Excellent meal served between lunch and dinner. Bob was pleased to find Warsteiner beer on tap, I tried the Columbia Crest merlot, very nice. For my meal I tried the North Carolina flounder cooked a meuniere (in butter, lightly dusted in flour with capers) sitting atop roasted potatoes and broccoli..My husband slurped up his tuna tartar atop avocado and sitting in soy blended with something. The bread served reminded me of my mom's raisin nut bread and also a French bread. Service was good with refills and chat and quick solving of the bill.

The food was excellent. Great job to the new chef there!!! The lighting was a little to dark as we couldn't see the menu but managed to make it work with our cell phones. The live band was great and the ambiance was exactly what I was looking for; sexy and mature crowd having a great time. I will definitely be going back. The location is a little hard to find. It is located in the Kroger shopping plaza off of Cobb Pkwy about a mile north of Copeland's (in the AMC theater plaza).

Bring your kids! One of the best deals on kids meals in town. Beautiful Buckhead ambiance and setting without the traffic. Try it and love it. Thank you for offering a Bermudian favorite the Dark and Stormy.

Would have given 4-5 stars. Food was delicious. Service was horrible and what made it worse is the arrogance of the server. Order also came out wrong - onions on salad. Meat not promoted properly and no one to tell. He never even came back and refilled the water (our only drinks). We had to ask for bread, ask for the check and ask check to be picked back up and paid. It was a 75-80 minute lunch.the restaurant was never at more that 40-50% capacity.

I am only writing a review for what I ate, not the entire menu. Blackened shrimp tacos on the lunch menu. Two soft shell tacos with a side salad were delicious. They have a decent selection of draft and bottle beer. Indoor and outside seating. Next time I will be more adventurous and try the sea bass. Prices are indicative of a seafood joint. They are a very classy, professional yet laid back.

Pretty good seafood, interior of restaurant feels a bit old, service is very good. Location is excellent if you are going to the Performing Arts Center. What was good: 1) Lot of tasty appetizers - shrimp cocktail, Salmon tartare, tuna tartare, crab cakes, etc. 2) The fish is really good - you have choice of 3 sauces and 3 ways of preparation. We had Black Cod broiled with the spicy-garlic-soy dressing. Was really excellent. 3) Dessert is not bad either. Sorbet was very good, and so was Chocolate fondant which is served with ice cream. What could be better: 1) The gumbo was rubbish. Avoid this dish. 2) The air in the restaurant is a bit stale - I docked a star for this. If you have an open kitchen you need better ventilation.

Pretty nice. Had dinner there this evening and had the Grouper with the Calamari as appetizer. Though being located in a strip mall, once you step in, you're translated to a really cozy ambience. Make sure you call to make reservations as it's not very large. Staff was polite and noticed someone who looked like a chef making the rounds. Food was good but not fantastic but a nice place to hang out generally!!

We saw C&S on TV ( Atlanta Eats ) and we were excited to go and sample the great seafood. We were early and went to the bar, great service, and found out that wine was 1/2 price bottles that night. Nice place and very comfortable, very upscale. We were seated 30 min after our reservations with our best friends and we were near the back near the kitchen. Noise level was pretty loud ! Hard to carry on a conversation... The food selection was good and we decided that everyone would order different dishes so we could sample several selections. I ordered Tuna and asked for it to be Blackened and cooked med rare.... It came out seared and cool.... My wife had the special fish of the day and it was very good. My friend ordered a Strip Steak,,,, go figure.... unfortunately is was TUFF.... ok but TUFF... Service was very good and overall if was a good experience but not up tho the hype of the TV promotion. Arnold was great and came around to greet us.... also gave us a complementary glass of wine to try

I was so happy to find somewhere that offered chargrilled oysters. We stopped in about 30 minutes before closing and was still seated and served. Our server was awesome and very personable. He didn't rush us or anything due to the time. We ended up ordering two dozen of chargrilled oysters and the parmesan fries. I was even given two raw oysters to try after a brief conversation I had with the server which were great as well. We will be returning.

I really enjoyed eating here. My husband is a huge seafood lover so it isn't hard to get him to take me to a restaurant like this. The ambiance is really nice and the waitstaff is very professional. I have to admit, we were expecting a bit more casual atmosphere but it ended up being fine. I don't think we were underdressed but I certainly wouldn't come here wearing a t-shirt and jeans. Months have passed since I visited, but I still think about the tuna tartare with the ponzu sauce and bits of avocado. Can barely wait to eat it again. Tried the goat cheese beignets and they were disappointing- definitely stick to their seafood fare since it's what they're known for.

Chargrilled Oysters alone are worth going to this restaurant. Yum. King crab legs are always good and they crack for you! Great restaurant. Love!

Great meal, great service. I was a little apprehensive given the mixed reviews but we'd been to Hugos and decided to give it a go. Glad we did. Started with some oysters - good recommendation from the server - they tasted great. Had swordfish and tuna. Both were good cuts, cooked properly, and tasted great. I always consider the quality of the vegetables as a mark of how much care a restaurant takes in the meal - the broccoli and potatoes were cooked perfectly. Finished the night off with some key lime pie.

Knew it was going to be a great restaurant right when I walked in. Scenery is very nice and cozy and the service was excellent. The seafood is fresh and delicious, but a little pricey. Would definitely recommend to any seafood lovers!!

Love this place! I was searching for a nice cozy, restaurant on the elegant side but serving real food, not just a la carte. This place hit the spot! The waitress was stupendous; personable, fast, efficient, accommodating and the food was delicious! I will definitely be back. 3rdeyecafe.com

This place is Crazy good! We started with the seafood platter and calamari. Yeah! WOW! The king crab was perfect and delicious. My meal was wonderful. I ordered the 22oz Ribeye medium rare. It was perfect! Our server Adrian was awesome and did a good job topping of drinks and making sure the whole table was taken care of.

Really good food. I love the oyster selection and the clam chowder is one of the better I have had. My issue is that I always feel like they wish I wasn't there, the servers make me feel like I'm wasting their time. So after dining there 4 times in 4 months I think I'll find a place that's a bit more warm.

Great place for fantastic seafood. Chargrilled oysters are so addicting! I can eat a whole order by myself easily. I had the king crab salad last night and it was super delicious. The crab meat was generously portioned and buttery. The avocado, shiitake and tomato provided a great balance and the dressing was perfect! I had mine without red onion.

We celebrated our recent engagement with family last night. It was our first experience at C&S, and any expectations we had were exceeded. Arnold treated us with refreshing hospitality. Our waiter, Ricky, was aware and very knowledgable of the chefs specials. The seared seabass was perfection. The Ahi Tuna Hawaii was one of the tastiest steaks I have had in Atlanta. Baked oysters were well prepared with the perfect amount of toppings so that the oyster taste wasn't lost. The desserts were tasty, nothing mind blowing, but enjoyable. Nice wine selection. Overall, it was the best dining experience I have had in recent memory.

The best seafood place in Atlanta in my opinion. I'm am a semi-regular here. Good wine list. Great bar (esp. Bourbon selection). Very personal service. All seafood is delish & fresh. I've never been dissappointed.

I tried C & S Seafood this week with a group of coworkers while traveling. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The live music certainly added to the ambiance. The menu was awesome. These folks know how to do seafood! The waiter was a little cranky but very attentive and earned his tip. He even brought a few small hand towels for one of our rain-soaked colleagues. Everyone at the table tried a different fish entree, including their oyster special and raved about it. The only oddity: the televisions in the room. The atmosphere doesn't support the need for them. Also, the noise level is pretty substantial. I would eat here again.

To start a party of 4 came here to celebrate my best friends birthday. Although the manager (I assume) recognized this when we checked in, our waiter Daniel G. didn't until we told him at the conclusion of our dinner, then he brought the champagne. The food was ok, but the service put a damper on our experience. He was not attentive or seemingly enthusiastic about his job. Although he was mediocre, he received $47 in tips which was more than the expected 15%. This imbecile had the audacity to come to my husband with the check and question him about being pleased with the service in a combative tone because he was not pleased with the tip! This was done in such poor taste that we had to complain. Fortunately the manager seemed to be handling it while we were leaving.

This place is a solid four stars for seafood in Atlanta. The service was top notch and more than was expected for the location. As for the food is was good quality food but not five star great, some things were great but others missed the mark. Worth visiting but not worth writing home about. As for the food... the oysters were very fresh and tasty, the clam chowder was good, as for the main dish the sword fish um... not the highlight. Dessert was almost better than the oysters.

