How could I resist a place with such a fun name? Well, I couldn't, so here I am having a late lunch. I ordered the Ghost burger which is the spicy one with pepper jack cheese, ghost sauce (spicy) and grilled jalapenos. The bread was that dark yellow kind and the bun seemed to be HUGE. The meat patty was also fairly thick. Unfortunately, the best part of the burger were the grilled jalapenos - they still had the seeds in them so they were hot but not too tongue burning. The meat was perfectly cooked - bright pink in the middle and juice for DAYS, but lacked any flavor. A little salt and pepper in ground meat goes a long way. I also ordered the black cherry mojito which was unspectacular. I watched the server make it and she shook it up really well but it still tasted separated - one part soda, one part rum, one part mint, one part razzmatazz. It didn't work as a cocktail- soda mixed with razzmatazz is not a good idea. As for the service, my server was very nice, but she was more interested in flirting with another male customer and then as her shift ended I think she forgot I was sitting there. She gave me only 1 receipt upon signing instead of the customary two; I've seen that at quick service restaurants but it was unexpected here. Overall, I've had worse burgers and worse service, but I've also had better and I wouldn't come back here. There are better places to have a burger in Atlanta. Yelp 100 #39

By far one of the best burgers in the area. Great shakes as well. I love their jalapeño ranch. My favorite burger is the Guacapotle burger and the Dirty Kitchen Sink Shake!

I've been to both locations in the Atlanta area, and this one definitely tops the Cumberland location! The service here is hard to beat, everyone goes out of their way to accommodate you, but what really stands out are the shakes! This time I ordered the Moonshine Apple Pie, I didn't like it near as much as the Dirty Kitchen Sink one, which let's be honest, is my new holy grail. I normally like to order unique things, something I can't just get anywhere... but a whim took me on a journey to order the Voodoo Burger with Mushrooms & Swiss this time. Great googly moogly this thing was the tits!! If not the best burger I've ever had. My onion rings were overcooked, but they're onion rings, they could be burnt or raw, I'm still going to shove them in my mouth. I work directly across the street, so you can bet your sweet butt I'm going to become more of a regular...

The food was awesome I'm so happy we finally got a Texas burger joint in Atlanta being that I'm from Texas. I even had the one called the Texas Lou it had a very large meat patty topped with a pineapple and grilled jalapenos and on top of that pulled pork it was so so good. It was cooked perfectly I recommend this place to anyone but do not sit at the bar because you will be left alone. My waitress kept walking away and I was the only one at the bar and I couldn't even scream at someone if I wanted to. Other than that this place gets 4 stars. The atlcomputerdude.com

I never knew there was such a hip burger bar in Briarcliff. The burgers are great - I had the Texas burger and my friend had the mushroom and Swiss burger. Both were delicious. We had the s'mores milkshake..which was just ok. It was way too thick.

Had no idea this concept, any location, existed! I'd been missing a great burger till today. The idea is much like Figo - order at a counter, get a marker (theirs are cool little gps like thingys) and find whatever (cool looking wood and metal, or black booth cushions) seat you want and have your meal delivered, by very friendly servers. You can also sit at the nicely done bar, and order your meal like at most restaurants besides the fast-casual concept. Mom and I both went basic since it was our first visit (our theory being judge the meat, then move on to the special burgers). The Front Porch was awesome. Romaine, thick sliced tomato, just a bit of mayo and mustard (nothing oozing out, so my preference). I got med rare while Mom got the standard med well - mine was my definition of the perfect med rare burger, with just the right amount of pink. And big (guilty of leaving a quarter-ish behind). She enjoyed the onion rings - which are kind of unique with their almost tempura-looking batter- and enjoyed. I looooved the skinny fries. Think Houston's like fries here. There are a lot of things I will look forward to trying in other sections like the Non Moo (or some cleverly named) section. They were busy on a later side lunch (130ish) it being a Friday, probably - but a little surprising since this shopping center is almost insanely under re-construction. Impressive. Good service, nice atmosphere (there's a porch too!) and great burgers. I will so be back soon.

I have a much better opinion of Grub Burger after having visited this location. I tried the Lockheart Legend and my mom tried the Voodoo Mushroom Burger. The Lockheart Legend has two huge onion rings and Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce, it was fantastic. We split an order of Sweet Potato fries. I did not realize my mom had ordered fries of the Sweet Potato variety. I tried a couple and they were okay. Generally I do not like Sweet Potato fries. I am of the opinion that if you want sweet potato fries, you should go eat some sweet potato pie instead. We went during milkshake happy hour and tried the salted caramel milkshake; that was amazing. I am a fan and look forward to returning.

Delicious burger, delicious fries, delicious milkshake, and cheap drinks... pretty much all you can ask for in a burger place. It is new and trendy. I had the guac burger, which was a bit spicy and the sweet potato fries, which were almost a dessert... super sugary, but delicious! After 9, apparently the food is discounted (and this includes milkshakes). We had the $4 margaritas... they were good for the price. Haven't yet tried the other ones, but I am sure they will be good. Will most definitely be back to try more.

Atlanta's BEST burger? I don't know, but their burgers are "QUITE tasty." How one places their order is STUPID. Let me explain... When one walks in one places their order at the cash register, then one must fill their own cup at the soda fountain, THEN the server brings you your order. WHICH IS STUPID!!! If I have to tip, why must I order at the cash register and get my own soft drink??? I don't mind tipping, but their system for ordering is inefficient! Now getting back to the food, their skinny fries are great and the milkshakes are AWESOME! This is my go to place for burgers.

This place is really a solid 3.5 stars. The food doesn't dissappoint, but you won't be wowed either. Grub burger is like a slightly fancier Shake Shack with better parking and no wait. Bottomline: Great place for a no-frills, honey-I'm-too-tired-to-cook meal. Burgers are big and tasty and the restaurant has plenty of seating and parking making it easy to get in and out quickly. The burgers: For a burger joint that leans toward variety instead of offering one amazing burger (see: Bocado, H&F), I found the menu somewhat limited. My wife and I both found options that we liked a lot, though. Also, the burgers are huge, so some patrons may be able to split a single burger. The sides: Lots of standard burger options here, but we only got the fries and onion rings. The fries are outstanding - crispy and thin. The onion rings are the crispy, crunchy kind - not the soft flaky kind. The drinks: Decent beer menu with several options beyond what you typically find: Rebel IPA, Terrapin Hopsecutioner, etc. They have a few margarita options, too, including a "Four Dollar Rita" which gets the job done without any pretense. All in all, we probably won't be celebrating any special occasions here, but we'll definitely be back on a weeknight when we just want something savory and easy.

This place is absolutely delicious!! The fries are good! I had the my boy blue and it was everything! So good I forgot to even take a picture!

We ordered and sat. Only high top tables left, wish they had more short tables as these chairs are a little uncomfortable. Shared a caramel milkshake - sssoooo good. Then we waited and waited....and waited. People who came in after us were getting food - wait, our food! It went to two different tables before it was brought to us. We sent it back as I don't want to eat something g that has been looked at by strangers. Well it took awhile to get our food right, but eventually it did. The manager came over to talk to us. He made sure everything was right. Then he comped our entire meal, and gave us each a burger card to come back for a free burger fries and shake! Wow! He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and would come back. Yes we will be back. That is good customer service!!!

Food was on point. My tiramisu milkshake was made special for me...extra marscapone cheese and whipped cream blended in. Perri, our server/bartender was a doll. Super friendly, made recommendations that I ended up loving and talked music with us for a while. She rocks! Grub rocks!

Hmmm... Okay place. My burger was good and juicy "The Lockhart Legend" a decent bbq bacon cheddar burger, although it came out medium-well and I ordered med-rare. Nine out of ten times this happens whenever I order a burger someplace. I didn't send it back this time(I was hungry) the fries are not that good. Looks like they make sweet shake like cocktails, I didn't have anything to drink. Il probably be back. Device was good and the bartender was nice and stopped by from time to time to check on me.

Grub Burger is a burger joint that serves up delicious, juicy burgers and has a full bar. This franchise was established in Texas and has expanded to Georgia, Florida, and Pennsylvania. LOCATION There are two locations in Georgia so far, Druid Hills and Cobb Galleria/Cumberland Mall area. This one is located off North Druid Hills in a shopping plaza with Zoe's Kitchen, Starbucks, Panera Bread, Plato's Closet, etc. The plaza is currently in the process of renovation. FOOD -Guacopotle Burger (7.75): Chipotle aioli, cheddar cheese and handmade guacamole over your choice of patty. I got a medium rare patty. The side I chose was Tabbouleh, which is a Levantine/Mediterranean dish that's refreshing. It has minutely chopped mint, parsley, cucumbers, tomatoes, and bulgar wheat all in a lemon juice. -VooDoo Burger (8.50): Absinthe sautéed mushrooms with swiss cheese, and Tabasco mayo. My friend ordered this and it was delicious. Mushroom lovers? Step up front. The fries are delicious. Onion rings are too! Batter is just right. SERVICE Friendly service and very helpful as this place is just starting up. As you enter, you wait in line and order. Pay and seat yourself. You'll be given a buzzer and a waiter will bring your food out. You also have the options to order drinks, sides, or desserts later on while sitting at the table. GRUB! Good people. Real Food. Unique Vibe. Big Flavors.

My previous still stands except 2 things: they raised their prices by about .75 cents. Not much but that was kind of quick. Also, the Swimmin up Stream (salmon, $7.75) wasn't terrible but I wouldn't order it again. It just didn't taste right to me.

