The ambiance, food, drinks and service is impeccable. The crabcakes, chicken wontons, philly eggrolls, wings, spinach artichoke dip are all fantastic. The bartenders make very good drinks and everyone is very attentive from the owners to the staff. Atlanta has a gem on their hands!

DJ was good but the owners don't want to fix the air conditioner. Apparently been broken for months. The have fans and that's supposed to be enough. Not cool. If your hair is straight or done up. DO NOT come. Your money will go to waste. Men costs $20 at door FYI. Small space by the way

Service is bad and waitress are rude. Parking is too much 10 dollars. Food is grease and far so.of your on a diet don't go. Cooking staff is slow and orders don't seem to get out fast enough. Prices are on one hand and pricey on the other. Swings in place bring a uniques attribute to this lounge but makes it difficult to order drinks. Restaurant seems to be understaffed and in need of a kitchen manger

Food is pretty okay. Parking is a b####. Waitstaff is rude. Tables are overpriced. The owner needs to do something about some of these repetitive issues people complain about. Otherwise, it's a cool place and the music is good.

This was an ok place, the concept of the swings at the bar was neat, I guess, I really wouldn't know because the girls sat there all night along they should have a time limit. The place was overly crowded which was a good thing but no one was dancing. It just seem so out of place. I asked the same bartender 5 times for a drink and NEVER received it. I asked another bartender for a drink and I never received it so i just left, this place is a fail!! I've been to better.

The reviews about this place is spot on.The food looks good and is pretty tasty BUT the service is definitely lacking! We got seated and it took about 15-20 minutes for the waitress to come over and even offer us some water. Definitely get the buffet on Sunday's; I just ordered an omelette and it took about an hour to receive it. When I finally did receive it, they gave me the wrong order. I asked for everything on it but tomatoes because I am allergic. I would have given this place 2 stars but maybe they were just having an off day. I'm not sure if I'll be back.

The ambiance was look but the drinks are a pricey which I wouldn't mind but its in a plastic cup and barley a shot. The swings are look but they are not for you fellas hint hint as I watched a dude straight busy his ass trying to swing and look cool. Also bottle service is 350.00 non negotiable and I only had three people . They smoke hookas but u can't smoke anything else. John was kool but I think I'll give it one more shot. And I went on a fri and music was good.

If you're gonna go here, don't pay a ridiculous $10 for parking. All they do is park it in the parking lots or surrounding neighborhoods across the street. Park it yourself and walk across the street. The valets do a terrible job and I've seen several near-accidents on Ponce.

Love this place. I went on Friday for happy hour. Got there around 6 or so. Free to get in. Good food. Good drinks. Decent prices. They gave out free jello shots and liquor infused strawberries to the ladies. Great atmosphere. Good people. Good music. They played oldies but goodies as well as new music. Loved the swings. We dropped a drink on the floor and someone came to clean it up immediately. Awesome service.

Came on a rainy Wednesday night. Place had a good amount of people considering the rainy weather. Food: I had the chicken and waffles. Waffle was good, but I received 6 small, extra crispy chicken wings. The presentation looked bad, mediocre and I hardly enjoyed the meal. The ceiling was leaking over the table we were sitting at. This was annoying. Told the manager and he didn't really have much to say. He said it was condensation from it being so hot earlier and cooling down after. Service: took about 15 minutes before a waiter came to our table. Received our food about 25 min after ordering. Atmosphere: this is the only reason I am giving this place a 3 stars. The DJ was great, played old school and current hip Hop/ r&b. So if you aren't really trying to have meal, I would suggest this place. The crowd looked about on their early 30s-40s. They have these swings you can sit on next to the bar. This was the coolest feature of the restaurant. Parking: the had valet parking for $10. I being the cheapskate I am, I parked on the street. Be prepared to look a while for parking however because I parked a lil bit from the lounge.

Great experience for brunch. The wait time to be seated was a little long, but I realized it was because the hostess had the job of seating parties, as well as bussing tables. There is a variety of food that is not typically seen. The philly cheese steak pasta was a hit for me. The buffet included: salad, fried tilapia, ribs, fried chicken, French toast, pancakes, waffles, omelettes, home fries, eggplant Parmesan and jerk chicken rice. Let's not forget the bottomless mimosas :) that were served in strawberry, pineapple, and of course orange. I would most definitely come back for brunch on a Sunday. I've also been here on a Tuesday night and the atmosphere was surprisingly great. Played up-to-date hip hip music and wasn't too crowded.

Great first experience for a first timer! I called to make a reservation for my cousins' birthdays and the guy on the phone advised he would text me the person to contact for reservations. I thought that was weird so I went online to beat the system and used modern technology to make the reservation. To my knowledge I was not aware that the person would need to contact me to confirm and by text this was completed the next morning. Outside of that I enjoyed great drinks, music and convo with the fam. I will definitely return!

If you're looking for a night of ratchetness, go here. We went for "dinner", but the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other or the waitress. I don't know how the food tastes because we didn't try it. We left after about 20 mins. Also, in my confirmation text, the dress code stated no athletic wear, but there were guys wearing gym shorts.. Really? My friend did try the Peachtree Martini and liked it. They do have hookah, so it was very smoky. If that's your scene, that's fine but it wasn't the scene for us on the night we went.

This place has SO much potential. Great atmosphere. Swings at the bar. Options of alcohol and hookah selection. Theres also a plethora of people clearly out to simply have a GOOD time. But the service is COMPLETELY LACKING. Now I have the good sense the Lord gave me and can tell the house was Packed and demand was at an all time HIGH especially since the FINALS were showing, hell I was there to watch the game too! But obviously, and quite frankly, if I know the club will be ACTIVE when a game is on, surely management does too, no? Anyway, the mere fact that we asked FIVE different people for new coals for thr HOOKAH and STILL had to wait over FORTY MINUTES to be serviced is quite frankly LAUGHABLE. Each time staff CLAIMED it would be handled and was on the way. Meanwhile I listened as More and more ppl complained of the same. Don't ask customers to pay full price for a product you cannot properly provide. Seriously. If you only have staffing to provide partial services, start charging partial PRICES. UNACCEPTABLE. Im making an edit to my review because we were given a free refill at the end of the night and received an applogy which shows they do care to make amends when customers express dissatisfaction. Hopefully management does a better job at being proactive so that situations like this don't recur.

This a great up beat , youthful spot. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not five is due to the size. The food is great , the service is out standing and the drinks are on point. They service a Sunday brunch from 11:30am to 3:00pm that is very popular ! Seating is limited so get there early. It's best to arrive before noon are expect to wait at least an hour. If you have a large party its best to be there when they open to get a table . I've never been during the week but I've head its jumping.

