So happy to have Village Burger near me. I like the Dunwoody one. This second location has a newer atmosphere, but same relaxed vibe. This isn't trendy burgers. No wagyu, wasabi, or kale here. It's a classic local burger joint, dressed up a bit. Simple food, well executed, at a good value makes it five stars for me. Order at the counter, then take a number and a food runner delivers your plastic basket of goodness. Counter folks are patient and helpful if you experience menu board paralysis. Choose your preferred size, bun and toppings. Non-burger options include hot dogs, grilled cheese, chili, turkey burgers, salads, a BLT, or a hand-formed black bean veggie burger. Seasoned fries are very salty but delicious, and I love the onion rings. One order is large enough to share, and you can get half of each. A short list of beer and wine is available. I tried the custard ice cream last weekend for the first time. Way better than I expected. Worth stopping by just for that or a milkshake. Not many tables, but even at peak times we've gotten a seat after only waiting a moment. There's a couple TVs usually tuned to sports. No defined outdoor eating area, but a few tables are outside in front facing the parking lot. This is little kid central early on weekend nights in this family neighborhood. Lots of soccer moms and dads grabbing beers with the kidlets in tow. If that's not your thing, go after 7:30 and it calms down a lot.

What a great place for hamburgers! Nice people and great food. I love Five Guys and Farmburger but Village Burger seems to combine the best of both and it's not far from my house. Great tasting burgers and fries. If you haven't been there, you need to try it.

Ok hear me out - I love village burger. I loved the Dunwoody location and was thrilled to have one less than a mile from my house! Unfortunately, this one seems to be hit or miss. One week I went in and ate the most amazing turkey burger of my entire life! And the next visit, just two weeks later, I had the most awful burger - comparable to fast food's questionable quality. No seasoning, meat so over cooked it was rubbery, and they completely messed up my toppings. I love village burger, I keep going back, but I'd really like some consistency. Give your staff better training or whatever it takes to put out exceptional burgers every time. I know you're more than capable of doing it!! Aanndd their custard is pretty good, not as good as the custard shops up north, but probably the best you can get in Atlanta. I will change my rating when I go in twice in a row and get good food both times!

Tha absolute very best burger in the ATL!!! Don't compromise taste or value. Go to Village Burger and taste. The search for the best burger has ended. You are here!!

this place has the best turkey burgers in town!!!! I was very satisfied the food had good flavor and it was hot and fresh. I cant wait to go back !!! they get a thumbs up

Good veggie burger , good onions rings , good fries if you like the taste of actual potato instead of McDonalds . Staff was very helpful . Their only flaw was the little pieces of fried chicken attached to the onion rings . If someone is a hardcore vegetarian and had the onion rings without noticing the chicken bits , could be problematic .

[TL;DR] it's not the dunwoody location. if you want to rate your experience, i would suggest going there instead. food is good. you'll probably compare it to five guys. this place lacks the comfort you would expect from a place with village in the name -- you know, a type of worn-in feel. this place was once a yogurt shop so some of the design element made it over to village burger. doesn't work. feels pretty clinical, even with the faux rustic elements. dining consists of a very small outdoor area, a few booths inside, and some tables. against the bar, there are what look like seats cut out of barrels. okay. aside from that, there's some bench style seats. i was pretty excited that VB was coming up here but will probably just continue to go to the dunwoody location. it's an order-at-the-counter spot. i don't recall if there was a tip jar, but there was no area to leave a tip on my credit card receipt. if you want refills, you gotta go back to the counter since there's no self-serve dispenser. had the buffalo burger today (weekly special.) it was pretty good. bread was a little dry and muted the flavor slightly of the burger patty and grilled onions. still enjoyed it though. i got the fries seasoned up but found it wasn't really seasoned enough. it was just kind of dusted over the top. wish they kept that stuff at the table. PRO-TIP: get the weekly special. it's the best deal going on. ~8.50 for a burger, fries, and drink. get the fries seasoned -- and ask for extra.

Cute neighborhood burger joint. Quality burgers at a reasonable price. The staff is very friendly. I've been here several times and always have a good experience!

Burgers places are like kudzu. They are everywhere and many good ones. VB is closer to me than my long list of favorites, so I had to at least try them. Good burgers, but they are automatically medium well. Who the hell eats a good burger medium well? They are traditional, so that separates them from the gourmet places a little. Hence the burgers remind me of 5 Guys, just a notch better. Chicago hot dog is good, albeit with round butter pickles that they put on a burger and Hebrew National, neither which you'd usually find on a Chicago weenie. Fried pickles, onion rings all a notch above average. It's propinquity to me is its biggest plus. But at the end of the day in a saturated market, I would not even put the Top 10 in JC, Alpha, Roswell environs.

