This restaurant is housed inside the Sheraton Atlanta hotel and presents a lounge-like atmosphere in its bar area, complete with sports-tuned flat-screen TVs, dark furniture and quiet lighting, and comfy chairs and benches to sprawl in while enjoying a drink. A small collection of tables and tall chairs waits for those who just want a nibble with their drink, while dining chairs and tables in the back of the room and a couple of banquettes separate the bar from the restaurant. The menu in both areas is more or less the same, with a few sandwich/appetizer options added to the bar menu, and a few larger entree selections on the restaurant menu differentiating them. While visiting Atlanta for DragonCon, I had occasion to visit Fandangles twice (we were staying at the Sheraton and during DragonCon, convenience can very much be a factor when it comes to mealtime). On the first visit, the night of my arrival, we opted for the restaurant side of things. The restaurant is relatively small and though many tables were seated, it wasn't what I would call "busy" by bustling standards. The service was very slow, which surprised us given that they didn't really have people waiting and it wasn't loud or chaotic by any means. As someone who had been up since 3 am and was finally sitting down to an actual meal at 9 pm, I was exhausted, wanted a good meal, and my bed at the earliest possible moment, but the entire meal from drinks to check probably took about 90 minutes. Their saving graces were that, though slow, our waiter was very gracious at every approach to our table, and the food was really tasty. My friend and I both opted for the three-cheese grilled sandwich (mine minus the tomatoes), which was perfectly grilled, balanced by fresh basil and very comfort-foody for someone looking to fill up and crash out after hours in an airplane. My second visit, I opted for a snack in the bar and had a BBQ chicken flatbread that had a very crispy crust. It might be too dry for some, but it was perfect for me, and I loved the crunch-crunch while perusing my DragonCon schedule. A bit pricey, but hotel restaurants tend to be, and food-wise, I've had much worse for the prices they were asking for. I don't know that I would deliberately seek out Fandangles on a trip to Atlanta in the future, but if I were to be staying at the Sheraton again, I'd be ok with it as a dining option. I'd just try not to go when I was REALLY hungry.

Atmosphere: 3 Stars. It's a nice looking lounge style bar. Menu: 2 Stars. The drink menu was pricey so I stuck to draft beer. Unfortunately Blue Moon on tap was priced at a whopping $6.00 a pint. Service: 2 Stars: The bartender was average at best. She was friendly and offered advice on the menu but lacked professionalism. Management: 1 Star. Never saw him, but could hear him yelling at the bartender for taking a call on her cell phone. Praise in public, reprimand in private. Hearing him yell at her was far worse then her stepping away to take a call. The place was near empty and no one would have noticed had he not decided to put on his big boy pants at the wrong time. Food: 3 Stars. I ordered the Country Burger which the bartender recommended. It was pretty good. Came with waffle fries and the price matched the portion size. OVERALL: 1 STAR. I gave it a 1 start for multiple reasons. Most importantly, over priced beer. When the cheapest beer on the menu is a domestic draft at $5.75, it's obvious why the bar is empty. The most disturbing part of this visit was the lack of professionalism by the staff. Several employees hung out around the bar because they had nothing else to do. The bartender was average but it was obvious she never worked in a real bar. What put this 1 Star in stone was when an employee came behind the bar and the bartender helped her remove her fake nails. They stood right in front of me digging away at her nails. I left pretty disgusted and won't return to the hotel bar.

Had dinner here twice. The food was great! Not at all what I expected from a hotel restaurant. The service was fantastic! Anthony (Tony) was a wonderful server and truly made the experience enjoyable and memorable. I would highly recommend both the food and service and the entire staff goes out of their way to provide first rate service.

Ordered fish tacos, they were overlooked on the outside and raw on the inside. When I sent them back, they did not offer anything to compensate me! They also had the slowest service ever. Go anywhere else!

