I'm attending a class that begins at 8am every Saturday, so I did some research and found that most coffee shops don't open until 8am. Fortunately that is not the case with Grant Park Coffeehouse. I had one of the best iced chai soy lattes to date, made by Cecil. The staff (owner included) were very nice. I also noticed the plethora of scones. Believe me it was hard to resist, they all looked delicious. Thank you Grant Park Coffeehouse, for having great Saturday hours and a great iced chai.

Although it isn't open late enough and the coffee is so-so, the desserts are amazing and the people who work here are super nice. Plus it's within walking distance of my house. Overall = Not crap. Just please get better coffee!

My betrothed doesn't drink coffee, so before we moved in together, this was a problem on weekend mornings. Luckily Grant Park Coffeehouse is within walking distance from his former abode. I think the coffee is good, and I appreciate that soymilk is offered as a substitute for nauseating cream. Other than the pumpkin bread, the food hasn't impressed me. Perhaps it was my fault for asking that guacamole be added to my egg croissant - I guess those flavors don't meld well. I wish Grant Park Coffeehouse offered healthier, less carb-heavy breakfast options for when I'm rushing to work on an empty stomach. Like fruit cups or yogurt parfaits.

I wish this place was bigger, since it tends to get pretty busy on the weekends. But it's a nice and quaint coffee shop for the Grant Park neighborhood. I love popping in on mornings during the week and getting their good and inexpensive breakfast sandwiches/wraps and a iced vanilla chai latte, which I would recommend if you like it sweet.

Great coffee, sandwiches and in house baked goods. Look for scones, Lemon-Blueberry pound-cake and a Nutella Creme Cheese Brownie.

This is almost a daily stop for me if not at least 3-4x a week. All baked goods are made on site. Not frozen. And the best scones I've ever had in my life. The medium roast is perfect, not acidic, but just right. The ice cream is the absolute BOMB! And now they carry King of Pops. This is the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee and soak in some sunshine on the patio or bring the kids after the zoo for a cone. My regular order: Medium Blended Iced Chai (Big Train Brand) Carrot Zucchini Bread w/ Walnuts

I'm not in love, though I want to be, because neighborhood coffee shops are important to me. I don't know what it is, though, that is just so-so. The small crowded space? Or no discounted refills to go? The homemade bread was delicious: Zucchini carrot was divine And everyone says the ice cream is just fine. Perhaps I'll revisit and give another chance. Like an unrequited lover begging for romance.

This place, located right across from the Grant Park Zoo, has an excellent, "real", homey kind of vibe that makes personal and business meetings ideal if there are under four individuals involved. The wifi is free and so is the cheer, excellent customer service, smiles from the staff and much of the parking near the coffeehouse. This family friendly environment has great food. If you're looking for the fast-paced, more commercial, vibe a Starbucks, this is not for you. If you need more upscale surroundings, you want to find another place. But, if you like the rustic, artsy feel of a neighborhood coffee shop AND you want to eat well for a reasonable price, then you want to visit the Grant Park coffee house OFTEN. I've been taking many of my business partners and clients to this location for a few months and will continue to do so. See you there!

A coffeehouse should have great coffee and everything coffee related. Grant Park Coffeehouse does and should be reviewed based on that plus service and environment. In all aspects, I think they do very well. I like their dark roast (not like water as some say), their food was great on each occasion I ate there, and the staff was very friendly and efficient. I really like the comfortable feel of this place. Nicely painting and dressed with ethic paintings and artwork. I also saw some nice photographs on the wall that were charming. The music is also great here and at times you may want to spontaneously get up and shake your butt. If there is one thing I would have loved to see here it would have been real bacon. I'm a huge fan and even though I respect peoples' choice of having alternatives, it can't really be an alternative if you don't have both...right? Great addition to the neighborhood and I will most definitely come here each time I visit Atlanta.

I would love to return here! I love cute coffee shops and this one is right across the street from a giant park. I had a yummy sandwich and a mocha frosty thing that was perfect for the warm day. The workers are cute and a bit hipsterish and provided great service!

Have only been for breakfast, which is great. They do eggs just right & the baked goods are wonderful. They made a mistake the last time on my order but made it right & then some! Ice cream is wonderful, too. Staff is very friendly & helpful. So glad to see them busy. Hope they will be there for a long time.

I know that you're not supposed to write reviews whilst sitting in the place, but I just can't resist. This cute coffee shop has saved my butt two days in a row (A/C, water, free WiFi!) and I love them for it. Located right across from the zoo they've got amazingly friendly staff and tasty sandwiches and smoothies to match. Make sure to get the tomato avocado wrap. I haven't tried their ice cream (...yet...today), but the flavour combinations sound crazy delicious. [UPDATE: Ice cream is also bomb.com . Raspberry Chip Cheesecake FTW] Do yourself a favour and duck out of the zoo, grab a coffee and a nibble and then continue your animal tour. Grant Park Coffeehouse is that much better than what you'll find on the inside.

I spent an afternoon trying coffee shops in Atlanta and this was the third one of the day. I decided to take a break from espresso. The barista was super helpful in finding an alternative for me to try. Although she was fairly new, she knew a lot about the variety of items on the menu. I tried the banana pudding gelato and was so glad that I did. You receive large scoops. The gelato has whole pieces of vanilla wafers and it tasted almost identical to banana pudding. It's a neighborhood coffee shop across from the zoo. There were several regulars that just walked from their houses and were also pretty friendly. Afterwards my friend and I had a mini-photoshoot since the coffee shop was such a great backdrop!

