I love Barbs!!! I wake up craving the burritos!! ...maybe a little bit tooo often. Their burritos are yummy and humongous!!! All of the stuff there is wayyy fresher than Moe's. They supposedly get fresh produce in daily, and it certainly looks like it (no brown lettuce here!). The steak and chicken is not as rubbery and tasteless as Moe's either. They give complimentary chips and salsa just like Moe's, except the chips are thinner and flakier. They aren't fried days in advanced like Moe's (Moe's has buckets and buckets of chips with labels of days on them). However, they can be really oily and salty sometimes. The little salsa stand consists of a regular salsa, a salsa verde, and a chitpotle hot sauce, which always tastes fresh. They also have on their menu the "7 under 7", which is 7 items for under 7 grams of fat. This is a plus for the weight and health conscious people. So for around $8 dollars you can be totally stuffed and satisfied! And maybe if you have a little extra room in your stomach, you can just walk next door for some ice cream and cookies!

We were on a marathon road trip from Daytona back home to the mountains and stopped in for an early dinner. We had been eating at Chik Fil A all along the trip and were ready for something different. I got the bean burrito and it was excellent. Served with thin and crispy tortilla chips, it was a welcome and fast meal. The dining room was a bit trashed but we were glad for the break from the road and it was nice and quiet in the restaurant. I would definately go there again.

Somehow every time I come here the food is bland and unseasoned. $10 for two tacos and a few chips.

This is one of the worst places of its kind that I have eaten at. I went here looking for something a little healthier, but fast on my way home and I regretted it immediately. I got the Healthy Salad, in which the lettuce was wilted, it was watery (before adding any dressing), and the guac looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for days!! The SW Vinaigrette is one of the most disgusting things I've ever tasted. Overall, it's really disappointing because it's a local spot and I prefer to stick with local places, but I would have been better off at Moe's (which I detest). I would highly recommend checking out Willy's (a local Atlanta chain)- its similar priced food but WAY fresher. From now on I'll go out of my way to go there instead.

Okay food not terrible not anywhere close to the best I've had the service was okay it is way over priced for the amount of food that is served. Literally put enough meat on my burrito today to feed a chicken. Would like prices to go down and quantity to go up or I'm not coming back.

If you order the skinny burrito.....it sure ain't skinny!!! AWSOME food!! It's one of my favorite local burrito shops. And I agree, much better and less expensive than Chipolte's. Don't get me wrong, Chipolte's is good...But when I'm in Athens, Barberitos is the best in town!!

Love this establishment. Great flavor, if you get a burrito, but sure to get steak and black beans. The chicken is great too on anything. They season it right, I had to eat at Moe's the other day and was reminded why I love Barberito's so much. Moe's chicken and steak are completely bland and unseasoned, and the chips at Moe's are grocery store variety. Barberito's is miles better. Tons of flavor, fresh, and as clean as a make your own burrito place is going to be. Great place, great food. Fast, affordable, and yummy.

Busy place. Giant, California style burritos and such, you pick your toppings as the staff slides it down the line. Wasn't overly dirty, but wasn't sparkling clean, either.

Good portions and tasty! Always have been a fan. I wish they had more meat options like Willy's in ATL, but it's still the best place to get a southwestern burrito in the Athens area. I wish Mean Bean was still here :( . They will always be champions.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
