The Town Brookhaven location keeps getting better. The first few times we went here we were not super impressed with their service, however, over time they have continued to improve. We find ourselves here often for brunch or lunch. Love all the Gluten Free options... the grits (in my opinion) are some of the best.

Some suburban Flying Biscuit locations just can't get it right...but this one can!! The grits were creamy and dreamy as they should be. Service is friendly and prompt. The food quality overall is very comparible to the urban city locations. They really do the chain proud here and it's our new go-to suburban location, even though Norcross is closer (the drive is worth it and Norcross can't get it right with the grits lately and other visits have been below par). I've been obsessing with the grits, sausage, one peach oatmeal pancake, biscuit and eggs combo (forgive me for forgetting the name) because it features all my favorites this place has to offer.

This particular location is in Brookhaven so I'll start of by saying it can get a little crowded especially during brunch time. I would suggest getting here early. I ordered the egg-stravaganza which basically means I had a little bit of everything from salty to sweet for breakfast. It came with sunny side up eggs, whole wheat French toast, sausage patty, and grits. Normally I'm not a fan of grits at all, but this place redeemed them for them. I never thought it would be possible, but there you go- "flying biscuit" knows how to make grits. The French toast came with jam and sweet tasting creamy sauce which tasted amazing. The menu has quite a selection whether you want to be on the healthier side offering vegetarian and vegan options to the not so healthy side. The staff was super friendly. The next time I go, I'll explore more options and probably get something on the sweeter side.

In love with the grits. Fast, and friendly service. This place is in a shopping plaza, so parking can get pretty hectic when it's the busy time of the year. If you live in the Brookhaven apartments, it's a great walking distance for a quick breakfast. I ordered a french toast meal, the french toast was "ok" but the sauces they brought with it were phenomenal! Overall, if you're in the city and you're looking for breakfast...this place is a great place to go! Especially if you're like me and like escaping from the typical "iHOP" phase.

Flying Biscuit is a wonderful place to go for breakfast. The staff is quick, friendly, and helpful. We have ordered several items from the breakfast menu, and all have been delicious. My favorite is the Egg-ceptional Eggs (two eggs over medium on black bean cakes topped with oven-roasted tomatillo salsa, feta cheese, and sour cream.) My husband loves the Pasta, Sausage, and Eggs (three eggs scrambled with chicken sausage, penne pasta, spinach, mushrooms and cheddar cheese.) The ubiquitous biscuit lives up to the hype. It is fluffy perfection served with a side of Cranberry Apple Butter. It can get a little bit hectic and the lunch items are decidedly so-so, but you should definitely hit this place up for breakfast.

Brunch all day. Yay! Lol. This particular location does not serve alcohol, not even mimosas. Just saying... The table was a tad not on the clean side since there were food crumbs still on the table top. :/ Anyway... I ordered the turkey hash. I subbed the eggs for the chicken sausage (free of charge). It was delish and def filing with the potato pieces. It was a tad on the salty side, but then again I had turkey and chicken sausage. Our food of course comes with a fluffy biscuit. My friend said the grits here were pretty delectable, and the sample I had def makes it appear to be so. Service was pretty friendly. Maybe they could have come around for water refills? Not a big deal though... Parking wasn't fun because of the other businesses in the area. My friend and I ended up parking in front of Marshalls (more off down at the lower lot) since that was our next stop anyway. There was always Costco's parking lot with plenty of spots.

I believe this place opens at 6 or 7am. Really convenient because most of the other restaurants in this circle open at 11am. Anyway, the food here is amazing. If you've never been here, you really need to try their fluffy, sweet biscuits (obviously). Their grits are also one of my favorites with a bit of salt and pepper (a lot of pepper for me). The jam that comes with your biscuits is also very flavorful and yummy. I have tried their Spinach omelette, Biscuits and gravy, and so many more. You won't be disappointed with any of the menu items. If your entree doesn't come with a biscuit, you might be lucky, and get a free biscuit if you're waiter/waitress is feeling extra friendly that day. The omelettes go really well with a side of ketchup and Tabasco together. Who doesn't like Tobasco? :) The workers here are all so friendly, which is why I love this location even more. Breakfast food is always good no matter what time of day it is.

My husband and I have just moved to Atlanta from Texas. We were told this place is not to be missed and they were right! My husband ordered the breakfast pasta dish and loved it. I ordered the French toast/eggs/bacon/sausage breakfast and adored it! Of course the biscuits are amazing...but the grits! They're savory and creamy and flavorful. I wish I'd taken some to go! We will definitely be back. If you go on a Saturday morning, expect to wait about 20-30 mins...it's worth it.

