I tried this place out the other day for lunch and I was really impressed. A lot of reviews mention that this place is better than Fogo. I found the meats to be on par with Fogo. The salad bar is also pretty good and has a great variety of items. Service here is excellent, the waiters are super attentive. I will definitely be back! Lunch price is currently $26.50 which is extremely reasonable. Don't forget to get your parking ticket validated!

This place is to DIE Forrrrrr. The service is GOOD the food is BEYOND good! It's great for children family and the bar is nice if you just wanna go go drinks. The salad bar will blow ur mind. My only downside is that they charge my 7 year old as an adult! Hubby said when she was 6 too and shes a small looking child. Lol They have FREE valet parking aswell

Me and my husband went to this restaurant last night for a date night. When we entered we could immediately see why they have 5 star reviews (which is why we wanted to try them!). Simply said, their service. The service was impeccable. You could instantly tell how in sync the staff were and how they were so very attentive to anything you may need. Our waiter was amazing and the manager and all staff checked on us several times. Now to the food. A+. The filet mignon, ribeye, and beef rib were my absolute favorite. It was so tender and seasoned just right not overwhelming the meat's true flavor. My husband does not eat beef (I know he's missing out at a Brazilian restaurant lol) but he loved the leg of lamb. Also the cheese bread was amazing. We also tried the limeade house drink which was delicious. My only criticism was the salad bar. We have visited several brazilian restaurant and the salad bar was underwhelming for my husband and I we generally score the salad bar by the dressing options (bad dressing=bad salad!). The dressings seemed to be low quality and something out off a grocery store shelf, not made from scratch. If that is improved then we would go every week lol. Otherwise we will be visiting again with additional family and friends.

A very thoughtful coworker brought me here for lunch! Thank you if you are reading this ^^ First, this is a carnivore's paradise. Don't make the mistake and fill up on the salad bar because you want to enjoy all the flavorful meats Chama has to offer. The server will mention that salad bar is Course 1 and the meat is Course 2. However you can just ask your server to have the meat served at the same time so you can enjoy salad with your meat. My favorite cut of meat was the Fraldinha (bottom sirloin) and the Pichana (prime cut of sirloin and the House's specialty). They were the juiciest and most flavorful so definitely recommend to overindulge on those. The server will also ask if you like sauces for all your meats. We got all four (spicy, horseradish, green jelly - for the lamb, and chimichurri). Chimichurri was the favorite to go with the pieces of meat. They also brought out a side dish of grilled spicy peppers and onions to eat with the meat as well. The sides included: cheese bread, fried polenta, plantains, and mashed potatoes. My favorite was the polenta and cheese bread. Ugh! So good! We opted for the Papaya Cream for dessert (papaya blended with vanilla ice cream). I think it would have been better if they didn't drench the whole thing in creme de cassis (blackcurrant liqueur). I would ask the server if they can put it on the side. Service: Very attentive, but not in an annoying way. Maybe it's because they weren't busy at lunch time, but our server made sure our glass was always full and checked up on us to make sure everything tasted okay and if we needed anything. Parking: complimentary valet or parking in the deck (Free with validation at the hostess stand) Overall, this place is giving FOGO some serious competition. You're getting good service and prime meats at a lower price. Isn't it obvious where your next Brazilian BBQ meal should be?

Holy meat sweats. So a friend arrived in town from Portland and wanted to eat at a Brazilian Steakhouse. i knew this place was open and I wanted to try it. They have earned my five stars and so much more. 1. The service. Often times you go to a "pricey" restaurant that offers the same service as any other restaurant. Not here. Chairs are being pulled out, napkins moved, suggestions made. The staff are very observant and do not have that false niceness that rings true at other places. 2. The drinks. We all started with the Caipirinha. Do you like Cachaca? Are you familiar with a mojito? This is similar. They also have them in different flavors. I tried the original, strawberry and pineapple. I prefer the original. 3. The salad bar. We all know this is where you'll start. You will not be disappointed. There is a fresh wheel of Parmesan, Mozzarella, shrimp cocktail salad, this list goes on and on. There are beets! I have a new found love for beets so I was ecstatic. 4. The Meat! I saved the best for last. I had lamb chops with a mint jelly, filet mignon, bacon wrapped chicken because...why not? Top Sirloin, and the house special was a garlic beef cut. I'm a former vegetarian pardon my lack of meat cut knowledge. We were celebrating a birthday so we were also able to taste the cheesecake. They also serve Tres-Leches! This made my heart sing! My husband said this should be my new go-to cheer him up spot. I can't eat that much meat in one sitting often, but when I have the urge to do so. I'm going back.

Chama Gaucha is a Brazilian Steakhouse. It's like Fogo De Chao. It's in the same building as Twin Peaks and Farm Burger, next to the terminus building. It is a fancy place. They seem to want to compete with Fogo. Their lunch prices are reasonable, compared to Fogo. It's only $26-27. They have a salad bar with all sorts of non-meat goodies. Then they have the gaucho section. You have a token that has a green side and a red side. If you've been to these Brazilian places before, you know how it works. You flip it to green if you want to get bombarded with meat, you flip it to red when you give up. They offer pretty good cuts of meat from lamb, beef ribs, picanha, fillet mignon, pork ribs, bottom sirloin, ribeye, shrimp, bacon covered chicken, garlic beef, and others. They were all delicious. They were seasoned well and cooked to temp. I liked most of them. I think my favorite was the garlic beef. It was quite flavorful. They also bring out cheese breads (pao de queijo), polenta cakes, mashed potatoes, and fried plantains. They were all very good. Although, they bring these out to distract you from the meat. Just focus on the meat. The service here is like that of a high-end restaurant. I guess it is. They pull the chair for you. They are very nice and friendly. It's typical of a top-end restaurant. They also validate your parking. Make sure to remember that. I liked it. It give it solid 4 stars.

I hav nothing 2 compare this place 2 but this is FINE DINING @ it's best! Our waiter Rudy was top notch!! This place is SUPER expensive but everything on the salad bar is FRESH. Since this was my 1st Brazilian steakhouse experience I felt sum of the meat could use sum seasoning. All in all it was great. Will I go bak? Yes, but n the nxt blue moon!!