Turkey burger? Delicious, juicy. Fries with cheese and jalapeno ranch dressing. Also delicious. Crawfish Pistolettes? Not bad. Better than you expect with such things. Great atmosphere, great service.

Brought a large group to Grub Burger for a birthday party. The service was great and the burgers and shakes equally great. I had the Lockhart Legend and a kitchen sink shake.

My first visit to Grub Burger bar was def a good one. Service was really good from the time I entered. I sat at the bar for lunch and had stellar service also. The bartender was very attentive. I ordered the Lockhart Legend burger which turned out to be really tasty. Applewood bacon and Dr. Pepper bbq sauce really make this burger enjoyable. The only thing I don't line is you have to pay almost $5 bucks extra for fries that are really skinny and nothing special. Overall, the good quality and service will bring be back tho. I want to try more burgers on the menu...they have some cool ones.

Grub Burger Bar is the new go-to place for me and my colleagues, both lunch and happy hour, and I could not be more thrilled. I think I've been there 5 times in the last month, and haven't been disappointed yet. I recommend that you sit at the full-service bar rather than ordering at the counter. The servers that work the open seating area are good, but I would rather pay the same price and get to full restaurant experience. Plus, you get to chat with the nice folks behind the bar, and it makes it a lot easier to get another $4 margarita after you suck the first one down. I'm pretty sure the $4 margaritas are what keep us coming back so often - seriously fresh and delicious, and I could drink them all day as long as I could walk home. The burgers are quite tasty and very reasonably priced. I've tried the guacapotle and the Lockhart legend burgers. Both were delicious, but I think I'd order the guacapotle again before the Lockhart...or try one of the many other options! I've also had the fries, the sweet potato fries, and the onion rings. The sweet potato fries rocked my world: they were everything a sweet potato fry always tries to be but so rarely achieves. If you are there between 3 and 6 in the afternoon, there's a special bar menu with bacon cheese fries for $3 or an amazing pile of fries, pulled pork, pineapple, BBQ, cheese, and jalapenos for $4. Seriously, the luau fries are worth the trip along, especially for $4. Both the cheese fries and luau fries are also a big enough portion for multiple folks to share - I'm pretty sure 2 people could make a solid meal out of the luau fries. Overall, awesome place, terrible parking lot due to construction, but don't let it keep you away.

It's a nice place. The hostess was nice and welcoming. We ordered the Voodoo Mushroom burger, one regular and one with turkey; we ordered a side of fries and another of sweet potato fries. The burgers were pretty tasty, but not mind-blowing, hence the 4 and not 5 stars. The fries were really good too, especially the sweet potato ones.

Was super excited when I heard this restaurant was opening. A burger place right by work. Yay. So when my monthly lunch with coworkers came around, I made sure to schedule it for here. We arrived at 11:30am and the ordering process was quick and easy. This is fast casual sort of dining. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. I was satisfied with the mix of burgers (quite creative) and the non-beef burgers (for those interested in that sort). I ordered the OMG burger (gotta love chili), fries, and a strawberry milkshake. Honestly, I found the burger to average. Perhaps my expectations were too high. The fries were pretty good but a bit oily. The milkshake was incredible though. One of the best strawberry milkshakes ever. Food 3 stars, milkshake 5 starts- average to 4 stars. Given my recent YEE experience (see review), I will be back to dine on another burger and redeem my free shake.

This is a wonderful addition to Loehmann's Plaza (I'll be honest, I was always a little creeped out by the previous tenant of this space...Lettuce SOUPrise You). My dear friend April D. and I came here for dinner on a Friday night a couple of weeks ago and had a great experience. At Grub Burger Bar, you order at the counter and then your food is brought out to your table. The restaurant was really busy when we arrived, but it didn't take long to get to the front of the line. There were plenty of open tables to choose from after we ordered. I like the variety of seating options here: booths, regular tables, and bar seating. I ordered the "You're My Boy Blue" burger (blue cheese, balsamic caramelized onions, tomato and arugla) and a side salad. Delicious all around! April got the chili which she said was fantastic. We also had samples of the Worms and Dirt shake which was very yummy. One thing that is nice about this restaurant is that while you order at the counter, they still have waiters. So if you want to order something after your first order, you can order and pay from your table. This is excellent if halfway through your meal you decide you really did need the boozy milkshake that you failed to order. Or if you are ordering something to-go for your roommate at the end of your meal. I am excited to come back to Grub Burger Bar to try their other offerings!

Went here with a group of 4 and had a great experience. The burgers were good quality for the price, skinny fries were awesome, and pretzel and peanut milkshake for dessert put the icing on the cake. We tried three different burgers and they were all around the same quality. My advice is go with your gut - the food is pretty good here.

Located off North Druid Hills Road in the Loehman's Plaza ( which is under a big renovation ) sits GRUB Burger. A nice enough place which offers decent burgers. My problem is two-fold.... The place has no vibe. It's antiseptic and bland like the corporate boys at McDonalds said "We need to be hip" Secondly, As I sat at the bar waiting on my burger I noticed a family of three arrive with a dog on a leash. A non-service dog whom the escorted in and down the line like this was some people pet dining place! The eventually took a seat on the patio with the animal but nonetheless I was dismayed. I just don't like getting a fries at the same place Fido hangs around in the main facility.

Today I tried Guacapotle burger. I loved it! I like it more than You're My Boy Blue burger. The sauce is so good, the guacamole was fresh, the patty was cooked just right. Everything was seasoned right. I ordered one more for to go :) The lunch traffic wasn't bad. We sat outside in the patio. Weather was beautiful. Good time!!

We came for happy hour after work on a Wednesday night. I was a little surprised to see you order at a counter as opposed to waiter service, but nevermind - it all worked out. I heard there were happy hour specials, so I ordered a $4 margarita and the tuna. Turns out, my cashier said that happy hour specials ended at 5:00 and it was just 5:10. Bummer. I later found out that the other cashier told my colleagues that the happy hour specials were until 6:00, so they got half off their apps. We found a place to sit, although we were assaulted by the very loud speakers regardless of where we sat. Thumbs down. We ordered the cheese fries and the crawfish roll (I forget what its called) for apps. My colleagues also got burgers. The cheese fries were really good - thin, crispy fries with just the right balance of cheese and jalapenos. The crawfish roll was a bust - it was soggy and tasted funky. Even our waitress admitted it wasn't her fave (in the most diplomatic explanation I've ever heard - kudos to her!)... My $4 margarita was fine enough for $4. I had them add soda water to it, which I think helped it along. It definitely tasted of sugared mix the more I drank it. The burger was beefy, simple, and good. One of my colleagues got a signature burger; the other just a plain cheeseburger. Everyone agreed that a plain cheeseburger was the way to go. I'm sure we'll be back - service was pleasant (aside from the happy hour special snafu) and super helpful, the ambience was fine (maybe they will turn the speakers down), and the food good. There aren't a lot of places like this so close to our office, so for us, yay!

It was a rainy weekend and my boyfriend and I decided to hop in and try Grub since it's fairly new. It's an upscale steak and shake. We decided to sit at the bar so we could get service but I was a bit disturbed by the cleanliness of things behind the bar. I used to serve and bartend and witnessed many things that I didn't care for. Burger and shake selection are great. The burger came out cooked correctly, juicy, and on the warmest and softest bun I think I've ever experienced. I usually nix the bun on any burger I order, not this time. Our service was subpar. The server we had decided to leave right at shift change and switch us to a new server. She responded, "I've been here since like 9-10am." Well it's only 3, welcome to the real world of attempting an 8 hour day. I've served in the past but we were expected to close out our tables unless they were taking ridiculously too long we could plus it over. In between switching servers we were a bit neglected. I was disappointed to see dogs allowed inside that were not service dogs, and the rainy day made for wet dogs prancing through. They came in and were taken to the patio but it seems there should be a seating arrangement to go ahead and sit outside rather than bringing the animals indoors then back outdoors. I have allergies, I prefer my food not be around shedding dogs. Food was good, atmosphere was okay, I would recommend my friends order take out as fast food from here rather than sit and be served.

There are soooooo many burger places to choose from in Atlanta. This place offers more than the rest, it is great for a meal or to just stop in and have a drink. Ambiance: it is open, bright and the outside patio is great. Menu: The menu had a lot of variety and they also have specials during the month. Greek to me - this is my favorite thing on the menu. I sub the chicken for their Ahi Tuna steak. The combination of the Tuna with the tzatziki, vinaigrette and feta is to die for! My husband has had the.. the front porch", guacapotle and the voodoo mushroom. He said there isn't a burger here that he hasn't loved. The skinny fries and the sweet potato fries are amazing! Drinks: the Four dollar Rita is delicious and a bargain. The Jalapeño Pepper Lemonade, is something I normally wouldn't order but I'm very glad I did. Great combinations. Finally, my go to low cal drink when here is the 85 calorie Blueberry Line Lite.

Ok. So walking in we needed help because we saw the bar and where to order food and didn't know how to bring them together. However, a nice employee helped us out (and gave me a nutella milkshake sample ) They had ice cold Son OF a Peach beer on tap (that is brought to your table after ordering, if your wondering how we brought them together.) Very satisfying on a hot afternoon. Now, the burgers. I've had bad ones, cheap ones, awesome one...and now this one. Seriously, it's up there with one of the greats. We got the voodoo burger (swiss and mushroom burger), medium rare. Juicy, flavorful and with a little kick. Also got the onion rings, which where great! Very crunchy. Service was fast and courteous. Food was great. Overall great experience. We'll be back.

