Very Grumpy Service and Bland Food I've had take-out from here and I have come here for meals on numerous occasions. Sadly, Chin Chin at Howell Mill has turned into a disappointing experience for me. I sure hope they will wake-up and turn things around as Midtown West is exploding around them and they need to step it up. Recently, the Hot and Sour Seafood Soup that I ordered for take-out was white and devoid of heat. The edamame wasn't fresh at all. The food is rather bland and usually requires a good dousing of chili sauce or soy sauce. I will give them 2 stars instead of 1 star as their meat quality is pretty decent. The server on my recent visit was absolutely horrible. He frowned the whole time and acted jerky. No smile or expression at all. He didn't check on us and totally messed up our bill without the slightest apology. If this grumpy guy is the owner, then he should never be in front of customers. I don't expect someone to kiss my a$$, but this guy didn't even greet us at the table. He just dropped the dry noodles on the table without even looking at us and he only stopped to say "What do you want to order?" as if it was a demand. Our bill was totally messed up and he seemed annoyed that we brought it to his attention. The location also needs an outside facelift. The outside of this location looks very seedy with blacked out windows against brick, although the inside is very nice. Suggestions: -Use friendly servers...don't use that grumpy guy -Don't curb the spice level to bland -Add some pizazz to the outside of the restaurant

Awful- Kung pao tofu tasted like wax paper and the shrimp and rice was tasteless- this place is in sketchy shopping center- food is horrible- stay away

3.5 stars. We dropped by here to grab dinner on a whim on a weekday night. The place wasn't too busy and service was pretty standard and efficient. Chin Chin offers both Japanese and Chinese cuisine. Since I got the impression that they specialize more in Chinese food, I went with that and ordered the garlic eggplant. The order came with an ample amount of rice (white or fried, your choice). I enjoyed my order. The eggplant was soft and tender, and covered with a sweet, tangy glaze. Portion size was pretty decent for dinner, so I had some leftovers. Not a bad choice if you're looking for comfortable, solid, Chinese food.

I am a frequent patron of this location. I find the food to be very good and the staff is friendly and eager to serve their diners. I tend to eat lunch because you get a lot more food for about half the price. At night the prices increase and only include your main entrée. At lunch, you can select from a diverse menu, including the lunch special section which includes a soup, veggie roll and entrée for one very fair price. Parking is easy, too. It does get busy for lunch MON - FRI with local business professionals dining.

It's in a not so desirable parking lot, but I figured I'd give it a try. There always seemed to be a fire truck sitting nearby, so why not, right? It was after lunch when I ventured out. I was seated promptly. Drink ordered and received. Food ordered with a request for extra spicy. The drink-refiller-guy was always topping my drink off. The crab ragoon were small and flavorless. The szechuan beef came out with strips of beef. Rather unique, but not bad. Rice was rice. Overall, not a bad experience. They seems to do take-out and delivery. It is what it was.

Came for lunch in search for Sushi after doing some food shopping. So glad I did! Great portion of Sushi. The price was a little high, and the Miso soup was not very traditional, but overall a good place. Also, the decor inside is very beautiful and the service was excellent despite going at lunchtime.

This is definitely your higher end Chinese spot. I've never had bad food here and the sushi is actually realy good! The place is cute, though a little dark when you go in the evening. I agree that the menus were dirty though, and our server was a little odd. It was like he really didn't want to be there and was irritated that I was asking questions. If you're not into "iffy" sit-down experiences, you might wanna go with the take-out option.

Relatively solid, dependable random 'I want some take-out/not sure what/don't mind some Chinese' kind of place. Fantastic prices and portion size. Unremarkable ambiance but not desultory either, but then again, I wouldn't imagine that is the reason you are thinking of heading to this particular establishment. Friendly service and most dishes are consistently tasty. Did I mention that the prices are great?

This place is suspect on the outside sine it is between a Kroger and a Wal-Mart. However, inside is actually quite nice except for the condition of the booth tables. The decor is very loft-like and modern. The Mongolian beef was fantastic. A little greasy, but nice flavor. The fried rice is pretty ordinary akin with the egg rills, but at $7 it's a great lunch option. They also serve lunch specials on the weekends too.

The flavors are pretty good, and luckily no mystery meat here (my biggest fear when finding new chinese places). However, it's definitely anglicized versions of everything, with sauces being sweeter and whatnot. Definitely give it a try, you won't have a bad meal, but I've had better meals at other chinese places.