We made our visit to celebrate our friend's birthday and it was just the spot for the celebration. For parking, Chama offers complimentary valet or validated parking. In addition, there is free parking in the deck after 7 on weekends, which was perfect for our visit. Service was on point and was 5 stars. They pull the chair out for you, refill you on bread, sides, and are very attentive to you every step of the meal. We first grabbed our dishes from the salad bar, which was extensive and fresh from veggies to cured meat and cheese. Here is the full list: Caesar salad, sun dried tomato, mozzarella, fruit salad, asparagus, tomato, endives, broccoli, artichokes, shrimp cocktail, salami, manchego cheese, prosciutto, heart of palms, smoked salmon, pickled onions, roasted peppers, beets, green beans, mushrooms, green beans, chicken salad, and potato salad. Everything was good, but my favorites were the beets, roasted peppers, and the pickled onions. For complimentary sides, they brought cheese bread, which reminded me of cheese itz and fried plantains, mashed potatoes, and polenta dish. I loved the fried plantains and we refilled couple times! For drinks, Chama had great selections from wine and liquor. Too bad we weren't too fan of the house red wine, which we had ordered. The birthday boy ordered a Brazilian beer, that was like Guinness, which he was in love with. Once we were done with the salad bar items, we flipped over our little cards to green and the meat came overflowing. We tried all of their meats from house sirloin, bottom sirloin, filet mignon, ribeye, pork rib, chicken, bacon wrapped chicken, shrimp, garlic ribeye, and lamb chops. My favorites were bottom sirloin, house sirloin, and filet mignon as they were a bit more flavorful than others. I don't eat lamb, but others that had went mentioned it was one of their favorites as well. For dessert, we tried the papaya cream, which was fluffed up vanilla ice cream with papaya, but we couldn't taste it. Though it wasn't too heavy, it wasn't too memorable. And I guess we were a bit disappointed that they had forgotten that it was a birthday dinner and didn't get candle or birthday on it. Overall, great service, but pricey but worth your money type of place. Be ready to stuff your belly, but not over do it to the point you get sick. Lastly, the biggest debate... is it better than Fogo?... Honestly, it's been eons since my visit to Fogo that I can't pick... They're both pretty fierce competitors of Brazilian steak house and ultimately, I think it is just personal preference that can choose between the two. No matter what, they're both great~

Nice steakhouse. It's not very busy compared to Fogo (another steakhouse a mile down the road). The atmosphere is the same, with less natural light. The salad bar has less options than Fogo but has the basics to keep you satisfied (salad, parmesan, bacon, chicken salad, etc). I like that Fogo has the flip top hot entrees as part of their salad bar. Anyways, the meat is selections are great and majorly like Fogo. They also have grilled shrimp which Fogo does not. You get the popovers, fried polenta, caramelized bananas, and mashed potatoes. The service is excellent. I think you'll be happy with either restaurant. How can you not with endless food...lol.

I brought my wife and her mom here on a weekday lunch which it's only $26.5!!! Really good deal! Just like all the Brazilian steak house, they have a salad bar, a lot of side dishes, and of course a lot of meat. Side dishes are: cheese bread, which is awesome! Sweet banana, which I personally like a lot, mashed potato and some kinda cornmeal stuff. Salad bar is pretty good too, the cocktail shrimp is awesome!! And the smoked salmon is huge! As far as the meat goes, it is great! I like the ribeye and house a lot, and their filet and grill lamb are pretty good as well. They do have shrimp and that's something fogo does not have. However, fogo has one called garlic filet which is my favorite but they don't seem to have it over at chama. Both fogo and chama are great! Chama: has shrimp and they are cheaper. Fogo : has my favorite meat. I think I will vote for fogo, since meat wise, I like fogo better and we are at Brazilian steakhouse, of course we care more on the meat. But I still highly recommend this place! Great quality and great value for lunch. Most important thing is..... My mother in law is happy... That's all it matters! Ohh yeah!!!

Fogo who??? Came here for my birthday dinner and this place has put Brazilian Steakhouse dining on another level!! What stood out most to me was the SERVICE! True 5 star service that sets it apart from other Brazilian steakhouses. The meats are fresh and delicious and I believe they had more sides and options to choose from at their salad bar. Sorry Fogo, move over because Chama is taking over the city!!!

Carnivore heaven right here on earth... *throws the mic down and walks away... WOW, the service, the ambiance, the drinks, the meat and of course the company makes this possibly the best night of my dining experience, EVER. I love the company more than.... meat... if you're reading this, I heart you guys. Anyways, started off with a pineapple mojito that is amazing. I love the fresh chunks of pineapple and the brightness of the mint. I broke my diet because of this but I got over it. As we got seated, we were to start off with the salad bar, which has an excellent selection of salads, cheese, etc... Their shrimp ceviche is my favorite, I ate it with the endive, it's so damn good. The shrimps were crunchy and meaty, makes it for a great texture to withstand the marinade. Then on to the MEAT, I honestly couldn't remember the names but I remembered how perfect it was cooked and tasted. The garlic beef and the short beef ribs were absolutely delicious. The beef ribs just melts in your mouth... I kid you not. And let's just say... we had about 6 orders of the fried plantains - it was that good. We also ordered the Chocolate Lava Cake - I honestly think we were too full to enjoy it... All in all, the service was exceptional, everyone was in a food coma leaving there, but happy and satisfied. Can't wait to come back!

This was my first time at a Brazilian Steakhouse. I am more of a sashimi girl at heart instead a meat eater. My boyfriend and I decided to try it out since it is only $26.50 per person for lunch. The entire atmosphere was great. Service was amazing. No complaints. The quality of the meat was amazing and so were the side dishes. My favorite meat was the lamb rack. The Brazilian limonade was also delicious. I heard that the salad bar at Fogo is way better, but I thought Chama Gaucha's salad bar was just great! My only complaint is that I would like the meats to be cooked more on the rare side instead of the medium side. I also regret not trying their dessert. Btw give your ticket to the host to get it validated for free parking.

Absolutely fantastic in every aspect. Restaurant was beautiful comfortable and had amazing service. In all honesty, hands down the best service I've had in Atlanta. Our main waiter was attentive and made a great wine recommendations. The guys serving the meat were always asking what they could get you. The beef rib... Just go there, it was worth the trip alone. Great salad bar but don't fill up too much Dessert was fantastic, yogurt papaya thing with some sort of drizzle on top. Actually didn't think I would like it as much as I did but it was light and delicious. Next time I have a serious cheat day and the ability to not move the entire next day I will be back!