This is my neighborhood coffee shop, within walking distance from my house and it's charming, delicious and so affordable compared to it's competitors (*cough cough* looking at you, Octane). I love the unpretentious and kind staff of women, the grits in the morning are AMAZING, the sandwiches are generous and tasty, and everyone who lives here knows the carrot zucchini bread is as close as you can get to dessert-bread heaven. Do yourself a favor and come relax by the park here, order an ice cream cone or a sandwich and an ice cold tea, and see how peaceful it is.

I loved their frappuccino. Was just what I needed on a hot sunny day. The sandwich was good too. This place is better than the zoo near it.

Grant Park is a special place. It's a large park in the middle of a bustling city. It is the urban, edgier sibling to Piedmont Park. It even happens to have a zoo located in the middle of its forest. It's great. The coffeehouse across the street? Meh. Not so much. I used to train a goat at the zoo (yep, you read that right) for a semester when I was a student in college. I always noticed the small coffeeshop across the street and wanted to check it out, but it was always gearing up to close by the time I was done working in the pen. So, on a glorious day in February, I decided to march on over and try it out. For one thing, there is very limited parking. I'm talking no dedicated parking for the coffeeshop, so you have to fend for yourself on the side streets or Cherokee for street parking. I found a spot not too far and walked on in. This place is tiny. Super tiny. I think my bedroom might be bigger than this place, and that's saying something. It was also very stuffy (no central AC) and the porch seating was rather...err...dirty? There is very limited seating inside, so if you're thinking about getting some work done, go elsewhere. The staff was nice. Well...to me. There was a child who was confused about not having chocolate ice cream, and one worker was just not having it. I can understand that, but being rude to a clueless 4-year old is probably not advisable. I sat down with my house brew, which was delicious, by the buckets of ice cream. This was the only seat available, and it was a mistake because of how close it was to the booth. I had a few families get a little too close trying to look at the ice cream. Overall, I ended up leaving after 15 minutes. If you want to come here after a long day at the zoo, it might be nice. Otherwise, you'll be better off elsewhere.

I had been meaning to get over to Grant Park in general for a long time now and I finally had lunch in the area. I hadn't done much prior research on GP Coffeehouse, but its a lovley little shop right in the heart of the neighborhood and right across the street from one of the larger parking lots for Grant Park, Zoo Atlanta, Cylorama, etc. Parking can be a bit sparse, but there is plenty of street parking on Cherokee and some of the side streets nearest to the shop. I stepped in shortly after noon and there were a few other folks in for lunch. I decided to follow suit. I didn't try anything on their coffee menu, but I'm sure I'll be back to comment on these soon. Instead, I ordered a buffalo chicken panini and a grapefruit lemonade. The sandwich was awesome and really light -- grilled chicken, light buffalo sauce, lettuce, tomato, and pressed wheat sourdough. It was a really good sandwich for lunch. Not heavy at all and not slathered with butter or anything of the like. My kind of lunch choice. The grapefruit lemonade was pretty perky, but not my favorite. For my next visit, I'll definitely go with an iced coffee or something else from their menu. I sat outside for lunch and loved it. The building is super old and just feels historical. The entire neighborhood of Grant Park has a great, old timey feel to it and it was great to sit across from the park. Felt like I was in a completely different city for a moment. Can't wait to come back. It's a great staple for the neighborhood!

I used to love this place, but the service has gotten much less friendly of late. The food and coffee are still solid, just don't expect a smile or even a bit of 'niceness'. It's a shame because I used to look forward to visiting at least once a week, but now I early go even though it's a block from my house.

Wow yelpers.... Great find. Would have never gone into this place while do a quick tour of Atlanta. The TBT wrap is amazing. Don't know about any of other food, but the turkey wrap is a winner. Minus star for typical lousy service. No smile, no tip, no star!

  • Christina T.

Terrible service. The woman behind the counter seemed annoyed that she had a paying customer. Didn't say anything to greet me- just looked up impatiently expecting me to order. Took my money without saying thank you. Can't even remember what I got but it wasn't anything special. Seeing as others have commented negatively about the service here, what I experienced wasn't just the server having a bad day. Will definitely not be going back to a place where paying customers are not welcome.

What an unexpectedly unpleasant place. We were in town visiting a friend and spent the day at the zoo, I was ready for some coffee and a snack by the time we were done and spotted this place across the street. I greeted the cashier as we walked in and she just immediately asked "what do you want?" without saying anything else. No problem, I figured she's probably having a bad day, it happens. I thought maybe I'd brighten her day after I paid with a decent tip. I ordered two drinks for my husband and I as well as a snack, she had to walk around the counter to see what the snack was and rolled her eyes at me when I pointed it out and said the name again to help her find it. Anyway, I paid and left her a nice tip even though she was obviously in a crap mood and hadn't said more than two words to me, then she starts saying our order off to the other girl behind the counter, except they weren't the right drinks. I interjected, "Excuse me, that was [insert our actual order]." Keep in mind the drinks were not even made yet at this point, so no time or ingredients had been wasted... if looks could kill, I would not be typing this right now. As if it was our fault that she got our order wrong. When I thanked her as she finally handed us our drink, she again gave me a nasty look for no reason at all. I watched her interact with other customers in exactly the same way as we had our drinks, so at least I know it wasn't just me. I would chalk it up to someone having a bad day, but reading the other reviews it's pretty obvious this is a trend. This lady shouldn't be working in any kind customer-facing position IMO. All that said, the coffee is nothing to write home about. I had a blondie which again was nothing great. There are signs saying "organic" this and "fair trade" that everywhere, but this stuff really seemed about the same quality you'd expect from a coffee chain located in a mall, not even as good as a regular coffee from Starbucks. Pricing is in the same range as Starbucks, and it's really not worth it.

