Got the steak sandwich here with a coupon I redeemed. I think it's one of the best food options at Turner Field, but just a little pricy. You need to like rare beef if you want this sandwich. It comes in a bun with plentiful strips of rare roast bed. The beef is pretty tender and juicy. They give you horseradish in the side. The horseradish is mild--I would have preferred something a little hotter. The sandwich comes with kettle chips that were just fine and a good accompaniment to the sandwich. I wouldn't pay $15 for this, but with the season ticket holder discount of 33% it is worth it.

$15 for a fat filled steak sandwich...they should have paid me to eat their awful sandwich. I don't understand what all the hype is about, it's garbage. Kevin Rathbun should be embarrassed to have his name tied to this place.

Generous serving on the steak sandwich. Tender with great flavor. Nice side of horseradish sauce.

Went here for the mets vs braves game... We won :) and was suggested to try this place. And it was amazing. I split a big kev and it was just too much to eat. Yes, I admit, I was a bad vegetarian however... I really have no excuses, this sandwich was good! It was a whopping $28 but well worth it. Fed two people and couldn't finish it! The lady cut us the leanest portion and WEIGHTED it to make sure she got the oz just right. This is well worth the money. Their rules there are very strict so we got into a bit of mess when paying with braves bucks. However I believe that is more of turner fields issue than the really nice and patient ladies there.

Expensive, but so delicious. The lines are worth it, Just as long as all the others. But with better food. The steak sandwich - so tender. The horseradish sauce was great.

Last season, I was slightly disappointed with KR Steak. However, it is nice to see what can happen over a season of revamping and learning lessons. I have been back twice, to get the "Kevin" (the monstrous double) and I tell you what- I would have to say it is the best ballpark sandwich I have ever had, anywhere. I live in search of great ballpark food and I have traveled far on my journeys. I have seen the simple, to the extravagant, and this year- I think the "Kevin" gets the grand slam. On Saturday. (which was also the day of the Steve Miller Concert)- Turner Field was pretty damn crowded. It was nice to see it crowded, but this meant one thing- long lines and a lot of rookies. My buddy and I went to the 755 to grab a brew, and went to go searching for food. Well, hell, we both knew what we wanted- a KR sandwich. When we got there, the place was a ghost town. It was only the 5th inning, wth happened? We went up, and asked, they cheerfully told us they were open! So after a 400 mile road trip, without thinking twice, I told them I wanted the double. They looked at me in disbelief, I just told them to trust me on this one. So cut after cut of that juicy steak, the scale kept getting heavier as they weighed the juicy goodness. A double is a large sandwich, indeed- enough for 2-3 people. Thankfully they cut it in half for you. It comes with a heaping order of chips, and 2 things of horseradish sauce. Honestly, it doesn't even need the sauce. The burger itself is on almost a brioche style bun, and the seasoning it comes with is amazing. The meat just tastes better than it did last year- top notch. My mouth is watering for one as we speak. The only downside is, the price. It is a freakin $28 sandwich. Thankfully, I have never had to pay that. With STH privileges, the 33% off food can be applied, and also if you have added value to your ticket, that can be applied. So I usually spend just under $9 on the sandwich. I think that helps the case in being the best ballpark sandwich in America. I cannot wait to go back, might have to get TWO Kevins next time...

Mneh. I spent $15 and got a sammitch. It was okay, but even at the clown car prices at the ballpark, I felt like I was raped. You could unass serious cash here to get fed and feel good about yourself, or you could get a hotdog and then go elsewhere after the game. Either-or. Your choice. It ain't bad, but it ain't worth $15.