We went for a date night after we were craving something like Fogo but didn't like the atmosphere or the price. Great Scott, the folks at Chama Gaucha must have had the best waiter service of any restaurant I've ever been to. When we had green cards, we were inundated with meats. When our cards were red, they were respectful, only occasionally asking if we needed drinks or had a favorite we wanted delivered (the shrimp and lamb are killer -- also the filet... and the chicken). The dark Brazilian beer they have is also a good accompaniment to the meat. Very flavorful, but not too heavy to encroach on the bounty of meat. I know the joint is a splurge, but considering its all you can eat, it really isn't that bad. Considering you get incredible service and the tables aren't cramped together, it's worth the value.

I would rate this 6 stars if I could. What a fantastic experience. The service was absolutely outstanding. They made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant and all attention was on us. It only took 3.4 seconds for someone to be at my table with meat from the moment I first turned over my card. The red sangria and creme brulee was the best I've ever had. The meat was perfect and salad bar was great. LOCATION: Turn into the shopping center with Ru Sans and Twin Peaks. Immediately turn right and you will drive into (free) valet.

Despite being a small chain of just 4 locations, I must give the top rating to Chama Gaucha. BETTER THAN FOGO. Yes, you saw that coming, the dreaded comparison to FOGO De Chao, which is walking distance down the street. From price point to variety to quality to ambiance, I felt like this spot was all around a better spot. Read on. LAMB WAS SO GOOD. I had only the lamb rack, which was bursting with citrus, lamb flavor and tasted extremely fresh and delicious. YOU WILL LEAVE OVERSTUFFED. And probably won't sleep well after a heavy dinner like that, but still not likely to have regrets. The food is just that good. SPECTACULAR SELECTIONS. Amazing mushrooms, artichoke hearts, mozzarella, freshly shaved Parmesan, manchego, marinated onions. The list just goes on and on. BRAZILIAN STAFF. To my surprise, most members of the staff were actually Brazilian. SKIP THE BACON WRAPPED CHICKEN. This was the only item that was mildly disappointing. You should know coming to a Brazilian steakhouse, chicken won't be the highlight. The chicken wings were actually pretty good. MAKE SURE TO GET THE SAUCES. Chimichurri, white horseradish sauce and others were essential. I do wish that horseradish sauce was heaving on the actual horseradish and chimichurri had some more zest to it, but nonetheless enjoyed them. Both are mild and perhaps, allow more flavor to come from the meat than the sauce.

Came here on a whim since my wofe and I were visiting Atlanta on a date night. I'm sooooo glad we chose this place! We've done Brazilian steak houses before but this place beats it! It's upscale without the crazy prices and everything was done to perfection. My favorites were the garlic/butter steak, shrimp, ribeye...hell you can't go wrong with anything. Even the salad bar was top-notch. Now the service gets a special mention. Those folks are SUPER attentive to all your needs. Every restaurant in America needs to model their customer service after this place!

  • Jeff B.

Had a birthday dinner for friends in Atlanta and this place exceeded all my expectations. It's a comfortable upscale restaurant. I've eaten at fogo down the street this is better. I'd put it in the top three Brazilian steakhouses I've had across the South. Food was well prepared. I liked the filet and house sirloin best but everything I tried was great. The service was great and management checked on us at least twice.

The drinks are delicious! The steaks are soo juicy and warm. The seasoning is on point so you don't even need sauces. The flan desert and the cheesecake is awesome. The service is great! The salads at the salad bar where awesome! They have chicken salad, apple salad and potato salad. All three where delicious. The meats are super fresh, juicy and tender. The also have grilled shrimp! Awesome! Free valet parking and plenty of parking if you decide to self park.

I have been curious about this place and finally decided to peek in after some drinking at Twin Peaks. First off, I felt very underdressed because it's quite swanky inside. The door says proper attire but they didn't seem to mind my flip-flops. I wanted to try the advertised half off appetizer menu. It's from 4:30 to 7:30 during the week. The drink prices aren't happy hour prices but they do have quite an impressive wine selection. My neighbor ordered the pineapple mojito and it looked awesome. I enjoyed my California wine blend. Bartender M.J. was quite helpful with helping decide on wine. The lamb chops were absolutely perfection. The accompanying mint sauce was great too. The filet mignon and bacon wrapped chicken was delicious too. The shrimp was full of flavor as well. You really can't beat the prices for the quality of meat selections. The average price for the lunch (unlimited dishes) is around $26 and the dinner is around $41 per person. These are wonderful prices and the lunch gives to you access to all the same wonderful meats as dinner. However, you will be stuffed in the dead middle of the day! Can you say unproductive ? The food is definitely a step up from other Brazilian steakhouses. I understand how the yelpers give it perfect ratings!

As many others have attested to, the food and service at Chama Gaucha are fantastic. Every cut of meat that was brought out was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. In true Brazilian steak house fashion, meat was unending and you are tempted to leave your card green side up until you realize that you have a plate full of meat! Every server was gracious and attentive. The atmosphere is upscale and modern. It's basically one large room and a another smaller area to one side that is a few steps above that looks down on to the larger dining area. There are several small private rooms for functions or occasions. My biggest complaint would be the dress of the clientele. This is an expensive and formal dining experience but many, if not most, of the patrons were dressed in jeans with regular t-shirts or polo shirts. At this price point I expect better, but that is not necessarily the restaurants fault except for enforcing a dress code.

Very good food here! Of course, it's impossible not to compare this to other Brazilian steakhouses so I will. Let's just knock out Texas De Brazil and Fire of Brazil off the bat; they can't hold a candle to Chama. In compariosn to Fogo, I feel that Chama has better meat. It's less salty and has a better char. The salad bar goes to Fogo as Chama needs some hot food sides and some salads that are not pre-mixed but it's still a good bar. I've never had dessert here because I am always way too full. Great wine selection. While the servers are kind, there are a bit too many of them. Sometimes it feels like your dancing around them when you try to get up. Overall a great Brazilian steakhouse and experience. A good AYCE addition to Atlanta!

This place. Great location. Incredible food. HOTT waitresses. Very friendly and attentive staff. It has everything to make it the new trendy restaurant in Buckhead! The dining area is very nice, and the bar opens up to a swanky patio section. Great place to throw an event! Their signature drinks are really tasty too. Ask for the #johnniedrama. It's incredible! I will definitely be going back!