Linda and Tiffany will take great care of you. Owner, Rahel, is very nice and customer focused. Chicken salad sandwich is the best. A hidden gem in grant park and a must visit.

Love this quaint joint across from the zoo. Bring the kids for some ice cream! The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. The coffee didn't blow me away, but the service and ambiance make up for that. They have some really nice outdoor seating (although other than that, seating is scarce). The area is basically a "coffee desert" otherwise, so I'm glad this place exists. Worth a try!

This was my first time there and I got the breakfast burrito. I had no idea where it was nor that they didn't sell any pork products until I walked in and looked at the menu. I got the burrito with turkey bacon but it was actually good. The eggs were a little runny but I ate it and I'm not a turkey bacon person at all. At all!!!!! Nice diverse location, I would definitely go back and try one of the smoothies or a sandwich just maybe not breakfast. I would recommend it as something to try.

Love Grant Park Coffeehouse. The vegan pumpkin loaf was delicious, and who doesn't love the independent coffeehouse atmosphere.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the inside since my husband picked up the food. However, the time it took for them to get three sandwiches was pretty average. The spicy roast beef, grilled cheese, and ham sandwich were also average. Nothing too extraordinary, hence, the three stars. I was just thankful that it's across the street from the Atlanta Zoo where they probably serve food for double the price.

Friendly staff & Fresh squeezed juices...yum! Plus their playing good music. Located directly across from Grant park. Convenient to grab a coffee & take a nice stroll through an historic Atlanta site:)

  • Max C.

The food at this place is great but if you come on a friday afternoon, be assured that at least 4 or 5 ruuude breeders will ram into the back of your chair with a stroller without apologizing or noticing you. The sandwich wraps are great and the employees are fine, but this clientele... Go elsewhere if you dislike groups of ill behaved screaming little princesses or bougie 'it's all about me and my kid' stroller parents.

There aren't many places to grab a cup of coffee in the Grant Park neighborhood's southern half, so this place fits the bill. Scones look delicious -- I'd like to try the chicken sausage -- although I didn't buy one myself. Coffee was pretty good -- I just had a hot drip coffee, to which the efficient barista offered to add flavor (I declined). There's not a lot of seating inside or outside, so don't come here prepared to camp out with a laptop or chat with friends -- there's a good chance you'll be able to do neither. Oh, also, your coffee will be served in a Comcast cup. Yes, seriously, the to-go cups are plastered with exciting news about Comcast's new two-hour window for service calls. And, on top of your Comcast cup, you will have a sleeve promoting tourism in Athens, Georgia. With two layers of advertising surrounding my coffee, perhaps I should have been paid to carry the cup around in public?

  • Jacob T.

Are you looking for coffee, not food? Atlanta has many shops that carefully select and prepare their coffee, but this place is not one of them. I had iced coffee that was clearly filter coffee poured onto ice--bitter, chalky, undrinkable. The women working behind the counter were really unpleasant, too, as if I was inconveniencing them. Next time I'll walk a little farther to Octane.

What a great find for a break after my visit to the Cyclorama. The ice cream looked tempting, but the baked goods won me over and I really enjoyed my giant slice of banana bread. They also made me a great Americano. Between the window seats on the inside and the patio outside, there are plenty of places to park it. Friendly staff. Bonus: bathroom available for customers!

Cute little coffee shop right across from the zoo. I live about half a mile away and frequent this place. Awesome breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches. I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't say too much about that, but the sandwiches and baked goods are delicious and the staff is friendly. It's small inside, but when it's nice out there are places to sit out front. I love this little neighborhood coffee shop. Real character and good selection. They also have ice cream!

Great location across from Grant Park and the Atlanta Zoo. Shavone was very helpful!!! My sandwich was amazing! There is not much room to sit but they do have a little patio outside for when the weather is nice!

Got the turkey blt, blueberry-pom smoothie (sounds wayyy way better than it tasted), and a fresh banana. Unfortunately the banana was the best part. As mentioned by a prior reviewer the TLBT wrap is mostly lettuce, and it was just ok (wish I would've read that review before my visit). The place has a nice small feel to it, which fits neatly with the whole neighborhood coffee house ideal, but too bad the staff wasn't so neighborly. The person who took my order spoke really low and was facing the wall as she was talking to me which complicated the whole ordering process, and made me feel irrelevant at best. I was drawn here by the pic of the delicious looking panini sandwich posted by other yelpers, but I didn't see anything like that on the menu. And given the communication/hospitality issues, I just wanted to order and get out as fast as I could as they were struggling with the basics.