This place is the best bang for your buck when it comes to gourmet burger joints. None of the meat is frozen and it's delivered daily. The staff is friendly too.

I came back for round 2. The burger I ordered was a big improvement over the last one. However, the fries were still soggy, bland, and really just gross. It was nice getting the receipt in-hand this time rather than it being pinned to my burger.

  • Merrie S.

While the burgers were on par with Five Guys, made just how I ordered it, I didn't enjoy it as much because the restaurant felt unkept. Examples - The burger comes out of the kitchen with the receipt stuck to it (like, in the bun) with a toothpick. I'm sure more than a few hands that have touched cash that day have also touched my receipt. In addition - and maybe just while I was there they were having an off night - I saw a worker smash the trash in the transhcan down (so more could fit in) using the baskets that the burgers come out in. In addition, a table next to me spilled a drink on their way out, and no one came around with a mop or a wet floor sign to clean it up. There were big puddles in several places that could have easily been slipped on. Finally, on my way out, I noticed while the unused tables were free of food, the floor looked like crumbs had just been swept down and ignored. I didn't check the health code rating, but what I saw made me want to drive to Five Guys next time. Hopefully this new establishment will button up some of it's processes so the atmosphere can match the good tasting (minus the receipt germs) burgers.

The burger was way too greasy. The fries were ok. They were out of cheddar and Coke.

I really like this little place! Conveniently located in the Fresh Market shopping center on Old Alabama, I decided it was time to give it a try. I was impressed as soon as I walked it, it doesn't look like the typical chain burger places, it has a great feel inside. The service was friendly and fast. I really like the way the menu is set up, you have your choice of bun, meat, toppings, sauces....to customize your burger, chicken sandwich etc. our food was great. The seasoned fries are really really really good. Oh, and they have frozen custard milkshakes, yes, seriously. YUM. Our family will definitely be repeat patrons.

Decided to give them another try. Food came out promptly. Burger was juicy and tasty and fries were awesome. Will chalk my first visit up to an off day. Definitely will be back.

VB has great burgers - and I personally love the "build your own toppings" approach. Nothing worse than battling lettuce if you don't want it. Every time I've gone burgers have been done to perfection - seasoned fries are a favorite too! Staff is super friendly; nice break from the crushing disinterest of hospitality workers elsewhere. reliably great place!

Real simple: Really good food at really good prices. I've eaten at the Dunwoody location several times and really enjoyed it. Excited to have a Village Burger around the corner. Have been to this new location twice in the past week. Met the manager, Matt, and he was pleasant, helpful, open to suggestions, and clearly motivated to deliver a quality product. The burgers (your choice of dressings/condiments), onion rings and fries (I like the seasoned fries) are all excellent, again, for the price. The chili is surprisingly flavorful, mostly meat; few if any beans. I had two small complaints my first time: 1) The fries were not as crispy as I like. 2) The bread fell apart a bit. Discussed both of these with the manager; both fixed with my second visit. It might be wise to ask for your fries crispy, if that is how you like them. The atmosphere is nice; actually better and fresher than the Dunwoody location as it is a new build. There is a small bar with about 5 stools, plenty of tables and booths. Also an outside eating area with a few tables. If you are in the mood for a burger, fries, and maybe a milkshake, and money left over after the meal, this is the place!

Love that this place has booths and is kid-friendly. Usually go to Burger Fi but the seating there is just not that comfortable and the music is always so loud. My burger - went with the double patty after reading the reviews - was so good. Seasoned fries and pickle chips were yummy. My 3-year-old had a hot dog kids meal with fruit cup and milk. Found our new casual burger joint. :)

New burger joint in the neighborhood. Went to check it out with the family one evening after football practice. Looked like they were trying to close but were very cordial even though we were the only customers. Had the special which consisted of a big burger, fries and drink for $8.95. The food was awesome. The burger was fresh with great toppings and the fries were home made. They even have us some of their custard as we were leaving. We will definitely be regular customers.

Village Burger is awesome! I've been a regular at the Dunwoody location for years, and have always loved the great food, and super friendly atmosphere. Now I'm so glad that they've opened this location, close to some of my family, so that I can take them there too! Village Burger has the best fries, hands down, and I've never once had any issues with my food. The burger hits the spot every time, and the best part is that they recognize their regular customers and make an effort to treat everyone well. Have a conversation with Jeremy, and you'll experience the lost art of true customer appreciation. If you're looking for a place for a great burger, where they'll call you by name, and you'll run into your favorite neighbors, this is the spot! Let's see Five Guys do that!