I have such mixed feelings about this place. The first visit was great--service and food were both excellent, though it was on the pricey side compared to portions. The second visit was what ruined it for me. I went with my mother on a Thursday night for their oyster special (dozen for $10). The server didn't introduce himself and just asked "What do you want to drink"after we sat down. I ordered 3 dozen oysters, but did not think to specify that I wanted them raw. I also ordered a half dozen of the raw clams. On the same note, the server did not think to ask whether I wanted them grilled or raw. The server returned with 3 dozen baked oysters, and although I felt bad, we returned them and asked for raw oysters. The server then objected saying that I had specified that I wanted the grilled oysters and then stomped off after I insisted that I never specified which one I wanted. The rest of the night turned spectacularly shitty. He plopped down the trays of oysters and never once came to check on how things were. I will also note that I ordered 2 bottled beers. The first was given to me with a glass and the opened bottle. The second bottle of that same beer (after the oysters were returned) was given to me already poured in the glass with no bottle in sight. Suspicious... I informed the restaurant manager of everything that had gone wrong, but I got the feeling that he didn't want to listen. He just gave me his business card and asked me to come back next time and ask for him. Guess I can't expect much service when management's service is spotty to begin with. Fat f'ing chance. Oysters were freakin' awesome though.

Holy unexpected, Batman! How often do you expect to hear there's a great, upscale restaurant is in a Kroger shopping center? So the wifey and I recently move less than 5 minutes from C&S. And we'd driven by dozens of times, without too much thought. Until one of her coworkers recommended it. So tonight, a random Thurs night, we felt like going out to eat, and she suggested C&S and off we went. First off, the place is pretty nice. Not stuffy, pretentious nice, but "wouldn't be out of place to take someone for a very special meal" nice. The details: -Shrimp and Goat Cheese Beignets - in retrospect, I realize the shrimp was not even noticeable, however, these things were light, fluffy bites of deliciousness. Not at all what I expected. -Grilled oysters - I could've eaten several more plates of these. Outstanding. -Flounder entree - first off, flounder is not something I would generally order, but the server highly recommended it. And rightfully so. As my wife described it, it's light and creamy, with the perfect amount of parmesan. But wait, there's more...the spinach it's served on, while simple, was perfect. If I had to pick a nit, I'd say it was light on the crab, but I can overlook that because it was fantastic. -Tuna Entree - also delicious, with a very nice arugula salad. Service was good - a bit stiff and rushed at times, but overall he was on top of things and made good recommendations. As an avid foodie, I'm trying to figure out how this place was never on my radar before?? It's fantastic. Consider this a provisional 5-Star based on 1 visit, but I'll certainly be back to round out my opinion.

Went there tonight for Christmas dinner, and doubt I'll go back. It wasn't great, it wasn't terrible, it was just....meh. The service and food were mediocre, and for the same price, I could have an amazing dinner at so many restaurants in Atlanta. It was fairly busy tonight, as in most tables were full, but no one was waiting in line, so I'm sure they've seen busier. Our server, Ian, was rushed and less than polite. I asked about the four specials listed on the chalkboard outside, and he gave me a very vague description of only two of them. He continued to barely acknowledge us for the rest of the dinner, awkwardly reaching over us to clink down our plates and fill glasses, never responding to our thank you's. My boyfriend ordered a filet, medium. It came out as one of the rarest steaks I've ever seen. He nicely asked them to cook it for a few more minutes, and they handled it very promptly and politely. We've never sent food back before, so that should tell you how off the mark it was, although we appreciated them being nice about it. However, when you have to send your food back and wait ten minutes for it to come back out, it would be nice to get a free dessert, 10% off, or something. None of that happened. I ordered the Crab and Parmesan Crusted Flounder -- the fish had definitely been frozen previously, and there was not a speck of crab to be seen. As for the "crust" -- it was actually what looked to be melted cheddar (bright yellow) cheese. The flavor was good, but for $27, it just was not where it needed to be. For $92, we could have had a delicious dinner with stellar service somewhere else, I doubt we'll go back.

Visited C&S this past weekend with friends (party of four). We have been there several times over the past few years. Food is always great. Late Saturday afternoon we decided to invite friends. Called and asked. Clearly the hostess looked up my name then consulted the Maitre D. I must have had enough 'star ratings' to be accommodated. The maitre d there has always been very good at his job. Personal greetings, excellent at remembering names or at least reviewing names of guests with reservations before they arrive. Until this past weekend service has always been superb. Maybe my mistake was asking about my "regular" waiter when we were first seated. Without naming the waiter, service seemed slower than what I was used to. Ok, peak time. I asked the maitre d. He said yes, very busy all at once. Our appetizers did get out. Then it took what seemed a long time to find our waiter to order dinner. I asked the maitre d' again. He added another waiter to our table. He worked at a much better tempo and had some personality. Perfect. Dinner is served. We seem to be in nowhere land now. Activity has slowed somewhat and apparently we are back to our first waiter. Long periods (15-20 minutes) would go by and we would not see him anywhere. He did finally show and ask if we wanted dessert. Yes. I timed...it was 22 minutes before he came back to take our order. At that point I said forget it. This is all dragging on entirely too long. I got the check from the maitre d'. According to him I was the only one complaining. I am not that difficult to please but I do have some minimum expectations. My wife is always very fair. She agreed something was not right. Even my guests noted that the waiter just did not seem that interested. Something was definitely not right that evening. Maybe just a combination of factors that will not occur often. It will be a while before we return. Probably will return, eventually, to give it another chance. At the prices charged (and tips), service should be superb...and historically it has been.

I used to really like C&S. The food was fresh and well prepared. The service was attentive. The price was high, but it always felt like a worthwhile experience. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was really bad. I didn't just come straight here and bash them; I contacted them first and explained the situation in the email that I have pasted below. For some reason they chose not to respond. I still wanted to work things out with them rather than condemning them publicly so after five days of no response I followed up. They still didn't respond. Below I have copied the emails that I sent to C&S. (I made a couple small tweaks to them so they will make more sense to an outsider.) ============ "Hello, While I don't live in the area, for special occasions I'm happy to make the drive to C&S to for an exceptional meal. Unfortunately, last night's meal (December 27, 2013) was not exceptional in service or food. It took our waiter an extended period of time to acknowledge us, probably because he was busy drinking and goofing off with other tables. He couldn't help us with selecting the oysters on offer and we ended up getting very different types of oysters than we asked for. We wanted small, briny and minerally and got just the opposite. I didn't get the beer that I ordered when we were finally first acknowledged until after we finished our oysters. This beer was served with more than 60% foam in the glass. The server said something about topping it off, but never did, probably because he was too busy drinking and goofing off with other tables. Our entrees were not up to the usual C&S standards. The Parmesan-crusted flounder was burned on the bottom (see Rachael W's review on here for more on that dish) and the crab in the stuffed shrimp was a bit off, not so terribly that I thought I would be sick, but still somewhat unpleasant and far from what I expected from a restaurant of C&S's caliber. Our waiter wouldn't know because he never checked on us, probably because he was busy drinking and goofing off with other tables. Our bill for two entrees, 9 oysters, 1 soft drink and a (half full and flat) beer was $97. That would be a fine value had the food and service been at its usual quality. However, the neglectful service and carelessly assembled food resulted in a disappointing dining experience at C&S. Thank you for your time." ============ I waited five days after sending that email and received no response. I really didn't want go public with my complaint if it was just an off night and they were willing to make it right, so I followed up with the email below. I then waited another day before posting this publicly. If they don't care enough to try to make things right with a disgruntled customer, I suppose they don't mind this kind of "publicity" on social media. ============= "Hello, I sent the email above 5 days ago and the (lack of) response has been more apathetic than the service and food preparation at my disappointing recent C&S experience. I tried to be respectful and give C&S management the opportunity to respond to my situation before going public with my review. Since C&S has chosen to ignore my email I will be posting it on Open Table and Yelp with an explanation that C&S was given the chance to respond before I went public. I'm truly sad that C&S has shown such lack of concern as I had been a longtime fan. I will miss the good food and service that I had previously experienced, but I will not spend my money on bad service, mediocre food, half-filled beverages and disinterested customer service." ===== I know it's the holiday season and things can go a bit differently than the rest of the year, but this was a special post-holiday meal for my husband and me and we were given no reason to expect anything less than the usual high quality food and service for which C&S are known. Also, is there some reason they don't answer email for a full week during this time of year? I won't be returning to C&S. In the future my money will go to any of the places in town (Kimball House, Fontaines, Atlanta Fish Market, Shucks, Goin' Coastal, The Optimist, even Bonefish and Steamhouse Lounge) that have repeatedly proven that they value my money and time more than C&S.

We shared the monster shellfish platter (with the monster price.) For the most part the shell fish was just average: clams were small and not cold-water clams, oysters were small/average size ... the exception was the crab legs: they were huge and plentiful and quite good. Atmosphere is a bit pretentious and certainly noisy. Not likely to do again.

    (3)
  • Ric S.

Well it was OK but not to rave about. The portions were very small for the price and the service was quite slow. I ordered a glass of wine to drink with my oysters yet I never got it and just unordered it.

This place is excellent and my first choice for pre- show dining at Cobb. Try the white Manhattan and the sea bass over bok choy is out of this world fantastic. The atmosphere is of a classic NY seafood/ stark crossing with a Parisian bistro- it is very fun yet romantic. The raw bar has a wonderful selection and the service and presentation are fantastic.

