5+ stars for ambiance! This is 1Kept secret. Who would have known this beautiful treasure exists? I've passed the sign many times but never ventured in. Parking is down the hill in the back of the restaurant. Climb the stairs and enter a whole different dimension. It is dim, cool, romantic and cozy. There are different types of seatings for different occasions. Outdoor patio has high table tops. Indoor has benches, communal tables, isolated seating for two, center bar with seating all around, etc. Flowers and candles adorn the tables. There is an open kitchen where you can walk by and watch the cooks intent at work. The food menu is not extensive but you won't have much of a paradox of choice here. I tried the pork belly starter, arranged creatively. The belly was fatty and juicy. There may have been a dry morsel but overall, it's succulent. Lamb tagliatelle. This also is very flavorful. The lamb is very tender and will fall apart with the poke of a fork. It goes well with the thin noodles (I prefer even thinner, if possible). There are vegetables such as peas that decorate the dish as well. Salmon. Seared just right on a bed of fresh vegetables and light dressing. Highly recommended for the adventurer who loves to explore new decors and have good food that is reasonably priced. I will have to return and assess for consistency before I give this place a certified 5 stars!

Great food, but a bit dark and out of the way. I had the lamb... Not what you might think as a summer dish, but they did a great job. The warm kale salad is to die for. My wife had the braised shortrib flat bread. Awesome. The atmosphere is quite dark, at least where we sat. Not ideal for a bright summer day. I would love to try this place on a winter eve for some gourmet comfort food.

Stopped in last night to grab some drinks before seeing fireworks. Loved the open environment and promo, friendly service. Sebastian at the bar was more than accommodating. He listened carefully and made me one of the best Old Fashioned's I've ever had, and also took the time to create a delicious mocktail for my pregnant wife. We loved our short time here and will definitely be back for dinner. Great service and great drinks. We wanted to stay longer.

American cuisine with a twist! Ambiance; very trendy yet warm. Crowd; a mix of families, friends and a few dates. Definitely not a great place for kids. The setting is very adult/grownup like. Food; mouth watering with beautiful presentation. My recommendation, order the bruschetta trio as the starter, with lamb shank and roasted chicken as the main course. The lamb shank was just amazing. Slow cooked with tender meat blending great with the sweet risotto.

I have started coming as it is currently one of the most viable options in the Peachtree areas for good food and drinks. As most know I would frequest Holeman in Finch frequently given its relative proximity. That said, my interest in the local has been fading as of late as the crowd tends to be all tourists or consultants/bankers intown. 1 Kept has great local food and a nice assortment of beer, wine and drinks all at still fairly reasonable prices. Over the past year, as I have found myself dining at many of the new Buckhead hotspots I have noticed a disturbing trend. Tables are too close together and the intimacy associated with dining out in Atlanta has since become a thing of the past. Replaced is an experience much like New York or San Francisco with tables side-by-side, row by row, with minimal room for movement or intimate conversation. 1 Kept, to its credit has LOTS of space between tables, has a nice rectangular bar, and has the service to match these important aesthetics. The bar has one smaller TV, hence if there is a game I need to catch I can have it in the background, within the corner view of my eyes, as I am engrossed in conversation. The one problematic thing for me is that they do not have draft beer. They do have many local (no preservatives) beers in bottles and cans though. I will be coming here more often.

Not too thrilled about this place. Running out of food, server getting drinks wrong, smelly fish dish...need I say more? FOOD: I started with a cocktail, Strawberry Fields, which was the best part of the night. It was sweet and refreshingly strong! For apps, I wanted the Mussels but they ran out of it, and it was early in the night. So disappointing. So we got the Fried Okra with aioli and hot sauce. Talk about greasy! For dinner, our server suggested the Grouper over the Trout. It was so fishy smelly and bland that I didn't even finish it. The sides of Seasonal squash melange, kale, fennel citrus slaw, tarragon oil, did not complement the Grouper fish. When my friends got another order of wine glasses, our server brought it to me, who was drinking a cocktail. Duh! For dessert, we had Sweet and Salty which is vanilla butter ice cream on top of kettle corn popcorn. Even though it was birthday dinner, they didn't do anything special.

Our newest fave spot!! Thaddeus and crew are awesome. From the cocktails by Kaleb and Chloe to the apps, flat breads and entrees, nothing has disappointed!! The deviled quail eggs and mussels are a favorite along with the deconstructed pimento cheese board!! Fave flat breads are the herb tomato and ricotta as well as The SGT. Peppers and Wild Mushrooms flat breads. For the entrees, I've had the lamb and summer truffle tagliatelle, the Seared Scallops and Wagyu Flat Iron steak. All outstanding!!

It took me a while to decide between 2 or 3 stars. So, I asked myself would I go back and the answer is probably not. 2 it is. Parking is in the back of the restaurant, all the way down the hill. It's free. So, that's a plus. I came here for a birthday dinner. The reservation was for 25, they sat us at a hightop table that sat 16. We had to add more chairs and really squeeze in when when everyone arrived. They have specialty cocktails but I ordered my usual wine. A friend of mine ordered the Chamble. I tasted it--it had an aftertaste. Just say no to that drink. It took a while to get our order taken, but since it was a large party that's understandable. I ordered Chicken Schnitzel, I switched the brussel sprouts out for brocollini though. The server said that was fine. When the food came everything looked pretty good. Most nice restaurants bring steak knives to the table for those that'll need one before the food comes out. Well we only had butter knives and I def got an arm workout in trying to cut the chicken lol. I asked the server for steak knives and she brought them out. Problem solved. The Schnitzel was fine and the brocollini was good. It's def enough for dinner and lunch the next day. There was something else on the plate...I'm not 100% sure what it was. My friend ordered the tenderloin and said it was amazing. A few people had the calamari flatbread and it was not so great. Things went really downhill when it was time for the check. One of my friends asked for her check, and gave the server her card when she brought it. Well about 15-20 min goes by and the card/check hadn't been brought back yet. Mind you the server had been over to the table like four times during this period and brought a few other people their check. So, my friend asked about her card and the server is like Ohhhh, then went and got it. She'd left it sitting somewhere. She started bringing the rest of the checks in no particular order, some people that asked for their checks didn't get them and others that didn't ask received theirs. I'm not sure why they weren't all brought out at the same time. I asked for mine around 9:30...I didn't get the check until about 10:15.The restaurant was not busy at all. One of the girls gave her card to the server around 9:30, well 10 was creeping up and still no card back. She decided to go look for it.When she came back to the table she said it was just laying out. That's not okay at all anyone could have walked by and grabbed it. My check had a $4 charge for switching sides. That's annoying because I was not made aware of the upcharge. It took about 45 min to get my check and I didn't get my card back for another 20... When I'm eating with a party I'm pretty patient. I've been a server at more than one restaurant and I know how big parties can get. However some things are just unacceptable. You should never leave someone's card laying around or take over an hour printing checks/running cards-- especially if it's your only table. The food was decent but not fantastic. Service was okay up until the trying to pay. Atlanta has tons of places to eat and I have no desire to come back here.