My favorite burger I had here was the Baja Shrimp & avocado burger back in April. Always sit at the bar for better and faster service. Get the melon-basil margarita. Ask for every dipping sauce they offer to go with the skinny fries. If you are wanting to stay on the healthy side of things the turkey burger and the ahi tuna salad are pretty dang good. Definitely will keep coming back as long as there is a seat at the bar.

Yummy! The buns are made daily and so good. The fries are my favorite skinny fries and they have a great open concept inside with huge widows. Food: I had the classic burger called the front porch. Good simple burger. For an appetizer my boyfriend and I got he ahi tuna. It's a thicker cut than I prefer but he loved it and it is seasoned and seared medium rare. He also got their Greek burger but with the lemon sauce on the side which was a good call because that is a lot of lemon and I think would have been too over powering on the burger. :) I would definitely go there again with friends; it's a cute spot that would look great at night too.

Every now and then, I'll give these burger-centric restaurants a try. More often than not, these kinds of places let me down (I'm looking at you "Yeah Burger" and "Farm Burger"!). Not so with Grub Burger Bar. While the aforementioned establishments try to market something inherently unhealthy (a burger) as "organic", "non-gmo", "gluten-free", "locally-grown", (insert other hoity-toity, trendy buzzword) - and ultimately produce a rather average burger, Grub Burger Bar keeps it real - Texas-style. You're at a Burger Bar dammit! You're gonna eat unhealthy - don't delude yourself. Grub Burger Bar drops the pretense. Grub Burger Bar is a fast casual restaurant - you order and pay at the counter, seat yourself, and wait for your food and beverage to be brought to your table. Despite the volume of guests, the operation moved like a well-oiled machine. The food was flying out of the kitchen door to hungry guests in quick order. We didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes. Not bad at all. I ordered the OMG Burger: topped with Texas chili, skinny fries (yes, on the burger), cheddar, chopped onions, and mustard. I requested no onions. My wife ordered the Guacapotle Burger: chipotle aioli, cheddar, and guacamole. We each cut our burgers in half and shared, giving ourselves the opportunity to try both burgers. We also split a Tiramisu shake (a special shake being offered at the time). With our burgers, we had sides of skinny fries with Jalapeno Ranch and Mississippi Comeback sauces. The burger patty itself was perhaps a pinch over-salted, but otherwise good, and I totally dug the Texas chili, cheddar, and mustard... kinda like having a Coney Island Hot Dog in burger form. Yummers. The Guacapotle burger was exactly as expected. The skinny fries were crispy... a few of them were perhaps just slightly too crispy. Overall still very enjoyable with those tasty dipping sauces. My wife preferred the jalapeno ranch, I preferred the Mississippi Comeback sauce. The highlight, strangely enough, was the Tiramisu shake. Dessert perfection... essentially the flavors of iced coffee, but better, in shake form - with a ladyfinger cookie to boot! If they're still offering it if/when you visit, definitely try it. Now let's temper our expectations, this is fast-casual - not a full service restaurant. The food is decent for what you're paying and for the style of service. Compared with similarly themed restaurants, Grub Burger Bar earns a 4-star Yelp rating.

As far as Lockhart Legend is concerned, this place is solid, with great services! I can never get enough burgers anytime, that's why I'm so excited to move back to metro Atlanta, and get more burgers. Grub Burger Bar is so close to my new apartment that I went there the first week I moved in. It's located in a plaza with a lot of fast casual restaurants(Zoes Kitchen, Panera Bread) and drive-thru Starbucks(!). The inside is cool and casual too. It never hurts to try yelp highlighted items, so I ordered Lockhart Legend. Sadly, there're no greens and tomatoes. But the sauce, as a lot of people mentioned, is a bomb. Well, I kinda had the sauce before, maybe in a Korean restaurant, but it was still very solid. I just wish they can substitute two onion rings to lettuce or tomatoes. Personally, I would avoid fried stuff, especially when I'm already eating unhealthy burger. The place was quite new, but still had a vibe like killer burger. Service was great. More than two waiters/waitresses checked upon me while I was eating alone. Definitely will go back and try their milkshakes and other flavors.

When I arrived at 11:50 there were only a few people in line and many beautiful business type people seated at the tables. I leaned against the windowsill for a moment to glance at the menu. I stood up and a group of 6 cut in line right before me. Lesson learned beautiful business people are ruthless at lunch time. Luckily it was only six because in minutes 20 more people popped up behind me rapidly creating a line out the door. Hats off to the staff as the service is outstanding and they work their bottoms off to aid in making the line move quickly. The staff is super professional and friendly. As the line grew I could see the staff ramping up their pace to keep the line moving. So much full!!! The burgers are face sized but I was ambitious and got fries to go with my meal. So glad I did, they embodied everything I always want in fries. Crisp and salty on the outside, soft on the inside. The whole experience ended up being burger perfection. My one regret was I did not get a milkshake, they were beautiful and every time one passed I wished I could taste with my eyes. I ordered the salmon burger which was quite delightful. I'm used to salmon patties that always leave me wanting something more salmony. But this was a salmon patty far from the salmon patties of my childhood. Instead of fine shreds of tightly compacted salmon meat. It was large chunks of well seasoned salmon between the halves of a perfect house made roll. I'm so glad I got the burger to go because I was a disaster eating it.. It's only the natural course of things when you try to consume something the size of your face. It has now been added on my list of places to eat when I'm passing through Atlanta.

Great juicy burgers! We came on Saturday around 1:30 and plenty of tables available. You can either sit at the bar and the bartender takes your full order or if you want to sit at a table me you order your food at the counter then take a seat and they'll bring food to you. We decided to sit a the bar. They have a nice selection of cocktails and beers. I decided to hold off on the cocktails since I knew I was going to want a spiked shake after meal. The bartender was great. I thought she did a very good job between handling the customers around the bar as well as making the drinks for the Customers at the tables. She wasn't exactly chatty but that's fine with me..food came quickly and the burgers were really delicious. See my pictures for description. My husband absolutely loved the chimichurri sauce that was on the burger. He said if they gave him a cup of it he'd drink it all alone. The sweet potatoe fries were really good and crunchy. At first I thought they were burnt but when I tasted them they were perfect. For dessert we ordered the bourbon and caramel shake and the bartender was nice enough to split one shake into two. We'll definitely come back for more!

Had a wonderful dinner last night at Grub. The staff was very courteous and friendly, I couldn't ask for more. Luckily I was able to sample and share different dishes on the menu with my table. I'm happy to know that they bake their own bread and grind their own meat. So we had the Guacapotle, Lockhart Legend, Thai Peanut, and the Jive Turkey. Out of those four, surprisingly it was the turkey burger that stood out the most! Probably is the best turkey burger that I have ever had to date! Pair off your meal with a Grub beer, brewed from the local Red Brick Brewery. Definitely going to check out their other location in Cumberland!

I felt my testosterone level rise as I held the huge Baja Shrimp Burger with two hands. Toppings included buttery slices of avocado, creamy crumbles of queso fresco, baja slaw, pickled chiles and zesty chipotle mayo. The wheat bun was soft and fresh, and the shrimp was tasty although over salted. My side of black beans and corn was also a great addition. The only pinch came from the $15 price tag, which I expect from higher end General Muir and Holeman and Finch. My friend devoured the Lockhart Legend burger complete with two jumbo onion rings on top of the patty and graced with Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce. The name feels right: G - good people, R- real food, U - unique vibe, B - bold flavors. GBB offers an open and relaxing atmosphere for kicking back with friends and 'happier hour' specials are offered twice a night from 3-6 pm and 9-11 pm. There are 9 burger bar locations nationwide and this jumps to 12 by July, with the majority of locations in Texas. Friendly staff who aim to please is always better than apathetic workers, but service was slightly intrusive during our first visit with several people stopping by during our meal. Overall a breath of fresh air in the Emory area. Oh and skinny fries are the same as thin mints - the more you eat, the more you frown at the scale.

I got the You're My Boy Blue burger. The burger tasted very good. Lots of flavor, juicy, good size, lots of ingredients. Based off of the name, I was expecting more blue cheese. There were only a few crumbles. The burger was also a little greasy from how the onions were cooked. The burger is served with a large cutting knife, which cut the burger nicely. Otherwise, the burger would be too big to eat whole. I ordered sweet potato fries with my burger. They were definitely some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. Nice crisp and tasty flavor. They handed out a sample of the Kitchen Sink milkshake. It tasted amazing. Tasted like Butterfingers. Based off of other reviews and pictures, I went with the Worms and Dirt milkshake, which is basically a cookies and cream milkshake with gummy worms on top. It was good, but definitely wish I got the Kitchen Sink. That milkshake was very different. Overall, great food and serve. Lots of parking.

I've been here twice so far and have been pleasantly surprised both times. The first time, I got the Thai peanut. Peanut butter with nuts and piranha sauce is an amazing combination. Today I got the OMG burger, which is adequately named, and sweet potato fries. The chili tasted amazing and wasn't too spicy. Definitely beats farm burger and flip burger in flavor and price! My new burger joint for sure!

Slow service is the key to this place. Getting drinks is even slower when you are sitting at the bar with 3 bartenders at 1 pm on a weekend, it would take strobe lights to get their attention to have another round and AFTER you get that other round of drinks. Make sure its what you ordered the first time.

