Ihop is giving it another go in midtown. It opened on Monday. I would go star search on its ass and give 2 3/4 stars if I could. Its about what you expect from Ihop. The clientele is already getting sketchy but it was pretty clean. SO GO NOW WHILE IT IS STILL CLEAN! Our sever seemed like he might have been on speed but he was nice and fast (thats how speed works). There were way too many servers on duty in a really small space so they were all kind of wondering around looking unhappy. I want to hope this Ihop stays decent but the location is going to bring in some crackies.

Woww great location! There were only two other couples when I went. I got amazing service and the food was great!

This new IHOP is so sparkly! I know we'll end up here again, given that it's a 24 hour food stop and it's close to home, but I'm going to stick with the pancakes and omelets (which stood up well as leftovers, too). I find the rest of the food (including the coffee) to be mediocre to bad. I'm talking bad bacon here, people, a near impossibility. In fact, get over there and get the pumpkin pancakes and some hot chocolate as soon as it cools off around here! Service was decent, our guy was super sweet. Oh and parking is weird. There's lots of it, but the spaces are TINY and people have trouble parking their SUVs between the lines.

I'm not the biggest IHOP fan, but of all the ones that I have been too, this is by far the cleanest and the only one I've eaten in that doesn't smell like grease.

I'm giving this particular location four stars because it was clean, service was speedy, and it isn't far from my condo. We figured we would give it a shot so we walked here over the weekend. The parking lot was almost full and people were still continuing to come in at a steady pace. We were seated immediately and our server zoomed over to introduce himself. I figure we must have had the same server as rachel m. because he definitely seemed like he was on speed. This meant he was extremely fast yet pleasant so he must not have been coming down. We have been to the Majestic before and our server was obviously coming down from some sort of speed high and he was sweaty, jittery, and a jackass. Anyway, that's for another topic. I ordered the Pancake Combo with two chocolate chip pancakes, two scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon. I was in greasy, fat-filled heaven. I saved the pancakes for last because those are more like dessert. Back to our server. I swear there wasn't five minutes that went by where he wasn't asking us if everything was ok, did we need anything, refills? Anything, anything? It actually got kind of annoying because we couldn't have a conversation but in the end we just laughed it off because it is, after all, IHOP. I also agree that there were too many servers on the floor. Maybe they just wanted to be prepared in case a huge rush hit? As I was paying the bill one of the people behind the counter was talking on the phone with what I figured to be another employee because when he hung up he told the cashier, "I love talking to that bitch because...." I didn't catch the because, because I was laughing about the bitch comment. Only in Midtown! Love it!

Ate at this iHop while on vacation. This location was smaller than the iHops back home. The service was spectacular! Food was delicious! Dining area was very clean as well as the restroom. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in town!

You can't think of IHOP without thinking of pancakes. I mean it's in their name. They're like the Baskin-Robbins of pancakes with 31 different flavors or something. Sure you've got original buttermilk pancakes and harvest grain 'n nuts along with the fairly normal raspberry and peaches, strawberry and banana and double blueberry. But then things go all Barnum and Bailey with flavors like chocolate chocolate chip, raspberry white chocolate chip and New York cheesecake. And the fruit isn't fresh fruit. It's gunked up in this goopy glaze and then topped with whipped cream. Who knew pancakes needed all that to taste good? All this weird extracurricular activity extends to other items, too. A fine print note says they add pancake batter to their omelettes to make them extra fluffy. Yeww. And personally, I'm not looking for three kinds of meat with my breakfast plate. It all seems a little overdone. If you just want the basics you're going to have to search a little. If you're stuck waiting for your car at the Goodyear across the street, IHOP is an okay option, but it's not a place I'd seek out.

This place is pretty consistent. Servers are chatty and playful but always helpful. Always busy late night especially closer to the weekend since it's one of the few 24/7 restaurants downtown. Definitely not as long of a wait to sit down compared to the Majestic, which is just a couple of miles down the road. Food's always good. Never had a bad plate served to me. I love the omelettes and the sirloin tips. They always cook it right.

