This place is a great quick stop for food that's one step above every other fast food place in this Peachtree food court. I'm only in Atlanta once a year for DragonCon, but with a D*C schedule, getting a decent meal quickly is always a good thing. It's totally a buffet (although they have some mysterious back counter that I think they can actually make food for you too??) and they charge you by the weight of whatever you can stuff in the container. They have all kinds of things like tasty chicken, pasta, salad, fruit, etc. The only thing missing was dessert. It does get a little pricey when you realize just how much food does weigh. But anyway, it's good food fast. If we had one of these places in my area, I'd totally eat here every once and awhile. Anyone who goes here on non-DragoCon days will even get the benefit of actually sitting at a chair and table and eating! Gotta love that, too.

They have a good selection of food here and it tastes pretty good. It can be a little pricy for what you get. They charge by weight. However, the sanitary practices here leave much to be desired. On numerous occasions I've noticed customers putting unwanted food back with their bare hands, have found the handles of utensils lying in food, etc. The final straw for me though came when I wintessed some employees returning to refill their already eaten from plates (half eaten chicken bones, leftover noodle juice, etc still on them) from the buffet trays. I pointed this out to two cashiers and they said "It's ok, they work here." I explained to them why this is unclean and one of them said "I'll let them know" but did nothing to stop them. How long has this been going on? If they're this unwise about sanitation in the front of the restaurant, who knows what goes on in the back. Gross.

The food is OK. They do have big variety for you choose. The salad seem to be fresh. The only down side is price. They sell buy weight so you end up paying much for than at other vendors. Choose carefully, especially when you buy hot items, they are heavy.

Momo rocks. I eat there two or three times a week. Good quality food at a reasonable price, fantastic selection of salads, hot items, desserts, fruit, etc. I really love their chicken salad.

I would really give this place 4.5 stars if possible, I do not think that anyone is worthy of a 5... But, I am really impressed with Cafe Momo. Their price per pound COULD stand to go down a dollar, but I will not fuss over trivial matters. Whether you go for breakfast or lunch, this is your opportunity to get whatever it is that you want from the smorgasboard with minimal wait. They have LOTS of variety, something to fit the goals of every food palate. The staff is constantly refilling and shifting the food around, so it does not get the chance to get old and stale like so many of the other places of its type does. I love the fact that I can get sushi, fresh fruit, tomato/mozz, chicken wings, or at least 5 different types of fish... all in the same container! Thanks for giving us some options other than chinese food in the PTM. I have never ordered from the sandwich bar in the back, but seems to be pretty good.

Skip all the other places in the food court and definitely go out of your way to visit this place!

I normally wouldn't write a review of a buffet in a fake mall, or eat at one for that matter, but when I first started working at Peachtree Center, I had some seriously sad lunches before finding this spot. For what it is - a working week lunch buffet and sandwich shop- it is about as good as it gets. The vegetables are always fresh, the meat is oddly high quality, and the prepared dishes are always just a bit more thoughtful than you'd expect. Let's do a typical mall/ Ryan's/ suburban buffet vs. Cafe Momo comparison for illustrative purposes, shall we? off brand Velveeta mac & cheese vs. 3 cheese pasta with chicken and chipotle peppers "fish" vs. baked tilapia with lemon, dill, and red chili pepper wilted terrifying green shit vs. romaine, feta, purple onion, cucumber, olives, Greek dressing miscellaneous bits of fatty thigh and leg meat vs. pesto marinated chicken breast You get me. They always have salad, sushi, some kind of grilled chicken, and fruit salad. The chicken is chicken, not made of chicken, the fish is naturally shaped like a fish rather than a stick, etc. Other frequent offerings include lima beans, fried rice, baked chicken, baked tilapia, pot roast, bbq chicken wings, roast turkey, mashed potatoes, stir fry, steamed veggies. I almost always get the tilapia and lima beans, so satisfying on forgotten lunch days. The staff also gets two thumbs up for being super cheerful while wading through a bunch of hungry a$$holes in suits every day.