I liked it....very strongly. The burger I tried first was the Lockhart Legend, which I felt was overrated. It was good, but I kind of expected more. But it was great enough to warrant multiple visits back to try everything on the menu. On our receipts were received coupons for free shakes at our next visit. But I don't live in the area and didn't make it back before the 10 day expiration date. But I LOVE the atmosphere. Casual and laid back, but still modern and up beat. Next time I will try the "You're My Boy Blue" and a spiked shake. My friend gives it 10 thumbs way up!!!! I also hear that their non beef burgers are amazing! And the Ahi tuna salad I watched my friend devour looked almost too beautiful to eat. But apparently it wasn't too beautiful for her to eat because she testified that it was tre' yummy'!

I really like this place. The burgers are very, very tasty and a reasonable size for the price. I've had 4 or 5 different burgers by now, and all of them have been good. I'm particularly fond of The OMG (the chili cheeseburger). The market burgers (their burgers of the month) tend to be hit and miss, the current one is good but the shrimp burger they just rotated out didn't look particularly appetizing. The skinny fries are very good, though far from the best I've ever had, and I have no complaints about the onion rings either. I expect that I will continue to eat here often. If I had to make suggestions about the menu, I think they probably should add another 2 or 3 burgers to the menu, or maybe one more burger and a couple more chicken sandwiches. I'd like just a little more variety. I will echo a few other reviews and say that the set up for ordering, etc. leaves something to be desired. You order at the counter, which is fine, but I don't think you can order alcohol there, which doesn't make a lot of sense. Then they have quasi-wait staff walking around to take alcohol orders or take orders for additional items. Not only does that introduce complexity where it isn't needed, but if you don't think about it ahead of time, there's a real danger of under-tipping when you pay at the counter. This is especially true for people eating there for the first time. They need to pick a model: either go to a traditional waiter-based ordering system, or everything needs to be done at the counter.

Had the voodoo mushroom burger and my friend had the turkey. I liked the turkey better. The voodoo had too many flavors going on for me. I could definitely taste the combo of the absinthe marinade and hot sauce. It tasted a bit like pork breakfast sausage. It was a bit too salty. However, the bun was delicious and just the right density and fluffiness. The turkey burger was topped with bacon, sprouts and avocado on a wheat bun. Yum. But I was confused. Why would someone order a turkey burger and top it with pork bacon? I certainly wasn't complaining though. I only gave it 3 stars because of the high sodium. Maybe my next experience will be less salty. They bake fresh buns every morning and make their own burger patties on the daily too. We got to try their strawberry and nutella shakes for free for saying something nice on Vday weekend. Nutella. Need I say more? Interior is cute. Spring time will make patio dining nice. Ordering is like Yeah burger---order, pay, find a seat and they bring it out. I plan to try it again. :)

I came here to get a to-go order, waited over 10 minutes in line just to be skipped by three other people who just walked up and started placing their order. When I told the cashier that I was next, she just looked up, mumbled something and CONTINUED TAKING THEIR ORDER! When I spoke with the manager, she just said well, it's her first day and you can order at the bar.... Awful......

The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable! My server Tashi even cared enough to ask me if I was ok to drive home after having drinks. I cannot say enough about the dedication to her craft that this woman had. She is a great to this establishment. Fantastic restaurant would recommend to anyone looking for great service and great food.

The service this past Tuesday at your North Druid Hills location was absolutely brutal. I was looking forward to finally finding a nice location to have a few drinks besides Red Pepper Taqueria. It makes no sense that you have one person making all the alcohol drinks as well as the milk shakes at the bar. The manager was working very hard that I almost felt bad for her. This comes down to the owners not running this business like it needs to be. In a hour span I witnessed at least $300 worth of high margin alcohol business walk out of the establishment, which includes us sitting at the bar and not one time being offered the opportunity to even make an order. I am afraid if the owners don't get this business straightened out soon we will be finding this location on the TV show Profit giving up 51% of the ownership rights to Marcus Lemonis. Food was great service is ownerships fault.

I have never been nor heard of this place before. I liked the inside of the establishment and I love the uniformed look. Since I've never been here before I didn't know what exactly to order... I end up going with the turkey burger (which I've never had a turkey burger) I must say that it was DEEEEELish. I wish their fries were thicker, I don't like the skinny fries. The alcoholic drinks were fun. I most certainly see myself going back very soon! Thanks Grub Bar :)

I recently noticed a Grub Burger Bar had opened on Briarcliff Rd. And Lavista in a newly rehabbed shopping center. Walking inside I was greeted by a Welcome to Grub Burger Bar by the bartender. So you can eat at the rectangular bar where there were 5 beers on tap or at your choice of table. Walk to the back to place your order or the bartender. Was asked at the register if this was my first visit. I replied yes it was. And that was it. Normally I expect menu suggestions or something else beyond do you want the combo?. I sat down in the pretty much empty (there were 2 at the bar and 3 at tables) dining room. It was around 3 on a hot Saturday. I ordered the Lockhart Legend burger. It has 2 fried onion rings, bacon and bbq sauce. Some of my favorite toppings. I also got a side of o rings with my combo. First, avoid the tea. Sweet isn't sweet, there's black, raspberry and also green to choose from. All flavorless. And they need the coke freestyle machine. Food arrived hot, at least. Burger cooked to mw like they say they do. Good bun that holds together and doesn't sogg out. But burger lacked the flavor of salt. Onion rings were great! Hot, big and thick but also missing salt. And don't get me started on the not fresh cut, soggy, salt-less fries! Burgers and fried go together. It's not hard to do fresh cut fries. I'll be back but not a good first impression.

Everytime you turn your head there is a new burger bar popping up. I try to wait until the hype has settled down before trying a new restaurant. After squeezing your car in a teeny space inside the Loehman's Plaza you will find Grub Burger. When you enter you immediately face the counter you will order from. You will then be given a number and try to find a place to sit. I ate the Lockhart Legend Burger with a Fried Egg of course, Sweet Potato Fries, and a Hibiscus Tea. The burger was pretty good and I liked the taste and texture of the sweet potato fries. The hibiscus tea and some of the other teas are unsweetened I believe but there are sugars and sweeteners available. The server informed me that the shakes were lactose free but I didn't see confirmation of this on the menu. I hope they are, I would LOVE to try one of their quirky shake combinations on my next visit.

As one of the people that was sad to see the previous tenant close. I'm much happier with the new spot. Grub is nice, clean, and most importantly busy. As for the food. There are two ways to make a burger. Crispy or juicy. Grub goes after juicy and nails it. All the different toppings are nice but the real stand out is the bun. Freshly made and slightly chewy. I can already feel myself turning into a bun snob. Other than that the fries and rings are tasty and better than most. Shakes are good although they are too thin. But they have a Nutella shake and a few boozy options as well. Only issues are they are a little slow and the inside TVs are pointing the same direction so only half your table can see.

Let me start off by saying that the food was delicious. Guacamolte burger was great, onion rings were good and so was the american pie milkshake. The greeter, Natasha, was nice upon entry and departure as well. However..the short girl who took our order at the counter was quite and the bartenders were horrible. I get it...we ordered food at the counter I ordered a beer at the counter and a second at the bar. Tatted up dude was a dick and never once greeted us or cleaned up after us. My second beer was at the bar to make amends...but to no avail. Atmosphere and music was good though. Your bartenders need to learn a thing or two about customer service. Oh yeah...the tables said they were reserved but no one was there to reserve them? And the bartender refused to play the braves game but no-one was watching what was on. Go Braves!

This is a more expensive version of Red Robin. The decor is nice, the experience is pleasant, the burgers are fine and there is good variety. It's just that Atlanta has so many better burger options (Grindhouse, Yeah! Burger, farm burger, shake shack, etc) it's hard to compete. I had the bacon, BBQ, onion ring burger (pictured here) it tasted like a Carl's Jr Western Bacon Cheeseburger (this is a compliment), my wife had the muffalata burger (she especially liked the bun), my daughter had the chicken fingers. We were all satisfied and my wallet was unexpected lighter.