My husband and I came here on a whim for lunch and were really hesitant because the outside looks so dingy and run down. However we were shocked at the decor and ambiance when we walked in. It's quite modern and nicely done on the inside. We were seated immediately and within 30 seconds had waters and some crunchy snack things on the table. We ordered the crab Rangoon's first and wow, they were amazing! We then got the hot and sour soup which was also delicious. I had the super crunchy roll and my husband had the generals chicken. Both were delicious and we had attentive and fast service. Also the lunch special is an amazing price. We will definitely be back here for sure! We are thrilled to hear they deliver as well since we live down the street. Really impressed that both the sushi and Chinese was so good. A win win!

I went hear faithfully when I lived off of Howell Mill road. I went there so much that when I walked in the manager would go to the back to order my favorite sushi rolls. I never had to wait. I love these guys. I'm determined to get back over there some time soon. In my book, they have the best Spicy Tuna Rolls in town.

The best Chinese food I've had in Atlanta. I don't eat it often, but the next time I do, I am going back to Chin Chin. The General's Chicken was outstanding.

I've tried Chin Chin a few times. With each time, I' try something new hoping to find that one dish that the restaurant does really well. I GIVE UP!! The only advice I can offer is to go for lunch time and order a special, because the dinner offerings are way overpriced. The flavors of everything i've tried are bland..., from the fried rice, to the chicken, seafood and beef dishes as well as the soups and egg rolls. All accross the board.. just BLEH. I struggle to understand how this has been rated the "best chinese" in atlanta. If thats true then clearly Atlanta just doesnt have a clue. In my opinion the dishes here taste no better or worse than what you'll find at your average mall food court. Not that thats bad, but certainly not what one would expect from a GOOD chinese restaurant or the prices that chin-chin charges.

So it was a cold lonely night......I was all alone.....searching far and wide for something delightful to eat......Then out of nowhere appeared Chin Chin on yelp....i read all the reviews and decided I should run and grab some takeout......i drove the down the dark dreary road (howell mill)...and finally came upon the restaurant.....I walked inside and was oddly surprised by the elegeant look of the chinese place. I had called in my order won ton soup and the steamed potstickers. I walked over to the counter and the guy gave me my food. I drove back home down the dreary road (howell mill) to the ghettos of where I live. I anxiously opened my bag to see my "delightful" surprises. I sipped the soup....and just as everyone had said...it was wonderful.....just the right mixture inside the neatly wrapped wontons.....then on to the potstickers......I grabbed one and dipped it into the sauce and mmmmhhhhh it was good too. I went to bed very satisfied that night. I will definitely go back again and order the won ton soup and potstickers. They have very fast service. They told me my order would be ready in 5 mins!

A co-worker suggested Chin Chin for lunch one day, and as an avid Chinese fan, I was eager to try a new place. Since moving to Atlanta 3 years ago, I have had a hard time finding a consistently good and authentic Chinese restaurant. I'd like to note that I'm not expecting or looking for gourmet Chinese. I simply want a good go-to authentic place when I have a craving for some of the classic Chinese dishes. Based on the quality of other restaurants I have tried, my expectations for Chin Chin were pretty low, however Chin Chin was able to blow those expectations out of the water. I ordered the General Tso's Chicken with steamed rice. I have ordered the same dish from other restaurants and been disappointed with all dark-meat chicken covered in soy sauce and some peppers. Chin Chin's dish was made with only white-meat chicken (which I prefer), and was full of flavor - just enough spice, and a sauce that consisted of more than just generic soy sauce. I have ordered the same dish since, and was just as satisfied with the quality as the first time. I think I may have finally found my go in-town Chinese place.

They served my beef and broccoli with SPOILED BEEF. Then the older Asian gentleman who normally stands at the front booth (presumably a manager or owner) proceeded to tell me, without even smelling or testing the product, that they had not served me spoiled beef because they "don't make mistakes" and then he insinuated that I had concocted the entire story simply because I didn't want to pay (even though I'd already paid over the phone since the order was take out). After some debating back and forth he finally agreed to refund my money and then asked that I never return to the restaurant. As if I ever would! My suggestion is DON'T GO! If the food doesn't make you sick, the lack of respect for customers certainly will.

chin chin was the first chinese restaurant i patroned when i moved to atlanta this summer. i ordered the tofu panang. the sauce was kind of weird, and the veggies were also - well, odd. however, i tasted my mom and auntie's dishes, and theirs were yummm. i've been several times since i've been here, since it is right up the street from my place. every time i go in, the service is fast and friendly. i went today, after being cooped up in the house for three days ("bad weather"), and ordered sweet and sour chicken lunch special. won ton soup is yummy! egg rolls could be better, but i'm not a fan of egg rolls anyway. the sauce used for sweet/sour dishes is yellow mango sauce, so it is a bit more tart than i am used to, and not a typical orange sauce. however, all in all, i like their food, but more so i like their customer service. for this, i will continue to do business there.