I come this Ihop because its the closest to my home. Its never a terrible experience, but they could improve on wait times and a more courteous staff

I wish there was a thumbs down button. I went here before I went to work, it was a Sunday about 6:30am. The place had a awful smell and wasn't clean. That should have been my first sign of things to come. But there wasn't any other choice and I had no time left so I ordered the breakfast sampler. The food took a long time to come out. Keep in mind I'm the only person in there that order. Every one else is just seating down talking. I get my food and go to work. When I got to work the food looked horrible and tasted worst. Next time I will starve! Yuk I will say this the people that work there were nice to me. But the food ugh

No scrapple at this location. The country fried steak with gravy on the steak AND hashbrowns was my second choice. Very good. Eggs over-easy did not disappoint. The waiter was attentive and pleasant with our party of 8 on a busy Saturday morning.

It's IHOP. You either like it or you don't. The service was quick and very friendly. I left something at the table and hours later they recognized me right away. The food was cooked well. I would return here again.

  • Roberta J.

Like other Yelpers have mentioned, the service was very friendly. Our server, Darius even complimented me on my outfit. I am not a big fan of IHOP, but the kids wanted to come for breakfast. I ordered the simply fit pancake combo, the kids ordered the create your face pancakes. The food came out fast and pretty good for the money. He even brought hot syrup without us requesting it. It was crowded, but we did not wait long. I would return if I didn't have a particular taste for anything.

Best breakfast on a Thursday I've ever had. This store has had a face lift and looks sooo clean and new. Service was excellent and the food is always good, but today it was even better than before. It's been a rough week at my work, but IHOP pancakes have made my day. The IHOP in midtown is the BEST!

I went in midday today. I used the birthday bonus they send for your birthday should you be signed up for their email promotions. I hate to complain when I used a coupon, esp when the general help is nice and friendly, however: --- The coffee was served without creamer on the table, had to ask for it. --- The pancakes are served without butter, had to ask for it. -- There was food ground into the carpet beside me. A family restaurant like that should never have carpet as this is what you get with carpet if you put it down. It's almost unavoidable...what are they thinking with carpet??? ---- The big complaint though is it was a Feb day, but it was sunny and nice in my opinion outside. I came with just a T shirt on. The sun was shining in brightly from the southern exposure windows. They had the heat cranked up to MAX it seemed and the overhead vent was blowing in lots of heat and there was no need for any at all. The help was talking how hot it was. I wasn't able to hear everything they said but it appeared the woman manager or supervisor was blasting this stuff because she was cold! Oh geez!! Nothing worse than a whining cold women making it difficult for everyone else when it really isn't cold! It was very uncomfortably HOT in there and this just isn't right! I hurried and ate and paid and got the hell outta there! She needs to go take an iron pill, run around the block, or get some thermals if that what it takes but to bake the customers is just horrible!!! This is a location in need of fixing!

We had a long wait time today, not too bad though, made us more curious to eat from all the aromas we smelled. Customer service was good, just a few mistakes here and there with the order. Overall, we recommend this place for a quick bite, price is reasonable.

So, I'm a "Midtowner" and I said, what could go wrong at the Midtown IHOP? Eh.... Long. Long. Long. Long wait. So, my brother and I decided to to-go the order. The waitress at the front counter was very chatty but seemed nice. That was until she ASKED for a tip and was quite pushy about it. As we were waiting, we heard other customers say things about the way she was pushing for tips. She even told a man that if he ordered a drink, she'd GIVE it to him and he could just tip her... *sidenote* I tip EVERYWHERE I go...15-20%, so, yeah. The food came out about 35-40 minutes later. When I received the order, it wasn't close to what I ordered. I got one of the 4 things that I asked for.

Good service. There were about 5 parties ahead of us when we walked in, including a party of 7 but they still managed to seat us within 7 mins. Waitress was nice. Eggs were overcooked, pancakes were undercooked, and the red potatoes were just right. Nothing gross or inedible. Fine. Exactly what I expected from iHop

Looks lets be real. Its IHOP. Its like in the phantom zone of breakfast food. Its that place you take your gf after the abortion or before the breakup. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles!