I visited C&S while on a business trip. I had the crab encrusted flounder and Parmesan truffle fries. Flounder was good! The only thing I didn't like was that there was a slight burnt taste on the 'crust'. My colleague had the halibut, and he thought it was amazing. The Parmesan truffle fries are good too.

I had dinner here last night with five friends. We had no complaints of any kind. The food from appetizers to salads to entrees was excellent. The service was what all restaurants should aspire to - reserved, professional, anticipating but not inserting themselves into your conversation. Why not five stars? I reserve that for the absolutely exceptional place. C & S is close.

Every time I come to this Vinings gem, I have the most incredible meal. Just tasted their summer menu... um, just do yourself a favor and have the blackened trout with pink eyed pea saute and crab bearnaise. Your tummy will thank me later. The Tuna tartare done asian style is the perfect opener too. I always forget about this place because I don't live nearby, but every time I stop in, I'm wowed. It's this kind of hard to find, white table cloth service that still has a low key vibe and casual atmosphere. The raw bar is to die for too. As usual, I'm a foodie that's swooning.

My boyfriend and I tried this place out a few weeks ago. I had bought a HalfoffDepot coupon to use at this place. This place is AMAZING. Our server was so, so nice. He was so kind and helpful in helping us select our entrees and appetizers. Appetizers: Oyster & Clams Combo - Delicious! I've never had clams or oysters, but seeing it made me want to try it. SO GOOD. Each was prepped and topped w/ toppings different. Calamari- My favorite. The best calamari I have ever had. Entrees: Salmon w/ mashed potatoes & asparagus - so tender, melted in my mouth. The mashed potatoes were perfect and so were the asparagus. Swordfish w/ creamed spinach and crispy onion rings - MUST TRY. The onion rings were stacked high and were huge. The spinach was my boyfriend's favorite part of the dish. The swordfish was tender and juicy. The bread was warm and crispy served w/ butter. It is unlimited. The server was NOT stingy about bringing out more bread.. It was regular bread and raisin bread. This restaurant has a full bar, a outside patio, booths, and tables. This place gives you a home-y feeling since there are photos along the walls and three tvs (volume was not disturbing). TRY IT OUT! I would definitely visit this restaurant in the future. One of my all time favorites now. It's on the pricey side, but the portions are big and you are paying for what you are getting. It's like $30-35/ person. It's SEAFOOD!

This is by far my favorite Seafood restaurant in town. I love that it is hidden in a strip mall. A hidden gem! Service is fantastic from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. My most recent visit was on Father's day. My dad really enjoyed his sea bass. It looked amazing and I kind of regret not getting it myself. I had the lobster special. I don't normally order such, but I felt like doing something different. The lobster was great. The cole slaw was a bit spicy and not my favorite. We had a couple of great drinks from the bar. I could definitely see myself posted up at the bar enjoying a drink and a small plate or too. I recommend.

Friday night at 5:30pm or so. The place is busy but not packed (yet). I'm alone so I sat at the bar. The menu is not expansive but covers a great amount of seafood. All of it looks good as it goes by from the kitchen. The bar is well stocked and Alana, the bartender, asks if I want bitters in my manhattan - bravo, I love a good bartender. The manhattan is excellent. Alana comments on a few dishes on the menu. I order the crab meat cocktail and lobster tail (sub the parmesan truffle oil fries). The crab cocktail might be the best I have ever had (move over Sullivan's). The mustard sauce is not necessary because the crab is so good but try it anyhow. The lobster tail is broiled and perfectly cooked. It is sweet and I don't think I even tried the butter is was so good. The fries were just a touch undercooked for my taste but I like crispy. Alana remained personable even as it got busy. She was the perfect blend of attentive but not bugging me as I caught up on the day. Based on my experience I would recommend this restaurant highly.

Not impressed. The food was ok and definitely overpriced. This place has been around a while and used to be really popular and in my opinion high end for the location and price. The food presentation was sloppy and service was mediocre. We sat at the bar and ordered overpriced drinks that were good. The ordered the parm cheese oysters. They were good but looked like they where thrown on the plate. We ordered the filet and also the crab legs (2 entrees). Steak was ok but my gripe is they don't have ANY steak sauce and I know technically you aren't supposed to put steaksauce on a steak that is a good cut of meat and cooked right but this wasn't. I needed the sauce to give it some flavor. They brought me a small gravy boat full of a peppercorn sauce that was awful and they charged me $3 for it. I could have gone next door to Kroger and bought a whole bottle of A1 Steaksauce for that price. I doubt I will ever go back there. Overpriced, small portions and ok service.

First off, I hate writing bad reviews. But, I was not satisfied in anyway Now, maybe this place is more for people of the acquired taste, but I was not pleased. Me and my sister ordered a dozen of the char-grilled oysters along with another dozen of the regular oysters. They have a nice variety of the type of oysters; although I can't remember which ones we ordered, they were good. Unfortunately, the char-grilled oysters were extremely small as well as the regular ones. For an entree, I had the market fish option of the seared Salmon. My sister had the stuffed shrimp. Both were pretty mediocre. The presentation of both entrees were nice, but the meals themselves were bland. My salmon came with two steak potato wedges with broccoli. My salmon was rather bland and I only truly tasted the grill, despite the fact I had the lemon herb sauce to go on top. Overall, this is a very upscale and classy place with a beautiful aviance. Other people may have enjoyed this place, but us, not so much. Pretty disappointed. Will not be coming again..

Arnold and Adrian were exactly the one, two punch that I needed for my very special date. They were outstanding! Their knowledge of the food and wine was exceptional. They made it easy for my date and I to just sit back and enjoy the evening knowing we were in good hands. The ambiance was awesome! Good food. Good wine. Good drinks. I've had only a handful of perfect dates and this was one of them. My hat is off to the guys that made it possible, Arnold and Adrian. Great Job Guys and I'll see you again real soon!

Duly noted, never to spend my money here again! Food was subpar! Right away i notice the fish in a freezer bin that was open the whole time! need I say watch out for future occupancies of food poisoning! My salmon was over cooked, I have had better fish at longhorns! Ambiance was crowded and very loud! Drinks we're good not the best! Prices were outrageous for what you get! Service forgettable! For the price I paid with bringing 9 others I would have hoped we would of had better service! I think I only saw my waiter twice once for drinks and once to get my payment! Ugh can I say bad customer service, he didn't even earn the 20 percent tip he was given! Please do not frequent this place unless you want to be utterly disappointed! Good luck for those who dare to brave this restaurant and it's regrettable experience. What a waste of my Saturday night.

I like this place. Great service, food and wide selection of oysters on the half shell. Arrived early, around 6PM for dinner with the family. We were the first and the restaurant was ready for us. I like a restaurant where there is enough help to provide the right amount of service. This place had 2 bartenders, and at least 6-8 servers. Needless to say, the service was prompt. Best thing about this place is the oysters. They had kumamoto's and that is a big plus in my book. The fish was done just right and the lemon butter sauce is awesome. In short, a great place for a treat. It's pricey but, I believe you will agree with me once you tried it and experienced the service and the food.

Really enjoyed it. We went last night, and I got the special: blackened redfish. They had an interesting cocktail menu, but I stuck with wine and beer. They had a pretty solid wine list. I also tried my wife's dish, the Flounder. The waiter highly recommended it. When he brought it, it looked extremely unhealthy, to the point of being gross (coated with melted cheese), but looks can be deceiving: it was really good. They have a really nice bar too, that I would totally spend some time at if I lived nearby. We went very late, the cooks were literally walking out (and had to return when we ordered dessert), so they are accommodating.

My husband and I have had dinner here alone and with our grown children many times. We thought my parents who have recently relocated here from the Northeast might enjoy it also. We arrived a few minutes early for a 6:30 reservation and while waiting for our table to be readied, watched silently as two parties of 2 and 4 arrived with 6:30 reservations and were shown to booths. When I addressed this with the hostess, the manager stepped in to say that one party had had a 6:00 reservation (they had not and this was confirmed by the hostess) and that the other party had reserved a particular table. Once seated, the server proceeded to rush us through the ordering process. We asked to sit and enjoy our cocktails for a bit. This was a mistake because when we ordered the Sunday evening lobster specials, the server informed us that they had just run out. How do you run out of your weekly special? Needless to say, my parents were unimpressed. We will not be back.

Had dinner there for the first time 7/12/14. Food was great. Service was poor at best. Luckily we came for the sea bass & did not have yo ask for guidance from our so-called waiter. Made no attempt to offer information about the specials. We ordered a chopped salad, he brought a cobb salad. Zipped plates on & off the table, luckily we were finished. Very loud in our area, wait staff congregated in a group more than they attended patrons. Lighting at table made reading the menu next to impossible. Would visit again, but with specific input as to seating area & a prior request to the manager to assign a waiter willing & able to engage!

Nice spot in a strip mall North of Atlanta (not near downtown though). Good seafood, nothing spectacular, but good quality and fresh. Service was quite good and was easy to get a table (granted was on a Tuesday evening). If you in the Cobb area, it is worth a try.

