaaabulous way, dahling. The entertainment had me rolling on the floor (no doubt helped by the generous pours of mimosa that are dirigeur for a classy brunch, in my opinion!). Here's the skinny: - Make a reservation. The place was packed with about 70 people for brunch the day we went. - Plan to spend at least $20 plus tax and tip. Your brunch entree plus either a mimosa or a bloody mary will be $15, and there's a $5 entertainment fee for Sunday brunch. - Additional drinks are just $2 each (and if your server is like ours, you probably won't be charged for all of them). - Bring some singles to tip the performers, if you like. It's a lot more fun if you get into it! - Sunday brunch is self-parking instead of valet. The food is decent, humor is bawdy, and the drinks are flowing. Why aren't you already there?

I was tempted to give 3 stars but it's such a unique experience I had to give it 4. Went to the gospel brunch. Staff is hilarious, nice, and fun. Unfortunately our food came out late and luke-warm. I can at least still say it was delicious, and the muffins and unlimited mimosas didn't hurt either. As for the talent, most were entertaining, some not so much. Be sure to bring dollars for the ones you want to show your appreciation to. I'd really be interested in going back but for Bitchy Bingo or one of their weekend evening shows. Sunday was nice to not have to do valet parking, however.

Lots of fun! Food is ok but you're there for the entertainment anyway. They messed up our drink orders multiple times and our food came out incorrect, too. I would come back but only because the show was entertaining.

This place is fun with a whole lot of energy! The decor is unique and appropriate for the show and the host is a hoot. All of the wait staff/performers are fun and very attentive. Its really a good time to be had by all. But, be aware.....the food is not great at all. There is a $15 food, not drink, minimum so you will likely spend a lot for a pretty medicore meal. The caveat is that the show is so much fun that you won't be upset by the bill. All and all, I would do it again for a special event or evening out with the girls!

Went here for NYE and it was amazing! It was so much better than I had hoped for. The show was so entertaining, the food was delicious and the drinks were flowing. I spent the whole time grinning. It was an incredible experience that anyone who finds themselves in Atlanta should have. Bring some dollar bills for tips- not necessary but the extra attention from the performers really enhances the experience!

This is exactly what Atlanta needed -- a comfortable place for talented drag queens to practice their art and share it with the world. We made reservations for Gospel Brunch (Sunday) opening weekend this past Sunday. We had a group of 12 and had a fantastic time -- the drag queens took us to church and back. First, the space -- you notice at the valet that this is going to be something special inside. The owners did such a great job with renovating the space (I'm not sure what it was before) and creating a true palace to celebrate the queens that work there. Second, the food -- surprisingly good...the brunch menu is on the limited side in terms of options, but the choices are good and everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their brunch. There were some service issues and I'm sure after a few weeks these will be ironed out. The very noticeable service hiccups came when ordering drinks. Third, the entertainment -- as I said, these queens took us to church and back. It was apparent that the performing queens love their art and sharing it with the audience. The host (Bubba D. Licious) was funny, quick witted, but a touch on the nervous side it seemed. The performances ranged from modern gospel to traditional gospel numbers -- it was ah-maz-ing. There were several standout numbers that I hope stay in the rotation from month-to-month. The queens were LIVING and we were living with them on Sunday. I would highly recommend Lips and I look forward to returning -- this isn't an every weekend spot, but definitely a fun spot to start your Sunday Funday every few months. I look forward to checking out other nights of the week/weekend. Looking for some fun, check out Lips, trust and believe you won't regret it.

I went for a birthday party and the birthday girl and our table had fun but this place is entirely OVERPRICED. 1. On a Saturday night, you will receive a fixed menu (you get a salad, one entree option, and a small dessert) for $25. I am a strict vegetarian and I couldn't have the salad (it was a Caesar salad) or the dessert (red velvet something...) and the only vegetarian option was a ravioli dish. I paid $25 for 8 raviolis in a Kraft Mac and Cheese Alfredo sauce. This is not a good spot for vegetarians!!! 2. Because it was a Saturday night, you have to pay $10. This is their cover charge. Every other night of the week, you are obligated to pay the $5 cover charge. 3. The drinks are not as good as everyone else claims. Not worth it. All in all, there were some good performers but I will not go again. I ended up spending $55 on a terrible meal. If you do go, make sure you bring cash! They do not split checks.

The drinks are spot on; not death defyingly strong like some mentioned....they must be used to theirs being watered down. We did not expect the food to be so good; assumed it was all about the show and less about cuisine...we were very surprised with the dishes. As soon as our group of 14 were seated we had 4 servers asking for our drink order, drinks received within 10 minutes, then we ordered apps and dinner. Our group ordered a wide variety, favorites included: Apps: calamari, pot stickers, and artichoke dip; served hot and big enough to share with 4 people. Entrees: Boneless grilled chicken over mash potatoes, grilled salmon with choice of veggies, spaghetti bolognese, the filet and the burger. All were nice size portions, well seasoned, and no one felt cheated or hungry. The service was fantastic! They brought everyones meal out together; did not let a glass go empty or allow an empty dish take up space. Highly recommend it for birthday parties!