Just another egg roll stop on the train of mundane, unimaginative just so-so Chinese, Japanese, Thai ....You name the Pac Rim cuisine standard fair in Atlanta.

  • Rick F.

Not a fan! Service was weird, waiter was useless and owner was disinterested in what was going on in the restaurant. Place was icky! Menus were dirty, tables sticky. And of course if that was not reason to leave, we stayed and ended up ordering food. Which confirmed that this place needs to revamp everything from the ground up! The food was just plain bad! I get concerned when a place tries to be everything from Chinese to Thai and sushi then end up not doing anything well. Save your hard earned money and go elsewhere.

I am a Chinese food snob. And all lo mean is not created equal. That said, I really like this place. For a long time all I would have is shrimp fried ride or chicken and broccoli. But recently I tried something new--the egg foo young. Damn, I wanted to bathe in that gravy! Everything here minus the egg rolls are delish!

Our family has been ordering Chin Chin for years, and it never gets old. Even "Grandma" (who was born in, and lived in South Korea for much of her life) loves it! Whenever she comes, to Chin Chin we go. One of the things we love is how FAST the service is. If you're starving, you can come here and know that you'll be getting your food in less than 15 minutes. They bring out soup almost immediately. The staff if extremely friendly and the restaurant very clean. The lunch special is the best deal. Each person orders an entree and soup for less than $10. I always get the House Lo Mein, Fried Rice, and Wanton Soup, which is about $7, I think. Portions are HUGE: The entree and rice alone can feed two people, maybe three so it's great to take home leftovers. (These warm over VERY well in the microwave!) Everything is fresh-tasting and well made. Servers come a frequently re-fill your beverage glasses throughout the meal. Afterwards, they will pack up your leftovers for you into Chinese takeout boxes and bring you Fortune Cookies with your check. And I haven't even gotten into the home-delivery. It's fantastic. Very quick and they have great accuracy with orders. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Quick and kind service! I urge you to try it!

We order from Chin Chin on Ponce quite a bit since they're close and I frequent the Howell Mill location because it's close to work. I'm giving it two stars and not the four (yes four, because the food has been a solid for me) I was going to give due to my experience during lunch today. First, you must realize that Chin Chin is not in any way, shape or form gourmet food but it is always a solid bet as far as I'm concerned. I have never had a complaint about any of the food I've ordered from them. However, their customer service is lacking. Today, I ordered the spicy tuna maki for $8.50. It did not come with anything. No soup, nothing. After I placed my order I remembered seeing a lunch special for five pieces of nigiri and a California roll so I was wondering about it and called my server over to inquire about the nigiri. Admittedly I am not a sushi connoisseur so I really don't know that much about it and thought it best to ask just exactly what nigiri is, but my server had other plans. When I asked he said it was a special where you can get either five or seven pieces plus the California roll. Ok. I have that part of it but what is nigiri? "Fish" was the response. OK. I have that part of it, too, but what IS nigiri? Is it a different kind of fish? Raw fish? Half cooked fish? I give up at this point because I guess all I'm going to get is "Fish" for the answer which isn't completely incorrect so maybe there was something lost in translation. *shrug*. So I asked if I could change my original order from the spicy tuna maki to the nigiri lunch special and he said, "too late." Ummm ok? I would have paid for the food I already ordered but to not inquire further was lacking on his part. So I ate my $8.50 spicy tuna maki roll and drank my $1.50 sweet tea and left. What a blah experience for my first day back to work after a long holiday weekend. Blah, Chin Chin, just blah. As others have pointed out, their pricing can be a bit high.