My first visit to Grub was a mixed bag, but a bag that contained promise. The design (interior and exterior) seemed very Austin, Texas, though they don't have a location there. The chain was actually founded in College Station (Texas A&M) but I won't hold that against them. I'm not a fan of the high chair/high table thing, but at least they had foot rests built into the tables so I didn't have to dangle my legs and feet. This was its first full week (I went on Thursday 02/05), so I know there will be things that need to be shaken down and out as they get used to the operations and the new employees cue in on the flow of the location and its traffic. The staff working the touch-screen registers were a little slow, but again, new store. The manager/shift manager standing behind them, however, was unpleasant. Aside from suffering from RBF, she stink-eyed the order screens, cashiers and other staff swirling around her for the entire time our party was ordering. She never acknowledged us, smiled, or did anything to to make us-or her staff-feel welcome. I understand that it was the lunch crush and this is all new, but all the more reason to connect with the clientele. I'm not sure her future is in the hospitality business, which is what stores like this deliver along with the food. When I ordered and was given the ticket to sign, there was a line for a gratuity. I was fuddled momentarily since this appeared to be the sort of joint where you order your food, have it dropped off to you when it was ready, and no further service. I went ahead and put down a blind 20% gratuity because when younger I worked enough years in food service to know how hard it is. Lo and behold, there actually were servers! Our staffer was charming, delightful, and attentive (all 180 degrees to the opposite of the RBF manager). She checked in with us after bringing our food, kept our (plastic) cups full, and cleared away dishes as each of us finished our chow. Since I had put the tip on the receipt when I ordered I asked her how they handle the gratuities paid up front. To my dismay, they pool their tips, so know that when you tip here your server will have to share it. Ugh. The open floor plan with lots of flat surfaces paired with a full house made for a VERY loud experience. We also had one of the speakers directly above us and the music was too loud for easy conversation. I love my music loud, but not when I'm trying to have lunchtime conversation. Having traveled all over Texas and Louisiana, when I see something hot & spicy on a menu, i have to give it a go. Sure enough, there was the Ghost Burger! It included japalenos and ghost chilis. Now, knowing this, I expected it was going to be a burner. It certainly was! The jalapeños were fresh-cut and much hotter than pickled jalapeños. The ghost chili had been pureed and spread on the inside of the bun (the bun was actually sopping wet from the sauce), and it too was scorching hot. While I have a taste for heaters, my wish is simple: don't have the heat overwhelm the flavor. Unfortunately, it did exactly that. I could taste little of the burger itself because of the scoville units blistering my mouth. Despite this, I would order it again and simply ask for a lighter hand with the ghost puree. I will also look at alternative buns because the bun it came with held up poorly and began to come apart. That may have been made worse by the fact that my burger patty was broken in two parts and didn't help with stability. The string fries were wonderfully crunchy and salted to perfection, offering me respite from the heat of the ghosts. the downside of string fries, though, is that they go cold very quickly. Bear that in mind when ordering. My colleagues ordered a mushroom burger and a veggie burger and were both satisfied with their meal. We agreed that we will add Grub to our lunch rotation. This could be a great destination (and earn 4 or 5 stars) once the opening kinks are worked out and the manager stops scowling at everyone.

In today's burger-centric world, you better do something great, or you won't last. Grub makes an average burger that's rather expensive. The place looks great, but while we were there for lunch, the bartender was showing an episode of Bones on the TV. Not pleasant to see decomposed bodies while eating a rare burger. I made the mistake of ordering the onion rings and was shocked at how bad they were. Literally the worst I've ever eaten - I'm not exaggerating. I'm pretty sure that you could give 100 monkeys some flour, salt, water, and onions and they would create a better onion ring. My advice - get the fries.

I didn't even know that they'd opened and I live just a few steps away. I just happened to see people inside stirring around. I wish that I took pics, but I will when I go back. To be safe, I tried their Front Porch burger and added blue cheese for $.75. It was really good! I also got their American Pie milkshake; also awesome. The only thing-- and the reason for 3 instead of 5 stars-- is that THEIR PRICES ARE WAY TOO HIGH. You get good, quality food yes, but I'd like to get a side item WITH a burger without feeling like I've spent too much. I originally had this at 4 stars, but for me, price is everything-- even if I was able to eat at a place like this daily, I'd be looking at the prices. It's a good place, but it shouldn't be priced as a 5-star restaurant. I hope there are coupons or deals to come. Again, the food is really good, so no problem there.

Yummy burgers! My boyfriend got a Thai Peanut and I got a You're my Boy Blue, and mine was so delicious - the caramelized onions went so well with the blue cheese, and the arugula added in great texture! In the Thai Peanut one, I found the peanut butter to be a little overwhelming, and I honestly kind of missed the cilantro lime coconut flavor they mentioned in the menu, but it was still very good. Overall, the buns were nice, the patties were delicious, and we are fans! Also, I was pleasantly surprised to see tabouleh on the menu, which I'm a sucker for, and it's not a usual side for burgers, but it was refreshing and tangy and great with my burger!

I used to love driving by Lettuce Souprise You (love me a good pun), but I love eating at Grub Burger Bar even more! This place is AMAZEBALLS!!! Not only is the food amazing, but it's fun too. Some of the flavor combinations are unexpected/out of the ordinary, which is refreshing considering how popular burger joints are these days. Here's what I gobbled down: Cheese fries = glorious, glorious, glorious You're My Boy Blue Burger = Juicy, flavorful, amazing caramelized onions Lockhart Legend Burger = Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce and best onion rings ever Kitchen Sink Shake = Sounds like it shouldn't be good, but it was INCREDIBALLS American Pie Shake = real pie filling and crust. mmm. There are so many great burger places in Atlanta, but this one is hands-down my new favorite.

Great voodoo burger, fries were made to order for sure! I like how they handed me a sample Oreo shake just before I ordered, business humor. It was good too. Atmosphere is cool and fun. Good for kids as its a loud lunch crowd. I'll be back and bring the family.

Great burgers. Had the ghost burger was amazing. The food was served fast and the set up is nice and new. The managing staff is very friendly. We were greeted promptly by a nice host, the cashier was quick and nice. My friend is pregnant and even though they only make medium well they made her a well done burger and were really nice.

Our second visit was much more pleasant. This time it was with a group and the manager stopped by to check on us a couple times. I had the yummy Guacapolte burger and, naturally, I prefer it to the turkey burger salad I had the first time. Still haven't tried the milkshakes but I hear they're quite good. Overall, a solid neighborhood burger spot, but it doesn't wow. My opinion might be slightly tainted though. After you've had burgers at the General Muir and Bocado nothing ever tastes the same.

There are so many better burger options. My take: PROS: - Offers some unusual burgers, including several non-beef burgers (even a chick pea and eggplant burger). - Skinny fries are tasty. - Offers some healthy sides like tabbouleh. - Ambiance is, as the name suggests, like a bar: lively, fun environment. - The buns on the burgers are good. - They have both an indoor and outdoor seating area. CONS: - The burgers we got were extremely salty, to the point of interfering with natural flavor you would want to come through. - While the burgers are of a good size and seem to be of reasonable quality with prices ranging from $7 to $9, they aren't as good as many other great burger joints around town. If a place is selling itself based on its burgers, I expect to be impressed by them. I was actually somewhat disappointed, particularly by the aforementioned excessive salt. This place seems to be more notable by using a lot of different toppings on the burgers but not by the beef patties themselves being particularly juicy or flavorful. - Very loud during peak hours, to the point of making conversation difficult. - The crawfish pistollete was something of a joke...an $8 appetizer consisting of small pieces of French bread with a crawfish topping. It is 98% bread and 2% of a crawfish "paste." Read: ripoff and not especially good either. - The unsweet tea was bad. It tasted old. - The gimmick of having a guy come to your table after you've already received your food and give a canned speech about being your "table support" and trying to push you to order spiked shakes or other bar beverages was annoying. - Their "deal" of an extra $4.30 for a small side of fries and a regular drink, as an addition to your burger, isn't much of a deal. Basically, a somewhat fancy sounding, over-salted hamburger with a giant onion ring or some other topping, along with small fries and soda, runs you $12-$13. Ehh......nothing special. - Contrary to the hype...I would call this place "nothing special." I have to wonder about some of these reviews that sound so exuberant... Did the place start giving out promo meals? I mean seriously....Atlanta is a burger town.... With places like Farm Burger, Grindhouse, Corner Pub, the Earl, and many others in the area....it's hard to take this place seriously.

**as viewed by a disabled person*** I would give the food 4stars, but the accessibility needs work. They only have 3 tables inside that are low and they were all taken by families with kids in high chairs. If you are in a wheelchair it's gonna be sorry out of luck. There are tables on the patio, but on a cold rainy day that's not gonna work. Good food thought. Try the tobouleh.

Every time I go to Grub burger they always seem to exceed my expectations! The staff is super friendly and always willing to make things right if your order is wrong or not what you expected! I don't eat beef so I love that they provide alternative options on the menu! Burger of the Sea (minus the ginger pickles) is my absolute favorite. The flavor profile is right on and it makes it hard to try anything else on the menu! So run, don't walk, to Grub Burger because it is pretty amazing!

Brand new Grub Burger! Love the location, in a plaza I frequent on a regular basis- plenty of parking in front and in the surrounding plaza, even though there is some construction going on across the plaza. Long line at the counter since there was only one register open (given the opening week lines, you would think another staffer would jump on the 2nd register)...you order at the register, pay, get your own soda/water and sit down with one of those numbered buzzer things. It was very busy, even in the middle of a Saturday afternoon between typical lunch and dinner hours. Large and varied menu...make sure you grab one on the way in and make your decision while waiting in line. Smart setup...once you enter the front door, you are immediately facing the cashier order line along the wall, with all the seating to your left. I ordered the jive turkey burger (which comes with cheese, bacon, avocado, sprouts and aioli...the menu said the turkey was seasoned with pesto but I don't think I tasted any basil). It was very tasty and the ingredients were very fresh. I also ordered a side of Grub skinny fries which were crispy but cold. I also realized when I sat down at the bar after I ordered, that you could also place and pay for your order at the bar, like a regular restaurant. The bar staff was very helpful and friendly. It took about 10 minutes to get my order, which was brought to me by a server. As another Yelper mentioned, all the tables and chairs are bar-height tall, which makes it interesting for a short person like myself. The decor is modern and clean with some blond wood accents. There are two TVs by the bar for sports viewing. Whoever's iPod or Pandora music play list that was playing while I was there must have gone to junior high with me since I was enjoying my meal to the songs of Pearl Jam and REM (I also caught Stairway to Heaven playing too).