Yikes! Beware! Not following the Flying Biscuit biscuit recipe! While I've had a consistent "Flying Biscuit" food experience at this location in the past (it's been a few months since I've been there), I was so disappointed to get my biscuit on Sunday. They weren't making the normal biscuits ... instead a more 'run of the mill' southern biscuit. Not awful, but definitely not the official sweet Flying Biscuit.

I used to be such a fan of Flying Biscuit (specifically the Sandy Springs location) - especially their breakfast selection. I hadn't been in so long and I'd never been to the 'Town Brookhaven' location, so we decided to have brunch here the other day. It's pretty much the same as the other locations, same decor and the same menu. The food...was okay. Maybe it's because I've experienced some of the other amazing breakfast/brunch places Atlanta has to offer, but I wasn't really impressed or satisfied. The biscuits were the best part of our meal, but at the other locations (at least in my past experience) they usually offer jam or honey to compliment them, here, nothing; more on the service later. All together, this is what I tried: --'Not Your Mama's Pimento Cheese' app: It sounded delicious, pimento cheese with feta cheese, and diced tomatoes and onions, but it tasted nothing like pimento cheese, it tasted more like chicken salad, bland chicken salad. --Organic Oatmeal Pancakes (with peaches) - The peaches are definitely canned. But the pancakes were solid. Nice and fluffy, and they did taste good with the peaches. --Flat Iron Steak - I really like steak in general, so it's pretty hard to mess up for me. It was cooked medium rare, like we requested, and flavorful. --Turkey Meatloaf & Pudge - The meatloaf itself was bland, the pudge (cheddar cheese & tomatoes) was disgusting; after the first few bites I couldn't stomach anymore. The green beans were solid, and the mashed potatoes were okay, a little dry - I wish they came with gravy. The service was horrible, very, very slow. After we were seated, it was almost 15 minutes until our server came to get our drink orders. He forgot the BF's sweet tea twice. We saw him standing around, staring off into space when we needed refills and new utensils. It took him almost 5 minutes to get us syrup for our pancakes, which he forgot to bring. It took him twice as long to bring the check. If I ever get a hankering for Flying Biscuit again, I'll definitely be going to a different location.

This is the Town Brookhaven location. We had a short wait (on Sunday mornings, there is a wait, minimal around 9:30, but gets a bit longer thereafter). We had no problems, took a bit for wife to get her latte, but they did bring it. My southern scramble was great. It's collards, onions, and turkey bacon all mixed in with scrambled eggs. May sound gross, but tastes great. And the de riguer biscuit and grits. Biscuit was good, actually a bit less dense than I remember. Wife had some eggs and pancake breakfast. Our server was a guy and he did his job well. We'd come back, and there's nothing better than some FB followed by a nice stroll through Costco.

Food is excellent but DONT order your coffee there. They use cappuccino machine to make it. Tastes like office latte. Poor quality, and I love my coffee.

My friend took me here because of my love affair with grits and breakfast. If I was basing this review only on the grits then it would probably be much different. The grits are good - if they were a bit thicker consistency then I'd say they were the best I'd ever had. The flavor was great. I ordered the breakfast bowl because it came with a whole bowl of grits, fried green tomatoes, poached eggs, turkey bacon, and red salsa. Sounded like a great combination - but it wasn't. There was no textural variety - everything was soggy and chewy. I felt like it was brunch at the nursing home. The thing that turned me off the most was that the bacon wasn't even cooked. It wasn't crisp at all - just limp and chewy. Not appetizing. And there was a hair in my food. The biscuit was humongous and very good. The apple butter was great, too. The service was mediocre - not horrible but not great. I'd go back - but to get an order of grits to go.

Worst service I've ever experienced. This place is always so packed so I guess they don't need good costumer service to keep people coming. I think the food is just average so I won't be back to this location.

I usually go to the location off of Roswell Road but decided to go here since it is on the way home from work. Ordered the usual, shrimp and grits, and was very disappointed. It definately didn't taste right; it wasn't as creamy and tasted watered down and bland. I ALWAYS get the shrimp and grits from The Flying Biscuit, so I know what it's supposed to taste like. This time, I definately didn't get what I paid for and won't be returning to this location again.

Came to Flying Biscuit this morning to kill time and grab a bite to eat before my appointment located in the same plaza. I sat at the bar and waited a while before Shane finally came over to give me a menu and take my drink order. I placed my order for just a Biscuit, Turkey Bacon, and Fruit with no melons. When ordering the fruit, Shane looked puzzled as though it couldn't be done. Then he offered me strawberries and blueberries (which I am terribly allergic to). I declined, and he said it shouldn't be a problem. Shane seems sweet and all, but he's one of those people that move around real fast and a lot without really accomplishing anything. I mean, the restaurant wasn't even busy, but he's moving fast enough to make you think it is. Once I got my food (which came out pretty quickly), it looked okay. The only and main problem I had was with the 9 pieces of fruit they gave me as a side (as pictured). Shane asked me if everything was okay, and I hinted at the fruit. He was nice enough to bring another bowl out to fix the problem. Overall, I don't really get the hype about the place. It was literally just okay!