I wanted something quick and easy for dinner very soon after this place opened. We live in the neighborhood, so I thought, "new chinese place in a strip mall? really? ... worst case scenario I'll order some fried rice". I was absolutely blown away. My wife and I were greeted with formally dressed waiter with a bow tie and a silver tray, seated us at a fully set table with candles and cloth napkins/tablecloths... I was wearing a pair of old cargo shorts and a ripped t-shirt, boy did I feel out place. On top of the top notch service (we were usually the only people there though), the food is always absolutely wonderful, and this was pretty much the only chinese place we ate at when we lived in Atlanta.

The food here was definitely a step above your average Chinese restaurant. I had the Massaman Curry, an order of fried noodles with chicken, and my wife had the mu shu chicken. All were excellent. I thought the prices were reasonable, though they do not include soup like most Chinese places. I was willing to overlook that as I ordered enough food to ensure my wife and I had leftovers for the next day. We both left there stuffed with enough food for tomorrow's lunch. This will definitely be our new Chinese go-to place since its close to home. An added bonus, they deliver!

We finally decided to eat in house, wanting Asian food without the drive to any of the places we would normally go. We got the steamed dumplings with spicy dipping sauce - good combination of sweet and spicy! The hot and sour soup was good, but a little too sweet for my taste - I prefer it really spicy. Jimmy got the red curry pork, and it was delicious. I particularly like the texture of the small pork pieces, pepper, and cabbage, which I know is not extraordinary, but I hadn't encountered this combination before. I got the three cup chicken, and while it was not bad, I didn't like it as much as the red curry pork. As usual, we had leftovers, so I tried the three cup chicken the following day for lunch. Definitely not good reheated... very dry. Good combination of veggies, but didn't hold up with time and microwaving. The red curry pork, on the other hand, was delicious when reheated, particularly since it made the bell peppers soft and juicy. A week later, we were both coming down with colds, and needed some spice to really clear out the sinuses. So we got take out, not wanting to infect our neighbors. Again, the red curry pork, and this time the spicy basil shrimp. Basil shrimp just didn't stack up against it. Something about the texture of the shrimp just wasn't right. Also, the sauce for the basil shrimp wasn't that spicy, even when I asked to make it spicy. But the red curry pork was still excellent. And the portions for take-out are so generous that it will feed you for a least three meals!

bored. too lazy to go anywhere. raining. Chin Chin it is! I've never ordered delivery from Chin Chin before and I have to say, it was pretty good. I kept it simple...too afraid that I wasn't going to like it. I ordered the General Tso's chicken and veggie eggrolls. I definitely enjoyed! the portions were huge and I had more than enough leftover for lunch the next day. The delivery man was really nice and my food was delivered a few minutes earlier than what they quoted me..even better. will def order from Chin Chin again!

Great food, but a bit over priced. The lunch menu is definitely the way to go. Not the best place for sushi...

Good food, although a little heavy on the soy and fish sauce on the sauces. Very quick delivery. Reasonable prices for lunch. I got the Seafood Hot & Sour soup for 2 and it was excellent. I did add some pepper to it, but other than that it was right on. Big chunks of scallops, real crab, and shrimp in a white hot and sour soup. The standard "chinese" items are great. I'll have to try the sushi the next time I order.

The prices are a bit higher than your neighborhood Chinese restaurant but the quality is suburb. The food is so fresh tasting and the serving sizes are just right - I ate just enough to feel satisfied and didn't have to worry about bringing home leftovers. This place tries to be chic, but it seems a bit empty and lacks decorative details to make anything stand out. It also lacks any warmth and the chairs a bit stiff. They have everything you normally get at a Chinese restaurant. I suggest order you favorite and then see how it compares to take out and judge yourself whether its worth the extra few dollars.

Went here after a dance class when I had a craving for some Chinese food! We tend to like the Chin Chin's simply because we have found them to be a step above your normal Chinese restaurant. We decided recently that we would share most of our dinners to a) save on money and b) save our waistlines. We opted to go for the Tangerine Beef in Brown Sauce as our entree and some beef curry rolls as our appetizers. The Beef Curry rolls were nice and crispy and had just enough curry to please and not overwhelm your palate. The tangerine beef was done just right with nice big pieces of beef and a tangy sauce. It was cooked just right with enough crunch on the breading, some candied orange peel in the mix and some fresh oranges on the bottom of the plate. We have been to 3 Chin Chin's now and we liked all three very much. We luckily found one close to her apartment so now we can get our Chin Chin fix whenever we want now but that still doesn't dampen our enthusiasm to try new ones we find!

