I orders the Turkey burger which was very good. And a side order of fries. Expect to pay at least $15. Kind of pricey for burger and fries but life is short if you have the cash why not? The decoration is very hip/chic. Nice atmosphere. The people that work here are all attractive. Beautiful women.

I went here with a couple of friends for lunch on a Saturday. The best part of the meal was the Captain Crunch milkshake. It was worth every calorie! I would come back just for the milkshake. The burgers were good, but on the smaller side. We had the pickles, sweet tots and onion rings as sides. All were decent. This place falls short on the service. We were seated right away and our order was taken. We then waited a really long time for our food. I thought for fried sides and 4 burgers the wait was too long. The place was busy, but not the busy!

Y'all. Flip Burger is OK, it's trendy and cute and all of the waitresses look like they spend their tips on tanning bed memberships. Flip has some good things going for it, but it's mostly the "couture burger boutique" aspect with the cool architecture in a mostly white palate, to show off the waiters sick tans. "It's so L.A." I'll tell you what. Flip got rid of their fried okra and other things I like to put into my mouth. I'm displeased, but makin' it. A friend and I shared the fried pickles (very good) the truffle mac & cheese, and the brussel sprouts. Genuinely telling you all that it's not the best thing I've ever eaten. For my entree I ordered the raw tuna tatare as a lettuce wrap. Having tried and been underwhelmed by the burgers, I was looking to mix it up. But then everything started happening. My French 75 was kicking in, I was excited, Then my "wrap" came out. The tatare was served open-faced on a bibb of lettuce about the size of my palm. While it tasted incredible, truly, I regret my decision to put it in a "wrap". It was runny, and a waste. Flip isn't a messy-eating kind of place, so I felt embarrassed having a little somethin' somethin' running off my mouth. The current rave on Flip would be the milkshakes. They have Atlanta's own Krispy Kreme milkshakes, as well as nutella and burnt marshmallow, which I have tried! I never order milkshakes, but they are a treat at Flip Burger.

I love Flip Burger - it is a great place to bring a date or to be saved for a more special occasion, like having guests from out of town. Compared to the other gourmet burger joints in ATL, Flip Burger is way more creative (I mean, Coca-Cola Ketchup & Liquid Nitrogen milkshakes?), has smaller portions, and decent quality. However, it really takes a toll on your wallet for a burger meal. So even though I'm a big fan, I usually save Flip Burger for more special occasions (and even dress up a little!). My faves - spicy BBQ sweet potato tots & the Local Burger. Not a fan of - Krispy Kreme Milkshake. Though I love milkshakes and Krispy Kreme donuts, I personally didn't like them combined.

Flip Burger is such a cool concept! I liked the toppings on the burger more than the actual burger. My honey got the trio of three mini burgers, said it was alright but not amazing for a burger joint. I will say that the tomato bisque was one of the best I've had surprisingly. We also ordered a plate off all the fried stuff, fries, onion rings etc and I liked the dips they put on the plate. Good, but nothing to shout about. I ordered a Nutella and burnt marshmallow milkshake but the bartender forgot it. I'm guessing its delicious and she talked it up but since I never got to try I can't tell you how I felt about it. Decent service, cool spot (where the old blockbuster was in my youth). I liked the brussel sprouts but I had them at the Howell Mill location. Only downside is how oily they were... All in all not a bad place to grab lunch but for the price tag I'd rather roll with Five Guys.

Flip is a great concept. Who doesn't love burgers? (If you don't like burgers, then you should avoid a place called a "burger boutique" but I digress) Personally I love the sides more than the burgers, especially the okra cut lengthwise. Who does that? Brilliant! Well, ok, not really brilliant, but creative. The shakes? Great. Liquid nitrogen in a shake? Even better! Alas, I'm only lukewarm on the burgers. This place used to make an osso bucco burger, which ROCKED!!! Now, they've replaced it with a gyro burger that is pretty sad. They still have a lot of other burgers that just aren't interesting: a chorizo burger? They do have a "local burger" but that's not much better than something you can get for less $$ at your favorite pub...oh, but it's local, so if you like that for $25 (or whatever it cost now, seems like it jumps around in price) then have at it. Shouldn't "local" cost less? I mean, they have to ship the ingredients in from Macon, right?

I loved the decor of this place, very modern and they took the "flip" concept even in the design. The food was very good, though they didn't have appetizers, so we ordered sides while we waited then had similar sides with our burgers. I got the falafel wrap with a green bean salad for the side. It was fantastic. Both had great flavor and were made with fresh ingredients. I really enjoyed my meal. The others in my group seemed to also be very happy with their food. The fried pickles were good. As for drinks, they serve up "smoking" cocktails and adult milkshakes (they use dry ice.) The milkshake with coffee Patron is heaven, very creamy and not too sweet but not too much java flavor. I also like that they have a good selection of craft beers.

Kathleen M. says it well. I've been here once, now I'll return to the other places where I get a better value/quality experience. I had lunch here, and the lamb burger was small and overcooked to my request. Fries portion was small. My next door diner also complained about her food. So?????

Oh the numerous amounts of times I've passed this place without entering, but I have always had the idea of trying it out "one day" and that day finally came. I ordered: 1. Turkey Burger (monterey cheese, crushed avocado, pomegranate ketchup, tomato, alfalfa sprouts) 2. Sweet Potato Tots (coffee bbq spice sprinkled on top with blue cheese foam dip) I love the awkward combinations of ingredients for each food item on the menu. The Turkey Burger was mouth-watering. Perfect portion (for myself) and it was a very light meal. The Sweet Potato Tots were very different from ones I've tasted. This may be due to the BBQ Coffee spice. It was good, but I don't think I'd get it ever again. I got tired after 5 tots or so. Other than that, this place seems like it's always steadily busy, which is a good thing. I'll definitely be coming back to try more burgers!

Richard Blais scores! Flip Burger Boutique...gourmet burgers with molecular gastronomy...who can argue? Wifey and I tried out this place...wow! First, the decor...modern retro. Very cool. The booths have their seats "flipped" on their sides...very cool. So...the food...wifey ordered the Classic Burger...beef burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, a couple other things...she got the fried okra with her burger. The burger was outstanding! The pickles really made it good. Okra, while fried, was light...and tasty...and I do not like okra! I ordered the Chorizo Burger...chorizo spiced ground pork with Manchego cheese, hash browns, Spanish paprika, smoked mayo, almond romesco and a Fried Egg! Wow! Very, very good! I had the fries with this...and they were crispy and good...but not super outstanding. Interesting note...the burgers here are NOT huge...which, to me, is good. Too often, when you get burgers, they are huge. These, to me, are "right sized." Last thing...the Krispy Kreme Milkshake. Oh my goodness...tastes just like a Hot Fresh Now KK glazed doughnut...JUST LIKE IT!!!!! I cannot wait to go back and try the Nutella/Burnt Marshmallow shake! Haiku: Cool, retro decor, Flavorful, right sized burger... Smoking cold milkshake!

My second food'gasm of my Atlanta trip. The more we think about this place, the more we like it. Came here after a long day of sight seeing. Four adults and 4 kids. It's pricey but was really awesome. We don't even eat red meat and this place was that good. Only thing preventing the extra star (and another reason why yelp needs 1/2 stars) is the price....the below meal was over $60!!! Kids: They split a classic burger Wife: Had the turkey burger. Originally I was against this as I like to go halfsies and turkey burger sounded boring in light of what this place offered. Oh my....I was incorrect....this thing tasted like a real burger. Was awesome. Me: The Chorizo burger. Fried egg, hasbrowns, manchego, pork....Seriously? I can't stop thinking about it. It was that fantastic. Sides: For the table we got the sweet potato tots, the onion rings, and fries. Everything was great, just not omg great. The desserts!! Yes........ 1) Nutella burnt marshmallow 2) Krispy Kreme Shake Both came 'smoking' due to the liquid nitrogen it was dipped in...very cool presentation. The K.K. shake tasted like batter...the nutella tasted like holy goodness. Go here! I know i want to go back.

