I went to the Agua Linda on Prince a few years ago and was not impressed, so when my friend suggested we go to the Agua Linda on Timothy Rd, I cringed. Still, I decided to give it a shot. As it turns out, not all Agua Linda's are created equal. I liked this location much better. The chips didn't taste stale (like they did during my previous experience), and I really enjoyed my shrimp burrito. Our food came out fast, and our drinks were never empty, even though my friend is notorious for sucking down sweet tea.

I have many fond memories here, and the food is muy bueno. I am pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food, and Agua Linda delivers. You can't have a great Mexican restaurant without a good margarita, excellent salsa, and kickin' fajitas. Much to my surprise many Mexican restaurants can't deliver on the above staples. No worries at Agua Linda. You'll leave stuffed full of spicy, smokey, tasty goodness that will leave you coming back for more.

We have been to countless Mex restaurants and stumbled on to this gem. We had the flautas, mexican tacos and crispy taco. The beef was cooked just right for the tacos with a caramelized coating of beef goodness. The chicken flautas were done just right and not dried out. Nice servers and kid friendly. Oh the prices are great also. Aqua linda is on my short list for Athens ga.

I LOVE this place! Best chimichanga I've ever had, hands down. Also a delicious taco salad. I always order Horchata (not all Mexican restaurants have this, so I was excited to see it on the menu). Prices are very reasonable, atmosphere is comfortable, service is very friendly. I have nothing bad to say about Agua Linda. Oh, I will add: if you have a choice between this location and the newer one, stick with this one! it's more fun than the new one...which feels like any other chain restaurant in terms of atmosphere.

They have simply delicious shrimp tacos and the margaritas are one of the best in town. I have never had a bad meal or bad service here.

Agua Linda is one of the Mexican restaurants that we rotate through in Athens. Having spent over a decade in the Southwest, we can't really live without Mexican food... The food at Agua Linda beats the pants off, and perhaps the shirt off, of the On the Border chain restaurant across the road and the Taco Stand in downtown Athens. Plus, we have always been treated well here, the interior design is enjoyably cozy, and the restaurant is usually quite busy. If you're looking for Mexican food in Athens, put this restaurant on your list.

We have been to this location a few times and love it!! I had a Texas margarita and it was very yummy! We love the new salsas they've been offering ( i like the salsa verde & my boyfriend likes the roasted) and I'm a sucker for some fresh, good guacamole! One of the servers there, Yanina is fantastic and incredibly nice! As a restaurant manager it's refreshing to go out to dinner and know that the service will be Great! Thanks Agua Linda and Yanina for exceeding our expectations!

Staff at this location A+ but the manger is very rude. There was three of us and my order came very fast within a minute and a half which I thought it was unusual. When I asked to take the plate back and please bring my order with the rest of the order. after 30 minutes same plate came with the rest of the order and it was cold. When I asked if they could make it new 2nd time, Server took it back into the kitchen and The cook brought it right back. When I see cheese is getting dry in the plate I called manager & explain her that this same plate came back 3 times,I asked for a new plate she took the old plate again and brought me back the same plate and this happened at least four times. ( I don't want to waste your time to write the whole conversation between me and manager, but U can figure it out.) Finally in a front of server, I had to mash up the 'casadiea' & send it back. I'm sorry to report this but do not go to this restaurant because seems like they don't care for customers & think that if customers have couple drinks... it's ok to make them fool. The worst part was, it's not only cook but Manager was involved in this stupid tricks too. By this incident I am still wondering that 'How shameless a manager of restaurant can be?' In all of this our server kept her professionalism up to the highest level with balancing act to not to get fired, which we was very happy about it. With this experience I would rather stay hungry then go to this location.

I had the shrimp fajitas and my daughter had the steak fajitas. Both came with ample amounts of meat and veggies and were quite tasty. The guacamole was slightly chunky and had the right amount of tomato, onion, cilantro and jalapeno. Our server was attentive and pleasant. I loved the margaritas - strong.

If you want rude service and microwaved Mexican food then this place will be your favorite. We had cards for a free queso and the OWNER told us he received zero benefits from the card.. Yet we were there. He said to our faces that his guests do not matter to him. I love supporting our local restaurants but not when the restaurant doesn't care about the guests. This restaurant isn't worth anyone's time.