EXCELLENT service. EXCELLENT food. FIVE STARS. room: we reserved one of the three rooms they had got large groups (free of charge) for my mothers surprise birthday dinner. we planned for about 25-30 and we ended up having around 20 people show up. Even though our numbers were low they had no problem serving us in our private room. waiter: probably one of the BEST waiters I've had in a while. he helped serve and guide all 20 of us through the restaurant, brought extra plates and silverware, and even lit the candles on my moms birthday cake. he took tons of pictures for us and he escorted us out to the patio where he showed us the fire pit. food: on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 8 just because every piece of meat was super hot and I love my food temperature to be hot. as far as seasoning and sauce, they could add a little more their recipes or find a way to keep the sauce and flavor in the meat as it is cooking. price: for $41.50 you get the salad bar and the endless amount of meat they bring out. just keep your card on green haha! for the price I paid though j can't complain because it was well worth it and everyone left the restaurant full. I didn't even eat breakfast the next morning because I was so full. A great service and a great time here at Chama Gaucha. lots of restaurants could benefit from their level of customer service! thank you for making my moms surprise party a great one! we will be back!!!

Wow, what a great experience - both the food and the service were impeccable and think Fogo has a bit of competition here with a lower price. The managers and the waiters were constantly attentive and even brought my wife and friends out some scallops from the bar when they requested it. Was so happy with this experience I can't wait to get back here, this was made for elastic pants after eating all of the wonderful foods and don't forget the salad bar with the incredible grilled aspargus and the prosecutto.

The food was fabulous! Plan to take your time and don't be rushed. The salad bar has a fresh large wheel of Parmesan and other cheeses, along with salami, shrimp, many salads and other items. The meats are tasty and they bring you steak cooked to your taste. The servers are very accommodating and friendly. I would not suggest you sit near kitchen entrance as the servers come and go so often it is distracting. The house made cheese puff rolls are our favorite, and it's a bottomless basket! Our family if 8 had a special occasion and everyone took great care if us. On a couple of other occasions my husband and I ate at the bar and had a good time with friendly bartenders and good snacks and drinks.

Excellent food and service. Salad bar was clean cold and lacked that smell some salad bars have. They were very good about bringing out our favorite meats and tailoring down to what we wanted. Great restaurant!!!

Buckhead has a new hotspot bringing the heat, meat, and sweet treats. Chama Gaucha is a much needed addition to Atlanta's fine dining scene. No offense to other Brazilian steakhouses, but the whole experience at Chama Gaucha is 5 stars from start to finish. The ambiance at Chama Gaucha is simply stunning. A chic, open atmosphere provides a posh environment for sipping caipirinhas, cocktails, or a glass of wine from a stellar list of options. The bar extends to a covered patio with a fire pit, perfect for the cool nights quickly approaching. There's also a private dining room which I'm seriously considering for my birthday celebration. Now let's talk about the food. The "salad" bar is so much more than that. A superb selection of salads, fresh vegetables, charcuterie, cheeses, gazpacho, smoked fish, chicken salad, southern Brazilian-style potato salad, and fresh breads are prettily presented appetizers. As my husband said, the salad bar is impressive but at Chama Gaucha it's really all about the meats. Beef is the star of the show, with the house special showcasing a prime cut of sirloin. There's not just one but two types of filet mignon plus rib eye, bottom sirloin, and beef rib...just to name a few. There's also sausage, pork rib, bacon-wrapped chicken, lamb chops, and delicious grilled shrimp which I just couldn't get enough of. Are you drooling yet? Dessert is also a must at Chama Gaucha. Since our dining experience was all about indulgence, we opted for the molten chocolate lava cake as well as the layered chocolate mousse cake. Service was above and beyond. Our main server, Porsha, was absolutely delightful and her team of servers ensured our water glasses were never empty. We didn't want for anything! All in, if you do cocktails, wine, dinner, and dessert, plus tax & tip you can expect to pay around $75 per person. I promise y'all, it's worth every penny and I can't wait to go back again soon.

Finally. We have a steak house that is truly on the next level, in Atlanta. And absolutely perfect for ppl with celiac disease. We have a gluten (wheat) allergy. Brazilian steak houses are not hard to eat at, for the most part everything is gluten free. Every time we have gone to a Brazilian steak house we can never eat the chicken. It is marinated in beer. Which is a big gluten no no. Chama also marinated the chicken in beer, but the manager came over and said they can make a fresh one just for us with no beer. I feel comfortable posting about this because it took place on all 3 occasions we visited. That is pretty amazing, to go out of your way for gluten free folks is pretty next level. The meats are perfect. Each one is cooked perfect. As you would like it. The managers are of a 6 star restaurant, the gauchos that bring the food around are amazing, jokesters, nice and remember which meat you like more. The shrimp is super impressive, and I am not a big seafood person. The filet is also the best I have ever had. Finally a filet that can rival all the Vegas steakhouses. This restaurant is on point. It will do very well. And last a long time. Thank you so much for being, not only gluten friendly, but also gluten easy. Reminded me of a proper gluten free restaurant. Will be back and this spot is worth every single penny. Every time I consider another steak restaurant, this place reminds me that not only can I eat gluten free; but every single cut of meat I would ever want. Eat the cheese bread. It's gluten free. And will change your life.

I love this place! Absolutely love it! Food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is great, but what always gets me is the excellent customer service! I'm likely going to sound like a broken record here and repeat what's been said in many of the other reviews. I've now dined here 3 times. They've been open about three months and this place has not slipped in the slightest from both a service and quality standpoint. Their salad bar is the best, freshest with the most unique selection ever. You really have to be careful and pace yourself with the salad bar if you even hope to stand a chance of enjoying the meat coming your way down the road. The meat selection is vast and impressive. The quality and flavor of the cuts are excellent. Not one single meat selection disappointed our group of 10 celebrating Father's Day. Their sides are also excellent with polenta, fried bananas and mashed potatoes being absolutely delectable. The service was impeccable as we never had a beverage nearing empty and almost everyone had their chairs pulled out and pushed back as we left and arrived at the table. Our lead waiter was Mike and he has been our server each time we've visited. He actually moved from their Chicago location as an experienced server/trainer for the new Atlanta location. His service and personality are excellent and he's incredibly well suited for his role. He only enhances the experience all the more and I encourage you to ask for him when you visit. Lastly, the deserts were also a big hit for our group. The chocolate lava cake with ice cream was definitely the top pick at our table but, all were excellent. Simply said, skip all the rest of the Brazilian steakhouses in Atlanta and surrounding areas and make Chama Gaucha your next stop. I assure you will love your experience as much as we did.

I've been here a couple of times and what I have to say is: Whoa. Cheaper and better experience than Fogo. You receive royal treatment like no other place. Their eyes are in constant movement from table to table, person to person, plate to plate. They're spread out and always in movement. If you get up, they pull your chair out, if you sit down, they push your chair in. If your sides get cold, they swap it out with a fresh one even if you haven't touched the dish. I'm not a fan of wasting food but I have to admit, if their mission is to make their customers feel higher and above, they have succeeded!