In short for all those that want a quick review: It is a pricey place, portions are small, service is okay, but food is great! Idea for price range for two people is $90 not including appetizers. Cons: First off the directions were off on google maps! it kept on telling us that we passed the restaurant when we had not even reached it! So I had to call up the restaurant for them to tell me its in a kroger parking lot! My first thought when I pulled up was omg its in a kroger parking lot! So I walked in thinking this is just going to be a bad experience! However, completely opposite! So I have to take a star away for the service! Horrible service! The waiter was never around. He wasnt available to get our drinks order, someone else had to. And then did not even come by us till like 15-20 minutes after we sat down to explain the menu/specials! When I got my food the first thought I had was what is this? The portion is sooo small!! I'm sorry but if I am paying 32 for an entree, I do want a good sized meal! The whole time I was thinking, I hope this fills me up! Pros: Even though the portion was small, the taste was great! I loved the halibut!! It was really good! Someone at my table ordered the Sea bass and I had a bite of that and I loved that as well! So the stars are based on food alone! I do recommend this place and I would definitely go back there again!

A birthday dinner surprise! I often shop at the Kroger in the same plaza. Who knew this little gem was tucked over in the corner. Absolutely 5 star service! Cozy and ultra clean atmosphere. Complete table setting, including bread plates and actual butter knives. They serve a delicious fruit type bread in addition to others. We ordered the calamari appetizer- delicious and tender! And the mussels, tiny, ample serving and the best I have ever had, Agave, you have been chopped! BTW, when the bill came, the comment - " Wow, you are a cheap date"- lol. That is to say the prices are GREAT!!!

My husband and I come here for grilled parmesan oysters! DELICIOUS! We usually sit at the bar and every bartender has been wonderful! This last time we came with another couple and sat at a table. Server was great, however the kitchen was off! My friend ordered a filet medium rare (warm red center) however it came out nearly well done (slightest bit of pink but barely)- I'm very familiar with the difference of steak temperatures, as I used to work at an upscale steak house in Atlanta for almost six years. We were those people; we had to send the steak back. I absolutely hate sending food back but my friend could not eat a well done steak. The second steak came out BLOODY RARE! I am talking tartare rare. The chef literally cooked the steak for 1 minute on each side! A rare steak is better than a well done steak so she ate the cold steak! The server was very apologetic, even though it was not his fault. Our other friend ordered the steamed sea bass and he said he enjoyed it. My husband and I ordered 2 dozen grilled parmesan oysters and shrimp cocktail as our dinner. Usually my husband orders the stuffed shrimp if they have it, but it's not on the menu and is featured as a weekly specialty. If you come here, come for the grilled oysters and great service! You will not be disappointed! Stay away from the filet, as the chefs are clueless on how to properly cook a steak.

I am from NY (state, not city) and have eaten here twice, to much satisfaction. My first visit I would rate 5-stars, specifically because the waiter enhanced the dining experience. That is the only difference between visit #1 and visit #2. In both instances, the food was spectacular. In visit #2, a different waiter couldn't be bothered rendering an opinion, when asked which oysters he recommended tonight; "they're all good" is an 'I don't care' response. Would I go here again when I am in town? You bet. The food alone is worth the visit. I just hope I get a waiter, like my first visit, that cares enough to make my dining experience "an experience."

Server wasn't super enthusiastic but the food was excellent! We ordered different types of oysters as our appetizer and they were fresh and very flavorful with great condiments to enhance the flavor. The entrees were surf and turf and sea bass with bok choy. They both came out great! The lobster was tender and moderate-sized, the beef had a slight crisp on the outside as the interior was still juicy and tender, cooked perfectly as requested! The seabass was moist with each layer. I would definitely come here again for my seafood/steak cravings!

We won't be going back to C & S Seafood and Oyster Bar. Had the seared salmon entree. Not terrible, but definitely not worth the $38 price. The salmon was served over vegetables (mostly bell peppers), which were limp and slimy. Hubby had the sea bass entree, which was very bland. The only good thing about our meal was our server. He was attentive and polite.

Very average. We've been for inner 3 times now over about 3 years, and think it has steadily gone downhill. Wife ordered the strip, I had the ahi tuna with the soy ginger sauce. Both were very dry, especially since mine didn't come with the sauce! Also ordered the smoked trout dip and New England Chowder as appetizers. The chowder was good; the dip was straight out of the fridge....not what we expected. Service was fair, actually a little hit / miss. They do have really good cocktails, however. We won't be returning any time soon.

Best grilled oysters this side of New Orleans! Love, love, love this place. Upscale but not stuffy atmosphere, excellent service and great seafood. Hidden away in a strip mall makes it a gem worth finding. Not flashy just very good.

I got back from dinner at C & S a few hours ago. I fully intended on writing quite a long and full review. My montrin pm just kicked in. Now I am nodding off. I shall return in the morning, but basically, I found C & S to be unquestionably average. Bon nuit. Until morning. ______________________________________________________ Alrighty. I'm back. Maybe I expected too much from C & S...as I tend to do when I'm paying upwards of $200 dollars for a meal. But hey, that's just me. The food at C & S was good. Not great and not bad, just good. Went with 3 other people and my nephew (a 6 year old with a distinguished palette) and we ordered a bunch of stuff and shared it. We got: To Drink: 1) The ginger limeade: I mean...if I'm being honest...it tasted like batteries. I'll leave it there. 2) Chocolate milk: My nephew selected this one. This is a man who knows his chocolate milk. He was underwhelmed. Twas unfortunate. Appetizers: 1) Shrimp and goat cheese beignets: These were very good. But I'm a sucker for goat cheese so I would've loved them regardless. The only critque is that there wasn't nearly enough shrimp in the beignets. It was more of a shrimp flavored goat cheese beignet. 2) Crab cake: Totally delicious. No complaints. Main Courses 1) I paired the 6oz center cut filet with a half order of scallops and the lemon herb beurre blanc sauce. I ordered my steak medium and it came to me medium-well. I wasn't totally sure what I was supposed to do with that. Moving on to the scallops. They were very good. Cooked well, I enjoyed them. The sauce was delicious with them. 2) Garlic Spinach- Too salty. Too lemony. Lost the spinach flavor. 3) Fried Shrimp and Oysters- This was delicious and it was obvious that frying seafood is where the restaurant shines. Delicious. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly fried. Mmmm. Desserts: 1) Creme Brulee- I get creme brulee about once a month. I've been doing this for about the last 10 years of my life. Suffice it to say, I know my shit. This was not creme brulee. It was jello pudding with a creme brulee top. Moving on. 2) Key lime tart- Average. I've had better at Barnes and Noble. The service was lovely though. Very friendly guys. And shout out to the 6'3 asian that the other reviewer mentioned. He's awesome.

Have eaten here several times at lunch and dinner. It's extremely expensive for what you get and sometimes you don't feel like it is worth it. But some of the oysters are phenomenal as are the crab cakes. Sorry the crab cake. You only get one for $16. But it may be the best one I have ever had. Generally the seafood and sides hit the mark. Sometimes exceptional, sometimes disappointing, but generally the good outweigh the bad at this restaurant.

I was very dissapointed. Redfish was bland and overcooked. I hate to leave such a negative review but was thoroughtly disgusted with waiter and food. I will not return and will tell as many as I can about this place. Way over rated. My girlfriend did not even get past the salad but insisted I finish my meal....wish we had left while we were ahead. Avoid.

It was Mom's 89th birthday and she wanted to go to her all time fav place -- C&S. Our waiter (Tyrell?) was fantastic. To say that Mom is demanding is an understatement. She wanted everything prepared differently than the way it was on the menu. Tyrell was good natured and ensured the kitchen made everything just the way she wanted. Hold the sauce? No problem? Toast the bread? But of course. Boiled potatoes instead of mashed? Of course, ma'am. I started with beignets with shrimp and goat cheese inside which were pretty, but tasteless. The sauce on top was good, but would have been just good on cornchips or sawdust, for that matter. The tuna with puttanesca sauce was excellent. What I don't understand is how a place like C&S ended up at a strip mall on Highway 41 -- the highway the Allman Bros sang about. They may call it Vinings, but it's still on the four-lane headed out to the Big Red Chicken. Next time I'm in Atlanta I'm heading out 41 for oysters and champagne at C&S.

I absolutely love this place. 1st off the service is EXCELLENT! I hosted my hubby's birthday dinner here with 20 of our closest friends, the manger ensured our every need was attended to. No one in the group had any complaints, everyone loved their food drinks and appetizers. I brought in a cake and they sliced and served it for me. I had the stuffed Shrimp and baby it was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. It just might be my favorite seafood restaurant in the city,

Exceeded my expectations. Comfortable classic decor, friendly place and not too loud, excellent service from informed and friendly staff. The seafood is fresh (I've lived in Florida I know fresh fish) prepared nicely and served quickly. A small non-chain place that gets it right. I'm going back and taking a friend.