This is the second time that I've attended this restaurant with a bunch of girls the first time they rushed us out and then apologize for rushing us an offer to Champaign the other night I went the food was good atmosphere was nice the waitressed continually asked if we want to order three times we haven't been sitting down five or 10 minutes then she proceeded to rush us and then finally said that the hostess has another reservation we hadn't been at the table for an hour won't be going back

  • Peter H.

Drinks were on point, but it took 30 minutes for the food to come out. The waitress was extra nice, but it would've been nice for her to check up on us and update us on the status of the food during the long wait. Food was meh. I ordered the steak, but it was dry and I asked for a medium but it came out more medium-well (pink was almost gone). It lacked seasoning and they substituted it by putting sauce over the steak, a steak heresy in my opinion. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty dark. That's up to you to like or not. But it seems like in general, by looking at other tables it takes a while for the food to come out. Overall it wasn't bad but it wasn't good enough for me to want to come back.

Yay! I'm a fan. The food is great, so are the drinks and so is the service! I loved the Old Fashionista, a play on the Old Fashioned. My friends also enjoyed the drinks they had. It didn't seem like you could go wrong with anything. The appetizer platter with the fried calamari and shrimp was amazing. The seafood tasted so fresh! I ordered the chicken schnitzel with braised red cabbage and brussel sprouts. It was awesome. I also tasted the salmon and the pan seared scallops with corn risotto which were also very good. We loved our experience at 1Kept. The staff was helpful and accommodating and the ambiance was relaxed but exciting all at the same time. I really want to give this place 5 stars but I can't because although good things come to those who wait, we really had to wait an extended period of time for food . First at the bar for my appetizer, then at the table for entrees. Not sure what was going on or if that is the norm for 1Kept but it was longer than the norm for most places. But I can't end on a bad note with this place. I love that fact that they have plenty of free parking behind the restaurant. Major plus!!!!!! Overall...I look forward to returning to 1Kept many times in the future. The food and drinks are great and parking is free....my kind of place.

I enjoyed dinner at 1Kept last week. For someone who has not been to something in that plaza parking will most likely be confusing. I knew where to park but was confused about where to enter. There is a large painted logo with instruction on the bottom of the white wall. From a lot of parking spaces you can not see it though. The service was good. The drink menu had unique options. Our table tried quite a few, some were better than others. The food was good as well. I have an issue with how they sat a party of 25 at a very large hightop table that technically comfortably sat 16. I really felt they should of placed us in another area, but after looking around I realized they could not accurately accomadate a party of that size. Which should of been communicated to the person reserving.

Stopped by to grab dinner and although they were completely booked with reservations, we were sat in the lounge area next to the bar and ordered there. The drinks, service and food were all really good! No complaints and will definitely be coming back.

If you do nothing else in this life, make plans for dinner at 1 Kept. Easily one of the five best meals I've consumed in my life. Its up there with Hayakawa in my ipinion. We started with the Mushroom flatbread. The bread was very crispy and the combination of balsamic reduction with arugula, roasted corn, and goat cheese was heavenly. I could have easily eaten 10 of these jewels. I ordered the Scallop Risotto with sweet corn and was in awe of the deliciousness. The scallops were fresh an d the portuin plentiful but not overly so. My sweetie had the Chicken Schitzel. He enjoyed that very much. Overall great service, relaxed ambiance. I will be back.

1 Kept was fine. Just fine. Service was great. The space is beautiful and chic without looking over-done. Some of the food was outstanding-- the flat bread, for example (we had Watermelon and Feta flat bread), and the cocktail menu was unique. However, the entrees were lackluster. We had the scallops over risotto and a lamb pasta dish. The scallops and risotto were good, but there was nothing special about them-- I felt like I could have made the same dish at home. The lamb pasta dish was okay at best-- the pasta was gummy and tasted like it'd been overkneaded, and the dish didn't have much flavor. Even the lamb tasted like it'd only been seasoned with salt and pepper at the most. All in all, with tip the visit ran me about $65. I felt like it was worth $30 at the most.

Was surprised by the prices for what you get. Flat breads were good. Craft drinks were fine. Risotto tasted (and felt) like it had an entire stick of butter. Dense and mushy - and not light and airy as it's supposed to be.

Dined here late last night with my husband. He is not much of a drinker but ordered two cocktails so that tells you how great the bar makes em! We split the deconstructed pimento cheese board. Quite yummy and I loved that they provided you with hunks of grilled, soft chewy bread and crunchy crostini to spread you cheese, bacon jam, and freshly pickled veggies on. We split the fish and grits because the portions here are not stingy. The fish and grits were creamy, buttery, and topped with a nice chunk of crispy skinned fish. We'll have to add this to our rotation and come back more. Portions, price, quality are spot on.

Fantastic. Food is amazing and really a good value when you compare to some other high end restaurants. Service has always been good, some of the waiters could be a little more responsive, but overall nothing to complain about. When I have clients in town I love taking them here because its so hidden away its truly a place you have to know to go. Amazing atmosphere too.