Ok, when I think of Chin Chin, I think of them as my go-to, too lazy to go out, sweatpants wearing, delivery vice of choice. But not all Chin Chins are created equal. In the Howell Mill area, and hunger pains strike - so take out works. If someone blindfolded me and dropped me inside here, I would never guess it was a Chin Chin - the interior is quite nice, with all dark woods, crazy modern light fixtures and date-worthy dim lighting. Just discovered a recent fascination with rice noodles, and the Singapore rice noodles, which has curry flavored chicken & shrimp, were just what I needed - the dish had a nice light flavor and taste.

My boyfriend and I ordered delivery from here last week and I was dissapointed. We're big fans of the Brookhaven chin chin and this is the place we order from when we want the tasiest chinese...his teriyaki chicken was NOT teriyaki...devoid of any type of sauce, or flavor for that matter. My cashew chicken was very bland as well, and my fried rice lacked any kind of vegetables, fried egg, or seasoning that usually accompanies traditional chinese fried rice...I wouldn't order from this one again, which stinks b/c we order chinese about once a week!

This place is very yum-o! For lunch, my boss and I usually go here to fill our bellies on their fairly reasonable, but very tasty lunch specials. They have a varied array of Chinese cuisine and even sushi, although I have yet to try their sushi selection. For those who may want to dine at home Chin Chin at Howell Mill has a take out and catering menu! This place has been remodeled, and the inside is VERY nice. The waiters seem to be on their A game always, which is always good. A big plus for them, they have a non spicy version of my favorite, General Tso's Chicken!

I have eaten here 3 times recently for lunch because it is near work, note its next to the lovely La Parilla. Sometimes you just gotta have chinese. The first time I had a hankerin for Egg Foo Yung, and that was my best meal. It was expensive because it is not on the lunch menu but when ya gotta have it..... It didnt come with that really great sauce that I remember from my youth. The next 2 times I ordered from the lunch menu and both times it just wasnt good enough to justify coming here. I dont know where else to go, frankly, for a chinese craving near work, my collegue goes to Canton Chopsticks but I cannot get past the fear.

This is the Chinese restaurant against which I measure all other Chinese restaurants...I've never had anything less than awesome here. They always deliver very quickly...AND they make me feel special because I can call and say, "the usual" and they know what I want....(and they have caller ID which pulls up your last order and tells them what you're "usual" is...) But it still makes me feel ELITE. Oh Chin Chin how I do miss thee now that I have moved out of your delivery area...but I'll visit your actual restaurant as much as I possibly can. Watch the chain curtain on the way to the bathroom, though...that thing will seriously take you down if you're not ready for it.

The food was sub-par, and many items that are the usual fare at Chinese restaurants weren't present on their menu. The prices were also a bit steep. The setting is much nicer than your average Chinese place, but it's generally quite empty.

My mom and I stopped here for the first time last weekend. The service was fantastic and we never waited for a refill on water. Food was delicious and came quickly. We started with tiger and spicy tuna rolls. The tiger roll was better than the standard shrimp tempura roll with a little fish on top and a little spicy mayo. I was pleasantly surprised by the spicy tuna since it's not my norm. We ordered the shrimp fried rice and I've never seen so much shrimp in fried rice before - usually at most places you don't get a shrimp with every bite. This is definitely a new favorite of ours.

Thank you, Mish! I was looking at the Chin Chin reviews and thinking about trying the snap pea chicken - an adventurous choice for me. So when I saw her mention how yummy it was, I decided to go for it. Love! My new go-to, at least til I decide to keep expanding my tastes. Their Mongolian beef is good; not overly saucy, and with lots of green onion. Not a big fan of their fried rice - quite greasy. OK steamed potstickers if on the bland and slightly too chewy side. That snap pea chicken is delicious with plenty of sauce and peas, with slices of carrots thrown in. Great leftover, too. They will quote you 45 min or an hour for delivery but get to you in about 20. Thumbs up for the delivery spot closest to me.

Wonderful service! This restaurant will have our business until the day they close (or in the unlikely event we move). They are so professional when we call. They pull up our account just with our phone number and are happy to accept our business. The delivery driver is so kind and always greets us with a smile. Should you desire quality Chinese food delivered quickly and professionally, go for Chin Chin! They are worth the couple extra bucks in price.