My wife and I stopped by early on a Saturday evening, and we were surprised by the ambience, which is warm New Orleans brasserie. Very inviting, especially given its location in a Kroger strip mall off Cobb Parkway. Before dinner, my lovely bride had a vodka martini -- the green olives were hand-stuffed with blue cheese, a nice touch. I had a crisp sauvignon blanc from New Zealand. To start, we shared their chopped salad, a house specialty, which was freshly chopped and served with a light creamy dressing. My wife had the grouper meuniere and I had blackened red snapper, prepared Cajun-style (i.e., topped with crawfish sauce). Both dishes were prepared perfectly. We finished the meal with a couple of glasses of 20-year-port. Service by our waiter, Anthony, was top-notch. The owners and GM clearly know their business and customers, and they have created an excellent seafood restaurant.

Something was off here. I might be responsible for some of the blame with very bad ordering choices - however C &S will have to share some of the blame. I will say that my server was very professional, the table set up was well done with white table clothes and good clean restaurant design. One star and three quarters I ordered a glass of Maker's Mark. It was a fair enough drink but I was served a better drink for half the price at Taco Mac last week. Recommendation: Improve your glassware and do a better job on the ice than the half melted ice that came with my drink. Here was my mistake - this is what I ordered Manhattan Clam Chowder and the Flounder with capers. Strange, yeah I know. I just was not feeling like Ahi Tuna or Sea Bass or Swordfish. I felt like keeping it light. The Manhattan Clam Chowder was served in a strange bowl that resembled a gravy bowl with no pour spout. Some genius in the back must have made the decision that I just love parsley because they dumped a heap of it on top of the clam chowder. It completely interfered with the taste. This is was the first clue that presentation does not lead to perfect execution at C &S. Manhattan clam chowder is served many different ways and I was envisioning an aromatic steaming bowl of chowder with a rich broth and pieces of clams. NOT THEIR STYLE. In fact it had the most unusual consistency for a soup and it almost reminded me a of a cooked, chunked and slightly congealed salsa and devoid of broth. I felt that the only three ingredients were tomatoes, onions and random bits of clam. Any other vegetables were totally overshadowed. Sounds strange but I just could not place how the recipe was devised. There was some clam included in the mixture but it was really light. I would have to give this a complete F grade. Not my style and I would be surprised if it was yours. I prefer Manhattan Clam Chowder to New England style and I was really hoping for a great soup but was disappointed. I just read another review that said it was too salty. I drank 3 full glasses of water after I ate the soup. So, I obviously whiffed with ordering the Flounder. It was served over a bed of overcooked julienne carrots and snow peas. They were overcooked to the point that I wondered if the thought I had really old brittle teeth. I was also really disapointed to encounter several untrimmed snow peas. Great snow pieces are served vibrant green but these were a depressed pea soup green. I was served two uninspired dry potatoes....a depressing offering of vegetables. Now the flounder was served warm and COVERED in capers...every single inch and boy was it salty. Let's not kill this situation. It was not well prepared. I have had great fresh flounder served to me and this was not it. I will say some positive stuff - the bread was fresh and I tried another person's Sea Bass in miso that was cooked properly but sort of drab. I am searching for some better things to say here. Too many things missed on my soup and fish. Originally, I thought I was to blame but in retrospect - it was mediocre. I was the guest of another person and frankly, I ate most of my meal. I am a guy and I can eat just about anything and I would feel bad to stick someone for $50 and not eat what I ordered. I would be very cautious to return. Why? It was expensive - close to $50 for all of that. Now that I think of it, I was not crazy about the bench seating that I had. I felt like the dining companion I was with sitting across from me was looking down on me. A strange set up. There are better seafood options closer to where I live. Why ONE STAR? It is too expensive a restaurant to miss this badly. Really. If I am complaining about an expensive cocktail and comparing you to Taco Mac....if I am the gm, then I would have some concern. At the very least don't order what I ordered.

Dropped in today for a business lunch. Definitely a hidden gem, as I've passed this unassuming place several times and not fully taken notice of it. Food was remarkably fresh, a very diverse offering of seafood and preparations and left us all wanting to try more. Service was extremely considerate and while a little on the pricier side of lunch, the quality of the meals, service and care justified the tab! Kudos to C&S

Swank [swangk] noun, adjective,-er, -est, verb -noun 1. Dashing smartness, as in appearance or style. Swank. It is the first thing I think of every time I enter Rich Clark and Jon Schwenk's C&S Seafood &Oyster Bar. The interior of this Atlanta restaurant glistens with a hip 1940's vibe. It's the type of place that makes me want to sit at the bar, order a bourbon and spill my guts to the bartender "Frank Sinatra Style". Sadly, I have nothing to spill and I don't resemble Frank in the least. One day though, I'll saunter in and say "set 'em up Joe". One day. I was invited this particular evening for a sampling of C&S's Spring menu additions. I had already heard raves about these dishes and was eager to try them myself. As I waited for my dining companions to arrive, attentive waiter Barrett Noel brought me a trio of amuse bouches to keep me company. I started with a ceviche. Light and refreshing the tang of citrus woke up my appetite. Next, a lightly broiled oyster in a flaky feuilletage and mild cream sauce was layered in delicate flavors. Lastly (for lack of a better name) a chicken lollipop with a sweet ginger glaze. First Course-Provencal Fish Soup with Aioli Shrimp This vegetable and tomato based soup made me long for the south of France (and another serving of soup). Second Course-Grilled Calamari, Spicy Tomato Sauce, Arugula, Olives, & Feta The calamari was tender with a slight lingering smokey flavor from being grilled. The spice of the tomato was accentuated by a sweet hint of Spanish paprika and the peppery flavor of the arugula. Third Course-Parmesan Crusted Flounder, Garlic Spinach I had been hearing raves about this dish and they were astounding. Could it really be that good? Oh. My. Word. Upon first bite I knew I was eating food fit for the Gods. I can not even bear to describe this dish. It was is TOO fabulous for words. Run, go, now, order, eat, and thank me (and Executive Chef Jon Schwenk) for rocking your mouth. Fourth Course-Roasted Duck Breast, Butternut Squash Risotto, Orange Gastrique By this time I was deliciously spent and in the throes of a multiple foodgasm. How did Chef Jon expect to top the culinary masterpiece we all just savored? Why with gorgeous medallions of succulent duck breast, juices seeping into the creamy risotto underneath, surrounded by the zesty sweetness of orange, that was how. Fifth Course-NY Strip, Salsa Verde, Pommes Frites Classic with a twist. The NY strip was juicy and pink served with shoestring pommes frites. The twist was the Salsa Verde, shallots, garlic, cilantro, and lemon juice added the right amount of "pop" to the dish. Sixth Course-Dessert Selection The icing on the proverbial cake consisted of Creme Brulee, Key Lime Pie, Profiteroles, Passion Fruit Mousse, Chocolate Fondant. Decadent, delicious, DIVINE! Schwenk swengk] noun -noun 1.Executive Chef Jon Schwenk, culinary mastermind. Schwenk. It is is whom I think of when I leave C&S Seafood &Oyster Bar. With such an impressive menu, impeccable service, and stylish surroundings, it's so easy to see why they have been voted "Best Seafood Restaurant" in Atlanta.

So much Yelping to do, so excuse me if these are brief. Went here for lunch with a client. Probably my third visit here as I love this spot. We do not have enough restaurants in Atlanta that have the look and feel of this place. Wine list is solid albeit a bit pricey, but selections are unique and top notch. You come here for the seafood and for sure it is good. They have seafood sandwiches and plates. Prices from $14 to $34. Apps are generous and tasty. I must say my fish was not quite as good as it usually is here and I think it was the cooking more than the quality of product. Desert's are excellent and this a wonderful special occassion spot where you are treated very well and you can enjoy your time eating and drinking.

Where do I start? The Ambiance is a 5 totally a romanic dinner date setting, dark and quiet with candles very small. Thats about it for 5 star. The server was OK- he actually seated us not something you expect from an heir of elegance this place tries to give off. The price goes along with that heir I guess because the menu was somewhat pricey, well I should say they didnt have many options it truly is SEAFOOD (sea bass, flounder, swordfisth) A few steaks but no pasta or big list of sides, but that didnt bother me much. Being that the title is an OYSTER BAR I expected more choices of oysters at a reasonable price. Maybe its me but oyster bar to me means a plethura of oysters for a low price (maybe I am wishing for New Orleans again-sigh) In any event they were almost 3 bucks a pop so I only ordered half a dozen raw and half dozen char broiled and they were fresh but extrememly TINY and homestly if I were in a complaining mood I wood have sent the cooked onces back because they were not really worth paying for but I did. I have had better stuffed shrimp (come to think of it didnt really taste stuffing) and the plate was small. My sister said the Salmon was blah not anything to write home to mom about. As a matter of fact the reminder I had to write this review was because I was finishing my kid's chicken strips- they were more memorable than anything we had all ngiht. Drinks were about 10 a drink but weak like others said. They sounded nice but a little pretentious with the names and ingredients, all thats not needed for all the drinks (but thats just me being picky). All in all if you are looking to take someone on a nice date and they will spend the night gazing into your eyes and disregard the price and have no desire for a real meal and want to impress her with your open wallet go right ahead. If you want a real hearty meal with hearty oysters for probably half the price go to Pappadeaux only 5-7 minutes away. I should have gone there!!!!! The $115 ticket still stings and I dont regret money I spend on a good meal EVER but for some reason I keep thinking of how I wasted good money on this lackluster joint next to KROGER .