Definitely better than standard ballpark fare, KR Steak Bar offers only one item. One delicious, mouth-watering dish - a simple New York strip steak sandwich served with (on the brioche-style bun) au jus and (on the side) a little horseradish and some kettle chips. I'm not a huge chip person so I would have preferred some other side options, but that really is a minor gripe because y'all, the sandwich is delicious. I see that prior reviewers have noted that they had fatty, too-chewy sandwiches. Either KR has fixed this or I just got lucky, because my sandwich was practically perfect in every way. They make every sandwich to order, carving the meat in front of you, so be prepared to wait a couple of minutes for that. The meat is medium rare, with plenty of flavor. Next time - and there'll be a next time! - I'll ask then for some extra au jus. The price is $15 for the sandwich/chips combo. This is reasonable, considering stadium hot dogs and pizza (meals of far inferior quality) cost about $6 to $8. Drinks are not included, so you'll have to spend another $5 for a soft drink/water or $8 for a crappy domestic beer/tap wine elsewhere in the stadium to wash this bad boy down. If you are sharing with someone else, want to take home enough for a second meal tomorrow, or were simply born with a stomach of steel, there is a $28 option called The Kev that features twice the meat and an extra middle bun. If you're going to order it, remember it's "Kev" as in Kevin Rathbun. Don't call it the "Keeve," like the guy in front of me!

New this season at the Ted: Kevin Rathbun Steak! The famous Atlanta chef opened a food stand behind Section 203. It's nothing like his restaurant in Old Fourth Ward except for the name. The concession sells only one food item: $15 steak sandwiches. That's pricey for a sandwich. Then again, you *are* in a ballpark and you're paying for premium cuts of beef. The steak sandwich is made out of New York strip. The stand is set up so you can see the entire meal preparation from the meat butcher slicing up giant hunks of meat to the chef assembling each sandwich. I didn't ask, but I'm guessing the sirloin is cooked medium well to well done. It's sliced into several small pieces and served between two soft buns that have been dressed on the inside with a bit of au jus. A small plastic container of horseradish and a side of chips is included with the sandwich. Everything is served on a paper food tray. I tried one of these sandwiches at the Braves vs. Miami Marlins game last night and it was OK. The meat was mostly tender and a little bit fatty. The au jus made the buns soggy. Toasting the buns might be a good idea. The thick horseradish sauce was good. Perhaps they could add more condiment options like mayo or steak sauce. There were salt and pepper shakers, but they were located before checkout, so I doubt anybody used them. They'd have to walk back through the line, against traffic, to get to them. A small condiment stand after checkout would be nice. There was a generous amount of potato chips. The chips were similar to Kettle chips in that they were extra crunchy. I'm not sure if the sandwich is worth $15, but luckily, I had a season ticket which meant the sandwich was only $10. All food stands are 33% off if you purchase a Braves season ticket package over 20 games. The cashier scanned my ticket at the register to apply the discount. Kevin Rathbun Steak is a nice local addition to Turner Field. The stand always seemed busy with a short line of people waiting. The staff did a good job of processing orders and keeping traffic moving.

I have always wanted to eat at Kevin Rathbun's places, but have never had the chance(or the company). So when I knew he opened a place at the Ted, I went nuts. I was there opening day, 2012. Kevin himself was there serving. Really nice guy, slicing and serving the meat himself. It was a beauty of a strip loin. Medium rare. $15 for a sandwich. That's all you get. It's worth it. There was a glitch that night as the cash register stopped working and took a long time to get fixed. Kevin announced that everyone would get extra meat because of the inconvenience. Now that's customer service.

3.75 stars. Tender NY strip steak sandwiches, simply prepared, sliced with some au jus, placed on a decent quality bun, accompanied by kettle chips and horseradish sauce. $15. No other accoutrements. None are really necessary. Among the best ballpark sandwiches I've had. It could be a little more juicy, however, and the folks behind the counter could carve the fat and gristle just a little better. Ask for au jus on both sides of the bun to increase juiciness and for more flavor. If you don't ask you only get one side "jus'd". They serve only "tap" wine and no beer. Right behind home plate on the 200 level concourse. Why only 3.75 stars? Value. But we're at the ballpark and everything is expensive. At $10 this Kevin Rathbun's offering at Turner Field would be a solid 4+ stars.