The good: The decor was beautiful, very flashy and over the top. The drink names were great, not overpriced, and STRONG! We had frozen drinks, and blow-job shots; the shots came in glasses shaped like lips. The queens were very entertaining, and you could tell how much they loved their jobs. Great atmosphere. The bad: The food. I ordered the coconut shrimp, and they were black. Anyone who has ever worked in a kitchen knows this happens when the grease doesn't get changed regularly. I had the appetizer sampler also, and it was sort of gross. The chicken strips might as well had been large chicken mcnuggets, the artichoke/spinach dip was cold and slightly hard, the crab cakes were cold and I would have guessed re-heated in the microwave from the night before. The dipping sauces were just bad. The Great: Charlie Brown! She is still the queen of Atlanta! I was so surprised to see her there, and she made us laugh until we cried. I wish I could remember a couple of the other girls names who performed, but I can't. Besides Charlie Brown the queen who impressed me the most was a black female who wore short hair and a blue sequin dress. Her figure was to die for, as were her skills as an entertainer. I will definitely go again, but will eat somewhere else beforehand. Unless they invest in a better chef, or something along those lines. (We were at the 630 pm showing on Friday, May 2)

I'm going to give it two stars instead of one star because I did enjoy the entertainment, and the place itself is attractive. That being said, I ordered wild mushroom ravioli for $15.95. They brought me a dish with 8 raviolis on it that were not even as big as the raviolis you would get out of a can of Chef Boyardee. I swear this plate contained no more than 4 ounces of food total. Went with a party of people...the slapped a $7.00 cover on the bill, and charged an automatic 20% gratuity, making this meal total out to $26.00 before taxes. I have never in my life spent $26.00 on a meal where I walked out of the restaurant starving afterward. No salad or sides came with it....just 8 very (VERY) small raviolis on a plate....and not even all that tasty. A total gyp. Had I been alone, instead of with a party, I would have sent this meal back as unsatisfactory in a heartbeat. Then, the bill came....they refused to split it for us, and we had to sit there figuring everything out....a giant pain in the behind. Overall, good entertainment or not, I left feeling I did not get my money's worth on any level, and I will not be returning, nor will I recommend this establishment.

I really wanted to love the place because it's beautiful inside and the drag queens were dressed to the nines and did an excellent job, never breaking character. BUT, at the end of the day, I honestly can't say this [particular visit] was money well spent. I really enjoyed the performance and I was there with a party of four on a Friday night. To me, for a show and dinner, the $15 minimum food order is reasonable and I also don't mind the $7 weekend cover since they provide entertainment. But that wasn't the problem. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. I took so many pictures of it before the show even started. There is a lot of attention to detail and it is really shiny, glittery, colorful, and happy. The show was entertaining for customers who are new to drag shows, but if you have spent any time in the colorful LGBT scene in Atlanta you will realize it wasn't TOO over the top. Although I will say the drag queens here did an AMAZING job with their hair and makeup and outfits and the Emcee was hysterical. I wish I had known to bring singles/cash to tip the performers. I didn't realize this was customary but I noticed many other people in the venue were surprised by this as well. I'll know for next time though. The service was absolutely deplorable. The food was mediocre which I expected since it was so packed in there and they obviously have to mass-produce it to get it out before the show starts. But one member of our party was missing their entree for thirty minutes after we all got ours. We all put our orders in at the same time and we had to ask FOUR different servers and a manager before we finally got the entree, immediately before the show began. I should also mention that our server was also one of the performers which irked me because I felt like they were more concerned with their performance than attending our dining and drink needs (they should have at least had supplemental servers which they did for the larger parties but not the smaller groups). When we got our bill at the end I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. They had charged us for nearly $40 worth of items that we never even ordered (including an extra entree, a salad, and two drinks). How does that even happen?? It was like they just ran all the checks and slapped all the stray items that they couldn't remember who ordered them onto our check. That was egregious enough of an error to make me give this place two stars. Because like...how do you screw it up THAT bad? That combined with the entree coming out thirty minutes later than the rest (not to mention all of ours were cold when we received them and then had to wait) was just not a good consumer experience. I would really like to try the Sunday brunch as that seems like it would be a better value and a good Sunday Funday type activity. And I really did like the venue, the drag queens, and the atmosphere. If they would fix the service aspect of the restaurant, it would be five stars for sure and I would definitely recommend to visitors to Atlanta, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, etc. Lips, please pay attention to the service experience from the point of view of a paying customer because everything else was on point! I want to try the brunch and I will gladly update my star value if I have a better experience next time.

We.ordered appetizers and more drinks. The show started and we laughed and danced we gad a great time laughing at the jokes! I would def go again. The tab is one check it.wasnt messed up. I celebrated my birthday here and it was a blast! The drag queens were very entertaining and it was a really fun atmosphere. They have you come up on stage and blow out a candle on a cupcake. The food isn't much to write home about, but the point of going is not the food - it's the experience. Plus, don't expect 5 star service from the drag queens. The drinks were good at least. The drag queens were talented and the host was very funny (and did a very good Cher).