We were excited to bring some friends to C & S after having a great meal there a few months ago. At that time we ordered a lot of appetizers and never made it to the entrees. cocktails - tasty but weak, if any alcohol, not detectable After watching our appetizers sit for over 10 minutes, my husband called to the waiter to see if they were ours, sure enough. Our water glasses were constantly empty, and that was a real problem because the blackened swordfish I ordered was too oily and way too salty. I should have sent it back, but we were fed up and ready to go due to the extremely slow service. Our table was completely cleared, but we had to wait over 30 minutes for our bill without even a sip of water. Horrible experience and embarrassing when we had told our friends how much we enjoyed it before.

Mixed review. The Calimari and Lobster was overcooked and rubbery. The Filet and Turbo were awesome and cooked perfectly. Menu was a bit pricey for the quality. The waiter was very knowledgable about the menu but was very rude. We won't be back.

If you recall, I basically kissed C&S's proverbial behind in my last review. Unfortunately, for both C&S and for me, this time I cannot do so much butt kissing. Let me begin with our waiter. My family and I were here for a celebration, and my mother told him as much. Rather than make any sort of pleasant chit-chat about our news, he cut my mom off and asked what we wanted to drink. Granted, this place was pretty packed, even for a Saturday night, but a good waiter doesn't make you feel rushed. His faux pas continued. He did not speak up so my grandmother could hear him, he took my plate away when there was still food on it, he was unreceptive to our distaste for an appetizer we ordered, and he took about 10 minutes to even get us water. Ok, enough griping about the waiter, although especially at a nice restaurant a waiter can make it or break it. This waiter received 18% tip from me, which is very low for such a place. Now the food. First we ordered a blush champagne for celebration, which was delicious (Louis something or other was the brand). I ordered truffle and Parmesan potato chips and salmon tartar for the appetizer. The salmon tartar was delicious--many different seasonings and very fresh salmon. My only complaint here was that I wish I had tasted the actual salmon more. The chips, however, were disgusting. They had no truffles. They tasted of truffle b/c of the truffle oil they doused on these poor potatoes, but not a shaved truffle to be seen. Even my dad wouldn't eat the chips, and that's saying a lot. For my meal, I ordered the steamed sea bass in a miso broth with porcini mushrooms, bok choy, and white rice. It was freaking delicious. If i hadn't been so full from the salmon tartar and the tasty sourdough bread, I would have eaten the entire thing (well, if my waiter hadn't grabbed my plate away from me!). The sea bass was moist and flavorful, and the mushrooms absorbed the miso flavor and weren't chewy at all. My dad got the tuna steak seared, and it was also quite heavenly with the pepper topping. My mom ordered the parmesan crusted trout--it was tasty but too buttery/heavy for my taste. She seemed to feel that way as well. Finally, my grandmother ordered a small order of shrimp. I didn't try her shrimp, but they looked just okay to me. We were too stuffed for dessert, but I did manage to finish my glass of 15 hands merlot for dessert. My fish was superb, so come for some seafood. Do not order the truffle potato chips, and hope for a waiter other than mine!

I was impressed with the decor in this place and the appearance of the wait staff. We were immediately seated and the server came over and listed out the specials. While I was impressed with the full range of the menu I didn't go for the $130 seafood plate. Sadly, they did not have a more affordable lunch menu. When I asked the waiter smiled and said warmly, I'm afraid not sir but if you would like to share a portion that can be arranged. That's the second time I was impressed with the place. I ordered the fish tacos and my friends ordered the chicken club. The overall flavoring was kind of bland but still tasty with a little bit of salt. My buddies really liked the french fries - thin and crispy. I can't comment on the other items on the menu as the average price of the items was around $25 - kind of out of our lunch price range. If there's a lunch menu available I'd visit this place more often but the quality of the service, ambiance, and food is top notch.

I give it 2 stars only because of the poor service. Our server was not very personable, and we felt rushed through our meal. I understand that a restaurant has to turn tables, but did she really have to pick up the credit card slips as soon as we signed them? I don't think the ink was even dry yet! It is unfortunate that I have to give this place a low mark as the food is very good (although very pricey). Not sure if this place is worthy of my hard earned money.

Very average food for a price that is a little too high. The service is mediocre and it's in a strip mall. I had grilled shrimp with potatoes and steamed broccoli. I also ordered the Lemonade (awful) - The broccoli was under cooked and not fresh. Had no taste. The shrimp were decent and the potatoes were good. My wife had the roasted Salmon which had no real taste. The kids had fried shrimp and fries which thy actually loved. Honestly their meals looked better than mine. It was average and slightly over priced. Not sure we will be coming back.

Went on a Tuesday restaurant was fairly busy but the waiter was good. We were a party of 3. Each ordered a different fish entree, app and desert. The Mahi was on the bland side, the waiter did ask if we would like to choose something different but did not want to send back. The scallops were really good, very tasty but the portion was small especially for the price. The wedge salad was below average, much to much dressing. Cream brûlée for desert was outstanding. Overall this place was built up so much the food taste and portion size fell short of expectations.

So it's not cheap, but it's really, really good. Went with my family and everything we had was great. 4 different entrees and every one was excellent. I can't wait for the next time that I can go back.

First impression: I walked into C&S for the first time on a Thursday evening (12 Mar 2009) and immediately loved the place. Perhaps because it's located in a strip mall next to a grocery store my expectation was perhaps not so high, that the atmosphere really surprised me. Service: Fantastic, spot on service. Don't remember our waiter's name, but I'm willing to bet he is the only Asian 6' 3" waiter working there. Food: If nothing else, I hope someone at this restaurant gets this message: "Chef, put down the salt shaker, seriously". For my appetizer I ordered the Manhattan Chowder. Everything about it should have made it some of the best I've had; appearance, texture, aroma, etc. One thing though, it was nearly inedible because it was way too salty. For my entree I ordered the Red Snapper vinaigrette. The first one they brought to my table was so over cooked I sent it back. Chef, here is another message: "If the Red Snapper needs a steak knife to cut it, then it's over cooked. Furthermore, you should NEVER, EVER, send out a bad plate in hopes the customer won't notice, we do". When they brought my second plate the fish was better, not great. And to add to the experience, the sautéed spinach also was way too salty. So again, Chef, for the love of God and those of us who love well prepared food, put down the salt shaker before you hurt someone like you did to my first experience with this restaurant. In conclusion, given the atmosphere and service this seems like a good choice for oysters and martini's (assuming they don't let the chef near either).

My wife and I have eaten here many times and the food and service has always been excellent. Their oyster selection is excellent and they offer a wide variety of interesting adult beverages. This is our go-to place when we are looking for a fine (though pricy) meal.

First time at C&S and the service is terrible. For a white table cloth restaurant, the service is atrocious. 1) Sloppy appearance. Attempts to put his tie on at the table as he greets our table (10 minutes after we sat down). 2) Tries to up-sell appetizers--- really hard... pretends to "mishear" our orders. 3) As he is filling water glasses, water was sloshing out of the pitcher and onto the table/ the floor. 4) Dumps my friend's bread on to the bread plate in attempt to remove the appetizer plate. 5) Does not remove empty beer glasses or offers my friend another cocktail drink (and she wanted one). 6) Speaks over the table while getting orders instead of coming around next to the guest to take the order (we are sitting in a free standing table). 7) Food was delivered incorrectly (guessing wrong seat numbers). My friend was cutting into the entree and was about to put a bite into his mouth. The server yells at him to stop. My friend drops his fork. The server proceeded to swap the entrees to the right seat number. 8) Brusquely ask if we wanted dessert (no menus offered). The food: appetizer and entrees were terrific. The fish was fresh. No complaints there. I just don't understand why it's so hard to get good, perfunctory service, especially at a nice, "upscale" restaurant. If you are going to spend $25-$45 dollars on an entree, management needs to assure guests receive the best care possible. This case is a problem two folds: foul server and absent management.

The Good: Bowties and service with a smile. Cute. The Bad: WAAAAAAAAY overpriced, average eats. This was our first visit to C&S. Yeah the staff is super-friendly and place is easy on the eyes... portions for the price are scant and the food is just okay. Picture an Atlanta Fish Market imposter squeezed into a space the size of a nail salon... **Attention Yankee Transplants! Don't let staff talk you into certain menu items based on the fact that the owner is from Long Island... you have been warned! The lobster roll consists of lobster, celery and mayo served on a buttered and toasted baguette. Let's break it down further: Lobster: Bits - not even chunks. To use the term "lump" is just wrong. Celery: If you love celery - congrats, you just hit the jackpot, and then some. Mayo: I hope you love it more than celery because it's all you'll taste. Buttered baguette: Good, but an odd conveyance for this seriously lackluster concoction (not to mention expensive! $18) Whole Belly Clams: Salty batter and small, but that's just because of the season. Got a couple of cute, reusable containers out of the deal, but not much else.