Okay Guys...Yes, this series of incidents could easily be "dismissed" as an example of 'the perpetrator has no sense of customer service.' But it was obviously more than that. I'm there with 4 friends. We're outside sitting at a table when the umbrella partially collapses and hits someone in the head! I immediately get up to alert the staff, and a woman staffer, who obviously witnessed the situation from inside, (maybe the owner,) brushes past me to, [what I initially thought was] to address it. When she gets to the table she doesn't express any remorse or concern that someone was hit by the faulty umbrella. Even as we tried to explain that someone was potentially injured, she doesn't care the least bit. She interrupts us to simply tells us to move to the other table, (which we were in the process of doing). She then begins to close the umbrella while we were standing beneath it gathering our things, again almost hitting us with the umbrella. While doing this, she blames it on "people" who keep putting the umbrella out (it's obviously happened several times before), and she seemingly postures herself to place blame on us for sitting there. 10 minutes later, I go in to have my cup of water replaced that was lost in the shuffle. She argues (as if I'm not standing there) with the African American cashier that I approached about the refill. The cashier advocates for me by saying "he already had a cup, he just needs a refill.." In other words, the woman wanted to charge me for another cup. I could see the disgust on the cashier's face, as if to say "lady you're being totally ridiculous." "The whole time, the non-African American woman is looking at me, (but not looking at me) with this look of quiet disdain. I return later to have my water refilled again, and again she gives me this disapproving look... My party had previously ordered coffees, pastries, and iced beverages, so we were definitely paying customers. This apparently wasn't enough to earn us an apology for the umbrella nor a few refills of water... As I said before, this treatment is easily dismissed as the result of some other motivation; poor customer service, overworked small business owner, etc., but it was very clear to me that there was some personal unstated motivation that reeked of "regardless how much money you spend with me, I am predisposed to offer you subhuman respect." All too often we offer a pass to this kind of behavior. We tell ourselves it's their problem not mine. My wife loves (loved) this spot, but today they lost the patronage of 5 customers behind the actions, (and lack of action) of one of their staff. Before I left, I went inside to discard my trash and to acknowledge the young lady who spoke on my behalf. I told her we would never be back again. I'm sure the other lady could care less... Racism and discrimination are often very subtle, and I'm usually not one to complain, but I could not let this one slide. I'll share it with my network and keep it moving...to another coffee shop.

I want to start off by saying I do not mean to bad mouth this establishment. Prior to my last two visits I loved this place and spoke very highly about it to my friends in the area. I attempt to always give them my coffee/bakery business because they are locally owned and conveniently located near my apartment in GP. I went in to the shop about a month ago and got one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. It was basically a BLT with turkey and I added avocado. When I went into the shop Monday, 3/24, I told the woman at the counter exactly what I had the last time and how much I loved it and their establishment. I was under the impression that we were on the same page on how to replicate the sandwich, but after I left and was on my way to work, I opened my sandwich box only to find a BLT with turkey bacon and no avocado. I called them to see where things went wrong and the woman on the phone was not even sincere with her apology and acted as if she didn't remember me being there less than 5 minutes beforehand(there were only two people working there at the time and I know it wasn't the other lady). Although I was pretty disappointed, I ate my sandwich because I was hungry and just let the situation go. I am an optimist and believe that people make mistakes so of course I gave them another try today, because yet again I was craving that amazing sandwich. Again I told her exactly, word for word, what I wanted on my sandwich, explained to her what happened the other day and at the end went over again what I wanted. I get home and there is mustard on the tortilla of my wrap. I am a fairly picky person and I am aware of how obnoxious it is because I am in the service industry as well, but I always compensate for my high maintenance and am very patient because I know my orders take extra time. The problem is I do not eat most condiments and they usually completely ruin my appetite. When we first discussed that sandwich all I heard that would be on it that I knew I wouldn't eat was mayo which I asked her to leave off. If she said mustard I did not hear her, but never the less I reiterated that I only wanted turkey, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and avocado on my wrap, nothing else. I find it incredibly aggravating that two times in a row I have purchased food that I did not want and this time will not even eat. I love helping out local restaurants because I too work for a locally owned establishment, but I am so much less inclined to return here after two times of them messing up my food.

So I pop the lid off my mocha to take a look at the froth. Ohh no...it just looks like warm cocoa. Awe man, it tastes like Sbucks. Great atmosphere, very friendly team. I'll be back if I am at the zoo craving coffee.

This place is conveniently located across the street from the zoo Atlanta. At first I thought the higher than average rating on yelp is a result of its convenient location. However after I took my first bite of the white chocolate cranberry scone, I'm convinced it's because of its great food. The people there is very nice and friendly, too. Take a coffee stop before visiting the zoo.

Here is the breakdown. Cappuccino: 3.5 stars Service: 5 stars Cheese scone: 5 stars We were craving for a coffee shop that was not Starbucks, so we pulled out the Yelp app and did the search, which brought us to Grant Park Coffeehouse. The medium size cappuccino was a large one in my opinion. So portion size here is generous. The drink was good, but the cheese scone! I wasn't even hungry, I ordered one out of the sake of trying out as much as possible food while in Atlanta. The scone was delicious, cheesy and peppery. Regarding to the service, it was very nice. The barista even brought my to go coffee to the table I sat by.