My friend brought me home takeout last night from here. I was really expecting the "best burger". What I got was three small charred parties. The bun and toppings were really great. But horrible burger. Could be better if you ate there.

So I'm rating this simply based on Yelp's reviews. I consider this place more of a 3 star kinda place but 2 Stars describes EXACTLY how I feel about this place......"Meh. I've experienced better." I had the shrimp burger which was very unique but forgettable and a little too messy with the sauce that they use. I may have hyped myself up a little too much for this place and I guess I was expecting one of the best burgers I've ever had in life, but I was let down. I also tried their Krispy Kreme shake and wasn't impressed either. It tasted like stale donuts. I think this place is a must try at least once and don't let my review stop you from going because it is a unique experience but I probably won't be going back. Maybe the food was just off that day.

okay, my Earth & Turf burger was a bit greasy (especially when factoring the oiled bun and the cheese) but I think a juicy medium-cooked burger will provide slight oil spillage. I also ordered the Trio which had slider versions of the rBQ, fried chicken, and butcher's cut. The best thing about all three was that they each TRULY EMBODIED the flavors printed in the descriptions on the menu. From the smoky mayo on the rBQ, to the rich blue cheese and the wine jam on the butcher's cut, and the curious, crunchy b&b pickles that complete the fried chicken....I just love when what's on the plate matches and/or exceeds the mental images and phantom taste sensations occurred when reading the menu. I could gush more about FLIP on things like the wonderful décor, comfy cozy booth seating, or how you feel like Richard Blais is in the kitchen (especially when you can watch him demo recipes via the flat screens), but I'll end with a review of my favorite part of any restaurant: THE BAR! I will definitely be enjoying my next burger while seated at the bar. The one drink I chose was called the State of The Nation; for a $9 cocktail it better have been good. It also embodied every aspect of the printed description. It was also a conversation piece; as it arrived trailed by a cloud of white smoke (from the liquid nitrogen the bartender added, which I'm not sure was not on the menu but a pleasant surprise). I will definitely come back and spend some calories here!! OH and lastly, I think our servers name was AJ and is truly a gem, just staying on top of refills (since I drink water like a cow) and she seemed genuinely happy to provide "great" service (whatever that is {I hated waiting tables})

Let's just say Richard would not be winning Top Chef if the judges were judging him on this restaurant. Leaving a bit disappointed.

Usually I visit the midtown location and really enjoy the food and experience. My husband and I were in the Buckhead area and decided to visit this location. The customer service was great, the food was okay, however at the end of the meal I noticed a roach crawling on the wall within our booth, and several fruit flies on the wall! It was disgusting, both of us we quickly exited the building. As I stated in the beginning we usually visit the other location however this experience has really spoiled my desire to go to either location

I came here for a late lunch during the week and was seated right away. The wait staff was very nice and helpful with the menu. I got the Butcher's Cut burger and it was great! I would totally recommend this for a fun burger with a great atmosphere!

I had high hopes for FLIP BURGER but it was okay. I love the mayonnaise dip sauce that comes with the fries. its small to me, & gets crowded quick. Would i ever go back hmm it depends if someone pay my way lol. I;ve tasted better

I am religious about burgers, and I decided to try flip. Their burgers aren't classic by any sense however, they are unique and delicious and reasonably priced. The milkshakes are amazing, and the menu prices are very kid friendly. Will return!

Location: In the corner of Piedmont and Roswell junction in Buckhead Food: Specialty burgers and milkshakes Parking: No valet, little hectic to find a parking spot during busy hours Service: Very friendly and customer oriented Flip Burger is known for its delicate speciality burgers and infamous Richard Blais milkshakes that melt in your mouth! It's one of my favorite burger joints in Atlanta. Not sure when but they've also started a lunch set menu at a reasonable price with a burger, side, and a drink. My friends and I were there for lunch recently and although there was a bit of unpleasant factor, the management did an excellent job making up for it. The unpleasant factor was a piece of hair found in my burger as I cut my burger in half... short and curly... I'll leave it your imagination... Gasp, thank goodness I cut my burger in half before taking a bite... Anywho, they gave me a fresh new order right away and treated all 6 of us to delicious treats by surprise. Not only did the manager come to apologize, they were very friendly and insistent on making things right. They earned a big points on that! Koodos for them :) I couldn't give them a 5 star because of the incident but they're still good on my book!

Flip Burger is alright in my book. We took a visit there last night for the first time to give it a try; afterall we have been living in walking distance for almost a year now, so it was about time. Lucky for us last night was 1/2 price bottle of wine night. We ordered their Pinot Grigio for $15 ($30 reg) which wasn't the best choice we thought when it arrived and the waitress unscrewed the cap. Not to be a snob, but I like my wines with corked; that is unless it is the famous Boone's Farm wine enjoyed by high schoolers across the country over the years. The wine was very acidic and didn't have the sweetness that you would find in a good pinot grigio. So next time I'll stick to my favorite beverage of choice; BEER! For dinner we split the Butcher's Cut burger that was quite tasty with an order of fried pickles and onion rings which were also quite tasty as well. The burger was cooked just right and the blue cheese, caramelized onions, and jam went well with it. The fried pickles were a little different than you get at most places they had a very cucumbery taste with a sweet after taste that was pretty damn good. The onion rings were also good with batter that reminded me of funnel cakes. After dinner we decided to give a couple of their milkshakes a try, so I got the Krispy Kreme milkshake and my fiance ordered the nutella & burnt marshmellow shake. Both of which were very good; my shake tasted just like a donut dipped in ice cream and hers tasted like a smores. Our service at Flip was excellent. Our waitress greeted us as soon as we sat down, explained the menu to us, and took our drink orders. Once she came back with the drinks she took our order for food. The food was out in record time for a Buckhead establishment. While we dined the waitress made sure that we were satisfied with our meal and filled our glasses with bottle of wine we purchased. Overall it was an excellent experience and we plan on coming back again soon.

So I made the fatal error of getting the best burger they offer the first time I went and have never had the same experience since. With that being said I still love this place. I would always recommend the Deluxe burger as there is nothing that will compare to it. I am obsessed with Nutella so if i see it on the menu somewhere then I am for sure ordering it. The burnt marshmallow milkshake is just ridiculousness. It is that good. My buddy got the Krispy Kreame milkshake and said it was amazing as well. He said you can not only taste the doughnut but you can even taste the icing. I highly recommend this place to anyone who lives or visits Atlanta and wants a good burger.

I ducked in here on a Wed night while killing some time and I'm glad I did. The burger was AMAZING, the sweet potato tots were great and the Brussels sprouts were on-point. Great meal. Oh, and I heard the shakes are good as well but I was too full to try!

This place has gone downhill. I don't know if Richard is just busy with his new joint but the attention to detail has gone. Overly salted fries...vodka-battered onion rings with no discernable flavor of vodka...very average burgers...you get the picture. Shame - I really liked this place once upon a time.

There are a number of well-documented reasons to rave about Flip Burger (like the sweet potato tots). Every good thing you've heard is true. I'm going to rave about this Flip because Danielle works there. You may ask, "Who is this Danielle?" Well, I'll tell you. Danielle is one of the mysterious geniuses in the kitchen at Flip. She has been known to design the occasional winning burger recipe. And she has been known to whip up quite the tasty milkshake. (Yes, you must get the fois gras milkshake.) Plus, Danielle gave me a hug. You may ask, "Why on Earth did she give you a hug?" And that, my friend, is another story altogether. So when you check out Flip, be sure to say HI to Danielle. Tell her I sent you.

LOVE the burnt marshmallow nutella mil shake! that was probably the best milk shake I've ever had. I love how they freeze it some more after they make it with liquid nitrogen. It definitely made a huge difference. The classic burger was excellent. Brought the leftovers home and it still tasted delicious. The fauxlafel was ok. I'd skip the sweet potato tots for the fries instead. They don't have a kids menu but they can easily make the burger/cheeseburger kid-friendly (without mayo/mustard...etc.). Parking can be tricky even in their private lot. I had to circle a few times before finding a spot during lunchtime.