Three visits and Three words - yum, yum, YUM! LOVE the decor - the feeling of a old time seafood / steak house Service - Excellent, humorous and have a real sense of genuine hospitality (waitstaff, chef and owners!) Oysters - Delicious. But - PLEASE - splurge and order that 1/2 bottle of Vevue Champagne to enjoy with the oysters. Two aphrodisiacs in one bite - is that legal? Appetizers - Calamari (some of the best I've ever had) and Parmesan Truffled Potato Chips (if you don't order this you are seriously missing out!) Main Entree - Seriously, I never have enough room to make it to entree. Which actually works to my advantage - I pick off every ones plate at the table - getting to try 4 or 5 different entrees. I am impressed with all of them. Dessert - we were celebrating a birthday. So the waiter brings out this HUGE plate of assorted dessert - a pineapple cake, pastries stuffed with ice cream, creme brulee, and some sort of apple tart. So I get home and as soon as I start feeling hungry again (HOURS later), I'm craving C&S Seafood and plotting my next dinner reservation. It's just that good! Pricey, but worth it! Negative? The toddler that was running around our table - who was insistent on taking my attention away from one of the best meals I have had in a while. Wait! That was MY kid ;-)

We were so excited for C&S to arrive in Vinings. Over the years the excitment has dimmed... the food is just ok, not bad by any means, just not a 5 star experience. I tend to think when I have an average experience after I get the bill and it's expensive my then average experience is lowered... that's kinda what happens here. So all in all, a solid C. I'm sure we'll return in hopes it will be better, as we have in the past, but for now... mehh.

There were several of us dining at C&S. It was a business dinner to celebrate a project that had just been completed, so I could almost hear the cha-ching as our gluttony continued throughout the evening. Definitely a great place to go on an expense account. Below is a summary of my experience, read the whole thing here: atlanta-restaurantblog.c… We all wanted oysters and went the a la carte route, sampling some from New England, and Kumomoto from Washington. These were pretty interesting having a sweet beginning and a salty end. I really like the a la carte option, instead of having to order 6 of one kind and 6 of another just to get a taste. So here's how our entrees paned out: * Lobster Tails - My dining companion liked them but would have preferred if she didn't have to struggle so much to get the meat out of the shell. * Flounder stuffed with crab - That was my entree. I really dug the caviar butter sauce. * Tuna steak - I didn't have a taste but heard it was delicious. I will say that although we consumed a lot of food I felt full, but not stuffed. It was nice to eat so much great food but not feel like I was going to pop. Service was exceptional. Our server, Barrett was extremely knowledgeable about not only food but had excellent wine recommendations. My only complaint? Having valet parking in a strip mall that is anchored by a Kroger is a complete joke. I think its ridiculous for the valet to take up so many primo parking spots.

Okay, so my wife and I go out on a date every Tuesday and last night was no exception. We choose C & S Seafood for dinner and it was fantastic! The ambiance, service and food met my expectations. The oyster rockeifellers were awesome. The shrimp and goat cheese beignets, incredible. If you enjoy seafood, then this is the place for you.

I was so excited to try this place since I had read really great reviews but I was sadly disappointed. The service was sooo slow on a Wednesday night....it took at least 10 minutes for a waiter to take our drink order and another 10 mins to get a glass of wine. (and its not that big of a place) I would have not have been so upset if I had to wait for a meal that was outstanding but it was just average. With that being said, it has a nice romantic atmosphere.....candlelight and all.

Second visit here and the service is what stood out both times. This is an obvious focus of management. Almost everything we had was delicious. great selection of fresh oysters. A little pricey, but I'm confident I'll have a good meal when I go here.

The Good - Excellent service - Ginger Limeade - The ginger is surpisingly not overpowering and rather refreshing. - The Oysters - Excellent and fresh. Try the cold water oysters from Canada and New York - The swanky 20s-ish decor. The Bad - Lobster Bisque - Versus being nice and creamy it was so salty it was barely edible. - Ahi Tuna - I'm a slut for Asian food and would have prefered it with a side of wasabi and crusted with sesame seeds. And it was a tad bit too salty. The Retarded - Valet parking at a strip mall containing a Kroger's.

First I would recommend my server Kevin: funny and great service. Creativity - 4 What you would find in any decent seafood steak house. Presentation - 4 Very appealing Service - 5 one of the most fun experiences in a while. Server was hilarious and entertaining. Atmosphere 4 - Very pleasant and open. But can be very loud Flavor - 4 I had steak, my fiancee had halibut, my mom had crab cakes, and my sister had the filet. It was all great very pleasant appealing to all. Execution - 5 Exactly how I wanted my steak, and my sister got hers well done burnt to a crisp like she likes her cardboard and my fiancee's halibut was just beautiful, tender and succulent in the middle with crisp flakes on the outside.

The host noticed the decorative pink bows on my shoes when I entered the restaurant. Thus began the staff at C&S Seafood & Oyster Bar's attention to detail and excellent service. More formally known as Clark & Schwenk's, this charming restaurant is found in the Riverview Village shopping center. What? A "nice" restaurant in a shopping center? I know, it's odd, but they make the most of it. Carafes of wine for $17 and fresh seafood make me as happy as a clam (pardon the pun). I ordered (and ate every bite of) the broiled Chilean sea bass, which was served over broccolini and spinach (my special request -- in place of roasted fingerling potatoes). On top, a coarsely chopped tomato, basil and garlic vinaigrette, though it's more of a lovely salsa consistency. The service was outstanding and the food was divine. Absolutely delicious. I don't eat oysters -- don't even insist I should (I've tried them) -- but I will frequent C&S as often as possible. Starting now.

Dissatisfied - we spent $242 for what was supposed to be a great huge splurge of a meal - a real special occasion since we hardly ever get out anymore. Shrimp cocktail and crab cake were very good ($16 each). Everything else that night was subpar if not outright poor quality. Outback would have been a much better choice for my filet and lobster tail. Oysters sucked (isn't this an oyster bar???). Sauces and even sides were horrible to the point where we didn't even eat them. Left absolutely upset that we had spent that much on a dinner that awful...

I've eaten here a few times for business lunches. The setup is generally nice and private and the service is excellent, but there's limited options for lunch if you're not in love with seafood. When they say seafood and oyster bar, that's what this place is. The quality is good and on par with what you should pay at a place like this.

Went this evening for my Birthday dinner. Once my husband and I arrived early we went to the bar and waited maybe 2 minutes before being seated. The waitress and hostess kept calling us by name and were very attentive. I had told them it was my birthday dinner when I made the reservation and they made everything perfect. I was so impressed. The atmosphere was great. We chose to sit in a booth and really enjoyed ourselves. I tried two of the Long Drinks, Ginger Limeaid - very refreshing in my opinion, but I am a Vodka girl, hubby did not like it. And the Strawberry Mojito - too sweet for my taste. Hubby had a margarita on the rocks, all very good. We started off with the Crispy Truffled Potato Chips, sooo good. Then we had the bread and butter, very tasty. And for our Entree I had the Virginia Flounder, broiled with lemon herb beurre blanc and hubby had Gulf Red Grouper - chargrilled with lemon herb beurre blanc. new potatoes and zuchini and carrots- OMG, this was all so good. Sorry to be so blunt, but really it was a fabulous meal. They brought us dessert with a candle lit on the house for my birthday. It was a nice little treat to end the fabulous meal. We will definitely be back! There is valet parking, but I don't like leaving my car with a valet, so I parked a few rows over and we walked in.

I just moved to Atlanta In July and this is my favorite restaurant by far! Don't be scared away by the fact that the restaurant is located in a strip mall...the atmosphere inside is divine! The dining room is elegant yet cozy and the staff is friendly and attentive. I've eaten here a number of times and I have NEVER been disappointed. The food is always fresh, delicious, and well prepared. I had Christmas dinner at C&S and I enjoyed every bite. I ordered the iceberg wedge, oysters (the pink peppercorn mignonette is the best), center cut filet with Bearnaise sauce, and sauteed mushrooms. The meat was cooked perfectly and as always, the oysters were icy cold and as fresh as you can get. This was the first time I've ordered meat since I usually have the sea bass or the parm crusted flounder when I'm here, but the filet was just as delicious as their seafood. Also, they have a great wine list and some pretty amazing cocktails. This was a wonderful Christmas dinner and I will be back next year for sure! If you're someone who appreciates fresh delicious cuisine than you will not mind the price at all. The food and the dining experience is worth every penny! The only suggestion I have is...bring back the salmon tartar!! (The French style salmon tartar is so amazing it makes my mouth water just thinking about it and no one makes it like C&S)!

I visited C&S Seafood this weekend and don't know that I would return. I ordered the flounder and my friend the fried seafood platter and neither of us was impressed. In addition to that, I checked my a.e.card later and noticed that I'd been over charged by $74.00!!!!! Management had no problem with correcting this error but they failed to offer me a coupon to make up for this inconvience. Papadauxs also overchaged me on SEVERAL ocassions but ALWAYS followed up with a gift card AND corrected the error. People check over your charges CAREFULLY.