I love love love Lips ATL! (The Queens) are very animated and funny! They put on a wonderful show, that keeps you intrigued and entertained! However.....the drinks are good but not that strong. You would need a good 3 or 4 drinks to feel a buzz. The food isn't that great so I would advise those interested in going to eat before they go. Other than that it's a amazing, hilarious show you wouldn't want to miss! Although you can dress casual, I would recommend dressy attire.

This was the worst birthday I ever had, I paid $100 for racist jokes and easy Mac. Then they BLOCKED me from their Facebook profile after I wrote an honest comment!! WHAT A JOKE! Do not go to this establishment!

I didn't know what to expect but this place went beyond my expectations. RESERVATIONS are a must!! I called at the last minute and couldn't get a table so we sat at the bar. The staff was very nice. Food and drinks were awesome I was laughing the whole time and some of my friends even got up to dance. I would definitely go back for another birthday!

The food is boring and predictable (and salty). The drinks taste like kool-aid. When your food comes out you have to tell the waitstaff who got what, evidently it's too much trouble for them to note the table positions. Don't expect to get any drink orders filled during the show since your waitress is in the show (or getting ready for the show) and the rest of the waitstaff are basically food runners and busboys. Plan on spending 15-20 mins after the show to figure out the bill -- this is a NEW restaurant and there are plenty of restaurant management software packages which make accommodating a mix of separate checks painless for the staff and the customers. The entertainment is slightly better than the average bar drag show and is PERFECT for drag newbies, but for those of us who have seen it all before... not that impressive. It's a fun space and certainly worth one visit, but not a repeat visit.

We had a group of 10 last night for a friend's birthday and it was honestly one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a venue of this type. When you go to a drag show with dinner, you expect a little attitude from the queens. But when a place gets billed as the "ultimate in drag dining," I expect the *dining* to at least be edible. The food was cold, bland, and tasteless while being RIDICULOUSLY expensive. There were also *hidden* fees and minimums all over the place. When our friend made the reservation, it was not mentioned that there would be a $5 cover for each guest above & beyond the $15/pp minimum on food/drink. They pulled the birthday girl on stage with all other celebrants and then charged $10 for the "celebration" which included being put on stage, a piece of cake, and a photo. We had a member in our party who could not eat *anything* on the menu. When our group's hostess tried to speak to the Asst. Mgr. on duty, he was beyond rude and dismissive. He was not willing to work with us at all to either waive the $15 minimum or have the chef make something that would work for that guest. As someone who does Operations for restaurants, I can tell you this is NOT how you treat guests. I can confidently say that the show and performers were great (albeit half the show was talking and not performances). However, this group of 10 will never be back to the establishment. It's sad really because it could have gone a completely different way.

First visit was fun! I've heard so much about the place over the past year and decided to treat some friends from out of town to dinner and a show. Booking was fairly easy over the phone. They do have many policies and requirements that must be fulfilled, from cancellation policy, to cover charge and minimum purchases per person. The food was very average, but reminded me of a catered event. Staff was fun and very friendly. During the show, the birthday and social recognitions took a REALLY long time. It's nice they bring each celebrant on stage, but takes a very long time. I'd like to see more show and less "filler".

This was my first time and I loved it. The Sunday gospel brunch was amazing. The fixed price of 14.95 was not for everything. The steak is actually 17.95. I didn't know that until the bill came. If you go with a group it's best to have cash for the bill. They don't spilt checks. Bring dollars for tipping the girls as they come dancing and singing around your table. This was truly a fun experience. I loved the opening act. That diva at the door is hilarious!!! It's a must see

I would give this place no stars if I could. I have been twice and both times it was not worth the money. The first time it was a fun experience because I have never been around drag queens before but the food and service were HORRIBLE. I went a 2nd time because my friend really wanted to go for her birthday. Our server "Aria" came to the table ONCE the entire time. We ordered drinks and didn't get them for an hour. Our food was horrible. The chicken was frozen and the mashed potatos were hard. When the bill came it was over $400. My friend went on stage for her birthday and they charged $10 for that. Some of us ordered water and sprite and got charged $5 for the cup. We also got charged for more meals than we ordered and drinks that we ordered and they never came. We were so pissed about the bill and terrible service that we only left a 5% tip. The server we had came up to us as we were leaving and demanded a better tip. She told us we could not leave and called the manager over and other drag queens came over to gang up on us and demand we tip them more. When we expressed how unhappy we were with everything we were told "oh well, you should still tip us more. we deserve it." I am a server and I have been stiffed more times than i can count but it is NEVER okay to demand a tip especially when the service is shitty. I understand that they also perform but even that wasnt worth the money. The lip syncing was off and all they do is walk up and down the aisles with their hands out asking for money. I will never set foot in Lips again. It was a terrible experience.