First impression is that this place is hopping. No wait to sit down. Chips and salsa are quickly put on the table. Three types of salsa are given. Standard "kid friendly" tomato based, a slightly spicy red salsa and a delicious green salsa that has flavors of chili, lime and cilantro. I ordered the cubana torta with fries and chili relleno. The torta is on point. The Cubana has breaded steak, bacon and ham along with the normal torta fair. Fantastic! The chili relleno was good but not too memorable and it has 0% heat. All in all I will definitely be back.

The food is good here, it is typical to what you would get at a chain Mexican restaurant, but I enjoyed it. We had a friendly server, and everything was done in a timely fashion. This place is a good pick for a casual lunch. I had spinach and cheese enchiladas which was not a menu choice but they made them for me, with a side of rice and beans. My boyfriend had a bean burrito with a side of rice. We both ate all our food, no complaints. Atmosphere is casual, some cute decorations, with a small outdoor patio.

When I walked in the first thing I noticed was the dimly lit dining hall. The ambiance was very relaxed and chill. The server came to check on me about 5 mins after I sat down which was pretty long. I ordered the 6 hot buffalo wings with ranch and queso dip. The wait time for the food was very long, about 15 mins, for it not to be that busy. My server was pretty attentive and the food was okay. Not the best wings I've ever had but decent. Overall I think it's a nice place to go for a quick stress free bite!

I'm actually sitting in the restaurant right now after I sent my food back for being terrible. I had to flag down a waitress as my waitress was too busy holding the wall up next to the kitchen. The mole was awful. It looked like it's been sitting there for days and smelled and tasted burnt. Then one of the other servers or managers just came to argue with me about the mole, stating that I clearly don't understand what mole is supposed to taste like. Wtf!? I grew up in Southern California and some of my closest friends were from Mexico. Either way, your food shouldn't be crusty. Won't be back. Will say that one waitress was very sweet, unfortunately she wasn't mine.

Very great service. Clean establishment. Very pleasant experience. My wife and I both had Burritos. Very large sized portions that tasted great! The salsa is amazing as well, unlimited chips. This establishment is very child friendly and family oriented. Will definitely return! (I did not have the burger, being a Mexican restaurant we wanted authentic. A gentleman next to us did: it was HUGE and a few other people ordered it as well. I will go back and try the burger!)

We recently moved to Athens from the West Coast and needed to find a "go to" spot for our street tacos fix. We were pleasantly surprised with Aqua Linda. The food was authentic, great chips and salsa and terrific service.

Alright Mexican food. Nothing to write home about, not bad not great. It's standard Mexican. They typically have a couple good drink specials and have the standard sides with their tacos.

Average Mexican food, average service. Tacos were very good, enchiladas were kind of soggy.

If you have read any of my other reviews, you know I don't mess around with Mexican food. I came here on a Thursday night for take-out because I live right down the road and I didn't feel like cooking. I skimmed the menu and went with the chicken mole even though I had never had mole at a restaurant before. I asked for a side of their spiciest salsa to go with it. Now, it took them a while to make my food (at least 20 mins) which is fine but I was hanging out inside the whole time and they could have offered me some water or something. I didn't just come off a 100-mile trek from the Sahara though so I guess I can let that pass. I get home with the food and within seconds, I find myself devouring this chicken. I don't even remember how it happened really but I guess it must have started when I tasted that mole off the lid of the container... That stuff was beyond delicious. It was exactly what I wanted mole to taste like: spicy, piquante, chocolatey, full of flavor without being overpowering... I grabbed a tortilla and began to make myself a delicious chicken mole taco. I opened up the other container with the rice and the "guacamole salad" and scooped stuff in, smeared some of their killer hot salsa on there and gulfed the whole thing down in moments flat. Their "guac salad" was meh, just mashed avocado with some shredded iceberg lettuce. Could have used some lime and salt but man that mole was so damn good that (almost) is forgiven. I'll be back!

Best Mexican food around, hands down. The chips are always fresh, never stale and the salsa is fresh with just enough spice. The chimichanga is excellent and everything is always made to order. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is always clean.

Agua Linda is delicious!! I took a friend on Saturday(Cinco de Mayo(2012), who had never been before and he ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! In my opinion, Agua Linda is better than the most voted best, S.R. Sol. I like S.R. Sol, but Agua Linda is better, hands down. The service is great, atmosphere great and the food is FANTASTIC!! I recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants some Great-Tasting AUTHENTIC Mexican food!! You won't be disappointed!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