5 stars!!! :) :) :) Their ghost burger is fantastic! Just enough heat and sweetness. It's by far the best I've ever had. Also, their milkshakes are made from coconut ice cream and coconut milk, so this lactose intolerant girl can FINALLY have one! (Dream come true!) They're amazing - and some come in "adult" flavors, like bourbon and caramel. They are usually busy, but have great service. There is outdoor seating, and a bar area available.

I was not impressed. Had the Ahi Tuna salad. Not worth the $11 that I paid. Then add a fountain drink and tip and my total was $16.55. A little pricy for some salad greens with maybe 6 ounces of cold, seared tuna on it.

This place is great! I went for the first time and ordered just a regular cheese burger, but it was super good! I saw where they have more unique burgers on their menu (chickpea, eggplant, etc) and am planning on going back to try those! The fries were great also! They were covered in cheese and bacon. YUM! I am giving this place four stars, because I think the atmosphere could be better. It was just your usual burger place in that aspect. It had just opened when I went though, so maybe they have made some improvements in that area. I can't wait to go back and see!

I have to say that Grub burger is one of the best burger places I have been to in a VERY LONG TIME. I had a wonderful experience two days ago. It started off when I got to the cashier counter. I was greeted by a lovely and bubbly young lady. She was so nice and helpful. She even got me to try to shake that they are testing out. It is the Worms & Dirt shake with strawberry in it. It was very tasty but really sweet. So I would suggest that you drink lots and lots of water. When I got my food it was hot and the presentation was very nice. The burger was cooked exactly how I asked and it was juicy and flavorful. The skinny fries are nothing to write home about but the burger MORE THAN makes up for it. Oh and by the way this is my second visit. I chose to write a review after my second visit in order to have a factual and honest review. I hope this helps make your decision a little easier to dine here. Trust me you won't regret it. I look forward to going back soon.

Finally tried the new neighborhood gourmet burger entry. The N. Druid Hills area still lacks quick gourmet burger places. It's set up just like Atlanta chain Yeah burger in that you walk in and stand in line on the right hand side, viewing a hand held menu and waiting to place your order at a register. To this point, nothing seems weird. But then things get odd. After you order, they hand you a buzzer (that will never actually buzz - I'm convinced it's GPS) and you make your way to the seating - which all say reserved for those who have ordered (who else would come to Grub Burger to hang out and not order?). About 5 minutes of sitting and waiting an employee comes up and hands us a menu and says he's going to be our server. Huh? We showed him our un-buzzing buzzer and he left, and proceeded to sit down in the corner of the restaurant on his phone for the next 30 minutes. Must have gone on break. Glad he wasn't actually our server. After about 20 minutes (at about 2pm on a Sunday afternoon - not busy) our food was brought to us by an employee and our "buzzer" collected. Ordered the "You're my boy, blue". It wasn't bad - but too many onions overpowered the other ingredients. Also had the shoe-string fries. The effort to eat them weren't quite worth the calories. Tip: The default is "medium well", however you can order any temperature you want. I had my burger medium rare (although only slightly pink).

This place has the nicest, most energetic people I've ever encountered at a restaurant. From the greeters, to the cashiers, to the waitstaff, to the managers - everybody look so damn happy to be there and it honestly puts me in a better mood. The food is pricey - but it's good so I'll deal. What I really appreciate about this place is that they know how to maintain customer retention. My first time ever dining here, I had ordered a milkshake. My burger had come out and while the waitress was dropping it off, I simply just reminded her that I had a milkshake coming still just in case she forgot. A few minutes later a manager comes out with my milkshake and hands me a card for a free milkshake because it took longer than usual for them to make it. Oh my god! What a surprise, because I wasn't upset at all - just was giving the waitress a heads up but it was definitely appreciated and showed that they don't fuck around. I've recommended them to several people since and visit whenever I'm in the 'hood.

I love this place! It's one of my new favorite lunch spots during the work week. I come here a lot with my co workers and we always get the fries. Their skinny fries are amazing! I haven't really been adventurous with the burger choices. I usually get the regular hamburger, but the fries are enough to make me want to come back! I also highly recommend trying the jalapeno ranch- it's my favorite! Their kitchen sink milkshake is really good, and REALLY filling! So I would advise against getting both a burger and a shake in the same sitting. The only reason they lose a star is b/c the service is SO SLOW! Their lines are really long and take forever, and everything takes a while to get to your table..

Outside of village burger it is a great burger place! Go happy hour and get their kitchen sink milkshake for $4 yummy. Burgers are really good and so are the sides!

I came after hearing numerous people rave about the food and milkshakes. I walked in and was impressed with the decor. I moved quickly through the line at the counter and got a Hippy Chickpea and a glass of house wine for a reasonable price. Fries or side salad cost extra, which is a little lame, but excusable I guess. My burger was absolutely delicious. It was very creative, filling, and it was brought to me quickly. My only qualm is that there isn't an option to substitute a veggie burger patty in for the beef patty on all of the other burgers, which also sound very creative. This is a pretty standard option at places like Red Robin or even Vortex, and I sort of expected it to be an option at Grub. Nevertheless, I will be back, and I'll be trying one of the alcoholic milkshakes. I'm looking forward to it and I won't mind eating the Hippy Chickpea burger again.

Came in yesterday for dinner, and the place was packed. Fortunately, the service was quick. I had never been here, but our server was full of suggestions. I had the 'You're My Boy Blue' and my friend had the 'Lockhart.' One bite and i was hooked! The balsamic caramelized onions were to die for! Make sure you add bacon. All burgers are cooked to medium well, to guarantee optimum juciness. My friend loved the Lockhart so much, that she ordered a second one to go. I will definitely come back again

We have been to this place so many times in the month since they've opened! LOVE IT. the food is fantastic- from the burgers to the fries to even the salads! And the management is super nice! This is the place to be! The guacapotle and the jive turkey are divine!!

My overall experience with Grub Burger Bar was not great. I placed an order to-go. I ordered the OMG burger, onion rings, and a side salad. The wait time for my food actually was not as long as I expected, but when I walked out I realized that they forgot my salad. When I went back to get my salad "the manager I guess" had to review my receipt and bag to make sure that I was telling the truth about ordering the salad. Nice way to gain repeat customers after you made a mistake. As far as the food is concerned it was not bad, but very, very salty. The side salad was better than you would expect from a $3 salad from similar restaurants. The crispy onion rings would have been great if they were not so salty. The burger itself had a nice soft fresh bun, and would have been pretty tasty if the salt was perhaps cut in half. Maybe others will have a better experience, but there was not much to make me feel like I would make a second trip. On a side note to the order taker - Please do not explain to me what medium means after I say that medium will be fine. Especially, when I can see that you are not explaining it to everyone ordering. I am not sure why you would assume that I did not know what medium meant, but you did not make the same assumption with the five people ordering before or the long line of people after me.

Won't be back soon. There is a lot of people working at Grub, but many seem to be just standing around. Not server or employee ever came by our table during the entre visit, and at one point I had to go ask the greeter if she could get someone to make our ordered coffee (cold day). The greeter didn't seem to know where to turn so she didn't do anything. Went back to cash register area to try and get some assistance but got condescending attitude from the girl who appeared to be a team leader. A bit of a stunner Turkey burger and OMG burger were good. Onion rings were mostly heavy batter and oily. Overall for a $50 meal for two adults, a 12yr old and 9yr old, the experience was average at best. With many destination burger spots in town, it will be a long time before I will be giving Grub a second chance.

We had a great first time here at the bar, loved the food and the nice bartenders! The veggie burger was one of the best I've ever had and loved that they had root beer on tap. My only complaint was that they don't have blue chz dressing.

The shrimp Baja burger was delicious. Service was a little slow, hence the 4 star rating. The food definitely warrants a five star rating but I don't understand why they only had one cashier on a Saturday afternoon.

Burger places are all over Atlanta and I've tried most of them. I was especially excited to try this one. I've been twice so far. The first time was just a day or so after opening and I was blow away by the customer service. We had a team of people helping us and everything went without a hitch. I had the Lockhart Legend. Im usually not a fan of BBQ sauce on burgers, but it is Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce, so i thought id try it. I was happy i did. They do not drench the burger in sticky BBQ sauce that cancels out the flavor of everything else. There is so much flavor in the burger im not sure it could be canceled out. The onion rings are huge, about a half inch thick, or more...and you get two. Some advice... split it with a friend or prepare to be useless the rest of your day. We also ordered and mint chocolate chip shake. Goodness... It was so packed full of andies candies. Absolutely delicious and I am not an ice cream person. On the second visit, the kid and I shared a lockhart legend with a salted Carmel shake, it was pretty salty but delicious still, so that must mean we need to try it again to see if that is the norm ;)

I've decided based on another visit that this place is terrible. Burgers have no flavor and not cooked as requested. Won't be back.

The salmon burger tastes like it was made on a grill and not frozen out of some box. I also like that this better burger place has a bar that has tv's that show sports - feels less pretentious than other places.

Burger meat quality is only average. Even if you ask for medium rare, it seems every burger comes out medium to well done ( 3 trials). The service at Briarcliff was very slow (30 minutes wait for two burgers on a Wednesday evening 8pm). THREE dollars for 8 little waffle fries! I would say this place is overpriced for the quality/value. I'm going back to Marlow's or Blue Ribbon Grill for burgers.

  • Wendy B.

I enjoyed the salmon burger; it was a little greasy but still tasted good. I ordered some things to go at the end of our meal to take to my sister, and wasn't told until 20 mins later that they were out of the ordered item, and then had to wait for a new order to be put in and cooked. But, they made it right by giving me a card for free food next time.