The Oysters are the only thing good about this restaurant. I was so disappointed and unimpressed with the other food. The very over priced, dry, over cooked food. Our table ordered the roasted chicken, the flounder, the shrimp, and salmon. You can pay less and have better food at other places. NOT IMPRESSED!

Let me first start with, the oysters were amazing and the variety was impressive. However, that's the only positive thing I can say, oh, and the fish was fresh, so I'll give them that too. The flavor of the sauce on the fish was severely lacking. I ordered the tomato herb vinaigrette on black grouper which was what was recommended for my taste and I was extremely diasppointed. There was absolutely no flavor to it at all. It was almost like they cut up some tomatoes and stuck them in the microwave with a little basil to warm it up. Gross, I know!! I also ordered a house salad and the only thing on my plate was a cup size of spring mix leaves. Yep, that's it, nothing else, and all for around $8! The broccoli that accompanied my entree was lukewarm and flavorless like its sauce counterpart. My husband ordered the scallops, and while they were much more flavorful than my dish, there were only four VERY SMALL pieces on a skewer. Needless to say, we will not be going back to this place.

When this place first opened, I was initially very favorably impressed and disposed to be a regular. However, I am sorry to say, I think they are riding their reputation. Although they seem to have a loyal following of regulars, I have found the quality of the food spotty, the service also varying from good to very good and the attitude of management not as positive as it should be. Also, it is very expensive. There are better choices--and ones where you patronage is more appreciated.

Last time we went here, something was different. Not sure if there is new management but the food and service seem to have gone down. The seafood is not as fresh and is salty. Too bad. We really loved this place. I hope they can regain their steam.

My wife and I have eaten here many times and it is always excellent. We have ordered most of the menu and can say that neither of us has been disappointed with anything we have had. The wait staff is very attentive and the vegetables are fresh. The seafood is cooked just the way I like it every time and the salads and appetisers are very well prepared. I would give this place five stars if they could do more with there dessert selection. If you want a solid seafood dinning experience with a romantic setting or a special occasion place to take someone this is my second favorite seafood restaurant after Kyma. I would put the quality of the food at pare with Chops but without the stuffiness.

I would recommend this place for someone who would like to have a nice seafood dinner. I had the Chilean seabass and it was delicious. My wife had the swordfish and she really liked that as well. The fried calimari is really good I would definitely recommend it!! The one thing I did not like was the seating, the tables for two are too close to the next table. You can not have a nice dinner with your date becuase you basically have people sitting in your conversation. We were seated at one of these tables so we decided that we would leave and go somewhere else. As we were wakling out someone heard us tell the hostess that we were leaving (I am not sure if it was the manager) and they asked us why. We said that we wanted to have a little more privacy while we ate our dinner. They offered to get us a booth if we could wait 5-10 minutes. We had our booth in about 2 minutes. It was a nice touch accommodating us with a booth it was 8:30pm on a Saturday night. A side note for the big eaters, entree portions are on the smaller side so you may want to get an appetizer.

I have to give this restaurant major credit for it's customer service. We had reservations for Saturday night - but when we got there the place was packed (with a mostly older crowd, but that's ok). Even the bar was 1 deep at most parts. We were content to wait, as not being in a hurry. We eventually bellied up to the bar and enjoyed a nice strong drink. We inquired only once after a time about our table (we were nearing 20 minutes after our reservation time) and were informed we just had to wait for some people to pay out. No big deal, as I said. However, the bartender informed us that the next round was on the house for our wait. I mean, we weren't even the slightest bit out of sorts about the wait and here are free drinks! I already love this place. We finally get seated (and, I understand the place was slammed and being seated late was of no fault of C&S - it just happens). Once we tucked into the plushy booth (which was part of the reason it took so long to seat us, I had reserved a booth, so I guess it's partly my bad) the hostess dropped by with a big plate of calamari and truffle laced potato crisp things, on the house, for our inconvenience. We have NEVER seen customer service like that and we duly impressed with the effort to make sure our dinner was a pleasant one. So, in addition to leaving a nice tip, I vowed to write a review praising their customer service. I'm not going to review the place itself, being as the ethics of reviewing suggest getting comped goodies leads to a lack of impartiality (you know, cause I'm a professional and all :-p) but I will say they treat their customers well. It's something rare nowadays and certainly made an impression.

Overpriced seafood and very loud dining room which made it a very poor dining experience. How does a 1/2 lb of crab legs = just one crab leg. Quite the ripoff there...

I consider myself a bit of a foody and I travel a lot so I've eaten at many great restaurants from New York to Shanghai, and C&S Seafood is definitely one of my all time favorites. I eat here every single time I'm in Atlanta and I have never been disappointed. I've had one fantastic meal after another. The parmesan crusted flounder is decadently delicious and the salmon tartar with the egg caper dressing is to die for! I also love the Chilean Sea Bass and the lemon-garlic spinach. If you're a fan of raw bar, this is the place to order it. The oysters are so fresh and cold and the pink peppercorn mignonette is one of a kind. They also have a full bar with an array of interesting cocktails and a very decent wine selection. The Pimms Cup and the Summertime Setback are two of my favorite spring/summer cocktails because they are so light and refreshing. Although the food is upscale the feel of the restaurant is very comfortable and friendly. The owner makes his rounds in the dining room and the service is always excellent. To me, the food is worth every penny and more. If you're in the Atlanta area and you love really fresh, high quality food, C&S is an absolute must! I'll be in Atlanta in June and I'm already looking forward to my trip to C&S.

With our recent move to Atlanta from South Carolina, I was thrilled to have an "Oyster Bar" in my area, as I have been eating seafood of every type imaginable since I was a child. My husband and I entered and were pleasantly surprised by the decor. It's "swank", I would say, and had a bar and booths which felt relaxed. Based on recommendations from reviews, as well as our own tastes, we had several things. The truffle fries as an appetizer were thin, crisp, covered with parmesan and reminiscent of truffle. These were by far the best dish of the evening. I had 2 dozen raw oysters of various types and they were so-so in quality. . .which disappointed me only because they were at least $2 each! We had the mussels in white wine sauce, which were HORRID. In fact, they smelled terrible and tasted foul, as in spoiled. We immediately sent them back, however could not get the spoiled taste out of our mouth for days. I had the tilapia cooked meniere style, which was terribly overcooked, dry, and somewhat fish-y in taste. All in all, my husband wanted to give this place only one star because along with this terribly unsatisfying meal was an exorbitant price tag. I'm not kidding you, this place is way overpriced, especially for this quality of preparation. I'm giving it two stars because the ambiance is nice as were the truffle chips. Steer clear from the seafood here, however. . .I can cook it better at home. . .and so can you.

3 words - NEVER GO HERE! - HORRIBLE SERVICE! I was a guest of someone last night for dinner and I was appalled by the lack of training that our server had - either he was a complete idiot on the art of dining, or he just did not care that we were paying customers trying to enjoy a nice evening. As soon as we were seated, our server seemed annoyed that we were at his table for some reason? He spilled water and wine each time he refreshed our glasses so by the end of the meal our table was soaked. We ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and after he poured our first glass (and about a of a glass ended up being on the table) he asked if we would like it on ice. We said "yes please" - his response... a disgruntled sigh like he could not believe we would like our wine to remained chilled. It was almost comical. Throughout the evening, he never once asked how we were, never once smiled and never once said "thank you" or "you're welcome". The best we got was a grunt. He also basically threw the silverware down between courses as well as our plates. The highlight of the meal has to be the water service. There must be a competition with the servers on who can pour the most water throughout the evening. Serously - aren't we supposed to be conserving water? Many times throughout the night I asked that he stop refreshing my glass with water. This was for 3 reasons - 1. He kept spilling water on me and the table, 2. My glass was completely full of ice from the previous pours and 3. I was not thirsty ANYMORE! He simply ignored my request. I finally said "I do not want any water" and he said he "had to pour it because management had video cameras taping water service" - What??? When he came for the final time I said "please, no more water" and had to put my hand over my glass - he poured it on my hand and said "I have to pour you water". I replied "no you do not; I do not want any more water, thank you". His reply - "I have 50,000 people watching me so I have to give you water". I said "no you do not". He said "give me your glass I am going to take it away". I said "no, I would like to keep my glass with the little bit of water I have". He proceeded to argue with me causing a scene at our table and I finally said "I am the guest, I wish for no more water and would like to keep my glass, please leave". Needless to say we paid our bill right away. The food was great- I had the Porcini Salmon. However, I will NEVER step one foot into this restaurant ever again. There is ABSOULTLY NO excuse for the lack of respect we received by IVAN B. - our waiter. Waffle House has 10,000 times better service than C&S - but if you have to go and you get a server named IVAN - ask for a new server immediately! P.S. I have to give this place a star to be able to post it but in my book C&S does not deserve any stars.