The most fun you can seriously have in Atlanta! My group of 8 girlfriends and I went for the Sunday gospel brunch which yes you need to make ressies a few days in advance to participate in. The phone operator was friendly, helpful and humorous and reviewed pricing with me in advance. Doors opened at 1230 so you have time to get a drink at the bar and soak in all the glittery ambiance! The decor is nothing less than over the top- make sure you bring your camera. The food was tasty but I didn't expect over the top cuisine since the pp was $15 which included a Bloody Mary or mimosa. Pretty good deal if you ask me! There's a $5 entertainment fee and bring some ones to tip the ladies and got valet. After the show the ladies pose for pics and are a riot. Again a must do to wake up any sleepy Sunday!

This is the place to celebrate! I've been for a Bachelorette party and a Birthday party and had a blast both times. These ladies bring it and the food and drinks are pretty good. Excellent for large parties. Make a reservation for parties of two or more (yes 2 or more) unless you prefer to sit at the bar. It seems if you book early, you get better seating. They have a great way to make birthday people and bachelorettes feel special. :) You'll have to visit to know what I'm talking about. Enjoy!

These are some seriously "FIT" Drag Queens. We had a ton of fun and the show was very entertaining. I don't think anyone can turn down Drag Bingo on a Weds night ;) Anyway, we had a surprise B-Day party there with about 15 people and they did a great job overall. We had the seared ahi tuna and it was cooked perfectly rare. I would have liked more vegetables, but overall I can't complain. This is a great place to go if you want to do something different than your standard group celebration.

That one star is for the actual show (& two staff members mentioned below). They did an amazing job and if it weren't for that, I would have left waaaaaay before the show began. The service was horrible and the food was just as bad. We were required to beg for the attention of another table's waitress because our waitress decided not to even acknowledge us. This was around the time they announced that the show would begin. We received our drinks and they were ok...a little to sweet for our taste but we drank them. We figured maybe our "assigned" waitress would notice that we gained the attention of another waitress and maybe obtain our orders. Nope. Meanwhile, other tables are already starting to get their dinner. Waitress after waitress passes by our table without a word. We ask one of the busboys if we could get some water for the table...sure. Never came. Finally, another waitress stops by to take our order. Not to mention, the hostess begins. EVERYONE has a plate (& pitcher of water) in front of them except our table. They take note of our appetizer orders. We politely requested water, again. Did it ever come? Nope, but some of the most disgraceful appetizers arrive. Deep fried, frozen food...just a guess. They took our dinner orders & again, someone politely asked for a pitcher of water. Take a wild guess. Our food arrived, which neither one of us finished because it was THAT disgusting and/or mediocre. Please tell me, why does this place charge as much as they do for such bad food? We ended up requesting another round of drinks, just basic drinks...figured we would be asking for too much of the establishment. Yes, we received them. The show was great but it sucked that we couldn't pay much attention to the early performances, due to being ignored for such a long period of time. I just want to thank the queen that performed as Tina Turner because without her kindness and willingness to acknowledge a table that wasn't even her table, we probably wouldn't be waited on, at all. Her performance was perfect and I made sure that she received tips from each one of us, regardless of the service she provided to our table. In addition, thanks to Taylor (?) for making up for the shi**y customer service. I didn't mention that it was my birthday celebration and that the facility completely "forgot" to recognize it until my friend left the table to inform the facilitator of the show. She shouldn't have to because I made it clear while making the reservations and when we walked through the door, at 7pm. I completely understand that the queens are basically running the entire show (& the busboys are handling the lights). I salute them all! However, there is no excuse for such deplorable food and service. It's freaking 2015...that's basically what running a business is all about. Hell, even hospitals are driven by customer service now! You are expected to arrive at 7pm, seated between 7:30p and 8:15p, and showtime starts at 8:45p. That means we waited an hour and forty-five minutes between arriving and ORDERING our food! A cover charge, $15 food/drink minimum, extra for the birthday service, performance tips (understandable), and an EXPECTED 18-20% gratuity charge in the end? Not worth it and not deserved, at all! And no, we never received our water...not even one glass!

This was my second experience at Lips so I knew what to expect or so I thought. We were at the second show for New Years Eve and the show itself was much longer and the performers had so much energy. The performers are also your servers so a long night of double duty! For this night, it was a pre-fixe menu which actually was great because I knew what I wanted within a minute and didn't have to stare at the menu for a while to decide. Just takes that work out and enjoy the environment and the people that you came with. I was honestly surprised at how good the food was after my first visit. I had the crab cakes which had a little kick to them. One of my friends liked those so much he started eating off other people's plates. For the main course I had the filet mignon cooked Medium and it was perfect. I don't eat steak very often so this was a treat and it did not disappoint. I don't remember what the desert was but it was good. Not too sweet! By that point I had a few (okay a lot) of drinks and shots. Our server was awesome. She was attentive and fun and really make our night. Actually anyone that walked by was willing to help, get another drink for you, clear your table, take a photo or just say Hey! I can't wait to go back on my next visit to Atlanta. I'm thinking either the Bitchy Bingo or the a Sunday Gospel Brunch. Thank you Lips for helping make my New Years Eve one of the best in the past few years.