Great new burger and shake joint that opened up. The atmosphere in there was great! You can go there to grab drinks with friends or grab dinner with a family with young kids. I had the turkey burger and it was delicious and juicy! I also had the black bean and corn dish that tasted so refreshing. It helps cut the heaviness of the burger. I didn't get a shoe but they have a few beers on tap and several mixed drinks. This may be my new go-to place in the neighborhood

The service was great! You order the burgers and then sit down. My burger was undercooked so the manager personally came to the table and spoke to me. The new burger was perfect! The dr Pepper BBQ SAUCE is TDF! Great place. Will be back

Meh. There are much better burgers around, both local institutions and even other chains. My burger was OK - I got the You're My Boy Blue. The bun was overpowering, waaaaay too thick and doughy, and pretty greasy (though they're called butter buns, so you get what's advertised). The design of the place is cool and contemporary, and the open concept around the bar is attractive. I didn't drink there, but that might be the only way I'd return.

The milkshakes were incredible! The burgers, not so much. The burgers were dry and bland in my opinion. I would only return if I had a craving for a milkshake and was in the area.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting Atlanta for the first time. Chose the Back porch burger and onion rings and was not disappointed. I loved the shake samples and was very tempted to get one but will wait for next time.

Order as soon as you arrive; the onion rings are perfectly thick and crunchy, not greasy. They have a full bar and will take that order when you select your table. I didn't want to believe it was better than the others..but...they are.

Got take out for the family. While I'm definately coming back I'm going to ask them to lay off the salt. Very heavy handed with salt on the burgers and fries. But the food was great and while I couldn't eat the fries I powered through the Voodoo burger.

I've been here on a few occasions and for the most part, this is a great place! The last time I went it wasn't the greatest. Our drinks came out late, and were half way filled and ungarnished. The onion rings I had still had the onion peels on them! I sent them back with the manager, who said that he would bring me fresh ones, but never did. Aside from that however their Lockhart Legend is a must--moist, perfect bun, and great sauce! The grub fries are delicious a crispy! The cheese fries are VERY good--definitely enough to share! Please get the jalapeño ranch, you'll thank me later. The drinks are a little hit or miss, I've had the Grub Signature Infused Rita--had a bit of a weird after taste, the Melon Basil Rita--just not good maybe an acquired taste?, the Patron Rita--ok. However, the Effen Martini was very good, definitely my go to drink here! I've also had the salted caramel shake and it was just too good!!

I've ordered take out twice in the past month & haven't been let down yet. Tasty & fresh ground burgers at good prices. Their sweet potato fries are tasty & the onion rings are huge. I'm looking forward to the chance to dine there next time.

This was a tasty hamburger. An in house blend of Chuck and brisket well seasoned on a fresh baked roll. There was no grease on the bun. Not even from the onion rings. The restaurant is very chill with mellow music and TVs.

First time at this place and I thought I'd give it a try! I ordered the Lockheart Legend, and the burger was huge and very tasty! The atmosphere was very nice and trendy in what is currently the eyesore of Lohman's Plaza. My only complaint is the number of times (and different people) who came up to my table while I was waiting, eating, and preparing to leave. I felt like it was quite overkill and almost intrusive. I appreciate quality customer service, but when there are three different people asking if you need an iced tea refill within 5 minutes (and your glass is more than half full!) it becomes a bit annoying. I'd still recommend this place to a friend, but expect to be visited A LOT!

Great food and service - First visit today at lunch. Loved the mushroom burger and the fries. The meat is fresh and cooked to the medium well temp promised and the bun is really good: fresh but toasted perfectly! . It's fun but note not a quiet spot for conversation! I'll be back!

The seafood burger was not very good. Weird combination of flavors that were overpowered by the pickled ginger. Onion rings were greasy and nothing special. My friend had the greek chicken sandwich and it was good. My son had the MOG burger and loved it. Margaritas were totally not worth it. Every shot is measured and all pours were short. All in all - won't be back.

I went last night for the first time. The Burgers are good along with most of the food. I will say the skinny fries were my favorite. The thing that wasn't as good was the ordering set up. It was a little confusing to tell you the truth. I will go back because like I said it was my first time. Oh yeah and I really did like the decor!

It's was alright---rather make my own burger to be honest for the price. Had the turkey jive burger and the front porch with fries and bean salad. Wasn't that impressed but I can see some peeps liking it but I'm good. Enjoy if u want a good atmosphere and mediocre burger for high price

This is one chic burger place. Went here with a friend sat at the bar and ordered a beer/cider and burger! The Turkey Burger was Amazing, seasoned perfectly! Bartenders were nice and helpful as we sat and watch the games! Overall nice place! Can't wait until the weather permits and sit out on the patio!

Buns are really good... Got chicken tenders and they were light, but over breaded. Fries were over salted. Will come back in a couple weeks and see how it's changed. Good prices on Beer.

  • Mike W.

Got the front yard burger, was ok. Also tried the Harlem chic tenders, the chicken was very fresh but the coating had no taste. The tables were a little confusing as they all have a sign saying they are reserved. I get it that they are for people in line, but I noticed many people thrown off by the signs. I will be back to try the other options and the drinks & shakes sound good. I really liked the design of the place and the outdoor patio would be a great place to hang out once it's warm.

My first visit to this place mid-afternoon today was a mixed bag. The good: I really liked the space, which was airy, clean and modern. The guy who took my order at the front register was very friendly and knowledgeable, explaining how service works at the place, making sure he knew how I wanted the burger cooked, etc. I ordered the Lockhart Legend burger and fries. Since it was cooked to order, I expected to wait, but nearly 20 minutes with very few people in the place seemed a bit much. Finally the very handsome burger arrived, visibly cooked to order, and I happily dove in. My first sensation was that the meat was hot and very juicy. My second, stronger impression was that it tasted fairly strongly of salmon. I don't know whether the grill wasn't properly cleaned or the beef was cooked on a grill section that should be reserved only for fish, but it was not a pleasant sensation. Since I didn't have time to go through another lengthy wait for a replacement, I just made do (the fries were very good). I liked enough things about the place, mainly the staff, to make me willing to try it again, since I'm thinking this was a rookie kitchen mistake. I'd really love to have a first-rate burger place this near my home.

There are a lot of good burger places in Atlanta, but Grub Burger Bar is definitely a top contender. It's been open for a while, but I kept forgetting about it because it's a little off the beaten path in North Druid Hills tucked into the shopping center with the new Fresh Market. My fiance and I made it there last weekend when we needed lunch, but didn't know what we wanted. We walked in and I was impressed with the bustle and line. Grub is a burger place where you place your order, get a GPS tracker and find a table where they bring your food out to. The menu consists of lots of fancy burgers (both beef and other meat options: chicken, tuna, turkey, etc.), sides like skinny fries and onion rings, and lots of milkshake options. These are serious milkshakes too - forget run of the mill, there's milkshakes like Bourbon and Caramel (for grown ups) and the Kitchen Sink (which is pretty true to its name). We opted just for burgers this time, but next time, maybe we'll try a shake. I got the turkey burger with avocado, sprouts, bacon, a pesto flavored turkey patty, swiss cheese and a zesty aioli mayonnaise. My fiance got one of the specialty burgers with onion rings, pickles, cheese, BBQ sauce and bacon plus a side of skinny fries. We got a GPS tracker, which I learned is accurate down to the table inside the restaurant and took a seat. Grub Burger is a very modern burger place: big open layout, a big, free standing bar for patrons to sit around on three sides and a large, covered patio. There's TVs with sports and other shows on around the restaurant, and a combination of booths and tables for In no time at all, a waitress brought our food straight to our table and I was glad we'd decided not to do a shake too - the burgers were big and the serving of fries was too. And let me tell you, my turkey burger was really good - it was rich with all the cheese and bacon and avocado, but really, really good. I think we'll certainly be back in the future.

Let me begin with my first experience which was opening week. My turkey burger arrived raw in the middle and by the time they cooked a new one, my dinner companions had finished eating. When it finally arrived, it was again raw and OILY. My husband's burger was also oily and sweet potato fries soggy. I decided to give it another try and WOW did they improve! We got the chili cheese fries which were perfect! I loved the chili on it and it came with a good yogurt-based dipping sauce. I ordered the veggie burger and my husband got a regular burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were crispy and perfect! My veggie burger was absolutely phenomenal! I could not believe it, I can say that it is hands down the best restaurant veggie burger I have ever had (and I have had them ALL). My husband's burger was cooked to perfect. The staff were friendly, attentive and patient. We had a great experience and will go again! The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is because of my first experience.

Burgers are always on point. Chicken, turkey and beef - all delicious. Salads are phenomenal as well. Jalepeno ranch should come with a straw. Sweet POTATO fries in wedge form - ERMAHGERD! pssst.... Perri is the best bartender/server. Always ask for her!