Coming from the Botanical garden, I was quite tired and wanted to pretty much rest after dinner so I opted to go to this restaurant inside the sheraton (where I was staying.) I had a seat instantly and the waiter took my beverage order right away. After that, everything was a bit slow which was fine because I was in no rush. I ordered the adult grilled cheese and the scrap salad which were both pretty darn good..yum:) I asked my waiter for the check and to grab me a box. After 5 mins, the waiter came up to me and was verrrrrryyy apologetic and asked if I wanted a new sandwich or anything else. I said it was OK and just the bill. He was reluctant to that idea and came back to me saying "it is not OK, we will take care of your bill." NO ONE IN CALIFORNIA DOES THAT!!! Surprised??? I was! Will I come back?? If I come back to ATL, hells to the yea ;)

The physical description that the other reviewers describe is very accurate so I'll skip that. Tonight I did not feel like walking to get dinner so I stopped in to Fandangles. I placed my order at 7:45. My food was brought out to me at 8:28. That's a total of 43 minutes for my dinner to be prepared. ALL I ORDERED WAS A CHEESEBURGER! The place was busy but not at maximum capacity. The bar staff was friendly and very apologetic. A manager never spoke to me other than to tell me my food would be about 5 more minutes. That was the third time I was told "just 5 more minutes". When I did get my cheeseburger it was excellent. The hamburger, the bun, the veggies where all super tasty and the fries where hot and fresh. The issues is the cooks cannot handle cooking for a house full of people and I had to wait 43 minutes for a cheeseburger. The saving grace is that a bar tender knocked 50% off my bill. Food: Excellent Speed of Kitchen staff: Nonexistent If I find myself with a couple of hours to burn and I'm in the mood for a burger I'll think about going back. Other than that I'll go somewhere else.

I created this account just to say great things about this place. Went tonight to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and wasn't sure what to expect based on the reviews. Kind of wound up here bc it was pouring rain and we didn't want to leave the hotel. The place was pretty empty when we showed up, but was full, with a wait, by the time we left. Our waiter, Tony, was fabulous. He seemed more than happy to accommodate our needs (substituting a side, no salt on the fries, etc). He was so good in fact, that my boyfriend let the manager know. I had the free-range grilled chicken with truffle mac and cheese and asparagus, my boyfriend had the organic steak burger with waffle fries. Both were all we could've asked for. And actually, that macaroni was to die for. We would, and likely will, gladly return when back in town.

Went to Fandangles for dinner and jazz. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like royalty from the hostess, to the manager Karim, our fantastic (!!) server Tony, and Chef Mark who came out personally to greet us. I had the lobster bisque as an appetizer and was very pleased. The presentation was gorgeous and the soup divine. The fried green tomatoes and the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizers was one of, if not the best appetizers my brother has ever had. The corn chowder also looked fabulous and was combined right at the table.. I have never seen this before, but loved the twist. For dinner I had the special of the day, a blackened red snapper with a gumbo sauce on a bed of parmesan grits with asparagus and ham. Being from the north I am always skeptical about grits but these were the most delicious dish. So smooth and creamy with the perfect amount of cheese, asparagus and ham. The fish was so flaky and had a crisp blackened crust. Absolutely delicious. My wife got the lamb shank with grits (and mini carrots)which was awesome..... so tender and a great marrying of flavors. Dessert was such a treat with a sampler of their steamed lemon pudding with a blueberry compote on top, an out of this world chocolate lava cake and my absolute favorite, the sweet potato cheese cake. Just wow. The wine list is extensive and the cocktails divine. Atlanta is known for its great food, but Fandangles surpassed any expectations... Tony was one of the best servers we have ever had. His attention to every detail, along with his warmth really added to the perfect evening. The restaurant and bar overlook an outdoor patio and pool which looks and feels like a French Quarter neighborhood. Live jazz is played Thursday evenings from 6:30-9:30. Perfect backdrop to any meal.