We found 1kept through Red Tricycle, who recommended it as a place to get a good mocktail when you're pregnant and jealous of all the holiday festivities. I made reservations through RezBook for a Friday at 7pm. It's where Toulouse used to be, for those of you who remember. Gone are the Penley's, but I like what they've done with the space. I particularly like the open feel - they didn't try to squeeze in tables. We were seated along the banquette in the back, which was quite comfortable. Our server arrived immediately, but gave us time to make our drink selections. I told her how we'd found them and asked for a creative mocktail with ginger beer. Meanwhile Jimmy ordered the Kraken Stormy. Drinks arrived quite quickly... mine was a ginger ale and ginger beer mix. That's the most creative thing to mix with ginger beer? Really? My cocktail jealously wasn't sated. Next time, I'll just take straight ginger beer. On to the food. We started with the deviled quail eggs, as it seems most folks do. They were great! The bacon jam was just enough, the creaminess of the filling was just right, and the subtle lemon vinaigrette on the arugula added some nice tang and texture. And 3 quail eggs (6 halves) were just enough to make my mouth water for more. Next came the mussels with charred bread in bacon and ale sauce. The highlight, of course, was dipping the charred bread in the ale sauce. The fragrance of ale was stronger than the taste. The thick chunks of bacon added some nice contrasting texture to the mussels and bread. We'd mostly finished the mussels when our server offered to bring more bread for the sauce. ABSOLUTELY! Had I known, I would have asked for it sooner. For the mains, I had the pork tenderloin over grits with broccolini, while Jimmy had the fish and grits. The pork was nicely cooked - still a wee bit pink, and came with a cranberry orange compote/sauce. The broccolini was still crisp. The grits were quite gritty and creamy at the same time. All in all, quite a tasty bite when you got a combination of all the flavors and textures. The fish and grits featured fried red fish with sausage and a rich buttery sauce over grits and some kind of green. The food was solidly good, the prices were reasonable, the service was friendly, and the decor was cozy. But as I look back, I'm not sure that it was unique enough to really draw me back, at least not until I can get some booze!

I love, love, love this place!!! I've been here a few times including for my birthday last year. The atmosphere is great for a date night or night out with the girls! They have tasty and strong craft drinks and great appetizer, entree & desert options!! I would say my favorites are the Old Fashonista, Flatbreads and the pork loin. They also used to have a Waygu beef dish which was amazing as well. Last time I went the desert I had was Maple bacon bread pudding, but as they do change their menu up not sure if it's still available. One thing I wish they would bring back is the red velvet cheesecake, it was THE BEST desert. Overall though I have never had anything I didn't like there, and anyone I have brought to try this place definitely comes back. 1Kept is one of my favorite places to eat in Atlanta I have to say!!!

Pull around to the back, walk up the stairs, and grab a seat at the bar. It's a pretty low-lit vibe that mimics some other speakeasys I've visited before. We met some folks here for drinks as they opened the doors and we were lead into a perfect atmosphere for cocktail and a few light bites. I'm not sure which is better at 1kept -- the food or the drinks. I had a fantastic gin cocktail and we split the wild mushroom flatbread. Both were wonderful and we only found ourselves wanting more. We had a great time getting to know the resident bartender and owner as well. Great folks with really cool stories pertaining to the genesis of the concept. Also note the interior. The art and multitude of gnarly typewriters give this place an inquisitively good vibe. Also, and trust me on this, be sure to check out the bathrooms. Probably the coolest part of the decor. You just have to see it. Hey, 1kept -- I'll see you soon.

The experience I had at 1Kept was just okay. I came on a busy Saturday night. There were no tables available so I sat at the bar. I could see that the bar tender was busy but she completely ignored me and the party I was with. The food was average nothing to right home about. I was a bit disappointed to be honest. My dish was about 75% pasta and 25% lamb. I don't think I will be coming back to 1kept any time soon.

1 Kept is just up the street from me so I had been meaning to stop in. Arrived at 7:30 without a reservation. I did not know what to expect. We were told that they were booked and did not have a table open until 10:00 pm. We were told they had a full menu at the bar so decided to take a couple of seats there. Looking around the restaurant it is tastefully decorated. It is a little dark. I wondered what the lighting would be like when the sun went completely down. There are not as many tables as you might expect for the size of the restaurant. I guess they do not want to have diners on top of each other, which is a good thing. The tables are around the perimeter and the center of the floor is wide open with the bar as the centerpiece. Several large tables for parties. The bar seats 18-20 without a huge wall of liquor and just one bartend. There was a nice list of specialty cocktails and a good list of available wines by the glass and craft beers. Glancing at the menu there is a nice selection of small plate appetizers. Had heard that the popcorn was good but we did not get that. Instead started with the mussels. and a few drinks. Bartend made a nice manhattan for me. Mussels came very hot in a nice broth with grilled bread. Mussels were very tasty and not overly garlicky. The smoky grilled taste of the bread worked well with the broth of the mussels. There was quite a nice size portion. After the mussels we were a little more full than expected so decided to order another small plate consisting of flash fried calimari, small shrimp and oysters. Again this was served very hot and there was a nice portion. The flavor here was not as good as the mussels. The mustard sauce, in my opinion, did not pair with the seafood as well a a sweeter accompanying sauce might have. However the seafood was not over fried, very tender. Decieded not to have dinner at the bar but several entrees came out to our neighbors. The schnitzel and the trout both looked very tasty and well prepared. I liked 1 Kept. It just had a good vibe. Lots of pretty people. It was not overcrowded and just seemed a little more laid back. Prices are good $18-$26 for entrees and $6-$12 for apps. Service was excellent and the chef was out and about. Parking is good behind the restaurant, no need for valet. I will be back, I'll make a reservation next time!

I was here with some friends on a Friday night a few weeks ago. Parking was ample in the back. Service was pretty good at the bar where we ate though the bar stools were pretty uncomfortable, The host said that no tables available which seemed inaccurate considering there were 4 tables open the entire time we were eating and drinking at the bar. We started with the deviled quail eggs and warm kale salad. Both appetizers were pretty good. Then we all ordered the same entree which was the tagliatelle which was okay. Overall I would go there to grab drinks and some apps but not a place I would add to my short list of places to eat.

Solid Four Stars Not too many appetizers to choose from unless you want tasty popcorn. The Menu is a bit limited, but I tasted all four entrees that hit the table. They nailed them all! However, I got the salmon and it was the smallest of all four entrees (sad face). Everybody left happy though, so a solid four stars for this hip little joint.

Our party of 4 sat between the bar and the kitchen. I underestimated the noise level. We had difficulty communicating with each other and our server. Otherwise, the service was good. The Roasted Beets and Radish salad and Wagyu Flat Iron main course were good, but not spectacular. I did enjoy my unique cocktail and found the wine list reasonable. Follow the down arrow sign to the rear of the building parking, then up the stairs to the entrance. Decor is nice and has a cozy feel. Overall, it was just good. I would dine there again.

The Good 1. There was plenty of parking when in the lot by the entrance. 2. It's very spacious inside with a nice ambiance. 3. The service was good and the waiter was very helpful after I asked him questions about the menu. 4. We tried the pork tenderloin which had a sweet and salty taste to it. The grits were very smooth and tasty as well. 5. The mussels came with a huge chunk of bread. I loved dipping it in the broth. The not so Good 1. For the most part everything was really great. I probably wouldn't order the warm kale salad again. It was a bit too vinegar-y and salty for my taste.