This place is great to compare against 5 Guys as the food is quite similar except that Village Burger has a wider variety. I ate a cheeseburger and fries so I can't speak to the quality of the chicken tenders or any other menu items. The burger was about the same quality of beef that you'd get at 5 Guys or Cheeseburger Bobby's, it was tasty and I did find the veggies used for toppings were quite fresh but overall the Burger was no better than any other burger place of that level but for $5.19 for a double I didn't expect Kobe. The fries were good and were not over cooked, I prefer 5 Guys fries but these are still good. The Custard is very good, I tried the chocolate and vanilla and both are smooth and not a super sweet taste, Only Bobby's and Village Burger have custard and only Village has chocolate, on a hot summer day this makes a great dessert. The interior seems a bit small and if I was there at a rush I'd think it would be cramped. They have also invested in the most uncomfortable seating possible, I sat on the wooden bench that spans the entire restaurant, it is not padded and after 20 minutes you feel the desire to leave. The staff is great, they are friendly and helpful, or as helpful as any of it's competitors. The restaurant was relatively clean and after we were done someone working there proactively took our baskets to make sure the tables are kept as clean as they can be during the "dinner rush" but I did notice a few things on the floor however I was there at 6:30 PM so they were probably focused on serving the diners. The only think that seemed really out of place and as poorly planned as possible was the single soda fountain behind the counter, this makes no sense to waste manpower on staff serving drinks when the patrons have to get up from their seats to get a refill anyways. I think that if management reads this then you should change this right away as you are wasting labor resources and in the case that you have a line-up then you are annoying customers that have to wait 2 or 3 minutes to get a refill as their fries and burgers cool off. I live about 5-6 miles away from the restaurant so I'd only return if I was in the area as I find Cheese Burger Bobby's to be about the same meal if you want a burger but if Village Burger had more comfortable seating and soda that was more easily accessible then maybe I'd get there more often however if I lived within a mile I'm sure I'd return a couple times a month. If you like burgers and live in the area then I think you'll like this place but I'm torn on the 3 or 4 stars, The value is there so maybe I should give it 4 stars but there is nothing remarkable about the burger, if you are a Custard fan go here but if you like peanuts then go to 5 guys. I'll stick with 3 stars as there is nothing unique about this place and while it's a good burger, it's not amazing.

This place is awesome! The customer service is excellent! We sat at the counter and the 3 people working this Saturday night were fantastic. They were super friendly and very efficient! A huge crowd came in after us and being right there at the counter I could see how they managed handling a big crowd. They were perfect, absolutely friendly and didn't seem a bit frazzled. The food was very good! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because it wasn't the most delicious burger ever (aka 5 star), but it was definitely VERY good! Go there and you'll leave happy and full on a yummy burger and excellent fries!

Love the Village Burger in Johns Creek! So I have read all the reviews and I also was a fan of the Dunwoody location so was prepared to have a great experience at this location. I have not been disappointed at all and actually am so grateful to have them in our neighborhood. I have been there 5 times since they have opened and really enjoy the food, friendly staff and atmosphere. They are still getting their feet wet so some things are not perfect but they are really really good. I have tried the burger, fries, pickles, onion rings and frozen custard. All delicious and made me come back for more. I will share that they have gone out of their way to do something nice at each visit whether it be greet all the customers (when I was dining alone), come and take my empty tray and add cheese to a burger when my niece realized she made a mistake ordering. While I know everyone is pointing out the flaws, I would like to add they are doing a great job getting to know the community and I encourage people to stop in and give them a try. Thank you for being a great neighbor!

First time to VB and loved it! Got a house burger (1 1/4 lb patty) with bacon, grilled onions and BBQ sauce. Split seasoned fries with my hubby and kids got burgers and fries too. Everyone was very happy! The custard is amazing and great service. My 2 year old kept insisting on pink lemonade so they special made one for her. So glad we tried it - will definitely make this our new neighborhood burger place. And must mention the price too - so cheap for what you get!

There was absolutely no "Wow" factor to any of the dishes at Village Burger. Burger was not that great: thin patty! Fries are good - seasoned is best Chicago Dog - was wonderful I can't give this place three stars because the main dish, the burger, is sad!

After a long day of work, we stopped by Village Burger for some takeout. I had ordered from here before several months ago, and don't remember it being bad. However, tonight's food was absolutely disgusting. Onion rings were dripping in grease and had some sort of hot pepper on them... Weird. The hotdog and hamburgers were burned, the buns were soaked in grease and falling apart, the chicken tenders were dry and scrawny. Literally everything we bought was inedible. I will never waste my money at this place again. If you're hankering for a home-cooked burger, try the Cook Out. It's just down Haynes Bridge Road, a fraction of the cost, and way way better!

