*Disclaimer - My review will be entirely skewed by the fact that I was there during training and did not pay for my meal. Delightfully, and fortunately for me, I was in the good graces of the foodie gods and snagged an invitation to dinner on the last Friday before opening. Six of us sat down to a four hour meal where we gleefully tried almost everything on the menu. Given that the wine was flowing free-ly, I can't say I will remember every detail, but here's my best shot: We started out with red wine for all, it's a steak house isn't it? And settled in to peruse the menu which was highlighted with different suggestions to help the servers familiarize themselves with things and so we didn't all order the same. We took our sweet time and ordered everything separately as they brought out all the pre-appetizer goodies - charcutterie, chicken liver pate, pickles, and those heavenly popovers. It's a good thing we were dining because I felt myself getting full! Appetizers: Crab cake - not that great, too bready Hamachi - Delicious! The best one. Tuna tartare - standard but solid Caesar and lobster "cobb" salads were good, fresh, and definitely up to par. Entrees: You know, let me just tell you that people ordered some stuff, but I really don't know because I - cleaver thing that I am - went off the highlighted sections of my menu and ordered the American Wagyu skirt steak. This steak was so breathtakingly delicious that I would almost consider paying $52 for it. But, that delicate price of $0 put it over the top. Perfectly cooked to medium rare, nice salty crust on the outside, so tender you could cut it with a spoon, and quite possibly the most delicious thing I've ever had in my mouth. Sides: Here's where things start going down hill. I was really looking forward to the onion rings because I'd heard about them for months. But, everything fried that we ordered came out tough and soggy. The fresh veggie stuff was good (grilled asparagus, bbq corn, creamed spinach, brussels sprouts) and so were the starchy items like grits and gnocchi. But their attempt at fried green tomatoes made me very sad. The breading fell off and the tomatoes weren't cooked. Not very pleasant at all. Desserts: We took so long with dinner, that by the time we got around to ordering dessert they had run out of the two most popular items - the crepe souffle and the peanut butter chocolate parfait. We settled for everything else. Most thought the carrot cake, peach mango tartin, and date pudding were good, but I'm into the fruity stuff and fell in love with the Meyer lemon meringue pie with blueberry compote and the sorbet selection. Both were perfectly sweet and tart at the same time. Good coffee. Our waiter did a fine job keeping up with the six of us and our multitude of requests, even remembering to refold our napkins when we went to the bathroom. I can't imagine what our tab would have been but, I can wager that given some of the missteps with the food, we wouldn't have been happy paying full price. I'm just lucky I know those people that know some people. Hopefully things will smooth out because the stuff that was on, was really on. Wonder if you can go and just get the freebies and popovers with some wine? That would be nice.

Where do I begin? This place has it all...excellent service, food, décor! For starters I love it when maitre d brings your drink from the bar to your table. Eliminates all worries of spilling drink and allows one to focus on looking fabulous, or at least not falling down. Next they bring out delish bread and a pot of some chicken liver pate, or something. I don't like pate, liver any of that- so I was sorry that I sampled whatever that was but it was just a bad decision on my part. The French bread and butter are perfect alone; they just need to bring more. Then they bring over these gigantic popovers and a large canister of salt. I didn't think they needed the salt and actually preferred the French bread, but my date loved them and they way they bring the recipe out is cute. Everything we ate here was great- scallops, hangar steak, creamed spinach mashed potatoes, but the skate was phenomenal!!!! And the desserts! Oooh lala. Although valet was reported to be free for 90 mins and then 8 dollars we overstayed the time limit and weren't charged anything extra.

I had this place for Atlanta restaurant week.... and I have to say that I wasn't so overly impress with the menu selection, but here is what I had for Dinner. 1) The Duck Terrain,,, wasn't what I was expecting.. 2) My steak was good but not the best I have had 3. The Carrot Cake with Ginger ice cream.. OMG!!!!! I couldn't get enough I wanted to eat my friends plate was well... One other thing that was nice was the complimentary pate and the bread which they called popovers, and they even give you the recipe to make it at home. The staff was great the look of the place was every modern and classic, but I don't think I could afford this place on anything other day. So I can say I have had my experience of BLT.

My disclaimer is that my wife and I ate only appetizers (and treats) at the bar, not the full meal, but this place is great. Stopping in for drinks and a snack before heading out to an event, my wife and I were overwhelmed by BLT Steak. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable, and he makes a mean drink. My wife adored the White Peach Sweet Tea and I thought The Last Ride (a Manhattan variant) was very good. We enjoyed a delicious warm chicken liver pate and a giant and oh, so sublime popover as "gifts from the kitchen". A wonderful start. We shared the Tuna tartare and a special snails fricasse. Again, both were outstanding. Just very well executed. A chocolate chip cookie-type bite was the final treat. The sommelier was performing some molecular gastronomy behind the bar and was willing to explain the science behind his blue caviar - and he too offered us a free taste. Everything was delicious, no one was the least bit pretentious. We had a truly wonderful time and will certainly be back for a full meal soon. BLT Steak is a rare find in Atlanta. W

Great place for small groups or large. I went with neighborhood friends for Downtown Atlanta Restaurant week. Hurry folks it's over on Saturday I think. Great atmosphere, great food and the service was out of this world. There were 6 in our party. We did not want for nothing. The popover rolls were out of this world. I should have asked for one to go. They actually give you the recipe on the tray. Very easy to make, but probably much better coming out of their kitchen. Most of us had salmon. One had steak and the other ordered off the menu. The Beet Salad was out of this world. It's something you typically don't have at home. The salmon was cooked perfectly. We all split some sides. Steakhouses sides are out of this world. My favorite is creamed spinach. Theirs is garnished with nutmeg. Another person ordered Gorgonzola Grits - HEAVEN and I'm from the north, we don't do grits! Dessert was a berry cobbler followed by a homemade chocolate petifor. Music was across the board, not quite what I expected. It wasn't bad, just a very eclectic mix. We all kept saying that we were surprised to here that song playing here. I'd go back!

Pretty good hotel steak joint...although everything is covered in butter. Definitely suggest this place if you are looking for a trendy spot in a trendy hotel. Options are very limited in the area so this is your best bet, and bring your wallet.

Pricey but solid steak restaurant. Started us off with the famous popovers. They were great/interesting but be careful not to fill up! The Wagyu (Kobe) skirt steak was delicious and came out cooked perfectly, served with yummy chimi churri sauce. I wasn't in the mood for steak and tried the chicken (I know, shame) which was great as well. For the sides, I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts with bacon. The grits were delicious too. I'd avoid the jalapeño mashed potatoes (not that spicy or interesting). Didn't get a chance to try dessert, but my girlfriends white grape cocktail was tasty (albeit not that alcoholic). Only real negative was the service. For the price you'd expect to be treated much better. Our server wasn't terrible, but definitely far from $40-50 per entree treatment.

Food was very good, service was good and attentive. Popovers are the bomb. The grilled Brussel sprout side was amazing. They even knew how to make a Vesper cocktail.

We went to BLT Steak for a guys steak night. Right away I was impressed with the decor and the level of service. We put in our drink orders, and started perusing the menu. Apparently 10 minutes had passed(not that we noticed) and the manager came over and apologized to us for the delay with our drinks. He insisted on buying our first round. The breads for the table, and the apps that we ordered were phenomenal. The steaks were all top notch. BLT Steak ranks in the top tier of Atlanta Steakhouses.

First off the pate is unbelieveably rich, it opens up your mind for what is about to follow. The chef sends out this pate just to wet your appetite.............the steaks are ever so delicious...........nice........

A friend and I went last night and both were very happy with our dining experience. We had a great table right by the window, and the service was pretty good - my only complaint would be that our waiter disappeared a couple of times between our last course, dessert and getting the check, but this could have been b/c my friend & I were chatting away and he was giving us time to hang out. To note - I always drink A LOT of water, and the staff was very good about keeping my glass filled! As for the food, it was consistently good across the board. As everyone mentions, their popovers are excellent and, despite their imposing size, not too heavy. My friend tried the pate and said it was also good. We both started with the roasted beet salad, which was excellent and light, with chopped beets, veggies, and pecans. It also had some kind of crumbled cheese, which I did not have but my friend seemed to enjoy. For my entree, I had the horseradish crusted salmon without the sauce. It was cooked perfectly and it was nice that it had just a light breading, and also seemed to be prepared without a lot of heavy oil or butter. It came with roasted cauliflower which was also very good. My friend had the hangar steak, and really enjoyed it as well, along with the accompanying jalapeno mashed potatoes. It was cooked just to her liking, medium. For dessert, I had the ginger carrot cake, which was honestly more of a ginger spice cake to me - not at all like a traditional carrot cake. That being said, it was fantastic - served warm and with a little ginger ice cream. If you like ginger/spice type desserts, this is for you! My friend had the red velvet cake and loved it, along with the coconut ice cream that it was served with. We both thought this was an excellent meal, and a great value for the $25 restaurant week pre fix - the portions were good-sized and we were not rushed through dinner at all, and spent about two hours at our table. With regard to BLT's usual prices, though, I think there are lots of equally good or better restaurants in Atlanta where one can get a similar meal for less. BLT also definitely has that "new hotel" kind of atmosphere - nice, comfortable, but with little character. All in all though, we were glad we tried it and had a nice evening!

Yum. The side dishes were as good as the entrees. The chef is a talent. We had a few dinners here over the course of a convention weekend. Staff and event mgr Rebbecca were great to work with. Highly recommend . You will be impressed.

I went there last night for Valentines Day, My girlfriend and I both agreed that the food was just OK. I had the 14 oz ribeye and I must say it wasn't impressive at all. The ribeye from Ruth's Chris is much better. The atmosphere is nice, but the food wasn't all that great.

Yelp never fails. The taste was superb and seating immediate. Thanks to a great set of reviews I trust in Yelp even more. One of the best steakhouses chains I've found. The basket of Yorky puddings are a great change from regular white bread. Steak compared to Ruth's C. or Mortons maybe a little better. Deserts are weak.

I had never looked at the menu, so I didn't have any real expectations about what the menu or price would be like. As soon as our server greeted us, he spent almost ten minutes going through all the menus...dinner, raw bar, specials, wine book, glass wine and cocktails, BEFORE we even got water. Too complicated! I don't want a thousand options. I was a few really good ones. And guess what, if you are going to spend all that time going over the menus, a girl is gonna get thirsty! I immediately realized that if we wanted the leisurely meal we were looking for we had to somehow regulate our server, because he wanted us to order five courses before we even got our drinks. I'm not going to preach any "in this economy bullshit." If your product is worth the price, I am ready to pay that price! But I just didn't feel like it was. The portions were large, but too large. I want to be able to try lots of different menu items, but their appetizers were huge, and the entrees were ever bigger. This may sound like a stupid complaint, but I would have rather have had smaller portions and not have spent $300 at the end of the night! Plus, I (as a server) have been taught that if you serve a bottle of wine you hold the label to your guest and do not, under any circumstances, hide the bottle. Our server presented the bottle, and then took it away and (hopefully) poured THAT bottle into a carafe. All in all, the food was fine. Not spectacular. I would have paid $150 for this meal, happily. I would rather have had two great meals at other restaurants than waste $300 at one.

The food was great buton the pricey side. I ate there - party of one (and they didn't shuffle me into the bar - although after the place filled up I probably would have been more comfortable there...) after a very long work day because I was staying at the W attached to the place. The waiter greeted me and handed me multiple menus and was friendly enough, but then he ended up with a larger table and a party of 4, and all of a sudden I had side waitstaff and the manager serving me. I don't know if it's because he had those parties or if it's because I ordered the $26 hangar steak and no wine so I was obviously not going to be the big check (although $65 for one person to have dinner seems pretty pricey to me.) I had to ask for a popover - and after reading about them here on Yelp I knew I had to try one. I'm surprised I had to ask for one though. The roasted beet salad and brussel sprouts were divine - if only I felt like I could go in there and order the veggies and not be looked down the nose at...oh well. There's always delivery for the business traveler.

This is one of our most favorite resturants in downtown Atlanta. My husband and I arrived after an afternoon movie for an early dinner. So early,we hadn't made reservations. They didn't open for dinner until 5:30, but opened for us so we could eat and drive home to Chattanooga,Tn. After being seated,we were presented with a crock of wonderful liver pate and warm bead. The popover were "to die for".we both ordered Dover Sole.they had brown butter sauce but we opted for an exquisite olive oil laced with lemn.it was so good.we split a really good Caesar which had a light mustardy anchovy dressing( a new twist for me) as well as tomatoes provencial.yummy.just right. Make sure this great Resturant is on your list the next time you eat in Atlanta.ps : they also serve lunch.AND,on Saturdays.