My aunt and I love these steakhouses, and we wanted to give CG a try while I was in town. I cannot put into words how AMAZING this place is. The staff are beyond incredible and passionate about what they do, the food is absolutely to die for, and the atmosphere was most pleasant with the Bossa Nova music and the fireplace patio. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Excellent service. They anticipated my needs before I even asked for it!! The meats were so delicious, so tender, done just right. Free parking after 7pm was a perk. The food bar has great selections as well. The food quality and service is well worth and fairly priced. I'll be coming back soon!

iv always asked myself, how can you give a review on a resturant or anything when you have nothing or been to anything to compare it to? Some reviewers have only been to one Brazilian steak house, however in my travels to over 19 different counties iv been to many and this is number 2 on my list.since number 1 is in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I will give you my opinion on chama Gaucha The service is the best iv ever had out of any restaurant in the Unites states even those 5 star resturants in Vegas you literally have every waiter in the place including floor mgrs waiting on you.you feel like royalty the salad bar was the best iv seen however let me warn you pace yourself on this.the sides were great brought put immediately after we were done eating our salads. Now to the main course the meats were all brought out piping hot and flavorful deserts, drinks were great as well I would give this place 10 stars but only 5 is allowed I would tell to walk their if you could make it I will be back Oh I won't even mention that other brazilian steak house resturant in the same breath as this one that's like comparing a ice cream bar to a to a fudge sundae chama has my vote

Like everyone said, skip Fogo. The meat is 2 steps above Fogo. The service is miles above. Came for my daughters 9th Birthday. Server cut the girls meat for them! Yes. Poured the wine. Remembered everyone's meat preference. That's service. Fill this place up. They have to stay. You will never go back to Fogo.

Great service and best meat variety in town! AND they even serve a delicious unforgettable skewed/seasoned and grilled shrimp!!! Authentic Brazilian steak house. Better than Fogo De Chao. I mean it!

The salad bar was amazing and had great variety! The meats were superb...flavorful, tender and well-seasoned! The service was phenomenal too! We had a much better experience at Chama than at Fogo.

Simply sublime! I wish I could give then six stars! My family has been enjoying Chama Gaucha for years, and were excited to learn it was coming to Atlanta. We patiently waited for the opening and was rewarded for our patience with a delectable selection of meats, the expansive salad bar, and impeccable service from the staff! It was amazing! We first experienced Chama Gaucha in San Antonio on 2008, and frequented the place until we left in 2011. Since then we've lived in places where they weren't. We tried Fogo de Chao and Chima and concluded they weren't up to par with Chama Gaucha's flavor, ambiance, flair, attention to detail, and overall price value! Go check them out. They will not disappoint!! PS: children under five years old eat free!!!

This was our first visit but will not be our last. The ambience was relaxed and almost calming. The service was amazing. To start with I had asked for a quiet table and got exactly that, a nice table by the window and this may seem odd but I hate a table for two that is so small you run out of room for plates, drinking glasses, bread baskets etc., but that is not the case here. Our table for two was perfect , with the water glass, wine glass, the three side dishes, bread etc we had plenty of space. Now to the food, a great and varied salad bar starts the dining experience and honestly I could just stop there but NO, there is all the meats that are brought to your table by a number of servers. The Rib Eye and Filet Mignon were very tender and tasty, bacon wrapped chicken was tender and juicy, oh did I mention the rolls ?? Wonderful!!! I honestly wish I could have eaten more but at some point your body just has no more room. The service was fabulous, we never had to look for a waiter to fill our drinks, they were always full, our servers were always cleaning the table of crumbs etc. but not so much that they were annoying. Although we did not have desert ( as I said , no room ) we did have coffee and I must say that at many restaurants the decaf coffees are sometimes bitter but here, even the coffee was great . We will definitely return!!!

Have been a Fogo fan for many years & beginning in Brasil. They are the best & imitators don't quite meet their high level. Today we went to this restaurant & frankly it was very, very good. I was surprised that the quality & service was very close to Fogo's & they were slightly cheaper. A real plus is that they also have shrimp salad on the salad bar plus shrimp on skewers. My wife had the salad bar which she said was better than Fogo's. Glad they're in Atlanta & hope they make it!

I have to agree with all of the comments. This place is doing it right. The service is unparalleled and the food is perfect. My favorite cut was the ribeye with the house special garlic beef coming in at a close second. Comfortable and elegant, we'll definitely return.

Went here for my birthday for the first time. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Salad bar was nice and the meat selections they brought around were also good. Some of the meat were a little too chewy for me. But it was probably the fact that I was there an hour before closing and they had to prepare the meat a little faster. The service was great. Borderline pushy cause of it being recently open. Would for sure go back again! Good date night, celebration, and even a good bar if you just wanted to get a drink by yourself !

Overall a nice experience , excellent customer service but as a true Brazilian the rice was disrespectful . It taste like minute rice ! And the cook should use a little more rock salt on the picanha. Our server regis was very helpful and recommended amazing desert . I might come back but then again I can get an amazing Authentic Brazilian meal for 30 dollars less .

Brazilian steakhouses are always fun considering the unique ritual that is not just exclusive but also very organized. Chama Gaucha definitely justifies the price it charges per person with a number of attributes such as variety & choices, flavor & seasoning, class & ambiance and last but not the least - service & treatment. We visited the place just to see how different it was compared to their competitor a few blocks away - Fogo De Chao. Although both of them are world class restaurants, I would personally lean towards CG. I don't want to repeat the same stuff that a lot of the fellow patrons have already mentioned in their reviews here, but here's my 2 cents: They have more choices, lesser price, better taste & extraordinary service. Although I would like the waitresses to give a little more gap in between checking on us, I understand they are only trying to give you the best treatment. I would definitely recommend this place to any one who loves meat. It's a paradise and you will be treated like a king.

Ive been to Brazil, and i lived in a city with a lot of Brazilians and Brazilian restaurants. This place is the real deal. Superb high-end Brazilian food with a Brazilian feeling atmosphere. Chama's competition down the street, Fogo de Ciao, is more expensive and not as high quality. Its just a matter of time before all the Fogo fans discover this place and never Fogo again.

Tastes similar to fogo de chao but better prices. They charge 10 dollars less per person for dinner. It was delicious and staff is great. The layout is similar. This location has an outside sitting area which is great for the summer.

I almost feel blasphemous saying this ...but I think I've found a Brazilian Steakhouse superior to Fogo. I've been to Chama twice already and have had a great experience both times. The food is great and the service is top notch.