Came here on Christmas day on a whim and was very pleased with the service. As always, Chinese restaurants are super busy and jam packed on Christmas but I called in for a reservation and they actually seated us on time. That alone deserved the 5th star. The food is decent. Portion size is pretty good. One entrée can definitely serve 2 people easily. Their steamed white rice was solid and the service here was stellar. We ordered 2 chicken dishes that weren't too flavorful but that was on purpose so it hit the spot and there was plenty left over for the next day. Their crab rangoons and pot stickers were great picks for appetizers. Their "duck sauce" is legit and I really liked their hot tea. It comes in white ceramic tea pot and tastes great. It's not Oolong but definitely great with my meal. Our server was super patient with us and extremely accommodating. I appreciated her "service with a smile" attitude and took care of the water refills and extra napkin requests that were thrown her way. The neat part about this restaurant is that the décor is "non-Asian" and very modern. It was the first thing that caught my attention when I first walked in. They also have a sushi bar and serves sushi all week long. We didn't try it but it seems to be a huge it, regardless. They are located at the end of a shopping center off of Howell Mill Rd and plenty of parking is available out front. If I'm ever in the West Midtown area and craving Chinese, I'll be sure to return and pay a visit.

The best Chinese food in west midtown! Everything is always fresh and tasty. We dined in for the first time and was just as pleased as we are when we order take out. We always get the fried rice and it has never failed us!

We stopped by Chin Chin in hopes of finding our go - to Chinese takeout, but between the price and the overall taste. Don't think it's going to happen. We ordered the General Tso's chicken that only comes with white rice. No other rice options (like pork, shrimp, brown, etc) and it didn't really come with any veggies and it was over $11. And it claimed it was spicy...not even close to spicy. And it was smoky. Like there was liquid smoke or maybe the oil it was fried in had other burnt food in it...I don't know. Also, ordered broccoli with garlic sauce that comes with white rice. It was over $8......And I only got because there weren't any other veggie sides that were cheaper. Then ordered some sushi. Husband says it's fine. Not the best he's ever had and that was expensive. I mean, I loved the service. SUPER friendly. All in all, not bad. But, not amazing. Too expensive for what it is...

I wanted to post an update to my rating..I called and talked to the manager about the service that I encountered. He was very understanding and told me to come back for lunch on him and give them another chance to provide good service and food.I went yesterday and I will say food was quick and rather tasty as well.Chin Chin you have won me back to your restaurant. This is how you take care if customers concerns.

Really, it was all typical take out Chinese. Fast service, standard prices, and so on. We got General Tso's chicken, chiken low mein, pork pan fried noodles, wonton soup, and spring rolls. All of it was pretty good, no big complaints, but I didn't understand what the pan fried noodles were. When I got home with my take out, I was surprised to see this disc of crunchy noodles with a tupperware of saucy pork to go with it. I know it's just ignorance on my part, but it was pretty funny trying to figure out how to eat it! We did notice that the plain rice we got with the General Tso's chicken was not short grain rice or sushi rice. I haven't tried any of their sushi, but I'm curious if this is the same rice they use for their sushi...

I feel like not enough people know about this place. The food is amazing! They serve everything in shareable portions (one plate can easily feed two people). The people there are super nice and funny.

Only giving this place one star so that I can say what I need! HORRIBLE SERVICE! I'm visiting from Detroit and had a taste for some good ole' Chinese Food. I came to get a sweet & sour chick combo but was quickly told "NO" to all the add-ons I wanted. I asked for extra egg in my fried rice and was told "no. Store policy" the end...no accommodation whatsoever. So, after explaining how I thought the cashier was being rude and un-accommodating, she called me racist. Lol. Enough said. I'm a racist for wanting polite service. Don't waste your time, or energy. Try Canton instead, only a few miles away, and much more friendly.

This is my go to Chinese restaurant. They're always so fast and I love that in a delivery restaurant!

This restaurant has good things going for it: good portions, good prices, good food. I always order take-out and the food is ready fast. I'll put in my order, go pick up a few items at Kroger, and it's ready for me when I go back. The only food they make that I do not really care for is their sushi. I stick to the Chinese dishes. My go-to items are the spicy garlic eggplant & kung pao tofu. Vegetarians, you can substitute meat for tofu in just about any of their dishes.

Not really great. The fried rice was good, but that's expected. I got sweet sour chicken and it was very bland and the chicken was grossly huge. I did like that the chicken had a lot of sauce, as I like to put it on my rice. Other than that it was so not worth the price.