My husband and I visited Lips for the first time on New Year's Eve. We had the time of our lives! The food was fantastic. The drinks were great and of course the show was amazing! The manager Stephen was constantly monitoring and assuring that guests were having a great time! We will definitely be back!!! If you want to see a great drag show without the smoke and bother of a bar, you should definitely check this place out!!!!

The queens treated me like a queen on my birthday! My friends and I had the best time. The cocktails were good and strong and the food (coconut shrimp and potstickers) was pretty tasty. Great entertainment and a fun game of "bitchy bingo" made for a wonderful evening with the "ladies"

I really wanted to like this place. The good: the show with Charlie Brown was fantastic and the decor of the place was beautiful, including nice bathrooms. The bad: tables way to close and uncomfortable, food was hotel chicken type and nothing great, the service was terrible. We did the late show and arrived on time but after eating waited another 45 minutes for the latecomers to show before the show started. No one came and refilled drinks or checked on our food. I might give it another chance in a year or so but not until I hear service gets better.

I went to LIPS last Thursday and the ladies( Cher, Lady Gaga, Wynona Judd, Tina Turner) were very entertaining! I definitely want to see them again! I probably will eat somewhere else first and just sit at the bar to enjoy the drinks and the entertainment. The food was not so good and not worth the price.

Dinner at Lips is highly entertaining for sure. Lips is located on Buford Highway directly in front of the Pink Pony. It seems like a sort of random location for a dinner drag show theatre, but then again I guess anything flies on Buford Highway. I went over the weekend with friends as part of a girls night out. The restaurant is valet parking only (again kind of random for Buford Highway). We were greeted by a super friendly hostess and presumably the manager when we arrived. We were 15 minutes early on purpose, so the hostess escorted us to the bar. I normally can't stand fruity liquor drink concoctions, but it just felt appropriate to order a pink drink here. We made some small talk with the bartender, but honestly I was too busy taking in the interior décor of Lips. Wow! If your favorite color is glitter, then the interior of Lips is absolutely amazing. Chandeliers, sequins, rhinestones, disco balls, glitter, pink, purple everywhere! It kind of reminded me of the grown up and gay version of the Eloise at the Plaza suite in NYC, and I mean that in the best way possible. We were seated promptly at 7:00. One glance around the dining room and it was obvious everyone else was there for either a birthday or bachelorette party. The food was significantly better than expected. We ordered calamari for the table to start with, and let's be honest, it's hard to mess up fried calamari. There were a lot of pasta and chicken dishes to choose from. I'm not huge on either of those options, so I thought I'd be brave and try the filet mignon. It's $27 for a hearty filet with asparagus and fingerling potato sides. I ordered it medium rare. It came out medium, but all and all it was a huge portion of food and pretty tasty. My friends both had the steak frites and seemed to enjoy their dinner as well. I was driving for the evening, so I didn't have anything else to drink. That would have been fine, except our server never brought me a water. That was a first. My friends had more fruity cocktails and shots in silly lips shotglasses, and they raved that the drinks were strong. Service was fine but not exceptional by any means. However, I was completely willing to overlook the lack of water because this is the first time I've ever had a man in a wig, sequined dress, and heels serving me. Now for the show itself: It was thoroughly entertaining. Your waiters (not really sure what is appropriate here) are also your entertainment. They perform and lip sync to the sort of tunes expected including Pink's "Get This Party Started." The audience was very engaged and into the performances. The show's emcee, Mr. Charlie Brown, was sharp witted and hilarious. Joan Rivers comes to mind. All of the celebrating people were invited up on stage to get their pictures taken wearing a crown with a diva. All of the queens had way better moves and more cleavage than I could ever dream of showcasing in a sequined gown. We all left smiling from ear to ear after the performance. There is a $7 show charge per person added to the bill. Lips also offers bitchy bingo, celebrity impersonation, and gospel brunch. All of the above sound equally entertaining, and I would definitely go back. I can't imagine actually becoming a Lips regular, but I think this is definitely a fabulous place to celebrate or entertain an out of town guest. Atlanta needed a place like this for sure.