My friends and I were staying at the Sheraton for a convention and wound up eating here our first night because we were simply too lazy to wander around the city in search of food. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised by this place. I mean, it's called FANDANGLES (WTF? Sounds like something you should see a doctor for) and is located inside the Sheraton, so we weren't exactly expecting much. My Nicoise salad was honestly one of the best I have ever had. The salmon was fresh and delicious. And we were all jealous of my friend's corn chowder -- so good. One girl in our party got the Sweet Tea Chicken and said it was one of the best things she ate on the trip, which is saying a lot when you factor in how much good food we are. Considering the quality of the food, it was also reasonably affordable. And our server was so lovely. I wish I could remember her name! I wound up eating my last meal in Atlanta here, too -- if you can call it a meal. My friend and I ordered the Sweet Potato Cheesecake, and even though peach cobbler wasn't on the menu, the chef was sweet enough to MAKE IT FRESH for us just because we told him how disappointed we were that we hadn't had any good peach cobbler on our Georgia trip. Anyhow, if you're in the area and don't mind sitting in a semi-tacky hotel dining room, Fandangles is worth it!

Tater party of 1. Not a bad experience and certainly not the worst hotel-based restaurant I've dined at. Sat in the uncrowded bar area and had some nice conversations with some other hotel guests. Service was friendly but inattentive at times even though it didn't seem busy. At my servers insistence that this Cali girl needed to try some "real southern food", I started with the fried green tomatoes. While the stacked presentation was beautiful and the tomatoes were wonderfully juicy, they were overpowered by a heavy handed dollop of goat cheese. I'm a goat cheese fan but it's too strong to be used in excess as was the case here. I followed it up with the scallops and grits. I had been craving grits my whole trip but this didn't quite hit the spot. The scallops were very fresh and well seared but the plate was overwhelming huge for a dish so heavy and the smoky tomato sauce meant to add some uniqueness somehow added to the heaviness. Overall not a bad meal, but nothing hit home.

Staying at the hotel for a convention. Didn't feel like exploring so tried this place. I was expecting the usual high priced and elaborately named mediocre hotel food. Ordered the crab cakes and the truffle Mac and cheese. I was impressed both dishes more than lived up to the description on the menu. Prices are high but the food is great.

Excellent service and even better food! Wife had the short ribs - so juicy that the meat fell off the bone effortlessly. I had the beef tenderloin and was just as impressed. Make sure to have the spinach salad too. I'll be back on Thursday for the jazz.

What a wonderful place in Atlanta to go out to eat! The service and food was incredible. I had the seafood dish with rice, seared scallops, shrimp, lobster. My wife had the cauliflower augrautin which was the reason we came back....amazing! If you love Caesar salad this is one of the best we have ever had. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. The restaurant manager Tony came by and was very gracious and asked how our meal was. When he found out it was my and another friends birthday he gave us a special dessert. Couldn't have had a better night out with friends. Thank you Sheraton Atlanta!

Not sure how this place is on top of the Tripadvisor app. The food, service and atmosphere was not impressive. None of the wines are properly stored so they are all served at room temperature. In fact, our server had never heard of red wine being served at 58°! Crazy! The bacon wrapped shrimp was simply shrimp and bacon- boring. I had the chicken pot pie which was the best part of the meal, so if that's what you're after, order only that! I would never go back. There are too many other good choices in Atlanta!

It helps that the service was wonderful, Thank you Anthony! Great steaks I had the filet and my husband had the NY both very good and cooked perfectly. Anthony suggested local beers for us that we had never tried and described them perfectly! It was my husbands birthday and it was great!

Our waiter Tony was excellent. Very engaging, humorous and informative. We had the fried green tomatoes. They were excellent. You get 3 slices for 9$, which is a little steep in my opinion but at least it's good. Our party has various meals. The pull pork burger is really good. I had the daily special of grouper and scallops. It was cooked in a very southern cuisine style. Portions were generous and prices were very good for what you get. I would definitely return to Fandangles.