For some reason, I wasn't impressed with the food. I used to be a big fan of this place but then I think they changed their biscuit and that was the best part. I always go to this restaurant when I'm back in atlanta, but I probably won't be back next time. The service was great; the food just wasn't as tasty as I thought it was.

Third time's a charm: So this is my third review (yes I gave them 3 chances), and I am now a fan of this flying biscuit. I come here several days a week and they not only greet me by name, but they know exactly what I want and have it ready quickly. The generously sized menu offers more than enough options and the food is sufficient for your breakfast fix. Give it a chance and draw your own conclusions, but as far as i'm concerned this place has my vote.

Nothing like flying biscuit. It's not perfect in every way but there are some things here I simply drool over. The Side of Love for instance. Three black bean cakes smothered in sour cream, topped with green tomatillo salsa, feta cheese and raw purple onion. Just delicious love in my mouth. You don't even know. The steak n eggs is good but the steak is very tiny. But I really like the biscuits eggs n gravy. I'd prefer it without the eggs but I didn't realize they come on top. It's really tasty though. The biscuits are really brilliant. Not the best in the world but thick and dense and just hard enough crust, just soft enough middle. Mmmm Now the fried green tomatoes are tasty but I prefer them without the nut chutney on top. But the goat cheese makes it alllllll better. Eggs aren't the best, they remind me of whipped eggs or the kind that you would get if you were to try powdered eggs. Don't let any negative comment keep you from any of the FB establishments. The staff is lovely and care a lot about their guests and take pride in the food they serve.

I just revisited this location with my co-workers today for lunch. I was hesitant about bringing them because of the poor experience I had last time. I have to say, they really did a turn-around since I last came here. Our server was named TJ and he was good. Our drinks were constantly refilled and he had a fun personality. The food was fresh and our orders came out in decent time. Our biscuits even had a sugar coating on top, which I've never had before. When you go, ask for TJ. He did a great job.

I was visiting a friend in Atlanta, we came here for brunch before I left for Detroit. Their brunch menu is very reasonably priced, I wasn't that hungry so I got one short stack of pancakes, just one pancake, which was actually very huge, and biscuits on the side. Food was very good. The service was a little slow, I would've liked my water glass to be refilled a few more times, but the server was friendly. We were in a rush when we left, so we brought our bill up to the counter because the server had not come by to get our money yet. I would come back here if in the area, my friend said they had a few locations but this was the closest one to her house I believe. The short stack of pancakes came with a peach glaze thing which was also very good, along with some peaches on top too.

Great local(ish) breakfast joint in Brookhaven! There was a hefty wait for my party of 10 on Sunday morning but we were able to grab coffees at the bar and chill outside until our table was ready. They interior was bright/clean and decorated with cute biscuit art...they're really into biscuits here. The menu has all the eggs/biscuit/gravy combos you can imagine, there was even one with pasta! The side of grits were perfectly buttery and creamy, I was quite impressed. Bonus items include: good coffee, outdoor seating, separate checks.

This establishment doesn't know how to make eggs benedict, and that is so disappointing. (Especially since it'll cost you over 9 dollah for a platter!) The pimento cheese topping was wholly unnecessary and gross. This location doesn't have the special menu items that the one in Candler Park has. However, the consistency of the items themselves seems to be pretty stable from one franchise location to another, at least from the grits... which were just as creamy (almost to the point of being inedible) as the other FB in Candler Park. Pluses: only a 20 min wait (very short for a FB restaurant), and a friendly hostess/waitress. But I won't go back.

This is the best of the Flying Biscuit locations. Food is consistently delicious. Oddly enough, the biscuits at the 10th street location have been terrible the few times I've been there and the other food items are average at best. Brookhaven is top notch every time. The gem of this restaurant is Maritza. She is quite possibly the best server I have ever had! She always has a smile on her face, she's on top of everything, she's fast and efficient, and even though we go in once every few weeks she remembers our order every time. Many thumbs up for Maritza and the Brookhaven Flying Biscuit!

My friend and I enjoyed a nice brunch here this morning. I have been to the midtown and Candler Park locations in the past. This was my first experience at the Town Center spot. It is a little smaller than the other locations. I was happy that there was no wait (which is usually expected at the other locations). I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was delicious. It came with a roasted red pepper sauce. There was also a flying biscuit with apple butter to accompany the dish. My friend ordered some sort of salad with fried green tomatoes and she enjoyed it. Overall service was good. I would come here again.