Have you been looking to release your inner ratchet? Need a place to expose your inner gangster? Well this is the place for you! I visited Boogalou this past Saturday night with a group of girlfriends. I follow the place on social media and thought for sure this was a more upscale hip hop establishment. Apparently I had not looked at the yelp reviews (Shame on me!) We parked in valet ($15 which was quick and easy). There was no cover for us to enter the establishment which is why they got 2 stars instead of 1. Upon entering, we immediately noticed there was no place to sit down. The architecture was very nice. There were swings placed around the bar which is very cool however it is not practical. It was nearly impossible to squeeze between the swings to order drinks! I had to get so close to the "swing thots" that it made it very uncomfortable. (If you are not sure what a THOT is please research it in the urban dictionary) When we finally did order drinks, our bartender was quick and made the drinks strong. The music (hip hop) was very good (hence the place to release your inner ratchet). However, there was no room to dance. The place was way too packed to walk around let alone bust a move on the dance floor. Overall, I probably will not come back at night. I have read they have a good brunch and I would be willing to come back to try the brunch.

Myself and a friend came to the Sunday brunch offered at Boogaloo and had heard many great things about the place. It was very easy to locate and we were able to find parking very easily on the side of the building. They offer valet but I'm not for sure what the rates are. The decor: Upon entering, you are greeted by the hostess and get to see the how open and how chic the decor is. I was made sure not to sit in the swings tho, Im sure they're sturdy but I didn't wanna take a chance. Lol. The buffet: The $25 buffet offered an array of items that all were pretty tasty. Most of their selection is on the buffet line, but you can get dishes such as French toast (yummy!!) or omelets as well. We also got the bottomless mimosas which were $15 and they were decent. Overall: It was a good atmosphere and the set up of the buffet was good. My main issue is with the wait for the made to order items and mimosas. Our wait was was awesome so I didn't ding her for what was going on in the kitchen, but it seems that perhaps they could hire more help to alleviate that. If I'm in the area, I'd check it out again.

Boogalou is a great little spot that's new to the city and it very cute inside. The swings definitely add a nice touch to the establishment. I was here opening night and I've also been here for the shot/drink specials on Tuesday with the $8 crab leg clusters with potatoes and corn. I didn't eat crabs this Tuesday but I will be back for them. I got the $0.50 boneless wings and they're DELISH! Be aware of the tequila shots. They sneak up on you!

Okay so this review was kind of late but I'm going to do it anyway. I went here over the weekend and it was either a Friday or Saturday, I can't remember. All I know is that I had a good time and the DJ play good music. parking is very tight but inexpensive as well. It was only five dollars. It didn't take that long to get into the bar. I would say took maybe five minutes at most. The cover for the door was $20 which is typical in Atlanta. Some people were dressed to impress and others were not. LOL One of the only drawback is that I noticed was that the bathrooms had amusement park lines! If you're the type they can't hold your liquor, it's all bad! Drink with moderation! Because when the time comes, you won't be able to get into the bathroom fast enough! All in all it was a really chill experience. There were no fights or ignorant behavior happening in the room. Everyone seem to just want to have a good time and that's all that matters. ;)

Very Kewl chic place! Sexy crowd and great staff. Food pretty good, Crab cakes big chunk crab meat, yumm! Wings pretty good too. Hookah is $25.00, (only kinda downfall $15.00 refill after only an hr).

Was visiting from Dallas last weekend and I have to say it was not what I expected . I don't know if it wasn't the right time or what but it was a disappointment . Everybody was in cliques and there was no place to sit . We were told that we had to make reservations . So be sure to call before you go , if you decide to go lol

Well, I realize that I'm in the minority here, but I went to Boogalou last night for a friend's birthday party, had a GREAT time and LOVED the music! It was ladies night, so there was no cover for ladies. It was $20 for guys (ouch). First, parking IS indeed a NIGHTMARE, 'tis true. Actually, it's worse than you can imagine. They do offer valet parking for $10 (I'm just not sure about where they park you, and I don't like having to wait for my car when I'm ready to go) and parking across the street is $5. There's also some suspect parking across the street in the Mary Mac employee GRAVEL lot for $5. There was a guy who looked like he didn't have a home standing out collecting the money, and if you're wearing stiff heels I'm told they'll sink into the ground- we didn't park there. We drove around for about 25 minutes until we found a good enough spot to make an illegal spot. Fire Marshall Bill himself was there. Therefore, there was a line to get in- we had to be counted in. Here's where they lost a star with me. As we're waiting, a guy comes out, and says, "it's free for ladies, but if you don't wanna wait in the line, you can get in now for $20". Really, dude? Nah. Exactly 3 minutes (90 seconds) later, we were in- a few women gave up their $20 drink money. Suckers. Inside, it's really nice. The blinking flashlight cops were in there, as promised, shuffling people along, the swing thots were there as promised, glued to the swings, and there were actually two MALE swing thots who were just standing in front of a swing seat next to their girls, never sitting, but not letting anyone else sit either. What lames. Lame dudes with lame moves. Uggh. I asked two of the swing guards, very nicely, if I could squeeze between them to get to the bar, and they obliged. Bar tendress came right over each time, made my drinks, was very friendly, VERY pretty, and all was good. Stiff drinks, too. I didn't find the music ratchet at all. It was straight ATL music, much of it by ATL artists. I mean, it is the ATL, what would one expect? Michael Buble? No one ever came and asked us about ordering any food. We sure would have. I didn't get the impression that was an option. Our table was good and all, all our people were seated together, and everyone was happy and partying. I did see the famous firecracker bottle service. It was pretty funny! I had a great time, and would definitely go back for the music alone!

Came here for brunch after Church today for a friend's birthday. Initially told we had an 1.5hr wait but it was actually 45min at the most. You only get the $25 brunch buffet ( comes with one serving of either 1 pancake/waffle, 2 slices of french toast (which has one regular slice of bread and a very small end loaf second slice), or fish and grits) which was just okay. The best items on the buffet menu was the mac n cheese, chicken wings, pasta, candied yams, and broccoli. My friends had the bottomless mimosas for $15 each. They had to go through 2 pitchers to even feel a slight buzz bc they said it tastes just like plain orange juice. The frencg toast was good- not the best I had. Other than the food, the service was great. Our waitress Jackie was very attentive. The guys putting out food for the buffet were very nice and answered any questions we had about the food and very friendly. Overall the food wasnt impressive for the $25 buffet price tag and I hear the mimosas weren't worth their price tag either. I say you would fare better at one of the other great brunch places Atlanta has such as Flying Biscuit - and save quite a bit of money. I personally would rate the food alone a 1.5. But the staff was awesome and the cleanliness, decor, & atmosphere of the place made me raise it to 3. However, my bff said she liked the Happy Hour on a previous visit