Burgers are amazing. Shakes are insane. They have a Krispy Kreme flavored shake that tastes EXACTLY like the donut. Wow.

This place is very cool, has lots of fabulous foods to choose from and is generally fast. The first time I drove by I actually thought the place was closed because the lighting is very dim and I couldn't tell if anyone was in there, so I didn't stop. The next time, however, I decided to try it and was excited when I realized that they were open. I really like the classic burger, but I am a purist so I only get lettuce and tomato on it. The actual taste of the beef is pretty good--no complaints here. The onion rings are really yummy and are made in a vodka batter. Honestly, these are the best onion rings I've ever had. Their N2 shakes are also really good-though the price is a bit steep in my opinion. They have a Mint Chocolate Pudding one that is DELICIOUS. If you're a chocolate fan, you HAVE to try it. I would give this place 5 stars if the lighting was a bit brighter (it is difficult to see the restaurant) and if the prices were a bit lower. My boyfriend and I went this weekend and ordered two burgers, two shakes and two sides and the total was $64 before a tip. Normally I wouldn't mind, but it could be lower because the portions are not big and if you're really hungry you could easily eat two burgers.

Very hip, fun burger joint. The fried pickles and sweet potato tots are absolutely delicious, and the Turf & ? burger was amazing. Mushroom, carmalized onion, gruyer cheese, etc. etc. was earthy, juicy and full of flavor. I had it at the recommended medium temperature and would recommend this to anyone else.

I found my favorite burger (I don't remember the name), but all the options looked tasty. Everything about it was fantastic...taste, size, how it stays together..wonderful. The onion rings were lightly fried, not deep fried - which was a welcomed difference. I thought the atmosphere was nice. I wish they had a spot in NYC.

I really wanted to like Flip Burger, as I have heard many people rave about it, but I'm still trying to figure out what the hype is all about. A friend and I decided to meet up for a late lunch this past Saturday since we were both anxious to try their burgers. After about a fifteen minute wait, we were seated and our server came over to get our orders. I decided I would have the classic cheeseburger, while my friend ordered the butcher's cut burger. We also each ordered a side of fries to round out the meal. It took about 30 minutes for our food to be served, which is a lot longer than expected given that the lunch crowd had thinned out. The fries were good, but both my friend and I found our burgers to be very lackluster. Mine had almost too much sauce or something, which caused the bun to become soggy and the burger to fall apart after a couple of bites. The smoked mayo and ketchup that was served with the fries was just kind of "meh" and I really didn't think that it added anything significant to the meal. Flip Burger seems like it wants to be known for being trendy as opposed to being known for serving great food. It was okay, but I don't see myself making a point to go back any time soon. There are simply too many options in Atlanta if you have a hankering for a great burger.

OK, so first things first. People looking for a diversion from McDonalds or Whataburger are naturally going to come here and find the place pricey and leave ugly reviews. IGNORE THOSE REVIEWS. Fans of Richard Blais, or people looking for a fun fine dining, but family friendly place will love it. First off, on the issue of price; Blais is making burgers from pulled pork, fois gras, chorizo and all kinds of inventive protein sources. 2 all beef patties and special sauce fans should look elsewhere. On the other hand, with a $10 lunch special, it really won't break the bank either. On the issue of service, which I've seen noted here a few times, I can only saw that on my most recent lunch visit with my wife and 2 toddlers, we had nothing but fast friendly and warm service from the hostess to the waitress to the people who refilled our drinks. If you want the most unusual, tasty and inventive burgers you've ever had, along with some outstanding side options (which are pretty cheap) like sweet potato tots with chocolate salt and marshmallow foam, you'll think you died and went to heaven. On the issue of portions, I'm a big guy (200 lbs) and had the chorizo burger, a soda and we split an order of the sweet potato tots and the truffle fries. My girls each got a grilled cheese for about 3 bucks and my wife had a burger too. All told I was stuffed and we barely spent $40. Could we have hit a Chinese buffet for about half that? Sure, but you get what you pay for. This place is awesome, so ignore the negative reviews and just go and enjoy.

OMG! Delicious. I had the rBQ burger which was awesome! The fries are really good as well. Then for dessert we shared the Krispy Kreme donut milkshake. (Next time I'm gonna try the Captain Crunch shake!). Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. New favorite!

As others have said, it's a very trendy little burger joint, but it's very cool! The seats go up to ceiling and all the seating in the center of the restaurant is very close together. It essentially looks like two very long tables. I tried the farm burger, and I really enjoyed it. All of the burgers were so unique and specialized. You can tell someone put a lot of thought into the recipes. The best part for me was the fry trio. It comes with fries, sweet potato tots, and onion rings. Each item had it's own dip: smoked mayo and ketchup, bleu cheese foam, and beer mustard, respectively. And of course I had to try the burnt marshmallow and Nutella milkshake! It was delicious. Awe-inspiring, really. Next time I'm adding vodka for sure. The service was great, but it was very slow when I went, so I can't accurately rate that portion if the experience. My recommendation: go there. And try everything.

Alot better than Vortex!! I dont care much for portion sizes, so the burgers at Vortex may be bigger than Flip, but Flip's burger are just better quality and flavor also. My first time here I got a Chorizo burger. It was really full in flavors and a slight amount of tang. The Nutella milkshake with the marshmallows was indeed amazing, next time I am here though I will try the Pistachio milkshake. Overall service was friendly, its super packed during dinner, wished there was more space, other than that, I still recommend this place for a bit of twist on burgers.

A great way to decide if you're never, ever going back to a restaurant? If you leave still a little bit hungry and have to pick up food. We'd heard a lot about this place, especially their crazy good shakes/combinations, so we finally decided to give it a shot when we were craving burgers last week. Immediately upon entering, it just felt like the place was... trying too hard. It's trendy and fancy in there, sure, but you can be trendy and fancy and still have warmth. It felt boring and sterile. Everyone we interacted with (well, just the hostesses and our waitress) were like robots. No personality. The girls are dressed really nicely, but they could stand to smile a little. Our food came out super fast, so that was good. And the shakes were good, too. My burger was just eh, my husband's was better - he had the one with the pulled pork on it. Every thing is al carte so we also split some sweet potato tots, and no complaints there. Okay, so the food was okay, the shakes were tasty... But I will say this. The shakes were small for what they charged, and for two burgers, one side and two shakes, we paid $40+ with tip. Forty. Dollars. For two burgers. Shakes. And one side. I repeat. Forty. Dollars. And sure, the burgers are fancy schmancy but they are small! I felt so annoyed! That's just ridiculous for SMALL BURGERS. Yes, we stopped and got food on the way home (pathetic, I know!) because we were still hungry (we hadn't eaten all day which is why a burger place sounded nice and filling). I will probably never go back. I felt like we paid more for the uppity atmosphere than the food. And I have nothing against uppity - I've lived in NYC and traveled - but it was blah uppity :) Never going back. There are soooo many better burger places in the ATL that will continue to get my biz and keep me full and satisfied. :)

I went here with my cousin because it is owned by Chef Richard Blais (the winner of Top Chef All-Stars") to see what his food is all about. The ambiance of the restaurant is very trendy and "hip" - I was in sweats and a t-shirt because I just came from the gym (lol) and felt kind of out of place... What we ordered: -[[ D'lux burger ]]- This burger was a bit on the $$ side ($20 for this burger) but it was well worth it. It was sooooo good. It has seared foie gras (fatty liver), currant-orange relish, smoked mayo, and sea salt. It was all so flavorful, I wished the burger was a little bigger so I can have more of it! -[[ Raw steak tartare burger ]]- My cousin ordered this. I had a bite and it was good as well. It had this cute and tasty with the little egg on top. -[[ Sweet potato tots ]]- A must order when you go to flip burger. 1. Its sweet potato. 2. It's a tater tot. What other combination could be better?! It was crispy, had a tastey seasoning, and it just works so well! I wished I had room to try the shakes... but since I just came from the gym, I figured... I better not... lol. Next time!!! **{{Overall, my food tastiness experience thus far }}** I give it 4 stars! Super yummy burger, but a little overpriced. Can't wait to come back the next time I visit my cousin in Geooooooooooorgia.