  • Curtis C.

Server told my friend (out loud) that his card was declined several times and only after my buddy asked him several times if he was being serious did he say he was kidding....not funny, not cool.

    (2)
  • Candra G.

So...first off, this is IHOP. So, I don't go in looking for super upscale eats. But, I always get my standard breakfast staples that are cooked to my satisfaction. The service here is hit or miss. Definitely lots of personality from the servers, which can add a little flair to your typical IHOP dining experience. I got called 'baby, love, honey, sugar, etc' so much....I almost forgot my real name. LOL When all else fails, go to IHOP. Cheap, quick, and tasty food.

  • Ali M.

I was here on a Saturday evening around 6. The restaurant had crap all over the floor which should have been my cue to leave. There were only two other tables occupied, so I assumed I would get great service. Wrong! The waitress' or someone's hair was in my drink ...my order was wrong. and the waitress barely came by to ask if we needed anything. Instead she spent her free time talking, which is annoying. If the place would have been busy, I would have understood the lack of service. Oh and the food tasted good, but as soon as I got home i felt sick and Im pretty sure i had food poisoning. I wouldn't waste time visiting this place. Try one of the local breakfast restaurants in the area.

  • Buck N.

Good service and food but I was very displeased when I asked about military discount when it came time for the bill and they don't give one. I thought IHOP honored it everywhere but I guess it's at the discretion of the owner. 5-10% isn't much of a profit loss on a chain food organization not a big deal to help out the people that protect your freedom and give you business.

Everything that is good in the world was created after a hearty breakfast at an inappropriate time at IHOP. Amen to eating pancakes anytime u frekkin feel like.

I wish there was a way I could give the MANAGEMENT not the waitstaff, cooks or dishwashers but the MANAGEMENT and owners a -5 thumbs down. This is by far the worst IHOP in the metro Atlanta area!! I come here often and it seems like the experiences get worse every time. The owners of this IHOP are modern day slave drivers. They are always under staffed and make the employees work long hours which makes the employees irritable and short tempered which inadvertently gives the paying customers horrible customer service. The owners wife who's name was Sarah took 7 mins to acknowledge and seat us. She sat us at a dirty table. When we asked one of the employees to clean it she fussed at him and told him not to clean. He cleaned it any way because he knew it was the right thing to do. The hostess who was on duty said she had been working for about 6 hours and had another 9 hours to go. I witnessed this hostess ask Sarah may she please have a break and she rudely said NO. The whole restaurant needs to be shut down and the owners need to be reported to the BBB

What can I say about this location. At night it STINKS!! Lawdddddddd it smells like piss. I can say my waiters & waitress always have me crying laughing. Its so small & be Jam packed with all the GA state students. PROS Its not far from where I live 24 hours I always get seated ASAP CONS The co workers need to learn how to get along well

It was my first day in Atlanta and I had some time to kill. I've never been to an Ihop before and thought I give this place a shot. I've been the only costumer with 5 or 6 people working there. I ordered a blueberry pancake/hashbrown/egg/sausage combo. Instead of the blueberry I got regular pancakes with cherries without further explanation. The food was solid, but nothing special. The portions are pretty small (could have eaten 3 times as much) and unfortunately they don't have wifi. Don't forget to tip them their 20%! If its less they will yell through the entire store what a "shitty person" you are. Not going to go back to an Ihop anytime soon.

The food was great. It took a minute to get our food. The cook forgot to make our food so we had to wait a little longer than usual. The waitress was cool and all in all in was an ok experience.

Very poor service. Stopped in for a quick dinner and the food was decent (for an IHOP, at least). Our server must have had a very bad memory, because she repeatedly forgot to bring us waters, lemons, and utensils. Three of us got our food at a reasonable speed, but the last person had to wait quite a while. When the last person finally got their food, it was the wrong item.