BLT Steak was one of the restaurants I tried this year for Atlanta Restaurant week. I was highly impressed. First off, you must valet your car, but you get 3 hours free, so its not a place where you're already down like 8 bucks for parking just for going out. (Yes, I'm a cheap-o). They bring out some bread with what I believe to be pate, mixed with red-wine and rosemary. It's really tasty. I heard about their bread, but to my surprise, this wasn't the "bread" that was talked about. That comes later. I did the set menu for restaurant week. The mussels in white wine / cream sauce came out. The mussels were on the small side, but they more than compensated for that by giving a large bowl full. They were cooked perfectly, dressed with julienned carrots, celery, cilantro, probably some garlic/shallots. Good stuff. The rolls came out. They were very unique and tasty. They were basically cooked in a muffin pan, but exploded over the mold, into this amorphous shape, warm and hollow in the center, and crusty/cheese baked on the outside. Paired with the sea salt, and butter, these rolls were crazy good. The hangar steak was a huge surprise. I usually get the filet/ribeye when going to a steak restaurant, so I was disappointed when I realized that "hangar" steak was a fancy name for strip steak aka fajita steak. I figured its on their set menu, so its worth a try. Cooked medium rare, it was tender (for the cut) and tasty. There was a perfect crust on the outside (came out in a cast iron skillet) paired with roasted shallots, thyme, and jalapeño mashed potatoes. I was not disappointed as the flavor from the meat was right-on. The thing is I was full from the apps, so i only ate like 1/3 of it. (I'm not fat so I get full quickly.) It probably didn't help that i sopped up all the white wine sauce from my mussels with the crusty bread. The dessert was an excellent chocolate/peanut butter mouse (spelling?) topped with a crunchy wafer and chocolate sauce, with a dollop of banana ice cream. Can you say j*zz in my pants? This was passed around the table and clearly the winner out of the other desserts selected that day... The wine paring for an extra $25 was worth it if you like trying different wines. I would definitely go back again to try a non-set menu or next year for the restaurant week again.

Atlanta Restaurant Week was the only time my wallet would allow me to visit BLT Steak, but I'm glad we did. The staff was great, and very friendly. Now I don't know if they do it for everyone, and some might consider it tacky, but they reminded us that they do validate parking. Hooray, because at the W parking isn't cheap. The decor is basically what you'd expect for a steak house in a trendy hotel. Lots of chalk boards, dark woods and a great view into the kitchen. The complimentary chicken liver pate was pretty good, but the gruyere popovers were heavenly. Mmmm.... I'm going to be craving those for weeks. The highlight of the first course was the gazpacho. The tomato taste was perfect and the seemly ubiquitous tabassco sorbet was awesome. The duck terrine was so-so. The beet salad hid blue cheese crumbles... an interesting surprise. The scottish salmon was darn good with just a light breading to for texture. It was a nicely cooked bit of fish. The hangar steak was cooked nicely. They go a bit heavy on the pepper for my taste, but that's usual for me. I'll say it's one of the best hangar steaks I've had, but I don't usually order it. It's restaurant week, so options were limited. We ordered additional sides and were glad we did because while most had a flaw they were still better than most other high end steak houses I've been to. The jalapeno mashed potatoes that came with the steak weren't to be missed. Mmmm. The leek and potato hash browns were very tasty but a bit too crispy.. it was a bit too difficult to split with a fork, and fried potato bits flew out. The creamed spinach looked full of spinach, but was completely overpowered by garlic and bacon flavor. All the sides came out in little cast-iron containers.. and one of my dining companions will now probably be ordering a whole set. Dessert was passable. The standout was the berry cobbler with chamomile ice cream. Such a great flavor, good texture and I'm an ice cream snob. The red velvet cake with cream cheese ice cream was good except for the flavorless coconut that encrusted the ice cream. All-in-all it was pretty good, but it was obvious that the menu we were working with was a bit constrained for a place like BLT Steak. Great decor, excellent wait staff and darn good food. I'd definitely be back if someone else was picking up the tab.

There are better steak houses in Atlanta, and at these prices I would expect Prime steaks (not Choice). My biggest complaint here is the miniscule portion sizes of the sides supposedly designed to share. At seven dollars I would expect at least enough mashed potatoes for two people. Another sort of peeve is that everything is served in cast iron vessels--they are bulky and hard for the servers to handle. They also take up way too much space on the table. Just a silly gimmick, restaurants have been serving food on plates for years and I see no reason why BLT can't do the same. This place is exorbitantly expensive as well. Then they sock you with a $5 fee to valet park. Nice.

  • Ryan H.

By far an excellent dining experience. Of course it was a little expensive, but I recommend going all out if you are there. Get the steak, eat the popovers, and save room for dessert. I was not impressed by the oysters, but I guess that is more the oysters fault than anything. I hope to go back soon.

Nice restaurant next to the W Hotel. We were there on a Sunday night and it was very very quiet. We had the crab cake, trout and the filet. All were very good. You start with a pate and then popovers come out before the appetizer. Nice atmosphere, attentive staff and good food.

Ate there Friday night and had a slightly bizarre experience. 4 people politely greeted us... Could not find our reservation.. But it was half empty... They took way to long wasting our time standing there ....Finally went to seat us ... We were motioned to follow a waiter... We did, into the dining room, well.. Waiter did not realize he was supposed to seat us and instead we found ourselves being the unwitting assistants standing over other guests! Servers were completely dispassionate in their service and discussion of menu.. The management never came by to ask how it was... Yet I saw lots of suits talking to each other....they seemed to forget about the customers. Lobster salad was wellvprepared but only two pieces of lobster for$27--very poor price performance. Quality of food oveall was very good but the service vibe was just painful... The staff seemed quite unhappy and just not into it where u saw it on every face. Fire the people manager and keep the chef and add more lobster to the salad! Not a good value for the investment-

I went on Thursday night during the opening week and what the staff lacked in speed they made up for in alacrity. Certain menu items were "out" by 7pm and the sommelier was still feeling things out, but the food - from the appetizers to the "popovers" to the steaks, sides and dessert were fantastic. I had the American Wagyu Skirt Steak and it was phenomenal. I would have like a little more guidance in picking my signature dipping sauce, but the food was excellent. The bar staff, pre-meal, was a tad bit over-eager but I'll take that every day. Overall, a solid experience that I predict will only get better as they iron out the kinks in the order/delivery category. 3.5 hours to eat dinner is a tad excessive.

Blt Steak was my restaurant of choice for my 18th birthday. The decor was dark and very fine dining looking. They had an open kitchen which I love. The popovers were incredibly delicious. I was greeted with happy birthday from the host and waiter. The steak and veal cheecks were amazing to eat. However the sides that they do give you with the entrees were bland and tasteless. I highly recommend getting the macaroni and cheese with truffle oil as it is one of the best that I have ever eaten. Our peanut butter parfait with banana ice cream was out of this world delicious. I am an aspiring chef and my father told the host that when making the reservations and to my suprise they told me to come back to the kitchen to meet the highly acclaimed chef. This was no two minute talk, the chef spoke to me and gave me advice about the journey of becoming a chef and gave me a tour of the whole kitchen which was amazing. I would definatly go back but have to wait for hotel restaurant week to roll around again because that is the only way that I can afford it.

I am going to keep this short, since it is based on only one visit within the first week of the restaurant being open. But I went last night and had an absolutely delicious meal. My chopped salad was full of crunchy components and the dressing was pitch perfect. My NY strip was craveworthy. Cooked to the perfect temperature with just the right amount of salt and the round of compound butter melting on top of the meat upped the decadence factor. The leek and potato hash browns had a deep golden crust and creamy interior. Creamed spinach with nutmeg tasted just as the classic should and the consistency was spot on. They forgot to bring us the lauded popovers, but quickly remedied the oversight after we brought it to their attention. Great space. Good food. Nice people. Happy to have it so close by even if it is a bit cost prohibitive for most in the current economy. Can't wait to get back so I can do a full review with pictures.

We went with a party of four and had to wait a half hour for our table....no real biggie but the cocktail service in the Lounge was very slow and fairly inattentive...cocktails were great but very small and a little pricey ($12.00 for a very small cocktail and I didn't even get a buzz after two of them--but what can you expect from a hotel bar, right?). We had to go to the bar and get our own drinks for the second round....cocktail waitress disappeared and the lounge was only about 1/4 full. Love the atmosphere of the place but they definitely need to put more emphasis on service if they want to keep the "foodies" coming back for repeat business. When finally seated we had to flag down a waiter to place our order....food was really excellent however....entire party loved everything that was served off of the menu...only real drawback to the entire evening was the slow and inattentive service...we'll definitely come back again for another try...

Not wanting to have mediocre meal at the airport or munch on salty airplane snacks, we came here for a late lunch. Being a visitor of Atlanta, I was not aware that finding a proper sit down good lunch spot in downtown area during late afternoon, on a weekend was nearly impossible. BLT was still offering lunch menu past 2pm. Thank goodness. The food was familiar and executed well. We liked the complimentary popovers (printed reciped included!). The setting is elegant, paired with wonderful service... all this allowed us to calmly enjoy our last hour with our dear friend and host. The host/manager even came to chat with us briefly. Nice touch.

I've been here more times than I care to admit. I've always found the food quite solid, although the prices seem like they were also airlifted from New York. Usually brightly lit, I feel like this place is frequently understaffed - if they actually had a full weekday night they would be crushed. That being said, I enjoy the menu. The popovers and bar snacks are tasty, decent beer selection The Chinese five spice chicken salad is hardly authentic (the goopy sauce is a bit much) but still very tasty - 4 stars The lobster Cobb has very generous portions and is always delicious. 5 stars Tuna tartare is great. Ribeye - excellent, served in a cast iron pan. Great seat, wish it was a little warmer or popping when I got it, but amazingly easy to slice thorough. Sides are good but always strike me as extremely expensive at 10 bucks. For asparagus? Really?

I had a business lunch here Friday. BLT is in the W Hotel. Valet parking. Not too crowded. Modern interior. Not as clubby as BLT in DC. (It's originally from NYC; haven't tried it there.) The hamburger is absolutely terrific. Huge. Medium rare. Blue cheese and caramelized onions on top. Accompanied by fries. And it is terrific.I can't remember last time I've had a hamburger this good.

So just in case no one has mentioned it, if you're a cheap person don't come here. If you're use to cheap fast food don't dine here either. Yes the food is pricey, yes it's upscale. But they have a great menu selection that will satisfy you. Staff is always polite, and always on point with the silverware placement. One thing I will say is that if you hate the air conditioning please bring a sweater, they keep the restaurant chilled.

Located in the lobby of the downtown W hotel, BLT Steak claims to offer a superior upper-tier dining experience with fine food. The decor although contemporary, lacks the wow hip factor of similar establishments. Service wise; there is an attempt to be formal; but when it is done in a snobbish insincere way, it is perceived as trailer park trash politeness. For example, asking if we had a reservation and the restaurant is empty lol. I understand it may be in the hostess script training guide, but the staff should use common sense. Furthermore, servers are sometimes trying too hard to be classy but their demeanor and message is delivered the wrong way and it is way too noticeable. Being Down to earth and hospitable goes a long way; especially since the menu is priced on the high side but doesn't match the service delivery to justify it. Now if we forget about all that; the snobbish and curt wait staff and the fact that the service delivery experience is truly not upper-tier (menu prices are, so the expectation is set high); the food on the other hand is excellent, truly. That's why BLT still earns the three stars. For dinner, the steaks are amazing and cooked to perfection. Ceviche and lobster mac n cheese are very memorable. For lunch, the burgers are excellent and the matchstick fries and salads were equally great. They have a nice and heavenly popped bun that is served with foie gras at dinner which comes with a take-home finger size booklet containing the recipe to make it at home; nice touch.

I went here on a business lunch with one of our carriers that we work with. Started off the night with the BLT Mule cocktail, which was very interesting. Some kind of vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer all made for a very refreshing and tasty combination. I liked it so much that I went ahead and got another after finishing my first. We got the seafood platter for the appetizer, which included an assortment of various oysters, clams, lobster, tuna tartare. Everything was fresh and tasty but the clams had a little sand in them. My favorite was the oysters which had a really nice tasting brine and the lobster. My main course was the 22 oz bone in rib eye cooked medium rare with some accoutrements that were shared among our party including BBQ corn, garlic mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus. The steak was flavored quite nicely with the herbed butter and the Béarnaise sauce went perfectly with each tender morsel. My only complaint was that my meat was a bit too charred, which caused a burnt taste in parts of the steak. For dessert we all ordered the "special of the day" which was an ice cream sandwich with chocolate chip cookies as the buns. We ended up waiting 20+ minutes and it never came until the owner came to our table and stated that the ice cream was not up to par that day and offered us an assortment of popular options on the dessert menu to try, all on the house. Everything was good but we were all still a bit disappointed. Service was basically on point and our waiter was attentive and helpful throughout the meal. Overall a solid dining experience.