  • Brandon G.

As someone who has always been a huge Fogo fan I have to say they started dropping the ball years ago lowering the quality of their meats. Chama is a major breathe of fresh air! Their meat cuts are very high quality and their service is second to none while still keeping prices reasonable.

This place is outstanding. Beautiful and open feeling restaurant with a 5-star staff. The salad bar is fresh and tasty and you could get full from that alone. Polenta, potatoes, and bananas at the table are to be expected. The meat is delicious, a variety of tasty cuts, flavorful without being salty. Dessert is insignificant you can skip it. The prices here are reasonable. Staff and quality of food are really what set this place apart.

Where to start, what an outstanding dining experience! Authentic Brazilian Churrascaria in Buckhead. From the salad bar to the papaya creme with cassis. The service was unbelievable. Loved it! I am so full it physically hurts I could not say no. And then add in the very reasonable prices a new gem in the Atlanta fine dining scene.

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Especially with Woodfire closing recently, it's hard to find a 5 star dining experience in town that provides quality food with exceptional service. I cannot recommend eating here enough. One small complaint that has nothing to do with the restaurant itself-so many of the guests come wearing t-shirts or jean shorts and tank tops...please remember this is a fine dining experience! Dress the part! But anyway, try the shrimp and garlic steak! My absolute favorite. And again-the service!! It's amazing!

I came here after my workout at the gym across the street to check it out. I sat on the patio, and the wait staff was very friendly and extremely professional. I had a few of their appetizers, and the food was phenomenal! It's such a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere, too! The lamb was hands down the best I've ever had, and their cheesy rolls are to die for! I cannot wait for my next visit back; Chama Gaucha is THE best!

I've been waiting for it's opening for months and it was totally worth it! The staff is great and welcoming, the meat is great and the salad bar way better then Fogo!!! The space is comfortable with great lounge Brasilian music and the best of all it's affordable!!! Gonna Keep coming back for sure!

Chyma has been open for a mere three weeks when I came here. I was driving by Piedmont rd and spotted this joint. I decided to check it out. The decor is beautiful and the selection of meat is vast, fresh and tasty. They have the softest cheese bread I have ever had. My favorite is the shrimp and filet mignon. Smoked salmon and Apple salad are good choices as well.

I went here with my cousin and the service was amazing! The servers are all very attentive and the management was extremely friendly. The actually treat you like family once you walk in thru the door. I feel like this Brazilian stake house is gonna be the new stake house to go to! The salad bar is beautiful, the meats are perfect! they even have shrimp! If I'll go dine over there again. I'm definitely coming back here for my mom's birthday.

This place pulled out all the stops when I was there for a special person's Birthday Dinner. Regis was our head server. He made sure everything during the night was on point. The meat servers were extremely nice and made sure that my food was cooked to my liking. I actually must say this restaurant embodied what great customer server is all about. They were ALL attentive, benevolent, and gracious. Simply the best service and food that I've had in Atlanta!

My family and I went here for lunch today to celebrate my grandma's 83rd birthday, and it was incredible. Absolutely perfect in every way. My grandfather was a prime meat butcher in New York when he was younger, and he says that the meat served today was as good as it gets in terms of quality. And the service--impeccable! Although the dining room was mostly full, we were made to feel as though we were the only customers in there. The servers were attentive yet unobtrusive, and even more important--everyone was cheerful and kind. The salad bar selection was fantastic, and every item was fresh and delicious. As I mentioned before, the meats were perfect; tender, correctly seasoned, and cooked to your specification (they will cut you a piece cooked to your liking). My family prefers everything rare, and the servers went out of their way to make sure everything was rare enough for us. This is definitely our new favorite restaurant, and we look forward to spending many holidays here. Thank you to all of the staff who took the time to give my grandma a wonderful birthday!

Based on the YELP reviews, I took my mother here for Mother's Day dinner. We arrived on time for our reservation, and were seated immediately. The service in this place is wonderful. They are so attentive! They pull out chairs and help with coats. It has been a long time since I received such service. Now for the food. It was delicious!! Even with the food they provided excellent service. My mom has a thing about rare looking meat, (she simply wont eat it!!) but they took everything she showed any interest in back for further cooking. We both ate until it hurt. The only turn-off for me was the shrimp guy. I don't know if he was upset because he was on shrimp duty or what. But he passed by our table several times without stopping. Then when he finally came he gave me two shrimp and disappeared. I had to request 3 times and wait for some time for his return. Upon which he, judging from his face, begrudgingly gave me 2 more. Everyone else seemed genuinely pleasant and helpful. The Manager even gave my mom a gift card for Mother's Day. I hope that they are consistent, and that this wasn't their Mother's Day show. If they are, Atlanta has a new hot spot for great food and service! Thanks Chama Gaucha for helping me to make a memorable Mother's Day experience!

After work, me and the girls decided on trying this place out. My favorite restaurant is Fogo but I heard so many good reviews about this place. I called in to make reservations but the hostess said it was not necessary and that we would get seated soon as we walked in. I love the location by the way, right under RuSans. When first arriving, we asked for a table for 7, and of course we got seated right away. After ordering our drinks, I headed to the salad bar to see what they had to offer. The strawberry and grape salad was delicious. The chicken salad was also marvelous. Only thing missing from the salad bar was fresh fruits. The service was excellent. Cheesy bread couldn't stand a chance at our table. I love the lemonade, so refreshing. I was a little disappointed with the ribeye only because I didn't think it was seasoned well. The filet mignon, garlic beef, house, and lamb chops were delicious! So flavorful and cooked to perfection. Great alternative to Fogo if you aren't able to get a reservation in. I definitely will be back with more friends.

My parents surprised my husband and I with this dinner to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. The food, service and atmosphere was amazing. This was by far the best restaurant I have been to in Atlanta! Months later, I'm still talking about how good the food was to friends and co-workers.