I went last night with the hubs and had a pretty good time. They say you have to make a reservation, but when we went there were about 15% empty tables on a Saturday night. I would make a reservation just in case, but I wouldn't be surprised if they sat walk ins once all the reservations were seated. Once the place gets more popular (which it will) I could see reservations being essential. You check in for your reservation and are seated. A drag queen or two are your waitresses. I think they work in pairs so there's no gap in service while they're onstage. Food service is very quick but drink service at your table is not. I think the bar was very backed up. The drinks are BIG and STRONG! The "Kick the Bitch to the Curb" was delicious! We had the pot stickers and calamari for appetizers, and the stuffed chicken breast and pork chip for entrees. Most of the food was hot and pretty good, but our pot stickers were lukewarm and my husband's broccoli was cold. I'm sure it's kitchen expo issue they'll notice and solve soon. Otherwise we were very happy with our dinner! We had the chocolate tart for dessert which was very yummy, served with vanilla ice cream. You eat the majority of the meal before the show starts and they play music videos on screens around the club to keep you amused. The show is really fun, and Charlie Brown is a great headliner. The space is very clean and nice. Lots of chandeliers and disco balls make the space feel like a party. The only gripes I have are these: 1. We arrived before they were ready to seat anyone and were told to have a drink at the bar and they would come get us. When they were ready, the front door people were seating the new walk-ins first and not the people who had already checked in for their reservation. Shouldn't the first people there have first choice of table? Why punish the early people and make them stand around and reward the late-comers with immediate seating? We sat around for 15 minutes after seating started! I was a little offended by that. I think they need some kind of number or buzzer system. 2. If we hadn't looked over our check thoroughly, we wouldn't have noticed that they charged us for 3 Saturday night show covers, and 1 Friday night show cover. There were only 2 of us! They would have double charged us for our show fee! Also, there was an extra drink on the tab. Seriously, check your bill carefully. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was an honest mistake. The waitress fixed it immediately without argument. The show cover is $7/person, added onto your bill. It's a really great place for birthdays and bachelorette parties! They bring birthday people onstage and give them a cupcake with a candle to blow out. They brought the bachelorettes onstage and had a fun little shot-taking competition. I will definitely go again!

This was my first drag show and I'm so grateful it was at Lips! The girls are amazing entertainers as well as hosts/servers. We went for the Sunday Brunch. The menu had a good selection. I had the chicken & waffles, which was amazing! The chicken was well seasoned & juicy. The performance was so much fun & the energy was positive/high. They even gave the crowd tambourines. It was amazing. I can't wait to go back!

My experience was solid OK. Everything from the food, to the service, to the show was ok - not terrible, but definitely not amazing either. The food was way overpriced and not pretty mediocre. There is a $15 food minimum, which was a bit of an issue b/c we went to the 10pm show, which was a little late for some in our party to be eating. One asked if she could just pay $15 and not order food since she didnt want to go to waste - they told her their focus was on being a restaurant, so they didnt allow that. The fact is, if their focus is on the restaurant, they are failing, because the food is definitely not something anyone would go back for. I took the $15 minimum as a disguised cover charge, so I wasn't bothered by the minimum - until the bill came and there was a $10 cover charge IN ADDITION to the food minimum. Which I had not been informed of. That bothered me a lot that they had both, and that I hadn't been told. The service was okay, our server was nice, but two people got the wrong entree. Again, if their focus is on the restaurant, than that is a pretty big issue. Then our server disappeared for quite a long time and I realized it was because she was getting ready for her stage number. It would've been nice if there had been more coverage during that portion. As for the entertainment, again is was okay. They all looked great, but the performances were mostly some bad lip syncing, which didnt really get me excited. I thought they were all the warmup and the real good performers were coming later in the evening, but the show was over very quick. There were two long segments with people who were having bachelorette or birthday parties there. The whole place is clearly aimed at that demographic. Since the focus is on large parties, you would think they would be better at splitting up checks. Figuring out how much everyone owed was not fun, especially since no one realized there was an additional $10 charge on there. Overall, I was able to make the most & enjoy myself, but I don't think I have any need to go back, and would have a hard time recommending it to most of my friends.

I have been to both the brunch on Sunday as well as a dinner on Saturday night. Both times I had an excellent experience. The show was extremely entertaining and the food was very good. The menu is limited, but the options are still good. It is adult fun, so keep the kids at home. You must have a reservation and do it in advance because the shows fill up. It would be perfect for a birthday or bachlorette party.

This place is fun and a great place to go to celebrate a birthday or party... But, the food is not good! I ordered salmon and received a BREADED piece that had been warmed up. Reservations are a pain.

We went tonight and we will be back. We were assigned to Nichole's table (hope spelled her name right). She served up some great food, great drinks and also served up some wonderful performances. Her Whitney Houston was amazing and had everyone pushing their seats back to dance. Everyone at Lips Atlanta really just seemed to want to make sure everyone had a good time. Constant attention and just so friendly and fun. They encourage pictures (got mine next to the flawless Nichole), the decor is great, bathrooms are clean and just can't really say anything but good on our experience. These ladies are a class act:) Let go of any ideas on needing to be gay, straight, male, female, married, single.....whatever...this place is for anyone and everyone that enjoys a great time and great people. Thanks Gaga, Cher, Whitney, Tina and Pink for a fab night.

Girl's Night Out was a blast last Saturday! We were seated all the way in the back but still had a great view of the stage. I am not sure how seating is decided but we are planning to go back and next time will request to be closer to the stage. The Queens were in full force and were WORKING IT! We had a party of six and everyone had a ball. TheY messed up on two food orders but other than that everything was seamless. We had a blast and are planning to return next month. Regina, Whitney, Lady GaGa and Beyonce tore the house down! I loved the host, she visited our table twice throughout the night. It was an awesome experience. The food was good too, I ordered chicken tenders and fries. Can't go wrong with that. Haa! Good crowd mix as well. Definitely need to experience this!