(Based on experience in Aug 2014) Where do I start? I was worried that when my friend and I came down from our room at the W Atlanta Downtown that we'd be turned away for not having a reservation. I had a fear of that because not only was it certainly dinnertime... there was also at least one convention going on and there seemed to be a lot of people in the restaurant. Not only did we get seated straight away, we had the most delightful server (I believe he was named David). After a few minutes with the menu, my friend and I had questions regarding the prix-fixe menu they were offering that evening. He answered all our questions and after we each ordered our selections from that menu (instead of the standard, everyday available ones) - complete with wine flight for each of us - we were delivered a popover. OMG. The popover, people. This popover was amazing - just the right about of flake and butteriness, and cheese content without being greasy cheesy.. Additionally, there was a paté served (chicken, if I recall correctly) that was just... out of this world. Our mains were just fish and steak (steak for her, fish for me), and my absolute favorite part there was definitely the chimichurri sauce followed by the fried okra that we each had chose as a side. Now, it wasn't super spectacular when we got it at the table - in fact we both thought it was kind of blah. But when we ate it as cold leftovers the next day, it just became a perfect fusion of flavours. Would I go here again? ABSOLUTELY. Would I stay at the hotel again? NO WAY.

I was surprised, I mean surprised that this place actually was AOK. Clearly my expectations we're low but the breakfast was good: eggs farm fresh, grilled tomatoes with pesto zest. All delicious. Service was easy slick which I appreciated on a Sunday morning.

Very good restaurant; I love the veggies here. Service is pleasant and the maitre'd is excellent. He makes a point of ensuring everything is up to specs. I say pleasant, but the kitchen is a little slow and somewhat haphazard as you can tell if you keep an eye on things. The food is decent if a little amateur. I had the miso-glazed alaskan cod, which was a mess of miso sauce but the fish was cooked fairly well and deboned correctly. Another night I had the salmon and that was presented and prepped much better. I thought the sides were STELLAR. I had brussel sprouts and the hen-of-the-woods mushrooms, both sans butter, and they executed these perfectly. If I were them, I'd knock down the price of the sides a buck or two, since they may seem imposing to some folks but really make the meal in some ways. Oh, and they're served in a little cast-iron skillets which is tres Southern. I started with a vegetable chopped salad, which I'd recommend over the other oily green starters. It's a great mix of greens that are all very fresh and layers in a nice mix of textures. The raw bar is a little weak, as you can tell when you walk in. If you want to do raw fish, crustaceans, or bivalves for our science crowd, check out Umi or Sushi House Hayakawa. :) There is a fairly comfortable "drink" bar scene, and their alcohol list is good. There is complimentary bread and a little petits cookie on your way out, which is a stab at French cuisine, no pun intended considering this is a steakhouse.

Yummmm! My filet mignon was generously seasoned and perfectly seared, and the Gruyere popovers were a nice touch. The sticky toffee pudding was a bit of a miss, but the table enjoyed the complimentary chocolate petits fours! They were very accommodating to our constantly expanding group of colleagues, pulling over tables and making sure food was delivered quickly.

Stopped by for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the lobster salad and gnocchi parmesan. The food was a bit overpriced, but I enjoyed the large chunks of lobster in my salad. The gnocchi on the other hand was not that great. It was a bit bland and pretty small in portion. The coolest things about this place is that they have a raw bar with clams, oysters, lobster, etc. in the center of the restaurant. If I were to go to BLT again, I would have to order something from the raw bar. Otherwise, great ambiance and dining experience. Food Rating:4/5 Service Rating:4/5 Ambiance Rating: 5/5

This is definitely one of my favorite chain steakhouses. APPS Bacon Chimi - charred to perfection. These salty large slabs are topped with herbs and soaked in lemon. A must have! Pop Over - Cheesy puffy heaven! Add butter and melt away. SALADS Lobster Salad - delicious! Big chunks of lobster with bacon and avocado, bits. Could use less lettuce and more hearty parts.

Every thing we ate from the Wagyu beef to the Filet to the Mac and cheese was seriously outstanding. Service was fantastic. Honestly was surprised at how good this restaurant was given its in a hotel but I live in Atlanta and have been to all of the top restaurants and I would put this one near the top. Spend a night at the W. Eat dinner here and just have a fantastic relaxing night.

This is one of my Top 10 Atlanta Steakhouses. The meal I had here was one of the best I've ever had in the city. Their chef is curing all their meats & cheese for the antipasto platters in house, amazing steaks, delicious seafood, and the dessert was to die for - maple bacon donuts! An excellent wine list compliments the food, and I sampled a sparkling red for the first time. It was so good! A perfect wine for a hot day in the city. I'd recommend BLT Steak to anyone looking for a big night out. Just make a weekend of it and grab a room at The W Downtown. Oh, what really made BLT Steak a 5-star experience for me, well us, was that my husband got to park his car, The Exocet, out in front of the hotel. Can't wait to come back soon

It was so nice I ate twice! Wow I was blown away by the professionalism, attentiveness of the staff, all the way up to the manager! I've eaten at many great steakhouses throughout the country in places such as Las Vegas and NYC and BLT was quite memorable. The meal is started off with muffin shaped bread, and then there is a pate spread. The steaks are served on Straub pans and cooked to perfection, the peanut butter/banana desert is on Zagat's top dessert list. It was such a great experience I came back the next night and had the tuna. I can't wait to come back the next time I visit Atlanta!

I can honestly say blt has the BEST STEAK I EVER HAD IN MY 25 years! I can still taste it (I wish) the decor of the place is bland but pleasant! As many times as I've been to the w I've never been to this wonderful restaurant! Im actually making reservations for Valentine's Day with my girlfriends and hopefully jump over to the w after. The drinks are weak so I would say save yourself and go the the bar next door! Great foodie experience i will DEFINITELY go again!

I had high hopes for this chain based on feedback from a colleague, but unfortunately, consistency in the steaks was disappointing. I ordered a mouthwatering 22-oz ribeye medium rare, but it came out medium well. I had to take full advantage of the (admittedly delicious) bernaise, peppercorn, and roquefort sauces to make the most of my overcooked steak. Half of our table of 11 had perfectly cooked steaks, and half were way overdone. Appetizers, popovers, and sides were all excellent, though. Service was a little slow, but very accommodating and friendly. Not a terrible experience, but I don't think I'll be coming back.

For breakfast when staying at the neighboring W hotel, this place is excruciatingly slow, even when virtually devoid of other customers. Took 5 mins to get a table, because staff were busy chatting in the kitchen. Getting coffee and OJ took another 5+ minutes (just one other party in entire restaurant). Finally saw a basic breakfast 15 mins after arriving at the door. I would not risk coming here for dinner on a busy night!busy night.

....was staying at the W Hotel on business...went down for an early Sunday night dinner...restaurant practically empty...asked for a table of 1...snotty hostess told they wouldn't accommodate a party of 1 because they were hoping for larger parties...great service for a what is probably a sub par dining experience...walked out and will never stay at a W again.

I was on the way Sunday to check out the Atlanta Aquarium. But first, a breakfast/brunch was in order. Stopped in at the Waffle House right around the corner, but it was rather crowded and had zero coziness. So, we were happy to walk into BLT, it certainly had an up-scale vibe, which, being from LA, I like! While it was 64 degrees outside, the first thing I noticed was that the air conditioning was on and rather frigid inside. I mentioned that to the manager, she explained that they have it on to keep the humidity down. So, in other words, deal with it. We sat in a booth, because they are so comfy, however, the air conditioning vent went around the entire dining room and dumped cold air on us. Fine, on toe the other aspects of the service. Our young female server got our drink orders - one fresh OJ and a Latte at about 11:45 ... fine. Then I mentioned that I have a Canola allergy whilst looking at the menu, just to know what I could order that wouldn't involve that nasty, fake oil :) It took her about 15 mins to figure that out and come back to our table to take our orders. So, orders went in at about 12:00 ... food arrived at 12:20 .. considering that there were about 5 tables taken in the entire restaurant, that took a while. I ordered the shrimp and grits (32 dollars) and my companion the French toast (14 dollars) with a 5 dollar side of bacon. The French toast was huge, lots of fresh food, the bacon was ample and there were 5 medium-sized shrimp on my grits. So, for 32 bucks, this was about twice as much as the dish should have cost. At 12:22 our server came by to ask if we were enjoying everything, yes, we were, but could I have a Bloody Marry as soon as the law allows? She said yes... anything else? And then she never came back ... So, by 12:42 we had finished the food and a colleague of hers, who had overheard my order for a Bloody Marry, came by to ask if were done and cleared the dishes. He also asked if I had gotten that drink, I said no, and told him I no longer wanted it. Well, it was on the bill, which he then corrected. All said and done, the check came to 65.88, for a rather normal brunch and rather lack-luster service along with a bone-chilling temperature all along. I've had some great dining experiences in Atlanta so far. With excellent and attentive service. The final strike against this "prestigious" restaurant in the fancy W hotel was when we went outside to get the car back from the valet and the fellow there informed us that we should have gotten the parking validated by the restaurant in order for it to be free. So, I went back inside to have that done. Couldn't the server brining us the bill have asked if we had parked the car with the hotel when he handed me the check? I realize that most restaurants don't put on their best service staff during these hours on a Sunday, but at the least, they should hire folks who know how to provide proper service that reflects the prices that are being charged for the food, which was, after all, pretty decent, just not for those prices (in regards to the 32 dollar plate of shrimp and grits which certainly cost the restaurant less than 5 bucks in ingredients). Meaning that the rest of the experience should step up to that level of expense which creates a lot of expectations, certainly more than I would have had eating at the Waffle House :)

Unfortunately, my review is not based on food.. after waiting 20 minutes for coffee and water, e gave up and left. At 8:15 AM on the morning of our arrival, the restaurant had 5 tables of people and was 90% empty. Service is the worst of any restaurant I have been in in years. Save yourself grief and money and go somewhere else like we did..

Uh, well, this is a tough one. J was out of town most of the week, returning yesterday morning. Our pre-Valentine's dinner was Tues night before he had to get to the airport, so he wanted to do something nice for an early lunch Fri upon his return since I had to work last night. He thought of BLT, where we had one excellent meal last year and I was game! I have to say - I was disappointed. The staff was kind of all over the place, though our server/bartender did eventually apologize for "being out of it" (um, after I said something to the other server) - but, really, especially now that I'm back working in the restaurant biz, there were just too many gaffes and too much lag time . . . from getting our drinks to our food arriving and me not having a fork, to . . . you get the idea. No one was on their A-game. That said, hence the star-docking, the food was good. Our tuna tartare with avocado was delish and the filet was a perfect medium rare. While the green beans were good, I was annoyed that our server didn't explain that they come with crushed potato and tomatoes on top - I like both of those things but when she says the side of the day is "sauteed green beans," I don't expect extra toppings. I may be too picky, but for a place this pricey (even for lunch!) - I expect a little more.

Disappointing considering the high cost. Ordered the warm spinach salad, 14 oz ribeye, brussels sprouts, Gouda grits, jalapeño mashed potatoes. The sprouts and jalapeño mashers were outstanding. The rest was a little uninspired. Not bad, but no "wow". I saw all the reviews raving about the popovers. Again, tasty, but not a wow for me. The big wow happened when the check was presented, but not a good one.

This is my second time at BLT Steak, first being the location in Charlotte. I can only speak of my only experience here. The steak my fiance and I ordered was medium, but it came out rare. I had them redo it and my steak was pretty much burnt with no flavor remaining. I tried to dip it in their house steak sauce, but that didn't help. Service was pretty good and the manager saw that I didn't finish the steak and offered a free dessert. I wouldn't come back for the food but the service was great.

OMG. The popovers. They're amazing. I could have eaten just the bread and nothing else. The filet with bernaise - outstanding. If you want an excellent steak dinner at or near downtown, this place is outstanding.

I've never had a better steak in Atlanta! I went for dinner, sat at the bar and was pleasantly surprised. Sarah explained the prix fix dinner and I ended up having the Waygu steak with the mushroom side. It was amazing! The service was outstanding, from Sara's smiling greeting to the continued professional attitude from all the staff members who interacted with me the entire evening. I will defiantly be back!

Overall great experience. Keep in mind, you are coming a restaurant in the W at a relatively new building in downtown, thus you will be paying for the atmosphere. The food is said to be somewhat French inspired which is evident by the delicious pate they first bring out. We started out their signature popovers which were great. Big crusty top with an dense bottom. I don't think I like popovers in general but I still thought it was pretty good. Oysters were good, can't screw that up. For the entree, the steaks were great, brought out big hot plates which is always vital. The sauces were great as well, nothing special. For sides, we have mac n cheese, corns, and brussel sprouts which were all pretty good. All in all, BLT is good if you realize you are about to have dinner at posh place. If you are visiting Atlanta, BLT probably isn't the best choice to taste Atlanta. However, if you want to dine in Downtown Atlanta and want the experience, then BLT is a safe choice.