Just had dinner at Chama and what a fantastic experience. It is without question better than fogo de chao. I too have been dining at fogo for over a decade and im jumping ship from now on to Chama. Certified Angus Beef for 41.50 compared to fogo, who serves choice grade, for $55. It's a no brainer. I could tell the difference in quality at first bite of the lamb and filet mignon. And they offered me grilled shrimp!! After reading a few other reviews I just had to try it and was not disappointed. Service was top notch and the bar is gorgeous. Caipirinhas at $9 compared to fogo which is at $13. They even walked me back to the fire pit that is controlled with charcoal and wood, not gas, to see the whole operation. Never received this good of service at fogo... always felt treated like the cattle I was eating. On my way out the hostess was kind enough to show me the "bar and patio" menu that serves the same meats in smaller appetizer portions. I look forward to returning to try that beautiful patio out and bringing a date. Thank you Chama for a fantastic evening. If your asking me is Chama better than Fogo... my answer is yes! Higher quality for less.... Thank you Chama! I'll be back(terminator voice)

Chama Guacha Brazillian Steakhouse is the best Brazillian restaurant between Atlanta and Brazil!!! It is amazing, the food, the atmosphere, the service. The price is not bad either!!!! Im going to post this on as many cites as I can. I was totally impressed!! I dont even like Brazillian food, but my husband loves it. He is really picky and doesnt care about the atmosphere, only that the food is good and that the restuarant is not stingy with the food. The kept coming and coming and coming, with different meets that were delicious. You could even ask for a specific type and it was always fresh. The salad bar is AMAZING. Im someone who lives at the salad bar!!! SO GOOD. I dont drink by my friends do and apparently , the drinks must have been REALLY good. There is a blue martini of some sort with dry ice. I think that it was my friends' favorite. From the outside to the inside,,, it was great. And the valet parking is free. It was my husband's 40th birthday. This was a restaurant choice sent by GOD. I just happen to search for Brazilian restaurants online and Yelp had this listed as 5 stars. So many other sites did too. So glad that we went. I cant say enough. I think I love Brazilian food now. At least at this place I do!!! The price is great!! about $40 per person. It was so worth it. Ill see youagain next time Chama Gaucha!!

I had an excellent experience today at Chama Gaucha today. My fiance and our good friend both had birthdays this weekend, so a group of 6 of us went out for a lunchtime indulgence. That was certainly what this was. The salad bar.. completely fresh, perfectly seasoned offerings, and plenty of hearty food for our vegetarian friend who came along. The meats.. perfectly cooked, absolutely divine. They really never stopped coming with the meat -- even after other group members had sent away their plates, they continued serving the few who hadn't surrendered yet. :) This wasn't the case at a previous churrascaria experience, when they seemed to ignore us when we had eaten quite a bit, but still wanted more. At Chama Gaucha, we ate far too much! But that was the point. The service was absolutely impeccable. I think we all felt like royalty. There was no pressure to leave after we were done eating meat, and we chatted for a while, so there ended up being just a little room for shared dessert. I told the restaurant it was their birthday when making the reservation, and they gave us two desserts with Happy Birthday written on them and a candle at the end of our meal. No fuss, just a nice way to celebrate them. This was an incredible dining experience, and certainly a great celebratory place to go, especially for big eaters like my partner :)

You know it is a good Brazilian restaurant when more than half of the customers are Brazilians. I agree with every review so far, this place is excellent! All the meats you can imagine, plus shrimp (big ones too). The service is superb and the salad bar and side dishes are amazing. Better then Fogo de chao and the price is right. Valet option or free parking.

I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of meat and the service we received. Alas, the atmosphere in the main dining room seemed to feel a little bit like a hotel banquet room to me.

I have been reading most of these reviews and to be honest, I think there is a lot of biased reviews. To qualify myself: I eat at Fogo at least once or twice per month. I have been to Brasil 6 times and eaten at dozens of steakhouses in Brasil and the USA. I have been going to Fogo for well over 10-years. I have been to Chama TWICE. They are both excellent but Fogo is still #1 IMO. Here is my breakdown: Ambiance: Chama wins. The bar is great and the decor is fresh and new. I think the bar area is an excellent date option and you can order items from a menu versus the all you can eat. We had a a drink after dinner and just hung out for 30 min outside. You cannot do that at Fogo. Service: Tie. Most of the employees at Chama came from Fogo. Both places remember your cuts and provide first class service. I think Chama is a little more aggressive since they are trying to win new customers. Salad Bar: Fogo is clear winner. Fogo's salad bar is much more expansive and offers more hot items and heart of palms. At Chama, you have to ask for heart of palms? Chama does have heart of palm if you ask. One reviewer who said the Chama salad bar is better and had "more variety" is either lying or had one too many Caipirinhas. The Chama salad bar is MUCH smaller thus making it physically impossible to have more items. I don't waste much time at the salad bar so this is a none issue to me. Meats: Fogo wins in my honest opinion. The cuts are more flavorful and tender overall. I have only been to Chama twice but both times the meats were not quiet as good. Chama does use gas and Fogo does use real charcoal. If you cook on a grill using real charcoal, you know what I am talking about. With that said, Chama's meats are right up their and I still rate their meats excellent I would never wait to eat at Fogo over eating at Chama. Very close to each other. I did notice one reviewer say "2 steps up from Fogo". That is just out of line. Fogo is just one half step above Chama. Side items: Bread: Pão de queijo - Chama's is better IMO. It has more cheese, which i prefer Mash Potatos: Chama has AWESOME mash potatoes and I never eat mash potatoes. You must try these. Fried Yuca: You cannot get this at Chama. At Fogo, all you have to do is ask Caipirinhas: I like Fogo's better but both are great. Chama uses more lime, which I think are more authentic because they remind me more of the ones in Brasil. I am probably just accustom to Fogo's style of drink. Parking: Fogo is much easier to get in and out. Chama has their hands full on this one. Also, several places have closed in that location. I wish Chama had chosen a better location because I think the location alone will hurt their sales. Bottom line: Both places are great any my loyalty ls with my taste buds. I will definitely go back to Chama and I hope they make it. Chama is $41 and Fogo is $51 so $10 is not going to make a difference to me but it may matter to some.

This place is SO AMAZING! They know they have to compete with Fogo de Chao right down the road, and they have really stepped up to the challenge. $10 cheaper per person, and yet matches the taste, and does even better with service and atmosphere. The meat all was fresh and tasted perfect, and the service was incredible about bringing us whatever we'd want. We didn't even have to ask- it was always being offered for us to request our favorite meat, and within seconds they'd be there with it. Even their constant stream of appetizers was amazing (I probably ate 4 of the bananas on top of all of the meat I had). On top of that, it was elegant and spacious. Go here instead of Fogo!

