I'm upgrading my review here for good food and service today. Even though parking in this lot nearly beats out tooth pulling & rectal exams as one of my least favorite things to do in the world.

Well I haven't ordered from them in a while so I thought maybe the food got better? Nope, I've ordered sweet and sour chicken and General chicken lunch portions. Fried rice was a lazy soy sauce rice, it's very salty and not edible. The fried chicken was blackened or more like charred. If you going to charge customers money then at least you could do a quality check and see what kind of food is going out to the customers. This was the final draw for me, back to Chin Chin for me. And seriously when they said "Please pick one item, chicken wing or Soup or egg rolls" seriously" your direct competition is including soup and egg roll with every lunch ordered. ((( I DID NOT ORDER ONLINE WITH YELP )))

I find the food here to be excellent! I love the cashew chicken, sizzling rice soup and crab angles. The boyfriend likes the sa cha chicken. I haven't found better chicken quality than this restaurant. They only use white meat and it is tender and delicious! I've had great experiences with both pick-up and delivery. It is now the only place from which I order cashew chicken!!

So, what does one do when you are stuck in the office on a Friday with no lunch packed? Why - call for Chinese food of course! I remembered a menu that was slipped into our mailbox, called them and asked if they delivered to my office. The girl politely told me that they have 2 locations, and the other one was in my service area. She also said that everything was the same, down to the price. Well, I called the other place and ordered the happy family, wonton soup and a side of pan fried pot stickers so that I could meet their $10 delivery min. to my surprise, the total came out to be $13!! I asked her what the prices were because my calculations were only $9.75 (I wanted to make sure that tip was not already included so I wouldn't double tip). When I said that the happy family was $6.75, she laughed and said, oh no, you have an old menu! Hmm... well, ok, I'm hungry and you have food so whatever right? Well, the food came pretty quickly. The entree was... eh. It was adequate, nothing more nothing less. The fried rice that they give you is nothing but brown rice. There are no carrots, peas or anything in them. Not only that, but the amount of rice was more than double that of my entree. The wonton soup tasted weird to me, like a bitter after taste. The pot stickers came with this huge container of soy sauce for dipping. But when I opened it, this strong vinegar smell assaulted my nostrils and I had to flush this down the toilet because it literally stank up my office.

I ordered for delivery and my food was here within 30 minutes, even though the expected deliver time was 45-60 minutes (and I ordered from another zip code). I was very impressed with the service, and the food was delicious.

It's Saturday. I'm at work. The Boss buys us lunch every week since we're only open 10-5 and need to handle as many potential renters as possible. This week, he wanted Chinese. Now, I'd have preferred Grand China (next door to us) or Dragon D (LPWs that rock) or Lee's (they deliver and are close by, too). But he wanted Dragon Express. My last experience, albeit 3+ years ago, wasn't so super. As for today . . . Color me surprised! I didn't remember that I disliked their Moo Goo Gai Pan so much awhile back and picked that for today's repast. I asked for sauce on the side and all green veggies - they got the veggie part and no sauce right, though there wasn't any "white" sauce like I expect with MGGP. I went with some kind of well-seasoned, just salty enough light brown sauce (no clue what it's called, as I am very unelightened on any type of Asian cuisine). The meat and veggies were great and I didn't even mind that I (oddly) got brown rice. A huge serving so I have leftovers. Maybe this place is indeed hit-or-miss like others have noted, but today it was A-OK!

Stopped here for lunch! It was FAST, the cashier was friendly, and I loved the taste of the food. Very yummy! I heard the delivery service is poor, but I ordered and picked up and was quite pleased. I would go again.

Over priced, sub par food and the young lady that works there is not very nice. It's not the worst food but you can definitely find better in atlanta

I've only been here once but definitely going back. Hot and sour soup was bad... But the egg rolls and entrees are awesome. They use chunks of white meat chicken instead of the sketchy BS you find at some Chinese restaurants. Carry out service was quick.

Food arrived cold, service was rude. I recommend NOT ordering take out from Dragon Express. I placed an order and they told me it would be 45 minutes to deliver a half a mile. It took an hour and a half and the food was cold by the time it arrived. When I called the business to express my disappointment the manager didn't seem to care. He simply said, "Oh well, how about we get it to you faster next time." There won't be a next time. After I microwaved my food, it tasted mediocre at best.

This place has been open forever. It has no ambiance and it is in a strip shopping mall. I visited this restaurant frequently when I lived down the street years ago. I visited again last week before an evening appointment. I was pressed for time, so I asked how long it would take to make mu shoo vegetables. The cashier expedited my order and it was out in less than 10 minutes. My meal was delicious. There is a dining area in the restaurant, but you will still be eating out of plastic trays and using plastic utensils.