BLT (Bistro Laurent Tourondel) Steak is an upscale steakhouse/bistro located on the ground level of the W Atlanta Downtown. Like the W hotel, BLT Steak is very stylish and sleek. The restaurant is finely decorated and features a raw bar, wine room, open kitchen, giant artwork, and large, private dining areas. However, this isn't to say the restaurant is strictly fine dining as a friend and I recently stopped by here for a casual Sunday lunch. We were one of only three parties. BLT Steak's lunch menu consists of salads, sandwiches, burgers, and desserts. I tried the certified Angus beef hamburger and the spicy tuna sandwich. The burger came with regular fries and the tuna sandwich came with Old Bay fries. Old Bay is a red seasoning that is sprinkled over the fries. The fries are served in metal cups. Both dishes were excellent. The beef and tuna were cooked to the appropriate temperatures and the ingredients included with each were fresh and delicious. The burger, by default, comes with lettuce, tomato, and onion. You can add a variety of cheeses and additional toppings for $1 each. I had a slice of Vermont cheddar cheese (burnt orange in color) and it was very good. The Angus beef patty was thick and hearty. The tuna sandwich came packed with all sorts of ingredients including sliced avocado, chopped onion, egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and more. The sandwich bread was grilled and coated with what looked like olive oil on the inside. It was a little salty, especially paired with the Old Bay fries, but still made for a terrific gourmet sandwich. Complimentary BLT "signature" popovers are served with each meal and they are great. Popovers are hollow rolls made from egg batter. I've seen them served at other nice restaurants like the ones attached to the Neiman Marcus department stores. The popovers at BLT are big, doughy, and very tasty. They are served with soft butter and salt which make the popovers taste all the more better. It's a nice way to start off your meal. Due to the generous portion sizes, we had leftovers. Our server, Leslie, packed each item neatly away in its own separate high quality container. She even included a small glass bottle of ketchup for our leftover fries. Needless to say, the service was exceptional. Valet parking is available directly outside the restaurant. BLT will validate your valet ticket so parking is complimentary.

One of the best dinning experiences! The food and service was excellent. The lobster and avocado cobb salad was very good. The lobster was fresh and did not have lobster roe and so did not taste fishy. The wine service was excellent. They worked as a team and ensured our glasses was always full. My wife had the rib-eye which was very good. It had a smokey flavor to it and cooked perfectly (med). I had the braised short ribs. The ribs were by far the best, biggest and "fall off the bone" meat I've had! The kids shared a pizza and mac n cheese. The pizza and mac n cheese was very light and very good. It 's one of the healthiest kid pizza's I've seen. We ended the night with a sticky toffee pudding. Again, amazing. This BLT (in the W hotel) is a must! A 30% tip was well deserved!! #atlanta #bltsteak #finedining #food

I've been before in the evening for oysters, drinks and dinner but this morning I went with my 7 year old niece for breakfast which was as good as their dinner. Highly recommend the W Egg (I think that's what it was called) basically a florentine Benedict with crab, it doesn't get much better than that. The service is always great, the staff is amazing and I've never had a bad meal or experience here.

I'm a fat, culturally refined country boy and I know a thing or two about preparing sliced up livestock. Let me tell ya that 22oz bone in ribeye is fanfuckingtastic !!!!!! The side vittles are scrumptious and the service is amazing! Don't leave downtown until you try this place. It is in the ground floor of the W hotel. Bring your appetite .....and your wallet. WELL WORTH IT.

To all, what a wonderful experience! The service, with Krista at the helm, was impeccable. I'm in the ad biz, and my job requires me to entertain my clients at the very top spots ( Veritas, Madison park, Le Bernadin, as well as the original BLT NYC spots) and my guests and I were taken aback by the southern charm, gentility, and graciousness of the staff, especially Krista. You have done a wonderful job of transplanting a NYC product into a world of hospitality we don't see much of anymore. Kudos! Btw, thanks to the staff at the W for taking care of my dog, Spivey! And we'll ask for Krista next time!

Well, if I ever need a steakhouse in Atlanta, I know right where I'M going. BLT. Yum. Walked in, it is situated conveniently (too conveniently, if you ask me) next door to the W Atlanta where I was staying, and was pleased with the minimalist decor. It was very inviting. Sat down and had immediate service. My favorite type of restaurant! He was really awesome. My family and I (there were 3 of us) immediately got down to ordering some really delicious, fresh, briny, salty fabulous oysters. It was a mix and I wasn't disappointed in any of them. A plate of bread was delivered that was forgettable, but it was a nice touch when you're hungry and waiting with fork and knife in hand for food you haven't even ordered yet, if you know what I mean. Placed our order and then we were greeted with manna from heaven, hereafter referred to as 'popovers.' What is that puffed up golden deliciousness? Where did that soft, bread-y bubble o' carbs come from? I don't know, but when you tell me to butter and salt something I know it's going to be what I ask for as my last meal. I was NOT disappointed. Now for the main course - put your seat belt on, we're going for a culinary ride on a blissful food freeway: I wanted a bone-in steak and was directed to the fabulous 14 oz ribeye. It was too much steak for me at one time, but no worries, I saved the rest for later! It was perfectly charred, which I think is a signature of theirs. Thank you for that nice touch. It was perfectly cooked and perfectly eaten, which is to say fast. My son had the 7-Spice Duck Breast and could not stop talking about it! I didn't try it, I'm not a fan, but the presentation was fabulous and he couldn't stop going on about it! My daughter-in-law had the 8 oz filet. That's probably the size I should have gotten instead of ordering the whole cow. She loved hers as well. For sides I ordered for my steak, foie gras. Delicious. It was not the best I've had, but it was creamy and smooth and had a nice flavor. I really liked it. My son ordered a side of onion rings that were stacked so pretty! They not only looked good, but they tasted great as well; crispy, but not overly so. Just really great rings. I ordered the jalapeno mashed potatoes. I think they should probably work on those a bit. I was not impressed. I don't think those two tastes go that well together and I LOVE both of them separately, so. We also ordered the Macaroni and cheese. It had bacon and tuffle oil, but I didn't taste the bacon at all. It was a little too much for me. I definitely think the portion sizes were much too small in relation to the over-the-top prices. I wouldn't recommend the sides that I had, really. We passed on dessert, the popovers and steak with sides were a LOT so be careful if you'd like to fit dessert in, or if you'd like fit in pants ever again. The service was really good, I appreciated that. The food was above par and really would recommend it.

In Atlanta for a little business and looking for a restaurant that was close to the Hotel downtown not in the buckhead area. Recommended to BLT Steakhouse in the W Hotel only about a 1 mile away ride - but whatever you do before you start out in Atlanta is find out that no matter where you go the cab ride is $12.00 what a phucking rip off for a 1 mile drive. Not much I can do at this point other than eat it and bear it. Arrive to the W and originally I did not want to dine here as any place that serves Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner how can it be a top end Steakhouse. Let's just say having this preconception was completely off base. Obviously in the Hotel W out cove it's not a white tablecloth oak type steak house but the food itself does make up for much of its shortcomings. Having a drink at the bar first which is not staffed on a Sunday night other than a waitress to serve us is well disconcerting to say the least. I understand their not busy but you can't afford a bartender at $18.00 a glass? After some pre dinner drinks and a nice mix of special popcorn & Olives which is bar side complimentary we are seated. I no frills dining area is your choice that overlooks the circular valet area. Our waitress was attentive but not overly helpful in our search for dinner choices. Menu is straight forward steakhouse fare without the ambiance frills. A 4 Shrimp Cocktail was ordered for starters which were very nice U10 shrimp prepared traditionally. Took quite a few minutes to get extra horseradish even though it was ordered pre appetizer but it did finally arrive. Fresh bread and chicken liver Pate was good but the real treat were the homemade popovers with her butter to spread. Unreal now these for breakfast would be a treat. Entrees were a Bone in 22 OZ rib eye prepared Medium rare to perfection. A NY Strip was also ordered and she warned "Charred would be Charred" Unfortunately she was mistaken as barely a char was found on this wonderful piece of meat. Now only if had arrived as promised but it was still excellent. Two sides a Macaroni with cheese with bacon and truffle oil was absolute killer where the potatoes leak hash brown was really only average. Nicolas the manager offered us desert which we split a cheese cake topped with sorbet that was unlike any cheesecake I ever had before again good, different but not traditional. Valet parking was offered to be validated but we were stuck with a 12.00 cab ride back. All and all truthfully I enjoyed it very much. The steaks although not a 10 were very good and the appetizers and sides were for the most part excellent. The bread and popovers were a nice touch and outrageous but the service was lacking for a place of this price point. Food was exceptional - service and ambiance not so much. I'll give it a 3 which should be 3.5 and would do again but I need a little ambiance and attentive service for these price points.

I am so disappointed with the POOR service we received here. Our food was cold and our drinks sat for an hour before anyone came to refill them. We waited an hour for our food to be served to us, being that the restaurant was empty and we were the only people in here at the time. I though this restaurant was a nice restaurant, guess I thought wrong.

I would eat here again if I was staying again at the W Hotel. It was pretty good. First they bring a popover out . . . it was fantastic. Amazing, delicious, delightful. I didn't know what it was at first, it looked like a huge knuckle of meat, a pig knee or something. But no: it is hollow, flakey, steamy, sweet and savory bread. They aren't afraid to give up their secrets either: they give you the recipe with it. Take one look at the recipe and you will see why: you aren't going to do that. You aren't even going to try it. Then I got the bone in rib eye, supposedly prime. It was perfectly seared and very flavorful. It could have been more tender, especially for the price, but I don't think they could have achieved that without aging it, which would have changed the taste and introduced that coppery note that aged steak has. Inferior to Bones' rib eye, but I am not sure if I can compare it to the rib eye at NY Prime. I would have to try them both again, I think. For a side dish I got creamed spinach which I really enjoyed. I did not order dessert but they brought me out a complimentary chocolate chip "cookie" which was the size of my thumbnail. I thought that was pretty silly. I drank two beers, which I mention to put in perspective the check, which was $86 before tip. Yowsa!

I dined here last night with some girlfriends for hotel restaurant week. $25 for a yummy 3 course meal. Yay! I like how the restaurant is set up. Very nice and modern. I wasn't a big fan of the random hand statues that they had though. Kinda creepy. Service was good but didn't seem genuine. Our waiter kept complimenting us and it seemed a little forced. It seemed like he was working a little TOO hard for a good tip. On to the food. They started us off with some complimentary bread and pate. I LOVE pate so this was a win. After that came the popovers. Those things were huge! They tasted like the cheese bread that you get at brazilian steak houses. For my app, I had the scallop ceviche. As I've mentioned before in my previous reviews, I LOVE LOVE LOVE scallops. The scallop ceviche here was ok. It was a little too cilantro-y for my liking. It also tasted like it was missing something. I had the hanger steak with jalapeno mashed potatoes for my entree. This was really good. The steak was tender and very flavorful. It came with a peppercorn sauce on the side. I'm not usually a big fan of peppercorns but this sauce complemented the steak very well and was very tasty. One of my gfs decided to go with the seared skate wing and creamed spinach for her entree. I tried the skate wing and that too was tasty. However, after a few bites, I got tired of it pretty quick. The creamed spinach was good but was a little too creamed. I'm a big fan of texture when it comes to food. I decided to go with the spiced carrot cake and ginger ice cream for my dessert. The ginger ice cream was delicious. The carrot cake was pretty decent. It was definitely spiced! My gfs decided to go with the strawberry-rhubard crisp with kirsch ice cream. None of us liked the crisp but the ice cream was ok. It's definitely pricey here so I'm glad that they participate in restaurant week. I'll be back again during the next restaurant week.

I can not come up with anything that was wrong with this dinner experience. I loved the space and decor. The service was perfect and the food was simply divine. I was here for restaurant week and it was a good decision. I opted for the Thai soup, the steak, and the peanut butter with banana ice cream dessert. Wow! This was good eating. Everything, I mean everything, was wonderful. The peppercorn sauce that accompanied the steak was just delicious. The steak was grilled to perfection. That dessert was so good; I can't stop raving about it. We were presented with chicken pate that was marvelous and those popovers? A true delight and worthy of their very own listing and reviews. Since side items didn't come with the restaurant week menu options, we added grilled asparagus and the mac and chz. Both were good. I also had some of the heirloom tomato salad with arugula (Yum) and some of my companion's dessert, which was marinated strawberries topped with either a lemon or lime sorbet. Delicious (though I thought that the strawberries should have been served cold and they were not). Our server, Sarah, was a true professional. There is no way I won't be back.