Summary: good food, coffee and service are alright, and location is great! I'm a Grant Park resident, and I really appreciate the coffeehouse because there's so few businesses in the neighborhood. The coffee is okay. I've had coffee hot and iced here, as well as purchased a pound of their beans for my house when I was in a pinch. It's not 'yum!', but it's not 'yuck' either. Does the job. My favorite part is the food. More sandwich choices than I'm used to at a coffee shop, with prices around what you'd expect. Their pastries and breakfast items are also delicious - the "pockets" are basically a croissant with egg, cheese, and sausage (or soysage) inside, and they're as tasty as they sound! Lots of veggie options too, which I appreciate. (Note to the dairy-conscious, though: the veggie burger is advertised as vegan, but it comes with mayo and cheese, and they don't usually warn you about that beforehand.) Service is always friendly, but not as quick or well-organized as you might be used to in some coffee shops (e.g. commuter spots). Seating is really limited, and on weekends and/or when the weather is nice, it can be tough to find a seat. They can accommodate dogs on the patio (it is Grant Park, after all), but I don't think I've ever seen a water bowl or complimentary treats like I've gotten used to at many pet-friendly spots. Still, I'm becoming a regular, and I'm really glad they're here!

Very relaxed and intimate space where you can get work done on your laptop or chill on the patio and enjoy anything from a sandwich with chips to a scoop of Ice cream/sorbet to a pastry. I receive good customer service whenever I visit which is sparingly.

terrible terrible customer service. my sandwich wasn't made correctly. when I returned it and asked for it to be fixed, they were clearly quite irritated and simply changed out the bread, which did not fix the problem. I went back a second time and after the manager argued with me, telling me there was nothing wrong, she begrudgingly made another. it still wasn't right, but honestly I just ate it; it wasn't worth another fight. I will not be going back.

Really love the proximity to the park, it's perfect to grab a coffee and take a walk, or just chill out on their small patio and take in a beautiful day. They have a S'more and Nutella latte...yup, you heard right. GO THERE NOW!

Most coffee houses have snacks. Good coffee houses often have good coffee and good snacks, but generally pigeonhole themselves into sweet treats. Sure some may try to do a lunch menu, but if coffee is the focus, as it should be, the place will generally fall short on sammiches and fare of the like. Grant Park Coffeehouse does things a little differently. Yes, there is a selection of sweets; they even have ice cream! But what sets GPC apart from its competitors is that it has salty snacks that are done to perfection. I will highlight one in particular: the savory scones. Veg? Non-veg? They've got both covered. After much deliberation and a thorough discussion with the helpful and friendly barista, I opted for the chicken sausage and cheddar. What a combination! The denseness of the scone didn't distract from the flavor, which was primarily cheesy with bursts of salty meatiness. The sausage added texture balance creating a dimension that one can only find in food of stellar caliber. So robust without being heavy or gross. I opted for iced coffee, which made a nice side to my scone (though I had stopped by GPC for coffee, the scone certainly ended up dominating my attention!) This is a cute and quaint coffee house, with enough unique elements to secure a strong following I'm sure, although due to its proximity to the zoo, it may have more of a transient clientele of tourists and visitors to the neighborhood.

It was a great place to stop, have a cup of coffee and do some work. It's not great for meetings but the little outdoor patio is nice to sit and have a drink quietly. The view of Grant Park is really nice. I can definitely see myself returning. I only had the coffee so I'll have to return to try the food.

This place was adorable. I just loved it. We ordered these iced mochas, which were delish, and got some wraps and sandwiches, too. They took their time making them, but they were really yummy. The way the place was decorated made me want to stay and journal and people watch for hours! Even the bathroom was cute. Great service, too.

If anybody is in the Grant Park area, I definitely encourage you to stop in & try Grant Park Coffeehouse. First of all, they have the best sandwiches! The Chicken Salad sandwich is my favorite. I'm not a coffee drinker so I have never had the coffee from here but b/tw the sandwiches, Ice cream, and pastries...this place is a win. To top everything off, the owner is really nice! She always is soft spoken but has a great attitude. The younger lady(i think it's her daughter but not sure) also has a great attitude and is always very helpful. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you all...the cookies are big as hell! lol

One of my favorite places for in and out coffee. Although the location is small, the coffee and food are amazing. Baked goods are made fresh in house and they roast their own coffee beans. I would like to see all the ice cream use natural flavorings and colorings vs artificial ones, but that is my only complaint. Make sure you pick up a loyalty card because you will definitely be back!