I didn't get to try out all the food stations on this visit but cafe momo is my favorite so far. They have a buffet breakfast in the morning. They charge by the pound. The price is very worth it. They have a hot sandwich area for lunch. I ordered a reuben sandwich and it was yummy. Just a tad skimpy on the meat, but it was fresh. I had to throw away a cup of coffee because it didnt taste right to me. Overall, this would be my first choice in the food court.

Cafe Momo is to die for!!! This is a GREAT buffet and the prices are cheap! I eat here often for breakfast and lunch and everything I put my mouth on is delicious! If you're ever in Peachtree Center you MUST eat here before going anywhere else.

One of the best spots in this mall. They have a breakfast buffet with healthy options available. As well as a great salad bar for lunch. I loved their kale salad as well as their egg salad. They have great variety in options for all palettes. The only thing is that you are charged by weight, so depending on what you get, it can be pricey. But the food is good. Service is mediocre. Not the friendliest. And when it's busy be prepared for people to push and shove. I was here during 2 major conferences so I had deal with the crowds. Not sure how it normally is.

I've been going to Dragon Con for years, now, and every year I end up at Momo to eat more than once. A self-serve buffet priced by weight, the cafe offers a wide variety of food and- perhaps most importantly for underslept and immune-impaired con-goers- fresh produce. The staff does a heroic job keeping everything stocked as crowds like swarms of locusts descend on a daily basis, with variety wide enough to meet most dietary requirements, particularly for lunch. Breakfast offered eggs, fish, chicken, sausage and more for protein, plus biscuits and french toast and fruit and the like. Lunch had an even wider variety of proteins, adding quinoa and chickpeas on the salad bar for vegetarians, vegans, or people who wanted lighter meals. You never get a side you don't want for the sake of a meal, you never get -more- than you want to pay for. It's not gourmet, but it's inexpensive and does precisely what it is meant to, and checkout is simple and swift. My only real complaint would be that the place isn't terribly well-ventilated and being near the steam tables at lunch on a hot day is... augh.

This place is pretty awesome. The selection is awesome and it's so busy that the food is fresh because they're constantly refilling the trays. They have southern favorites like fried catfish and collard greens to lots of fresh healthy salad options to sushi. The sushi was actually pretty good and not just California rolls. They had stuff like shrimp tempura rolls. All for a price lower than what you would pay at a place like whole foods.

    (4)
  • Nicole B.

Cafe Momo was definitely better quality than I expected from a mall buffet. There was a big selection of Asian food, sushi, southern favorites (mac n cheese etc.), and salad. This was a good stop for a quick lunch.

Food was good and inexpensive. Dont expect a 4 star meal its buffet style but it has lots of variety.

This review is for my experience with them during Dragoncon, since this is the only time I eat here each year. Pros: 1. Very convenient to the hotels. East to get in, easy to get out. Good prices on their items. 2. A large selection of items during the day. I mainly hit this place during breakfast to make life easier for me. If you keep it realistic, you won't pay a ton for the food. Get what you need, and go. This is my morning ritual each year for the con. Cons: 1. During peak times it can get crowded but that also means food will be very fresh during that time. Most of the con attendees will stick with their true fast food staples so don't fret too much. One more note, during peak times, you will most likely have zero chance of getting a seat at a table. You can always challenge someone to a duel for a spot, but don't be afraid to make new friends, especially if you're sitting by yourself. You might even find a cutie for yourself. 2. Some items are a little too greasy for my preference. The sushi was average, so you're better off getting from a spot that specializes in sushi. The secret to this place is knowing the best times to go there. Instead of going at the same time as everyone else, which is from 11:30 to 1:30, space out your need to stuff yourself at other times. The early mornings work the best for breakfast, pre-8:00 am, lunch around 2 - 4, and dinner later than 6:30 if possible. If you don't want to sit with strangers then you will park your behind on the floor or on some stairs. Think about it, sit in a chair and make new friends (or perhaps a lover. Mwuahahahahaha!) or sit on the floor, where people walk, with stuff on their shoes (imagination counts here boys and girls), and the potential of someone stepping on you, tripping over you, or ending up with a humongous derriere in your face while the winds of time gently blow your hair (or wig) back for that perfect balance of sewer gas and food entering your nostrils. I'll take the chair please.