The choice of sitting at the bar made for a lovely evening. I found out that the bartender actually hand crafted the specialty drinks. There were two specialty drinks that stood out, the lychee martini and the apple fusion martini. I chose the apple. I am darn glad that I made that choice, it is heavenly. The Apple Infusion Martini is made with Apple Pie flavored moonshine. Drinking this martini was like having your grandmother cut the first slice of warm apple pie just for you. Yes, it was beyond memorable. My friend who ordered the Lychee martini was extremely pleased as well. What's happy hour without good eats? I ordered up the B.L.T. Flatbread, made with very thick cut local bacon, romaine lettuce, herb cherry tomatoes and black pepper aioli. Food was served up quickly, while friendly conversation ensued. The flatbread was crispy, almost like a cracker crust and the toppings were plentiful. The bacon was the perfect. From the looks of it the bacon, mushroom, kielbasa flatbread was a winner also being overly topped with meats.

The parking can be difficult, to start. I had the pan seared salmon, which was great. Their craft beer selection is somewhat small but still good. The atmosphere is pretty nice. The only issue is their credit card machine was down and prior to receiving the check, we had to wait for what seemed like a long time. Apparently that is an issue here.

I'm in love with this place! I went with some girlfriends for a Sunday Brunch. First things first...it is kind of hard to find and I totally drove right past it. It's right next to Tantra and the driveway goes downhill to the parking lot. Then you walk up the metal stairs out back. The FOOD WAS GREAT. The peach mimosa was delicious! I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. It was probably one of the best if not THE best Shrimp and Grits (and that includes the ones in SC). It had a peach glaze that made it sweet along with sausage, celery, onions and etc. I'm still drooling over it now. My friends got the mushroom flatbread and the short rib eggs benedict. The flatbread was very good, though I would try the salmon flatbread next time instead. The eggs benedict was delicious as well. The restaurant is small, but very chic. The tables are unfinished wood and the chairs are fancy. There is a center bar. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It's a great place to go with friends. I am already planning to go back with my husband!!

Very nice atmosphere, great for a date night or night out with the girls. They have really yummy cocktails and a menu good for sharing. I ordered the kale salad and the SGT Peppers flatbread and both were delicious. I tried several other flatbreads and appetizers and they were all great too. The service was.....weird? I was in a party of 4 girls and we were all catching up at first not paying attention to the menu. The servers came by so many times to see if we were ready to order that it literally became a joke. After we ordered, it didn't stop. It actually became quite annoying. They were not that busy and there were tables open, so it wasn't an issue of being rushed. Maybe they were just bored? Anyways, I'd give the food a 4 and the service a 2, hence my 3-star review.

This is a new restaurant that has only been open for about 2 months now. It is amazing where they are given such a short time to be open but the quick summary is that not a single plate had any food left on it and the service was very good. At the table we started with the mussles and the warm kale salad and I have to say that they were both excellent. The mussles had an amazing broth with big cubes of bacon and diced onions and garlic and the kale salad was also great as you dont find many restaurants that do a warm kale salad. For main courses we each tried something different including the grilled chicken, pork tenderloin and the arctic char. I personally ordered the pork tenderloin and it was cooked perfectly. Most restaurants overcook this cut of pork but not 1Kept. I would honestly reccomend any of these main courses. Service was awesome and although our server was not as attentive as I would have hoped when it came to refilling the wine glasses, his personality and attention to the table overall was awesome. We even had a chance to meet the owner and share our excellent experience with him. Lastly, the prices are extremely reasonable and it makes you wonder why sometimes we pay more for less at other restaurants. I will absolutely be going back to 1Kept in the very near future and am excited to try more items on their menu.

Great value and a beautiful space. Everyone was a fan of the kale salad and the veal meatloaf. The pork was also very tasty. I hope this place takes off, because it is really great. Note - if you have trouble with stairs (wheelchair, crutches, etc.) then there is a hidden door for the elevator. You apparently have to call ahead to the hostess to get access to it.

Awesome service. Food was delicious and entrees were great. Only complaints were that the appetizers were fairly limited in selection and parking was challenging because of how small the lot was. It is a little hard to find, but once you do, you will enjoy. Also note that they open at 5:30pm (make sure you plan accordingly...we didn't).

What is this place, a restaurant or a bar? We sat at the bar and the 2 servers were dressed as if they were working at a night club and the guy running the place was drinking shots with the servers and a few patrons. The music did not fit the look of the restaurant or the food. The food was just okay, mediocre at best. We wont return, live in the neighborhood and really wanted to love the place.

After a disastrous attempt at another restaurant, we went to 1Kept. Our friends had never been and we assured them that it would be great. Two of us ordered the scallops and after 10 minutes, the waiter came back and said they were out of scallops. And my husband had order the schnitzel... and they were out, too. Who runs out of chicken on a Saturday night??? Our waiter couldn't have handled it better. He was very nice and it wasn't his fault. It was, however, a disappointing experience. We all ended up getting the Wagyu Flat Iron and it was just okay. The popcorn and mussels made excellent appetizers and the pulled-pork flatbread that our waiter suggested was wonderful. Dessert was pretty meh (flourless chocolate cake). I'll give it another shot, but seriously- how can you run out of two of your main entrees on a Saturday night??

ATL's new hotspot. 1kept is very unique in what it does. It has a speak easy, whiskey bar, American fusion feel to it. Its a great place to unwind and relax and it has the perfect dim lit setting to do so. The chefs behind 1kept are young, ambitious and extremely talented. I thought I had tried just about everything that could be pickled, until I tried pickled watermelon rinds... yeah my mind and taste buds where blown away. I mean damnnnn!!!! There honestly isnt a bad thing on the menu, for starters, the warm kale salad with chorizo, quinoa and chili oil will take your salad eating experience to whole new level. You get a super food(quinoa) with a fantastically prepared meat and a bit of spice all in one; dream come true. Ok on to the muscles; I couldnt get enough of them, bring me a couple of plates please. The beef and broccoli flatbread is the best thing in the house, tender, juicy and full of flavor, (do NOT pass this up!) Main course... Once again tough choice, the Arctic Char is a fantastic white fish and prepared very well. The steak frites with sweet potatoe fries are awesome as well. The place is only a few weeks old so of course everyone is still getting in the groove of things which is understandable. Its going to be a gem in a few months once everything is settled. If you want an awesome atmosphere and some ridiculously delicious food, then 1kept is the new spot to try.