No one talked to us the first five minutes we waited by the hostess stand. They were moderately busy but nothing that should come as a surprise at noon on Sunday. Another couple came in a few minutes after our names were placed on the list and the hostess offered them the option of sitting at the bar as we waited right beside them without even acknowledging that we were there first. Let's hope the food is better then the service. But at this point who would want to come back or recommend when they have already showed you there standard.

This is the second time that I went here and i will say that there was a huge difference between first visit and second visit. I sat at the counter and ordered the Egg-stravangza and it was awesome. The grits here and delicious, creamy and thick. I love the chicken sausage that you get. The healthy bacon is a little bit of a stretch but still edible. I think that the biscuits are very good too, but not the best I have ever had. This is a great stop for a good breakfast stop without having to drive very far and the pricing is perfect for the quality of food. All in all I will be back in the future!

I guess it's important to note that, sometimes, there are discrepancies between the food from the original Flying Biscuit in Candler Park and the other Flying Biscuits around Atlanta. We ordered a High Flyer breakfast and an Eggs-ceptional Eggs one Saturday morning at this location (Town Brookhaven). I love their Love Cakes (black bean patties w/ sour cream and salsa) and I also love my eggs over-medium, which is why I ordered the eggs-ceptional eggs. However, I was a little disappointed when my eggs did not come out over-medium with a runny yolk.....but it came out fried to the point that the yolks were solid little discs that I could peel out of the egg whites. I can only recall maybe 2 instances in my whole life in which I sent food back to the kitchen, and this was my third time doing so. I just couldn't overlook the fact that my eggs were overcooked, since I see the runny yolk as the hero of the dish. =/ The server was nice about the whole situation and brought out a second platter. She also mentioned that they were really sorry about the mistake and took the item off our tab. Unfortunately, the second platter was not any better. The eggs were still overcooked. However, my husband's over-medium eggs came out perfectly, so I don't know what was going on that day. At least I know someone in that kitchen knows how to cook over-medium eggs. haha. Overall though, everything else was up to par. Grits, oatmeal pancakes, and their biscuits were consistent with the Candler Park location. Also, the customer service was good so I couldn't really stay upset with them too long.

I agree with most of the other reviewers, the service at this place SUCKS! It took years to get our bill and even longer to get our credit card back. The food took longer than usual and our waitress went missing after she dropped off our meal. The good news is the food tastes the same as the Buckhead Terminus location and the biscuit is yummy. The bad news is, well, there is no waiting area really (and you will inevitably have to wait) and the service is bad. I love the Buckhead Terminus location but this one could use a lot of work.

Service matters. If only every restaurant owner knew this simple rule. The food was average and overpriced, which only added insult to injury. The real crime here is the horrible, horrible service. For all the 4- and 5-star reviews here, I can only assume the reviewers live above the place in the GoodWynn and don't own cars to get anywhere else.

I loved Flying Biscuit until continuously eating at this location. It seems like different cooks doing different things with the what should be the same meal... Somedays the Grits are good then some days they dont seem like "flying biscuit" grits. I was really disappointed when my Cheddar Turkey Burger with Turkey bacon didnt have the special sauce on it. Who forgot to put that on it. The cooks from The Flying Biscuit on Piedmont and 10th need to come thru and show them how its done.

This is not the best Flying Biscuit I've ever been to, but my boyfriend and I were nearby, craving brunch, and wanted to go visit Cost Co afterwards, so it made perfect sense to go there. Even though I called ahead, we ended up having to wait almost half an hour for a table to free up (seating is at a premium at this particular location), and then we were seated near the back by the bathrooms. And the air conditioning was cranked up full volume. Swell. Not a deal breaker, but not a great start to the experience. Our server was good - she came by soon after we sat down and brought our drinks while we decided on what to order. I opted for the Hollywood omelette and my boyfriend got the Original Flying Biscuit breakfast and a half order of their French toast. I go infrequently enough that I always forget how large the portion sizes are. We were really hungry because it was close to 1 PM by the time we had our first meal of the day, but it was a lot: a biscuit, a three egg omelette packed with mushrooms, spinach and cheese, fruit and a piece of French toast to boot. Both he and I cleaned our plates, but I really didn't need to - it was just too good to stop. I swear they put crack cocaine in the biscuits and apple butter. The French toast was different from what I was expecting, served dry with raspberry preserves and an icing-type glaze instead of syrup. It was pretty tasty, but not the best I've ever had. Overall, it was a good lunch, and tided us over very nicely until dinner time, but the conditions under which we ate were less than the best. I still like the Flying Biscuit, in general, but I think I'll go to another location next time.