My review is based on my various experiences having brunch here. During the brunch time frame, you have to valet which is $5 or find street parking. If you choose to sit at a table, there is a 2 hour max. There is usually ample seating at the bar swings which don't have a time limit. Bottomless mimosas are around $20 and from my experience, servers are pretty good about keeping your glass full. They have various flavors and allow you to mix & match. The buffet is around $30 and well worth it! It comes with your choice of an omelette, french toast, or waffle in addition to the buffet selections which include grits, bacon, pasta, desserts, mac and cheese, etc. The food is outstanding and always fresh! During my last visit, I got a chance to talk with the owner and he even gave my party a free pitcher of a special mimosa with grand marnier (yum)! They pay r&b during brunch which adds to the nice relaxing vibe. Now I did try Boogalou's out for a day party and can see where the negative reviews come in. The place was way too packed when I arrived around 8 pm, and during that time frame its almost impossible to get service with people crowding the bar area. It took over 10 minutes for me to get the bartender to take my order and she was extremely rude. Overall the place was just way too crowded for my liking which I think contributes to the decline in customer service. The only positive, as others mentioned, was the great music. It does change to hip-hop during the day party. I believe valet is $10 and there was a pretty long wait for my car. Also there was a line to get in. I believe there is a cover charge for men but ladies are free. I was told its best to get there at 6 when the party starts in order to avoid chaos. I will continue to frequent for brunch because I like the vibe...not so sure about the day party. PS: The decor is absolutely beautiful!

The bottomless brunch on Sunday's are absolutely amazing!! I can't even think what my favorite dish is because everything is delicious! The bottomless mimosas are great too; all the flavors are good but strawberry is my favorite

This restaurant and lounge is a nice addition to Ponce. The interior is contemporary with lounge seating and swings as seating at the bar. Their drinks are excellent and the food is really good. There's not a drink menu yet but there is a beer and wine menu. Although this place just opened, the staff seems to be very knowledgeable and extremely attentive. I highly recomemd the chicken and waffle sliders, the boogalou wings, and the crab cakes. They also have happy hour specials. One thing to keep in mind is that there is valet parking which is typically free for women and $5 for men.

Two stars because the crowd of sugar daddies and sugar baby hopefuls was quite amusing on the particular Friday night I went. Otherwise one star due to lack luster food, bad flow of space and little seating, overpriced drinks, and having to yell over a dj and considering there was no dance floor the music was over kill. Noise level in this place is off the charts so bring flags and laser pointers to get the bartenders attention. It just doesn't know what it wants to be yet, a play ground? A upscale lounge? A night club? I couldn't decide but all three together just didn't work for me.

oh Boogalou!!! I wanted you to be so much better....sigh. Bad service. I called in advance to have a section for my friend's birthday. John, the manager, was very professional and nice. When we arrived that's when the issues compiled. They kept moving us...back and forth to different tables. Did they forget out reservation? Saving it for a friend? I was confused. When the waitress greeted us I asked for the happy hour special $5.00 margarita...but apparently if you want salt around the rim it's another $5.00? She was looking at me like I was crazy to ask for salt around a margarita. Also if you wanted a different flavor (mango, strawberry, etc.) that would take it from a 5 to a 10 dollar margarita. I got the $10 margarita. All my friends ordered drinks. We looked over the menu for food....nothing popped out to be exceptional. We remembered that Papi's the Cuban spot has AMAZING food and great margaritas....literally across the street. We cancelled our order (they didn't even start making any of the drinks) and left. The margaritas are $7 at Papi's and you can get SALT and whatever flavor you want :) We came back to Boogalou after eating dinner. It wasn't crowded on a Friday night. Most people are sitting down. They had a huge projector playing a basketball game and playing hip-hop music in the background. I snapped a cute picture of me on the swing, which is a nice gimmick for people to come to the lounge. They have valet for parking. I believe it's 10 bucks but we found street parking. My girlfriend warned me about this place. She planned her birthday there and said they were disorganized as well. Hopefully they get it together or else they'll lose more business.

Who doesn't wanna swing at a bar? Ok, ok, that came out wrong. Clears throat...there are literal swings for seats around the bar. I'm like a kid so I love that. Nothing like getting tipsy and falling off a swing! Perhaps this can happen if you're not careful. The bartenders are quick and attentive. It gets packed on Fridays/Saturdays. I like Tuesdays before it gets thick. There are plenty of beautiful people and the music is on point. Not had the food yet Valet and being across from Mary Mac's tea room is a bonus!

  • Jordan P.

There's no where to sit if you don't have a table. The swings take up way to much space around the bar. It's $1000 to get a table & you only get ONE bottle. I will never ever come back here ever again! This is a disgrace. The only up side is the drinks are a decent price. The dress code is iffy. You can wear sneakers (male and female). This bar is corny. The music is decent as well but there's NO dancing space at all.

Great place! Don't arrive after 8p and I think you're going to get a table --need a reservation! She said reservations are out a week in advance and at most... Food was good... Nice crowd... Cheaper parking across the street ;)

Great food, great ambience, great music, and great service! We got there during happy hour so the food was really cheap. Some drinks were discounted as well, but since they don't have a cocktail menu, be sure to ask.for drink prices upfront. We learned the hard way that certain drinks were $13 each. Overall great experience.

I usually only come here during Happy Hour right after work but I went the day before Christmas Eve to have a little holiday dinner with a few friends. The reason I chose this place is because I knew there would be a possibility of good entertainment and food. I was right about both. First let me say the food here is always good. I have tried almost everything on the menu at this point and there is nothing that has tasted bad. Even if something may not be my fav dish to eat...I have had nothing bad flavor wise on the menu. Downside is that they often run out of things. Like fried chicken...I don't get it but at least their are other good options. Secondly, I went on a Tuesday night and they had karaoke and great variety of old school and new school music. Drinks were good. So no complaints! My friends and I had a lot of fun. Only con that I will say and this is a big one!...is the service. I usually only drink and eat at the bar. The bar tenders are always on point. But upon arrival I had already made a reservation and the hostess rudely told my friends we did not have one. We showed her the email for proof. She hands them the menus and points to where they can sit. Sorry but this is unnaceptable! I've worked the crapiest jobs bit being rude to customers is not cool. We are innocent ppl looking to spend money whether a little or a lot...its our hard earned money. I hate bad service because I've worked your job and I never have given it even on my worst days. So staff! Please get it together! On a high note our waitress was nice and attentative and really sweet. The hookah girls were nice too but not readily available for assistance. So that's all for now guys! Still love this place but no 5 stars until they hire better staff. Seems to be a common issue ppl have here.

Food is horrible. They were out of the first 3 things that I asked for off the menu. Ordered jerk tacos, horrible, shrimp tasted funny. Ordered spinach dip, dip was luke warm. Zucchini fritters was just ok, more batter then anything. Service was ok, nice decor.