Its reviews like this that makes me wanna review a place without having to give it stars... b/c I really wanted to add another "5 stars" to their high reviews. But unfortunately I can't... I'll do the summary first: SUMMARY: Nice spot, great local neighborhood place that has a large variety of foods. Great service, great prices. Seems to be a good bit of healthy options (and natural type options). All (or most) things are made fresh onsite-- gotta love that! I think your food ratings will depend on what you get and how hungry you are when you go. If you go there and get a lunch-- sandwich, chips, drink, and dessert you'll probably love it. If you start mixing and matching too much like me... you may be a little disaapointed. D E T A I L S. . . . . LOCATION: I will it admit, It was a little journey getting there... had to hop on 85, get off on MLK/Turnerfield, etc etc ended up on Memorial Drive, passed by Tin Lizzys, Ria's Bluebird, The Jane, etc... then ended up in the cutest little neighborhood. Passed Grant Park, then literally across the street from the main entrance/parking for The Zoo lies Grant Park Coffeehouse. I thought it would be an overcrowded super small place, with hard to find parking, but it wasn't. It's right at the corner and there's a lot of parking on the street (and about 4 spaces in a little "lot" of some sort on the side.) DECOR: Simple, classic coffeehouse. Matches the style of the neighborhood. Cute old-school mini mural outside on the brick. A few tables, I think just two outdoor tables to eat, about 2 or 3 inside tables, and a small "lunch counter" type area w/ 3-4 stools. SERVICE: Great! The ladies were so nice and sweet. Please keep it up, it's great to see smiling faces and great attitudes when trying a new establishment. FOOD: (I got a few things) -- Grant Breakfast Pocket: this was just okay... definitely like hot pocket, but bigger. I may have liked it more if the bread was a bit more soft, like a soft golden flaky type crust. ($3.50 or so, I think...) -- Smoothie: they have all kinds of flavors and you can make your own. Unfortunately they had no Strawberry that day, so I got Raspberry mixed with banana, and it was too sweet. I should have added blueberries or something to make it more bitter, evening out the taste. Their smoothies are made from some type of puree (what I was told), so the texture (once mixed with water and ice) is more of a liquid slushy type texture opposed to a thick smoothie (made from fruit). It taste like a slushy too, a fruity slushy. (around $3/$4) -- Chocolate Chip Cookie: not my favorite. I like softer cookies, this is the hard thick large kind... not the subway kind that can be heated up and made soft. ($1.50 I think) -- Turkey Wrap: the highlight and redeeming savior for me. I've had so many bad wraps over the past year, the last bad one I had was from Chickfila-- yuck. Hard and dry and bad. This was soooo delicious and fresh, and all around amazing. I was gonna tell them to make it into a sandwich instead since I've been having so much bad luck with wraps, so glad I didn't... this was mm mm good. ($6) -- Strawberry Shortcake Ice cream: it looked amazing. But was just okay. I'm a fanatic for Ben and Jerry's strawberry cheesecake ice-cream, so that's what I thought of when I first saw it. But the taste are worlds apart. OTHER: I got the LoafDeals for Grant Park CoffeHouse, and there was supposedly also a Groupon Deal too. The Groupon Deal notes that there are limitations/stipulations, but Loafdeals does not. So when I presented my coupon she told me that you get $5 off each visit for 4 visits (opposed to $20 at once). I guess that's there way of trying to bring you in there more than once, but honestly it's pretty silly and makes no real sense. If that's a rule they want they should be 100% certain to have that in the description of there coupon deal before buying it, otherwise it's like a "bait and switch". I would also advise them to include their entire menu on the website, maybe updating it quarterly or even just once a year. The website gives very general view of what they have, but their menu is actually quite huge-- all kinds of drinks, desserts, sandwiches, etc. Upon entering I only looked at the menu on the wall behind the main counter/cashier. But low and behold there was an even bigger menu on the wall behind me.

I was in town for work and needed a place to stop and get some work done. I grabbed a slice of carrot cake and a red eye. The cake was delicious and the coffee was excellent. The place is quaint with just a touch of hippy influence. They have out door seating right across the street from the zoo. Awesome place to recharge.

The breakfast is awesome, I use to work at Zoo Atlanta. This was my everyday place to eat. The owner is so friendly and lovely. Very laid back atmosphere she treats all her customer with the up most respect

Great location across from zoo. Great smoothies too. We had grilled cheese Which was really good and tuna salad on sour dough-even better! The star of the visit was the Nutella cream cheese brownie which was fantastic! Very friendly and helpful employees as well. Loved the outside seating too! Wished I lived here because I would go here several times a week!

Great location outside Zoo Atlanta's main entrance. Not very large; if you have a group, expect to eat outside. Large selection of ice cream, coffee drinks. Wasn't great, but a good stop considering not many options in this area. TBLT sandwich was mostly lettuce. Overall thought: Meh.

This little place is a gem in the city! Why? For several reasons: 1. Pet Friendly 2. Great coffee 3. Ambience 4. Nice people I like the grits and the option of chicken sausage. For me the portions are a little small, but I have a big appetite as a general rule. (Reason for only 4 stars) If you're a tourist headed to the Cyclorama, this is a good pit stop just before or after your lap around the park. Bon appetite!

On a gorgeous fall day, the enticement of a $1 scoop of ice cream special via their facebook page led me on a lovely walk to this Grant Park establishment. Right across the street from the zoo, they have a tiny space that is filled with friendliness and delicious sounding eats. The caramel macchiatto ice cream was almost as good as the frozen treats from Morelli's, and for only a dollar on this particular night, much kinder on the wallet. I'm glad I didn't discover their tasty desserts earlier this summer, because what's kind on the wallet would not have been kind on the waistline. The only downside I see is their relatively cramped space. I would love to bring my books and laptop here to study, but the limited, tiny tables don't seem to lend themselves to this function.

Cutest and BEST coffee house/cafe in GP!! Five stars allllll the way and here is why: - Convenient location (just across the street from the Atlanta Zoo)) - Outdoor/in-door seating available - Unlimited on-street parking - Great prices - Fast service - Wheat/Sourdough bread made SO fresh and fluffy daily - Sandwiches are insanely TASTY and BIG (lunch/breakfast choice available) - Café drink selection - make them hot or cold - Aside from scones/bagels/croissants/sandwiches, you can also buy hard ice cream by the scoop here - please try the BLUEBERRY GRANOLA - its unbelievable! You'd be a fool not to try this place, especially if you are ever in the surrounding Grant Park area!