Stopped in here for breakfast during Dragon*Con. Wide selection of food and what I got was tasty. Bacon was crisped to the point of disintegration, though. And the food wasn't hot. I saw some signs indicating there was a microwave available but who knows to use that before you leave with your food?

If I could give Cafe Momo 10 stars, I would! With all of the overpriced places in downtown Atlanta, Cafe Momo is a breath of fresh air. I got a HUGE breakfast and a medium coffee for $12. I would highly recommend Cafe Momo.

its early morning in atlanta and i need some breakfast. im sleepy, stinky, hungry and therefore a bit cranky. theres a whole bunch of people at momo, which is inside a retail/office space and a bit tricky to find. breakfast buffet consists of the classics, maybe i was there a bit too late but some of the meats looked like they were there for a while, i ate it all anyways cause like i said, i was hungry. either people were moving slow around the buffet or i was just too cranky but you must understand, i had been in a bus for 9 hours. at this point, im hating all people. happy thanksgiving you all.

Breakfast by the pound! Good choice when traveling and staying in downtown ATL. Lots of choices. Fresh fruits. Coffee. Inexpensive. They keep them coming.

I have never been disappointed in the food here - it's always fresh and delicious. They have a great variety as well. The prices are excellent - you pay by weight. It's pretty much self service. I am always impressed with how perfectly clean this place is. I like to stop in here for breakfast - perfect eggs, excellent kielbasa, toast, and coffee. Definitely a repeat customer here.

Fake mall, real buffet. Pro: It's likely the BEST OPTION in the food court. Con: It's likely the best option in the FOOD COURT. Working nearby, I've only eaten off the lunch buffet, which is blazing fast, polite (the people, I mean -- Momo does not feature sentient food items with an impending sense of doom), and only a little overpriced. Like with all pay-by-the-pound food, think out your strategy beforehand. I tend to grab the baked fish, pork loin, and items that are impractical to otherwise get in small quantities like the sushi. Said sushi? Not much selection, but perhaps better quality than RuSan's lunch buffet (and worse than Badayori, RIP). Shoutouts also to the chicken salad (the tiniest bit bland but great texture), asparagus (well-dressed and not overcooked!), and the... actually suprisingly fresh vegetables in general. Oh, and "Momo" is Japanese for "peach." Don't act like you were surprised.

After having spent 1.5 days in Atlanta, I was severely veggie- and fruit-deprived. That is exactly why I almost wet my pants and shivered in excitement like a teacup chihuahua when I saw veggie scrambles and beautiful assortment of fruits on the buffet tables. Then, some fried plantains and cheesy grits caught my attention; of course I had to get some (just for a taste). I was also hoping to get a muffin or pastry to snack on, but I stayed away from their baked goods (muffins/bagels/other pastries) for they did not look appetizing at all. I got a little over 1lb of food, paid for my food, grabbed a fork, and rushed back to my hotel room to devour my breakfast. Everything I got was pretty straightforward and nothing fancy, but that was exactly what I was looking for at that moment. I truly enjoyed my breakfast from Cafe Momo!