Boogalou is a nice establishment. I will say that the Happy Hour is my favorite more than anything. You always have a place to sit and they have nice drink specials and $2/$3 tacos...However....you have to order a minimum of 3 tacos. Thats how they get you lol. They just started offering crablegs on Tuesdays but I have yet to try them because the night I went, they were sold-out -___- There is also karaoke! The music is always nice. The DJ plays a mix of R&B and hip hop.. Drinks are always great especially the mango martinis (my fave)

2 part review... (1) I finally tried their brunch this past Sunday... 5 stars! The brunch is buffet for $25. Your are asked to order one main item from the kitchen before going to the buffet. I ordered chicken and waffles and my friend ordered fish and grits. They were tapas size but tasty. We also did the bottomless mimosas for $20. The buffet had a variety of items. Chicken sausage, bacon, turkey sausage, greens, fried potatoes, pasta, salad, pasta, sauteed vegetables, biscuits, an omelette station and more. The food was amazing. Main issue I had was our table was uneven and it was not fixed while we were there. Some of their ottomans were uneven / broken. (2) Last night (Friday night) a group of girlfriend and I went here for dinner. It was "happy hour" we did not realized their full menu was not served on Friday nights. (I am not really sure when they serve a full menu and would love to know). The smaller menu limited us but overall the experience was good. Staff was great. We did find it strange that we had to order our hookah from the back corner of the restaurant since it is "handled by an outside company". I think it would be better to have servers communicate with this "company" which tables are interested and they come over to take the order. OVERALL : I really like Boogalou. It can be a little hard to keep up with what events they have on which nights. I contacted the restaurant a week or two ago about reservations and was very pleased with how helpful the manager was. Even when my request was not possible she was super helpful and nice.

Been here a few time. Most recent was 12/27(sat). Arrived around 11:30...nice size crowd. This place isnt that big. Prob geared towards VIP more so than the reg crowd. Good selection of hip hop/rap. People here are usually dressed fairly nice.

I visited Boogalou on 01/04/14 and can't wait to swing (on the swings) again. :) PROS *I lololove the swings at the bar....SEXY *Beautiful Venue *Pleasant Employees *Valet Parking ( $10 was a bit steep however, not enough for me to complain) *Sliders were very yummy however, they were pink inside. If you prefer well done, I would suggest making that clear before placing your order. *Great Location *Good Music CONS * I ordered three drinks and wasn't the least bit tipsy. I look forward to returning sooner than later.

I have been to Boogalou about four times now and as much as I would just love to like this place, I can't. Parking: Parking is pretty fair considering the area, just get there early enough and you will have options. You can either park on the street or pay, valet or pay $10 to park in a lot across from Boogalou. Atmosphere' Decor: This place has a slight modern hipster feel with the amazing swings that are placed at the bar which makes Boogalou unique. The Music: The music is pretty good. The DJ spins a mix of old school and new school records. Service: This is where it all goes down hill. The service here is awful! I've been on busy night and on days when the restaurant wasn't that crowded and each time the service is bad. The attitude of the bar staff and the waitresses makes Boogalou below the list of places I would return to. Skip this place, there are wayyy more options in Atlanta.

A hint of luxury appears on the right as I was going east off of Ponce. What used to be a dilapidated row of businesses is now an easy-on-the-eyes watering grounds. This bar has plenty of potential and due to its recent arrival, this review has to be taken with a grain of salt. There are still some qualities that need to be improved upon. From the moment our party walked in, we noted that the environment had us enticed. The swings by the bar seemed to be a gimmick, though still welcomed. It was a more than a moment before we were told we could just seat ourselves. Seemed that either they were short handed, or service was not up to par. Unfortunately, the second was more true. Our waitress had a difficult time understanding our orders. Kamikazes, crown shots, and tequila. We received more crown than we wanted and a round of martinis. I instantly could tell that the waitress was uneducated in the art of mixology and also unknowingly accepted a job out of her comfort zone. It even took way more time than necessary. She apologized and continued her way... ...her way back to fraternizing. Our hookah was great, on the other hand, and was serviced very well. We loved the attentiveness we received with the Miss that took care of our tobacco. Bing, the bartender, was a great asset during the whole ordeal. I remember complaining about the drinks to her and she decided to bring out the correct orders herself. Food was above average for a bar and certainly had the group happy. Our waitress thought our kamikazes were types of martinis... And then took an hour to check us out. I understand that these may be the hiccups of a new business with a bit of growing pains, but it left such a sour taste that I wouldn't recommend it. I'll try to give it another chance soon. There is potential, and I really do hope they climb up to it.

Only thing I didn't like about this place was it was really hard to get a seat or even move around because it was so packed.! It's really nice inside though..I love the swings at the bar..my first time going we saw lil scrappy and Bambi there.! Never ran into celebrities before so I thought that was really cool.! Dying to go back and try they're brunch! Overall had a good experience

Cool little lounge...LOVE the swings and all of the perks they have for female guests (complimentary martinis until 9...watermelon jello shots free entry) but there were A LOT of females. Music was cool but I'd prefer more current music...I understand it's early (before 9) but it was REALLY chill....service was great (I think our servers name was Briana or something like that) she checked on us pretty consistently and the hookah was really good. Went the other day and had the chicken quesadilla for happy hour and it was GREAT...I'll definitely be back to explore during a later time in the night. FYI parking is scarce so be ready to ride around looking for a space or just pay for the valet in the front ($10.....which isn't bad when admission is free and ask a female you get so many perks ^__^)

Me and three of my home girls went here on a Saturday night. We are all from out of town and were unsure of what to expect, but we were pleasantly suprised. It was packed, but not elbows to assholes. The music was AWESOME if you want to let out your inner ratchet. It was a little difficult to get a drink between the people sitting at the swing seats at the bar, but the bartenders were attentive so it was easy to place an order. We didn't eat so I can't speak on the food.

I went on Saturday night and I immediatley thought the ambiance was nice. I love the swings at the bar, this is something I've never seen before. The crowd on Saturday was late 20's on up. The DJ played some new and old hits. What I didn't like was the fact that the drinks were expensive and it was hard to get a drink order in at times. The only reason why my friends and I left to go to another place is because we wanted a drink. I would go back, because during my short time there I enojoyed it.

We decided to do the Sunday Brunch. First, let me say the food was good. I could want to come back for the food. Secondly, our server was great! However, the professionalism and customer care was not good and what I witnessed will stop me and my party from coming back. Around 3:00pm (they stop seating new customers at 3:00 and breakdown brunch at 3:30) we witnessed staff coming from the kitchen, fixing plates their personal plates off the brunch line, in one instance a person in street clothes, standing behind the hot plates, eating. I'm sure if a health inspector came in and witnessed that, that would have immediately been some bad marks and a deduction in their health rating. But not only that concerned me, the fact the staff was fixing plates off the line while there were still customers in the establishment eating was very unprofessional and inappropriate. They had started running out of food in which paying customers couldn't get, which I'm sure the staff fixing plates contributed to that. I understand the restaurant breaks down the brunch at 3:30pm. I also understand staff will eat. However, I believe that staff should eat after the line has been broken down and taken to the back. I have worked in the food service industry and know what was witnessed was very unacceptable, unprofessional, inappropriate, and not sanitary. Again, the food and our server were good but the overall customer service/care needs some improvement.