We've been waiting for quite some time to try the food of Richard Blais (of Top Chef fame). Finally we made it down to Atlanta and one of his Flip Burger restaurants. My wife and I split two of the burgers. The first was comprised of chorizo-spiced pork, hash browns, manchego, Spanish paprika, almond romesco, smoked mayo, and a fried egg. Holy moly. This thing was an absolute flavor explosion. Spicy, savory, rich and creamy. The second burger was a little more traditional: grass-fed beef, 3-year aged cheddar, baby kale, apple house chutney (I said a little more traditional), and smoked mayo. Not surprisingly, it was juicy and delicious, although if I had to complain I will say that there was too much mayo. I had to wipe some off. For dessert I had a liquid nitrogen Captain Crunch milkshake, which was just awesome. The interior of the restaurant (this is the one in Buckhead) is sleek and contemporary, with an almost futuristic feel. Parts of it felt a little forced and somewhat pretentious (televisions playing odd performance art), but it was a cool contrast to be eating burgers in that kind of a setting.

Went today to try it out after hearing great things about this place. Found it to be delightfully good. I enjoyed the classic burger and added some good ol' cheddar cheese to it. We split the trio of fries, onion rings and the sweet potato tots. Very filling and the trio is definitely a great option with two for sharing. Ended it all with a Nutella and burnt marshmallow shake! So. Good. Service was good, although we went when hardly anyone was inside so I would've been surprised if it were bad! The manager (I believe) even checked on us to make sure we were enjoying everything. Definitely will be back and I want to try the new Cap'n Crunch shake next time!

Every one has a favorite burger place and mine is Flip. They have the most creative options, not just a beef burger. The atmosphere is closer to a club than a burger joint. The milkshakes are incredible. They make them with liquid nitrogen. The cocktails are creative and yummy. Not the place to go if you are in a diet.

I came for lunch yesterday; around 3pm... The place was empty- took about 5 minutes for someone to get water filled up; another 5 to get our waitress (mind you, there were only 4 tables occupied when we were seated)... She was friendly when she got to the table- I would hope for her there was a miscommunication on who was to serve us... The beer menu changed around a little bit, and so did some of the burgers. I ordered the $21 D-Lux(beef, foie gras, truffle, other exotic toppings), and while it was very flavorful, it seemed like there was something on there that didn't belong (like a liver or something, I am trying to erase it from my memory). The initial flavor was spectacular, then kind of took a dive when that mystery stuff came about... The sweet potato tots were pretty good. I ordered a nutella/burnt marshmallow shake, which is the time time I have not ordered a foie gras shake- and let me tell you, I did not expect it to be runny like chocolate milk (aren't these things supposed to be nitrogen injected?? I always remember it being too thick!)... But the flavor was good- if you like hazelnut chocolate milk. I can kind of get the vibe why the place was empty.... bad deal!

My friend and I decided to go to flip after a workout because we wanted to see if we had the will-power to resist their milk shakes. I have had their milkshakes before and they are awesome, but that is in the past and maybe a splurge in the future. While we resisted the milkshakes we got to try some other options. We went on a Wednesday night and I'd say it was about 3/4 full. I was amazed that I was literally coming from the gym and although boutique is in the title I felt okay with how casual I was dressed despite the fact that a table over it looked like a Tory Burch store threw up on a girl on date. Flip Burger...... I like you..... I wanted to love you, but I think I will see farm burger instead.

It was ok. Burger not better than the Vortex with a very different vibe of course and it was noisy (but so many restaurants are lately). The modern decor is cool. Friendly staff. But it comes down to the burger in my book. Maybe the actual of the meat quality is better here? The shakes looked fun and interesting but did not try one.

It was okay, I haven't tried the burger but I did ordered the Fried Pickles, Onion Rings, and French Fries. -French fries were really good, for homemade fries they were really crispy and they still had the potato taste in it! I really enjoyed it. -Fried pickles were also great too, they had a lot of juice and the crispiness was there so that was enjoyable for me. -As for the onion rings they were okay, they were really salty though. I could bite into it and just taste salt., but I like the crispiness and it wasn't soggy. As for service? I believed my waitress was drunk. She was dozy and was listening something because at times she would not pay attention to me and my friends when we were ordering. But I believe she was a bit tipsy on her job.

Great burgers, cool atmosphere for a date. Not many choices for sides, but awesome milkshakes. Service was great last time I went.

I live around the corner from Flip in Buckhead and I want to like this place so much! But, it just doesn't live up to expectations. I went a couple of nights ago and sat at the bar. We were having dinner before a concert, so we were there early. We asked for the vegetable of the day and were told that they had run out of it. I ordered the fried chicken burger and it was absolutely terrible. It was a very overcooked, tough piece of chicken slapped between bread with a tiny piece of pickle. It was honestly inedible and even if the chicken was cooked properly, what is "special" about this take on a friend chicken sandwich/burger? Considering the cult following Flip used to have and Richard Blais' culinary reputation, it feel like no one really cares about the food or service at this Flip location. It feels like Richard is focused elsewhere and maybe doesn't realize how standards have slipped. They are cruising on their initial reputation, but doing nothing to maintain how they got there.

I've been to the Howell Mill location twice and today was my second visit at this location. Both locations are pretty good - I've had the Classic and Farm burgers before but this time I was craving a black bean burger. FLIP HAS THE BEST BLACK BEAN BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!!! The menu says it's homemade. I don't know how they make it but OMG it is AMAZING. It has just the right amount of black beans and right amount of crispiness to it (Most black bean burgers end up to be a mushy mess of overcooked black beans). It's very hard to describe other than, it's amazing and I scarfed it down within minutes. I will be ordering this burger again! I really appreciate how they have an extensive menu (beef, lamb, brisket, shrimp, etc burgers) and of course their liquid nitrogen drinks are wonderful. I'll have to come back here again for the black bean burger!

I was shocked to see that Flip wasn't rated five-stars all around. I LOVE FOOD (obviously) and have incredibly high standards for taste, service, atmosphere, etc... Flip was flippin' awesome. It blew Good Stuff (my local Top Chef burger joint) totally out of the running. No wonder Spike lost... The atmosphere is trendy without feeling exclusive. The music was great- each song that came on was better than the last and it felt like they were playing one of my mixtapes. The food- wow. My friend and I split the special mac n' cheese to start and were overwhelmed (in the best way) by flavor. I had the steak tartare burger, as I always feel compelled to order tartare when I see it on a menu, she got the chorizo 'burger' and we split fries and SWEET POTATO TATER TOTS with CHOCOLATE SALT and MARSHMALLOW FOAM. I could literally bathe in the marshmallow foam. I need more of that in my life. The friend also got the nutella shake and I had a glass of Riesling. $49. Seriously. In DC that meal would have been closer to $80. I want to go back and eat everything on the menu. I don't get why people are so uppity about the portion size- it's a boutique burger joint, NOT Five Guys. I'd give Flip six stars, if I could.

I love Richard Blais, first of all, and sitting across from his while we ate was such a treat! I thought this place was pretty pretentious for a burger joint. I've never felt under-dressed for a burger joint, much less for lunch. The decor I loved tho, its very minimalist/contemporary/space agey if you can imagine that. Host and servers where friendly enough, although we got the wrong side but it got remedied pretty quickly. Food is extremely over rated. I Had a turkey burger and although pretty good, nothing special. My friend had the lamb burger and was extremely under cooked as well as bland. My friend got fried okra as a side and he didn't like them at all. I on the other hand got fries, and this def. was the highlight of my meal. AMAZING fries! Perfectly seasoned with sea salt, and the dipping sauce just elevated them to a whole different level. Def. get the fries! And of course, our trip to flip wouldn't be complete without shakes. I got the nutella+ burnt marshmallow which was just divine, I wanted to live in it! My friend got a strawberry milkshake which tasted like haaqen-dazs strawberry ice cream. SO GOOD. I feel like Flip for me is one of those places that you have to visit at least once, and would be ok if you don't ever come back, unless of course you just have to get those awesome shakes.