Jazz night ...saxy! Decided to eat here based on the tripadvisor reviews and rating. It did not disappoint. The initial contact with a greeter at the entrance was welcoming and a sign of things to come. He was charming, courteous and funny. Our waiter, Tony, was outstanding. He offered suggestions and was helpful and attentive without being overbearing. He even suggested seating us differently and it was perfect. He had a few one-liners that were great. One i will probably never forget and I'll pass it off as my own one day. You'll have to go and hope to get him as your waiter. The manager, Karim Sharif, was very pleasant and welcoming. He integrated himself without being a nuisance. We were not that hungry and decided to share an entree, a salad and an appetizer. Tony made sure to split the portions and give us each a dish so we didn't have to eat off one dish. It seems trivial but it was super helpful and thoughtful. We had the salmon with spinach and roasted potatoes. Amazing and flavorful. Kale quinoa salad. Delicious. Seared scallop appetizer was cooked to perfection. If i ever head back to ATL, I'll be going back. If you're on the fence, just go. Totally deserving of the rating. Oh ... if you're not staying at the hotel, they validate your parking! misbehave responsibly :)

We weren't feeling ambitious and wanted a place we could reach on foot. Tripadvisor led us here, and we enjoyed our meals. Service was friendly but lax and languid. It took us five minutes to be seated and another five to get menus. Beer glasses sat forlorn and empty for a bit. Setting feels like the hotel restaurant it is, but enough of the bad. We both thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was a nice modern and upscale twist on Southern fare. Though we didn't order steak, we were also pleased to see they dry-aged their beef. It's a good choice for food but the setting and service prevent it from being what it could be.

Loved this in-hotel restaurant. The food was great and the staff was exceptional. They kept bringing us out things to try that we didn't order including a feta cheese, watermelon, micro greens salad and a peach vodka drink. Great experience. Definitely will be returning next time we're in Atlanta.

Our sever Tony gave us awesome recommendations, the food was tasty (have to have the fried green tomatoes) and the service was spectacular from start to finish with Kwandi helping us get a table and Tony being our awesome server. I went here based on reviews here and it was within walking distance of my hotel. I looked at the reviews quite a bit and had Tony as a server. He lives up to his billing. Polite, competent, and helpful! Also based on reviews I tried the Fried Green Tomatoes(never had them before), and it was the best part of the meal. I followed up with the NY Strip steak with asparagus and onion rings. Local beer topped it off. The steak was neither the best nor worst that I've had, based on the $30 pricetag, but it was huge. The flavoring was very good. . The ambiance was very nice, and setting good. Recommend.

Horrible service. Waited an hour and 15 min for our food. Manager tells us he will take care of it, and knocks off a whopping $4 of our check of $80 for two adults and a kid. Asked him about this and he stood behind the discount. Unbelievably poor service and total apathy. Never ever will be back here. As far as the food, it was mediocre and not very warm.

My husband and I both had chicken pot pie which is usually a favorite of ours. This one was tasty but with a crust that was not flaky. Do not expect your mother's chicken pot pie. I think I threw the waiter off when he came with the bill and I asked for the dessert menu. It took about 30 minutes to finally receive our dessert which was very tasty by the way. The bottom line is the food was good but some of the wait staff had their favorite customers and tonight I was not one of them. Go with plenty of time and a fat wallet and you'll be very happy.

Nice, low key restaurant nestled on the third floor of the Sheraton Hotel, Downtown Atlanta. Reservations or walk in ok. hot bread and butter served while you wait which was very fresh and light, yet filling (so don't overdo it on the bread!). We had the fried green tomatoes and the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizers which were really good. Salmon entree and the jumbo shrimp linguini special were very tasty as well. Large portions so come hungry - I packed up half my meal. Nice wine list and full bar if you want to come, sit at the bar and nosh. You can also order entrees from the bar area. great customer service but waiter did leave us alone for quite a while and never asked us if we were interested in dessert. We ended up going to the cheesecake factory afterwards. Nice decor-great 70s music playing in the background. Prices were very reasonable. TVs all around playing the game (if you're interested-lol) Overall, a definite "you should try it" if you're in the area. Ranked #5 in Atlanta by Trip Advisor.