Went here for a sunday brunch. The place has opened up fairly recently. They have a standard IHOP menu that would make any cardiologist smile all the way to the bank. They take reservations. We went without a reservation and easily got a seat. An hour later there was a long line, so come early, reserve or be prepared to wait. The table we were seated at was greasy and not well cleaned. Also the food counter was in a bit of disarray, not the best sign for a restaurant. Had an omelet - meat lovers - and it was very tasty and of good proportion. Given the poor cleaning standard I am not sure we will go back, but I might try another IHOP as the food is tasty.

Love this store! We go every Sunday morning! If you get there before 10am most Sundays you don't have to wait. If you come later expect a short wait 10-15 mins. I have not had bad food nor service here yet! We walk in and most of the staff knows our names and greets us with smile and hugs but like I said we are there every Sunday! If you have not had the steak tip you must try them, they are AWESOME! The GM, Tina, runs around making sure everything is good and is on top of everything. The store is always clean.

Normally I'm not an IHOP kinda guy, but Sean M. quickly became a fan ever since they opened this location a block from the Eagle. Coincidentally, that's where we were leaving Saturday night when the craving struck. Everyone who works here is really friendly, including the off duty APD officer who was sitting outside. We fully expected him to hassle my friend for wearing assless chaps. Nope. He was very professional and I appreciate that. Again, I'm not usually an IHOP fan, so I really didn't know what to order. Sean ordered some sort of ham sandwich, so I got the same thing. I asked our server for a recommendation on how to order my hash browns and she said her favorite was to add tomatoes and mushrooms (plus a few other things). I'm not sure what was in them, but it was the perfect combination. I love seeing shiny, new things on Ponce and hopefully this place stays shiny and new. As Jennifer J. said, it's pretty clean and I was happy with the service.

I generally enjoy IHOP and will go to one for breakfast whenever I am near one in my travels. This particular IHOP is good. Not great, but not bad either. My pancakes were served a bit cold, which ruins the taste and texture. When I alerted that waitress, she was quick and pleasant to remedy with a fresh hot stack. She also kept the hot coffee coming. With many customers served throughout the day, it is understandable that sometimes it may not be perfect. This IHOP was quick to fix the problem so I will say that if in the area, I would come back again.

  • Lauren H.

Everything about this place is gross. Its not clean. The food is not good (if you even get the complete meal). And the service is even worse. On top of it all, there is no manager to complain to about all your issues. And they won't honor kids eat free if you are using a gift certificate. Dont waste a meal at this place.

  • Daniel T.

When I first heard that IHOP was moving into the old Krystal building, I wondered how in the world they could possibly fit in that little space. I still wonder. I swear, that building must be a TARDIS. (Look it up if you don't get it.) That said, IHOP is a well-known chain, so you probably have some idea what they serve. One thing that makes this particular location special is that every dish I've ordered has reached the table looking *better* than the photo in the menu, and tasting as good as it looks. Oddly, their standard pancakes, while good, are probably the weakest dish on the menu. Their specialty pancakes are very good and their filled, topped French toast is spectacular.

This is my first visit to IHOP during the day/normal business hours. I usually go to the smaller mom and pop places around Atlanta. I was very happy to be seated within 15 minutes and at the options on the menu. Our server was awesome and got us everything we needed promptly. Food was average/good but i still enjoyed it and will make another trip here if my go to spots are way too packed.

IHOP is an upscale Waffle House to me. The menu is larger and the prices are a little higher than WH. The service is not all that great and worse after dark but the food is ok for what you pay.

  • Carla D.

The food was fantastic, this might have been because I was starving and would have eaten anything and thought it was amazing. The low rating is because of the service. It was terrible. We were sat and greeted quickly but then forgotten about. When we finally ordered our food and it was brought to us, we sat for over 5 mins staring at the food, wishing we had silverware to eat with. My bacon, cheese, scramble thing should have had sour cream on it according the menu and the picture. The server argued with me that they don't usually serve it with sour cream but he would get me some anyway. My lady friend that was with me wanted to substituent broccoli for the hash browns and he looked at her as if she had 5 eyes and a horn. Then took about 10 mins to go ask his manager if he could do that. Those pancakes sure were good though.