It was my regular morning walk that ended on Peachtree Street right in front of Cafe Momo. "Hmm.." I thought, "...who's Momo?" Certainly not the Italian motorsports company and definitely not that endangered character on Avatar. It's a self serve buffet-style restaurant that charges by the pound. Peaking in, I felt the need to snoop around a bit more before choosing my prey. To my surprise, they didn't serve the usual buffet style foods, everything looked like it took some effort and they even tried to plate them aesthetically on the warming treys. I like this place already! Ok, so this place looks quite clean and pretty for a fast foodie joint, now what about quality? The verdict? Cafe Momo, you are guilty of delicious food at a reasonable price and sentence to life of making me more with no parole... sorry. The jury totally agrees from the looks of the other reviews. It was surprisingly good! The barbecued items were lacking though, didn't seem like they did anything to the sauce sadly. As I picked my items out, I made sure to place a variety of items on my tray so that I wouldn't be stuck with one item that I might've hated. It was actually quite humorous watching the faces of the employees as I stacked up 8 items in one box. Don't forget to try the pasta salad also, it was one of my favorites! The texture of these items were expected to be dry due to the preparation and storing of the dishes, but they weren't bad at all! Some dishes were outright great. I'll be back Cafe Momo, because I didn't... it would be a crime.

I was downtown looking for a vegan option for lunch and stumbled upon cafe momo. A great option for someone looking for fruits and veggies for lunch- a little salty but compared to the other offerings in the food court, I was very happy. I was able to grab a good sized container of kale, peas, beans, fruit and avocado for $6!

I'm really stoked about this place! It reminds me of a lot of similar cafes/bistros/whatever people call them up in NYC. You pay by the pound. Honestly, if you know how to work it and choose wisely, it's not too bad. I can understand how some of the lower rated reviews may find this as a downside, but it's a real upside too. You have to choose wisely instead of hoarding whatever you want to eat. Do you really *need* those few extra bites? It's gonna cost you. It forces you to make wise decisions. As far as quality of food, I thought it was superb for the price. I ate breakfast and lunch here for a little over $7. I work in the building right next door, so I'll definitely frequent this place much more more. There's quite the selection all throughout the day to keep me picking something different for at least the next week! Props to you Cafe Momo. Props. :)

Definitely one of the better Peachtree Center food court options. The buffet is priced by the pound and I've never spent more than $10 there. I try not to load up on stuff with bones, of course. Their selection is pretty impressive, made up of entrees like meatloaf and pork loin, Chinese take-out staples like General Tso's chicken and beef & broccoli, a plethora of hot sides, a salad bar that includes prepared deli salads, and even sushi. And if you don't want to buffet it up, they do sell sandwiches made to order. I've never perused that section, but I bet it's good, too. Cafe Momo is a good as it gets for a mall food court. Not just because there are just so many choices, but because the vast majority of those choices are pretty darn good (and even the ones that aren't are just boring or bland, as opposed to being horrifyingly bad). Even my super duper picky co-worker likes coming here. I know you don't know him, but trust me, that's really saying something.

Cheap international eats. I am a fan. I work upstairs, and if you just want a salad, they have a nice selections of fresh fruits and veggies for breakfast and for lunch. They also have a hot side that offers baked fish daily, which is right up my alley.

Went here all the time for buffet style food when I worked downtown. They have hot and cold food, variety of drinks and desserts too. Your lunch could be as low as $3 if you wanted. Steady flow of customers all day but they always had food stocked up. Multiple counters and very quick service.

Excellent diverse lunch buffet @ $5.89/lb. & panini to order. This is in the food court near the Marta station at Peachtree. I agree with Whitney's assessment.

You can get with this or you can get with that! Chicken, beef, pork, fish, grilled, fried, baked, fruits, salads, sides, desserts, sushi, breakfast, lunch and dinner, you name it MoMo has it. Located in the heart of the Mall at Peachtree Center food court is literally a food haven for all. This weighted buffet offers hot and cold options where you can build healthy or hearty balanced meals. I go at least twice a week for salads or hot plates. Hungry for breakfast? Try the turkey sausage, chicken sausage, sweet plantains and scalloped apples. Ready for Lunch? The roasted turkey, grilled chicken breast or bourbon chicken paired with strawberry, Cesar or Greek salad is great! Seeking a Healthy Alternative? Everything is fresh and the strawberries, melon, watermelon, pears and yogurt with granola are all good. Interested in Dessert Only? Peach cobbler, blackberry cobbler, pecan pie and cookies are available at checkout. Breakfast is $4.89 a pound. Lunch is $5.89 a pound. The choice is yours. Enjoy! P.S. Did I mention it's weighted? Pace yourself at the buffet. Piling on more will cost you more. On average I spend about $6.50 with tax.