Nicholas, the GM and exec chef of BLT contacted me after my last review. He was gracious, understanding and apologetic. He offered to make things right. I brought my team in for dinner last night and Nick had us set up in his private room in back with our first round of drinks and three courses of assorted appetizers for the table comped. Again, the food was excellent and this time, the service was very attentive. Nick made a personal visit to our table and expressed his apologies for the other night and his gratitude for our continued business. This is a gentleman who knows how to run a classy establishment. To be honest, Nick caring enough to reach out to me personally was enough -- but he went above and beyond to change my opinion of his restaurant's service. Grazie Nick!

Popover was awesome with the sea salt. An unexpected surprise. Ordered the petite filet and while the server said the sides are true for one person, they really feed two. The steak was delicious but almost too much herbed butter. Could be better with just salt and pepper and light herbs. Garlic green beans were delicious though and service was attentive. I'd come back for the convenience to the W.

BLT Steak is one of the few options in the Atlanta Downtown area that was easy to access for my party and I (since we were staying at the W Atlanta Downtown). They also happen to be the kitchen preparing food for those who are ordering from in-room dining. It is a nice atmosphere inside and quite clean. Private rooms are available for you and guests if you want to keep a lower profile. I highly recommend their Lobster Cobb Salad (on both the Lunch and Dinner menus). The lobster was incredibly fresh and the salad left me very satisfied. Their Homemade Granola with fruit and yogurt is really fresh too. All of their items definitely come with a higher price tag (the yogurt with granola was $12) so just be aware of that.

My husband and I dined at BLT for the first time a couple weeks ago. We wanted somewhere special since we were celebrating our 1 month before our 1 year wedding anniversary. I must say...I'M STILL DREAMING ABOUT THE TOMAHAWK STEAK!!..mmMMMmm..I think my dog, Bebe, is still dreaming about the Tomahawk bone we took home for him that night. Excellent ambiance, GREAT Service, TO DIE FOR food!!! We were seated immediately for our 7:00pm dinner reservations. Shortly after, they placed a cute canister filled with duck pate with toast as their amuse bouche. OMGGG..this was AMAZING!! I wanted to put my finger into the canister to scrap every last bit of it. But of course, I didn't. The thought did cross my mind for a split second. Next came their Famous Popovers with butter and seasalt--another house compliment. It was featured on Food Network's BEST THING YOU EVERY ATE! It's very airy and buttery. Definitely top of my list for simple food, done right. Our amazing waitress made several recommendations throughout the night. Since our appetizer was pretty much mind-boggling delicious, we took her up on the rest of the recommendations throughout the night. Appetizers: Tuna Tartare AMMMMAAAZZZINNG.. You have to get this if you go to BLT. The tuna is so fresh and served perfectly chilled. It's accompanied with very thinly cut chips so the tuna tartare isn't covered by too much starch. Dinner: My husband and I usually share our steaks when we're out. Our usual is the Bone-in Ribeye cooked medium rare. Our waitress of course then mentioned, "did you see the Tomahawk on our special menu tonight topped with fois gras? It's a slightly bigger piece so it's better to share." My husband then glanced at that menu and agreed to the Tomahawk steak. He mentioned to me that it's served with Fois gras so I'll definitely love it. He's right! I LOVE FOIE GRAS!! (WE SPENT 3 DAYS IN PARIS FOR OUR HONEYMOON LAST YEAR AND I HAD FOIE GRAS EVERY CHANCE I GOT!! let's just say I was foie gras out by the time we reached Rome) Like I said our steak was delicious. Served at exactly medium rare. Bone in.. precut. It was excellent. We ended the night with the Caramelized Cheesecake. It was just perfect. Perfect ending to our great meal. DEFINITELY WORTH IT!! This place deserves 5 stars in my book for overall experience.

I was at an event at the Downtown W and realized BLT Steak was located in the building (separate entrance) and had to knock it off my list of to try. It's an incredibly rich and spacious gorgeous steakhouse. Not quite as heavy and dark as typical of this food genre. It's a modern take. The bar area is inviting and roomy offering a full view of the seafood bar. Oddly I am in a steakhouse and I am not having any steak, or potatoes for that matter. Our waiter quickly proved to be extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Impressive! There was a regluar menu and seafood week menu presented (prix fix or al la cart). The seafood menu was screaming at me. Steak would have to wait for another day. First up, a shrimp mousse stuffed fried zuchinni blossom. This floral gem came out on a piping hot plate. no trace of grease on the blossom. Inside full and plump was a smooth slightly dense elegantly flavored shrimp filling. subtle hint of fennel and perfect seasoning. quenelle of eggplant on the side was out of place but well flavored. The signature football sized popovers were presented as the bread basket. they are baked with gruyere cheese and served with butter and a giant shaker of sea salt. I encourage you to dress your popover accordingly. They are eggy tender and light delicious as a popover should be. Maybe I needed to get a steak after all? Entree was monkfish tail served in a very provencale style. petite delicate gnocchi, seared grape tomatoes and a incredble tapenade toast. The gnocchi took what could be a borderline pedestrian dish to a memorable level. I had an extra side of brussel sprouts with cippolini onions and bacon. This flavorful homey side is peppered with chestnuts and all brought together by the item that makes everything come together in any situation. Bacon lardon. I learned the pastry chef made the outstanding desserts at the upstairs event I attended so I had to try her creations on the BLT menu. If you can pull of perfect French macarons I am sold on your talent. I ordered the chocolate tart with hazelnut ice cream and salted caramel. This is a bittersweet chocolate crust and filling. In between the filling and crust is a layer of the salty caramel. The dark has a deep chocolate and smokey finish flavor. The silky rich ice cream perfectly compliments it. I will return when I am in steak state of mind.

Came here for restaurant week, and while the service was on point, the food, ehhh not worth it in my opinion... We had the rock shrimp soup, mussels, hanger steak, poached peach and chocolate mousse... lets just say none of it was worthy enough for me to go into details about how good or bad it was.. Not to be rude, but I have gone to plenty of places and I definitely think that a $75 check for this place was just me paying for ambiance .. You know what was good was the bread they bring out when you first sit down, as well as the chocolate chip cookie at the end! but I don't think it was worth the $75... I think this place tries to fluff you up by giving you all the extra services (two different bread services as well as the chocolate chip cookie) but at the end of the day its all just fluffing it up... I would have rather gone across the street to Room or something... All I am saying is that I was not impressed!

Not a fan. The steaks are somehow overcooked/burnt and the sides aren't that great. The desserts were just okay. I wouldn't spend my special occasion meal money here. Note: there is good service and it's an easy to find location (with in the W Hotel). The popovers with the sea salt is good too.

I visited BLT last week and was impressed from the service to the drinks to the food. As i entered I was greeted by the bartender Sarah and her greeting and smile made me decided to have dinner at the bar instead of the dining room. She explained to me the cocktail menu and help me to decide on a new cocktail. As i was eating the cajun popcorn at the bar, she went over the dinner menu and again helped me select the right steak as well as the right sauce that paired with it extremely well. My food came out correctly and my steak was cooked to my specifications. BLT did extremely well. As I was half way through my meal, the manager Neil came over and asked if my meal was prepared how I order and how every thing tasted. That was a surprise due to BLT being so crowded that night but he took time to speak to each table. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at BLT and would recommend the steak house to any one. Go see Sarah and I am sure as you are enjoying your meal, Neil will stop by to make sure everything is to your satisfaction.

It seems that I made a terrible mistake by not renting a car during a short visit to Atlanta, GA. Walking in Atlanta is impractical (and oft dangerous my concierge warned me), and thus I ended up as a prisoner of the W Hotel on Ivan Allen Jr. However, there is a BLT Steak there, and while in the past I've found their fare to be overpriced and mediocre, the bartender at this BLT Steak was friendly and charming, the complimentary popover incredibly flaky and moist, and the braised short rib ($33) ridiculously flavorful and filling. There are far worse places in the world to be trapped than at the W and the adjoining BLT Steak.

I've been to quite a few prime steakhouses and I though the steak was mediocre. Even medium rare was a little try and the meat didn't have tha buttery marbled flavor you expect fr a prime steak. We shared the tomahawk bone in rob eye and a porter house, and they were decent but no better than an outback or longhorn steak. Desert wasn't bad, but at about $120 per person with 3 drinks each I expected a lot better. Rathubuns steak is still my favorite.

Fantastic - possibly one of the best steakhouses I have ever dined at with respect to their food. I'm especially amazed given that it is a part of the W hotel, and I usually don't have great luck with restaurants in hotels. Food: I got their caesar salad, filet mignon with peppercorn sauce, grilled asparagus, and a crepe souffle. It was all literally amazing, the only negative being that part of my filet was charred and unchewable, but by the time I got to that point I was mostly fully anyway, so it didn't impact my experience at all. If food were the only criterion, 5 stars without a doubt. Service: The service was nice and friendly, although I came at the end of the night so they were clearly starting to clean up. One that thing that was kind of weird, however, was that I overheard a waiter talking to other patrons about how the old manager of BLT Steak used to "google" all the reservation names so he knew how to treat them. Unfortunately, I feel like this might still be the case as the gentleman next me to received a lot of attention from the manager, but I was only approached once (and before I realized that 1/5 of my steak was charred and unchewable). The bartender ended up really getting delayed towards the end of the night, and these two experiences are the only reason this is not a five star restaraunt... but I am certain that if I came back before 9pm, it would get all five stars. Ambiance: Even though it is the W Hotel - a more young adult themed establishment - you could just as well have been dining at a stand alone steakhouse. Once the door closed, the tranquility and environment that you expect from a high class steakhouse is maintained. Note that I was already in a bad mood due to Delta bumping my flight to the next day, so the fact that I was really impressed with the restaurant and that it changed my mood is really high praise.

My wife and I came here on a Friday evening before going to The Punchline for a comedy show, so we made the reservation for six pm, or, as this restaurant most likely thought of it, "the early bird special." We were the only ones eating in the restaurant. Some people who are concerned about being cool/young/trendy/etc... may have been put off by this, but since one of my chief aims in life is to wear a cardigan with my khaki shorts, black socks, and white tennis shoes when my hair is totally grey I just rolled with it. The up-side was that our server was perfectly attentive. She didn't hover, she didn't avoid us, she gave great recommendations, and was perfectly sociable. I can't speak for the busier hours, but at six o'clock service is great! The three stars come down to two negative factors: 1.) Valet parking was terrible. They have a tiny courtyard-type lot in front of the restaurant and had cars haphazardly set around the area. When our car came back, it took 15 minutes to get out because of the 9 "lanes" of valet traffic. 2.) Price: seriously? I know I'm a cheapskate, I know. But seriously, two people's food, even the good food you made, should not be that expensive. Canoe is better for ambiance and price, and in an area that doesn't take thirty minutes to enter and another thirty to exit.

BLT Steak has a lot of problems and some inconsistencies, but for the type of steak they serve they do a great job, so I'm giving them 4 stars. If you like your steak Pittsburgh-style or similar, ie rare to med-rare in the middle, but with a nice crust and crispy fat, then this is pretty much the best place in Atlanta to get a rib steak. If you like it medium or more done, then it's likely going to be a real disappointment, as their oven is 1800 degrees and will dry the steak out very quickly. I also don't like their specials, such as the Tomahawk steak (a rib steak with a full bone). The special steaks just haven't had the consistency in preparation, so I stick with the med rare rib steak here. The sides are also really good if you like a little heat. Nothing too much, but the kernel corn & jalapeno mashed potatoes are great choices. And of course, the popover to start is absolutely perfect. Some gruyere is backed into the crust, and salt & butter they provide make it a first rate starter...highly recommended if you're a bread lover. They usually have a special cocktails menu that can be quite good, but the service has been hit & miss as well. Sometimes it's great...other times you have a 45-year-old looking waitress tell your 28-year-old date "I'm sorry, even though you're my age, I have to check your ID". LOL...talk about drama. Overall, this is the worst BLT I've been to around the country (the other 4 I've been to are all 5-star type affairs), but I have to forgive them because I'm a big fan of their preparation of steaks. If you don't like them like I do, you'll likely be disappointed.

BLT stands for Bistro Laurent Tourondel, the executive chef of this restaurant. The decor here is modern, but warm; think West Elm. I like the use of green plants as table centerpiece. Our lunch came with complimentary 2 popovers. I have never had it before so it was a pleasant experience. The popover looked ginormous but it's just full of fluff. It has a light egg taste. It tasted good alone, but adding a little sad and butter to the popovers really completed the taste. It was neat how they had a little recipe note for the bread. There's a lunch special; for $16, you pick two from a selection of soup, half sandwiches, and salad. I decided on the spicy tuna with old bay fries and my dining mate selected the burger. With the burger, you have the option of additional toppings such as avocado or bacon for $1 per item. Our food came with mini jars of Heinz ketchup, like at Murphy's. The presentation of the food was great. The food looked tantalizing and I was ready to dig in. The tuna sandwich is loaded with a gazzilion flavors along with bacon, egg, avocado, and arugula. It was good, although slightly salty. I didn't think it was spicy though. I drank two glasses of water per half a sandwich and some fries. The old bay fries is seasoned with that red/orange salty seasoning...yea, you know what I mean. The burger was juicy and large; it came with plain fries. My meal was $18, but I was full with half of the tuna sandwich and some fries. It is a pricey place, but it was a pleasurable dining experience. Our server was nice also. She took care to package my leftovers neatly and placed an extra heinz ketchup for ma fries. I appreciate the conscientiousness and care to details of this place.