I went last Saturday for the day party. Arrived at about 5pm and to my surprise, there was only a handful of people. No worries. I wasn't in the mood for a crowd anyway. First things first. I've got to try....wait for it....wait for it....THE SWINGS!! OMG I've been waiting for months to try those darn things! What 30+ grown woman doesn't like a good swing? After my swing photo shoot, the barmaid comes over promptly to take our order. She was polite & very attentive. I ordered the crab cakes and my drink was 1800 coconut & cranberry. The waitress informed me that they didn't have crab cakes. Bummer! But she was very apologetic. I decided to go with the shrimp tacos instead. OMG!! Great decision! They were awesome. 2 thumbs & 2 pinkie toes UP!! We also ordered a side of fries to share. The serving size was so large, 3 people could have shared those fries. Very tasty. The drinks were fab & even as the lounge filled the barmaid never neglected us. T.I. even made an appearance. My only complaints(because it wouldn't be a review if I didn't complain about something): 1. No crab cakes (because I'm a greedy little girl.) 2. Even though I was vibing with everything the DJ played, the music was a tad bit too loud for my liking. (Because I'm an old little girl) lol IMO the venue is too small for the music to be that loud, but hey what do I know? Kudos to the chef!! Very, very impressive!! I shall be back!

Very nice space, decent drinks, but it's way too small (no real dance floor & it's damn near impossible to walk around or even go to the restroom) and the parking is horrible. We went Saturday night and the crowd was decent although def not "young professional". The DJ was ok - lots of Jay-Z, Wayne and Usher. The food was absolutely gross. I had fish tacos and sent them back because they were basically chopped fish sticks on a shell. Very unlikely I'd return at all. Ps the swings are nice, but weird at the same damn time.

Good drinks. Thats it this places is so small. I went here for my friends birthday. I thought the swings would be cool and they're are in the way all around the bar with lazy women who sit there the entire night dancing and everything. They dont move at all omg. The bartenders were quick.. Theres only one way to get the the restroom the bouncers are annoying. One of them tried to push my boyfriend because he was walking the wrong way. Better be glad i wasn't over there dont touch my man. Anyway im so happy my bff didnt pay for VIP like she said at first. It would have not been worth it. AT ALL.. IT WAS SOOOO SMALL in there i cant get over that i felt like everyone was standing right on top of one another. The music was ok the dj played a lot of music from the early 2000s.. Which is cool in moderations lol.

I went for my birthday and enjoyed the food and music. However I choose Boogalou because I thought it was a restaurant/lounge but they treat the tables like clubs. It wasn't busy (there was over 3 tables empty) and they made us get up from the table before all of my guest got their meals and finished their drinks. I was over charged for my drink because the bar tender didn't know how to make it. My drink was mostly ice and I was charged $17/drink. Boogalous has potential but service has to improve.

Food was 30 minutes late but decent at most. Service was terrible. We saw our server five times in the 3 hours we were there (three of the times were because the hostess went to get her). We had a reservation at 8 for a table for my friend's birthday. We arrived at 8 and were seated around 8:15 once majority of our party had arrived. Once seated we ordered drinks and food. Our drinks were delivered at a reasonable time however one of the guests to our party arrived about a quarter after 9, ordered (after looking for the server for 20 minutes and eventually getting the hostess to find her), and received her food before the rest of the table. We told the person that brought out get food that the rest of the table had ordered food at least 30 minutes ago and hadn't gotten our meals. We then asked our server about our orders (on one of the random times we had the pleasure of receiving service) and we finally received our food. Once the food arrived, we promptly ordered our second round of drinks (one which was spilled on a guest in our party) and started eating. During this time one of the girls at the hostess table started going around telling people that they had to get up because they had reservations arriving in 5 minutes. The time was 10:14 and we had just gotten our food. We explained to her that we were waiting on drinks and had just received our food to get her to understand that we weren't trying to be uncooperative, but she told us to take it up with the hostess and proceeded to inform the other tables. Our server came back two times following the hostess coming to our table. Once to ask if we were doing ok when we were getting towards the end of our meal and the next time to bring our checks and tell us that we had to get up right then for their next reservation (meanwhile the waiting area and the table next to us were empty). The waitress then took her time to come get the cards, ran them, brought the tickets back, and literally shoved pens in people's faces to get us to sign them. Needless to say we left as soon as pen met paper and don't plan on returning after the sub par service we received.

Great concept for a restaurant/lounge in midtown. Went here on a Saturday night. Arrived at 11 and the place was packed! Music was being played by a dj and playlist included current hip hop/r&b music. Atmosphere is definitely upscale urban hangout. People were dressed immaculately. Age range seemed to vary but I would say average age was about 28. I would recommend this for a date night or a group outing. Word of caution for group outings would be to make reservations and go early! Other than that, fellas be ready to fork up $20 to get in. Ladies are usually free so the place had an imbalance of 3 to 1 ratio for girls to guys. Even though it was busy, customer service was very attentive. I recommend this place if you are in the midtown area and want to party at an upscale, chic, urban lounge.

Pretty good god for Italian. I had the Carbonara. It was a little oily but - what Italian food isn't. I will eat there again. The ambiance isn't high end. But it's worth the money and a gem.

The place is eye catching as soon as you walk through. The comfy swings at the bar are unique and add a nice touch to the place. I came in with a large party, and everyone seemed to have trouble with the service. We ordered only a few Hennessy shots, and were charged for a ton. The waitress was new, so we didn't fuss over it. She didn't seem to know her drinks very well, so it's questionable of why they chose to hire her. She also took an hour to correct our checks and fix our payments. Even though it took a long time to correct our drinks, they turned out amazing. Props to our bartender, Bing. Our food was good, and the hookah was decent in my opinion. It took them a while to return with new charcoal. This place adds a nice touch to Ponce. It gets pretty packed on Fridays, so get there early to reserve a spot for you and your friends! It's a new bar, and I would recommend it. I just hope they have servers who knew a little more about common alcoholic beverages.

I once loved it here but the crowd has changed men and women can wear athletic gear which changes the caliber of crowd. I am here looking at jordons timberland boots and men wearing t shirts. There are even women in leggings sweat shirts and jordons. A once very classy place is changing quick. Food is great!! But this fri and sat party crowd of ratchet is one im not interested in. Hopefully things will return to super classy as it once was before when i posted my opinion on their social media they immediately deleted my comments and unfriended me instead of responding professionally after all that is what social media is for these days

Came here on the Sat. after Christmas. This was my second time with the first time also on a Sat (in October). Got there around 11:30p and the place was already "jumping" as we say. Definitely a larger crowd than the first time I went. Enjoyed myself both times. The DJ was good. The drinks were good. I had two ciroc peach + lemonade and I had a nice buzz going. They also serve hookah. I didnt try any food so I can't comment on that. The inside is very small so it can feel a little congested (afterall it is a restaurant lounge not an actually club so dont expect the club size)- you just have to find the right spot to stand (or sit if the swings arent being cuffed by the same chicks the whole night) People started leaving around 2a but there was still a decent sized crowd when we left at 2:30a. This was on a rainy night so its probably even more people on clear nights. Parking across the street is only $5 and they also have valet. Overall a good time.