Can I keep this place my secret? Easy self parking. Harder and harder to come by in this city. Bartender gave me one of the healthiest pours of wine in recent memory. The space- feels a little like a ski lodge- there arent a lot of tables and a lot of room between them. my only complaints about our table set for 8 is that we were too far apart- yet we were in large comfy chairs. The food- I ordered a beet salad and a flatbread- The beet salad was good, but Ive had better at other restaurants- the mushroom flatbread was awesome- a lot of different flavors. My friends all enjoyed their food as well . The prices are very reasonable and the menu has great variety. I will be back again to try something new! The service was friendly and quick.

Came with a large party for a birthday bananza. Practically no parking left in the lot. The food here is delicious (had the scallop risotto) although the food took a bit long to come out. Servers were very attentive and nice. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone considering a visit. One thing though, the bar stools are very uncomfortable to sit on, more decorative than functional. Will try to sit in a real chair next time!

Solid food. Great service. It's a bit hidden. Parking is in the back and entrance is in the back as well. Adjacent to Tantra Buckhead.

Excellent food, great atmosphere. Went here on a double date and we tried the quail eggs, popcorn, and mushroom flatbread. The flatbread was the best, the quail eggs were small. The risotto scallops were awesome! Service was good with honest recommendations, and the drinks were stellar. Overall very fun, enjoyable, delicious experience. Parking behind is good, you don't have to valet

Outstanding Food and Service! Would highly recommend the stuffed quail egg appetizer and mussel appetizer - so delicious! We also enjoyed the short ribs and pan seared scallops with risotto. Our waitress was extremely knowledgable and helpful! Can't wait to go back again! FYI - Directions to their parking lot is not marked well.

Absolutely outstanding dinner. TLC at an incredibly high quality level of culinary precision. We had a special New Year's Eve menu that featured (items we had) Cornish Game Hen, Braised Veal Shank, Rizzoto, Foie Gras & Pork Belly. Everything had terrific flavor & was executed perfectly. A nice New Year's treat were the complimentary Deviled Quail Eggs; small (of course) but yummy!! Our server Josh was excellent in explaining the menu items & recommending these dishes. Drinks (Kaleb especially) were well blended & smooth. The setting/atmosphere was trendy yet sophisticated & made our dinner enjoyable with soft lighting & comfy seating. We have lived in Atlanta for almost a year & I would have no problem saying that we saved the best for last in 2013. 1Kept exceeded my expectations & I will 100% return to try their standard dinner menu. Bravo & Happy New Year!

1Kept is an amazing spot. I love that the AJC gave them a great review recently, but hate that my hidden neighborhood gem has gotten so busy! Even before the review, 1Kept has been gaining momentum and is busy more often than not. The good: - Easy SELF parking in the lot. I love not being forced into valet parking. - The bartenders are great and really know their stuff. Good cocktail program (we all tried special cocktails of the day and all were tasty) and wine list. - The food is wonderful. My current favorite is the kale salad, but all of the flatbreads are good, as are the mussels, foie gras, deviled quail eggs. So, I guess I really haven't had anything at 1Kept that I didn't like! - Service is friendly, quick and knowledgeable (our server helped us navigate the wine list and made great suggestions) - the manager/owner is very visible in the restaurant and always checking on customers to make sure they are enjoying themselves I will be back and look forward to introducing more friends to 1Kept.

This place is hidden, but I did not have a problem with finding it after their explanation taken from the web. It is a small place, but very nice. I liked the décor and ambience. Service was very nice. The food; scallops- so so. I loved the corn risotto, but scallops tasted a bit undercooked and plain. One of my friend's meatloaf was dry, so she did not like it much. Other friend ordered grilled pork tenderloin and he loved it. Overall I would recommend checking it out.

If there was a place for a 3.5 star, I would have checked it. The atmosphere is awesome, along with the waitress we had. She was knowledgable and very nice/cool. The pimento cheese app was really good. The deviled eggs were ok. The best meal of the night was my fiancée's seared scallops. I got the chicken schnitzel. The noodles, sauce and extras were great but the chicken wasn't good at all. Very rubbery and fatty. The braised short ribs were ok. So the food was the reason for a lower rating, that and we had an 8:30 reservation but didn't get seated until 9.

This is a long-overdue review, but I came to 1Kept with my wife and some friends for a birthday meal, and it was outstanding. The drinks at the bar were good and strong, and were served quickly. We were seated in a timely manner, and Thaddeus the owner came by and gave some great recommendations for both appetizers and entrees. For appetizers we had mussels, the kale salad, and quail eggs, and all were excellent. The broth for the mussels was awesome, the quail eggs had a great flavor to them and the kale salad was perfect, a warm salad with good contrasting texture from the couscous. We shared a variety of entrees, but the ones that stood out to me were the bocatini and the duck flatbread. I would eat the flatbreads here at every meal, every day if I could. They also were kind enough to offer dessert to my friend whose birthday it was, and it was excellent. Overall, the evening was great, and the ambience of the place is unique and memorable (a bunch of typewriters all over the damn place, very memorable...). I'd happily recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fun evening with friends or a date.

I had heard about this place from a friend and live close by. We walked in on a Thursday evening around 6:30 pm and it was not too busy. It is very easy to miss on Peachtree Street with the parking lot in the back. The parking lot is tight and strange to maneuver through. So, when we walked in they asked if we had a reservation. We said that we did not. They said that they had some reservations at 8:00 pm. That was a bit strange, but we went on in. The place is very nice and very rustic. They said that they only have 13 tables, which is strange and they definitely have room for more. The service was excellent and very on key. The food was excellent, as well. I had the pork tenderloin and the peanut butter mousse, as dessert. I was very impressed and had an overall good experience.

Tried this place using Travelzoo deal. We had dinner & drinks at the bar like we normally do. Food was tasty & well priced. Nice decor but weird location. Entrance to restaurant is behind the building. We started with kale salad & flat bread which were both very nice. The entrees were just OK. We didn't try the cocktails here, had wine instead. My only complaint was the bartender. She was pleasant & friendly but inexperienced. We both asked for second round of drinks. When she bought our new drinks, without looking she took our unfinished drinks away. We both thought that was odd. It's probably because she was preoccupied with her friend sitting at the bar to really pay any attention to her customers. Not sure if it's worth another visit.