Best Turkey Bacon Breakfast and Lunch options!!! Everyone here is so sweet and atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. The breakfast burrito with all the veggies, cheese and turkey bacon is addictive!!! Just tried the turkey bacon BLT and it is my new favorite :-) There's a lot of love and care that goes into everything the make and you can taste it! Try the chai tea latte too...it's perfect!

I stumbled upon this place while house hunting in Grant Park. I think I was overwhelmed with the total charm of the place. The painted brick lends this amazing nostalgic feeling to the building. I won't lie this place is small, but rather than feeling cramped, it's cozy. The staff are inviting and warm. You can really tell in the food and in the atmosphere that they love what they do. My only real complaint with corporate coffeehouses is that the pastries and sandwiches are usually boxed and taste like it. Grant Park Coffeehouse has the most amazing pastries and sandwiches. Just a small sampling of what I've had over my many visits: Caramel Apple Spice Latte: Perfectly evokes the taste of eating a caramel apple. So amazing. Ethiopian coffee: Perfectly brewed, just the right balance of flavors and acidity. As a two sugars and three creams in my coffee gal, the fact that I could happily drink this cup of joe without any adulterations was amazing. Tomato Avocado Wrap: Creamy, lemony packed solid with amazing fresh flavor. I would walk there every day for one of these if I could afford it. Grant Park Pocket: I've only had this for breakfast but if you're like me and loved Hot Pockets as a kid then you will totally get what I'm about to say. Those pockets are like sulky teenagers compared to the refine glamourous adults the Grant Park Pockets are. Creamy eggs, delicious melted cheese with chunks of spicy sausage. Mmmm... Go for the King of Pop's, go for Ice Cream, go for breakfast, go for lunch, go for coffee and dessert, go for any reason at all.

Ice cream, coffee and delicious baked good - right in the GP hood - it can't be beat! If you're heading to Zoo Atlanta - be sure to pop in with the kids for a cone! If you're out walking the pup - drop in for a bite and chill outside. Always a great vibe and the folks who run/work there are wonderful!

Love this place! I used to work next door, and I would specifically skip lunch that day just so I could grab a sandwich or bakery item (or both!) from them. Staff is always friendly and accomodating..and OMG - we bought two pints of the Pumpkin Pie ice cream for Thanksgiving dinner last year! Best food and coffee around!

When you have the word coffeehouse in your store name, there is an expectation to have decent coffee. While they boast a wide array of menu options from lattes to cappuccinos, I have only tried their coffee and both times it has tasted like water. Not necessarily bad make me puke taste, but just leaves me wanting. Two years ago when it first (re)opened I was excited that GP was finally getting a coffee shop. Sadly, after waiting two years and giving this place a second try my conclusion is the same: it's still just the ice cream shop. In 5 years I've seen the ice cream shop close to become the Bistro (ice cream + sandwiches), only to close and become the coffee shop (ice cream + sandwiches + lattes). I'm glad they've expanded their menu options, but let's leave this place for the zoo tourists who have no other option. I haven't had anything here that makes me want to leave my kitchen. Plus, it has good outdoor seating but no outdoor trashcan

I've been saying for years that Grant Park needed a coffeehouse. When the Grant Park Coffeehouse opened last year, my prayers were answered! Great coffee, and the absolute best scones and pound cake I have ever tasted! I adore the staff, they are very friendly and welcoming. The prices are reasonable, I don't mind paying a little extra to help out a local business. My only critiques of the Coffeehouse are: They need to do something about their AC (It's summertime in GA, we need and love some AC!) it's always hot inside. I'm not very fond of the music selection and the volume tends to be way too high. Lastly, I really wish the place was a little bit bigger. If you are in the neighborhood you should stop by!

Cute little coffee shop w/ a local organic kind of vibe (Starbucks it isn't). Very small so comfy & laidback if it's fairly empty, which it was when I was there. Loved the giant size of the iced coffee I got. Try the carrot zucchini "bread" (c'mon, let's call it what it is- cake), which is delicious. Right across the street from Zoo Atlanta so a nice respite from the screaming kids.

Food is simple, great and always fresh. when new items are introduced, they are, without fail-well received. The young lady that owns the establishment is warm& inviting..in my head, she's my best friend. And yes..the coffee, no matter the variety, is what all cups of coffee should taste like.

Finally...a great neighborhood coffee shop in the Grant Park area. Cute little space directly across the street from the zoo serving coffee, espresso, tea, fresh baked goods by the owner, sandwiches, and ice cream. There are a couple of tables inside as well as outside. With free wi-fi, great for you work-at-home types in the Grant Park area that need to escape the confines of your home office and don't want to hike over to Inman/Candler/Glenwood Park. My beverage of choice- triple (or quad depending on the amount of crack I need) skim caramel macchiato- rivals that of a corporate behemoth. Had both the vanilla chocolate chip pound cake and the blueberry scone. The pound cake was decent. The blueberry scone was excellent- tart from all the blueberries and not too sweet.