All I have to say is the Popovers are amazing. I had the NY Strip which is my favorite cut, it was perfectly prepared to Medium Well. The S'mores dessert was delicious.

Wow.. BLT got it right...except for the steak! Maybe it's bad luck, but everything about the W downtown is cursed! BLT hit on all cylinders except for the 22oz ribeye I had. Here's where it all went wrong.. Price: $47 ain't bad, but it's up there! Temperature: well, the outside was charred and the inside was near medium. I don't complain about internal temp, but the excessive char pissed me off. I'm one if those guys that like to enjoy the fat, but it was destroyed. I think they put too much pepper or something on the outside that assisted in the charring. Flavor: Dude, where's the sea salt? No flavor whatsoever..not in the fat or the meat. Salt helps, homeboy. Added my own and it help with eating the char. I should have stuck with Bones, Chops or Capital Grille Buckhead - which always set precedence in steak in Atlanta.

I got food poisioning from the oysters. My friend and I made reservations at BLT Steak while on a weekend stay at the W. I ordered a dozen raw oysters, a rib eye, and some grilled asparagus. The restaurant didn't have any fresh horseradish for the oysters, and the asparagus was overcooked and stringy. The steak was fair. We left the restaurant and within an hour. I was having stomach cramps, sweating, and violently threw up my entire dinner. I called the next morning and spoke to Scott the Restaurant manager. I explained that I had food poisoning(most likely from the oysters) and he blamed me for the encounter, you must food allergies, you didn't go to the ER?, our oysters are fresh...What happened to I apologize? I will never eat here again.

Well, if you read my reviews, I love bread...the cheesy popovers are the bomb! The peach drink they have there is killer, too. But the rest of the meal was okay...I wasnt blown away, but it was decent. For the price, I'd go elsewhere, but the popovers would bring me back for a snack.

I have eaten at many restaurants in Atlanta but BLT Steak was one of my favorite. From the service to the end of the meal it was amazing. The Pop overs were a delightful beginning to our meal. We had heard that if you try every course you would be too full so we decided to skip the salad course. I had a 8 oz filet and my partner had the short ribs. We shared the double cut bacon and the asparagus. AMAZING! The service was top notch. Krista was very knowledge about all the items on the menu not to mention the delicious cocktails that we had. I don't remember the names but we had to have seconds. With all the food and sides we had there was just no room for dessert. Scot the manager came by on several occasions to check on us. He was amazing. I will recommend this restaurant to any of my friends.

Good wine list but was denied an appetizer because I didn't actually have a seat at the bar. Bit too junior varsity of a move for me. Tries to be a hip city bar. Try harder.

Phenomenal service with beautiful eye-catching decor. The restaurant is so sleek and modern with people left to right coming atcha to cater to your needs and make your dining experience everything you want it to be. Started off with a caesar salad which is big enough for 2. Entree, I had the filet with the peppercorn sauce (good pair.) My glass of wine was a delicious with this piece of cow also. Got the potato gratin, which was suppppppper cheesy. Anyway Popovers! Holy geezus they are big. You would think once you pop one something oozes out of them, but they're completely hollow. It's a weird combo of bread and cheese. As for making it? ULTIMATE FAIL on my part, or my friends part I should say. Dessert! Had the cheesecake! Which was very light and paired with cranberries and mandarain oranges? Either way it was a perfect way to end the meal. The cookies served at the end were rather tasty too. I'll skip dessert next time then too heh. I definitely recommend it! It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for!

Clean, modern ambience, We were a party of 7 on a business dinner. Sound levels were perfect for an important conversation about business. Service was attentive without being intrusive. The popover starter is really over the top - finished off perfectly with smoked salt. I'm a fan of an iceberg wedge, which was fine - but by no means memorable. I had a petit Filet which was cooked to perfection - seared outside and juicy awesomeness inside. The roquefort sauce just takes the steak to a whole other level of wow. I have always said that side dishes are the mark of a great steakhouse. There are some real winners here, and this is where BLT excels. The Macaroni & Cheese with bacon and truffle oil is as wonderful as it sounds. Jalapeño mashed potatoes are the perfect mix of creamy and spicy. A solid creamed spinach. I would definitely recommend to others. But trust me - go hungry. I had no room for desert!

My first time in Atlanta and fortunately stayed near the W hotel. Been to their DC location many times and this location did not disappoint. First night had the hanger steak. Must get this medium rare with the peppercorn sauce. It really complimented the steak. The creamed spinach was excellent. The next night had their cheeseburger. It was cooked a perfect medium and the fries was great. They also have good happy hour specials. Rachel, our bartender, was very friendly and service was fantastic. This location isn't as busy as the DC location, but the food is the same.

Holy tons of food. For a "fancy" ($25-40 per entree) place (that I thought would have those tiny portion plates that usually leave you hungry), the portions are gigantic and there are lots of extras that come with the meal- mainly the huge fluffy popovers that everyone was raving about, bread with tasty chicken liver pate, generous sides that come with the entrees, and rich gooey chocolate drops that come with dessert) Like every other Yelp review, I came here for (Hotel) Restaurant Week for the incredibly good $25 3-course prix fixe meal. Scallop ceviche-like appetizer in coriander sauce- good sauce but the scallops would be better if slightly seared instead of ceviche'd (is that a verb?). Skate wing entree in brown butter entree (recommended for those who like their fish cooked on the rarer side, which I do) with creamed spinach (a little overly creamed). The spiced carrot cake dessert with ginger ice cream- one of best desserts I've ever had (and I've had my share of desserts!)...moist, very sweet, and very tasty! It was all the self control I had to not lick the plate clean. Fancy food but not that fancy atmosphere, which is great! Many steakhouses are either stuffy or overly "fancy"- BLT's atmosphere is actually more relaxed than I thought it would be, especially for a W Hotel restaurant. Sleek & modern decor, but I felt comfortable coming in for dinner in my work clothes. Service is relaxed and friendly, but not overbearing, and also impeccably timed. Valet parking is free with BLT's validation- very convenient. Restaurant week or not, the quality of service and food at this place is worth it (and the effort to brush the hair and put on a nice outfit for it).

BLT Steak is nice, but it didn't live up to my expectations, which were high. For these kind of prices, one would expect top-notch food and service. That's not quite what we received. My fiance and I went to BLT Steak for dinner on Saturday. We were in Atlanta, celebrating his 30th birthday. We knew we wanted to go out for a nice dinner and when we heard that there was a BLT Steak nearby, we wanted to try it. We made our reservation online with ease and getting a table was not a problem at all. We were promptly greeted when we entered and escorted to our table immediately. The ambience is very nice and definitely feels upscale and trendy. Our server was not the most friendly person. He wasn't exactly rude, but certainly did not go out of his way to make conversation or really educate us on any of their specials. I asked a few questions and he didn't seem overly excited to answer them. That part was disappointing because we expect good service when we're paying $60 a plate. We were hoping to order calimari as an appetizer, but unfortunately, they didn't have it on the menu. No risotto or soup offerings either, which was also a disappointment. We decided to skip the appetizer and just enjoy the popovers, which were delicious. For dinner, we both ordered filets. My fiance ordered his medium rare and I ordered mine medium. We also ordered 3 sides to share -- macaroni & cheese, squash risotto, and leek & potato hashbrown. The mac & cheese was tasty and definitely the best of the 3 sides. I wasn't crazy about the leek & potato hashbrown, but my fiance liked it. However, the squash risotto was TERRIBLE. It tasted extremely lemony and citrusy. I mentioned this to our server and he said it shouldn't taste lemony at all and took it away. He said he'd remove it from our check, but after we paid, we saw that he didn't take it off afterall. Our filets were very tender and flavorful, though my fiance's seemed more medium than medium rare. I enjoyed mine and it was cooked perfectly. All things aside, we did enjoy our dinner, but it didn't live up to our expectations or its high price tag. We don't plan on returning during our next trip to Atlanta.

Great Ribeye. Kind of Tender. Not seasoned well . My husband and I went July 15, 2013. We thought we going to get the same perfectly seasoned, tender flavor able ribeye we got on Valentine's Day. The ribeye just wasn't the same. Im not sure ill go back. It's was good. But for the expensive price... You may can find better. I love good quality steak like you'd find at Chops Steak and Lobster bar, New York Prime, Bones, etc. if that's what you're in the mood for and paying a certain price... You expect a good steak. Jalapeño mash potatoes were good. They're green. The corn was good as well. Mash potatoes was better.

Talk about fancy. I mean, wooooowww... It had been a long time since I had eaten at such a high end restaurant, so I was so happy when my friend Adam treated me to dinner here for my birthday. It was kind of funny at first because of my Local Atlanta Celebrity status. They were expecting me and Adam and I were joking that we would probably run into one of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast members. That didn't happen, but Big Poppa was eating at the bar next to Dallas and Juan Austin. Pretty impressive crew. Anyway, let's get to the food. We were able to pick from a delicious prixfree menu that included several different options for a 4 course meal. Adam and I selected opposite meats so we could try each others. They came out still on the bone and the steaks were enormous! The sauces were delicious and seemed to compliment everything else (like the veggies we selected). The evening ended when they brought out a special birthday dessert assortment especially for me. I thought that was very nice and a considerate way to honor my big day. My big thanks goes to Adam since it was his gift to me and allowed me to choose whatever I wanted. He easily dropped $300 on the two of us, but it was worth it for such a delicious and memorable dining experience.

I just realized that I haven't given a review of this place, and since there are about 62 reviews already, I'll keep this short and sweet. It was a delightful experience. When you pay high-end prices, you should get high-end service. They should match, don't you think, and in this place it does. So much so I wish I could afford to go here at least once a quarter just so I am treated like a queen for a day. The burger I had was delish, bread soft, fries crisp, not too salty (or unnecessarily seasoned) and I had my own condiment tray, not that pre-used crap that you get everywhere else. My bartender was oh so attentive and charming, and actually made time to make small talk. She even introduced me to the other bar diners who happened to be regulars and then we chatted up a storm. I left there with a smile on my face. Two weeks later, I got a Thank You card signed by the manager, thanking me for my patronage. How about that folks, game over, can we say, "Awesome."

I had dinner plans with an old friend who was 'dying for a big 'ol steak' so I've heard great reviews on BLT so we made a 6:30 reservation and thus began our gluttony! It was one of the best meals I've had in ages! Danielle was our server who knew the menu inside and out and was great with recommendations. The filet was perfectly cooked and way yummy! The himachi appetizer made my dinner guest tingly all over. Great wine and cocktails, amazing food and the service was impeccable, I have not had service that perfectly timed, gracious and professional in a very long time. I can't wait to go back, soon.

I was lucky enough to have a chance to eat at BLT Steak twice in one week. The first time I ordered off the regular menu and the second time was the $25 restaurant week menu, which was a real deal. On the first visit, service was impeccable, our waitress was so on top of every detail of our meal, making great suggestions, really one of the best service experiences ever. On the second visit our waiter seemed a bit put out when we requested the restaurant week menu, which had not been brought to the table with the other menus, and had a bit of an attitude for the rest of the meal. The popovers are every bit as good as everyone has already said, so I won't go into detail, other than to say OMG!!! and I love how they bring the sea salt out for those of us who prefer salted butter over sweet cream. What can I say, I would love to have my own salt lick, I must have some kind of deficiency. Having tried both the filet and the horseradish crusted salmon, I would say you can't go wrong with either. The beef was seriously prime and you can't go wrong topping it with a pat of herbed butter. I would have preferred the salmon to have more of a horseradish kick, it mostly tasted like bread crumbs, but it was perfectly cooked, still rare in the middle and the brown buttery foam sauce was good enough to bathe in. All of the sides were very good to excellent, with the potato gratin being a cheesy, gooey, nutmeggy standout, nothing revolutionary, but just potatoes covered in fat the way they should be. The jalapeno mash on the other hand were such a nice change of pace, again I might have preferred a bit more heat, but they were so buttery and smooth and green, so good. I was not a fan of the carrot cake, there was some kind of texture issue, but the buttery booze laced sauce was worth licking the bowl for. The crepe souffle was the real standout, creamy and light, with the crackly brulee'd top the perfect counterpoint to the pucker up passion fruit coulis. The petit fours were the perfect end to two perfect meals all dark and bitter, like ganache with crunch, I would kill to get my hands on that recipe. Overall one of the better dining establishments in the city. I'm generally not a fan of chains, but these people know what they are doing and they do it right.