Food was not as good as the other locations of Flying Biscuit that I have visited. Particularly the biscuits didn't even seem like the same ones, but maybe they were just cooked differently. The service however was horrendous... Our server acted as if he didn't even want to talk to us. Quickly walking away as soon as he had laid something down... Our food came out wrong. He didn't notice, and tried to charge us for items not provided. Didn't apologize, didn't ask for us to come back... Terrible attitude. Will never visit this location again, based on service alone.

I went here on a Tuesday morning jsut to get out of the house. I typically get breakfast out about 3 times/week. I haven't been to a FB in about 9 months so I thought I'd try it again since it's in the neighborhood. The only thing I like here is the coffee. The breakfast omelet was a very mediocre 'ok'. The biscuits are hard and cement-like. I just didn't feel like I had gotten a hardy breakfast when I left. There's too many other good breakfast places (including Waffle House, White House, J Christopher's, etc) in Atlanta to come back here.

I've been to other FB locations and had a great experience, but three times in a row this location has been slower than Moses. It's specifically one waitress that I always seem to get. She just doesn't seem to care that I'm going to leave a minimal tip if she literally drags her feet, doesn't seem to care, and forgets really simple things. We were one of two tables she was taking care of this visit. I would say, only use this location if you've called an order in ahead of time. Not at all worth the visit.

This is one of my go-to places post church service. The place can get a tad crowded but usually one doesn't have to wait more than 20 mins. The Southern Scramble, the dreamy (cheese) grits and the salmon are delicious. The biscuit comes with most dishes and is delightful with it's jam. Pancakes are a plus too. My only complaint is that this chain has many locations but many are small in size. I feel cramped at their tiny 2 person tables and people often brush against you while walking by. Otherwise, I am a devoted fan

  • Maria S.

My first experience with this location was very good. Service was friendly and prompt, and we never had to wait on drink refills. The food is a little different than the midtown location - read more "unhealthy" options - but their gluten free (GF) menu is fairly consistent. My friend enjoyed the flat iron steak for lunch, which looked amazing and was cooked to her specifications. I opted for the Hollywood omelette, but substituted grits for the fruit. (I do love those creamy dreamy grits!) Parking at Town Brookhaven can be a hassle, especially when it's crowded, but if you don't mind a short walk, there's always plenty of space in the Publix lot.

We were looking a healthier alternative than Waffle House and this was it. I had the original flying biscuit breakfast and was stuffed. I was not impressed with the quality of the eggs but the biscuits and sausage are worth coming back for. It is more money than Waffle House but much better food and worth it. My husband had the salmon eggs and enjoyed it. The grits were yummy but not how I am used to grits. Still worth trying though. I do plan to eat here again when I return to atlanta. So much great egg combos to try. I wish there was a platter option for eggs, pancake or biscuit and meat for my kids.

If you want the true essence of this chain go to the one located in Candler Park! Love the location and food. The biscuits and the cranberry butter sauce is delicious, the grits are to die for as well. The best part of this establishment in Candler Park is the fresh bakery located right next door. If you love carrot cake and chocolate then you will fall in love with the carrot cake, cream cheese stuffed muffins and chocolate muffins. You can also purchase all of the biscuits with their special sauce.

Been here a couple of times now and both times were underwhelming. Other than the biscuits their food (at least what I got) was soooo disappointing. I have ordered the mexican style eggs (I'm a huge huevos rancheros fan) and the tilapia fish tacos (maybe not best choice for brunch food). Both were TERRIBLE. If I can't eat it and have to send it back and rather starve, I'm not a happy camper. Sorry, flying biscuit...I know you are popular but this gal will spend her brunch $ elsewhere...

Flying Biscuit is a franchise so each one is owned and operated independently. They really need to vet their partners better because this location gives them a seriously bad name. I've been three times and each time it's gotten worse (sham on me).The last time I was there I noticed they were offering "kids eat free" during the week which is a sure sign they're not doing well. Plus the ScoutMob deals they've been running can't be helping their profit margin. Cheap isn't always better and this location shows that. The place is a mess and the service just isn't up to speed with the amount of people in there. It's a tiny restaurant and the tables are very close together. Every time I've been the server can barely reach the table because there isn't enough room to move around. And the food takes forever which has never been a problem at the other locations. The last time I was there I noticed they changed those wonderful rosemary potatoes. Instead of the dreamy, crunchy fried potatoes they used to have, they now use soft pan-fried potatoes. Not happy about that. And speaking of dreamy- the dreamy-creamy grits are not the same here. Instead you get solid, heavy, overcooked grits. They sit in your stomach like lead weights. I won't be coming back to this location (even with a scoutmob deal).