I'm a Five Guys burger fan, but this place had me going to them instead. Only had the burgers and fries but that's all they need. I highly recommend it if you are in the mood for a burger and fries.

Everything about our meal was really good. Husband got village burger with cheese, it was the best burger I've ever tried. Seasoned fries were good and the regular size was large enough to share. I got a grilled cheese and bowl of chili. Chili had alot of meat and was delicious. We split a strawberry cheesecake concrete which was spectacular. Can't wait to come back here. The prices were super reasonable.

Great food made from fresh ingredients. Whether a hamburger, turkey burger, hot dog or chicken sandwich - the flavors are crisp and memorable. If you get the Village Chicken Sandwich, be sure to add relish, pickles and jalapeno and VB sauce. I swear it tastes like a sandwich I got on the beach at Destin years and years ago. The fries are good, too, and the slaw is excellent. I can hardly wait to try the hand dipped chicken tenders next. Now what could possibly top all the delicious food? How about great prices and a caring, customer-oriented service team who knows their product and is proud to serve it. They even have a few TV screens if you want to catch a game while you chow down. Goodbye, Taco Mac! Our new Saturday lunch stop with the family is Village Burger!

I recently noticed the burger joint on my way leaving The Market with my shopping bags in hand. It was about lunch time on a Saturday and I was curious about the new addition to the shopping center. It is located off of Old Alabama in the shopping center across from Kroger. Due to the constant traffic from the Old Alabama- Haynes Bridge light I rarely make the effort. The location is rather small which I see becoming a problem in the future. The service is fast yet the staff is incredibly friendly. When they are less busy the staff tend to engage in genuine conversations with its customers which I enjoyed. I felt very welcome. I would rate the actually food four stars. The atmosphere four stars - it would be five but the space vs customer ratio makes it a 4. You should look at that as a good thing though. Make sure to order some custard while you are there! It's delicious! The only big negative is that about a week or two ago I visited for dinner with my mother and I found a hair melted into my pepper jack cheese in my turkey burger. I told the cashier and then quickly redid my entire burger and fries. It seemed like a honest mistake and I will gladly come again.

So glad to find this place. It's rare to find a place that does great burgers and great hot dogs. The seasoned fries are da bomb. Very impressed with the knowledge of the order takers. We will be back regularly.

This place has been done well. Burgers were very good, the toppings were fresh, and most importantly the beer selection was great! Cool atmosphere with plenty of TVs! Burger was good, they have 2 choices, either 1/4 or 1/2 lb. I chose the 1/4, but wished I got the 1/2 once my burger came out, the paddy seemed to get lost in the bun and ingredients, perhaps offer a small bun? Flavor was very good. I got house seasoned fries which were tasty. They had a few beers on tap and had a local brew (Jekyll). I will come back again.

Great place to grab a burger. Not a fast food, hurry in, get a junky burger. But sit down at some nice seats, or the bar, listen to music, while they cook you a real, and really good, burger.

This is by far my favorite burger place in the Alpharetta/ Roswell/ Johns Creek area. I've been a fan of the Dunwoody location for years and the burger is the same here. Don't make the mistake of getting the single burger as some yelpers have. Definitely go with the Village Burger with two patties and seasoned fries. Village Burger has a couple of local craft beers and there are some tables outside. It's a very kid friendly restaurant as you would expect in this area. Good place, good people.

After a few more visits, I'm bumping my rating for Village Burger of Johns Creek. 4th star - Earned it... Referring to my first review and the lost 4th star, I'm gonna update a few things... 1. The drink machine can stay behind the counter for now. The traffic is low enough that it's not that hard to get a refill from the staff. 2. There ARE bottled beers available -- standard stuff, nothing craft-y. 3. The bun irregularities were just that -- out of place experiences that have since been forgotten. Village Burger of Johns Creek is starting to get more traffic -- YAY, SUBURBANITES FOR EATING "GOOD" FOOD! -- and seems to be finding a groove. My only lingering concern is if they get REALLY popular and the rental space becomes a liability. In the meantime, I'm going to keep grabbing burgers at Village Burger over Five Guys on the basis of proximity, speed and cost. Great burger, very tender, real cheddar cheese. Fries were hot and good. Our servers were very courteous and friendly, most pleasant. Will definitely eat here again. Priced just right, too. No gouging.

It's our little suburban alternative to Grindhouse Killer Burgers and Farm Burger -- I'll take that.

There was absolutely no "Wow" factor to any of the dishes at Village Burger. Burger was not that great: thin patty! Fries are good - seasoned is best Chicago Dog - was wonderful I can't give this place three stars because the main dish, the burger, is sad!