Okay, so I go to Zoo Atlanta on a Saturday. I parked in front of the coffeehouse and entered with my family to purchase coffee and some breakfast items. We then go to the Zoo. After leaving the zoo, my car is gone. The coffee shop employees, including the manager/owner, proceed to tell me that they think it was towed, they aren't sure, maybe they saw a tow truck, etc. One person was identified as the manager/owner to me that claimed ignorance of what happened. I call the Atlanta Police and am told it wasn't towed by them and probably was stolen. I sit out there for an hour waiting on the police department and my family goes back into the coffee shop for snacks and drinks. Then, the only honest employee apparently there tells me that they called to tow the vehicle because it was in a truck loading zone. the employee tells me that the owner/manager called it in. I had thought that weekends were okay to park in a loading zone but found out from the Atlanta Police that only on Sunday can you park in a trucking loading zone. So, certainly my fault for parking there and I understand that it was towed but couldn't the coffee shop have asked me not to park there when we went in for breakfast or at least told me when we returned, while we were purchasing more items? I'm glad one employee was honest and upfront at least so that I didn't wait for the Atlanta Police and then file a false report. The coffee shop uses a private towing service so the Atlanta Police had no record of it being towed. The towing service even told me that the manager/owner called in the request. Sigh. I loved the coffee shop and we always stopped in twice every time we visited the Zoo but I guess that's over with now. I would have still patronized them if they had been honest up front but just lying to me really irritates me.

Gotta love local owned businesses that go the extra mile. This place has it all. Great coffee, homemade baked goods ( no fake stuff or boxes), and extra friendly service. What's not to love? Oh yeah, reasonable prices :) That just about sums it up. Faves: savory scones (cheddar/chive/sausage) and gooey chocolate chip cookies.

This is my one, true, coffee shop. The service here has always been excellent and, if you can get a table, it's a great place to sit and study for a while with a tasty cup o' joe and sandwiches/scones/ice cream. My husband and I love to walk across the park to come here for a dinner of tasty sandwiches and dessert, and it's fun to be here in the afternoon to watch the kids diving face first into their ice cream cones. The staff remembers the regulars and is so accommodating (I sit here drinking a free replacement iced coffee after mistakenly ordering and sipping on an iced tea). Their coffee is all fair trade and organic, the baked goods are homemade, and it has blossomed into a hub of the community over the few years it's been here. It's a stop you can feel good about on so many levels!

Grant Park Coffeehouse Across from Zoo Atlanta, a small well-worn coffeehouse. Stopped in on chance and really really liked the place. Breakfast, cappuccino, and baked goods were great, but the real surprise was the gourmet popsicles, and ice creams. Unusual flavors in both and fantastic treats. i wish I had such a place in my neighborhood!

This is a great little local coffee shop that serves sandwiches and ice cream. I stopped in after walking with a friend for some sorbet, and it was refreshing and delicious! I will definitely be back. It's also reasonably priced for a local shop.

A very well kept Grant Park secret. I went there for coffee only to find out that they have milk shakes - banana pudding milk shakes! It was the best milk shake (without a doubt) that I have ever had. Well worth the trip, grab a drink and walk around Grant Park or take a trip to the zoo - it's all just across the street.

Came here about a week ago on recommendation from my girlfriend who comes here often. Try the Papua new Guinea coffee. Simply awesome. The blueberry scone was outstanding, also. It wasn't quite baked all the way so it was slightly gooey on the inside. Heaven. I'm a white guy and it was funny when I went in and they were playing Bob Marley, so I commented on it and the lady seemed surprised I knew who Marley was. lol. great place for coffee.

Their coffee is tasty and prepared with a smile, and they feature delicious ice cream in a variety of unusual flavors. Yum! Only downside: the interior is kind of cramped, so if you want to come hang out here and get work done, good luck snagging one of the two or three tables. In pretty weather, though, I love chilling on their patio and looking out at Grant Park.

Best ice cream I've had! After visiting Atlanta zoo we stopped in for a snack and I still haven't forgotten how delicious my scoop of "Eskimo kisses (?)" was! Worth the stop if you like unusual ice cream flavors.

Sometimes you don't know what you have until you go someplace else and are disappointed. Newly "relocated" to the neighborhood and here is the GEM right around the corner. So far I seem stuck on the sandwiches at lunch time, which are made fresh and fast and sizeable for my hearty appetite. The few pastry items I have tried have been great and is my understanding they bake them right there! I want desperately to give it five stars, but I can see during the winter months this place my become a bit to cramped to truly be a hang out spot. But really this is a 4.5. Excellent service, excellent selection, beverages are expertly made. Wonderful place.

Love this place! Everyone is always very nice, and they have a nice selection of non-coffee items. Indulge and order the ice cream.... Mmm. The only downside is that indoor seating is limited, so you might not be able to hang out and work on your laptop.

Great little neighborhood coffee place, in every way. Excellent coffee, decent simple breakfast offerings (and they open early), good sandwiches (chicken salad especially recommended), great taste in music but it's never oppressively loud, and FANTASTIC bakery offerings. I'm hoping they expand into the space next door, now that Healthy Hound has moved up the street. I wish GPC was bigger. Other than that, it's perfect.

I tried so hard to like this place! Walking distance from my house, my daughter loves the little red chairs..but that's unfortunately where it ends. The baked goods are pretty good, but after a few visits you get tired of it. Their drinks are expensive and very below average. I made the mistake of buying a small soda once - the cup was 90% filled with ice and two sips of Coke Zero (for $1.50), when I went up for a refill a minute later since there was almost no Coke in my cup - I got charged 54c for the refill. Really? First time I have ever paid for a soda refill in this country. Won't be back any time soon.