Flying Biscuit is one of those places that I go to when I have friends in town or if it's on Scoutmob. They have pretty good food across the board, from multiple ommelettes, to great sandwiches, and some pretty good desserts. I'm actually not a fan of the grits, but I know there are others that absolutely love them. The service is usually pretty friendly and quick, and I love the setting of this location in the Brookhaven shops. On our last couple of trips my wife has had the turkey hash and I've had different signature meals. Again, all were good, but it is a little pricey, so we don't go too often. I definitely recommend giving them a shot though. P.S. The most notable thing is that they don't sell pork products, for the most part. I think they have an applewood smoked bacon on their local specialty side of the menu, but everything else is turkey!

Lackluster service. We were never checked on. Mediocre food. Ice Cold collard greens. Very small cramped space. LOUD. Rude looks. Tables awkwardly connected to other peoples tables so you are sitting next to each other. They ran out of potatoes and did not inform us until the food already came out. Save your time and go to a diff location. I love Flying biscuit, but not this one.

Ah, the 'biscuit. The food is to be expected, assuming you've been to one of the other locations around ATL (I've been to each a few times). It's good food, but there is nothing that helps a hangover with a stomach tied in knots like the creamy dreamy grits. I think I'll request them when I'm 98 and don't have teeth to chew anything else. They're da bomb. Oh yeah, and the service wasn't bad either. The GM came out and told us about the scout mob 50% off deal on my iPhone. Badazz of him!!! Saved me almost $20. This place ain't quaint, and it's usually pretty busy and hectic for weekend brunch, and I must admit they seem to have become the Mickey d's of ATL brunch restaurants. But this place is safe-- you pretty much know what you're gonna get, and it's usually decent. And the management at this location knows how to treat customers. Mad props to him and his staff!

This is the worst of all the FB locations. Horrible service. Skimp on ingredients in omelettes. Candler Park location is worth the drive!

We decided to go here they were 50% on scoutmob. The service was sooooo slow....the server did not write down my order which, was picky and I knew that was trouble...I was right...my order was wrong. My roommate also send her food back, that basically just looked nasty and cold! This is the 2nd time I have had a bad experience at this location. Hold the biscuits........

A local gem!!! Great food and service. I always get the shrimp and grits. The location is cramped but the food makes up for everything

I have become a frequent patron of Flying Biscuit since they arrived at Town Brookhaven...kudos to Ms. Andrea during my early dinner yesterday as her service was phenomenal....Vegan BBQ Burrito was awesome!

I went to this place for brunch for the first time recently. I don't get to go to Atlanta often, so a friend who goes there a lot recommended the Flying Biscuit. It's a smaller set up (better made for couples or small families rather than larger groups just due to the size of the place). It took us a while to get seated (over an hour) but I attribute that more to it being Mother's Day than the restaurant itself. Be wary of important brunch holidays! When we were finally seated (at two separate booths because I was seconds away from eating my friend's arm just to get some sustenance and we decided picky was not an option) our server was great. You could tell she was aware people were having to wait, so she was quick to get drink orders going. I went with the biscuit and gravy (which also comes with eggs and grits). When I ordered, the waitress asked me white or wheat, which confused me to a point of rereading the menu to make sure I ordered the right thing (thinking maybe I picked something with toast) but as it turns out they offer white or wheat biscuits. I will say I think the wheat biscuit has a sweetness to it I wasn't expecting which might have started off my breakfast combination wrong. The gravy they use is a chicken sausage gravy, which I thought was kind of bland (I already salt regular gravy but I was dousing it to get some flavor with this). As a proud grits-eater for the past 25 years (I know my grits!) I have to say these were kind of weird. They had a creaminess that I don't know that I've had with grits before, but hey maybe that's someone's cup of tea. The 3 of us at our table had the same concensus "wasn't bad, but probably wouldn't eat it again". I'm sure this is more of a taste issue than anything else. It seemed like a good choice for someone fancier with their brunches than I am.

The food is good but the service is horrible. Our server wrote our order down on her HAND but still forgot half of our items. Very irritating.

I typically have great experience's whenever I dine at the flying biscuit on Peachtree or West Paces area. Today I met my friend at the Town of Brookhaven location and was severely disappointed with the service. When sat at the table we waited 10 minutes to even get acknowledged. We ordered two coffee drinks and a round of waters and it seemed like this order annoyed her as she rolled her eyes and took off. It wasn't until the third time we asked for waters that they actually appeared. Once our food showed up, we waited another 10 or so minutes for her to check back. Waters were never refilled even though she walked by our table quite a few times with the water pitcher in her hand. After being asked for refills she seemed very agitated. She then set the check on the table by setting it under an empty coffee mug which were located next to all the empty plates that had been sitting there. After we paid she still didn't smile, thank us for coming in, or welcomed us back. I don't think I'd ever go back to this location. I'll just stick to the Buckhead and West Paces areas as every member of the staff working at those restaurants have been nothing short of friendly and exceptional.