Cannot recommend for Sunday brunch; $25 pp for food that seems pre-made and reheated, buffet is not kept fresh. $9 mimosa. Spills on the floor not cleaned up.

I'd give this place a solid 3.5 stars, so it's rounded up to 4. I passed the building twice, once because I didn't see it. The second time was because traffic was so out of control that there was no way I would be able to turn left into the valet area. *Beware of traffic.* I noticed a lot of out-of-towners making some crazy moves trying to get to valet or park. It was crazy. The moment you enter the door, an 8 foot tall mutant will ask for your I.D. After that, you're free to sit where you please. Many tables were empty, but I'd read about reservations, plus it was just me at the moment, so I opted to sit on a swing. As far as service goes, a female bartender asked me twice if I was ready to order anything, and a male bartender asked me, as well. They were quite attentive. Finally, my party arrived. Somehow, there were enough swings available for all of us. I ordered the lemon pepper wings and a peach Martini. Our lemon pepper wings took forever, and the male bartender (hair in long locs) claimed that he would look into getting our orders discounted because of the long wait. He never did. No big deal. Although the wings were good, $10 for 6 lil' baby wings? I knew I wasn't going to be full but dang, man... I almost ordered more food. lol I ended up getting another drink, which was good. It became quite crowded but not overbearing. The music was a little questionable. It wasn't old school night or anything, but the D.J. went from playing early 2000's rap to 90's music to some 80's music... we were all like "huh?" One of the ladies in our party asked him to play a specific song, and he told her, "I got you." He failed her. The strange mix continued, but it was all good... Valet, please get it together. I waited on my car for about 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile, the rest of my party trickled outside and got their cars right away, leaving me behind. ?? lol Overall, nice place. I heard they have brunch on the weekends. Might be nice. Cool place.

Went tonight for food and drinks with a friend. Parking can be tough in the area with a lot of neighborhood parking saying you can't park until after 9 on Fridays, but I found a spot after about 5 mins of driving. They had $5 valet, but I hate valet so I usually don't do it. The place bills itself as a lounge but it's more of a wannabe club. The music is way to loud for a lounge, you can barely hold a conversation in there without yelling. Food is typical bar food -wings, quesadillas, sliders, etc. I suppose people just go for drinks but we were hungry and got food. The boogalou wings were sweet and spicy so I really enjoyed those. I also had sweet potato fries which never disappoint and a slice of sweet potato cheesecake which was also good. So for food is give it a 4. The swings others have mentioned are interesting, but like others have said you likely won't get to sit in them as people hold onto to those seats for dear life! Overall it's an ok place, but nothing spectacular. Worth visiting but not somewhere I'm looking forward to going again (though I would go again, maybe).

I went to have brunch with a few girlfriends. The hostess was also cleaning off the tables poor thing. She asked us if she gave us a bigger table could we share it with another party and a couple of my girlfriends did not like that. So glad she asked first. lol . We were unaware that it was buffet style and I felt that $25 was a bit much for that. Especially since you had to add another $15 for the endless mimosas or $9 for one mimosa. There was one choice of ala carte item . It was handwritten! And the choices was one plain pancake ,one plain waffle, an omelette or fish and grits. The food was lukewarm and just ok. Our waitress acted like she didn't want to be there at all until it was time to ask her for our change. Slow service. We were supplied with one fork and our water was in clear plastic cups. So long story short not the best $40 you could spend plus tips. Not my cup of tea. Poorly ran.

Another see and be seen lounge portrayed as a club, well...it's supposed to be a lounge, but I don't remember bar and lounges ever having bottle service. If you want to CALL it bottle service. If I am going to pay $300 for a bottle of Ciroc (which in my opinion is INSANE), I would like there to actually be some "service". All the waitress does is come out with a firecracker on the bottle, she holds the bottle in the air until the firecracker burns out and then sits the bottle in a bucket of ice with a stack of plastic cups. Oh, and you get two small carafes of juice. There is valet service, but I don't ever like pay to valet my car, so I parked about a block away and walked. I think it's $10 though. It was free to get in...which I am glad because I would have been highly disappointed if I had paid to get in. It does get packed, and you wont have anywhere to sit if you don't get there at a decent hour. I got there around 9:45pm and it was already beyond crowded. The swings at the bar are a pretty cool concept, but as another reviewer stated, once they are occupied, that's it. You better find another way to get your drink. There was a lot of rap being played, and the DJ would mix in a few old school songs, then go back to the top 10 hood songs you hear on the radio everyday (which everyone seemed to like, so hey -whatever gets the crowd going right?) I only tried the wings, and they were good after they were sent back the first time. When they came back out, they were taken away again because the waitress dropped off someone else's wings. I wanted to try the Philly eggrolls on the menu, but never got a chance to, because I decided to leave. These types of bar/lounge/clubs -or whatever you want to call it are just not my thing anymore, and they haven't been since my early twenties. I should have went to the Soundtable...

I will start by saying, I am not a club kind of a girl! This spot appears to be a bar, however, it is more of a club atmosphere. I went on a Friday night and the crowd was a little immature for my taste. I stayed for about 1.5 hours, ONLY because my sister was visiting and she really wanted to go out! The music for me was a little "hood". I did attempt to try the food. When I asked for a menu I was advised that the only thing available is wings!! Ok- but I don't want wings!! Anyway- I finally convinced my sister that it was time To go. As we walked out of the door-- a fight broke out!! Again-- not the kind of place I want to frequent. I don't think I need to say this , but, I WILL NEVER RETURN!

I call this updated review: Nothing Was The Same I went on a Fri night (again) and here were the results. $5 parking across the street. Gone! $10 valet "bought them out" I found this out after parking my car across the street. I still was able to pay $5 bc of the "mix up" The swings. Just a nuisance! The women on these things, sit like they're royalty all night and won't let you get by to order a drink! The bar staff. They were soo overworked, I had to order my drink twice before receiving it. Bartender forgot to get payment from my friend for her drink. She had to remind her. The drinks. Last time I got a glass of wine and crown and coke for $10. This time my glass of wine alone was $13! Security. Seriously, flicking your wrist ALL NIGHT with that flash light is annoying as hell. There isn't anywhere for people to move in this place so lay off the flashlight flicking. Bottle service. Do you really need bottle service? Do you really need the little firecracker flare thing attached to the top of the bottle? Do you really need the flashlight flicking security guard to escort you to a table? This is a LOUNGE/bar. It is in no way like a club. Just stop. The people. Let's just say one woman's observation of "everyone is just looking at each other," was pretty accurate. I'm not sure what happened in a matter of 3-4 weeks but it was so bad that I overheard two other people say "I'm never coming back here." NOTHING WAS THE SAME!