Stopped by IHOP for dinner last night with my girlfriend (I know, I know, I'm an extreme romantic - I know how to treat a lady)! ;-) We were seated immediately and our server, Cathy, came by quickly to take our drink order. When she came back for our food order, I asked about an item that's been off of the menu for years. Sometimes they know it, sometimes they don't. It was called a Hamburger Club and basically, it's 3 pieces of toast with a hamburger patty and bacon under two of them and lettuce, cheese, tomato under the other slices - like any 'club' sandwich, so, it's a triple-decker, but with hamburger rather than turkey. She didn't know what it was, but I described it to her and she said she could get it made. My gf ordered chicken and waffles. The food (and drink refills) came out quickly. Mine wasn't what I expected - it was basically a bacon cheeseburger where the bun was replaced with toast. But, it had all the items on it I wanted, and she went out of her way to get it done, so I was happy and it was tasty. As we were leaving (waiting near the register to pay), my gf said to make sure I tipped Cathy well, as she did a great job, so we discussed the tip a bit. When the cashier asked us how it was I said "Great. The food was great and the service was spectacular." Just then, Cathy, from behind us said "well, thank you!" We had no idea she had been sitting just behind us as we discussed the tip and complimented her. But, that's ok - I think it's good for her to hear honest feedback and she deserved the praise! I had been disappointed with my last IHOP experience (not this location), so it was great to have a nice experience at this location.

I love pancakes!! This is the best option for bruch... I just went here with a friend to have some brunch and we both share some omelettes and chocolate chip pancakes... both things were delicious and the price was like nothing.... The only thing I didn't enjoyed about this place was that it was to noisy!! May try another location...

Pumpkin pancakes are my new addiction, and this IHOP was at my service!! We came by on Sunday and were seated immediately, but don't be fooled: this IHOP is tiny. I would not recommend bringing a group larger than 4 here. Our server, Lorenzo, was probably one of the friendliest servers I've ever had. He needs to go work for Kevin Rathbun. Come to think of it, the first time I went to IHOP for pumpkin pancakes I also had an extremely nice server. They must be doing something right. You can get pretty much any brunch item you want here, but what really makes IHOP special is their ridiculous variety of pancakes. Blueberry and chocolate chip is *so* 1995... you need to divulge into New York Cheesecake or Cinnabon pancakes! But my personal favorite is the pumpkin pancakes, which I will keep eating until they are "out of season". I also had a chocolate iced coffee (really, do we need to say "mocha" in an IHOP?) which was delicious. I could have drank 4 more of those. Highly recommend if you are looking to stay out of the Va Hi / Midtown brunch scene one weekend.

Ate at this ihop 2 days ago and was seated in a booth. My party was 3 adults and 1 teen and we were very cramped. It also was a cold day and we all had on winter gear. I asked our server if there was a coat rack available but he said there was none. So it made for an uncomfortable dine. All in all the food was standard ihop fare-all of our meals were acceptable. Our server was friendly and promptly brought us fresh coffee after we complained about it's freshness.

I have NEVER in my life had such a horrible experience at a restaurant! Upon entering this location at around 9:45pm there was only a manager and waitress working on the floor and what seemed to be only one cook. Despite the initial appearance, my guests and I were looking forward to eating at this particular establishment because we wanted to enjoy the "All You Can Eat Pancakes" special. After passing at least five tables full of people who were not yet waited on and had no starting drinks in sight on their tables, we were seated after finally finding an empty table that did not have leftover plates and food from the previous guests. Our waitress told us to just be patient with her because she was the only one there and we told her thank you and waited patiently. 30 minutes later, we were not checked on and was not asked for our drinks or orders, A few more waiters came in and seated waiting customers and brought drinks to them before we were even acknowledged. We asked for the manager, Tony, and we were told that he would come to our table shortly. After finally receiving our food an hour later, our eggs were still as raw as the yoke upon cracking an egg. We asked for the manager two more times and he never came and when we were ready to leave and told him we did not feel that we should pay for such terrible service, he threatened to call the police on us and did not even take off a any percentages off our meals. He is a terrible manager and I have never been treated so rude

So much better than the one in Buckhead. Words cannot express. The lighting was bright the staff was friendly and most of all, there were no bugs. whenever I'm craving pancakes and greasy hashbrowns, I'll definitely be back.