Had an awesome time during the holidays. Everyone was friendly. The decor is super cute. Glitter explosion and bright colors. But tasteful. Very nice place and I highly recommend 1 star for decor. Another star goes to the entertainment. Fun group but it's kinda tight for the performers moving in between tables.Awesome that they give you stage time and let you sit in a regal chair to be the queen or king for your birthday, bachelorette, bah mitzvah or whatever you're celebrating. Another star for food. Hey I wasn't expecting it to be good, but it was tasty. I had the seared ahi tuna and I would actually go back to lips just to eat! Had a great time and would go back. Couldn't give it 5 stars because they don't split tabs and it's a pain for a large party to be sure to make ATM runs prior to going to Lips!

Just celebrated my sister's 50th birthday tonight at Lips. The greeting at the door was warm and welcoming. We ate dinner elsewhere, so no comments on the food. The drinks were fabulous, our server was ever so sweet. The girls performances were excellent. We were warned about the vulgarity, but were not sure what to expect. The MC Charlie Brown was just down right nasty!!! Made us blush and we are by no means prudes. I think they could tone down the F bomb and sexual innuendo's and clean it up just a bit. It was definitely an experience we won't soon forget.

We had a party of 14 ladies who are qualified foodies in their own right. That, and they are party animals. The show was, as expected, over-the-top, wonderful, entertaining, and raunchy, and everything we came to see. The food was EXCELLENT. Everyone enjoyed their food, and that is saying a lot for foodies. I loved my order of tuna lightly seared, with Asian beans and Jasmine rice. The food serving was huge! My gin and tonic was spot on and had plenty of gin. I highly recommend LIPS Atlanta for anyone who is not easily offended, and likes a great night out. It's good for straight, gay, men, women, married couples, etc. Two things. Show up ON TIME or your food order will be taken when the ladies "get around to it." Also, take earplugs if you have sensitive ears; the ladies of LIPS like to crank up the music and belt out their songs.

Had a great time at Lips!!! It is beautiful inside and the service is great. All of the waiters and hostesses were super nice. I won't be a regular, but definitely will go back from time to time. It's great to take an out of town visitor. With that being said EAT BEFORE you go. The food is absolutely horrible, doesn't look appeasing and definitely does not taste it either. At this time the cover is $7 to get in and $15 food and beverage. Use that $15 on the very strong drinks. I repeat, do not get the food. I did have friends at the table who said the chicken fingers were good, but I can't say because I did not have them.

We stopped in on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. The venue was clean and beautifully decorated with all sorts of fun stuff. The show and service we're good, and we will definitely be back!

The night was amazing. The night started out great with a wonderful welcome and chastising for being late. The food was hot and delicious. The performers left me speechless. Outstanding performances. Every performer brought their best. They made EVERYONE feel welcome. Funny as hell. Well worth the money. Cannot wait to go again. Every member of the staff was friendly and attentive. The drag queen waitress for our table of 23 did not miss a beat and got all our orders correct. Amazing for such a large group. Enjoyed sharing special events like birthdays and bachelorette parties with others in attendance. These queens are iconic and among the best. They don't skimp on the alcohol either. Drinks worth the money.

Ok, Maybe it's because they just opened but the service at this place was not good. The drag queen that took care if us was a sweet as she could be, but she was overloaded with tables. Making the wait even looooonger. The bartender, obviously very young, seemed to have no experience what so ever and could not split a check with two drinks in it. He had to call a manager to do so. Large parties of twenty or more get ready, they don't split checks like in a regular restaurant. Only 4 credit cards are allowed per party and the rest must be cash. This is such an inconvenience for costumers, but they told me that's part of their policy. The drag queens are as good as the other ones you can see in local gay clubs, the dishes are a little pricy. One good thing is the ambiance of the place, it is so pretty I was not concerned about all the bad things happening, this place is over the top. Our party had six people and our bill was over $250, to be honest not worth it. I won't go back, we spent like 15 minutes trying to figure out how much each of us had to pay (because like I said, they don't split checks). Good luck to you and I hope your experience was not as bad as mine!

Very entertaining. They require you to spend $15 on food... Alcohol doesn't count. Food is definitely way overpriced for the quality. While it was fun entertainment I likely won't go back due to the food situation.

I went to Lips on 1/18/14 with 9 of my friends and we HAD A BLAST!!! We went for my birthday and they gave everyone there these cool crowns and you got to go onstage and talk to Charlie Brown for a bit and everyone said Happy Birthday and then you step off the stage... For me I was sooo nervous because I am a very shy person when it comes to being onstage but they made you feel very comfortable and I am so glad I did it! The dancing/show was sooo great!! I went to Lips in San Diego so I was hoping this one will hold to my standards and It did for sure! great audience interaction, song choices, and just over all great! Service was great when our waitress (Savannah) wasnt on stage (it was just for one short number) but the other girls didnt quite seem to understand what we ordered for a drink they brought out the wrong one twice, but as soon as Savannah came back to check on us she made it right! that is really the only bad thing I can say about the whole night...not bad right! I suggest you have everyone in your party bring cash that way you dont have to worry about credit cards, I think she said that she can take as many as 4 (which I thought they couldn't split checks at all) but we all brought cash and it made it super easy to check out. I didnt know they had Valet only parking for Saturday night and I think Friday as well but it is complimentary and all you have to do is tip the valet guy so that was nice! The food: I had the hamburger and I LOVED IT! The coconut shrimp was delicious as well!!! everyone said that they all enjoyed their food and it wasnt over the top on price either. The drinks were very good as well. They do not skimp on the alcohol so they are worth the price. I recommend the Kick the Bitch to the Curb or the Blojito! (it is not minty like a mojito, it just has raspberry and other stuff) So overall I will 100% go back there and I look forward to it! So glad they opened a LIPS in Atlanta!! :D