I actually loved this place. from the design to the food everything was great. The service was fast and the waiter always made sure we had everything and took the time to explain everything on the menu. Parking is free and its behind the building. I got a little turned around trying to find this place, but its actually behind the buildings on the street. Make sure you look on the white building for !kept and the arrows on it and follow that to the back. Definitely will be going back to this place. Its great for groups or even a special date night. They have a bar in the middle so you can even go by yourself and have a drink or two.

Food $12 Sunday brunch. Chicken and waffles. Good value for this area and it was the most expensive thing on their brunch menu. I'm ballin. Good portion and pretty presentation. The sauce wasn't memorable and the chicken was extremely salty. I almost died. I wouldn't have been able to eat the chicken without the waffle. Decor Clean and upper class decor. Large parking. The restaurant is kind of hidden and the only reason we stumbled here was because there was a two hour wait for Holeman & Finch. Service The server was good. The servers were wearing pajamas for some reason (Post halloween stuff?). Would I come here again Probably not. There are so many choices around the area that I would have to try the others first.

Our party of three went for an early dinner (6:30) and found the restaurant about a third full. I might have had trouble locating the restaurant had not our daughter been there before with a group from work. Their free parking lot and stairs to the entrance are behind and below a row of street-level storefronts. Our personable server (Lauren?) was very knowledgeable about the menu items which helped us decide what to order. We selected the Mean Mussels ($13), Pork Tenderloin ($18), and Chicken Schnitzel & Spaetzle ($18) with a bottle of "The Calling". A large party ordered before us with slowed the arrival of our meal slightly but the waitress kept us informed with its progress. Our first bites made us all overjoyed with our selections which definitively would have been worth an even longer delay. During the meal, our waitress was attentive in all respects. I was still eating on my generous serving of highly-flavored muscles while my family enjoyed a chocolate s'more and a lemon chello sherbert which were both delicious. I tasted both other entrees and agreed they were both as exquisite as mine. If pressed to note something that wasn't outstanding about our whole dining experience, it wouldn't be anything related to the food, it would be the lack of curb appeal, and the music that was at a volume that was more suitable for hipsters than this old codger.

Needed a spot for cocktails that wasn't too loud so I could catch up with a good friend. I'd been to 1Kept a couple of years ago for brunch so I knew the food was good, but I was happy to find it was also perfect for cocktails and conversation. We got a spot on the cozy couch near the bar and had some great cocktails and desert. I had the Strawberry Fields and the apple cobbler for desert. Delish! And our server, Nathan, was perfect. Great experience all around.

Basil martini was quite refreshing. Order the black truffle popcorn with parmesan - you won't be disappointed. Pork tenderloin was on point. Decor / ambiance is authentic and welcoming. Unbeknownst to us it is Buckhead restaurant week - so we also savored their flowerless chocolate cake!

The atmosphere in this place is stellar! The dark lighting, fancy chairs and kick ass MUSIC really made it enjoyable. We started with the BLT Flatbread and just typing this out makes me want to go back and order it again! Everyone at the table was really happy with their meals as well. What really impressed me with this place was the SERVICE! We had Kate and she was FANTASTIC! My husband and I dined there with our family on Saturday night. He and I both worked in the industry for 10+ years so we are typically overly critical of the service, but there was nothing to criticize. We couldn't even get upset that our food was taking a minute because she automatically brought us out complimentary bowls of their garlic parmesan popcorn appetizer to hold us over before we even had a chance to notice it was taking a while. That never happens. Wowed. I do have ONE thing that was pretty irritating. The bathrooms ran out of towels for us to dry our hands off with. I went down once and told the hostess they were out and went down a second time an hour later and they were still out. Not a huge deal, just kind of annoying to have to try my hand on my jeans.

This was my second time coming to 1kept, the first time was just for a drink at the bar. They have these champagne cocktails that are amazing, I definitely got another the second time around. So on to dinner, we split the shrimp and grits flatbread for an app. It wasn't what a was expecting, it was better, it had a marinara flavor almost like pizza. I had the lamb over truffle pasta with a lemon ricotta sauce, it was a tough choice between this and the scallops, but I made a good choice - YUM My boyfriend had the steak, he said it was delish! Their menu seems to change daily or was different than the one online. They had most of same items, any how I loved this place. This might be my new spot.

Great find! We actually were trying to find a different place but ended up here instead - only complaint is they need better signage. We had a hard time finding the entrance! My husband and I went with my mom and between us had the kaleb, kale salad, mushroom flatbread and schnitzle...all were delicious. Fun decor and would have loved to try more on the menu. Glad we ended up at this place!

So this place is right by my office so I thought it be a great place to go. Nice atmosphere and interesting food. Two different times when I have come here though the hostess has been less than polite. The first time they had a party and were not seating anyone else but I was told I could sit at the bar if I can find a place. She really acted like she wasn't sure and didn't really bother to check and find out and pretty much acted like she didn't care if I ate there or not. I finally went and found a chair myself and eventually ate. The food was ok and kind of reminded me of holeman and finch... more fancy than actually good. The second time I went again I was told that i couldn't be served because i had my coffee cup from work ( i work across the street). I told them it was pretty much done and they insisted that I could not have the coffee cup. I was pretty annoyed with the way they went about doing it. The hostess and the bartender asked in a pretty rude way. What the hell do you care if i have a coffee mug? It was pretty irritating so my group decided to leave. I won't be coming back

It took me about 5 minutes to remember the name of this place, and we only ate there 2 nights ago. That's how memorable it was. First the positive. The decor is really beautiful and they put a lot of thought into the atmosphere. The tables were gorgeous and the chairs were very comfortable. And that's it. The music was not really fitting for the place... it was college indie like Miike Snow, Discovery, Passion Pit, etc, but everyone there was dressed up and the whole vibe of the restaurant was "speakeasy"-ish. So while I very much enjoyed the music selection, I still felt out of place being undressed. Definitely a weird feeling. It was 4 degrees outside that night, but the hostess kept opening and propping open the front door every 10 minutes. Why? Probably because the ventilation in the kitchen wasn't working properly as the whole restaurant was smokey. My coat still smells of a smokey kitchen. I started off with a cocktail, an Old Fashionista. It was pretty good... strong and smooth. From the time we ordered until the time our entrees arrived was about 1 hour. Our server brought us out complimentary Black Truffle & Parmesan Popcorn to tide us over until our meals could make it (unimpressive... try the Black Truffle & Parmesan Fries at JCT instead). And I don't quite understand... there were 4-5 guys in the kitchen (it is open and faces the dining room), and the dining area was quite small and not really busy. So I have no idea what took 1 hour and no explanation was provided. Not much on the menu sounded that good to me, so I went with the Short Rib Risotto with wild mushrooms and crispy shallots for $20. People, I have worked in Fine Dining and I can appreciate Fine Dining. But I'm not going to advocate paying a lot of money for a little food for the sake of being posh because a restaurant poses as elegant. The meal was not filling in the least, and to boot it wasn't that great. It should have been about a $12 meal. I've had much better. And the consensus at the table (8 other people) was the same.