What a wonderful experience it was to come to an overlit restaurant with its own security in the middle of the night. To be treated like a king by a huge meal in the middle of the night and to walk out with a full stomach. Only to wake up early in the morning with the worst stomach cramps since I ate chipoltle. My short lived experience of delicious late night food ended in disaster. Who was the culprit? The pink sauce they put on fruit. I mean what in the world is that? Ok, I need to cut this review short... its making me gag.

This was definitely a bad night. The food was le horible. It tasted like le poo. You know how when you cut into pancakes and they instantly are too sticky and the top becomes detached from the bottom... Well, that's how mine were (both orders). The eggs (which come from powder, unless you specifically ask for real) had a really bad taste and an even worse smell. The kid's mac and cheese is the instant kind and is not close to being creamy and gets dry after 2 min at the table. Will I come here again? Sure! It was just an off night. I'll give it another try. Disappoint me again, and it's off with your head!

My omelette was good but my grits were extremely cold. When my guest and I informed the Manager that we were charged for grits when we had specifically asked to substitute for another item. She said corporate charge us not her. The bottom line she didn't even attempt to take them off and didn't even offer a apology. The service was very poor.

Bad management. I told the waitress the coffee burned my tongue - guess she didn't hear me - called the restaurant a number of times to complain - they said since I didn't complain to the manager that night - it was actually pretty early in the morning - and I just wanted the cab to come & take me home asap - as I am racuperating from cancer & was half asleep. I noticed the next day that not only did the coffee burn the side of my tongue that it really hurt & I couldn't talk very well - I had to keep taking Advil. I don't know how many times I called, and they kept pushing me off, telling me a manager would call me - asked me for my number - always said they were too busy to talk at the time I called. I asked for a refund of the $10.02 I paid - as I go to restaurants to get uplifted - and to improve my health - not to have my tongue get a sore on it from eating at the restaurant! They actually told me to go to an Emergency Room - they didn't offer to pay for it! This happened on Dec. 17 - it is now Jan. 3 & I still have not received a call back from them!

I was excited when the Midtown IHOP opened up because the nearest one was all of the way in Buckhead since the one on North Ave became a Chinese Food restaurant. But, according to the word on the street it was the "worst IHOP eva" anyway. I've been here quite a few times and most of the waiters are still as excited as they were when it first opened. The menu is the same almost anywhere you go, so it's the staff and the cleanliness of the location that sets this one apart. On Saturdays, expect a wait. I've gone at all times of the day and they do not disappoint. I've had experiences with incorrect bills or not receiving hot syrup and every little issue has been rectified quickly and easily with no conflict.

I went here some time ago after watching a movie with a friend. I have to say that we were seated promptly and the food was IHOP quality, which was good. My only complaint is that the server had the dirtiest nails...I mean dirt all caked up underneath them and it totally made me a little sick to my stomach. My pancakes started not to taste so good. Although, I really like IHOP, I will think twice about coming to this particular location. Don't they require cleanliness? It makes me think about and wonder what the cooks hygiene habits are like. I shutter thinking about it.

I think it's kinda wrong to post another review about iHop but they recently opened this location and it's really close to work and that makes me happy. I love IHOP. I do. I have no shame in saying that. I mean, the Corn Beef Hash Omelette is just pure awesome. Any place that can do that is always going to be great in my book. And with this place being somewhat all shiny and new, that makes my normal IHOP concerns a little less. I can call in an order for lunch, run out and pick it up, inhale it at my desk and then slowly fall into a food coma until it's time to go home. Nice!