Ok for carry out but check the order before you leave. I ordered chicken & string bean. Got home to find all it was were string beans. No chicken! They subscribe to on line ordering yet don't always check those incoming orders. Prices too high for carry out

My office orders from here maybe once a month. So far I've tried both the veggie lo mein and the veggie fried rice. The lo mein was a little too peppery for my tastes. The fried rice was pretty good, though. A little extra soy sauce perked it up nicely. Their egg rolls are HUGE. I firmly believe in the "don't ask, don't tell" when it comes to egg rolls. They taste good, so I'll remain blissfully ignorant of what's actually in them. Overall, it's just fine. I've had better, but I've also had a lot worse. They also deliver pretty quickly considering how many people we're ordering for. I don't think we've ever had to wait more than about 45 minutes for them to show up bearing soy infused delights.

Not very consistent. Sometimes good, other times bad. Do not recommend the sesame chicken at all unless you like eating tasteless fried bread.

I was craving Chinese for lunch and I pass by Dragon Express all the time. So decided to pop in and get take out. I ordered Mongolian Chicken with Egg Drop Soup. Service was really fast and price was reasonable. Got home and unpacked my lunch and found the serving size is great for the price. Large cup of soup with a healthy portion of chicken and rice. As for taste, I couldn't get past the gelatinous consistency of the soup. It's like a big cup of sn..., well I don't want to gross people out, so just skip the egg drop soup. The Mongolian Chicken is really good. As a mentioned, good portion, nice sauce which wasn't too salty, chicken is tender and had good flavor. I will definitely go back again, but will be getting a different soup.

Beware*** Found Staple Gun Staple in my beef from this restaurant*** this could have puntured the colon or worse. Have notified Dekalb county board of health and restaurant inspectors. Dangerous situation.

Would be 5 stars but as of late the quality of food has gone down hill. This was my favorite place for lunch for the past three years. It seems like the flavor has been getting more bland every time I go. I hope it changes soon, otherwise I'll have to look elsewhere for my weekly fix. :( Edit: Chef change? maybe, I don't know, but bumped up a star because as of late its been a good experience, and the online ordering option is awesome!

Made for a good quick lunch. Was nicely surprised by the freshness of the food. Our group each ordered something different and all we pleased. Lunch comes with egg roll, chicken wings or soup. I had hot and sour. It was ok, not loaded with ingredients, but not over fish oiled either. My companions had chicken wings and egg rolls...their murmurs of appreciation I took as a good sign. One ate Chicken Lo Mein, I had Orange beef, and the other had a chicken and vegetable dish. So, a nice selection. This place is geared to take out. So even if you eat in, it's in take out containers.

I'd label this place as "typical Atlanta Chinese takeout". Have I had better? Yes (mostly in Chinatowns in places like Philly, LA, SF, and NYC). Is it best in town? No, I'm sure you could probably find better over on Buford Hwy. But why do I like this place? The combination of location, price, speed, and tastiness of the food. The online ordering is better than just about any other restaurant in the area. I like how their Hot & Sour soup actually has a bit of a peppery bite to it. Their wonton soup is perfectly ok. Nothing special, but fine if that's what you're in the mood for. So far, I've gotten their Lo Mein, their Kung Pao, General Tso Chicken, and Sesame Chicken. All typical, and decent. Certainly much better than some places like your fast casual mall food court type places like Panda Garden, for example. Would I go out of my way to come to this place? No. I'm only recommending it if you live nearby and want something fast cheap and tasty. I would recommend the food (i.e. American style Chinese) here over China Delight in Chamblee & Grand China in Buckhead. The ambience is horrible, but this is pretty much a Takeout only sort of place.

I used to get take out every week from here for over a year. The Genreal To Fu is really really good. The fried rice and the Lo Mein are also excellent. For a take out chinese place this one is great. It is very greasy and salty but in a guilty conscious way and not in a food poisoning way.

This is my go-to chinese take-out restaurant, although I must say I almost didn't give it another chance after the first time I went because I ordered the wrong thing. I think I ordered chicken and broccoli the first time it was too greasy for me. Next time I tried chicken amazing or something like that, and it is amazing and I get it every time and love it! Boyfriend orders mongolian beef which is also great!

I was in Atlanta and was hungry for some good food. Checked out yelp to see if there was anywhere near where I was that had some decent stars. I found this restaurant and went there. I wouldn't say I was disappointed, because I wasn't expecting much. Their food is so-so. They were very fast, and that is a plus.

oh i loved it! and I'm picky with my Chinese food. I've had the Chinese food in Hawaii, San Francisco, Boston and Singapore... i know good Chinese food and I have to say Dragon Express was far better than I expected for a takeout place in Atlanta. what i like the best was how fresh the food was. especially the rice. that's my true test on freshness...usually when you reheat Chinese food, the rice is stale the day you buy it, so reheating it makes it even harder and grainy. NOT so with Dragon Express... it was very clear when i ate my leftovers the next day that the they were serving fresh tasty Chinese food. yummy!!

i used to always say, 'why won't someone that owns a chinese restaurant get smart and make general tso's chicken from white meat that is semi-bite-sized so that i don't have to get grody bits of gristle in it? why? why???'...well, here comes dragon express to save the day! reliably good, and not gross pieces of chicken...sigh...i love it!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