Amazing surprise during my Sheraton stay! Wow! Absolutely beautiful and atmospheric restaurant, the staff and service were top notch. The new menu, which I was told is on its second day, was very appealing and the spinach fettuccine with braised lamb was OUT OF THIS WORLD. The Sheraton Atlanta downtown is so not what I expected - it feels like another time. Fandangles overlooks an old school indoor/outdoor tropical pool atrium and you can sit inside or outside. It reminds me of the grand, older luxury cruise ships. Inside lighting is dusky and romantic and the table service is 5 star. Waiter "Fletcher" is an absolute pro. Ask for him if you go! So the house-made biscuit pre-dinner was moist, flavorful and exquisite; I was surprised with an amuse bouche of a locally sourced Gouda with fig preserve, herb, and a plum reduction. Wonderful! Extensive wine list as well. On future business trips to Atlanta I will try to stay at the Sheraton downtown because of this restaurant.

Went on a Saturday evening, the place was pretty empty, which worried me. The menu has many hotel-resteraunt standards on it that I think are there because they have to be. Skip that. The chef is great. Get the special, or ask your server what's great tonight. We opened with the fried-green-tomato Napoleon, which was clever and tasty. Then we took our awesome waiter's recommendation and had the special - Scottish salmon with lobster étouffée over gouda-grits. It was AMAZING. For dessert, even though we were full, we couldn't pass on the steamed lemon pudding with berries and creme fraiche ice cream. Also, yum! They are capable of really rocking the Southern Fusion concept, order that stuff. Like I said, the chef's got some great ideas. The staff were professional and attentive and really helpful and friendly. Morgan took care of our table, and he's excellent. Everyone else we encountered was also very nice. Right so - it's in a Sheraton. That might give you pause (it gave us pause). But we were happy we did it. I'll note we made reservations and that they were honored quickly.

This is not your typical hotel restaurant but a truly amazing dining experience. I was part of a conference housed in the hotel and was expecting the bland hotel food as we often experience. However, from the moment we set foot into the restaurant - it was wonderful. The manager/Maître D was an absolutely charming and professional gentleman who made everyone feel welcome and like a VIP. The servers were highly professional and fairly knowledgable about the menu and wines. The setting was gorgeous with comfortable and luxurious seating, the Christmas decorations also helped to set the mood. And then, there was the food- WOW! Every single dish we tried was brilliant and perfectly savory and well prepared. The shrimp and salmon choices in the starter menu were sublime. Even the simpler items on the menu such as the grown up grilled cheese and Caesar salad had their own twists which made them new and exciting to try. They also had a good gluten free and vegetarian menu available. The experience was so wonderful we never left the hotel and enjoyed dining there every night for three days, each time trying yet another delicious and well prepared meal. I really look forward to returning to Fandangles when I am back in Atlanta even if I am not staying at the Sheraton!

The grill cheese at this place is unlike anything I have ever experienced. It was like a party in my mouth for at least 20 minutes. The way that that basil blended so effortlessly with the multiple cheeses. Mmmm!

I gotta say, new digs are looking good. Who knew that the good ol' Sheraton had such a cool-looking dining space? Fandangles seems like a really cool place to throw a party. (And we looked into the courtyard down below, which also seems like a happening party scene. Granted, this was during DragonCon, and there *were* parties going on. But that has nothing to do with our experiences at this restaurant.) Fandangles is dark, comfortable, trendy. It would be easy to come in and relax over a meal. So since it was DragonCon, our drinks were "convention themed" for the event. I had a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, which left me completely sober if not several dollars lighter. My compatriots also didn't have much to say about their drinks. I guess when I hear "specialty drink," I want it to feel like I'm having my brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped around a large gold brick. It seems fair to note that the chaos of DragonCon would slow down service a bit. Yet staff here was able to keep everything under some semblance of control. And the food was reasonably good. The burger seemed right on par for a burger. The shrimp & grits seemed to satisfy. Everything was just nice and pleasant. I must say the chicken & dumplings were not what I expected. I read the description (lemon sage seared chicken breast, sweet potato gnocchi, wild mushrooms and sage sauce) and was still surprised by the sheer amount of pungent sage which (for me) overpowered this dish. Kapow! I had to remove all the fresh sage from this thing so I could enjoy the rest of the dish. It was a good dish, but the name "chicken & dumplings" simply left me with different expectations.