Where do I begin? So I suggested this spot to some friends after hearing it was a cool spot. So me and the girls head out this past Saturday 2/9/14 to hangout before hitting another venue. We get there at 11ish and walk into a venue that was beyond over packed. The Fire Marshall should have shut down the party as there was no space to even get by anyone. Then before we could fully get into the space, we had men in black redirecting us with mini flashlights although there was no where else to stand. Next we stood by the bar hoping to get a chance to at least order a drink since we did not want to stand and eat but there was no way of doing that with women on swings blocking the area. The swings are very unique but don't allow for customers to patronize the bar. So after standing for an hour some overly drunk customers gave us their swings so that we could sit and order. We sat there for a bit and witnessed a group of women get doused with a drink by a bartender who was reckless and throwing things on the bar top. No more than 30 minutes later I was sitting at the bar with my phone on the bar and I was soaked by a drink knocked over by a light-skin bartender with short hair. My phone, shoes, jeans and purse all covered with a sticky mixed drink. She then took her time to clean it up as she must have continued with her other order. She finally came back to attempt to apologize and offer a drink. A drink does not even cover the cleaning bill for my suede shoes. The bartenders were beyond rude and inexperienced. This venue appears to be yet another small spot trying to be on a level they are not able to authentically be since the quality is sub par. I suggest management take more time in their staff selection, business procedures and customer service. Will not be returning. Signed, The girl with the sticky outfit

I went here on a Wednesday night around 10:30 because I was in search for a sports venue to catch up on some basketball games. I have passed this place several times since I have been living in Atlanta, but it never occurred to me to go in because it never looked like much was going on inside. It is actually a nice place. Some of the other reviews says that it gets crowded and I can definitely see that happening but it was not crowded when I was there. They have a little something going on in there. Nice eye candy and so on. The service is just ok. It is your typical Atlanta lounge. I ordered two Heinekens and some patron for about thirty dollars. It did not look like they had anything on draft. I will have to go back to get the full effect of the place. My bartender was cute and cooI. Some of the other employees there are just plain rude but I wont make assumptions about the reason for that just yet. Ill try one more time.

I come here often I love the atmosphere I love the food, drinks etc!!! I love everything about Boogalou!!! And the Sunday brunch I might add is a PLUS PLUS! Get here early they seem to have a promotion just about every nite a week, and it will get crowded with standing room only

So far so good for me. I went for an event and had a great time..I ordered the Boogalou wings (delicious) ^_^!!! The swings add fun to your flare when drinking :p .. Overall I thought this lounge's interior was a thumbs up. I seen someone order the cheesesteak egg rolls (looked great). However, I didn't make it in time for happy hour so I didn't go crazy w/ food lol. I WILL be going back for that! Enjoy!

I had never heard of this place before but got a last minute invite Labor Day weekend. THE GOOD: The food was surprisingly tasty. I had the egg rolls and crab cakes. The strawberry cake was delicious too. The bar swings are a unique touch, but you can forget trying it out if you don't get there early enough. People hold onto those swings for dear life. The service seemed good and our waitress was nice. We were at our table for more than 4 hours and she never rushed us. THE BAD: My drink was watered down. I think it was a mango margarita or something. And $10 for a drink in a plastic cup is so not cool. The parking situation is a bit confusing. I think the spaces directly in front of the door are for valet only. And if you get there early, there is no valet person on duty yet. On the street to the left of the bar there is a free parking garage for an apartment building. It's right next to Too Groovy Salon. They played a good mix of music (90s & 00s r&b and rap). The later it gets, the louder it gets. You have to yell at the person sitting right next to you which I hate so much. THE UGLY: Be aware that the bathrooms are for one person at a time. PLEASE REMEMBER TO LOCK THE DOOR! I walked in on something real ugly. ADVICE: Don't go too early, unless you don't mind being the only one(s) there. We arrived at about 4:30 on a Saturday and were the only patrons until almost 6pm. Guys, it is against man code to sit at the bar swings. There ain't nothing manly about gently swaying from side to side while sipping your drink, even if you're glued to the game.

I visited this place a couple of weeks ago and figured this review may help the Atlanta socialites a little. Boogalou is just like any other "lounge" in Atlanta. Good bartenders, which means good drinks, something not at other lounge, the swings as bar stools, and the hookah is good (provided by an outside vendor of course). Great concept but poorly run, in my opinion. Very nice set up but for the size Boogalou need to "turn down" a bit. It seems like they don't know when to stop letting people in. It gets uncomfortably crowded and then you have to deal with random people's attitudes while your just trying to have a drink. I visited Boogalou on a Friday evening and arrived around 10 o'clock. The line for valet was ridiculous. What venue has one guy parking cars and another guy taking money? A new venue in Atlanta, on Ponce De Leon requires a minimum of three guys parking cars. Next, after I pay the $10 to valet which is average, I walk in to an over crowded establishment. The music was way too loud for it to be considered a lounge. I finally was able to grab a space at the bar, luckily I was rolling solo, and ordered a hookah and a drink. That was the best part of the evening, seeing my hookah arrive. After that it was pretty much down hill. I begin to smoke my hookah and some chicken next to me begins to wave her hand in the air as if she's trying to signal a plane as if to somehow tell me the smoke was bothering her. I said not a word and continued smoking. After a while I noticed why where I was standing was the only section of the bar that was crowded. Those damn swings don't allow for people to walk up to the bar. And you know once ladies find a good seat that's all she wrote for the evening. Call me bougie but I don't want to feel someone's back pressed against mine while I'm drinking and smoking, unless we're leaving together. Ladies were screaming trying to order drinks, people reaching over me... I had to teach a couple of people what manners were. Anyway, management of Boogalou, if you're reading this learn to turn people away when you get to capacity. Maybe take the swings down from one side of the bar so the top doesn't get so crowded. Well that's my two cents. Follow me on Instagram @kanyurelate. I'm all over Atlanta. #Hookah #Drinks Part is #GoodServiceIsAMust

I enjoyed Boogalous when I was there. The food was delicious and the drinks were reasonably priced. Although the swings look nice, they are very annoying if you are not sitting there because it is difficult to order with the bartender. I do wish the place was a little bigger. Overall it was a nice spot with a decent DJ.