Chin Chin is kind of your typical Americanized Chinese restaurant. The lunch special is where it's at. For $6-8 you can get your choice of soup, egg roll, and pretty large plate of food. I usually get scallion beef/Mongolian beef. My only complaint was that normally the meat is usually slightly caramelized, and it wasn't here. Caramelization just gives it some extra texture and flavor. This was likely just due to them being busy though. The interior is nice and service is good. They're actually surprisingly fast during lunch, even though it's pretty busy.

Decent service. Good food. Great veggie and shrimp fried rice. Big crunchy vegetables. Lots of big shrimp. I have my go to menu items that never disappoint.

Typical Chinese food take out. Food could be more flavorful. Service when you choose to dine in could be faster as well. But it is not bad and allows for dining in at real tables.

I ordered the beef lo mein for delivery at 1:43 and it arrived at 1:56! Fastest delivery I ever got. Their lo meins comes with alot of meat which I like. The fried rice is a bit dry though

One of my favorite Chinese places. I like the Kung pao chicken and chicken with green beans. Great food and great service. Oh and the hot and sour soup is awesome.

I am pleasantly surprised with my experience at Chin Chin! The inside is very clean and nicely decorated. Service was very good! I chose the Walnut Shrimp, which was delicious. The walnuts are roasted and have a sweet taste. When mixed in with the shrimp, which were plentiful, created a solid dish. My sweetie chose the Tangerine Beef, which was also good. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. We ate for under $30.

Lazy and didn't want to cook so I ordered Chin Chin. I've had food here several times and only had a problem once when I found hair in my Shrimp Egg Foo Young. Today I ordered the House Fried Rice, 6pc Braised Wings...and thought I would try the 4pc Thai Fried "Jumbo" Shrimp. OMG!!! Well the only thing jumbo is the thick egg roll type crust wrapped around the tiny shrimp. I learned my lesson and will only stick to ordering what I'm familiar with. Other than that the place is decent...nothing to rave about.

I still haven't found a good go to Chinese place. Had a friend near here and after a certain hour there aren't many choices for food. [even though the Mexican place over here seems pretty popular]. Got the pot stickers to start and the Lo Mein. Nothing really blew me away and it didn't make me sick either. So/so as far as Chinese food goes.

I've been to a few Chin Chin locations, and I understand although they have the same name...they are definitely different in food quality, staff, price. I visited this location twice and both attempts were failures. The people who work at the entrance (take out) are plain rude . Absolutely no customer service and very unfriendly. I can't vouch for the servers since my experience at the door was so poor I refused to go back let alone to eat in.

My co-workers and I placed an order for delivery at 12:15pm and at 2:00pm FINALLY got our food. After 2 phone calls placed inquiring about our order, we finally got it. Never ordering from here Again

This location is by far the best of the Chin Chin resturants, and the $10 lunch box can not be beat!

Great place. Never a line and always hot and fresh. We live in collier hills and this is our go-to spot for near-by quality Chinese.

Very bad customer service.. very very rude.... I will NEVER go there again.... food has gone downhill anyway...Maybe thats why its always empty these days... And the woman who answers the phone to take the orders is always Rude .... the food is much too oily now....And when the customer service goes, the restaurant goes! And for the record, the woman should NEVER answer the phone.... shes chasing customers away being rude!!! I'll NEVER spend, another dime here and no one should. ...

The mu shu pork was the best we've had since moving from San Francisco!! Finding authentic Asian food in the South is a stretch at best. We make a point of detouring off I-85 to Chin Chin every time we drive thru Atlanta. Be sure you get the right Chin Chin since it is obviously a popular name but you want to be sure you go to the one on Howell Mill Road.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Don't care about anything except themselves. Ordered Mongolian Beef. When food came it had 2 pieces beef and an entire container full of chopped onions. Showed the driver but he could not speak English. Then the location refused to make me a real meal. Waste of money when there's better Chinese in the area to eat. Why get poorly treated when you're the one paying?

Chin-Chin has been my favorite Chinese spot in Atlanta for a long time. I don't experiment much beyond the General Tso and chicken wings, but everyone I ever eat here with raves about their other dishes.