Loved every aspect: ambiance, drinks , food, service. Was with a group of 5 women - everyone loved their meals. Pimento cheese plate was great, deviled eggs, pork tenderloin, all of it amazing. Can't wait to go back.

This place is a gem. This was my second time here for dinner and the wait staff have been pleasant and friendly. Last night, I had the kale salad and trout with lentils. Both were outstanding. The trout was perfectly cooked and had a crisp skin. The kale was seasoned perfectly. I also had the "kaleb" as a cocktail. It was excellent. My boyfriend had the schnitzel, which he loved. (I do not believe there is valet parking, but the parking lot in back of the restaurant is convenient.)

Drink menu uninspiring- "martini" was awful--scallops with risotto were tasteless- rice was drenched with butter--and they cost $22-- way way overpriced -- not sure where the few stellar reviews came from....... i would say it would be best to avoid this place

Friend and I were looking for a place to dine on Saturday night. I always look on Yelp for ideas. Stumbled upon this and decided to give it a go. Made reservations on Opentable.com . The place can be easily overlooked if not paying attention. Parking was free, which was surprising. The atmosphere was nice and quaint. Wasnt at all crowded. Once seated, we knew exactly what we wanted. The Trout with pine nut sauce puree cauliflower. The food came out quickly. It was delicious but not filling. We ended up ordering a flatbread dish. The waitress wasnt too attentive bc she was waiting on a larger party. Overall it was a decent experience, I will definitely visit again. It's a good place for groups or a 1st date.

I will chalk up some of the missteps of the evening to fact that 1kept is only a few weeks old. Here are some pro's: great ambiance, delicious menu choices and the food was fabulous. The cons: extremely long wait time for cocktails and especially food (45 minutes from app to entree). We sat at our table for at least 15 minutes before our waitress even came over to greet us. In addition to that, the bar menu could be improved upon. They only offering 3 speciality cocktails and not having a knowledgable/confident staff to help to suggest something otherwise. I also thought it was strange that the portion size seemed inconsistent at the table. Some entrees seemed to have an expected size portion and some (like the pork dish) didn't seem like it had enough. All in all I would go back and give it a second chance, purely because the food was so tasty. With so many great restaurants in the immediate vicinity, 1kept will have to keep up with the service and bar to be viable.

Overall I was pretty disappointed with our experience here. The food was VERY underwhelming. We went with a group on a Tuesday night and only 1 person in the entire group liked their entree. We started with drinks and appetizers. The mussels were pretty bleh. We didn't even finish them. The bruschetta wasn't much better. We did order a flatbread that was good. This is the only thing one the menu I would safely recommend. In our group we ordered the scallops, the fish and grits, the pork tenderloin and the short rib risotto. The only dish that wowed us was the scallops. The pork tenderloin was pretty average, but the grits underneath them had a ton of flavor. The short ribs were soooo dry. It was actually pretty terrible and I only ate half of the entree. For $20 I was very disappointed. We then ordered dessert hoping to at least end on a good note. We shared the red velvet cheesecake and the carrot cupcakes. The cupcakes were dry and stale. We took one bite and sent them back. We rarely send food back to the kitchen. But in this case it was the final straw. There are so many amazing and trendy restaurants in Atlanta. This is NOT one of them. Save your money and go someplace else.

I was in town for the weekend and enjoyed a girls dinner here on a Saturday night. The space is very open and the decor was dark and included black exposed brick which I loved. The chefs cook behind plexiglass for all to see which was also a very creative and inviting touch. We got the mussels and quail eggs for appetizers--delicious! And we ordered the Cornish hen, scallops risotto and steak--all absolutely delectable and filling! For dessert the chocolate creme brulee was so rich and decadent we had to split. The service was great, the food was great and it was all around a very good experience! I would definitely come back here again!

Wasn't sure whether to title this "not ready for prime time" or just "cocktail fail," but I was completely unimpressed with 1kept. Granted, this place just opened but given the hype from sources like Thrillist, I was fully expecting a cocktail-centric, speakeasy vibe. Maybe even a bartender with an ironic mustache who calls himself a "mixologist." Instead, there were multiple TVs tuned to college softball in an awkwardly large and open space that reeked of food. Oh and cocktails? They didn't even have a list (rule #1 of a cocktail bar: have a cocktail list). Instead, they had a rather paltry selection of generic booze behind the bar and a bartender who said she could make whatever. Thanks, but if I want a basic cocktail I'll make that at home. Maybe they'll get this place sorted out with a little more time. But as it is now, there are far more compelling options for a drink and a bite - like Holeman and Finch next door.

I may come back for dinner. Sunday Brunch, not so much. We chose to sit at the bar. The black haired bartender was very stand offish. She didn't offer drinks, we had to ask. She didn't say a word actually. Even when we ordered drinks she just turned and made them and put them down without a word. The Bloody Mary was just vodka that she poured whiskey willies on top of. I like whiskey willies but for a new place like this I think they could put a tiny edge on a Classic Sunday brunch drink, and not just pour a pre made mix. She was also eating off one of the customers plates with her fingers, which just seemed tacky, I was unimpressed. One of the chefs actually did a walk by and asked us how things were. The food was really good. The thick cut bacon was like something I've never had and the French toast was delicious. The decor was very cool. I'd try it again.

Very cool spot. Attentive service. Had the parmesan popcorn for a starter and the bone in pork chop for my meal. My wife had the short ribs with risotto. Everything was very tasty and we would certainly go back. As a plus, it's nice once in a while to go somewhere that isn't valet and has plenty of up close self parking.

The place has potential, from the atmosphere to the food, but isn't there yet. While decent, most of the dishes need to cut the salt by about half. The flatbreads have a lot of potential, but the crust brings the dish down (very bland and dry, almost tastes stale). If they could take that next step in their food and play up the atmosphere of being a kept secret a little more, 1kept would be awesome.