Seared scallops were delicious! Crab cakes were some of the best "off-coast" I've had. Definitely try the braised short ribs! Not standard "hotel-fare" & the service was great.

I was with my family looking for a place to eat in downtown ATL, craving southern food. Found this place on Yelp and was surprised that it was in the Sheraton....we were hesitant but as soon as we walked in the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming and we were a party of 10! They set up a table for us right away and the service was excellent from that point on, even for being a larger party. The restaurant faces a gorgeous indoor pool area with a sky light so it is really unique. The staff was attentive but not intrusive - we had a great time conversing and catching up over the creative cocktails and good selection of wines and beers. The food was surprisingly amazing - a great variety from truffle mac n cheese to crab cakes to duck confit pizza. Everything I tried was delicious, especially the special dish made with mushrooms and arugula from the local farmer's market - so creative, and the chef Jimmy Ellis came out after the meal to chat with our table and give us some of his background. The only dish I didn't like was the penne alla vodka - the vodka taste was too strong in the sauce. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for an affordable, personalized and gourmet experience instead of a tourist trap.

Quite expensive. Went in late night for some drinks, but ended up getting appetizers and dessert as well. Mixed drinks go for $8 or more. Drinks were good, but the service was quite slow. Our server was friendly, but a little forgetful with the waters we asked for twice. Fried green tomatoes and quesadilla were both tasty, but definitely overpriced. Was a little more disappointed with the dessert. Don't get me wrong, I thought it tasted good, but when I order pecan pie and peach cobbler in the south, I expect something that tastes a little more authentic. If you're staying in the Sheraton and trying to find something convenient, this may be a good spot for you. If not, then it's probably not worth the trip.

We made a 7:30 reservation. When we arrived, we were told it would be a thirty-minute wait for our table -- that they received "a lot of reservations". What? We decided to sit in the bar area because we were starving. We got menus that were half the size of the online version, so things we were thinking of getting, we couldn't get. We ended up getting the Grown Up Grilled Cheese, which was fine, but nothing special. It's a hotel restaurant, so I guess I should have known better, but it was pretty poor for even a hotel restaurant.

My husband and I had an amazing meal at Fandangles. We were celebrating our anniversary and they made us feel extra special. Our waiter was extremely attentive, knowledgeable of the wine menu and how to pair the wine with menu items we were considering. I ordered the sea scallops and my husband ordered the strip steak. Both were outstanding. Even the bread was great! Gotta love the poofs of softened butter to spread on your bread. The star of the meal however was the appetizer. We ordered the chicken wings. They were incredibly fresh juicy crunchy with a yummy honey glaze. Prob the best I have had in a long time! Manager greated us and thanked us for coming. It was overall a wonderful experience and meal.

I went to Fandangles after work for their Social Hour wine tasting (Tues-Thurs 5-7PM) and had no intentions of eating BUT was so glad I did!!' The chef's chicken & dumplings was beyond yummy!!! I'm definitely making Fandangles a regular after work spot!

Excellent service and even better food! Wife had the short ribs - so juicy that the meat fell off the bone effortlessly. I had the beef tenderloin and was just as impressed. Make sure to have the spinach salad too. I'll be back on Thursday for the jazz.

Loved this in-hotel restaurant. The food was great and the staff was exceptional. They kept bringing us out things to try that we didn't order including a feta cheese, watermelon, micro greens salad and a peach vodka drink. Great experience. Definitely will be returning next time we're in Atlanta.

Recommend.

Staying at the hotel for a convention. Didn't feel like exploring so tried this place. I was expecting the usual high priced and elaborately named mediocre hotel food. Was hesitant to try this restaurant due to the reviews but glad we did. Our sever Tony gave us awesome recommendations, the food was tasty (have to have the fried green tomatoes) and the service was spectacular from start to finish with Kwandi helping us get a table and Tony being our awesome server. We liked it so much we went two nights in a row!!!