Smh Boogalou, prior to booking this venue for my boyfriend's birthday I read mixed reviews. Some mentioned the place being unorganized inspite of having reservations, this is exactly what happened to us. I called about 4 days in advance and payed a $50 deposit for a table reservation, and bottle service. We hired a driver, on the way there, I'm asking him about the spot as my boyfriend wanted an upscale lounge, the driver assured us it was upscale. Well if this is what Atlanta calls upscale, I'd hate to see their definition of ratchet. We pulled up and immediately knew we were in ratchet city. I saw females dressed all types of ways. We get in and notice one half of the place consisted of really nice booths/tables and the other half consisted of regular booths with small cocktail tables. They tried to sit us on the "reggie side" where there were many none VIP people sitting, but they told us those people would move. We weren't having it. We didn't pay $250 to sit in a regular section when the other side was clearly VIP. When we requested to be on the other side, we were told we could take a look and see if there was a table we wanted. When we walked over we found two of our guests already seated at a table which they were told was our table by a different waitress. When we asked the waitress who was helping us could we sit at the table she said no, 1st she said because there was no service (which was obviously true because our guests had been sitting there for 15 mins without drinks) then she said the table was already bough out. Not sure which story was really the reason. Either way the whole ratchet environment and lack of organization/communication was too much, so we decided to leave. They only get 2 stars because they promptly refunded my $50 deposit. We went to shout and had a blast.

This place was a train wreck.lets start first with the reservations. I attended a party that was supposed to have 12 people at a table. We arrive to find out that 1 square table was supposed to accomodate 12 adults, which meant we spilled over into a middle table of the same size that was to accomodate 15 people. I should have seen the trend because several people were upset with the hostess because their reservations were screwed up as well. (Later we found at that the chick who took the reservations was fired the day before). As we are ordering food the hostess comes over to ask us to move because the party of 15 was ready for their table. Yeah..not going to happen because im we were not eating standing up. So of course we ask for the manager' who never showed up to diffuse the many issues and unhappy patrons. Once we ordered the food took forever to arrive (I had a salad, which was mediocre at best) and others in our party had to send food back because it was cold, prepared incorrectly, or just was not right. ( judging by the prices i expected much more) Still no manager... so they start playing music..now this is a pretty typical atlanta overdressed " grown and sexy crowd" but I didnt expect rachet music all night...I mean damn at least mix it up.i will NEVER return..sad that it was such a bad experience for a first timer. I give one star for the server...

I've been here a couple times. The first you could move around comfortably and we enjoyed. This was a weekday. The second was on the weekend and it was packed! You really had to stay in one place. Bar tenders were on point though. And they were handing out cards for free drinks which I thought was nice. I would recommend it for a party.

BARTENDER BY THE NAME OF ALICIA CHANGED THE TIP I GAVE HER ON MY CREDIT CARD! Let me start by saying that I wanted to like Boogalou because the inside of this spot is pretty nice. I could use a new kick it spot, but this is not it! I went on a Saturday night. It was SUPER crowded. I could barely stand anywhere because every few seconds a flashlight cop was moving everyone out of the way when we had nowhere to move to. I finally made my way over to get a drink when a cpl people walked away and spaces opened up at the bar. The bartender walked up, didn't acknowledge my friend and I, and began cleaning up. I would've been cool with a "hey. I'll be right with you." After she finished cleaning up she seemed as though she didn't want to come back over and serve us. My friend figured it was probably because she seemed like she was buzzing and maybe needed a sec to get herself together. She went and acknowledged some guys on the other side of the bar and ended up not getting our order until minutes after taking care of the guys so that crushed that theory. She finally got our drinks. Jack Daniels in any other bar normally cost between $6- $8. When she opened her mouth and told me $12 I was thrown off. I've drank Jack at CLUBS downtown and was never charged that much. Who charges $12 for Jack??? Chalked it up, kept my mouth shut, and gave her my credit card. I signed for her a $2 tip. I didn't order anything else after that because my ppl got my drinks for the rest of the night. I'm big on keeping up with my credit card activity so when I saw a cpl days later that the bartender (Alicia) decided to change my $2 tip to a $10 tip I was upset. I immediately called my cc provider and they took care of my stolen money, but I wanted Boogalou to know about their thieving bartender and take care of things on their end. When I called about it, I briefly talked to a guy who never let me know if he was management or not. He said he was gonna check on it and call me back. Days went by and he never called. I called again and he put me on hold like he was gonna check on things, but the end result of the call was "I'm not even bout to go through all that. You can come get your money whenever you ready.".....WHAT?! So unprofessional. If that was my place of business Alicia would've been out of a job and I would've tried to save that customer. The guy didn't even care and that was very apparent. Did he really think I was gonna come back up there for $8??? I didn't call to get my money back. He totally didn't get the point of my call. I'm straight on that overpriced and overcrowded place. Such a waste of beautiful decor

Nice atmosphere, server was nice. Food was ok but definitely over priced. 3 crab cakes (very small) for $14. Most of the food that we ordered was pretty spicy. The shrimp salad (not on the menu) was pretty good though. Too loud to talk during dinner to the person next to you. May be different before 9. Charged my card for my bill and someone else's that wasn't with me. That's just bad business. If it was in error a voided receipt would have been in order. Only received a bill for my order, found out about the additional charge the next day on my bank statement.

Harassment. Racism. Sexism. Need I say more? Tonight I attended Boogalou for the second time, this time for a friends birthday. It was more chill than a club night and less crowded. I was the only "white" girl in the building. The event host started giving me "the white girl" shoutouts... it was funny at first and then he "jokingly" kept telling the club that I was a stripper. I confronted him about it after half a dozen times. He immediately got defensive and in my face. Told me I should stop talking before he showed me what it really is -whatever that means. We then decided it was time to go and he thought however he was escorting us out. He proceeded to follow me and to get the door for me and then tell the bouncer that I am not allowed back in for my "bad attitude." - Im sorry that I'm white and you announced it multiple times to the club and called me a stripper. I am actually the associate director of a division of my company. I didn't want random people thinking I was a stripper. He got in my face again and the bouncers did nothing but stand there. They said nothing to him. Apparently at Boogalou its okay for a man to get in a womans face and yell at her, the event host to call out races, and to default women as strippers. The cherry on top? Another person associated with the establishment said there is nothing we can do because he is friends with the owner. I am highly disappointed in this establishment and my friends and I will not be returning to say the least.

First of all, this place doesn't even know its own phone number. The wrong phone number (Organic Food Lounge) is listed on several sites (Yelp, Urban Spoon, Yellow Pages, etc...) including the restaurant's own website... who does that!???! Must be an indication to how this business is run. I FINALLY found a valid phone number on some random site. The guy that answered was soooo unprofessional. He sounded like he was answering his personal phone and was very unhelpful. I was trying to reserve a table for dinner to celebrate a friend's bday... NO RESERVATIONS... first come, first serve. I went once before and they had a limit on the amount of time you could sit at a table. Service was ridiculously slow, to the point that our 'time ran out' before we even received all of our food. Ridiculousness... The atmosphere is ok, but this is no way to run a business in my humble opinion. Can't say i'm a fan...