"If your reviews are sounding like an essay, start a blog. I can't read your life details on my phone before ordering from the menu." [Time & Date of visit]: Weekday night, 8ish [Party Size]: 3 [Location/Ambiance]: Parking - Around the evening with rush hour traffic gone, entering and leaving into the plaza isn't too much of a problem. Hard to say on a busy weekend though. Inside - Entering through the double doors, stay to the right and head your way to the cashiers. Hopefully you were a true foodie and already studied the menu before visiting. If not, there are additional menu's hung up on the right wall if you need another look through. Seating wise, there are various high tables for the booths along the walls and dividers that I believe can fit 4 comfy or maybe 6 kind of close. Maybe. Scattered through out the dining area are more high tables but with stools. Some regular height tables for four are in the middle, if you're afraid of heights. Also a cozy looking patio section. There's also a sit down bar, but I'm not sure if they only take drink orders if you are dining solo. Restrooms - Upon entering, the entrance is on the far, far left of the restaurant. Ambiance - A touch of modern and minimalist for the decor. Music ranges from Odesza, to Lorde, to some bluegrass, then to some Glass Animals - Gooey, and pop / top 40 here and there. Quite a variety on the playlist. Lighting is slightly dim. [Service]: Upon entering, it seems like a fast casual setup. Order and prepay at the counter and the food is brought out to you even though they gave us order pager. Maybe it was a slow night as the staff were also willing to help with refills even though the beverage station was behind us. Just about all the staff came by and I believe the manager to check on us on how we were doing. Beverages ordered from the bar such as beer can also be refilled by one of the staff. I'm not sure how they would do the payment unless it would be on a tab and paid after. [Food Highlights]: Tip - unless specified, they cook the burgers medium well. Crawfish Pistolettes - Snacks - Portion wise, this is made for sharing, but don't eat more than your share. The breading is pretty filling. Though the etouffe to bread ratio is a little off to me, the etouffe starts mildly salty and then has a slight kick on the back end. The breading has a hint of sweetness to me, so it blends pretty well on each bite. Would recommend for sharing for 3-4. Better deal during happy hour. Lockhart Legend - Burger - I requested to have the burger cooked medium, but came out well done. I don't think after resting would have cooked it more. Err. Alas, the burger was still juicy even if I did bite on an area that wasn't covered in the tangy, slightly sweet Dr. Pepper BBQ Sauce. Surprisingly the combination of cheddar cheese and bacon did NOT contribute to a more salty taste. The onion rings were surprisingly good. Cooked until crispy, but far from dried out. I enjoyed the flavor of the batter, very light on the grease in my opinion. The pickles didn't add anything to the burger in my tastes. At the end, I bit what was textured like a tendon or sorts. Had it been at the first bite, I would talk to the management. But all in all, a good burger. Worth a try. Voodoo Mushroom - Burger - My sister had this and was nearing food gasm. Though her burger was actually cooked medium to slightly pink. I was Jelly but mushrooms are more meh to me. Sweet Potato Fries - Sides - Trying to recall, but I believe these are cut waffled style or nearing to that shape. They are seasoned well, but its either the rosemary or another seasoning that makes it take a u-turn on sweetness after the first bite. I prefer Moxie Burgers version more. In between on OK and Meh. Son of a Peach - Draught beer - Not as smooth as Blue Moon on the first sip, but mellows out on the mid tones and hints of fruit on the finish. [Total Bill w/ Tip & Tax]: My total came to about $28, but skipping out on the beer and picking up the appetizer, it's not a bad deal for a good meaty burger if you are looking at it from a value angle. {Summary}: If In-N-Out is from the West, Shack Shack from the North, then Grub Burger is a good addition to Atlanta representing the South West just on taste alone, not just over all package. I think Grub Burger's offering of a chain to ATL's already competitive burger establishments is welcomed. Not a overpriced fast food joint like Shack Shack, yet not as mid-high end such as flip burger. I think the area could use a good burger spot with out having to venture to Buckhead or midtown. Would recommend visiting and hopefully they are more consistent on cooking temperature. Between 3.5-4 stars.

It's always disappointing when a restaurant's inconsistencies cause its downfall. This is the third time I've visited grub burger, and each experience was vastly different from the others. Visit #1- Perfectly adequate experience- liked a few things (e.g. the crawfish pistolettes and the kitchen sink milkshake) and the staff was polite, but our fries were cold and the music was too loud. Visit #2- for a yelp event- as expected, they put on a fabulous show. All the food was on pointe! The salads were excellent, the burgers were flavorful (if not a little underdone for my taste), and the staff went above and beyond to impress us! Visit #3- terrible, rotten awful experience. First of all, the lady taking our order was abrupt and inattentive to the point of being straight-up rude, while another employee (though the shirt seemed to imply manager) keep talking to her from behind while we were ordering, despite our trying to wait. We got our milkshake pretty quickly, but a minute after it hit the table, we noticed leaks in two sides of the cup. We asked if they'd put it in another cup that didn't have holes, but instead the lady just brought us another cup focus to do it ourselves (not such a big deal, I know.) The crawfish pistolettes (previously my favorite item here) were SO WRONG! They were half the normal size (long skinny, pencil-looking things, rather than the cut filled rolls I am used to, half the normal filling, and two of the six pieces were burned to a crisp. I wanted to send them back, but we'd already complained about so many other things, I was sure they'd spit on our burger if I did. The burger (we got the Lockhart Legend) was just fine, but we ordered regular fries instead of skinny fries and were, once again, disheartened to see that they brought out skinny fries instead. And then, when I asked the lady walking around where the silverware dispensers/holder were, she said they don't have them and said I'd have to ask somebody, then started to walk away. I caught her and said, "oh, well, then can I get a fork and knife?" and returned to my table. A few minutes later, she returned with the silverware, basically threw it on the table and walked away. WHAT IS GOING ON GRUB BURGER?! From the yelp event less than month ago to this afternoon date, you've gone from someplace I'd gladly recommend to a friend to a place I was mortified to have brought my boyfriend to. Find some consistency and strive for better customer courtesy or you'll lose all the ones you have worked so hard to gain.

Clean environment and easy process. Wide menu selection. Came at lunch. Wasn't overcrowded and the music and environment was cool. The food... The fries were "meh" but I went with the Lockhead Legend burger and it was fantastic. Fresh ingredients. Meat was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Even the pickles were crisp and fresh. The Dr Pepper BBQ sauce really set it off too. It's sweet but has a slight kick at the end.

Astoundingly loud atmosphere in a chic surrounding with Excellent food ... Let's discuss I noted a Yelp review that mentioned "plenty of tables on a Saturday afternoon" ... so we decided to try Grub out recently... on a Saturday afternoon. After winding through the congested parking lot of what used-to-be-called "Loehman's Plaza" we finally got to the door at Grub. On the day we visited we had to avoid the elementary school students soliciting for their "coupon book sales" (really Grub?) But once inside, you are greeted by a hostess with menu who explains the "order at the counter" concept ... This former "Lettuce Souprise You" space has been completely gutted and refabbed with a look that is decidedly more fab than it ever was. Exposed ceiling with inventive lighting fixtures. Finished concrete floors and metallic touches everywhere... this does create an exceptionally noisy atmosphere even as the crowd begins to clear out. The muzak they play is loud --- the patrons have to talk louder than the muzak --- and then other patrons have to talk louder... whew. However... The food is very, very good. The quality is evident in every bite. We tried the much-Yelped-about Lockheart Legend Burger and the "Hippie Chickpea Burger" ... both were exceptional. The "skinny fries" are very uninspiring (as mentioned in other reviews) but the onion rings are godsend! Other purveyors of onion rings should take note (I'm looking at "There" gastro-pub in Brookhaven.) Then they have these house-made dipping sauces. Those are "Yum" to the cosmic integer! We tried all four with the "Mississippi Comeback" sauce being the favorite. Give Grub burger bar a try ... maybe later in day or a weeknight might be a better option if you value your sanity and hearing. As mentioned, "Grub" is located in the former (and last) "Lettuce Souprise You" location in the former "Loehman's Plaza" on the west side of North Druid Hills road and Briarcliff road.

Grub burger bar, I went two days in a row! I really enjoy this craft burger and sauce concept. This new Atlanta arrival from College Station, Texas serves amazingly interesting burger concepts as well as salads, apps, and shakes! They want to be a (fast-casual +) category according to the partners in the market. I will say on this point, the waitress from the night before last night saw me and even remembered my name! We walked in for a later dinner, and decided on some crawfish pistolettes and the Napa salad! First of all both of them are totally shareable! They are huge portions and with some side plates and silverware all is good! The salad, I talked a lot about in my other review but is an amazing seasonal offering with figs and strawberries to counter the feta and has a Hazelnut Vinaigrette dressing to tie it all together! It's super yummy! The crawfish pistolettes are packed full of some Cajun crawfish and fried then served with a homemade Mississippi Comeback sauce! 8 of them come on a plate and easily shareable for 3 or 4 people. Lastly, we washed it down with a tipsy worms and dirt milkshake to use a coupon I had for a free milk shake! They even split the difference for me, the coupon was a free shake and they allowed a tipsy one for a small up charge! All in all the staff is friendly and attentive, the food is delish, and we shared a dinner and both left full for 22 bucks! Great deal! The management says they are planning 7 stores in the Atlanta area, I really hope one moves closer to me sometime soon!

This place was just what I needed to avoid rush hour on Briarcliff. aka it was good. Not great, but good. I agree with another reviewer that mentioned the service was a bit intrusive. I wouldn't say it's so much intrusive as it is awkwarrrd. We were offered a menu for milkshakes and sides about 90% of the way through our meal and by a random server we'd never seen before. She just walked up and began explaining options for fries and shakes as we sat there nodding and bemused while humorously nibbling on the fries and shakes already clearly in front of us. Anyways, I had the Lockhart Legend with a Kitchen Sink milkshake. I had to take my bun off entirely because it was too massive and dry with the already overcooked and dry patty. The milkshake was good. Three stars for a fun menu and atmosphere.