We've been to BLT twice since I've been in ATL. Both times we got the Porterhouse for two and both times have been amazing. They cook it very well, so if you ask for Medium Rare, it comes out medium rare. They bring it out in an iron skillet, so it was even a little rare for my taste when it was first brought out, but perfect according to my bf. We got the jalepeno mashed potatoes, which were a little bland for my taste. They also serve these popovers for appetizers - they are amazing!! They even give you the recipe so you can make them at home, which I haven't tried, but it's something I am aiming to do. The first time we went to BLT was in the summer on a random Friday night. We generally eat a little later (9 or 9:30 on weekends) so the place was not crowded and our server was very attentive. We ordered the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and they even gave us chicken livers au gratis. The second time we came was at 9:30 on Valentine's day and that was the first available time slot, but our waiter was again very attentive. They have a wine connoisseur who can help you with choosing a wine given your tastes. We got the beefsteak tomato salad, which was good, but since they give you raw red onions, my breath was super onion-ey for the rest of our valentine's day experience (very attractive...). Overall, the ambiance is great and the food has always been up to expectations, especially for what you pay for everything. Recommend going for special occasions or if you want to have a nice night out with your significant other. Most of the patrons were couples (esp on Vday), but there was a table of 4 guys having a nice steak dinner on vday, man-ing it up, so it could be good for groups. The other nice thing was that the last time we went, we stayed at the W downtown and since it's connected to the hotel, if you want to go from dinner to drinks at the bars there, it's very convenient. Little walking required!

I created a yelp account just so I could express how wonderful everything here was. I was with my family visiting Atlanta and we were excited to dine here for the first time. The popovers are ridiculous and the food that followed from the super flavorful ribeye to the BBQ corn and brussel sprouts we shared, couldn't have been better. Everybody in service there seemed to be helping everyone out, a real team effort and our server was very informative and attentive, and she gave great recommendations. My mom loved the cheesecake with the raspberry sorbet and I died over the peanut butter chocolate parfait. As someone who loves to dine out, this restaurant made my it into my top favorites!

I only visited this restaurant during lunch and during the Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week. The restaurant week lunch menu was quite meager and perhaps I should have opted for dinner instead. Anywhooo...the food was ok at best. My friend Gabe had a burger which was the best thing there. My appetizer (a chilled soup) didn't taste good and the seafood pasta was nothing different than what one would get at Red Lobster (if not blander). Like I said, the Peachtree Burger that my friend had was excellent as far as our orders go. Even my desert was terrible (the crepe soufle). The redeeming factor may have been the popovers.

This is an upscale high end affair so you can expect to spend some money... and it's obvious from the start. Not everyone is going to be decked out, but all were at least decently dressed. I presume this is because it is located in the W Hotel and you get guests who are not interested in dressing for an occasion. I suggest business with expense account is the best use of this pace... I went here for lunch with some bankers from NY. Apparently they have a signature popover which we were served as bread prior to our meal. My wife makes a great popover and these were great but not as good as her creation. They were huge with a bit of cheese, a bit too much egg and not enough time in the oven for me... That being said everyone else at the table was eating these as if they were out of the world, so i pronounce myself biased on this. I had a salad heavy with tomato and as good as a salad gets. Lunch... I went with the blue cheese burger & fries... Odd choice, but they need some simple lunch items. The burger was good, not great. Dinner, again on an expense account. Great steaks abound including a Kobe selection that I wouldn't even put on an expense account. I had a normal non Japanese cow, that was excellent. Popovers again were really good - almost as good as those I find at home. Sushi - excellent also. It's a nice place, good food, overpriced.

Great Steak: Overly Complex Preparations Upon arrival I was seated in a nearly empty minimal classicalist dining room and immediately ordered a cocktail and began to look over the menu. I was there for the steak and got the filet and the tuna tar tar to start. The tuna tar tar is the best I have ever had hands down, the flavour delicate and balanced, oily and smooth it literally lights up endorphin centers in your brain. The steak on the other hand was over salted but cooked well. They did not do a very good pittsburgh (charred outside rare inside) my signature order to test the mettle of the chef. I had a date and the meal cost $260, worth it. . .no, well yeah, totally.

BLT Steak is a modern, chic, intown steakhouse located in the lobby of the downtown W Hotel. My friend had gone there for his birthday last year and recommended that I try it. I was not disappointed at all. Everything about it was four star. The atmosphere, the food, and the great service. One of the house managers served us. We were treated like celebs once we arrived in the door. It's not a "cheap date" kind of place. But you definitely get what you pay for. The portions are very substantial. They have two types of food menus available. The regular menu with a la carte items to select from, and a fixed price menu that allows you to build your 3-course meal from a small selection of soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, side dishes and desserts for a fixed $60 price. I chose the fixed price menu and ordered the duck confit for my appetizer, braised veal short ribs (slowly cooked and marinated in wine sauce) for my entree, side dish of fresh sliced baked apples which were delicious, and ended my meal with chocolate mousse topped with ice cream. My friend selected from the a la carte menu and ordered the New York Strip Steak with peppercorn gravy and a side of asparagus. The steak was very good. It was tender and well seasoned. All meals are served with complimentary pop overs (sort of looks like giant muffins, but are hollow inside, and crispy on the outside and topped with cooked cheese). They also served chicken liver pate with bread. Surprisingly it was pretty good. They have a huge wine list with over 450 labels of wine to choose from (at least that is what the house manager told us). They also have a full bar. If you have extra money to splurge, then I recommend that you give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Despite the fact that it is a New York transplant, it has to be one of the best steakhouses (and I have been to all of them) in Atlanta. Can't say enough about the tender, perfectly seasoned steak and sides. Its one of those rare dining experiences where everything (atmosphere, service, food) clicks and every item is equally good or progressively better. As for price, it is consistent with other steakhouses such as Chops, Bones, Morton's, Palm, Capital Grill, etc.

Me and 3 girlfriends were meeting up with some others that decided to go here for dinner. Maybe everyone was having a bad night because the service was horrible and I dont know about anyone else but when I'm spending money like this - I like enjoyable experiences. We sat at the bar and waited for our other friends to join us. During that time the bartender told us she was waiting on cucumbers, which was very confusing because we had to wait for her to get cucumbers for her to even take our drink orders. Even after we ordered she acted like she didnt know what the hell we were talking about - that should have been an indication to leave. Why would the bartender be bad in such a prime location?... Anyway once we sat at the table all i can say is "Deer in headlights" describing everyone from the waitstaff. The service was horrible, I would have just went to STK (where I go frequently) had I known the service would be soooo bad. The food was okay - I just got a burger and ordered green beans as my side. The burger was okay, the fries were nothing to write home about but the green beans were good. The best part of the meal may have been the popover - which we waited 20 minutes for after sitting at the table. I would not go back, I would not recommend anyone to go here - just go to STK or Chops or somewhere else if you want to spend the money.

6 STARS!! This is the 3rd BLT Steak that I have visited in the past couple years. As with all my experiences the food is phenomenal. Whether its the steak, raw seafood, or the fish - it is all impeccable and will make you yearn for more. Over the past week I was what you would call a BLT slut. I stayed at the W downtown so I didn't have far to travel. For 5 straight days I challenged myself to try most of the steaks on the menu. Wish there were more than one wagyu options but all were perfectly prepared and quality cuts of meat. The sides are goooooood as well. :) The staff (and local Stefan) were unbelievably friendly and added a fun social twist to my evening meals. Great wines by the glass, unforgettable pop-overs and chicken liver pate. My recommendations for steaks; Wagyu Skirt Steak and Bone-In Rib-eye Sides: Spicy BBQ Corn and Potatoes Gratin Appetizers: Kobe Hot Dog! and Duck Rilette are great; The Hamachi and Oysters were super fresh and light Thanks BLT ATL! Love the Southern Hospitality and the classy atmosphere!

We went to BLT last night because we couldn't get into our fave - Rathbun's. Also, it was more in the neighborhood where we were centered. So, off we go. The service was a little slow. Our waiter was on an errand and what could have been the manager greeted us and got us water. Ambiance of the restaurant is a little odd. Nice enough inside but you are right at the W Hotel valet so it's bright headlights shining in the entire time you are dining with the traffic at the valet. Wish restaurant was at least on the 2nd floor or overlooked something. We ordered the tuna tartar ($18) which has a fabulous wasabi soy sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed our popovers. While we waited on the larger filet ($42), parmesean gnocchi ($8) and grilled asparagus ($8). The filet was good but a little too charred on the outer edges. Still deliciously like butter. We tried all three sauces -peppercorn, bernaise, chimichurri -but really didn't think the steak needed it. The gnocchi is delicious. The asparagus was a little thick for our taste but done perfectly. All in all, a really solid meal.

I don't normally go to restaurants with this many dollar signs but it was restaurant week and I thought $35 was worth the gamble. Cha-friggin-Ching!!! I feel like I broke the house with this meal! I ordered the hangar steak ( which doesn't come on an actual hangar) and my companion got the chicken with mushroom risotto. Being from Texas, I am somewhat of a "steak snob" but this beef brought me to my knees with delight. It was the most tender tasty cut of meat I've ever had. The jalapeño mashed tators were unique and incredible. They brought out these popovers that had gruyere cheese baked into them and were simply divine. They even included the recipe which I will be making myself in the near future. I had a cold cantaloupe tomato soup which was perfect for summertime. The desserts were great and the wine selections were first rate. The service was impeccable. This is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta.

If I could give a negative star... that's what BLT would have received. The service was TERRIBLE, half of the table's steaks came out wrong, there was no manager on duty on the Friday night we were there... only a supervisor. BLT completely ruined my birthday dinner and on top of that, our bill was $1200 for 6 people. You'd think for patrons spending $200 a head, they'd try to get something right.

Went to BLT Steak during downtown restaurant week. Service was stellar. My hanger steak was flavorful and yummy - wasn't sure what to expect. The jalapeno mashed potatoes that came as a side weren't that great. My dining partner ordered the madeira chicken - and the flavor was spectacular - wished I'd have ordered it instead. I'm not diss'ing my steak, it was great, but the chicken was 6 stars (from one to five stars). Parking was easy - didn't realize the restaurant entrance is next to the W Hotel entrance. Like many steak places... it can get expensive quick here. Glad I went. Dessert was good - a berry claufouti.

POPOVERS! To die for. - They have the recipe online. Went during restaurant week. I had the Hanger Steak and did the wine pairing with it. Pretty good. I have to say that the best part about the meal was the wine and the Popover that they give you before the meal. I don't know how to describe the Popover other then baked bready goodness. My advice if you'd like to go is hit up the bar for happy hour and order some of their 5 dollar specials. Just make sure that you get the Popover. I was in Gotham Steakhouse at the Fontainebleau in Miami for work and they brought me a bread thing to start with. I asked the bartender if it was a popover. He said you've been to BLT steak huh? Those things are delicious. Wine selection was good... Atmosphere was good... Popover- exceptional. P.S. I tried to see how many times I could put Popover in this post.

The popovers were ridiculously good. I also ordered the New York Strip and a side of mushrooms. No complaints on either - good quality, great flavor, etc., but nothing compares to the popovers. The service was excellent - attentive, accurate, intelligent. Definitely dress up a little (business casual will work) or you may feel a bit out of place. Back to the popovers - they merit 5 stars on their own. If you stay in the W, make sure you drop in to BLT if only for the popovers. Popovers!

This was a home run from start to finish. We were celebrating my boyfriend's 30th birthday. We started with drinks at the bar, my slightly dirty martini was perfect. The bartender took a few minutes to come over to us but eventually made his way. The host sat us at the best table in the house, knowing we were there for a special occasion. I recommend the beefsteak tomato salad. Be aware their salads are huge. My boyfriend ordered the ceasar which we could have shared. The bread was phenominal. I had the filet and he had bone-in. Both steaks were cooked to perfection, and the bernaise sause was yummy. Sides are a bit small. The jalepeno mashed potatos were exemplary. The bday dessert was a nice touch. Waitress was great!

Yikes. Kinda tough to go from 5 stars to 2 stars. But consistency is key. My feathers are already a little ruffled by restaurants that charge outageous corkage fees (See my Craft Review). I knew BLT had a great list, just met the Sommelier a couple weeks ago. He was very friendly, walked me through the wine cellar, we chatted a bit. Go there for a friends birthday - bring a large format bottle. They pitch a fit and want to charge us like FOUR corkage fees for the large format and basically tell us that they are doing us a favor because technically their policy is to not even open a bottle that is on their list. Huh? But you don't have that VINTAGE. Top it off, they knew we were in the industry. Not asking for any special favors or treatment because of that - but there are some courteousy that you usually extend when you know someone is in the industry. And the food and service this time - Meh. Went from AMAZING to meh. We recommended this restaurant for our friends 40th birthday. Bragging that it was the best steak restaurant in Atlanta. BLT, you made us look bad. Boo!