Richard Blais is not only the Top Chef All Stars Winner, he is also the King of liquid nitrogen. Walking all day in the hot Atlanta climate, i was more than ready for an icy treat. We had the nutella smores and strawberry shortcake milkshakes. The thing i love about flip burger is that they are creative but also practical. It was cool to see your drink approaching, with all the the cold air emerging from the glass, but it also remains cold the whole time. The marshmallows had the right amount of char one them, it tasted like i was at a campfire. I don't know if i could specifically say that it was nutella, or just chocolate but it was delicious. My sis had the strawberry shortcake and she loved it, but i tasted just like strawberry, we didn't get where the shortcake element was. Flip burger was a great place to cool off and i cant wait to come back again to try one of their legendary burgers.

I had a late dinner at Flip Burger in Buckhead last night, and was really impressed with the quality of the food. My wife and I walked over from our hotel and by the time we arrived I had worked up quite a thirst - good thing Chef Blais was thoughtful enough to include a decent beer list on the menu! I downed a couple of amber ales before the entrees were even out. My entree was the lamb burger. It was cooked perfectly medium and came dressed with a citrus-y gyro sauce, mixed veggies, goat cheese and arugula. The flavors really complimented each other well and I really enjoyed every bite. The missus ordered a barnyard burger, which is a grass-fed beef burger with pork belly(!!) and veggies. It looked fantastic and she raved about it, but even my best puppy-dog eyes couldn't convince her to share a bite. For sides we shared an order of french fries and sweet potato tots. Both excellent, but the tots were the stars of the show - they had a nice coffee seasoning on them that really complimented the sweet potato nicely. For dessert I had a Krispy Kreme shake and she had a Nutella shake. Yep, mine tasted like drinking a donut. It was everything I'd hoped it would be. She enjoyed hers as well but she didn't care for the burnt marshmallows on top. Oh well, her loss and my gain! We were really impressed by the portion sizes at Flip Burger. Everything from the burgers, to the sides, and even the shakes were sized perfectly. Many burger joints have a tendency to plate MONDO BURGERS that leave you feeling bloated and yucky for the rest of the night. But here, we were able to actually enjoy every bite/sip and still walk back to the hotel in comfort. Bravo!

Fauxlaffel burger Delicious. Just the right size and was a nice fusion of fresh flavors. Unlike a falafel it was not heavy in seasoning so it kept the burger light. Fresh cut fries Very good. The dill and sea salt made these memorable. Nutella with burnt marshmallow shake Amazing! I'd add this to your meal. I want one right now Atmosphere Very cool and the service was good. I definitely recommend checking it out!

Let me first just say I went here like a year ago, and I'm just getting around to writing the review, so lets hope things have changed a bit since then... Anyway, I went to this place for a double-date with my girlfriend's friend. We waited for no joke 2 hours to get in. I would've left after 30 min if I wasn't on a date. Anyway, we finally get in and order, and by this time I'm about ready to eat my shoe. Then the food comes, and it's this little, tiny burger that fit in the palm of my hand. Unremarkable in flavor as well. Also, too expensive. At least the milk shake was good. They do this weird process with liquid nitrogen so it gets this frozen crust on top.

Two words. Brussel sprouts. I'm serious. Brussel sprouts. Order them. Do it. You won't regret it. :-) A few days later one of our friends tried to make a bit of her own because we craved it so badly. The confit duck nuggets were pretty good- crispy, and melt-in-your-mouth goodness on the inside. I ordered the steak tartar burger- hanger steak, garlic, chili, capers, worcestershire, pickled onion, frisée, smoked mayo, soft poached egg yolk. It was pretty good- I just wish it were bigger. I got a bite of the pork belly burger, the osso bucco, and the cuban burger as well. Each of them were distinct in flavor, and had me wanting more. But dangit, those burgers are so small! The place was packed out- make sure you get here early, otherwise prepare to be waiting in line. I was definitely impressed with the different flavor concoctions offered in the food here. While it's pricey for a burger, I realize that this place is trying to create a niche of their own- I'd just call it "fine-burger-dining". And it's pretty darned good. Looking forward to the next time I get to eat here.

There are better burgers in Atlanta, but Flip wins in the following categories: 1) Location 2) Ambiance 3) Bar 4) Milkshake 5) Star Sightings Who would have thought an old Blockbuster could be turned into a burger boutique? Leave it to design firm ai3 to literally "flip" this prime real estate at the corner of Roswell & Piedmont into another Buckhead hot spot. And did ai3 create a cool space. The chic banquette-booths line the walls where dim lighting makes a posh waitstaff adorned in all black look even more hip. There's a bit of an attitude at Flip but we are in Buckhead. The bar at Flip is beautiful and well-stocked. I've only ever had a beer to wet my whistle pre-burger indulgence yet always eyed the signature cocktails. One day, I will be more brave and opt for better booze. However, don't fill up on liquor because Flip's Nutella milkshake is my favorite icy-sweet-treat inside the perimeter. Those toasted marshmallows are worth a trip to Flip. My favorite thing about Flip, and why I will continue to bring people back here, is because the people watching is so much fun. Hotties pre-gaming for a night out in the Buckhead Bar scene, brunch beauties following church on Sunday, or the power lunch crew all convene at Flip. I even saw John Travolta and his entourage here! Rumor has it they were staying down the street at the St. Regis. Minus 1 star for paying $30 for a burger, shake and beer but only getting a food coma and no buzz. Another star would be taken away for sour-faced servers however seeing John Travolta, a true star, earned Flip that extra point.

I have waited a few months to write my review for Flip Burger because just thinking about my experience heats my blood. My friends and I decided to go here on a Tuesday night, and because they don't take reservations, we put our name on the 45 minute wait list. The lobby/bar was extremely crowded, so we understood why the wait was so long. We sat at the bar and waited for a bartender to take our order. He came over extremely flustered and told us he would be with us in a few minutes. He said there was a concert at Chastain park, so that's why it was so busy. Understandable. We asked for a drink menu and waited for him to return. A few minutes later, he came back to order our drinks. I ordered a beer on tap and was promptly given my drink, but only one of my friends was asked for her order -- a martini. A few more minutes passed before he brought her drink and asked for orders from my other two friends. At this time, seeing how busy he was, I put my card on the bar in plain sight to pay for my drink. While waiting on our less-than-friendly bartender, we started looking around. I could see from where I was sitting that there weren't that many people seated on the patio and started looking in the main dining area. There were several available tables. I'm not one of those people that spots one booth in a restaurant and freaks out because it hasn't been seated yet. When I say there were available tables, I mean there were more tables open than people even seated. We were very confused, as the lobby was so crowded it was difficult to move around. We didn't say anything to the hostess and waited for our table. For thirty minutes, we had our cards sitting on the bar in front of us waiting to pay for our drinks. The bartender never said anything about paying and didn't give us a chance to ask to cash out. Finally, the hostess took us to our table. Again, just to reiterate, we were seated among several open tables. As soon as we were seated, our server comes over and tells us the bartender said we didn't pay for our drinks. By this time, I was a little irked, so I was a little snappy when I told her we had tried to pay for them, but he never returned. We gave her our cards. We ordered our food, which is a la carte. The food came out promptly and was pretty good (three stars), but this is Atlanta, so there are far superior burger places. After our food came, we didn't see our server again. We still hadn't gotten our cards back from the bar and never received our check. We were seated on the patio, so after waiting for our server to come back, I finally went into the restaurant to hunt her down. I asked for our check and also told her we never received our cards back from the bar. No apologies. No nothing. 3 stars for food. -5 for service. Let me just end this with saying that I'm a nice person. Really, I am.