As basic girls say, "I can't even!" Gorgeous location, to be expected in Buckhead - and free parking! What?! My date and I got there around 9:45 and while it was quiet, there were other groups there, including a large party in a separate room. The salad bar is smaller than the one at Fogo, but I feel as though that's a plus. There is an ample selection (that shrimp cocktail salad!) but not so much that you're truly overwhelmed. We were practically waited on hand and foot. Chairs pulled out, drinks refilled, I'm surprised they don't feed you themselves...! But what really matters? The meat and the cost. The meat... Ohhhh, yes! The lamb chops and shank (?) were amazing. The cuts of beef (whose names I don't remember) also incredible. They even brought out grilled shrimp at my date's request and those were sublime. For the two of us, including Cokes, the bill was $94. I'm fine with that. The service, the food, the atmosphere - all made it worth it. While it isn't something I would do biweekly as other reviewers seem to do, I would definitely keep this place in mind for special occasions!

If you've never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before, I don't know if this should be your first experience because it will certainly spoil you! Everything here is first class and the service is a notch above excellent. On the salad bar you will find everything from smoked salmon, to olives, to signature aged wheels of Parmesan cheese, and all of the other traditional items you would normally find. Every cut of meat is cooked to perfection. You can't go wrong with anything. My girlfriend did not like lamb before coming here, but she tried some with their mint sauce (not jelly) and it turned out to be her favorite thing there. The bread that comes to the table is incredibly delicious and very unique. Called "little clouds" in Brazilian, these crispy cheese filled puffs will melt in your mouth!

What can I say other than it was 100% and the beef rib was the best that I've ever had in my life. The food, the prime meats, the music, the price, the look, the attention to every detail. I must say A+ or 100%

Best service I have had in Atlanta. Some of the best service I've had anywhere. The food is excellent, but it's a little extras that make all the difference. The Brazilian steakhouse standards are there. A red/green card to call meat, starchy sides on the table and a salad bar with assorted cold meats, cheeses and veggies. As for the cooked meats brought by, I mostly stuck with the filet mignon, shrimp, and lamb chops. All cooked perfectly. So far I've been twice but this restaurant will be in my regular rotation.

I went to Chama on the night of the 10th. And the experience I had there was wonderful. I've been to multiple brazilian steakhouses before and while they were good, there is something that stands out about Chama. I don't know if they just use better quality ingredients or if the service was just that much better. Overall, the value is here. For the cost of a Brazilian Steakhouse, you want to make sure that you are getting top-notch service AND top-notch food and Chama did not disappoint. This is my new favorite steakhouse.

Amazing! If you are wondering if it's better than Fogo, yes it is. As a loyal Fogo fan for years, I almost didn't want to come here. Half the staff is from Fogo. Why is it better? Salad bar is nicer, roomier, and more variety. The seating is more spaced out. Fogo is so crowded now. For the meat, it's amazing, hands down. Also, the service is second to none.

My husband and I love Rodizio steakhouses. We decided to give this place a try and we dont regret it. Fogo and Texas de Brazil will now be 2nd options. Meat and salad bar was premium. They also serve grilled shrimps. Service was OUTSTANDING. Waiter, meat servers, water people were really atrentive and aware of your needs, asking if you needed a special cut and, if you did, you would get almost in a minute. That's something I'd hate about Texas de Brazil that I'd wait forever for the type of meat I wanted. I really recommend this place. Hope they keep up the good service and food!

It's nice Brazilian steakhouse. Parking is pretty easy and is free on weekends. Service was good and food is also good. I like the cocktail. Their salad bar is nice.

Impossibly delicious. The best Brazilian bbq I've had outside of Brazil. The service is top-notch, the Malbec pours are generous and the meats... Lamb, shrimp, filet mignon and top sirloin are exquisite. And just when you don't think you can eat anymore, they bring out the sides. All the plantains, mashed potatoes, rice and beans you can eat. I highly recommend this place!

The question everyone's asking. Is it better than Fogo? I've been a loyal Fogo fan for about 10 years. Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse is what Fogo used to be. It breaks my heart to say this as Fogo has always been so good to me but as a reviewer, I have to be honest and unbiased. Let's get to the experience. Service: The service here will match Fogo's level and zealously exceed it in a nearly desperate manner - nearly. My suggestion to Chama is to relax the service. Be there and be friendly but don't be intrusive. I don't want my chair pulled out every single time I approach the table. Perhaps many will enjoy this treatment, but I thought it was over the top. I do understand that this was opening night and that they were eager and possibly nervous. Ambiance: The place itself is sleek and innovative with cultural undertones and good music. Everything was spotless. The music was good, I heard a few Brazilian tunes and I really liked that because I want to be immersed not only in the great food but in the culture as well and Brazilian Jazz is one of the trademarks of the country. In my opinion, this detail adds deeply to the experience. Meats: Chama is offering prime meats broiled over fire, I haven't tasted fresher cuts in my life. The Bottom sirloin is amazing, tender, juicy, fresh and still full of rich flavor. The Leg of Lamb and Lamb Chops are both delicate, fresh and amazingly tender. Lamb is a diffucult meat to prepare, it has to be fresh and cooked at the exact temp to keep it from becoming hard, Chama has the PERFECT lamb, I was really impressed. The Filet is also top notch, melt in your mouth tender and still flavorful despite being the leanest cut it satisfies completely. Basically all their meats were perfect. I could not pick on any one, they were all top notch. Shockingly the best cut I had was the rib-eye. Now if you know steaks you'll know that the best, most savory part of any rib-eye is the lip, it's the most marbled, tender and flavorful part of the rib-eye and maybe the entire cow. MOOO. Chama's preparation of rib-eye was something I've never experienced in my life. It was like putting a piece of butter in your mouth, yes, it was the richest meat I've ever tasted, and the softest. The pleasure I experience from this was embarrassing, as I looked around to see if anyone had noticed the expression on my face as my eyes were rolling into the back of my head. If you're a Fogo fan as I have been the past ten years I can break it down simply for you. Fogo is using choice cuts, these are grocery store qualities. Chama is using Prime, which is available from fresh butchers but not at most stores. Fogo has smokier flavor but Chama has better quality and their flavor comes more from quality than BBQ flavoring. This is going to be my new Brazilian Churrascaria. Out with the old and in with the new. I had a favorite spot for a very long time but after a massive corporate sellout, well, I can taste the cut in quality and I mentioned it, but well... it's hard to hear a customer's opinion over the sound of the money stacking up. Before I finish I have a few mentions on how to improve the Chama experience. The plates were awful, they really were difficult and unenjoyable to eat from. The level of service, although I know it was their first night open and they were eager, it was slightly intrusive. The last thing was the parking. This is something that has no solution, but it won't stop me from coming, I'm just wondering how they'll handle the volume once they get into full swing. Hard to get in and out. Can't wait to go back!