The food was so so, the entertainers were ok and our table of 9 was told after we were seated that there was a minimum food purchase of $15 dollars per person (not including drinks mind you). You will end up waiting a long time for food and drinks to be brought because the servers are part of the show, which wasn't that big of a deal because we went to the bar ourselves when the wait was too long. Check was brought to the table after and there was an extra $63 charge ($7 entertainer fee/door cover per person they never tell you about) that we eventually figured out on our own. We then seperated the total bill between 4 credit cards for our group, wrote down what amt to charge on each card (names and last 4 card numbers) server claimed he understood, but proceeded to charge the entire bill on my card in addition to the individual amt I spent. They claimed it was an accident, gave me a copy of the voided receipt and I ended up with a $400 dollar hold on my card for 5 days that they said would drop off in 2 days. Didn't appreciate all the hidden extra charges for an OK meal and show. Enjoyed being with my friends but that was definitely my first and last time going to lips.

My partner and I took my daughter and her fiancé to the early show. This was their first drag show and I wanted it to be a positive first impression. We were all wowed! The food and drinks were slightly above expectations, but the venue really impressed us. Beautiful decor, lovely queens who greeted us, served us, played with us, and made my daughter and her fiancé feel very comfortable. In fact, my daughter was already a big fan of Nicole Paige Brooks (from Ru Paul's Drag Race) and could not believe we were being served by "drag royalty." The show started on time and was truly exhilarating. Charlie Brown has found his new home and was, as expected, a consummate entertainer and host. The whole evening, from arrival through departure, was a pleasure. Can't wait to go back. Atlanta has needed a venue of this calibre for a long time. Welcome to the ATL, Lips!!!!!!

Do yourself a favor and go get better food for the money elsewhere then go see The Other Show at the Jungle on Friday night (although they serve dinner there, too). The service was terrible (appetizers and food arrived together, drinks took 20 minutes per round and were way overpriced), the food was expensive and Applebee's quality, and you spend more time watching music videos on screen than the actual average drag performance. The Other Show and any three star restaurant in Atlanta are SO much better.

We made reservations the week before we were going to be there, that Friday we showed up and NO, no reservation was found, even though I showed the deposit on the CC we used. The reservation was for 23 people for a bithday and the deposit was quite large! The time we had our reservation was for an hour before they even opened, but we were not told this when me made the reservation. We finely got seated and made our meal orders, over the next TWO HOURS we got our food, 90% of it cold, the orders were wrong and 2 people with extreme food allergies got things that could have ended extremely badly! After all this (there were 23 of us) as people went to pay we were told that there would be only 1 check, they could not or WOULD NOT split the check and had a maximum of 2 CC per group, none of this was told to us when we made the reservation. They would not even give use a brake down of the bill so we would know what each person's meal was. Had we known about all this we would have never booked the party with this place, it was a nightmare!

Service is good. Order your drinks on the rocks... they use large glassware filled with mixer. The food is acceptable and the show is fun. If you want a high end dining experience a drag bar is not the place to look. If you want a good laugh and a fun show this is your place.

The Show is AWESOME! It was my girl friend's b-day. The venue was decorated nice. Chandeliers & all. The acts were great & interesting, we did not have a dull moment. The staff was very active with the crowd. The service was Great! The place was packed. The drinks were sent out quickly. The food came just as quick. Parking is valet. which was great. everything ran great that night. a tip: the admission was on the bill. - there is only one bill per table.

We went for my sister's bachelorette party...all 17 of us. We were not going to eat there but just wanted to watch the show. When I made the reservation, I was told(by several people) there would be a $15 minimum food charge and $7 cover charge which was fine. When we arrived our waitress asked which menu we were ordering from and I informed her we were not eating and that it was already confirmed/approved. I was then taken to the manager who was absolutely unprofessional. He was very rude and angry saying "we make most of our money on the restaurant". He kept asking who I spoke to as if he were going to do something about it with that person. You shouldnt speak to any customer the way he did to me. He should NOT be a manager as far as I am concerned either. As a manager, he should have communicated these rules to his employees instead of taking it out on a customer. If it werent for my sister's bachelorette then I would have walked out and he would have lost alot of money. By the way, our whole group spent $800 at the end of the night. I think we more than made up for it.