We stop by for a weekend lunch once every month or so and pretty much everything we have ordered there has been great. They have lots of different burgers, from the a classic, all-american burger to beef burgers with interesting toppings to shrimp or lamb or chorizo). The portions are small, but that's great because we each want a burger (we choose different ones depending on our moods), want to share a couple sides (fries and the ceasar), and want to share a milkshake (krispy kreme). You can do all that and not leave feeling stuffed.

It was a late Monday morning and my boss was taking us out for lunch. Someone read my mind and suggested Flip Burger, which I'd been dying to return to after a wonderful first experience at the branch along Howell Mills Rd. I was slobbering all the way in the car to the other Flip branch in Buckhead. I decided to try the nutella and burnt marshmallow milkshake and the lamburger. I simply couldn't forgive myself again for not trying any of their famous liquid nitrogen milkshakes. After all, my boss was paying. Why not exploit a free meal to the fullest? I didn't enjoy my milkshake, to say the least. The marshmallow pieces were, literally, BURNT. Now I'm a molecular biologist/biochemist/microbiologist. The burnt flavour of the marshmallow pieces in my milkshake sadly reminded me of what I smell occasionally while sterilizing an inoculation loop in a Bunsen burner flame - charred biological material. And $5.50 for that. Then came the long wait for the burger. There was absolutely nothing to take my mind off that glass of milkshake with the painfully charred marshmallow floating on top. I forced myself to consume it as much as I could but by the time I reached halfway, I just couldn't take any more of it. I wished I could somehow return it, scoop out the marshmallow or that someone among my co-workers would volunteer to finish the milkshake for me. I wished the glass of milkshake could magically disappear from my sight! The lamburger that finally came was merely average. The citrus goat cheese was overpowering and it wasn't great. I could barely taste anything else - not the tzatziki nor the succulence of the lamb patty. I don't know what to think of Flip Burger now, or at least, this Buckhead branch. What I know for sure is that if I do make another return, I should avoid the milkshakes at all costs. Never be the cheap, greedy Asian again!

It was a Sunday afternoon and not too crowded. The strawberry mojito was incredible. Full of fresh mint and berries, probably the best mojito I've ever had. Burgers and sides are separate. The menu notes the fries are cooked in beef fat, so I didn't order any sides because I don't do red meat. I got the tuna tartare burger and it was cleverly presented, referencing steak tartare, with a mango sauce that you have to break like an egg yolk. It's actually so convincing that at first I was like, 'Bleh, what is this? I'm not eating this egg yolk!' It was good and pretentious enough that I didn't feel at all ashamed to eat it with a fork.

I love the creativity behind the menu creation of the burgers. Some are great and some are mediocre, I will admit, but I love the ever-changing menu. The burgers are always cooked properly which is hard to find. The milkshakes are delicious, especially the foie gras! Great place to go for a mid-level price tag.

My buddy suggested we hit this place up before we went out for a night on the town. I had already been to Yeah Burger, Farm Burger, and other gourmet burger places so I was expecting a good quality (but pricey) burger, a large crowd, but a relaxed casual atmosphere. I got to Flip a bit early and as soon as I got in, I noticed that Buckhead was in full effect. But this was fancy buckhead, and the first thing I thought was, "Did I just walk into a club?" There's mood lighting, THREE hostesses (seriously? you need that many?), tons of people dressed nicely, and just an overall nightlife vibe. OK, so there's no dress code here and there were a couple jeans and t-shirt peeps, but overall it seemed the dress code was self-enforced. We got our table which is just in a row of tables right next to each other, so you're pretty much sitting next to random people. There are big TV screens showing music videos constantly (which oddly enough is not the music being played...), and most of these videos are the popular indie rock types (TV On the Radio, Interpol, etc.) A pretty funny moment came by when "Lotus Flower" by Radiohead came on screen and since the music wasn't being played, a bunch of Buckhead Bettys were confused by the presence of dancing Thom Yorke freakin' out to his own music. Imagine this on mute, and a bunch of confused women watching: youtube.com/watch?v=cfOa… As for the food, well it was very good. I forget exactly what my dish was, but it was some sort of raw fish burger that was quite tasty. The fries were extra, and they weren't anything special. The overall meal (with a beer) came to about $25 once I settled tax and tip. That's a bit pricey for a burger meal, so i'm not sure how often I'll be visiting this place. I think Flip Burger is an interesting experience that people should try at least once. I think I'll stick to Yeah Burger or Farm Burger due to higher quality and cheaper prices, though.

Friends brought me here for lunch on a recent trip to the ATL and the place did not disappoint. Solid burger options -- I had the butchers cut and it was delicious, my friend had the Bun mi chicken which was also tasty. The only small flaw ... is that if you eat slowly your bun can get soggy from the sauce/juices of the meat. Just an fyi, not really a critique. Fried Pickles .... this item is a MUST ORDER (nice crunch and flavor to the pickle and not overly battered like sometimes can occur ... yes, I guess I am a bit of a fried pickle connoisseur) We also split the heirloom salad and while it was tasty the tomatoes were very cold. Tomatoes hate to be refrigerated (and these clearly had been ) so I was surprised the kitchen made such a rookie mistake. Fortunately the feta and evoo on it saved the day.

Not impressed for the price. Burgers are so small that I was still hungry and I normally only eat half of a burger at other restaurants. Patty was overcooked and tough. Good fries though still not enough. I get that this is a shee-shee burger spot and higher quality ingredients cost more but still.

Hipsters rejoice! Flip Burger can be described in three words, "trendy burger spot". This place is somewhat intimidating when you first walk in if you're not completely accustomed to a very modern setting while you eat. This particular Flip Burger had a white/red/black color scheme with wood accents and large lights emitting medium brightness. Everything looked new and shiny and fresh (most likely because this location opened just a week prior haha). The booths along the wall are floor to ceiling and help provide you privacy while still allowing you view the whole restaurant. No condiments on the table, only a cloth napkin wrapped around a stainless steel knife and fork. The service was lacking a bit at this location, but I'm giving them some slack since they had just opened a week prior. Getting seated was a breeze, we went at 1 pm and that must have been towards the tail end of their lunch rush. Once seated, however, it did take almost 10 minutes for someone to give us water and take our order. When he did arrive to take our order he was very good at relaying recommendations and daily specials. The wait for the food wasn't noticeably long like the wait for the waiter, and to his credit he was very diligent at keeping an eye on us. They happily split checks up for individuals unless your party is 8 (maybe 6) or greater. THE FOOD IS UNDENIABLY DELICIOUS. If you take away anything from this review, let it be that the food at Flip Burger ranks high on the taste meter. Their portions are smaller than I'd like, but then again I'm not an average sized person so, again, I offer some slack. Their burgers are always cooked to medium unless otherwise requested and they're so juicy and so full of flavor. My first bite into this burger and I could feel my pupils dilate in surprise at the amount of flavor I was taking in with one bite. I got French fries on the side (other side items offered, but all sides are ordered separate from the main burger entrée) and they were quite good, could have been a little warmer. Overall the food helps this restaurant surpass all their short comings, so delicious. There is a pretty wide variety of items on the menu. They do offer some unique milkshake options that I didn't try; these range from Nutella Chocolate and Peanut butter shake to a Krispe Kreme milkshake that sounded pretty irresistible. They offer beef substitutes as well; I saw at least one veggie burger, a turkey burger, bbq pork, steak...and most likely a few I missed. This particular Flip Burger offered a wine and beer menu as well, with a physical bar you could sit at in the restaurant as well. Please visit the NEW! Flip Burger on the corner of Roswell Rd. and Piedmont Rd if you are interested in having a burger with great flavor and don't mind a bit of portion size sacrifice.

I have to respect the portion size. Fat me wants more. But skinny me respects the small and juicy burgers that leave you satisfied but not comatosed. This place is the definition of trendy. No reservations? And people still happily wait 20mins and socialize by the bar? Trendy. Anytime you have to lean in to your friends ear to talk bc its so boisterous? Trendy. Highlights of the meal: Nutella milkshake - creamy with the roasted marshmallow goodness Special burger of the month 'Southern' - It's a chicken fried beef burger with diced fried green tomatoes. Woah dere. It had a thin crunchy layer on the meat that added some snap to every bite. Turkey Burger - Had a pomegranate jam and my lady added some fresh jalapenos. The patty was oh so juicy. Fries and Fried Pickles - yes and yes. Sauce that comes with the Fried pickles definitely has some form of crack in it.