This place is our go-to place for good trusty Americanized Chinese food. We've tried dine in, take out, and delivery, and have always been satisfied with the results. My staples include chicken broccoli, Mongolian beef, and chicken lo mein. Their portions are good and they look and taste fresh always. Tonight, i decided to try their spring rolls because i was craving something fried and i noticed that theirs included black mushrooms (my favorite Chinese vegetable), shrimp, pork, and cabbage. WOW! They were THE best spring rolls I've ever had. Again, SUPER fresh tasting and they did not skimp on their ingredients. There was a perfect blend of everything, which made every bite as delicious as the last. They also have some Japanese selections, mostly sushi and rolls. Although I have not tried them, my bf has and he seems to like them. Oh and he eats non-raw sushi rolls only, so I can't comment on the raw fish choices. The restaurant decor is not your typical Chinese restaurant decor. It's modern and stylish. It's got a mix of booths and tables and a sushi bar. I've dined there once and thought it felt cozy and romantic with the dimmed lighting and pleasant ambiance. The delivery service is fast and they package the food very well. The person taking phone orders and the delivery guys are always super friendly. Food is always delivered within 30 minutes. This is refreshing because the last delivery place I used had terrible service. I will say that this is not the place to get authentic Chinese food. But it's the place to go to for those nights when you just want some good ole comfort Chinese food. It's fresh, delicious, and consistent. Double thumbs up!

This place is our staple for delivery Chinese food. Their delivery for the most part is very fast. When you go in for pick up they are always fast. On their starters, the scallion pancakes are my favorite. Most places did not have that. They could stand for improvement on their crab rangoon. It is more cream cheese rangoon than anything. For the most part I order the sesame chicken without broccoli with white rice. It's my favorite thing on the menu. My boyfriend tried for the first time the sweet and sour mango chicken with the sauce on the side and thoroughly enjoyed his choice. I tried it and it was very delicious. I don't think this place has ever screwed up our order even when we get things special. Definitely recommend it for quick and easy Chinese food!

We ordered delivery from Chin Chin. We ordered without looking at a menu, so we were grateful when our friendly order taker? suggested the lunch special! Won-ton soup, egg-roll, rice, and your preferred main dish. We ordered General Tso's and Sesame Chicken. Each $7! One lunch special was enough for two meals for me and boyfriend had a meal and a snack...so you defiantly get your money's worth! They were speedy with delivery and friendly. It's lovely reliable Americanized Chinese food.

My boyfriend and I come here every once in a while when we don't feel like cooking. As another reviewer said, it is trustworthy Chinese food :) We always get the Mongolian Chicken (which comes with a side of rice), and it is enough for the two of us to split. I like that there isn't any scary meat and the vegetables are crisp and fresh (they haven't been sitting there all day). Sometimes they give us a lot of chicken, but other times it's more vegetables. We tried hot and sour soup one time, but it wasn't very good. It was too thick and not quite the right flavor for me. We have never dined in, but it has a nice seating place inside. I'm pretty sure they deliver, but we always call ahead and pick it up. There are always other people waiting for pick up deliveries, as well, but they are pretty fast!

Imo- this is the best Chinese food in Atlanta, hands down. Grade A white meat chicken and you can get fried rice(instead of white rice) with your food for no extra charge. Not expensive at all & they're also open pretty late. Why go anywhere else? Why?

Chin Chin is our go-to chinese place in Atlanta. It's close to our house, they deliver fast, and if we want to dine in, they have a great restaurant inside. It's located in the Kroger shopping center, but looks are deceiving. The inside of the restaurant is really nice! The staff is great, too. I've never had bad service, whether we are dining in, taking out, or ordering delivery. This is not a 5 star, white napkin, authentic Chinese restaurant. It's Americanized Chinese food restaurant that has fast service, relatively cheap prices and tasty food. My favorite dish is the hot and sour soup. It is perfect for a cold day or when you are sick. I like to pair that with the steamed pot stickers as a meal. Lunch specials = bomb! The price can't be beat. When I want Americanized Chinese food, this is the place. Sesame Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Lo Mein, you name it they have it and it's delish. If you have a chance, dine in!

I did a take out from here a few weeks back and I like what I saw inside, however when I discussed the menu, I was let down. The menu is quite extensive and quite vegetarian/vegan friendly. Watch out though, the soup is cooked with chicken broth, which is unnecessary. Who knows what else that is supposed to be vegetarian is cooked in an animal byproduct. The interior has quite a nice atmosphere and it seemed to be packed on a Thursday night. The checkout person who gave us our take out was quite friendly. I wouldn't mind coming here again and given them a proper taste.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