Flying Biscuit is by far my favorite place for breakfast. It's casual and reasonably priced. The one in Midtown is my favorite due to alcoholic beverages being served (mimosaaaas). Unfortunately, the Brookhaven location does not serve alcohol and don't give me those judgmental eyes for asking for a mimosa at 8:30 on a Saturday morning. The biscuits are TO DIE FOR. White or wheat, you can't go wrong. Just don't forget your cranberry-apple-butter-stuff. Before they bake the biscuits, they sprinkle just a tad bit of sugar on top to give them the perfect amount of sweet and salty. In my beginning days of Flying Biscuit breakfasts, I would order the Meggsican Wrap (I can't remember how they spell it, but it's something witty like that). It is quite delicious and is basically a breakfast burrito. It can be spicy, so be warned. Recently, I've just been ordering a turkey bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with a side of fruit. This runs you around $6.00, but it's a full meal and delicious. The Brookhaven location can get crowded, so get there early!

I was craving breakfast so I stopped in here for a quick bite. I had the Clifton omelette and a pancake. The pancake was heavy not light and fluffy like I like pancakes and it was flavorless, I took one bite and that was all. The biscuit that came with the omelette was also heavy and tasted like a ball of flour, it was inedible . The omelette was just ok. The only saving grace of this expensive breakfast were the creamy dreamy grits, those were delicious. Since the grits were just about the only thing I ate for breakfast , I was hungry an hour later.....

After encouragement from the waitress, I gave into my curiosity and ordered the Southern Scramble. This dish has collard green, onions, bacon in scrambled eggs. Delicious! I substituted potatoes for grits. All-together it was a huge portion of food. The biscuit was big-n-tasty and I love the cran-apple spread. This place gets extra 1/2 star to bring total to 5 because its a new location. Great, fun decor and color scheme.

Excellent breakfast restuarant Food is very good, service is always excellent and the grits will blow you away they are so good. I really like their turkey bacon and chicken sausage as well. The french toast is heavenly. If you need to meet for breakfast I would highly recommend this location.

After The Flying Biscuit sold out and went franchise, I wept at the sight of meat as the norm on the menu and the bright, cheery service degrading into toss the plate of food on the table and be done with it "service". But a Flying Biscuit within 5 minutes of my house is well worth looking into, especially since the other closest one to me is the awful one in the Terminus building (bad service, bad food, ugh). I wasn't quite sure what to expect since it's very tiny, but surprise! Aside from a sparkling new location and pretty dry art on the walls, this location may as well be the original out at Candler Park. Not only was the service very friendly and quick, the food was of the same quality that I recognized from my childhood sitting at those little tables dipping sugar cubes into coffee. Our server was attentive but not overly so and got our orders in and out to us quickly. Looking around I noticed the servers working together as a team to bring food out to larger parties and to make sure food didn't sit in the kitchen and get cold. It was far from the cutthroat world of other franchises and a refreshing sight to my eyes. As for the food, the biscuits match the originals. Fluffy, light, with a crispy outside... just as they were intended. Take a hint, other locations; hockey pucks should not be served to customers. Brookhaven gets them right. The grits were not as creamy as some of the other locations, but I was okay with that. They blended well with the rosemary-dusted potatoes were I could actually taste the rosemary. Divine! My side salad had the perfect amount of balsamic on it and the eggs were incredibly fluffy as well. A great meal! There's even a touch of cranberry in the apple butter now which added a unique tartness to the mix. I used to dislike their apple butter (then again, I dislike most apple butters) but this wasn't sweet and therefore appealed to me. I'll certainly be back, which is a lot for me to say considering my bad times at numerous other locations that were one of the two originals. My only two issues? Parking and the size of the restaurant. Parking is just difficult and people are jerks about it while the size of the restaurant is only an issue if you come at peak hours. When I say it's small, I mean small. We're talking original Candler Park-sized pre-expansion small. It makes it quaint, though, and I kind of like it.

Awesome for casual brunch. Healthy options for brunch. I usually get the Eggstravaganza which has a little bit of everything to taste. Chicken sausage patties are great and not too salty or greasy. 2 eggs your way. Whole wheat french toast with amazing raspberry compote and yummy condensed milk sauce. A big biscuit which are really not that great and bland potatoes. However... their grits are AMAZING. The best grits I've ever had. Hence why they call them creamy dreamy grits. This location is rather small but it is soo much more convenient than the one in the Terminus building. Other locations like the one in Sandy Springs are HUGE I've even thrown baby showers there!