Ate here with my cousin while on business travel in Atlanta - she had heard good things about it from friends. Parking was full so we had to park in the lower level by the stream which was a little strange. Restaurant space was well decorated - really nice and they had a great bar space. We ordered the chicken and biscuits to start with - basically fried chicken sliders, on biscuits, with pickles. Very small serving size but it was a great bite - the flavors worked well and the chicken was perfectly cooked. I had the steak and asked them to swap the frites for garlic green beans - an excellent choice. The steak was perfectly cooked and the sauce was solid. My cousin had the scallops and was pleased with her choice. I had one of the house cocktails and was impressed - well balanced and flavorful. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area/take colleagues there if I happened to be back in Atlanta.

My new favorite spot. Trendy, good parking, excellent waitstaff, and most importantly delicious fare. Started with beer and cocktails- pricey for beer. Cocktails were good. I had a bourbon based julep that I wouldn't drink again, but girlfy really liked her apple pie moonshine. Started off with deviled quail eggs and bacon jam. They're a tiny and delicious novelty. Tried the kale salad and it was really good. It had some kind of warm bacon like dressing. I had grilled veal meatloaf. It was awesome. The potatoes were complex and smokey. I gobbled it down. Girlfy's chicken was slammin. I'm not a poultry fan and I could eat that chicken every day. She keeps saying no other chicken will even compare. Last we had various cheesecakes. I thought our server was friendly and fun, and I'm sure he will learn more about the food. I liked the atmosphere and the amenities (nice bathrooms and free parking). Definitely plan to make this place a regular destination.

Found the restaurant on Opentable. Made a reservation and were seated immediately. Nice cocktail and wine list. Started with roasted garlic with bread. It was very good. Owner brought us a complimentary flatbread that was really good. There was some confusion over the menu, but not a big deal. My wife really enjoyed the Short Rib Ravioli. I had the Scallops and they were very good. We will definitely be returning.

I think this is one of the best meals I've ever had. A few of us rolled up for a birthday celebration and just had a great time. The decor is fantastic, the cocktails are great, the staff is so nice and the food is amazing. Best parts of the evening: Mussels & Ale, Duck sausage flatbread, Bucatini Carbonara (Green Peas, Fresh Bucatini, Lomo Cream Sauce) and a short rib risotto. Oh and a 50/50 martini =)

We have been several times to 1Kept and just love it. Dinner twice and brunch once. The dinner menu is just the right size and not fussy. The mussels were amazing and the salmon is equally as good. All the flatbreads are tasty but the brunch flatbread with salmon is by far our favorite! Nice wine list and The Parker is my husbands favorite cocktail. We will make the drive to eat here for sure!!!

Terrible service!!! I made a 7pm reservation for a Friday night. We got there at 7pm and were told our table wasn't ready...despite only two full tables in the entire restaurant. We had a drink at the bar and waited. And waited...35 minutes later, after two other parties had been seated, I walked up and asked the hostess about our table. She said she was sorry, but OUR table was occupied. Noticing a man sitting at a table (who had been there since we got there) drinking a glass of wine and texting on his phone, I asked her why we needed to have the only occupied table in the restaraunt. She said we had to wait to be seated until he left. Crazy rude and terrible customer service! We promptly left. Toulouse, the former restaurant located here, was one of my favorites and I would have LOVED to try all the interesting menu items described in previous reviews. But I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!

As I pulled around the building I began to wonder if I was in the right place. I assure you I was. When I walked in I immediately liked the ambiance. I was lucky enough to sit at the Chef's table which has an excellent view of the kitchen. The wait staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The Chef provided us with several salads and starters to include deviled quail eggs, bruschetta, local beets and radish, warm kale salad, black truffle popcorn, and mussels & ale. My favorite was the mussels but the warm kale salad was a close second. We were then given several of their wonderful flatbreads, each of these were delicious with the B.L.T and the sausage and peppers standing out a little above the others. For entrees, the chef dished up the Tagliatelle, grilled veal meatloaf, seared scallops, and the Waygu flat iron steak. The flat iron stole the show but it is almost like choosing which of your children you love more, they each had fantastic qualities and deserve your attention. I whole heartedly and without reservation recommend 1kept to everyone!

While I totally understand the weekend busy vibe......I was not prepared to be ignored by the bartenders. I understand that they have friends but to ignore people at the bar and not try to take your order or tell us you will be right back and then is not acceptable. At least acknowledge your bar patrons and at least try to serve them even though you ignore them for your friends. The food is not bad, the flatbreads need some taste, dough is very bland. TO MUCH SALT! It would be nice to cut back on the salt and provide taste via spices and not drown out with salt.

OMG, what a gem of a place! Went there for brunch today with wife and another couple. Started with a round of mimosas while waiting for two flatbreads (smoked salmon and bacon, egg & cheddar) that we all shared. They were both great and indicative of a kitchen staff that really cares about both food quality & presentation. For entrees, we had the restaurant's version of french toast, eggs benedict, chicken & waffles and shrimp & grits. The french toast (real thick & delicious) came with a grand marnier syrup which just took it over the top. The same can be said for the other dishes as the eggs benedict, in addition to the usual Canadian bacon, was sitting on braised short ribs; the chicken & waffles had grilled boneless chicken thighs instead of the traditional fried chicken and a special maple syrup to accompany the waffles; the shrimp (fresh, plump & tasty) & grits was surrounded by a uniquely wonderfully tasting gravy/sauce that gave the grits a taste the likes of which I have never experienced before. We then shared an order of bacon beignets for dessert, also delicious. Our server, Kate, knew the menu well and assisted us with our selections. Overall service was great making this a wonderful culinary experience. Open kitchen, cute bar in the middle of the place and a unique theme made the ambiance as special as the food. We had the privilege of meeting the chef and the owner, both of whom were quite impressive. This is the type of restaurant where you can't wait to get back for more and we will certainly do so!!

We had high hopes for 1kept after reading some online reviews and articles. It just opened in May so maybe they just need some time, but we weren't super impressed. The decor was really cool - vintage typewriters/art, dimly lit, romantic/trendy feel BUT was lacking in atmosphere. Again, could be because it's newer and a bit hidden for people still. Drink menu looked interesting - we had the Lychee drink and the Heat. Sat at the bar so watched the bartender make the drinks and was surprised they used low-end liquor which was odd considering the trendy vibe they seem to be going for. Food was equally disappointing. Mussels were not fresh and flatbread crust tasted straight out of a box from the grocer - it was not good. However, the pork topping with jalapeno and slaw on the flatbread was tasty. Overall, wouldn't recommend. If they change up the menu we'd consider going again in a few months but there are so many other spots in our city I'd go before heading back to 1kept.