The service is spotty, sometimes it's great and sometimes it is a challenge to get a servers attention. The food is the same, we have had great experience as well as one terrible experience. My wife's burger was well done and mine was rare. We both ordered the medium. It took 45 for these two burgers to be served and we were not happy. We called a manager over, her re-ordered them and they came out in 8 minutes and they were perfect. So we know they can do it , but the question is IF they can get the orders right. The wines are; 1) lest expensive - not drinkable 2) moderate price - not a great selection 3) expensive - good choice to choose from. we walked out of there close to $100 . that is a bit much for "burgers". So we go there once an a while - for that price we have many more and better options. Just a footnote - We have been to the Howell Mill store and had a better service experience, so you have a choice. My opinion if you are looking for a "Classic Burger", Go to 5-guys for a good burger at a fair price (also a bigger portion).

I recently found myself at the Buckhead location. I've been to the original on Howell Mill at least a dozen times so clearly I am a fan. I saw no difference in the two locations. The bar area at Buckhead is slightly separate, and there is much more parking. Other than that it was the same. It's hard to review the burgers because they change so much. On that particular visit I had two. Well, one and a half. The first was the the burger that tastes like a hot dog. It was okay. I wanted to try something different and I did. The second had mushrooms, onions and some sort of whipped swiss creme fraiche. It was easily the best burger I've had at Flip. I tried the fingerling potatoes. Amazing! I could have eaten two orders. No trip would be complete without the nutella and burnt marshmallow milkshake. It is the best milkshake I have ever had. It never disappoints. It was so good I had two. What can I say, I had to make the most of my visit. I will definitely be back to this Flip location. Not only is it closer to my home, the parking makes it will worth the trip.

First of all, love top chef and blais. Love how paula deen was a guest last night. Been to both locations, I like the howell mill one better but this one is just as nice, more open and has better parking. Their turkey burger is the best I've ever had (ask for extra pomegranate ketchup on the side!) and I always split the nutella shake with somebody else...its a great deal cuz you technically get double the marshmallows. The shake is more chocolaty than hazelnutty but it nevertheless is extremely tasty. My favorite part of flip, however, are actually the sides. Onion rings trump the fries. I had my first fried pickle experience and they were amazing. I was worried they would be soggy in the center but the pickles are sliced so thinly that it is almost like a chip. So yummy and I used the sauce that came with is bomb. I used it for every other side and probably would have dipped my burger into it if I had enough. The zucchini fries are also better than the normal fries and soo yummy. I have friends coming in next week and this is def one of the first stops. Not the place for you have a huge appetite (unless you order multiple burgers) or your ideal resembles something from vortex

Seriously a new favorite in Atlanta. I'd say coming here on a Saturday evening @8 pm was way stupid. We waited 30 min for a table for two. Try to come early for dinner since this place gets packed fast! Always looking to try unique takes on traditional food so I braved the Steak tartar burger. It was not my favorite but I did enjoy the light citrus slaw on it. I now know not to mess too much with the classics! Fries were average, tots were crisp, onion rings needed more batter but the fried pickles were SENSATIONAL! I still dream of those...sigh. Speaking of dreaming, can I get an AMEN for that little piece of heaven called the Nutella and Burnt Marshmallow shake? The char on the top is what gives this treat such a unique flavor. Also, I tried the apple pie shake and it was good but not as great as the aforementioned above. Service was as good as one could expect on a crazy busy Saturday night. Get there early, order the fried pickles, grab a juicy burger and finish w/ the Nutella & Marshmallow shake! You'll be on the fast track to diabetes but you'll be loving every bite!

You had me at milkshake! This is our "regular" rotation. Hubby happy with lamb or wild-kind-of-burger. Me - the veggie - though the last one was better than the falafauxfel one ... and the munchkin loves the fries. SO - do the math. We like it. Fast. Easy. Priced just right. And those milkshakes ... We go early - 530ish, and sometimes for lunch... so it is never very crowded. Restrooms have always been clean. The menu changes just often enough to keep me interested ... Remember to try the milkshake ....

The Nutella milkshakes are worth the trip alone. However, while you're there don't miss out on the RBQ burger with some of the most delicious brisket I've ever tasted. Their sweet potato tots are fabulous, their appetizer sampler is delicious, and we've yet to try anything we did not enjoy. I hope they bring back their roasted cauliflower dish soon. My only issue is the sound level when we are dining in. It can get way too loud to be able to hold a conversation with your table mates. Other than that, WOW! Great food, great service and great prices for a trendy, sit down establishment.

I have never had a better burger. It was perfectly cooked and had an excellent amount of flavour and the wait was short! I want everyone to try this restaurant! The menu had a great large selection of wonderfully crafted burgers. There was even a burger for the pickiest eaters. Anyone would enjoy this place. I've heard that one of the iron chefs own this place, and with the food it really shows. Just go to this restaurant please.

Came here for my birthday and the burger was great. I had the churizo burger with the onion rings and it was all awesome. The wife had the nutella shake with burnt marshmallows which was very good also. No complaints, but if I had to mention a negative the service was just a tad slow considering the place wasn't full for lunch.

Best burger joint in Atlanta! Have eaten @this location and the one in Birmingham at the Summit many times never to disappoint. Had the turkey burger on my last visit the bun was magnificent, the turkey juicy and the toppings wonderful.

In atlanta you have to take any area you can get get to sling your vittles. Case in point, Flip Burger Boutique smack in the off center of a parking lot shopping plaza right at a very busy intersection in Buckhead. I dare say after eating here it's worth figuring out how to get into the shopping center to dine. Inside there is a proper bar area with decent wines, signature cocktails, beers and I even spied some Nehi pop if that's your thing. This is a burger joint but not a typical burger joint. The dining room inside is energetic and stylish. Shame the view at the outdoor seating is building backs and the ever congested roswell piedmont elbow. It is covered to keep the sun off your beautiful skin but the air is still roswell road air. You will find burger menu options conventional and entirely unconventional including Fauxlafel, steak tartare, lamb, chorizo, salmon and tuna tartare. I opted for the butcher's cut completely adorned with red wine jam, blue cheese, carmalized onion, soy truffle vinagrette and a perfect medium cook. bun compliments but not overwhelms. This is one outstanding burger. All of us that bit into it were somewhat speechless. Really is something THIS GOOD? really. it is. it's not giagantic but it will fill a belly especially with a sidecar of delicious handcut fries and bacon mayo. There was a turkey burger at the table, and perfectly acceptable with sprouts and mashed avocado but the group declared it paling in comparison to the Butcher's cut extravaganza. I am absolutely going back for that butcher burger. I may in fact dream of it on and off the next month. Notable side, Brocolli rabe with manchengo finely grated over and adorned with pecans, brown butter and lemon zest can make you feel full of virtue if only for a fleeting moment til the milkshake arrives. The nutella shake is sinfully good with burned marshmallows on top (and they do add them liberally). Check out Flip. It did not disappoint me a bit. I am glad it's so close to my stomping grounds.

This was my first visit to this location (been to the other location a few times) and I have to say, I was underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong, the burgers are good. And the milkshakes are great. But the burgers just don't live up to expectations. Based on reputation, and the Richard Blais connection, I guess I expect something transcendent, and it simply is not. Details... -Butcher's Cut burger - I enjoyed it, but the reality is that all I could taste was blue cheese. I love blue cheese, but it completely dominates everything else on this burger. They either need to use less or a more mild version. I cut out just a piece of meat with no toppings to see how it was - in the world of high end burgers, I'd say it's pretty average. -Chorizo Burger - Very good, but surprisingly one note, and a bit salty (and I like salty!). Didn't have the depth of flavor I've found in really good chorizos. -Cap'N Crunch Milkshake - I didn't "get it." it just tasted like a vanilla milkshake with pieces of cap'n crunch on top. A fantastic vanilla milkshake, mind you, but just vanilla. And I really, really hate the seating set up. If it's crowded, odds are you're going to be sitting inches from the table next to you. I really hate that. And the chairs are very uncomfortable - definitely recommend requesting a booth if it's not very crowded. My butt literally fell asleep just sitting there!