I went here for lunch during downtown restaurant week ($25, 3-course prix fixe menu). The restaurant itself is very nice, dressy and upscale, but it didn't feel too snooty. It does have a peculiar aroma though - it smells like...money. BLT is definitely not an inexpensive place by any stretch. Of course, I ordered off of the prix fixe menu. I ordered the scallop ceviche and the crème brulee. Both dishes had Thai flavors to them. Unfortunately, I thought the main course selections for the prix fixe were a little weak so I had to go with the blue cheese burger & fries even though it didn't really fit with the rest of my meal. I also ordered iced tea that was served with simple syrup. Before our food came out we were served the famous complimentary BLT popovers. I'm a pretty big popover fan so I was really looking forward to these and they definitely did not disappoint. They were huge, airy, egg-y, and a little cheesy. They were served with some good butter and salt. They were fantastic. The ceviche was definitely on point as well. The citrus-y sauce was really flavorful yet not overpowering and the micro-scoop of mustard ice cream worked really well with the rest of the flavors also. Definitely a top notch dish. The burger was made of good ingredients and fairly tasty but it didn't particularly impress me. One of the main problems I had with it was that I thought the blue cheese was too strong and overpowered the taste of the burger - and I like blue cheese burgers. The fries were solid, but again nothing really that special. The crème brulee was flavored with lemongrass and kaffir lime, but that Thai flavor wasn't too strong. It was a good crème brulee and it was served with a tasty little two-bite-sized cake that was really nice as well. And just a note - although I don't drink it, I heard from other people that the coffee was terrible so maybe keep that in mind if you go. Overall, the food was very good. In fact, everything was delicious except for the burger and fries which was just good. The service was noticeably good here as well. I'm not sure when I'll be back though since it's very expensive without the prix fixe and it's in a hotel (for some reason, it just feels weird to me going to eat at restaurants that are in hotels unless I'm actually staying at the hotel???). I hope I do get to go back though - I'd love to tackle some more of those popovers and the massive tomahawk chop! 4

What a great time to take advantage of these pricier restaurants like during Restaurant Week. Any other time, I wouldn't be able to afford it. It's situated in the W Hotel downtown so as soon as you valet your car, you can immediately enter the restaurant. FOOD: The complimentary chicken liver pate on top of toasted bread was good, even for skeptic like me. The popovers were very large and really crispy but not much inside. It came with toasted cheese on top. I had the beet salad, hangar steak, and all 3 desserts. The roasted beet salad combined with the endive and walnuts were a nice start to our meal. It had a sweet tang crunch. The hangar steak cooked medium came in a cast iron dish that it was cooked in, and not on your plate. The jalapeno mashed potato also came in a small cast iron side dish. The steak was tender and flavorful, and the potatoes were very creamy with a hint of jalapeno, hence the light green color to it. The desserts were carrot cake, cobbler, and red-velvet cake. My favorite was the red-velvet cake which was light and fluffy with cream cheese frosting with a scoop of coconut covered ice cream. The cobbler was filled with peaches, strawberries and blueberries baked to a light crust with a scoop of chamomile ice cream on top. The ginger was overpowering in the carrot cake that came with ginger ice cream. Too gingery for me. The meal ended with a small piece of soft cookie/browie that was delicious. TIP: Make sure to validate your valet ticket with your waiter. They won't do it if you're there more than 3 hrs. Be careful of the very slick floors, especially if you're in heels. Also, the restrooms are located in the hotel part. Just ask one of the hostesses, they're very helpful and will walk you to it.

Not impressed by the food here. They did however have an amazing bread that resembled a fried mushroom, but if that is all they can boast about, its not really worth the effort or you money. Service was great though.

Still here for opening night, but had to review via Blackberry before my lovely dining partners. Suckers! Thorough review later. Guaranteed! _____________________________________________ THE REVIEW: Atrocious. That's the first word that comes to mind. Pretentious. That's the next. We were greatly anticipating our evening at BLT Steak for its opening night. Such nights are always taken with a grain of salt (no pun intended ... see later references) as they're just that -- opening nights. However, even with said grain, we were sorely disappointed. We pulled into the valet lot and shelled out $5. OK fine. Only after the meal did this add insult to injury. The signage outside is minimal and tasteful. The entrance opens into the bar area, which was far from crowded. I was fully expecting a packed house seeing as how my request for an 8 p.m. reservation was denied. Thus, we arrived at 7 for our reservation for four people -- all of us self-proclaimed foodies, and one of us a classically trained chef. We like our food. The hostess, Cookie, seated us a table in the middle of the room amongst a sea of empty tables. Clearly they're all to be filled with 7:00 reservations, yes? No. Many stayed empty for the duration of our dinner ... which proved to be a very long time. Say 3 hours? And not because we were leisurely sipping on wine and nibbling on desserts. All along it was quite evident it was opening night, and that's forgivable. Multiple servers stopped by our table, which did nothing but deliver confusion. Our lead server, Nate, was quite a dear, yet even he couldn't prevent the madness that was to ensue. We ordered the tuna tartare, beet salad, caesar salad and onion rings as appetizers. All were quite stellar. Taste and presentation especially were terrific. In fact, had our evening continued at this pace I would have been quite pleased. Then it happened. We waited 95 minutes between finishing our appetizers and being served our entrees. 95 MINUTES! It was during this time we politely requested a minute with one of the seemingly 10 managers there. We expressed our dismay after having first shared said thoughts with Nate. The entrees arrived. Two of us ordered the 12 oz. filet to share. It was brought tableside without having first been split in the kitchen, with cooking twine still intact, and severely undercooked. All steaks and sides are served in cast-iron pans, which only adds visual pleasure. One of our sides -- sweet potato and turnip gratin -- was still crunchy and cold. We bid it adieu on its journey back to the kitchen. Everything was salty. Grilled asparagus were tasty. Jalepeno mashed potatoes were fine. Here's a free tip: do not ever - EVER - start to clear plates before all diners are finished. The shock at not receiving a comped appetizer, glass of wine or dessert was immense. In fact, I'm still appalled. The customer service needs to be greatly improved if this - another steak restaurant - intends to make it in Atlanta. I left my name, number and detailed comment card with Paul, the manager. I trust I'll be hearing from him soon ... assuming the customer service starts now. I'll try 'em again ... just not for a few months. Some time shall pass before I allow a make-up for the opening night mishaps.

Oh where do I begin on my delightful journey to BLT Steak!? I had the lovely pleasure of dining at one of the hippest, hottest, new establishment in this fine city, and to say that I was exuberant over my experience, is, well, utterly and completely laughable on a great day. And today, my friend, was certainly not a great day in the life and times of BLT Steak Atlanta. My party was a good 15 minutes late for our reservations, and we were all deeply concerned that we may lose our slot after the rave review BLT received on DailyCandy and other esteemed pubs. However, the lovely hostess Cookie (who, I might add, is one of the highlights of my entire dining experience) ensured me that my delayed arrival would be no problem. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed the sparse number of people in the restaurant. Why on earth were there only 5 filled tables at 7:15, and yet an 8:00 ressie was absolutely out of the question?! Slightly dumbfounded, I followed the hostess to our lovely table, albeit a bit short for anyone over the height of 5'4, but quite polished and void of fingerprints (table = another highlight of the evening). Our waiter, though quite lovely, extremely smiley, and eager to assist, nearly bullied us into ordering before we had sufficient time to digest the menu. With such haste, and a doting staff of approx. 22 waiters, 7 suit, and 2 sommeliers (note: more people working than eating), I was confident that we would have stellar service. ROUND 1: FIGHT! My table ordered a delightful array of appetizers. I must say, the tuna tartar was gorgeous. The buttery smooth flavors melted delightfully, and the presentation left us wanting more. The beet salad was also quite delicious, and paired the perfect amount of textures, sharpness of flavor, and gooey beet goodness (yes, I know. "Gooey" is not exactly a term to describe the delectable beet, but go with it. Gooey in my book = goodness galore). ROUND 2: FLIGHT! UTTER. DISASTER. I could stop right here, but alas, my fellow yelpers would be robbed of a great disservice to mankind. Here goes (and hope I can do justice to such a dreadful experience)... After waiting for more than 90 minutes after our appetizers were served, our food had yet to arrive. Popovers be damned! After 3 visits from waiter #1 (The kitchen is really backed up!) and no explanations or promises of imminent arrival, we eventually beckoned a manager to inquire as to the delay. Again, no apologies, no explanations offered. Not even a half smile from our buddy in the grey suit. By this point, I should have called it quits as I had lost all appetite and was sufficiently pleased with the first course offerings. Oh, if only I had been warned of what fate would befall me! Finally, after much anticipation had built up, the piping hot skillets of goodness arrived. Only, what was placed in front of my table was a sheer disaster. 1 - Medium Filet arrived, fully strung up (note to staff: dainty ladies should not be de-twining a buttered up steak tableside). Said filet was to be shared between two members of the party, yet filet was not divided. When dainty lady #1 (also known as fellow yelper Reba) cut into the filet, it was a heap of red mess and certainly no where near the requested medium heat. The plastic cow perched atop our steak was clearly a false advertisement. SHAMEFUL. 2- The sweet potato and turnip gratin, which was selected based on the rave reviews of our waiter ("One of the best items on the menu"), was an absolute sham. Neither potato nor turnip was fully cooked, the "gratin" was a puddle of tasteless swampy goo, and to top it all off, everything in the skillet was cold. DISASTROUS. We brought it to the managers attention, sent it back, and never received a replacement. Finally, after another visit from Paul, our newfound buddy in suit, he admitted that the chef said this item was not yet perfected, and that all future batch would have the same flaws. LOVELY. 3- Fine dining establishments are just that. Fine. This one, not so much. Rule #1 of any waitstaff is never to clear plates until all diners at a given table have finished. I've heard this barked by all levels of management at any half-way decent establishment (even Olive Garden!), so you can imagine my utter look of horror when grey suit #2 asked if the dainty ladies had finished dining, and proceeded to stick his thumb into the BBQ saturated corner of the plate to remove it as our fellow diners continued digging into their hunk of meat. DEVASTATING. Yes, yelpers this verbose lady was quite speechless. Now don't be fooled. Yelpers certainly know how to air their grievances, and we made ours loud and clear to Waiter Nate and Ops Manager Paul, yet no level of apology, no comped items, no nothing but a $4 cola (which we were billed for) ultimately arrived. DISDAIN. Bottom Line (and the ultimate take away) Will I go back? Unlikely. Will I continue to yelp? Hell yeah!

This was one of the restaurants I visited during restaurant week and I definitely enjoyed my experience dining here. The restaurant is part of the W Hotel downtown which helped to give a very contemporary feel to the atmosphere. Parking was simple because of the Valet service. We came in about 45 mins before our reservation time and they didn't have a problem seating us early. We were immediately served with delicious bread called popovers. Though the look of them was a bit heinous, I couldn't stop eating them! Luckily, they give you a small card that's printed with the recipe. After I managed to stop eating the yummy popovers, I had my slow-cooked short ribs (which wasn't on the restaurant week menu). They were absolute perfection! It was soaked in dark, rich sauce and the ribs just melted in my mouth. The friends I were with stayed with the restaurant week menu and they all ordered the Hanger steak with jalapeno mashed potatoes. Considering they are big time steak eaters, they all loved their steaks. The desserts, however, was just okay. We tasted the peach brioche pudding, which kind of tasted sour to me. Service was excellent and the food memorable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

It was a BLT mistake to come here opening night. (For the sake of disclosure, I was there with Rebecca O. & Co.) She pretty much described opening night to a tee (although, my caesar salad was bitter...far from stellar). I know it's hard to separate out opening night kinks from real issues with the restaurant. That said, there was one key element missing from the service tonight that even a brand new restaurant should exude: gratitude. They better learn fast to appreciate the smaller bill tables (if you call $256 before tax a small bill) if they are going to make it. No one really seemed glad that we were there, and no one offered us any satisfaction for their obvious flubs (made even more obvious by the fact that we explicitly told them what was wrong). For me, the highlight of the meal was the signature drink I had: The Last Ride. Maker's, orange liqueur, mashed cherries, sweet vermouth...very well done take on a Manhattan. Oh, here's one last thing. FOUR. DOLLAR. COKE. Unconscionable!

Thoroughly enjoyed the service, ambiance, decor, and of course the food (clearly the most important element). The NY Strip was one of the better I've had and I highly recommend the brussel sprouts as a complimentary side. The popovers are "obnoxiously portioned" as my server playfully described but were delicious. Be sure to pace yourself as a food coma is sure to follow if you don't. Seems like a great place to grab an after-work drink as well.

What a great meal. There were 3 of us & my 2 year old son. Everyone was so friendly from the bartenders, servers, waitstaff and manager! The food was great. The popovers were the best I have ever had! The wine recommendation was fantastic!