I came here one day for lunch with friends from the conference I was attending at the downtown Hilton. We would usually spread out to different places in the food court and meet back by the seating area but on this day we all chose to buy from here. They have a hot and cold buffet which is sold by weight. They have numerous meats and seafood, hot and cold veggies, pasta, rice and other grains, and salads. The food seems fresh and it seems like it gets sold quickly. I don't like knowing a salad bar and/or buffet doesn't sell their product fast because then you never know how old the food is you just purchased. There are fountain sodas, canned and bottled sodas for sale as well as juice drinks and water.

I was frantically looking for a good breakfast place.. refused to give in to starbucks or corner bakery, and thought i might go to the peachtree mall to take a look. thank goodness i found this place! it's a haven for cheap, good and fast breakfast!! everything's prepared fresh, and it has a WIDE selection. i had potato w/ vegetables, french toast, scrambled eggs and some hash browns. for a total of how much? $2.50!! and i also got a small cup of grits for just $1.40. it goes by /lb, and i didn't fill up my box. but it definitely filled up my stomach. i love cafe momo!

  • Chris D.

Good take-out buffet with plenty of offerings for breakfast and lunch, charged by weight. I usually go in the morning, getting 2 slices of French toast, 1 sausage, 1 fried egg, and 2 pieces of bacon for about $2.75 on average. The staff keeps the food coming hot and fresh, and they have 3 check-out lines that move customers pretty fast. Great if you're in a hurry or short on time for a bite to eat.

I came here for breakfast one Saturday. The only seating is in the "mall" food court. What kind of breakfast buffet limits you to 5 pieces of bacon and if you want butter for your grits or toast you better ask. They keep it behind the girls at the cash register. So they essentially ration the condiments. I won't do this again. How you can ration bacon and not even serve full slices is beyond me. The grits were AWFUL. No amount of salt or butter could turn that around. And good luck getting enough butter to try. I would rather pay the same amount for less food but better food. I won't be back.

Super cheap and quick! Just what I was looking for. Three fried eggs with bacon and a few potatoes $2.89!! Deal. Don't judge, I didn't eat dinner the night before. Plenty to choose from, French toast, fried , eggs, scrambled eggs, three different types of grits, fresh fruit...it's pay by the pound.

Dipped in right before closing time on a Monday, loaded up two clamshells (one meat, one veggie) and a fruit bin to pack lunches out of for a week of hotel based work. Total was just under $30. Only 1/4 of the material was put away that close to closing. Seems like a legit option in a forest of wretched chain restaurants, especially if you want some vegetables.

OMG! This is my spot for breakfast during Dragon*Con weekend. The food was delicious and cheap. Ive only been here for breakfast, and its served buffet style and food by pound. I highly recommend this place!

This place has great selection of different foods & isn't your typical buffet. Many healthy selections & it is very fresh. I really enjoyed the sushi, avocado salad & really everything else I selected was prepared well!. The bill was $20 for the two of us, which I felt pretty good about in downtown Atlanta! Planning to return tomorrow for breakfast!!

Was newly in town for work and hungry for lunch when I stumbled into this place. My initial trepidation about eating at a buffet in a mall was severely beaten back by my stomach and the sight of tons of yummy looking food. And it was yummy. As it was a buffet I tried a little bit of a lot of things and enjoyed nearly everything and wished I had taken more of a lot of things. This place is worth a look for lunch. It won't blow your doors off with service or with a fancy vibe, but the food is solid and quick, which a great for lunch. I'd go back if I lived in the area.