I had hoped my first and only experience at Flip Burger would find me gushing about the quality of the burger (fries sold separately) but unfortunately my experience was not that good. Aside from a malfunctioning soda machine dispensing lightly carbonated syrup the burger was flavorless and hard as a rock. Luckily the "Classic" comes with many accompaniments that hope to mask the bland chunk of meat and while they did a decent job I still left half my meal and left Flip still hungry. Considering the menu proclaims the fries are fried in beef tallow I'm afraid those were disappointing as well. While the taste is good ours were delivered luke warm, soggy and greasy. I think the biggest disappointment has to be the rushed service. While I get the joint is trying to go for a hip club like vibe the service was far too rushed. The waiter made no effort to determine if something was wrong with the meal and was all too happy to bring us the check. I rarely take the time to calculate a 15% tip these days (20% is just easier to do) but this occasion warranted it. All that and a table that had me facing directly into the soda machine and wait staff work area leave me doubtful I'll waste my time, money or calorie allotment here.

Now this place has got it going on!! I can't remember the last time I had juicier burger. I was a little intimidated, so I went with "The Classic." WONDERFUL! I really hope to get back before I leave town. There were several intriguing takes that, now that I know what "respect" they have for the burger, I'm anxious to try! The smoked mayonnaise was oh, so yummy! A side sampler (fries, onion rings & sweet tater tots) were all deelish! The service was excellent; friendly, quick but not intrusive! This is the model for the way to run a restaurant! A good, varied menu, friendly, professional staff and food that lives up to the description! If you get a chance, GO!!

Am I a foodie? Do I not have a problem with smallish, but tasty burgers? I guess the answer to both is yes. This place was great - the atmosphere was a little cold (too white and shiny, like a doctor's office over a place to eat, but, the funky booths (which were full) made up for this a bit. Soooo.... how were the burgers? Did they taste like a grass-fed pampered beef? Dunno, I went straight for the tuna tartar burger. And guess what? I was not disappointed. Our large group had everything from the classic burger to a chorizo burger, and no one left hungry or disappointed. I tried a nutella milk shake, which was delicious (I didn't go for the capt'n crunch one as I never had that as a child - such a deprived life!). All in all, I will say, next Atlanta trip will also include a stop here again. Yes, it's a bit pricey for lunch, but really, it's good to treat yourself to something really good every now and then. Odds are I'll pro'lly up the rating to 5 with a second visit, but honestly, I can't see this place disappointing me at all.

3 stars: A-OK I like burgers. I like Top Chef. I liked Richard Blais on Season 4 of Top Chef, and I was happy for him when he won All Stars. I liked him a whole lot less after Life After, but maybe because it seemed like his family was sucking out his soul like a piece of roasted bone marrow. I really wanted to like Flip Burger and praise him and his liquid nitrogen to the skies. There are so many good burgers that one must truly stand out to differentiate a good "celebrity" burger from any other good burger. Going ADD with the availability of toppings and descriptions of the gourmet burgers and not being able to decide if it's a nightclub or a restaurant are indicators that there is some kind of identity crisis going on at this place. What's wrong with a good, honest hamburger? It doesn't have to be steak&shake or johnny rockets style americana, but there are plenty of places that put the burger above the atmosphere. Becoming well-known, if not famous, shouldn't stop a chef from being able to produce a good, honest hamburger without so many distractions. There's just a lot of stuff going on in this restaurant, and I'm not sure if it's complicated for the sake of being complicated, like liquid nitrogen shakes, or because it makes a taste difference. Everything just seems a bit overdone here. Like he's trying too hard. Like he's a good guy, and feels bad about charging almost a Jackson for a burger and wants you to understand he's going to charge you because he's doing all this fancy sleight-of-hand with the prep and the ingredients so you really ARE getting your money's worth. It's just too much. And to add insult to injury, the oil tasted a bit stale on the fries and the fried pickles, like it hadn't been changed in a minute and it was spent.

I've been at the Howell Mill location before and I love it, this is my first time at this location, This location sucks. The food still good, but service (at the bar) is terrible and ruins the moment. By the way, when you ask a bartender for a drink you would think they have, he/she should recommend something similar If they dont have that particular drink Just saying.. Really bad experience.. I waited all day to eat here and for sure I WILL NOT come back to this location.

What a disappointing night at Flip?! I first went to the one on Howell Mill Rd and it was a blast! This Buckhead location was just the total opposite! Went with my friends at 9:30pm on Friday. We sat, it took over 5 minutes before the server came over to introduce herself and gave us water! We each ordered a different burger. Mine was the regular burger. The patty was totally over-cooked and dried! The fries were only warm and greasy! I suspected all the food was pre-cooked and sat for a while! Granted the entire restaurant was filled with frat boys and girls from jersey shore... call me judgmental but you know those folks would put anything in their pieholes and call it delicious! Should've stayed with Farm Burger, Vortex or Killer Burger!

I ate here with my parents recently, and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this place. I can't speak to busyness or wait times because we went on a weekday, at an odd time between lunch and dinner. It's s a very hip, club-like restaurant- not my usual kind of place for family dinner but I wanted to try it out because the owner was on Top Chef. The menu was quite sophisticated for a burger place- again, not my usual thing as I'm a picky eater- but I was pleasantly surprised! My burger was delicious, as were the fries. The portions and burger size were on the smaller side, as to be expected, but that was just fine because I had plenty of room after dinner for a nutella/burnt marshmallow milkshake, which was like nothing I've ever had before! As for the service, it was pretty on par with most other restaurants I've been too- a little slow, especially for there being so few patrons there, but it wasn't terrible. So all in all, I would definitely eat here again. The food and dessert were just too good.

Hip space. Hip decor. Hip food. It's an incredibly trendy place with booths that look very well padded and space agey. The tvs during my visit were playing some pretty technicolor nonsense that you usually hit your tv to clear up. The servers were polite enough although they can also be a bit spacey. Maybe I'm over the mini burger craze or my tastebuds don't need to be impressed at every bite, but Flip just doesn't hit the spot anymore. But I do understand the need to come here every so often. It's convenient with plenty of parking. It serves drinks and can make you a flavored soda (coke?). It can satisfy your salty and sweet craving. Their prix fixe menu makes the cost pretty reasonable. I had a turkey burger with a side of sweet potato tots (I love tots! I love sweet potatoes!). The turkey burger came with sprouts, which I love (I love a lot of things, okay? (Like parentheses.)), but I didn't really taste the pomegranate in the ketchup. Overall, a pretty decent turkey burger, but then again, I ate it so fast, I don't really remember the flavors. My tots were a disappointment, but only because I didn't read the fine print. Of course my sweet potato tots would be made sweeter with chocolate salt and marshmallow dipping sauce! It just didn't taste very good (kept thinking the chocolate salt made them look burnt), even if I weren't craving salty tots. So, they got a hefty shake of salt and got dunked in ketchup. They were saved. Overall, I think it's a great place to try. And after trying it, it's a good place to return to because you know it'll be consistent. But you might leave hungry if you don't order a side dish or a milkshake. Just warning ya.

I actually enjoyed my experience at Flip Burger in Buckhead... The red decor was hip and the staff was friendly. The seasoning in the burgers and the side dishes were on point! I actually wanted to lick my plate---yes I did! This isn't your typical burger and fry joint! So don't expect a huge burger, but I was fully satisfied. I noticed all the waitress were about size 2, I am not sure if that is something that is required in the job description...hmmmm! Overall the experience was good and we got a booth so that made the experience more enjoyable. Cheers!