Okay. I caved in and visited this Flying Biscuit this morning (Sunday), since my friend lives in the complex it is located in. The place was slammed. I got there before my friend and was told that there would be at least a 20 minute wait. I chatted with the hostess for a minute and she asked if I would like to sit at a bar facing a wall. It meant no wait, so I had no problem. I ordered the Egg-Ceptional dish, which included black bean patties covered with feta and sour cream and a little tomato based sauce. It also comes with a side of grits and a biscuit. Service was SLOW, but excellent. Our waitress could not have been nicer. She was outstanding. Obviously, when visiting a restaurant this packed, there will likely be slow service. I've never liked the Flying Biscuit, but this one seems to have better food. I still hate the brick-like biscuits. I just wish they would work on their biscuit recipe. Maybe I said this before, but if this biscuit were to fly, it could knock a person to the ground or break a window. I have to deduct two stars for the lousy biscuits. The grits are great. First time grit eaters might even enjoy them. The only thing they could do to improve the grits is to use stone ground whole corn grits. Still, they are excellent.

Ate here on the 4th. I'm a big fan of Flying Biscuit and have good experiences at Midtown and Norcross, but this was my first time at Brookhaven. The long wait for our table was understandable, as they were quite crowded. However, our indifferent, nonresponsive and impossible to find waitress and the 40 minute wait for our food, after we ordered ( and the crowd had significantly decreased by then) were unacceptable. At the 30 minute mark, I asked the waitress if our food would be coming soon and in a rather disdainful tone she replied "hopefully" though it was clear she was not going to bother checking. The food was good, as usual, so I would give them another try and hope for a better experience.

Not from ATL and i know there are 5 of these in town. I think this was the one i ate at, but a local friend told me he likes all of them. Went there for brunch, had a peach mimosa, grits and love cakes...it was even better than it sounded. I love southern cooking. If i were in town longer, i'd go back every day.

Food was decent..however...when I brought my starving 5 year old son and there were ONLY 3 tables in the restaurant, the service should've been a HELLUVA LOT BETTER! There were 2 servers handing this NON BUSY ENVIRONMENT yet she took more than 20 min to take our order..C'mon seriously! She and the other server were standing in the back just talking away. The food was yum, once we received it however, because of the service, I prob won't return to this location.-Oh and one tid bit of advice, CLEAN THE DISHES OFF OF THE TABLE WHEN GUESTS ARE FINISHED EATING. I felt terrible for a table of 4 with dirty finished plates were just piled up!

Hadn't been to a FB in like 10 years. Only ate at the original in mid 90's and once it went CORP, definately wasnt going to eat here. Well, ended up at the one in Buckhead in the winter '11 and was happy to have the comfort foods, though biscuits needed some help. Went to TOWN Brookhaven lifeless village of retail hell in Feb '12 b/c of the two-fer coupon and descended upon a world of activity. It was the TOWN grand opening give-away event. FB was giving out free Biscuits. AND DANG, BAM, The 90's original biscuit was back! YUM! Was going to order the same eggstravaganza I had in BH to be safe. She suggested I try the special with the fried green toms and many other sitems all layered high in a bowl swimming in a moat of grits. Sounded a bit iffy and like too much to eat. She came back to see how it was and I had nearly licked the bowl clean. Was willing enough to go back for lunch two weeks later and found TOWN to be a ghost town. Decided to do lunch. Ordered a special that waitguy suggested and was please with the salad greens with chicken on top with corn and black bean salsa etc. Hit the spot. Then finished my GFs chicken sammy with the applewood smoked bacon. Again, couldn't beat it for the price and the price was also 50% off with an online deal. Now if only they could do those biscuits right each time. Have been back to the BH location for my eggstravaganza and so so biscuit. It works for a quick reliable and would rather FB than waffle house or ihop for bfast anytime.

I hired a caterer to do a Bachelor'sBreakfast for my son's groomsmen. They never showed up. Flying biscuit saved the day! In 45 minutes, after calling Flyong Biscuit, 20 men were sitting down to a great meal.

I love the other flying biscuit locations in Atlanta but this location always seems to be disorganized and slow. The staff is nice, but seem like the don't know what they're doing. On the bright side, the food is great but next time I think I'll choose somewhere else for brunch.

This is my favorite breakfast place, and it has been for the past four years. Friendly staff, excellent service, delicious food, good atmosphere. My go-to is the Bacon and Eggs Breakfast, but I swap the turkey bacon that comes with it for pork bacon (the turkey bacon is actually some of the best turkey bacon I've ever had, but it's still turkey bacon). The eggs are always cooked well, the applewood smoked pork bacon is among the best I've had, the Creamy Dreamy Grits are, in fact, quite creamy and dreamy (they're the only grits I'll eat), and the biscuits are warm and fluffy; all for a good price.

Decent food. SLOW service. Twice a server has forgotten to put in our order. Since I live literally upstairs I would love to like it but not worth the time.