Steak sandwich made from prime ny strip at a ballpark. Side of kettle chips. I found the steak very tender so when you bite it you are not having to tug the meat out of the bun. The sandwich ate very well and not messy like most steak sandwiches. Side of horseradish sauce was very good and buns are drizzled with some AU jus. This is all they sell so all you do is walk the line and tell them how many of them you want. Turner could combo this with a beer/ drink stand to maybe offer a micro- beer with this really good sandwich. Maybe a little help on the side as well but the chips were good if you like kettle chips. How about fried pickles?

I went on opening night, April 1 2013. The line for the place was long, as would be expected. But it wasn't moving. Eventually a worker walked down the long line, explaining that the prime rib they had gotten was undercooked, and that they didn't do the cooking. They apologized and said they were getting things in order. Apparently the way they got around the rawness of the prime rib was to cut it up raw, and then boil it in au jus. It was exceedingly tough and chewy. The guy slicing it seems to have never cut beef before. Here's a hint: if it is the size and shape of an ice cube, you're not doing it correctly. If it's just a solid piece of fat, don't put it between two slices of bun. I couldn't bite through the meat on any bite, so I always ended up dragging out more meat than I'd anticipated. If you love to chew your food 40 or 50 times, you're going to love this sandwich. It's au jus flavored shoe leather. If you eat one of these every day, within a short period you'll have a jawline like Dolph Lundgren in the mid 80's. To get around a complete lack of flavor in the uncooked beef, the buns are drenched in au jus, because hey, who doesn't like eating a salty wet sponge? The sandwich comes with Lays Kettle Cooked chips. Anything from the Frito Lay corporation is some serious high cuisine. Thanks for putting in the effort, Kevin. Why not some fresh cut french fries? Or some fresh made onion rings? Or at least something better than what I'd get at Blimpies? Do yourself a favor: get a hotdog. It'll be every bit as bad as this sandwich, but it'll save you 10 bucks, 30 minutes standing in line, and the feeling that you've been robbed of $15. I think even Guy Fieri would be embarrassed to attach his name to this money-grab of a restaurant.

I've been here on two separate occasions and left pleased and full of good food! The first time I sat downstairs and it was very cozy, candlelit basement, which I loved. Now for the food! The appetizers I had were the baked escargot (I've never had snails before and to be honest was frightened lol) but Rathbuns has made me a believer...very delicious! I also had grilled thick cut bacon, anything bacon is alright with me-perfect. I was with a group so was able to try a number of steaks/and accompaniments: the dry aged cowboy ribeye was superb, had a gamey taste and was incredibly tender, next I tried the filet (med/rare) and it was sexy. Last I had the regular dry aged steak and again...to die for! The truffle butter was truly amazing, bleu cheese butter, peppercorn sauce- all were very delicious! The sides I had were the onion rings- nice and perfectly crispy! The jalapeño creamed corn- where have you been all my life?? And finally Brussels with bacon...perfect way to serve em in my opinion! Finally for dessert: Carmelia truffle cake to keep with the truffle theme of my steak dinner. I had absolutely nothing to complain about, service was superb and had the pleasure of seeing one of the brothers! He was there at the expediting station making sure everything going out was up to standard and that impressed me! Ever since seeing them on Iron Chef I've wanted to eat here and was not disappointed!

Went to the Braves game yesterday with my 4 year old son and while we were waiting for the rain delay I decided to try the steak sandwich. A little pricey but always willing to pay a little bit more for something I'm in the mood for. The steak was a bit overcooked for my liking but was decent enough considering the surrondings we were in. The sauce that came on the side was tasty enough and a nice surprise, the chips were a bit lame and could've used something else instead. Overall, I might try the sandwich again if I were @ the Ted again but definetly other options out there!
